- '88 was great but '89 is mine (2011)In 1989, I was 6. I heard of Rap and Hip Hop, but obviously the songs that appeared in the Dutch top 40 charts. The more obscure and rougher anthems did not appear on the charts. Pop music dominated everything in the 80s, and truth be told: as a kid you never listen to the lyrics, so I wouldn't have a clue what they were singing about. Only when I grew older did I understand the importance of Rap and Hip Hop. And of course how cool it is, as a genre. In 1989, the world of Hip Hop and Rap was different. Even House sounded different. I grew up listening to Pop music, and when Rap/Hip Hop did enter my life, I was hooked on it. I do believe it was around 1992 or 1993, and it was because my dad bought an album called 'Turn Up The Bass - Rap Volume 3'. And I freaking loved that CD. And much later, when his job took him all over the world (but especially the USA), he brought back some wicked albums. The ones you would not see in Europe. So it has always been in my life, since 1992. DJ Food made this mix 14 years ago, and it has had a lot of listens and comments. And I only discovered it a few days ago. I jumped on it, and wasn't disappointed. Again, in 1989 I was only 6, and not really into this music, but I caught up later in life. And I still love it. It was indeed a great year, and it spawned a lot of excellent tunes. And I bet you my life you will love them too. Tone Loc - On Fire (Remix) Gang Starr - Words I Manifest Chill Rob G - Court's In Session Beastie Boys - Hey Ladies Jungle Brothers - Jbeez Comin' Through Beastie Boys - Shadrach Beastie Boys - Shake Your Rump EPMD - Big Payback Ultramagnetics MCs - A Chorus Line Public Enemy - Fight The Power De La Soul - Say No Go (Say No Dope Mix) Most Wanted - Calm Down Hijack - Badman Is Robbin' Ice T - Lethal Weapon Twin Hype - Do It For The Crowd Jungle Brothers - Tribe Vibes Jungle Brothers - Beyond This World Cookie Crew - Born This Way Jungle Brothers - Good News Coming The D.O.C. - Portrait Of A Masterpiece Hijack - Doomsday Of Rap (Ice T Remix) De La Soul - Magic Number (123 Mix) Doug Lazy - Let It Roll Double Trouble & Rebel MC - Just Keep Rockin' This brings back memories. A lot of these records you don't hear on the radio. Maybe the radio DJs are too afraid to play good music? Or do I listen to the wrong radio stations? Obviously you love the music, and people are very passionate about its history, and it has given the world so many amazing rappers. And let's dive straight into that comment: I am not a fan of the Beastie Boys. All the other artists in this mix I do like, but the Beastie Boys' voices just annoy me. They might have moved a generation, but not me. I always find their voices unbearable, like they are constantly screaming, and that makes me very uncomfortable. I cannot listen to a BB song and enjoy it. Sorry. What I can enjoy, is music from De La Soul. ''Say No Go'' and ''Magic Number''. They are wicked anthems. Their voices do seem to work for me, their message appealing, but combine it with a wicked track, it just comes together nicely. De La Soul are the true winners to me. And 1989 was a wicked year for the world: we got these two awesome records. Imagine living in a world without 'Say No Go''. You can't. Besides the Beastie Boys songs, which I cannot approve of, it is a highly enjoyable mix. DJ Food made it worth our time. It has got some little mixing errors, but nothing to write home about. The only thing you should write home about, is the fact that 1989 is 36 years ago. And that's freakishly too long ago. It only feels like yesterday, right? And a mix would not be a finished product if it doesn't have the biggest hit of the 80s: ''Fight The Power''... Bring back Rap and Hip Hop from 1989. Much better than the current generation's music. Can't beat the classics, the oldschool! - Pulser Showcase Set (2025)Monday has come and gone. What a horrendous day at work. So much to do, in so little time. And it being cold and miserable outside, that doesn't help either. I needed something to boost my spirit up, and I do believe I found the right mix for this boring and yet very eventful Monday. One I've been notified about, and I've been playing over and over. Another mix by bbtomie, and this time it is focussed on the producer we all know, Pulser. I don't know much about Pulser, I had to Google it. Not much info on Discogs, but what is on that site, is all the information I need. Turns out Pulser has been around for a few years, and a lot of his records have been heard by many, including yours truly. All the ones used for this mix I've encountered before, and for the first time ever, I can have an hour (and 11 minutes) of pure Pulser madness. Pure Pulser. Didn't know I needed it that much! I do love a vinyl mix, but what I love more, is a proper showcase mix. It gives you a glimpse in the wonderful world of the producer. And it's obviously great if it's filled with a mixture of the well known and the more obscure anthems. Or just awesome records. Whatever it is, it needs to be done correctly. And bbtomie has done it correctly. 71 minutes of pure Trance. What a blissful thing to hear! Pulser - Cloudwalking (2005 Remix) Pulser - My Religion En-Motion - Truth (Pulser Remix) Matt Darey feat Marcella Woods - Beautiful (Pulser Remix) Insigma - Open Your Eyes Firewall - Sincere (Pulser Mix) Pulser - Square One Jose Amnesia - The Eternal (Pulser Remix) Pulser - Point Of Impact The Olmec Heads - Spiritualised Pulser - Lightwave Pulser - Cloudwalking A short but very sweet tracklist. It doesn't need to be long, as long as it's good. And this is certainly that. I've thoroughly enjoyed this mix. I wasn't aware I needed to hear Pulser records more than I should. The tracks are solid, and actually extremely good. Sitting here, at home, listening to this. I couldn't ask for more, right? And this mix has been on repeat multiple times, and it has not become dull or boring. bbtomie's selection is really great. All 12 records are ace, but the one that stands out the most, is 'Sincere' by Firewall. What a build up! You are ascended into Heaven when you hear this song. Well, not only does that apply to this song, but to all songs in this mix, but with this song, you reach Heaven quicker. I've got no negative comments or feedback. If your Monday is going swimmingly, or not, you are sill going to enjoy this mix. Obviously the request to bbtomie, is to make more of these mixes. More showcase mixes, please! - Addict - Early Hardcore mix (2025)If you are new to this page, you might not know that I'm a die hard Hardcore fanatic, since 1993. 32 years of Hardcore, that's a long time. But it is never too long if you truly believe and love the scene. And of course, you have to love the music, which I truly do. I cannot get enough of Hardcore. And have I got a nice mix for you all to listen to: a mix focussed on the early side of Hardcore. Not the really early stuff, the early 90s, but close enough. And also a brand spanking new track which commemorates the early work. Addict made a few mixes, and one of them is the current one you are about to listen to. It takes me back to the best days of Hardcore. You'll know what I'm talking about, once you have a look at the tracklist. Addict's mix contains the big songs you've heard and seen a million times, but they never become dull. They will remain powerful. Powerful enough to get all the ravers back onto the dancefloor and rave the night away, until the break of dawn. It's a nice mix of early and Millennium Hardcore. The late 90s were fantastic years. You have to agree with me. Addict picked a handful of records, made a very pleasant mix, and the result is what you are about to listen to. And he's gone all out: you'll know each artist, and you all know these records. If not, that's not a big deal: let this mix be your guide through the early years. And don't forget: there are other mixes out there too, for your pleasure and entertainment! Bodylotion - Make You Dance Masoko Solo - Pessa Pessa (Buzz Fuzz Mix) Buzz Fuzz - King Of The Beats Neophyte vs The Stunned Guys - Get This Motherfucker Paul Elstak - Play My Game Buzz Fuzz - Don't U Cry The Prophet - Big Boys Don't Cry Party Animals - Used & Abused (Amnesia Mix) The Stunned Guys & Darrien Kelly - Our Definition Of The Oldstyle DJ Lancinhouse & The Stunned Guys - Atmosfera The Masochist - No New Style? Mad-E-Fact - The Hustle Toni Salmonelli - Hey DJ Jappo & Lancinhouse - Exlxaxl DJ Jappo & Lancinhouse - Bring It Live DJ Promo & Solo - Psycho Style DJ Waxweazle vs DJ Promo - Fixxxed DJ Chosen Few - In Da Air Buzz Fuzz - Jealousy (Is A M.F.) DJ Dano - Starting Up Nosferatu & Tha Playah - Move As One Wonderful. The plethora of excellent songs in this mix. This shows to me how great the 90s were. And they will remain the best decade for Hardcore. Or was it the Millennium years? Oh, that's tricky. It is certainly not the current Hardcore sound. Ok, 00s first, then 90s, then 10s, and last 20s. There, I've said it. Addict's mix is an entertaining one. It's got the big anthems in here, like 'Exlxaxl'. 'Used & Abused', 'Big Boys Don't Cry', 'Make You Dance', and many more. Hit after hit, and they all make me very happy. But there are a few I just don't get. ''Bring It Live'' and ''In Da Air''. They've never been my favourite, and unfortunately they will never become my favourite records. They fade into obscurity compared to the other 19 big hitting anthems. They cannot compete, and certainly wouldn't be the records I want to hear on the dancefloor. Those are the records that make me want to visit the loo, or go for a drink. There are too many great records, but in this mix the one that gets me hyped the most, has to be 'Starting Up' by Dano. Brilliant record, and always takes me back to Thunderdome '96, the CD. What a monster anthem. Highly underrated. But let's not forget 'Move As One'. I only heard it a couple of days ago, in the Thunderdome trailer (for the upcoming event). Big anthem, and it does remind me of the glorious years. They should make more of these records, instead of the Uptempo nonsense. This is fantastic stuff. A great mix. Worth checking out. Trust me! - Darkcore & Doomcore Vinyl mix (2025)Doomcore, Darkcore. Two names I've not heard in a while. I thought it was always just embraced under the Hardcore umbrella, but they certainly are different. I remember a time when artists such as Simon Underground, Miro, Marc Acardipane, and more would release songs that were slightly darker, gloomier, and rougher around the edges. And I freaking loved it. I remember listening to Simon Underground's set at Thunderdome a million times, and Miro's ''Heroes Of Hardcore'' mix, or even Marc Acardipane's mix. They were solid, and the songs fitted my mood extremely well. Smogler and Sketler made this mix a couple of days ago, and the focus lies solely with tracks that can be categorised in the Doomcore/Darkcore categories. I just love the darker side of it. It doesn't necessarily mean it is faster and more bass-heavy, but there's an element to each song which makes it sound darker. Way darker than anything else out there. It doesn't need much to make a track sound darker. Maybe the easiest way to explain it, is ''does it fit as a track in a post apocalyptic world''? If the answer is yes, then it works. When the aliens or the Terminators take over the world and we have to scavenge the Earth for food and water, while the bombs are dropping around us, and we are hunted like prey, this is the kind of music I picture being played by the aliens. Or is that just my imagination? 100% sure that the aliens or Terminators would LOVE Doomcore/Darkcore. Suits them extremely well. Thankfull the aliens haven't landed yet, so we can only imagine what the world would look like, but you could just close your eyes during this 2 hour long mix, and imagine. That scary world will become visible in your head, thanks to Smogler & Sketler. Frozen - Soul Saver The Chicken Farmer - Black Earth The Overlord - Master Of The Universe Fifth Era - Untitled Reign - Hall (Maximum Mix) Hypnotizer - Innocent Minds Miro - Purple Moon (Miro Remix) The Outside Agency - Metal Slug Fifth Era - Untitled Pilldriver - Apocalypse Never Dr. Macabre - Danse Macabre Zanthrax - My Project Miro - It's Like XTC Ear Terror DJ Team - Like This Catscan - Enemy On The Run Marshall Masters - World Evacuator Taciturne - Der Toten DJ Arjuna & Beyonder - Shoot That Motherfuck (Raising Hell Mix) Dr. Macabre - Kiri Kudashi PCP's Phuture Project - Escape From 2017 (The Theme) Mescalinum United - Jupiter Union Evidence - Black Light Der Kraft - Creator Of Sound The Ravenous - The Splinter Army Of Darkness - The Future Is Ours (DJ E-Rush Attack Mix) Lunatic Asylum - Seven Unknown Artist - Untitled Evidence - Resist Freez-E Style - Awake In Neo Tokyo Freeze - Chaos In Neo Tokyo (Projected Damage Mix) Negative Burn - Gates Of Hell !? French Connection & DJ Radium - Bio Hazard Bass Protectors - Hicked Pitch Comababy - Machines On E Fifth Era - Homo Homini Lupus Stickhead & Don Demon - Conquer The World This brings back so many wicked memories. I did love the Doomcore/Darkcore sound from around the Millennium, and out of all the Heroes Of Hardcore CDs released, I do have Miro & Marc Acardipane high on the list. Promo's mix is the best, followed by these two awesome producers. This is a fantastic mix with some dark songs. It's weird to say, but I grew up with these songs, and I have adored them since the first play, and will do until the day I die. These are just timeless anthems. Underrated, but highly appreciated by those that know them. So many records, so many memories. I do believe I know 80-85% of these records, but the one I heard that blew me away, was one of those records I did not know. 'Fifth Era - Untitled'. The one played around the 12 minute mark. Boy, does that make my car tremble?! It certainly does. Wicked track, never heard of Fifth Era, but I certainly know they exist, which is enough for me! A wicked mix. It does go a bit wonky, the recording, or is that just me? But besides the little hick-up, it's still an extremely enjoyable mix, focussed on a forgotten style. I could listen to this for hours in a row, and not be bored stiff. This is the best of my youth, without a shadow of a doubt. One final comment: if you end your mix with 'Conquer The World', that's just the way to do it. End of a high note. And a very deep bass. - Magdelayna's Trance Mancave Rave IX (2025)I wasn't aware there is such a thing as the Trance mancave. I've heard of the term 'mancave', but I always thought it was a place men recede to, when they want to be left alone. But it seems that there's an actual Trance mancave, and I'm curious now. What would you find in there, besides massive speakers, stroboscopes, other lightning equipment, and some glowsticks? Anyone got any idea what it is you might find in such a cave? Would be interesting to visit one. At least we know it will be filled with excellent music. And it is by accident that I discovered this mix series. Magdelayna is the one who made this mix, and it's the ninth mix in the series. I've not discovered the others or had time to search through his channel to find them all, but I certainly will after I finish working today. But for now, let's dive into this edition. If you love Trance music, no need to look further. It's a nice mixture of everything, 'old' and new. 2 hours and 15 minutes long, and it will certainly keep you entertained. It is weird NOT to see my name on the list of people who listened to this mix the most, as I certainly have listened to it a lot. Certain tracks selected do bring me back to the golden years of Trance, and you'll quickly know which songs I'm talking about, after you had a look at the list below: Kate Bush vs Infusion - Running Up That Hill Holden & Thompson - Nothing (93 Returning Mix) Gabriel & Dresden - Tracking Treasure Down Gouryella - Ligaya (Ferry Corsten Mix) Katcha - Touched By God (4am With Pecker Mix) Karen Ramirez - Looking For Love (Trouser Enthusiast Joy Of Sex Mix) Hemstock & Jennings - The Passion (John O'Callaghan Mix) Klems - Area 101 Kamaya Painters - Endless Wave (Albion Mix) Kai Tracid - Your Own Reality (Tracid Mix) Klems - Binary Report Jan Johnston - Flesh (DJ Tiesto Mix) Hemstock & Jennings - Crimson Soil 2006 Gouryella - Tenshi Hurley & Todd - Sunstorm (DuMonde Remix) Headstrong - Close Your Eyes (Factoria Mix) John O'Callaghan - Big Sky (Agnelli & Nelson Mix) Ian van Dahl - Reason (Lange Remix) Giuseppe Ottaviani - Linking People A very nice tracklist, and a very nice mix. Magdelayna keeps everyone on their toes in his Trance mancave. Again, not sure what it is, but I'm intrigued. The mix starts off with a weird combination of artists. And I'm not 100% sure it's a track that I like. But it's certainly interesting. From that moment on, it's full steam ahead, Trance classic after another. And as previously stated, a bit of the 'old' and a bit of the new. The big names are all in here though, and it keeps us entertained throughout the 2+ hours. Few small and very minor mixing issues, but nothing to write home about. If smoothened out, it would be a very good mix. But what does make it excellent, are the two Gouryella songs. You cannot go wrong with Gouryella. Boy, did they make their songs timeless. Both songs are my favourite ones in this mix. If you are looking for an interesting mix, let this one take you on a journey. A journey to the mancave of our dreams. - Si Thompson - 20 Years Of 2005 UK Hardcore Mix (3-6-2025)I will not accept it. I cannot believe nor do I want to believe that 2005, which was a great year for not just UK Hardcore music, has been 20 years ago. Where the frick has the time gone? Why is time moving so damn fast? 2005 feels like yesterday, but it certainly isn't. 20 years ago. I cannot believe it. That's just insane, and also very disturbing. 