It is Wednesday, and it's not a special day. The only thing special about today is the fact that it's snowing. But besides that, nothing is special. 5 days ago was a different kind of day, and it was celebrated all over the world: the third of March. Also known as 303 day. Celebrating the majestic Roland TB-303. You might have heard of it, this piece of music history. A flop when it was released, but it gained traction in the 80s and 90s, and became a stable force in the dance scene. It's given us the opportunity to explore a new sound, one that would not have been able to exist without Roland and their TB-303.
So, to celebrate, the 3rd of March has become 303 day. It is to celebrate this magnificent machine, and those tracks that were made on this machine, or on an emulator that resembles the sound coming out of this TB-303. But it's not just the 'old' 80s and 90s music that we celebrate: any kind of music that resembles the TB-303 sound is applauded. And Johan N. Lecander was asked to showcase his skills and his love for the music.
The TB-303 has given us many memorable anthems, and I know there's a plethora of mixes online, focussed on those early classics, but this I'd rather hear something new, refreshing, and still maintaining this early sound. Hence why Johan N. Lecander's mix is so refreshing and just what I needed to hear.
So don't worry if you are unfamiliar with the artists or titles: I am new too. I'm a newbie, and should have paid more attention to 'new' Acid sounding music.

I think, and I can be wrong, that the only artist I've ever come across in another mix is DJ Wank. You might be wondering why I would remember that? Well, there's good reason for that! You won't forget a name like that. Seriously, you wouldn't.
The child in me would never forget a name like that one.
This is a very cool sounding mix, filled with songs I've not heard before, but that really doesn't matter: it matters what the music does to me. And what it goes, is certainly worth it. I'm now in the office, working very hard, but bopping my head up and down, side to side, and my feet are stomping hard onto the ground. That's what this mix does to me.
It is yet again a splendid Johan N. Lecander mix. And his Soundcloud channel is filled with excellent music. His wide variety appeals to me, and there's something for everyone on there. Certainly worth your time. But for now, you certainly need to embrace the 303 sound, and remember that next year, on the 3rd of March, you play this mix out loud. You can also do it now, but on the 3rd no one will bother you, or complain: as it is widely accepted as a 303 day, no one will bat an eyelid.
