Januskopf, a name you might have seen on this website appear a few times over the last few years. He's been making waves in the Hardcore scene, and the few mixes I have found, are all solid mixes. You might be wondering, why am I talking about him, on this extremely hot and cloudy Sunday afternoon? Well, it's all thanks to DJ Promo's latest mix. I know that might not make any sense, but you will, just trust me!

DJ Promo announced on Facebook that he had a new mix coming out, and after checking it out on YouTube, I found a new channel I'm certainly following. VinylFarmEU. A massive room with thousands of records, and a DJ in the middle. And Promo did nail it. A quick Google search and a Facebook search too, led me to Januskopf's mix, which I totally missed on Soundcloud. As I've heard quite a lot of Promo mixes over the years (I might be obsessed with him), I wanted to hear what Januskopf had to offer. And that's how DJ Promo led me to Januskopf. Simple, not complicated.

I can call myself a connoisseur from day two, when it comes to Hardcore, but with mixes such as this one, I'm introduced to some stuff I've not heard before. And I love it. Obviously during the emerging years (early 90s), a lot of music was made, and some weren't pushed to the forefront, Or maybe they were on underrated b-sides. I tried to listen to as much as possible in the 90s, which seems to be an impossible task. And Januskopf proves to me that I've not heard all what Hardcore had to offer in the 90s.

Obviously not counting his own productions, which are dope as hell. But I'm talking about these tunes:

01. Human Resource - Dominator (Reactivated By Steve Shit)

02. Quaternion - You Shut The Fuk Up

03. MD&A - As Far As You Can

04. O.G.s - Tik Tak

05. Dione - In The Mainstream

06. Too Fast For Mellow - Work That Mutha Fucka (Ultimate Forze)

07. DJ Alex - Break It Down Like This

08. Wedlock - I'm The Fuck You Man!

09. Januskopf - Chug-Jug-Chit-Chat

10. Bio-Forge - Nowhere 2 Run

11. Predator & Wicked XXX - Mind Explosion

12. Dione - Everybody

13. Januskopf - More Muscle

14. DJ Ruffneck - The Stickup (Rewind VIP)

15. Chosen Few - Name Of The DJ (Wicked XXX 2025 Remix)

16. Masters Of Ceremony - Hardcore To Da Bone (Masters Of Ceremony Dope Mix)

17. Reyes - New Jam

18. Painbringer - Hardcore Future

19. DJ Ruffneck Vs Rotterdam Terror Corps - Hooligan DNA

20. Januskopf - Flamethrower

Well, my faith has been restored slightly, as Januskopf played some fairly 'new' records, and a few old ones. A nice mix and match. Thank God, I thought I was going mad.

I do love it that there's a bunch of people doing their best to keep the 90s sound alive, including the DJ behind this mix. And he's doing some damage. Just listen to 'More Muscle', that's got some serious heft to it. But sorry to say, as good as it is, it cannot compete with 'Hardcore To Da Bone', especially in this version. That is some powerful anthem.

It's a solid mix, and I do love this concept. All vinyl (of course), and you are looking at a DJ surrounded by thousands of LPs. What's on them? Only VinylFarmEU knows. It looks like an impressive collection, and I'm guessing it is.

Januskopf's mix is a great one. One of the comment on YouTube even said (translated to English from Dutch): ''not my music but good mixed and good records''. That's a compliment itself, isn't it? Januskopf keeps the music flowing, and if you are interested as an up and coming DJ, have a look at his set, and others on this YouTube channel, and you might learn something from it.

A solid mix. One that will be on my next week playlist, that's for damn sure.

I have to mention the only 'bad' thing about this mix, which is 'Hooligan DNA', not RTC and Ruffneck's finest record. A bit boring and bland. That's all there is to it.