20 years went by in a blink of a eye. Before you know it, we look back at 2005 in 2045. My God, I'm getting old too darn quick. It was a fantastic year for UK Hardcore. So many great anthems were released. Si Thompson selected a handful for the first instalment of this mix (the second one is on his Soundcloud page too, if you want to hear more). A nice moment to travel back in time (20 years) and to relive it again. Life was so much better, and we had such an extraordinary amount of wicked producers who made timeless classics. It was a struggle to pick between the two mixes, but I thought the first one was the one to pick, as it was the first one I found. The second one has more Scott Brown songs in it, which obviously gets me even more hyped up, but first come, first serve. So this is the one you are about to listen to. But don't worry, you will not be disappointed. Maybe only because of the fact that it's freaking 20 years ago since these songs were released. I simply cannot believe it. Bass X - Hardcore Disco (Plus System Mix) DJ Seduction - Rock Ya Body Robbie Long & A.M.S. - Trigger Hardcore Robbie Long & Stormtrooper - Dopest DJ DJ Gammer - That's How I Roll DJ Seduction - Raise Your Hands (Sy & Unknown Remix) Nu Foundation - Hardcore Generation Seduction & Gammer - Put Ya Hands Up Nu Foundation - Taking My Time Scott Brown presents Plus System - Bassline Of The Century Seduction & Sy - The Devil Brisk & Ham - Gettin' High Amazing! How one mix can take you back in time that quickly. I feel young again. How young? Well, young enough that I would be able to rave all night, and not be extremely tired. And obviously walk around with less weight. Those 20 years have caused damage to my body lol. This has got so many wicked songs in it. Me being a massive Scott Brown fan, I obviously would choose his records over anyone else's, but in this case, I might do something I would not expect to do on this Saturday: I'm going for another song. And it's 'The Devil' by Seduction & Sy. This was, at the time, one of the most played songs in my collection of UK Hardcore CDs. And it is still a wicked anthem. One that reminds me of 90s Happy Hardcore. Such a solid anthem. Si Thompson made yet another wicked mix. One that might make you feel slightly old, but at the same time you should feel grateful to have lived through such a fantastic year. We've all experienced UK Hardcore in what has to be a fantastic year to be alive. 2005 UK Hardcore? Sign me up. I want to go back in time and relive that year over and over. And if this mix wasn't enough for you, check out the second mix. Maybe he will do a third mix? Who knows, only Si knows. - Tiësto Magik Tribute Mix (2025)I have to start this review by stating that I've owned quite a lot of things Tiesto released during the late 90s and early 2000nd, but never actually bought/owned a Magik CD. I've heard of them and seen them in my local record store, but I never had the courage to purchase them. I seriously couldn't tell you why. Maybe because I bought lots of other CDs (not just Tiesto albums), and I thought that would suffice. I was wrong, oh so wrong. I know Tiesto won't read this blog, but if he does: I sincerely apologise for not buying these. I hope you can forgive me. Deep down inside, I don't think Tiesto is going to suffer financially after knowing I didn't purchase these albums. He's doing alright, I suppose. He's got a few pennies in the bank. And what he also has, is a wicked discography, including these Magik CDs. Again, I know of them, but never owned one. And I do believe I've missed out. Sean Furlong uploaded a mix a few days ago, which is a tribute to this CD series, and all the tracks are just banging. And I do mean this. The CD series didn't last that long. From 1997 until 2001. Not sure as to why? Maybe because in 2001 he started his own label, which was called Magik Muzik, and that title wasn't linked to the compilations anymore, but to the label. I'm guessing this, obviously. But a series like this one could have continued to the present day. Sean picked albums 3 til 7 and took some of his favourite records from these albums. And the result is an hour and a half of pure bliss. Trance euphoria. I couldn't wish for anything else. Ballroom - Come Along (Chrome Remix) Utah Saints - Lost Vagueness (Oliver Lieb's Main Mix) Schiller - Das Glockenspiel (Humate Remix) Airwave - Alone In The Dark (Original Mix) Chicane - Lost You Somewhere (Heliotropic Mix) Afterburn - North Pole Free Radical - Surreal (En-Motion Mix) Insigma - Open Our Eyes (Insigma Mix) M.I.K.E. - Sunrise At Palamos (Original Mix) Jan Johnson - Flesh (Tiesto Mix) Transa - Supernova (Original Mix) Oliver Lieb - Subraumstimulation (Main Mix) Tiesto - Flight 643 (Original Mix) Vincent De Moor - No Hesitation (Original Mix) Moogwai - Viola (Armin van Buuren Remix) Alibi - Eternity (Innercity Mix) Oh, the memories. Yes, I might not have owned the albums, but I still had CDs which contained these songs, so I'm fully aware of their existence. And I'm happy that I do. I could not imagine living in a world without Trance music. That must be one boring world, right? Sean has picked 16 amazing records. I still listen to them and finding them extraordinary. They've stood the test of time. The selection is really great, and it puts a smile on my face. Wouldn't you agree that these songs would get you stomping the floor and raising your hands harder and higher? Compare these to the present day Trance music, and they would not even have to compete. The Millennium years were the best. There are too many records in here. What I mean by that, is that there are too many great records in here. I love 'Sunrise At Palamos', I adore 'Subraumstimulation', I grew up with 'Flight 643' and raved the night to it, but 'Alone In The Dark' is just that one track that has outgrown the others, and is now on a different league. What a brilliant and timeless masterpiece. Sean's mix is dope. A brilliant tribute to Tiesto and his Magik CD series. Worth your time, trust me. We need more of these glorious Millennium Trance mixes. Life, and the music, it was all so much better back then. - Wildstylez Legacy Mix | The Sound of Hardstyle (2025)Last Thursday I spotted a short video, in which a song was played. Not 100% sure where the video was taken, I quickly Shazam-ed the song, and it turned out to be a Wildstylez song. I got curious, looked at the video again in more detail, and found out it was the Closing Ritual/Ceremony from this year's Defqon.1. Normally I'm all over those videos, but for whatever reason, I missed this year's show. I watched it in full at work, and I can tell you that my day at work, which was the next day, takes forever, but not this one: this one went by like never before! My colleagues must have thought I was an idiot, bouncing up and down on my seat, nodding my head from side to side, and being quite bouncy in general. I know for a fact that the majority of the people I work with, aren't into anything harder style music. Which is a pity, but it is what it is. It makes me stand out, and I don't need to share what I love. It is mine, and no one else's. So the Defqon.1 show was on and the last song, which was Wildstylez, just blew me the fuck away. And it ignited a spark within me. As glorious as the set was, and how awesome 'Encore' is, I needed more Wildstylez. And of course I landed back onto my trusted page, Soundcloud. And one of the first mixes I spotted, I immediately saved, and today was the first day I listened to it. The Sound Of Hardstyle uploaded this mix roughly 9 months ago, and it's all about Wildstylez. As much as I know of the artist, I did not fully anticipate to see such a tremendous list, and for me to only then realise that his impact in the Hardstyle scene is way beyond the standard. This man is a musical genius! The tracks he has made have been fantastic, and ground breaking. The man is a phenomena, and more. I wasn't prepared for this mix, and how euphoric I currently feel. I want to hear this over and over, and more of this. More of this awesome Hardstyle! Wildstylez - Children Of Drums Headhunterz & Wildstylez vs Noisecontrollers - Tonight Alpha2 & Wildstylez - Breathe The Masochist - LDMF (Wildstylez Remix) Wildstylez feat Michael Jo - Colours Of The Night Wildstylez - Encore Wildstylez - No Time To Waste Wildstylez - Hero Wildstylez - A Complex Situation Wildstylez & Brennan Heart - Reputation Game Wildstylez - Push That Feeling Wildstylez feat Niels Geusebroek - King For A Day Wildstylez - Revenge Wildstylez - Roots Wildstylez - Phantom Beat Headhunterz & Wildstylez feat Villain - Stuck In Ur Head Wildstylez - Deeper Than The Ocean Wildstylez & Aftershock - Never Bring Us Down Wildstylez - Shadows Wildstylez & Isaac - Lost In Music Wildstylez & Sound Rush - Glorious Wildstylez & Sound Rush feat Ruby Prophet - Untameable Wildstylez feat KiFi - Into The Wild Wildstylez & Brennan Heart - Lose My Mind Wildstylez - Timeless Noisecontrollers - Venom (Wildstylez Remix) Ambassador Inc - Put This On YouTube (Wildstylez Remix) Wildstylez - Delay Distortion Wildstylez - Daydreamer Headhunterz, Wildstylez & Noisecontrollers - World Of Madness Wildstylez - Pleasure D-Block & S-Te-Fan & Wildstylez - The Human Soul Wildstylez & Noisecontrollers - Cats, Jet & Breaks Wildstylez & Noisecontrollers - Different Story Wildstylez - Single Sound Wildstylez - In & Out This is obviously NOT an hour long mix. Well, you could put 36 records in an hour, but that wouldn't do each song justice. You need each song to be played as long as possible. And the end result is a 2 hour and 20 minute long mix, all focussed on Wildstylez. I could not be any happier now. Defqon.1's set just made me want to hear this mix, and once I hear it, I was hooked yet again. I do not think I've encountered a full-on Wildstylez set before, but I'm glad that I did. The euphoria level during this mix went through the roof, and hasn't really gone down. From his early work to the present day, all is in here, and it is magnificent. He is certainly one of the greatest Hardstyle producers, and one who knows how to make excellent anthems. He has worked with some of the greatest in the scene, like Headhunterz, Noisecontrollers, Sound Rush, Brennan Heart, and more. And by that comment, I could split my favourite Wildstylez song into two camps: one solo, and one made with others. So, here goes: as a solo artist, I have to give it to 'Encore'. Pure banger that one. And as part of a trio: 'World of Madness'. You cannot beat such a classic. The Sound of Hardstyle delivered an awesome Hardstyle mix by one of the greatest producers ever. There are too many positive things to mention about these songs, so I won't. The only thing I will say is, for you to jump on this mix, and embrace the Wildstylez. Let his music engulf you, and take over your weekend (what's left of it!). I know for a fact that this will be on repeat today, tomorrow, and the next 12 days! - 100 kilo Maarten @ Twidl vs Houseveteranen 20/09/2025100 Kilo Maarten. Don't know where I encountered him first. I'm guessing it was on a Thunderdome CD. I think it was the first Thunderdome CD released in 2005. I heard his 'Common Noise' and I was hooked. I did like that song a lot, and it's probably my favourite from that CD. But the name stuck with me, and over the years, I did hear his songs on varies occasions, and they always hit hard. His catalogue is interesting and full of awesome records, but I don't think I've ever heard a set by this man who's name resembles me a lot (my name is Martin and I'm actually a 100 kilogram in weight....). But I'm not as talented as 100 Kilo Maarten. He's much more talented than I'll ever be. And for the first time ever (I believe), it is time to listen to a 100 Kilo Maarten set. Recorded at Twidl vs Houseveteranen on the 20th of September of this year. I could not find any info related to this event, so I cannot comment on who played, where it was, etc. I can only comment on 100KM's set, which I've already devoured. This set ain't for the faintest of hearts. This is hard as hell. He goes and plays a wide variety of records, from different styles and genres. But they all stay true to the source: it needs to be hard as Hell. And 100KM delivers an awesome and very diverse set. It is a set that will either give you a headache (if you aren't into the harder styles), or will give you a lot of energy. And it's the latter for me. I'm now so pumped up, full of energy, I could run a marathon. But I simply cannot be arsed. Kucera - Brainrot Mickey Nox - Safire Green (Original Mix) Sour - Inac (Original Mix) CANCEL - Revolter (Original Mix) EAS - Guilt Free (Original Mix) 100 Kilo Maarten - We Always Do This (Ophidian Remix) The Silence - Age Of Steel Kilbourne - Sugarbee 100 Kilo Maarten - Dirty Low 100 Kilo Maarten - I Met The Devil Densha - Shifting Methods Sidephex - Natrium (100 Kilo Maarten Remix) Ophidian - Escape Densha - Monster (Marlen Delusional Faith Remix) 100 Kilo Maarten - Moeilijke Kick Gek SOVA - It's Time Kilbourne - Milkshake (Catscan Remix) Densha - A Sun That Never Rises (The Outside Agency Sunrise Remix) 100 Kilo Maarten - Severe Trauma Promo - Promo Bitch (Original Mix) Sidephex - War On Demand (100 Kilo Maarten Remix) 100 Kilo Maarten - I Don't Give A F uck Endymion, D-Fence - PSSY MTHRFCKRZ (Chaos Project & Sakyra Extended Remix) Catscan - Gravedigger (Extended Mix) Sigma 909 & Tripped - Blow Your Mind (Tripped Remix) Ophidian - Mananaggal Lenny Dee - Fuckin Hostile C.T.O. - What The Fuck (Original Mix) When you weren't expecting a mix to be this hard, this hits you. In your face. And it leaves you in pure pain and agony. But a mix could not hit me hard enough. The harder, the better. And 100KM does deliver an awesome set, full of new stuff, 'old' stuff, Hard Techno, Hardcore, Industrial, and so much more. This is as diverse as it can be. I've listened to this set over and over, and it does pack a punch. And it's full of energy. So many unheard of tracks are in here, and I love the fact that it's got a few 100 KM records in it too. I did not know I needed to hear more of him. Especially 'Moeilijke Kick Gek'. That kick is indeed difficult, but it goes through me like a knife through butter. I can feel this, deep down inside of my soul. Minimal, but effective. And that's how I love my music. You don't see sets like this one that often. So diverse, with a wide range of songs by different artists, all representing the harder styles. And I'm guessing that whoever went to this event and saw 100KM, you must have experienced a great set. I truly love it, and can't get enough of it. 100KM, as underground as he might be, he has gained a follower since 2005. 