Dominator. A simple word. But the meaning and the power behind it is impressive. This Q-Dance event has earned its place in the history books, and is a gabbers mekka. The place to be. And thankfully it's not the only event for die-hard gabbers. But it's one that many people look forward to. Many people start saving up money every year to make sure they can enjoy the event in every way. And once the day arrives, the people are living the dream; in their thousands they do turn up. Dominator is proof that Hardcore is still alive and kicking.
Who is also proof of Hardcore being alive is Amada. This fellow artist from Limburg (I am not an artist, but someone from Limburg) has been a gust of fresh air. The last time I reviewed one of her sets was her set at the majestic Thunderdome. You might disagree, but to play at Thunderdome is proof that you have made it in the scene. But not only was she a nice gust at Thunderdome, but also at this year's Dominator. Her set is now online, and it's got a tracklist. Woop woop.
The reason why I think she's amazing is that she loves it all. Every picture I see of her performing has got her smiling on it. And that's what I like to see. She loves it, smiles for miles. And we need more people smiling.
Here's the tracklist.

I woke up today at 5:30, and this was the first thing I listened to. And it made me awake. Quite quickly. And to me that's NOT a negative thing: I need my daily dose of music coming through the speakers. Judging the amount of hours I spent daily listening it has become borderline insane. But it's my escapism. It's my well needed drug. And to hear Amada's set has given me enough power to get through this horrible day.
Amada likes Hardcore a bit rough. This Limburgse DJ shows us the kind of music which makes her happy. And she's not the only one. At Dominator you don't just walk through the gates and listen to mediocre music: you want your music to be fucking banging. Hard as hell. Hardcore to the bone. And that is exactly what she's bringing to the table.
Her enthusiasm is intoxicating. You can feel her happiness. What I wasn't feeling through this set was the 'MC'. Maybe it was better if the mic wasn't plugged in: he didn't bring anything special to this set. Never understood MCs in the Hardcore scene, sorry.
Which record caused the most mayhem? Really loved 'Died Again' (even though it was played extremely short), but 'Dancefloor Dictators' still causes the most damage to me.
A wonderful set. It made me happy. A few tiny mistakes, but nothing to worry about. You can find other set on Dominator Festival's Soundcloud page. Unless you are anti-Hardcore, you might find this an interesting channel to follow. Give it a go and enlighten your Friday!
