Since we've moved from our old website to the new website we've been hearing great tunes coming our way. Mix after mix of excellent music. And today's Gabber mix is no exception! A Scott Brown dedication mix, dedicated to the Gabber sound he created during the late 90s and early 00s. And regulars of this website know that I'm a massive Scott Brown fan. Him and Marc Smith are my favourite Scottish DJs/producers, and there's a good reason why.
Project X has made this dedication mix, and sadly I don't know a single thing about Project X. So let's focus on the mix itself. As I said before, this mix is focussed on the Gabber side of Scott Brown. He has not only been active in the UK Hardcore and Happy Hardcore scene for many decades, but his Gabber was always spot on. And I've got to say that he had a distinctive sound. This sound I'd like to call MoH style. Or the Dutch sound. He adapted to the European market, and his records appeared on many compilations, including MoH.
This dedication mix has got the finest of the finest tunes in it. And it also has shitloads of unknown records (well, I've not heard them before). After hearing a Mark Archer set in the morning it's time for some Gabber! We need some rough and raw music!

An hour of Scott Brown madness. What an hour it has been! Project X has made a wicked mix, dedication to the superstar. And I loved it from the start.
Would I prefer Gabber or UK Hardcore? Well, it's difficult. I got used to both. I can't pick a favourite style that Scott made. They are both equally good. And in this mix there are shitloads of awesome records. Maybe one or two bit less, like 'Torn' (the vocals are just appaling). But the majority of records are amazing! And what a way to open your set with 'Neckbreaker' and end with 'Sonic Boomstick'.
There are some small mixing errors, transition issues. But nothing too big!
Best record in this mix? 'This Is How We Do It'. Love Plus System! Scott's finest alter ego!
Get this down you. Download this bad boy and make sure you enjoy it as much as I have.