20 years later, his name still remains in my head, and remain in there for as long as I can remember.... - We've Still Got The Stamina [Records] (Round Three!) (2020)Sunday evening, and I'm feeling a bit lost. Not physically, I know exactly where I am. And if needs must, I've got my trusted friend Google to tell me where I am. But I'm talking more mentally, and that's all down to me missing something so badly, it kind of hurts. Stamina Records, you might have heard or seen the name before on this little site, is a label I truly miss, and I keep going back to their Soundcloud page, to hear those little snippets again. You don't know you will miss something this much, until they are actually gone. And they are, unfortunately, gone... Freeform is still alive, but it has obviously lost a great label last year. Started back in 2011, and stopped in 2024. 13 amazing years, and so many awesome records. I'm now going through this phase in which I absorbed everything Trance related, and Freeform suits that extremely well. A bit of Trancey elements, but faster, and more vigorous. That's the best kind of Trance. Maybe that's why Freeform appealed to me? What I do know, is that the songs released on Stamina Records are truly awesome records, and they did appeal to me, more than anything else. Back in 2020, M@rt!n-J released a few mixes, all focussed on Stamina Records, and I only reviewed two out of the three mixes. I don't really know why I did that, but that was 2020. It's five years later, and I was in dire need of some Stamina Records. The most obvious choice is Soundcloud, and going to his page. He's got a few mixes dedicated (which I've already reviewed), but I needed something 'new'. The third instalment was the one I missed, the one that got away, until today. A.B - Awaken (Intro) A.B - Alright (Fracus & Darwin Remix) Gercore - Legacy Finnbarr - Hidden In The Light (A.B & Cyrax Remix) A.B & Kevin Energy - Samsara Kounta Kulture - Valhalla A.B - Kielo (Digital Commandos Remix) Kounta Kulture - Edge Of The Universe Digital Commandos - Angels With Filthy Souls Digital Commandos feat MC Cyx - Rockin Up The Mic A.B & Substanced - Injustice Transcend - Domination (A.B & Synthwulf Remix) A.B & Douglas - TIWWA Tamerax - I Got The Beeps Tamerax - PDS (WGS Instrumental) This takes me right back. Roughly 6 years old, still sounding awesome. They were all taken from 'The Best Of Stamina Records 2019', which is obviously a wicked compilation, and it also contained a mix by the man himself, DJ A.B . Couldn't wish for anything more, right? M@rt!n-J's selection is really great. Proper Freeform, just the way I like it. And I do miss it a lot. This sound isn't like anything else out there. Give me Freeform any day. It is a style you have to embrace, but once it has you, it won't let you go. It's a fantastic mix, with a sad note: Stamina Records ain't no more. But at least we've got the music, which you can all find on Beatport. I do urge you to have a look, and relive the past: I know for a fact that this label released only the best. And 2019 was a stunning year for Freeform. Just look at the tracks in this mix, just have a listen to them. Just freaking fantastic! I do love both Digital Commandos records a lot. I couldn't pick a favourite, they are both dope, and have this hint of the early Freeform sound. It's another fantastic mix I only discovered/re-discovered 5 years after it was plonked onto Soundcloud. But at least I'm not too late to the party.... - DJ Fer-D Vs Jason S - Unleashed hell (2025)Storm Amy is currently creating a bit of chaos in the UK, and I'm guessing also in the Netherlands. She is certainly unleashing hell among us all. She blows, and she is causing devastation. Unnecessary, but she does what she wants. Not a great day to leave the house: it is best to stay in and remain safe. While remaining indoors, not getting wet and get blown away, let me remind you that there's a mix online you will appreciate, if you are into early Hardcore music. And kind of suits the current weather outside. It's a mix by Fer-D & Jason S. You would have definitely seen their names on this humble website. Not the first time I've encountered their names, but the first time they joined forces and made a fantastic mix together. Both have a undying love for Hardcore, and so do I. But they are more talented than I am. I cannot mix, not for love nor money. I'm talentless, but probably a bit more talented in the blogging side of life (I presume). Both came together to rekindle their love for the early Hardcore side of life, and decided to unleash hell. Not literally, but you know what I mean. They created a very cool mix, which contains a lot of forgotten gems. You know the ones: you don't hear them or see them that often. Not so much obscure as mostly forgotten, which is obviously a shame. We all grew up with these songs, but for whatever reason, they did not remain in the spotlight. But thanks to Fer-D & Jason S, we are reminded that they are still out there, waiting to receive the proper appreciation they deserve. See if you remember them all, and I want you to be honest: how many years ago did you last heard these songs? Jason S - Intro: Place Your Bets De-Viation Crew - De-State (Afterdark Mix) DJ Rope & Marco Bailey - Be Free (Wavesong Mix) 4Voice - Move Sperminator - No Woman Allowed (Men's Room Mix) Frankie Bones - We Can Do This (Brooklyn/Stormrave Mix) Tribal Force - Huga Chaka General Noise - Rotterdam Subway (Maurice Steenbergen Central Station Remix) Source Code - I'm Not A Number (Holy Noise Remix) Lenny Dee - Alpha 1 Sulfurex - Point Break DJ Bountyhunter - Short Circuit La Casa - Mutha F*cka House (Original Mix) The Ultimate Seduction - Ba Da Da Na Na Na (Rotterdam Mix) The Brain - Crasy One (Fucker Mix) English Muffin - You Should Have Been Smarter Yves DeRuyter - Calling Earth (DJ Gizmo Remix) Vitamin - Muffin' In Mokum Genlog - Revolution Wasting Program - Step Right Up Folks (Step One Mix) NIP Collective - Weekend Track Global Hardcore Source - Caveman Bass-D & King Matthew - The Witch The Salami Brothers - Wet Pizza (Mini-Salami Mix) 3 Steps Ahead - We Need Things That Make Us Go (Senna's Drive Mix) Omar Santana - Noise Dive DJ Skorp & DJ Pila - Mindcontroller George Vagas meets Mike D - Hyperdome (Heavens Version) Buzz Fuzz - Dreamgirl (Original Mix) Buzz Fuzz - The One Eyed Slut Jason S - Outro: It's Just Starting What a selection! This is great. So many unknown and forgotten anthems in here. It is always amazing to relive the 90s again, in such an awesome and wholesome way. Hardcore was great, and very experimental, and it gave us a wide range of tracks, with all a different sound to it. From the happier sounding songs to the harder and more darker songs. And to cram 29 into a 74 minute long mix, that's always very pleasant to hear. I think at least 90% of these songs I've not heard in a very long time. It's been a while. And sadly there's a track which I hoped I would have escaped from. Certainly a contender for one of the worst Hardcore songs ever made. Maybe it's because I'm not from Rotterdam, but 'Rotterdam Subway' isn't a great song. Kind of basic, and boring to the core. Hey, I did say they made some songs which were experimental. But this track never did anything to me. Which ones did? Well, 'Revolution'. Come on, what a beast of a track. And 'Weekend Track', another solid anthem. 'Dreamgirl' was such a dancefloor smasher. 'Short Circuit' still a ground-breaking anthem. And as difficult as it was, I pick 'Move' by 4Voice as my favourite. Which isn't technically speaking a Hardcore song, but one catchy and very memorable song. They should come together more often, Fer-D & Jason S. And as there are so many more great songs out there from the early Hardcore years, they must have a plethora of options: more mixes like this one please. Who can say no to the early Hardcore years? If you are saying no to it, please leave this page, and leave us gabbers alone. If you love Hardcore, you have to appreciate the early sound too. It's what made the current sound possible. Besides 'Rotterdam Subway', it has been a very pleasant journey. Storm Amy, you aren't the only one causing mayhem in my house. This mix is doing some serious damage too! - Trance Classics (Tiesto - Nyana Mix) 16.09.2025Let's address the elephant in the room. The elephant being: I've never owned this CD. I've seen this in my local CD store (Van Leest and Free Record Shop, and let's not forget Satisfaction Records, all located in Heerlen, Limburg), but I never picked it up, walked to the till, and bought it. I've owned many Tiesto CDs, but never this one. And I have absolutely no clue as to why I never put down the pennies for this one. This one has slipped away from me, which is kind of a pity. But I'm not afraid, as the world is our oyster, and the internet a useful tool. One which gives us the opportunity to listen to music shared with us. The Soundcloud channel 'Legacy Trance' uploaded this mix 13 days ago, and I've been all over it. I'm currently holding the top spot, the most amount of plays. And I will remain at the top, as this is one dope as mix. 3 hours long, but worth every second. I know time is precious and it's not always easy to find the time, but you have to make sure you find the time for this mix. For crying out loud, it's a proper Trance mix, and the songs did appear on a Tiesto album. What more is there to say? I've been on this mad Trance train the last couple of weeks, and I'm loving it. Going back in time, and in style. Today's mix is no exception. It's not the actual CD just plonked onto Soundcloud, this is Legacy Trance's take on the CD. Taken all the tracks (well, most of them), and mixed them in their order. The result? A three hour long mix with some fantastic records from 2003. That's 22 years ago, if you think about it. And some are just beyond classics: they have become timeless anthems. Which ones, I might hear you say. Well, these: Reinhardt Voigt - Supertiel Tom Mangan - Chutney (Size 9 Reinterpretation) Young Parisian - U Write The Rules (Solarstone Remix) Solarstone feat Sirocco - Destination Filterheadz feat Orange 3 - In Your Eyes (Blue Mix) Leama - Requiem For A Dream (Leama's Dream Mix) Holden & Thompson - Nothing (93 Returning Mix) The Roc Project feat Tina Arena - Never (Tiesto Remix) Smart System - Morgentau (Spring Mix) Planisphere - Totem Andain - Beautiful Things (Gabriel & Dresden Unplugged Mix) Tiesto & Junkie XL - Obsession (Frank Biazzi Remix) Mr Sam & Fred Baker - Forever Waiting The Roc Project feat Tina Arena - Never (Filterheadz Love Tina Remix) Motorcycle - As The Rush Comes (Gabriel & Dresden Sweeping Strings Mix) Catcher - Destiny Sunrise Cor Fijneman feat Jan Johnson - Venus (Meant To Be Your Lover) (Tiesto Remix) Conjure One feat Sinead O'Connor - Tears From The Moon (Tiesto In Search Of Sunrise Remix) The Ambush - Acapulco Midway - Inca DJ Ton T.B. - Electronic Malfunction GTR - Mistral Solid Globe - North Pole Tiesto - Nyana The Gift - Love Angel Solar Factor - Urban Shakedown P.O.S. - Remember Darren Tate & Jono Grant - Let The Light Shine In What a tracklist! This is a true trip down memory lane. Yes, I might not have had the actual CD, but I have still heard these songs in other mixes and /or on other albums. This is certainly a mix I've put on repeat for days on end, and will continue to do so, for days to come. Legacy Trance picked a wonderful album, and the tracks on it are great too. The tempo might be a bit 'slower' at the beginning, but it picks up later in the mix. Especially when two of my favourite songs are played. 'North Pole' and 'Urban Shakedown'. Two definite classics, but truth be told: this mix is full of classics. 'As The Rush Comes' a true dancefloor smasher, ' Venus' another epic anthem, 'Electronic Malfunction' a hidden gem, and the list goes on. The mix has a nice flow to it. Legacy Trance certainly picked some amazing anthems. And to realise that they are at least 22 years old. Old. but still extremely powerful. Tiesto released some really cool albums back in the day, and I still can't believe I never had the pleasure to hear this. Or have I? I had thousands of albums, and I'm 99% sure I never owned this one. But my memory, it gets a little bit cloudy over the years... I've only got love and admiration for this mix. I hope Legacy Trance will release more of these mixes. Interesting, and it certainly revitalises my love for the Millennium Trance. Like I needed more persuasion to embrace it more. I grew up with it, and have embraced it. And now, I can't live without it! - Ferry Corsten - Live At Innercity - Amsterdam RAI (1999)Innercity. An event I truly miss. Not many people might remember it, but it was legendary. It came out of nowhere in 1999, and stayed with us until 2006. They decided to end the concept, as it wasn't making any returns toward the end. It wasn't profitable, and I do believe it didn't sell out. Which is truly a pity, as the one I remember the most, the one that took place on the 30th of December 2000, was probably one of the best events I've ever been to. It was memorable, that's for sure. But what made me go to Innercity? Well, it was because of two CDs I purchased in 1999. I think I purchased Ferry Corsten's CD first, and then Tiesto. I did loose Tiesto's CD over the years, which wasn't a pity. As Ferry's CD was certainly much better. I kept that CD for years, and played it wherever I was. Such a banger of a CD, and I think that persuaded me to buy a ticket for the event that took place in December the following year. And I'm grateful that I did. Tiesto started the series, with his recording from the 20th of February of 1999, and Ferry followed. Many CDs would be released after, but they would never be 'live' CDs. I still liked them a lot, but yeah, toward the end, the music changed, and it wasn't my thing anymore. I think the last one I purchased has a rainbow colour theme? Was it the 2005 CD? I can't remember. It wasn't the Trance event we all grew up with. But we had Trance Energy instead, which was great too... until they pulled the plug on that later on... It is still a very memorable set, and Ferry's selection of records have stood the test of time. They are glorious. Boy, do I miss this Millennium sound Trance anthems. They don't make them like they used to, right? Rank 1 - Airwave Vimana - We Came Luis Paris - Incantation Gouryella - Walhalla Der Dritte Raum - Hale Bopp (Nick Warren & Starecase's Jackdaw Mix) DJ Jan - X-Santo (Transa Remix) Kamaya Painters - Cryptomnesia Chakra - Love Shines Through The Digital Blonde - Electra Starparty - I'm In Love (Ferry Corsten & Robert Smit Remix) Force Majeure - Redemption (The Thrillseekers Redeemed Mix) The Rapid Eye - Alderaan Jon Vesta - Gull Soundcheck - Mindrive L.S.G. - I'm Not Existing Solar Stone - Seven Cities (Solar Stone's Atlantis Mix) Wow, another trip down memory lane. Boy, does this make me happy. Glorious late 90s Trance anthems. Who is going to say no to that, right? Such a fantastic list, and the tracks are still extremely solid. You might have owned this CD, like yours truly, and you might notice that there are remix titles on here. Well, it turns out (after a quick Discogs check) that they never added them to the CD. The actual titles excluded the remix titles, which seems odd. But those were the days. They probably thought to release it as soon as time permits, and to reduce additional printing, let's leave the full title off. Just the artist and the song title. Who cares who made the remix? Well, I do. But the CD. Well, it's a fantastic CD. Innercity would become this fantastic event, and Ferry Corsten became even bigger than before. Not just a household name in the Netherlands, but globally. We all craved for more Ferry, and the years that followed, he certainly didn't disappoint us. Obviously Innercity gave us the biggest DJ and producer of all time. But I question this. From a producing point of view, I prefer Ferry. A fantastic CD, and so many great memories linked to it. And to start with 'Airwave', you can't go wrong. You know you've got a splendid hour or so ahead of you. And it's hit after hit. The one that I remember the most, is Vimana's ''We Came''. Such an underrated Trance classic. Yes, ''Gouryella'' is a masterpiece, and ''I'm In Love'' is also a smashing song, and let's not forget ''Seven Cities'', but ''We Came'' is beyond them all. 8 years later they would pull the plug. But 26 years later I am still talking about Innercity. One event series close to my heart. ID&T was thinking of revising it all, but 19 years after their last event... I don't think it's going to happen. Which is a shame. Well, at least we've got this CD. And all the fantastic memories linked to them. And obviously Innercity 2000 for me. The most pleasant memory of them all! - Iridium DJ Presents The Foundation of Hardstyle - The Qlubtempo Era - 2025Qlubtempo. I do recognise the name and its legacy, but I've never been to an event. It was mainly held at the Hemkade in Zaandam, which is a bit far out for this boy from Heerlen, Limburg, who had no friends who loved harder sounding styles, like Hard House and Hardstyle. Just me, and no mode of transportation back in the day. Well, I could have used the NS (trains), but to go on my own? Already did Mysteryland on my own, bit too much, if you ask me. We had our local events, but they obviously weren't near as good as Qlubtempo. It was legendary. And also kind of the birthplace of Q-Dance. You might have heard of this little organisation? Qlubtempo was unique, as it gave this nearly formed style called Hardstyle the opportunity to progress into one of the biggest sounds in the world. And of course did this event give Q-Dance (then called Qlass Elite) the movement it needed, to become bigger, bolder, and better. All because of this legendary name, Qlubtempo. The lifespan of Qlubtempo was short. The first event was held on the 24th of February 2001, and the last on the 13th of October 2007. It is kind of a shame that they let things disappear, but if it has runs its course, it's the most logical thing to do. As said before, I've not been to Qlubtempo, but I do remember seeing the flyers everywhere, even in my little town. And I do still own my school agenda, which has got a small flyer in it. Full circle, right? I don't think there were any CDs, like what they do with most events, such as Decibel, Mysteryland, Thunderdome, Qlimax, and more. But the DJ who made this mix, selected 19 records, and those records reminded him the most of Qlubtempo and the early Hardstyle years. And his comment ''nothing can beat that specific sound'' resonates with me. This is Hardstyle in its earliest form. And that's when I fell in love with it too! Brain Ovulation - Kicks & Bass (Acid Step Mix) Warmduscher - 10 Kleine Bassdrums (Pille Palle Mix) CJ Ash - Machines (Ultrasonic Remix) Cherry Dee - The Drums (Original Mix) The Beholder - Frequency Attack K.A.M. - Frequency (Direct Mix) Gollum & DJ Yanny - Shithead (Original Mix) Arne L2 - Rest In Peace (R.I.P) Trance Generators - Never In Danger (Y.O.M.C. Remix) Kenji Ogura feat Melanie Di Tria - Kreissage (Typ A) Pro-Tech - Out Of Control (DJ Wag Club Mix) Tankis & Savietto - Octopus (Lost In Case Remix) Bison Meets The Quakers - I Got Tonight (Original Mix) Blutonium Boy - Brainshooter (Club Mix) Klinisch Tot - Klinisch Tot (Wiederbelebungs Mix) Poeppelbaum & Helmedach - 25.17 (2nd Club Mix) Unit 4 - Relax Nitro Man - Indian Rave Technoboy - Hardrive (Lesson 2) This gives me goosebumps. This is a trip down memory lane. Iridium DJ selected some serious anthems from the golden years of Hardstyle. And this sound, you don't hear anymore. So unique, so Millennium years, so amazing. Why did we choose the current Hardstyle sound over this? Why didn't this last as long as it should have been? Bring this sound back, and bring it back NOW! What a trip down memory lane. So many fantastic anthems from a forgotten era. And to think that Qlubtempo was at the beginning of all of this. Insane, right? The birthplace of Hardstyle, the platform it needed to become big. I've owned these songs during the Millennium years, and I've listened to them a lot. I can dream them. So good were they, they've stuck with me, years after I last listened to them. And yes, they might sound a bit dated, but that's what makes it great. The nostalgia factor is great here. It was influenced by many other genres and styles, so you can hear a bit of Hardcore, Hard House, Techno, and more. No one knew that it was to become such a popular sound, one that took over the world! But it all had to start somewhere. And Qlubtempo could have been the birthplace. Where would we have been without it? And what would we have done without ''Out Of Control''? What a banger! Still a certified club banger! I've never been, and now my chances are out of the window. 18 years ago since the last event. I missed it. I should have gone, regardless if I had friends or not. But you can't turn back the time. Only remember the good old days (if you experienced them). And to me, the early Hardstyle sound, always brings a smile on my face. Nothing sounded like it, and nothing today sounds like it. - Trance Classics Reworked 002 (2025)Saturday afternoon. It supposed to be raining and be windy today, but it turns out, it was actually a very pleasant day. Did some lovely gardening, and went out shopping. No wind, no rain, only sunshine. It won't last forever, and we are to expect some shitty weather to hit our way. But for now, let's embrace the last bits of Summer and the sunshine. Obviously it doesn't look as great as the image selected for this mix by Andresen, as I'm missing a beach, the sea, drinks, a sun lounger, a hat, and a magazine. And of course the location it was taken. It's probably hundreds of miles away from the UK, where the weather is always better.... I've been riding the Trance ride for a few weeks now, and I'm really enjoying it. The more, the merrier. I could not resist a Trance mix, even if I could. I wouldn't want to do that. But when it comes to Trance, it is always great to hear the classics, but what can be perceived as something even better, is to hear versions of those classics, which are even better than the original. That's the sole meaning behind Andresen's mix. The classics, reworked. It's a fantastic concept, and it turns out, it works. I've heard many mixes over the years, and I do believe that this one has been on repeat the most. The tracks are strong, and their versions of these classics are just powerful. Some are even better than the original. That doesn't happen that often in general, but it seems that Andresen, who made this mix, found 16 tracks so damn good, I would class them as better version of the well known classics. And they are well known, trust me. How known? Just have a look at this list: Solarstone - Solarcoaster (Marsh Remix) Chicane - Offshore (Grum Remix) Duderstadt - Muhanjala (Dylhen Remix) BT - Mercury & Solace (Helsloot Remix) Orbital - Belfast (Yotto Remix) Karen Overtron - Your Loving Arms (Jose Amnesia Remix) Paul van Dyk - For An Angel (Kolonie Remix) Dirty South & Ferry Corsten - Carte Blanche Faithless - Not Going Home (Eric Prydz Remix) Agnelli & Nelson - Hudson Street (Paul Arcane Remix) Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar (Paul van Dyk's XOXO Remix) Delerium feat Sarah McLachlan - Silence (AVIRA Remix) The Blizzard - Kalopsia (Matt Fax Remix) Vincent De Moor - Fly Away (KhoMa Remix) Rapid Eye - Circa- Forever (Markus Schulz Down The Rabbit Hole Remix) Rank 1 - Airwave (Giuseppe Ottaviani Remix) Wonderful. Obviously I am well aware of the classics, and so should you, but the majority of these tracks I've never encountered before. You know, those reworks. And I wasn't ready for this mix. I've had this on repeat for days, and it's been a pleasant journey throughout. And it's been on a journey: when going to work, this has been on. And for good reasons. This is a fantastic mix. I've been following Andresen for a while, but don't think I had the opportunity to review a mix. But this one certainly sets the tone. A fantastic mix, GREAT songs. And I'm not kidding. You will hear records in a different way, under a different light, and you will wholeheartedly appreciate these reworks. And if not, please leave this site right now. Normally I would point out the best record in this mix, but now I will point out an earworm. If you aren't familiar with that term: it's a song that remains in your head for hours and/or days. ''Not Going Home'' is just that track. My God, did Eric Prydz make the perfect remix of that song. It isn't the best song in this mix. It's certainly catchy AF, but not the best. I've got to give it to ''Mercury & Solace'' by BT, remixed by Helsloot. Wonderful track. Original is great, but this one just hits hard. More of these rework mixes please, Andresen. I am currently the number 1 fan, and I will remain at the top for a while. Bring back the classics, but with a slight twist. And that twist is exactly what I needed to hear right now. It's getting dark and a bit nippier. Time to turn up the volume and let this mix heat me up! - Matheus - Trance Classix 002 - Vinyl Mix (2025)The last couple of days have been a bit weird. Back to work after a lovely holiday, and yet I had to have the car service, and on Thursday it's going to a body shop to have repairs carried out after an accident I had. And I'm sitting at home, tanned arms and face, already sitting in a hoodie and trousers. Long trousers. To protect my body from the colder temperatures. The only thing that might keep me warm during the day, is music. And I've got something nice and cosy for you all today! Before I went on holiday, I did find three mixes in a row, by someone called Matheus. All focussed on classic Trance, so I had to favourite them, and listen to them at a later stage. I've reached that stage now, so I'm listening to the second instalment of the three mixes. Why not the first? Well, I do like to live on the edge, so I've gone right in the middle. And why not? Who gives a crap? As the title mentions, this is a vinyl only mix. That's great, love a bit of vinyl. But the main star of the show is of course the tracks selected by Matheus. Are they any good? Well, I have to say that they are. All were released during the first half of the Millennium years, and you know it when I say that, those were the best years for Trance. Come on, nothing can beat those wonderful anthems. But which anthems, I hear you asking? Well, are you ready for the tracklist? P.O.S. - Gravity (Arksun's Voyage Mix) Morpheus - Signs (Original Mix) Rapid Eye - Stealing Beauty (R.E. Mix) Mono - Rise (Smith & Pledger Mix) Nitromethane - Time To Die (Seraque Remix) Tranquillity Base - Razorfish (Above & Beyond Bangin' Remix) Modulation - Spirits (Cosmicman Remix) Robert Nickson - Spiral (Original Mix) Kyau vs Albert - Velvet Morning (Aalto Remix) Goldenscan - Only With You (Original Mix) A short but very satisfying tracklist. 10 tracks, roughly an hour long mix. What can go wrong? Well, absolutely nothing, that's for sure. Matheus has made 3 interesting mixes, but this one is the one which has my attention today. I might review the other ones at a later stage, or any newer ones, depending on if Matheus releases more mixes. But for now, all three are great, but this one hits the hardest. A few well known anthems, and a for more obscure anthems you don't hear that often. A nice selection of tracks, and they are certainly keeping me warm. Of course I had to pick Nitromethane's record 'Time To Die'. What a glorious anthem. Fantastic remix. This record just does it more than all the other ones. Still great records, the other 9, but this one just immediately takes me back to the early noughties. And it certainly embraces the sound from back in the day. A wonderful mix. Worth checking out. Check it all three, if you've got a few hours spare. Why not? Live on the edge, mate! - Where Art Thou Cyrax! [Mixed By M@rt!n-J] (2025)Where are thou, Cyrax? That's a brilliant question to ask. What has happened to Cyrax? Who has seen Cyrax? It's been a long time since we've heard or seen anything from Cyrax, and it's too damn quiet. And his label, Energy Field, has been too damn quiet too. Since that label emerged, it had some amazing anthems released on it. We need more Energy Field, we need more Cyrax. Unfortunately his social media pages have been a tad quiet. Hopefully he's OK. When he launched his musical career, I started following him. He has released some amazing records, and 13 of them are found in this mix, made by DJ M@rt!n-J. According to the info on this mix, Cyrax is a self proclaimed model, businessman, author, DJ, and producer who also owns Energy Field record label. I can see that, him being a model. Businessman? Yes, sure. Author? That I don't know. But DJ and producer, hell yeah, of course I would, as since his first release I've been following him, He's been on the forefront of Freeform with these records. And over the years he's been working with well established names such as Transcend, Technikore, A.B, Arkitech, and he's made some astonishing remixes. He's a true Freeform pioneers, and unbeknownst to him, has he made one of the greatest Freeform anthems of all time. Yes, that's quite the statement, but he sure has. Obviously in this mix do we dive deeper into the rich history of Cyrax. And if this is your first time hearing the name Cyrax, don't you worry.... just embrace the name, let the music enter your soul, and embrace Freeform as it should be... Cyrax - You Know Where To Find Me A.B - This! (Transcend & Cyrax Disco Mode) A.B & Cyrax - Dark Matter Transcend & Cyrax - Follow Me Transcend & Cyrax - Insight Transcend & Cyrax - Breathe Again A.B & Cyrax - Binary Star Transcend & Cyrax - Lucia Finnbarr - Hidden In The Light (A.B & Cyrax Remix) Technikore & Cyrax - Difference Transcend & Cyrax - I'll Show You The Darkside Cyrax & Rikki Arkitech - Destroyer Of Worlds Cyrax & Rikki Arkitech - Tyrant What a wonderful tracklist. And you know it, I know each and every song. I've listened to these multiple times over the years. I'm one of the few who actually appreciated Freeform, and will devour anything that resembles this awesome music genre. It has to be said that Freeform is unfortunately under appreciated, which is seriously insane. How can we live in a world where this music exists, and we don't all love it? Trance with a kick. Who doesn't want to hear that? Who is actually interested in current day kiddie Trance? We need more of this, and we need it right now! This is Trance's younger but more established brother, which deserves more credit for what it is, and what it could become. Over the years I've said it multiple times, but I will reiterate it again: Stamina Records AND Energy Field are my favourite Freeform labels out there. Nothing can beat these labels. The tracks released on both labels are astonishing. The one track that embraces both labels and is probably my favourite Freeform track of all time, is ''This!''. I know the original version was released on Stamina Records, not sure if Transcend & Cyrax's Disco Mode was ever released? That track just brings out the best in me, and also the worst. The worst being that I cannot listen to this song with the volume on a low setting. It goes all the way up. Crank up the volume, and let everyone hear what I'm listening to. Fuck the world, this is the best of the best. Absolute monster of a track, and I still put it on repeat, hours in a row. I love this record. Truth be told, all 13 tracks are amazing. Cyrax' has certainly left an amazing impact in the Freeform scene. I wish he (and all the other producers) would get the credit for making heavenly music. This should take over the world, not the Uptempo/Frenchcore/''new'' Techno or anything the youngsters listen to. This is the shit, and we should embrace it. Freeform For Life. M@rt!n-J has made yet another epic mix. Keep them coming. But please make more ''Where Are Thou'' mixes for other Freeform producers/DJs who we all miss. We need them to know we truly appreciate their music, and hope it is revitalised. Cyrax, where are thou though? - Epic Trance - Vol. 1 (Vinyl Only) (2025)We are back! After a short break, and a lovely few days in Malta, we are now back. And we are going to present to you more and more exciting mixes, starting off a new one made by bbtomie, and it was presented to me just as I was about to go on holiday, so I took the mix with me, and played it out loud on our lovely 4 star hotel, all inclusive (not bragging though). I was happy and content with the entertainment provided in the hotel, but it wasn't enough for me. I needed a bit more, and this was a nice and warm welcome to an already hot island. The weather was great, the food too, the people were just awesome, and our hotel room music was astonishing. What I mean by hotel room music, I mean this mix. It has been on repeat, and I am currently holding the top spot for the amount of plays. Of course I could not let this one slide, as it contains Trance music, and it contains the records you do not hear that often. And it's also on vinyl, which is another added bonus. bbtomie's mix does contain the right tracks for a summer holiday in Malta. I'm not kidding: the sun setting in the evening, sitting on the balcony, and just enjoying the sounds of the waves... and hearing this in the background. I felt like I was in paradise. Not sure if the other guests appreciated the music, but at least I wasn't kicked out of the hotel for being a nuisance. So I'm happy that I found this mix and it came with me to the wonderful Mediterranean island. You'll be pleased to see the tracklist, trust me. You certainly will be: Allegro - Moments In Love Digger - Church Of Ra Astura - Orion's Belt Randy Boyer & Hydroid - Strike Again Lemon & Einar K - Anticipation Will Holland - Roccata Marcos - Around In Circles (Part Two) Will Holland - Magicka (2004 Rework) John O'Callaghan presents Mannix - Mercury Sebastian Brandt - So Cold Dreas - Sonic Rush Artic Quest - Strings & Guitars Active Sight - Adrenalin Jon O'Bir - Ways And Means (Extended Mix) See, didn't I tell you that bbtomie used records you don't hear or see that often?! Was I lying? No, I certainly wasn't. You don't hear them that often, which is kind of a pity. They deserve the big stage, and more credit. As they are wonderful Trance anthems. No nonsense, pure nostalgia anthems. The selection is great, and it has brought a smile on my face. They are all quality anthems, And they've also made each sunset seem better, for a strange reason. I cannot describe what Trance does to me, but it only does good things to me. The selection is great, and when you hear Will Holland records, you know you are to experience heaven. 'Magicka' is such a monster anthem. And the way the track builds up, you don't hear that any more. Typical for Trance anthems from around 2004, but not for Trance anthems 21 years later. This kind of build up, and prolonging of the climax, that's just unheard of. A wonderful mix, and one I will keep playing for a while. It will certainly be in my top 10 of most played mixes of 2025, and whenever I think of my holiday in Malta, I will always smile, knowing I had this mix with me, entertaining me. And even my wife appreciated the mix, and she's very hard to please (music-wise, nothing else though!). Go and check this mix out! You won't be disappointed. - Happy Hardcore Full Collection (1995-1997)Apologies for the poor image above, I'm not very skilled with Microsoft Paint. I tried my best, and hopefully you will get the meaning behind the image and the review. This is a review dedicated to the mighty and legendary Happy Hardcore CD series, released on Arcade, which only ran for 2 years, but has left a mark on the Hardcore history. The legendary Devils have been synonymous for anything Happy Hardcore related, like the Wizard become the logo for anything Thunderdome related, and the massive skull for the Masters of Hardcore brand. The devils have been around for 30 years now, and it's time to celebrate. Not only their 'birthday', but also mine. And on my birthday, I always go back to my roots, which is this majestic series. Obviously, because on the sixth album there is a song dedicated to everyone's birthday, but also because this series as a whole makes me happy. Happier than I could ever be. And it's time for it to receive a proper review, after so many years. As you can see, top right hand corner, the first in this series did not have the Devils portraited on the cover. Ben Liebrand actually designed the first one, but then the second one had to be created, and they decided to give it its own 'logo', or brand. Also, as you've noticed, there are only 7 Happy Hardcore CDs and one 'The Mix', but there were in total 9 CDs, so why not mentioned the 9th? Well, because it's a rarity. And I've never even seen it, or heard of it. It's that rare. And I didn't have room for the 8th on the image. Told you my Paint skills are crap. Happy Hardcore became back in 1994, and Arcade had to jump on this commercially successful and viable source of income, and created this short lived series. The first time I came into contact was when the second CD was released, in 1995. My mother never allowed me to have anything with 'Thunderdome' on the cover, so at least I was saved by the Devils on the cover. They looked innocent enough, and my mother fell for it. Once I discovered Happy Hardcore, I was sold. Those happy vibes suited me a lot, and during the mid 90s you could not escape those anthems. On the radio, on the TV, and even in the top 50! I was too young to go out clubbing, but at the school disco they did play it. Hell, I even forgot to mention the school agenda. Never owned it, as I was more focussed on Thunderdome, but I did see them. Difficult decisions to make: the Devils or the Wizard? What to walk with for roughly a year? The lifespan of this series was only 2 years, but I always assumed it was longer than that! They faded away into obscurity just before the Hardcore bubble burst. Maybe they knew the impending decline of Hardcore in general? Judging on the 8th and 9th CD in this series, they become single CD only (only 1 CD instead of 2), and the quality became less and less. Happy Hardcore 2 to 7, those were the best, without a shadow of a doubt. But what was on each CD? Check out the rear of the CDs, click on the image below for each tracklist: They were so influential to me, I still listen to them, 28-30 years since they were released. And I can dream each and every CD. I know exactly which song starts when, and when the beats kicks in, and more. Thunderdome and Happy Hardcore, two amazing CD series I have imprinted in my brain forever. Happy Hardcore was everywhere, and this wasn't the only series out there. There were many, trying to gain a few pennies out of it. It was everywhere, and commercially a massive thing. Some might say that it caused the downfall of Hardcore in general, and I do concur, to some level. Yes, you had your extremely crappy Happy anthems, which had no real affiliation with Happy Hardcore, but were just made to 'cash' in. But overall it was a wonderful scene with some talented producers and DJs. Even the big producers, the ones who made Hardcore, made some Happy Hardcore anthems. They might not look back in fondness, but I do believe they should. As the music was great. Each album had some absolute gems on it. And now the difficult task to note them all down. Here goes: Happy Hardcore CD 1 : Simon C - Fuck You Happy Hardcore CD 2 : DJ Weirdo & DJ Sim - Go Get Busy (Extended Rave Version) Happy Hardcore 2 CD 1 : Interactive - Who Is Elvis (Radio Rave '95 Mix) Happy Hardcore 2 CD 2 : Happy Toons - I Want You Happy Hardcore 3 CD 1 : Cixx - Ride To The Rhythm (Radio Mix) Happy Hardcore 3 CD 2 : Planoforce - Listen To Me Happy Hardcore 4 CD 1 : Cixx - Clap Your Hands Happy Hardcore 4 CD 2 : Eruption feat Katherine Woods - Let The Music Happy Hardcore 5 CD 1 : Mac Project - Everybody (Hard) Happy Hardcore 5 CD 2 : Bertocucci Feranzano & Toni Salmonelli - Daddy Snow (Original Version) Happy Hardcore 6 CD 1 : JDS - Higher Love (DJ Slipmatt Unreleased Edit) Happy Hardcore 6 CD 2 : Cixx - Gimme Da Dope Happy Hardcore 7 CD 1 : Cherrish - Confusion Happy Hardcore 7 CD 2 : Attaboy - For America (Hardcore Mix 2) Happy Hardcore 8 CD : Gian Pierro - Ready To Rave (Radio Mix) Happy Hardcore 9 CD : Dyewitness - We Are Observing The Earth Happy Hardcore School Agenda CD : No Velocity - Give Me Body Happy Hardcore The Mix CD : Justin Time - Help Me (Demo Mix) As you can see, I am not your 'standard' Happy Hardcore fan, I do actually love it and appreciate it. Would be interesting to find out which song you love? Go and check the tracklist out, and leave a comment below. I can imagine that there are people out there who detest this compilation series, and I truly understand it. But also understand that this brought a lot of people lots of memories, and actually the music ain't that bad, you know? Well, you had your crappy anthems, but they were on each compilation. Even the mighty Thunderdome had a lot of crap songs on it. Still made people happy though. If you grew up in a world where there was no Happy Hardcore, go and investigate. Not every CD is out there, but worth looking out for. Investigate what once was, and what we deeply miss. They don't make them like they used to. Maybe that's why I made the step to UKHC back in the early 2000nd? It came close to the Happy sound from the 90s. Who knows? Always happy, and remain happy. That's my philosophy. And this series meant a lot to me. It will never leave my sight. OK, number 1, 8, 9 and the School Agenda one can disappear. But 2 til 7, yeah, those are the cherished ones. Probably the best albums I've ever listened to. And that's high praise. If you were around in the 90s, you might have seen the 'Happy Rave' CDs, which were released in Germany. Basically the 'same' CD, but different title. And the numbering was off too. Weird. Shame it only lasted 2 years. But Arcade was ahead of the curve, the pending demise of Hardcore. Wish they would give it a proper send off instead of Happy Hardcore 8 & 9. But those were the days, and we cannot change what was. Only dream what could have been....
- House Vol. 1 (2025)Two mixes done already, third one on its way. This time it's a House mix by Dare Erickson. The previous two mixes I reviewed were more focussed on Breakbeat Hardcore, but this time we are going to delve into House music. One of the genres I grew up, and I truly adored House music. Yes, the 80s were ace, but the 90s House music (to me) just sounded better. And then the Millennium happened. Christ, did we get some awesome tunes? We sure did. The mix you are about to listen to, has records from 1996 to 2001, and everything in between. And yes, it contains only the biggest anthems. Is that a bad thing? Absolutely not, we do love the classics, the anthems that shook a generation, and got them dancing on the dancefloors all over the world. And Dare's selection does contain the big hits: you'll know what I'm talking about once you see the tracklist. Not always in the mood for House music, because sometimes it gets on my nerves a lot. Not every tune ever released is great, and not all tunes are awesome. It all depends, I believe. You need to be in the mood, and I'm certainly ready for it: a holiday is about to happen, and we desperately need it. It will be a pleasant journey to the Sun, sea, and hot weather. And of course will there be some nice tasty treats and beverages to keep us entertained. And I'm guessing, and I'm might be wrong, also some excellent tunes. Might even be any of these, who knows? Soulsearcher - Can't Get Enough David Morales - Needin' U (Original Mistake) Stardust - Music Sounds Better With You Superfunk - Lucky Star Cassius - 1999 Bob Sinclar - Feel For You Roger Sanchez - Another Chance Moloko - Sing It Back (Boris Musical Mix) Spiller - Groovejet (If This Ain't Love) Shakedown - At Night Tori Amos - Professional Widow (Armand's Star Trunk Funkin' Mix) Kings Of Tomorrow - Finally (Danny Tenaglia's Return To Paradise Mix) Yes, yes, yes. The classics. You know them all, and you love them all. We all grew up with these blasting at our ears during the late 90s and early 00s. They were everywhere, and you couldn't go to a party without hearing these at least once a night. They were everywhere: buy a compilation back in the day and they would certainly be on there. The memories. So many great memories. Being young, a teenager, dancing until the Sun came up again. And drinking a lot. Yes, I used to drink a lot, but not anymore. Whatever I did as a teenager, don't blame me: I was young, innocent, and somewhat stupid. At least I had the music to get me through, and it made me dance throughout my younger years. And car journeys were less arduous with these blasting through the speakers. Sun's out, windows rolled down, and these tunes were playing. Life was much better (and petrol was cheaper!). We hear these songs on a daily basis, but that's just how powerful they are. Timeless classics, and absolutely nothing wrong with them. I do love them all, but ''Needin' U'' is probably the anthem that got me dancing the hardest. What a classic, pure masterpiece. DareErickson's mix is great. At the right time, and I'm certainly going to listen to this on my holiday destination. You know it just feels right. - Tiesto Trance Classics Vinyl Only Mix 1999 - 2008 (2025)When was this picture taken? Must have been around the late 90s, early 00s, right? He looks so young, and probably unbeknownst to him, would he become the world's biggest DJ in a few years. And would we have known for him to become this DJ who changed scenes, and now plays music so far removed from his original style, we crave for him to make a proper return to the good old days? No one could have predicted DJ Tiesto's rise to fame, and how long he's been at the top of his game.... I do obviously prefer the Millennium Tiesto. Can't beat those glorious years. I even witnessed him at Innercity, before he became this global entity, this superstar DJ with his own event, hit after hit, and even playing at the Olympic Games. Tiesto was certainly important to many of us, and his legacy is what keeps us going, and revisiting the good old days. Luke Thompson's latest mix goes back to the late 90s and goes all the way to 2008. And the set is an appreciation mix, to showcase what was great music from those years, and which records Tiesto would have played. Obviously, my view is, as long as he's happy. But he is missed though. The noughties were great years, and Tiesto (alongside others) was certainly one who lead the way. And that sound, you cannot recreate it. That 00s sound, I miss it. It just sounds so much better, more wholesome. And it's the sound I grew up with, so obviously I have more of a connection with those Trance anthems compared to the current day Trance. Which tracks did Luke select for his appreciation mix? Well, these: Hidden Sound System - I Know Mojado - Naranja (Dimitri Andreas Vission) Substate - Horizon Scott Bond vs Solarstone - 3rd Earth Activa - AirFlow (Mac Zimms Remix) Out Of The Past - Mystery (Fred Baker vs Vincent Gorczak Remix) Estuera - 7 Clouds James Holden - Horizons Phynn - Lucid Tiesto - Adagio For Strings (Fred Baker Remix) Dan Stone - Road Test (Signum Remix) The Freak presents EXO - Above The Clouds (Mark Norman Remix) This is a fantastic tracklist, with some forgotten gems. It makes me happy to relive the golden years, so to hear them again, brings a smile on my face. And the smile only gets bigger and bigger. It turns out, and I've only recently discovered it, I'm a huge fan of Fred Baker! Any tune where Fred Baker was involved in, I love. That sound Fred Baker had, is just so damn great. And of course do I choose both records as my favourite in this mix. ''Mystery'' and ''Adagio For Strings''. Both epic anthems, and have stood the test of time. Luke's mix contains some amazing songs, and the hour and 20 minutes do fly by. You are experiencing the same sounds we heard during the decade in which Tiesto rose to fame. Those anthems really made me feel young again, being excited to hear a Tiesto mix. Hell, it didn't even needed to be a Tiesto mix. Any Trance mix by any Trance DJ from those years would have suited me well. I miss that sound. One mix I will certainly listen to when I'm on holiday, in Malta, next week. I bet you my life this mix will go down well. Sun, sea, snazzy drinks, and this Trance classics mix. What else could you wish for? Well, maybe good food. But as Malta's local delicacy includes rabbit, I'd much rather just skip food. - Hel:sløwed- Borderlands 089 (Guestmix by Rígur Lárus) (2025)Borderlands. Wasn't that the name of the film which flopped, which was based on a game? The game itself is great, but the film was horrendous. Not experienced falling asleep twice during a film. It didn't capture my attention, but today we are not talking about the film. Hell, who even cares about the film? Nor the critics nor the fans cared. Let's talk about Borderlands, the one you do care about. Or, if you are like me, never encountered before, and you are intrigued. You are interested. Borderlands, can't be worst than the movie? And you are correct. This time we are entertained by someone who's a regular on this page, who goes by the name Rígur Lárus. You know the name, you know his awesome mix series. But now he was asked to make an appearance on the Borderlands mix series (not the film, people!). If you've not seen or heard of this mix series before, which falls under the ''Hel:sløwed'' umbrella, here's a short overview: it's a brand new project by Misja Helsloot and Michael de Kooker. Voila, that's all you need to know. And it's sufficient enough for you to proceed to the actual mix. I am a fan of his mixes. He stands out, and makes each and every mix extremely interesting. His mixes aren't normally an hour long, so this Borderlands mix is a nice bonus. And the boys behind ''Hel:sløwed'' do not have many guest appearances from other artists, so it must feel like an honour, right? Well, they've asked the right individual, and it is the perfect mix for the weekend. You are looking for something nice, relaxing, mellow, and smooth? Look no further. Khainz - Fall To You (Extended Mix) Joris Voorn - Liquid Apropos - Up High (Original Mix) James Harcourt - The Last Time (Original Mix) Olivier Weiter, Forniva - Neon Sky (Original Mix) Woo York - The Red Room Olivier Weiter, Forniva, Veljko Jovic - In The Ocean (Estiva Remix) Yodh - Is It Real (Chomba Remix) OTAVA - Pillars Of Creation (Original Mix) Jamie Woon - Night Air (Huminal's Disco Edit) Fahlberg - Transition BT - Flaming June (PARAFRAME Extended Remix) Michelle Bench - SXM Vibes (Original Mix) Moonwalk - Born Again (Original Mix) Bound, SENNSES & MAMI (ofc) - Dream (Original Mix) I'm actually going on holiday coming Monday, and the journey to the airport is going to be a long one, so I might give this mix a go (again). Need to travel at silly o'clock, so I need something smooth, and kind of sensual. Found the perfect mix for that. Rígur Lárus has done it again. Another wicked mix. Maybe shorter than usual, but still highly enjoyable. His mixes are always highly anticipated, as they are in a different league. He always seems to find the best of the best records, and crams them into a few hour long mix. And added to it, he normally has the mix focusses on a well known movie star. Not today. Today it's all about him and the music he likes. He has picked 15 amazing records, and the end result is an hour long of pure bliss. It is a wonderful journey through Rígur Lárus's wonderful world. It's a mixture of everything, and I truly love each mix I've heard from him so far. There are still more out there for me to discover, and I will one day, but I need to review other mixes too. Wouldn't be fair to other artists. And it would mean I had to change my website to ''Rígur Lárus appreciation website'', or something similar. He always finds the best of the best, and the songs are all solid. Obviously he was asked to do this Borderlands episode. It's a cracking episode, and one you should look out for. Which record made me the happiest? Oh, there are a few. But maybe the one that got me the happiest, has to be 'Night Air'. Loving the different vibes coming through this song. It's yet another epic and amazing mix by Rígur Lárus. I hope he does more guest mixes like this one. He deserves to receive more credit for his amazing mixes. - The Clubland Hardcore Mix (10.08.25)It is Friday. What a glorious day it is. It was cold and drizzly this morning, but the sun has come out again. And the worst thing is? I've got the flu. My bodily fluids are covering most of my desk, including my keyboard and mouse, and let's not forget my monitor. Speakers are fine, they are well hidden from sight, so nothing to worry about. And on my desk do I have half a pharmacy to get me through today. The one medicine I didn't have, was music, but don't worry about that: Soundcloud to the rescue. And it has certainly helped me a lot! Clubland. Anyone remember this legendary name? Of course you do, don't lie. The label has been quiet since 2021 (according to Discogs), but to me it has meant a lot. The label had some fantastic releases, including the mighty Clubland X-Treme Hardcore series. Can't believe the last CD release was 12 years ago! I did like the series, but they had to disappear, which is obviously disappointing, but the music will live on within all of us. Alex Threat made this mix, with some of the biggest tracks to appear on a Clubland CD. And it's a nice blast from the past. I've been all over this mix for the last few days, and it has brought some nice memories back. I felt young again, with less weight and more hair. And still enough power within my system to dance throughout the night, stomping hard while hearing these tunes. A fantastic blast from the past. Flip N Fill - Discoland (Sy & Unknown Remix) Manian - Heaven (Breeze Mix) Tinchy Stryder feat Amelie - Never Leave Me (Squad-E Remix) Hypasonic vs Jord Schmid - Doesn't Matter (Dougal & Gammer Remix) Beatplayers feat Lara McAllen - Piece Of Heaven (Re-Con Remix) Flip N Fill - True Love Never Dies (Darren Styles Remix) (Music I Love DJ Edit) Styles & Breeze - Come With Me (Unique Remix) Kelly Llorrenna - Dress You Up (Squad-E Remix) Voodoo + Serano - Overload (Hixxy + Re-Con Remix) Breeze vs Lost Witness feat Louanne Feeney - Rise Again Ultrabeat vs Hypasonic - You Will See (Re-Con Remix) N-Force vs Darren Styles - Right By Your Side (Gammer Remix) Paradise - See The Light (Sy & Unknown Remix) E-Type - True Believer (Styles & Breeze Remix) Ultrabeat - Rain Stops (Re-Con vs Blood Red Remix) Manian - Turn The Tide (Darren Styles Remix) Ultrabeat - Pretty Green Eyes (Al Storm Remix) Cascada - What Do You Want From Me (Squad-E Remix) Master Blaster - Everywhere (Squad-E Remix) Darren Styles vs Ultrabeat - Paradise & Dreams (Re-Con Remix) Hixxy - More & More Fantastic. Absolutely fantastic. This mix made me happier, and less ill. And now I'm full of energy. Still snotty, but less worried. Alex Threat's mix contains so many great anthems from back in the day. I remember each and every song in this mix, and when they were released, they hit hard! The only person in the Netherlands who understood Clubland and UKHC, and I couldn't care less. The music meant so much to me, it made me who I am. Powerful to the core, and it made me feel further in love with UKHC. I cannot find anything wrong with this mix. Little errors, but nothing major. The tracks are solid, and are certainly enhancing happiness within us al. And each song has got a specific memory to it I adore. But the one track that still gets me the happiest, is Hixxy's ''More & More''. There are 21 amazing records in here, but his record just hits the hardest. Come on, when that song is played at a rave, you will loose your mind even more. That's just a pure rave anthem, right? A solid mix, one that will get you excited for the weekend ahead. Go out, and rave. And remember the good old Clubland Hardcore days! - 3 Steps Ahead – In The Name Of Love - Tribute To 3 Steps Ahead (2024)I don't remember what the first ever 3 Steps Ahead tune was I heard. I'm guessing when he released 'Drop It' back in 1996. Not 100% sure. But he's been in my Hardcore life since the early days, and has never left. He might have unfortunately left us physically, but spiritually he's still here, and his music is still loved by the young, the old, and the die-hard Hardcore fanatic. His music gave the Hardcore generation a sound to rave to. And the majority of his records were extremely successful. And adored by many. Many years after his passing, you can still find a lot of memorable mixes online. And no mix is made without a 3 Steps Ahead song in it. He was so influential and ahead of his time, we still trying to decipher his music. He has made so many anthems, and of course we know the big anthems, but his more obscure anthems under different aliases like The Illegal Alien, Pedro Terzero, Silverbells, The Ender, and more, they might not be for everyone. An acquired taste, shall we say. But under the 3 Steps Ahead umbrella did he release a lot of awesome tunes. And with all of them did I grew up with. They were part of my childhood, my youth, and they still put a smile on my face. Ranging from happier tunes to the rougher and bolder songs, his range was extraordinary. His livesets were also something different. Wasn't he the artist who wore a football shirt made out of multiple teams, not signifying just one team, but that we are all gabbers, friends for life, no matter what our political views are or which football club we support. We are gabbers 4 life. He set the tone, and dominated during the 90s. And so many of his songs have entered our heads, and will never leave us. They are powerful anthems, ones that will take us back to the 90s in a split second. He has made timeless songs, and many still are in awe of each anthem, and shocked to know we live in a world where we have his music, but unfortunately not the actual legend anymore (RIP Peter Paul Pigmans). A French electronic underground music label, vinyl shop and distributor decided to release a special tribute to the legend, on vinyl, last year. It was limited to 1000 copies, and I'm guessing they were all sold out. 4 LPs, 12'', each representing the colours in 3 Steps Ahead's logo. And 19 records on them, 19 of the biggest 3 Steps Ahead records. Vinyl, eh? Seems that the good old days never go away. Vinyl, and 90s Hardcore are here to stay. But obviously he's made a shit ton of records, which 19 records were used for this beautiful tribute? A1. 3 Steps Ahead - Drop It A2. 3 Steps Ahead - Sound Of The Underground B1. 3 Steps Ahead - It's Delicioius B2. 3 Steps Ahead - Crazy C1. 3 Steps Ahead - Fuk The Police C2. 3 Steps Ahead - Hardcore C3. 3 Steps Ahead - Gabbertime D1. 3 Steps Ahead - In The Name Of Love D2. 3 Steps Ahead - I'm A H.C.M.F. E1. 3 Steps Ahead - Hakkuh E2. 3 Steps Ahead - Gangster (Feel So Good) F1. 3 Steps Ahead - Money In My Pocket F2. 3 Steps Ahead - Funny G1. 3 Steps Ahead - So Much Trouble G2. 3 Steps Ahead - Gabbers Unite G3. 3 Steps Ahead - Junkie (Natural Mix) H1. 3 Steps Ahead - Cloud 9 H2. 3 Steps Ahead - Thunderdome Till We Die H3. 3 Steps Ahead - Welcome To Planet Steps What a legend he was! A true Hardcore fan knows each and every song by heart, and can sing them. We all know them, love them, and cherish them forever and ever. He will be with us until our dying days. 3 Steps Ahead, a true Hardcore pioneer. His mindset was extraordinary. Not taking the 'standard' approach, but his own. His music became synonymous to the best of the best. You knew when you saw his name on a CD, that his record would be awesome. His music brought a smile on your face. And seeing him at Mysteryland 1998 Outdoor certainly did put a smile on my face. Ground-breaking at the time, and a skilled Hardcore producer, he kept the raving community on their toes, with their hands way up in the air. For this tribute LP they've selected 19 records. And of course did they have to pick 'Drop It' as the first one. One of, if not, the biggest 3 Steps Ahead records out there. Certainly a big one, but not my favourite. That one is still 'Gangster (Feel So Good)'. Those vocals are just awesome. And being a 3 Steps Ahead compilation, they had to add some quirkiness to it. 'Cloud 9' is up there. And 'Welcome To Planet Steps'. 'Sound Of The Underground' is yet another record you might not find in many people's top 10 3SA songs, but it needs to be on here. It shows how 3 Steps Ahead was, musically. Diverse as possible, bringing Hardcore to everyone, and not caring how it was perceived: as long as it got people raving. But it turned out to be the opposite: the majority of these records were extremely well perceived. Hell, I'm still talking about them, many decades after their initial release. It's a fantastic ode to the legend. He is truly missed. His music will live on inside all of us. And can I request a suggestion: instead of 'Thunderdome Till We Die', maybe we rename it to '3 Steps Ahead Till We Die'. More fitting to the legend. You might go and find a copy, but I think it's going to be very difficult. A very sought after LP. Who wouldn't want to have this? - DJ Freak - DJ Skinhead vs. Disciples Of Annihilation Mix (2014)It is weird to think that yours truly, the trustworthy TCD, is a fanatic of all kinds of harder music, including Terror and Speedcore. You might not like it, and I fully understand it. It's not for everyone, nor will it ever be for everyone. This is for those with an acquired taste. You either love it, or you find it the most horrendous sounding 'music' in the world. Truth be told, you wouldn't even be calling it music, if you dislike it. But to me, it sounds like nothing else out there, and I can imagine Heaven having this on repeat for ever and ever and ever.... During the mid to late 90s, I fell more in love with Terror and Speedcore. Or Gabba, whatever you might call it. But I think it started way earlier than that, probably around 1992/1993. When Hardcore was still trying to figure out what it was, and everyone was trying everything to make it work. The earliest Hardcore tunes were not always well defined, well shaped. It required time and effort, but even though to the majority of people it sounded like garbage, it sounded like Heaven to me. And I think that's where my love started. Especially the anthems from the States. Do not underestimate the importance of American Hardcore. We (the Dutch) might think we ruled Hardcore, it was a combination of Dutch, German, Belgium, UK, Italy, and the States all combined. That's why Hardcore ruled the world, as there was music for everyone. And the Americans loved it harder, rougher and tougher. DJ Skinhead and DOA (Disciples Of Annihilation), two names well known in the harder styles. Of course did DJ Skinhead release the biggest Terror track of all time: ''Extreme Terror''. Still a well loved and played record. But there was so much to DOA and Skinhead. DJ Freak made this mix 11 years ago, and it recently got reuploaded by Magpie303 on Soundcloud, for you all to relive the glorious 90s again... 01 DOA - Extreme Gangsta 02 DOA - Wanna Be A Gangsta 03 DJ Skinhead - Extreme Terror (The Pain Mix) 04 DJ Skinhead - Extreme Terror ( Terror Mix) 05 DJ Skinhead - The Ultimate Cumshot 06 DJ Skinhead - Take It Outside 07 DJ Skinhead - DJ Skinhead ( Mutha Fucka Mix) 08 U.V.C. - No Reason For Sympathy 09 DOA - This is D.O.A. 10 DOA - Total Annihilation 11 DOA - Ya Mutha Part III 12 DOA - DJ Ass Fucker 13 DOA - Unleash The Brutality 14 U.V.C. - Death Is... 15 U.V.C. - Half Dead 16 U.V.C. - Axis 17 DOA - Our Father 18 DOA - Zu Leiten 19 Temper Tantrum - The Underground 20 DJ Skinhead - Extreme Terror III 21 DJ Skinhead - Extreme Terror (N.Y. HardCore Mix) 22 DOA - Brooklyn Mob 23 DOA - NYC Speedcore Be warned, this isn't for those who love their music melodic, harmonious, and very cheerful. This is the opposite. This is harder than hell, trust me. And I freaking love it. DJ Freak's appreciation mix is doing some serious damage in my household, and I do not care if anyone agrees or disagrees with my choice of music: this is music from MY youth. No need to listen to Snap!, Culture Beat, 2Unlimited, Spice Girls, Take That, and other crappy 90s groups... give me DOA and DJ Skinhead all day, every day! Whenever you hear those legendary words ''Extreme Terror'', you know stuff is about to go down. Things are changing. Darkness will engulf you like a tidal wave, and there's nothing you can do. Ride the wave, embrace the darkness. It is hard to pick a favourite. DJ Skinhead will always be 'Extreme Terror', but which version? Version III and the N.Y. HardCore Mix are always my favourite songs. And funnily enough, the track that gets me hard every single time (yeah, I've said it), is NYC Speedcore by DOA. Closely followed by 'This Is D.O.A.'. I really am happy to have discovered this fantastic mix. Again, it's not for everyone. But if you were young and loved Terror in the 90s, this will certainly bring back memories. And this will make the weekend fly by. Go and put this on repeat, and enjoy life. At least we life in an era in which we know what the Americans brought to the Hardcore scene, and I'm happy that they did: where would we be without DOA and DJ Skinhead? - Industrial Summer BBQ Chill Mix 2 - By Sound Abuse (2025)In 2023 I discovered this Soundcloud channel, which is called Sound Abuse, and their Industrial Summer BBQ Chill Mix was a hit. It certainly was, and still is, but as the Summer of 2025 is here, So, here's volume 2 of their Industrial Summer BBQ Chill Mix. And it's one you are really want to hear. Unless you aren't a fan of Industrial Hardcore. If that's the case, please leave this review and go somewhere else. This mix is only for those who appreciate the harder stuff. Like me. I love hard music, and I love BBQing. Those two things are amazing. But trust me when I say that, in my household, BBQ does not work with Industrial music. None of my friends or family members appreciate anything hard. We would play the trusted BBQ playlist on Amazon Music, which contains anthems from the 80s and 90s, but nothing too damn hard. Anything hard will result in people leaving the BBQ, and I'm stuck with cooked burgers, chicken wings, sausages, and no one to eat them. My wife would eat them, and of course I would, but we would struggle. So our BBQs are kind of boring. No one to share this mix with. So, the main reason behind this mix is to share it with people who do have awesome friends and family members who appreciate good music, and aren't judgemental. If you are blessed enough, let Sound Abuse take you on a pleasant journey, and make your BBQ awesome. As it certainly will be, with tracks like the ones you can see in the tracklist below: 1. Disface - Uncontrolled Pressure 2. _Digi . Slave - Not 2B Xtermin8ed 3. Narc – Destroyer 4. Brutal Force - Scream Louder 5. Mindustries - The Flames 6. Agent Zero - Evil Gain (Gathering Storm Remix) 7. Hardez – Collapse 8. E-Noid - Perfect Day 9. Ruthless and Dave S – FCKDP 10. The Silence – Sunblock 11. EAS - A Low Grade Euphoria (Rotterdam Mix) 12. Nightshift - Lost Cause 13. Detest & Furyan - The Realest 14. Society Will Fall - Superficial Intelligence 15. Stormtrooper - Todesvogel (Catscan Remix) 16. Ophidian - Qotile ( Sacerdos Vigilia Remix) 17. Mad & Darkcontroller - Sinister Sanctum 18. 100 Kilo Maarten - I Am My Own Revolution 19. Myrage Industries – Nycticorax 20. Mad Dog – Storm 21. Negative A - Slaughter Houze 22. Chaos Project – Blackhole 23. Bodylotion - Catastrophy (Neophyte & Karun Remix) 24. Plexos – Syndrome 25. The Satan - Face Your Doom 26. Akira & Bruhze - Innovator Oldskool 27. Dysistor - It is for us 28. Holly - Obscure Entity 29. Hotrebor - Analog Tribute 30. Master Mind - Wake up This is a very interesting tracklist, with a shit ton of music I've not heard before. And a lot of unknown names. But it's a truly interesting one, as it will certainly liven up your BBQ, and probably wake the whole neighbourhood. As much as I appreciate and love Hardcore, be a bit conservative when it comes to the music. Not everyone likes it, so maybe play it at an appropriate level. Don't be a nuisance, OK? You have fun, but not those that do not appreciate it. Or make it into a BBQ where everyone wears a headset. Probably a weird concept, but worth it. Anyway, let's move away from the BBQ, as the meat is already cooked/done. Sit down and enjoy. As that's what I'm doing right now. Sound Abuse have picked a great selection of records, and they are to tear your braincells apart. And fuck up your eardrums. Especially when a brand spanking new record by an underrated artist is played. 100 Kilo Maarten's 'I Am My Own Revolution'. Boy, does that one hit. That one hits HARD. Brutal, and deep and edgy at the same time. I love that record. Highlight of the mix, without a shadow of a doubt. Anything negative to mention about this mix? Well, it highlights the fact that my friends are a tad boring and don't like my music. Which makes me sad. But on the other hand, all is well when I'm near a BBQ and I'm tasting those delicious burgers and sausages. Life is great, really. - 15 Years of Endemic - Live from Kosmos Festival - Finland 2025It is Tuesday, and the week is going by slowly. It's not quick, it's too damn slow. It doesn't help my mood, so I need something hard, and fast. And it doesn't happen that often that I find a Freeform set, especially one by Endemic. But it is here, and it's one you want to see/hear. Recorded at Kosmos Festival 2025, it's one you want to listen to. Freeform at its finest, by legends from the scene, who've been around for a while. You might even know them. If you don't, let this mix be your introduction into their wonderful world. I don't know why a loaf of bread has anything to do with Freeform, but do we understand the Freeform community? Nah. We are all unique within that community, and maybe a loaf of bread makes perfect sense. Maybe the people behind this project all love bread? Or maybe the Finnish ravers love bread? They must do, right? The event sounds massive: over 150 artists, and 40 international artists. Only a handful of artists do I recognise, and those played at the Levitation Station FINRG area. Obviously I'm aware of FINRG, and I still find it amazing that the Finnish have embraced Freeform. And actually have events where UK artists played. Kudos to them for keeping Freeform alive and kicking. For their set they've selected a few awesome records, and these were the ones they used: Transcend - Future Shanty Endemic & Solution - Outbreak Endemic - Investatron 3000 Epyx & Cyrez - Blackest Night (Endemic Remix) K Complex & Mark Ashley - Atomic Orbital (Endemic Remix) K Complex - Cyberspace (Endemic Remix) King Ace - Dark Side Of The Moon (Endemic Remix) Substanced & Grimsoul - Signal Lost (Endemic Remix) Lost Soul & Endemic - Voice Of The Eclipse Endemic - Chosen Marcel Woods - Advanced (Endemic Remix) Organ Donors - 99.9 (Endemic Remix) DJ Rx - My Serenity (Endemic Remix) Endemic - Chaos Theory Endemic - Hurricane A blinding mix. If you were at this event and you witnessed Endemic, you must have had a wonderful time. Especially knowing the songs they've used for their set. Fantastic songs. Hit after hit. Really amazing stuff. I might have reviewed an Endemic set years ago, but I can't remember when it was. But at least, in 2025, I'm reviewing their set, and what a glorious set it was. The right Freeform anthems at the right time. This is the kind of Freeform I truly adore, admire, and sadly miss. You don't hear songs like these ones anymore. These all bring me joy and happiness. But what brought me the most happiness, was their opening track. Transcend's 'Future Shanty'. Not heard that one before, but what a way to give the Freeform fanatics exactly what they wanted to hear, at the start of a blinding set. I've got no negative feedback to give. This has been a fantastic set, which has been on repeat ever since I woke up this morning. You should just jump on this mix and relive the golden Freeform years. Endemic have done a great job, and their set is truly wicked! If anyone knows what the bread has got to do with the act, please leave a comment below! - 90's Hardcore / Jungle Mixtape - 2025It's Monday, and what a dreadful day it is. It's a bit chilly, rains every so often, and it's cloudy. Not the Summer we hoped it was going to be. But not to worry, we still have a few weeks, so we might have a great Summer. To keep us occupied, I've come across this mix. A proper 90s Hardcore/Jungle mixtape. Made by Kickback, it's an hour and 22 minutes of proper 90s bangers. The tracks are powerful enough to keep you going. The 90s were fantastic years. A wonderful decade, unique in every way imaginable. The music was more happier and rough, but not obnoxious. It spawned a new generation, who were all ready to hit the dancefloors and demolish them. Hands in the air, stomping their feet, and whistles everywhere. As aggressive as their dance moves were, the ravers themselves weren't. We were all there to be happy, and share our love and appreciation for rave. Kickback's mix contains the big hits. And they are big. They used to be dancefloor smashers, and they have remained as awesome as they were, during the 90s. You still get a lot of people who get hyped up for these songs, just out of nostalgia but also because they were just better songs compared to the current climate. The 90s rock, without a shadow of a doubt. I'll happily go back in time, to relive the 90s again. Run Tings - Back Again (V.I.P. Mix) The House Crew - Euphoria (Nino's Dream) Krome & Time - The Slammer DJ Solo - Darkage (All Night Remix) DJ Mayhem - Inesse (Ray Keith Remix) D-Force - Original Bad Boy Orca - 4AM Skruffneck - I Need Your Loving Ramos, Supreme & The Sunset Regime - Sunshine DJ Seduction - Samplemania Remix Vibes & Wishdokta - Feel So Good Just Another Artist - Lust DJs Unknown - Volume 2b Intense - The Dreamer Omni Trio - Renegade Snares (Foul Play VIP) Justin Time - Sweet In My Pocket (Force & The Evolution Remix) Jimmy J & Cru-L-T - Six Days Vibes & Wishdokta - Harmony Liquid Crystal - Can't Stop Falling Ramos, Supreme & The Sunset Regime - Gotta Believe (Heaven Mix) Fantastic. I feel young again. And guess what? The miserable weather outside has now turned, and it looks glorious outside. Sun is shining. It's like the almighty actually appreciates good music? Who knew? Kickback's mix has got some serious hitters in it. Pure dancefloor smashers. If you were around in the 90s, and you were a full on raver, you must remember all of these records, right? Can't go to a rave and NOT hear these songs. It's so weird to think that we class some of these records as Happy Hardcore, even though they made people loose their minds like never before, and they were initially classed as Hardcore. How weird it all went. They were maybe slightly happy, but were they ever happy enough to be as happy as those Happy Hardcore anthems from the mid 90s? It's a beautiful mix, and it has been on repeat from 6am until 6pm. And I don't care. Best record? One that no one can beat: 'Renegade Snares'. Come on, that song is in another league, a league on its own. A beast of a record. Timeless masterpiece. - Tinlicker - BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix (2024)The weekend has landed, and we need something to unwind. It's been a bit of a week, and it's going to be a bit of a weekend, but I won't bore you with the details, as it's not really interesting. But to get us through this weekend, and get us ready for next weekend, the perfect mix has landed on my desk, by accident. I wasn't technically looking for it, but I stumbled across it, and now I'm hooked. A mix so damn good, it baffles me that I've not discovered this duo before. It's obviously the Essential mix by a duo called Tinlicker. During the beginning it's explained where the names comes from, but it still makes no sense to me. I heard their massive song 'Just To Hear You Say' a couple of weeks ago, and it blew my mind away. Started to look for more Tinlicker, and that's when I came across their Essential mix. And boy, did it not disappoint. This is hard as hell. But deep on so many levels. I don't know if licking a tin is required for you to enjoy it as much as I have, but you could give it a try. Be careful with the edges on the tin, they might be a tad sharp. This aired last year, and as I never listen to the radio anymore, I missed it. But thankfully I have discovered this 2 hour long set. It is so glorious, and the tracks selected are so deep and fantastic. And it contains so much more. The majority of records I've not heard before, but they are etched into my mind for the rest of my life. This mis has been on repeat since the moment I discovered it, and it's not leaving my side any day soon. This is one of those mixes which you will listen to, until you completely insane. Emotions run wild throughout this mix. And it's packed with Tinlicker songs, remixes and edits. So if you've never heard of Tinlicker, like myself, this is a fantastic treat. Christmas has come early this year, and the Summer isn't over yet! I've listened to this mix a lot of times, and it's made journeys to work much more pleasant. My heart beat slows down, and I feel more at ease with everything. This mix contains everything to make you feel again. Deep emotions. But with a knipoog, obviously. (that's a Dutch word, look it up). The whole mix is splendid. They do take you on a pleasant journey. But what baffles me, is that around the 7 minute mark, I get stuck. Kelly Moran's 'Helix', edited by Tinlicker, that's my jam. And the song I have on repeat. What a wonderful and majestic song. The intro itself is fantastic, and the rest of the mix too, but this song... it blows me away. Probably my favourite record as of now, and it will remain in my top 5 for a very, very long time. Tinlicker, whatever the name means, has created a beast of a mix. I want to hear more now, and thankfully, their Soundcloud is filled with more beautiful anthems. Go and check them out. I know I will do exactly that. But for now, 'Helix' will go on repeat again. - Promo – Solitude (2025)DJ Promo is back! Well, he has never left, as he's Hardcore to the bone, but you know what I'm saying. He's back with a brand spanking new album. Not the first album which he has released, and certainly not the last. But he's gone back to his roots with this album, and it's certainly one that is going to please a lot of the die-hard Promo fans, who love his early work. The Promo Files, anyone? He goes in deep, and the album is the result of his years in the scene, building up extensive knowledge on how to be the best. The result is certainly there. I did spot a few posts on social media regarding this new release, and once it was on YouTube, I jumped on it. I am a massive Promo fan since the mid 90s when he made his first releases public. I am in awe of his music, and I do not believe another artist comes close to the impact this man has had on my life, and many others. His music has touched generations, and made thousands, if not millions of people move. And he still gets us excited whenever he releases new stuff. The first Promo album I ever purchased, was 'Never Compromise'. And what a smashing CD that was.'The Revolutionist' followed, 'Quality Control', but after that, I skipped 'Stijlloos'. Personally, that wasn't my favourite album. He came back with 'True Tones', and a few other albums followed. And obviously he brought back the Promo Files, be it remixed. It was time for something new and refreshing, and instead, he just did what he does: he doesn't refresh, he just delivers. He doesn't compromise, as he's the revolutionist, he always goes through quality control, and everything he does becomes stijlloos. Shall I proceed, or are you catching my drift? With this album, it seems he goes not only back to his roots, but also proceeds with the sound he created later in life. There's a huge influential presence within each song of his sound after the 90s, and you might even say he combined multiple albums into one fantastic album. Some very deep and philosophical anthems, and some no nonsense, stomping hard anthems. You get it all, in one album. DJ Promo - Solitude DJ Promo - Forgive Me Father (For I Have Synth) DJ Promo - In The Dark DJ Promo - Stand United DJ Promo - Fake Fodder DJ Promo - Drowning By Daylight DJ Promo - The Best One DJ Promo - Countdown DJ Promo - The Outsiders DJ Promo - Promo Bitch DJ Promo - The Second Dawn DJ Promo - Totally Lost It DJ Promo - Beneath The Waves DJ Promo - Dark Times Before I proceed, can I just give credit to Promo for making a tracklist which consists of no spelling errors? I don't think I've ever encountered a tracklist which didn't contain spelling errors. Stuff like that makes me happy, extremely happy. Satisfied by the list so far. The album starts with an intro, and slowly builds up. And boy, does the BPMs go up and up. And the bass sometimes becomes unbearable for most humans. I'm not like most, and I like the bass to be as filthy and rough as possible. But I can also appreciate some more melodic anthems. Basically, I appreciate most stuff Promo makes. And this album contains all that is holy, in the Promo world. Excellent tunes, fantastically produced. A well balanced yet intriguing album. Promo is still here to stay. It might take some time for people to categorise these songs in the same class as the old Promo Files anthems, but it won't be that long. These are solid anthems. I truly admire this album, and I cannot find anything wrong with this album at all. No issues. 'Promo Bitch' is just a fantastic record. Kevin Hart saying 'Promo bitch', that's just hilarious. And the stomping elements in this song make me want to put both my fists in the air and stomp the ground with my feet. And scream the words 'Promo Bitch' out loud. But here comes the twist. 'Beneath The Waves'. What an awesome record that is! Whoever done the vocals, that is just mesmerizing to listen to. There's so much passion and emotions in the vocals, I cannot stop listening to this song. Maybe the lyrics themselves are quite deep, but thankfully I don't listen too much to lyrics. Her voice just persuades me to move my ass, and feel blessed to live in a world where there are songs like this one. Ps. I've just discovered that these lyrics are from an Evanescence song. Wow. Maybe the only point of interest is the last record. Not the best Promo record. Still enjoyable. But OK. Nothing more to add. A fantastic album. Click the link below to stream this as much as you like, and share it with as many people are you know. I'll certainly do that. here in the UK. Blasting out the new Promo album on the M25 and M1. Max volume. If you are regularly stuck on those roads and you see a blue Toyota Yaris (new plate), that's me! I'm blasting out the Promo. Fuck yeah! PROMO BITCH. - Ultimate Trance Anthems (2025)Oh, it's going to be yet another hot weekend. 30+ degrees Celsius outside, and unfortunately, also inside the house. Bloody newbuilds, they maintain the heat extremely well. I'm sitting here, looking like Onslow from 'Keeping Up Appearances'. I do miss the cap on my head, but everything else is the same. It's hot, and what makes it worst, is the fact that I'm listening to a dope ass mix, one that takes me back to the good old days, and it immediately makes me think of the Summer. And that's not beneficial either, because it's making me hotter and hotter. The temperatures are slowly going up, the BBQ will be fired up, and the tunes are already sorted. Leave that to the guys at History Of Happy Hardcore channel on Soundcloud. They normally focus on the harder side of dance music, but every so often do they upload nice and calm Trance mixes, like the one you are about to listen to. And it's packed to the max with Trance classics. According to the title of the mix, these are the ultimate Trance classics. And I do concur. This mix has been on repeat since 8am this morning, and will be on repeat until the sun goes down. This is definitely a mix filled with classics. They are classics. Come on, all the tracks in this mix are just astonishingly gorgeous, stood the test of time, and still gets people raving. They are solid dancefloor anthems, and you can only appreciate and love them. No one hates Trance, no one. But which classics? And do you think and feel the same about these records? Are they classics, and should they be? Gouryella - Gouryella System F - Out Of The Blue Veracocha - Carte Blance Lange feat The Morrighan - Follow Me Matt Darey presents Mash UP - Liberation ( Temptation - Fly Like An Angel) (Ferry Corsten Remix) Lovechild - Liberta (Moonman Remix) Art Of Trance - Madagascar (Ferry Corsten Remix) Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar (Original Three 'N One Mix) Freefall feat Jan Johnston - Skydive ATB - 9PM (Till I Come) (Sequential One 1999 Remix) Rank 1 - Airwave (Rank 1 vs Dutch Force Mix) Delerium feat Sarah McLachlan - Silence (DJ Tiesto In Search Of Sunrise Remix) Paul van Dyk - For An Angel (PvD E-Werk Club Mix) They are classics. Hell yes. You cannot go to a Trance event and NOT hear these songs. I remember hearing these songs for the first time, and they blew me away. I'm such a music nerd, I can still remember the CD they appeared on the first time. And I still own those CDs. They are scratched beyond belief, but that doesn't matter. Nostalgia, mate. Oh, this is hard. To choose one favourite song. I cannot. They've all been with me through my younger years, and they played a crucial part in making me become a music obsessed idiot. The maker of this mix picked ALL the freaking classics. Oh damn, it's too damn hard. But here goes: 'Madagascar'. Why? Sensation 2001 White edition. Or was it 2002? Nah, it was 2002. And this was played. And I took me to places not been to before. 40 thousand people in the Amsterdam Arena. This came on, and I lost my freaking mind. A true masterpiece, one that certainly deserve the title 'Classic'. They are all solid anthems. It's yet another amazing mix. I love Trance, especially when it's these glorious anthems being played over and over. I never get tired of them. Well, maybe one of the tracks selected. ''9PM''. Bit overkill, in my honest opinion. Might need a break from hearing that song. But otherwise, a fantastic mix that suits the currently climate in the UK. It's sunny, hot, sweaty, and it feels like we are abroad. - Thunderdome XXVI (2019)I've been lied to. And I really dislike that. And maybe you experienced the same? You might have encountered the same issue on YouTube, when you think you are going to listen to a specific album, and it's not what you expected. The next thing you are going to see is one of those disappointments. And it really grinds my gear when it happens. Thunderdome is an institution, it's a way of life. We don't need to explain to the raving culture what it is, and what it means. We have all been hoping that the good ol' days would come back, and we could hear the music from the 90s and early 00s again. So when I spotted this 'new' and 'rare' album on YouTube I got happy. Only uploaded a couple of days ago, I thought that it might have been the real deal. But fuck me, that wasn't the case. It looks persuasive enough. The cover looks really genuinely Thunderdome-ish. It's been lacking this kind of covers for many years. They are playing it safe over the last couple of years. So to see this new cover was really intriguing. But I looked closely. A concept design. Fan art, basically. And that's really done amazingly! Credits to the one who made the cover. But then you look at the tracklist, and it becomes a disappointment beyond belief! Here, you have a look. Tell me what you thought of it the first time you looked at it! CD1: 01. The Stunned Guys & Darrien Kelly - Violet Skies 02. Neophyte - Fuck Martine (Stunned Guys Mix) 03. Art Of Fighters - Earthquake 04. Meccano Twins - Sinapse (Shadow Mix) 05. Korsakoff - Powerrave 06. DJ Dione - Infinity 07. Ophidian - Butterfly V.I.P. 08. Miro - The Shining 09. Wasting Program - Final Solution 02. Impulse Factory - Your Wake Up Call 03. The Reactor & Raoul meets Impulse Factory - Rock My World 04. Dr. Z-Vago - The Lab 05. DJ Promo - X-Termination 06. Freez-E-Style - Slo Motion 07. Cypher - Marchin Into Madness 08. Mindtraveller - It's Getting Closer 09. Masters Of Ceremony - A Way Of Life (DJ Promo Remix) 10. Bold Bob - Bold Bass I've not been more disappointed than hearing this CD on Youtube. What a massive cock up that was. To me it's kind of a click bait thing. Everyone who likes Hardcore would automatically click on the player, because it's Thunderdome. But if you inspect it closely, you see that it's not, and never will be. But because it has the name, people think it is. It's a fucking lie! And it's not EVEN Thunderdome material!!! Yes, some records do resemble the Thunderdome sound, but the majority are Italian Hardcore records, or just waste of time. You know when you've got a MoH album or a Thunderdome album in your possession: it's that unique sound. And this seems to be only click bait. A fake. I'm really gutted. Really disappointed. I'm waiting for that oldskool but new album from Thunderdome, but it hasn't arrived yet. And maybe this would have been the one. But it wasn't. This has pissed me off. The tracks are good, don't hear me say anything about that, but the way this is presented is just pure lying to the masses. Create your own concept, don't re-invent one. Be unique, and people will come if it's good. But this is just pure rip off. Jumping the band wagon of Thunderdome's success. I'm really disliking this 'album'. Yes it's rare, because it's fake. Don't be duped. If you just want to hear Hardcore music, go ahead: there are good records on here, but if you were looking (like myself) for some Thunderdome, you will be deeply disappointed. Fuck this shit. I'll give it the lowest score ever. Don't even bother to talk about the positives. This hurts my feelings. Just go to Thunderdome's official website for your Thunderdome fix. - Fallout 4: The Diamond City Radio Playlist (2015)If you follow me on Twitter, you know I'm a huge fan of Fallout 4. I was only given a Playstation on Christmas last year, and I think I became a fan of it after seeing videos of it on Youtube. As a surprise, the wife got me Fallout 4. Thankfully not 76, because many seem to dislike it. But 4 got my attention in the first place, and now I'm playing it whenever I can. Now, for those who consider themselves gaming fanatics, let me warn you, I'm still a noob. I've got prior to this game no gaming experience whatsoever, and thankfully we will not discuss the game, but only one tiny feature that is present in this game, and gets a lot of plays on Soundcloud and Youtube: Diamond City Radio! I still need to discover all the perks of this game, but what I can tell you is that I'm addicted. Truly addicted. And I'm in love with the music they used for this 'radio' station. I've been listening to this for weeks now, not only during me playing the actual game, but there are plenty of channels on Youtube and Soundcloud dedicated to the game. You can literally find everything on here. So what kind of music can you hear? Old music. Classic music. Timeless music. But also music that will remain in your head, long after you stopped playing the game. Someone on Youtube made this video, and all the track names are in chronological order. Don't expect the usual hard style music I normally write about , in this video. If you are a fan of the game, or just Jazzy music in general, you will love this! Sit back, and enjoy! 01. Tex Beneke - A Wonderful Guy 02. Bing Crosby - Accentuate The Positive 03. Cole Porter - Anything Goes 04. The Five Stars - Atom Bomb Baby 05. Roy Brown - Butcher Pete (Part 1) 06. Roy Brown - Butcher Pete (Part 2) 07. Danny Kaye - Civilization (Bongo Bongo Bongo) 08. Sheldon Allman - Crawl Out Through The Fallout 09. Billie Holiday - Crazy He Calls Me 10. Bob Crosby - Dear Hearts And Gentle People 11. Billy Holiday - Easy Living 12. Roy Brown - Good Rocking Tonight 13. Wynonie Harries - Grandma Plays The Numbers 14. Bob Crosby - Happy Times 15. Betty Hutton - He's A Demon 16. The Ink Spots - I Don't Want To Set The World On Fire 17. Ella Fitzgerald - Into Each Life 18. Betty Hutton - It's A Man 19. The Ink Spots - It's All Over But The Crying 20. Louis Jordan - Keep A Knockin' 21. The Ink Spots - Maybe 22. Roy Brown - Mighty, Mighty Man 23. Frankie Carle - One More Tomorrow 24. Nat King Cole - Orange Colored Sky 25. Johnny Mercer - Personality 26. Bing Crosby - Pistol Packin' Mama 27. Ray Smith - Right Behind You Baby 28. Connie Allen - Rocket 69 29. Billy Ward And The Dominoes - Sixty Minute Man 30. Skeeter Davis - The End Of The World 31. Dion - The Wanderer 32. Ella Fitzgerald - Undecided 33. Elton Britt - Uranium Fever 34. Warren Smith - Uranium Rock 35. Bob Crosby - Way Back Home 36. Big Maybelle - Whole Lotta Shakin Going On 37. The Three Suns - Worry Worry Worry Funny side note: a couple of weeks ago, me and the wife went to Bletchley Park, the famous location where they 'cracked' the Enigma code, and we had afternoon tea there. Guess what kind of music they played? Correct. This kind of music. Well, not the saucy and sexual tinted tracks, but the 'clean' records. It gave me a nice feeling: small sandwiches, small tea, in a nice location, with Fallout 4 music. My kind of heaven. Some of these records are so unique and cool, you might even think that they have been specifically written for the Fallout series, but you've got to remember that when these were originally released, the world was focussed on atomic/nuclear power and the devastation a nuclear bomb creates. It was a different time, a Third World War was closeby. So it might appear to be specifically made for this game, but it wasn't. It was just the state of the world back then. Such a different world. How cool is it, that music can take you back to this world in an instant? You don't need to be at Bletchley Park to feel like you are in the 40s and 50s. You just need to close your eyes and listen to this. And another amazing thing is that the tunes were short, compared to the music nowadays. But within the shortness it packs a punch. I love the fact that these tunes are catchy as hell! Nothing like the top 40 from today. The tunes will be forgotten easily, but not these tunes. Yes, they might sound dated, but they will outlive many of the artists who release music in the 10s. I'm so addicted to this: I can literally sing along each and every record! And at the moment this kind of music is my favourite! Yes, EDM and everything EDM related I love, but my passion lies now with the 40s and 50s music. And Fallout should get some credit, for making me aware of this kind of music. Not something you would look out for, or hear on the radio at all. Which is my favourite record? 'Pistol Packin Mama' by Bing Crosby. So darn catchy. Ah hell, it might be 20+ degrees outside, but this reviewer will not leave the house: I must revisit Diamond City, and just relax. - Tiësto In Concert - Live At Gelredome Arnhem 10-05-2003Whilst the majority of ravers are destroying their braincells and feet at Defqon.1 right now, there must be a few out there who do not appreciate the harder styles, and rather have some soothening beats coming through their speakers. Now, I've got something special for you. A set from the once number 1 DJ in the world, DJ Tiësto. And what he did back in 2003 shook the world to its core! Nothing like it happened before. 1 DJ,1 event, 8 hours, 25.000 ravers. Pure and unadulterated madness. DJ Tiësto in Concert. One event I really wanted to go to, but I couldn't get tickets (I was too late, sold out really quickly). But I found snippets of his set on Soundcloud. ID&T created a lot of amazing memories with their events, but this one has given me special memories: I couldn't go, but I stayed at home, listening to the radio (3FM) and recorded the whole 8 hours on cassette. I had to switch every half an hour to the other side, and skip the news or adverts, but I stayed awake for this. And I remember it like it was yesterday. Headphones on, because my mum and dad were upstairs asleep. And I was raving my ass off. DJ Tiësto was a boss back in the days. He dominated the Trance scene, and when I witnessed him for the first time at Innercity, I knew that he was the best. He delivered so many great anthems over the years, memorable, and still considered Trance classics. Back in 2003 he was at the hight of his carreer (when he still focussed on the Trance side of things, and not EDM). Many looked up to him, and wanted to be him. He was everything a young beginning DJ wanted to be: a superstar DJ from the Netherlands. I had no talent. The only thing I had was a passion for music. I still love music to the bone. Can't make anything, I just appreciate it. And during his set he played so many memorable anthems. Worth checking out. Please remember that these sets are separated in two bits. And it's not the whole 8 hours. Bloody Nora, imagine if that would emerge on the internet! The world would loose their minds! 01. Tiësto - Magik Journey 02. Tiësto - Adagio For Strings 03. Tiësto - Theme From Norefjell (DJ Jan & Christophe Chantzis Remix) Obviously this is not the whole night! These are snippets from the live broadcast on Dutch radio channel 3FM back in 2003. I was one of the listeners, and when I heard this set coming through my speakers, I felt like a 20 year old kid again. Fuck, I wish I bought a ticket for this and went. This was next level stuff! Tiësto dominated everything! He was a GOD behind the decks. Also, the recording isn't really in high quality. Probably taken from a cassette. Which lowers the quality tremendously. But still you can soak up the atmosphere in the Gelredome. He did his thing, and the crowd loved it. And 16 years later (can you believe it?) there are still people out there who cannot stop listening to this set. Did someone record the whole Tiësto set by any chance, is it somewhere on the internet? I know there's a DVD of the concert, but I reckon it's only max an hour long. Who's got the 8 hours? Who? You have got to remember that this was the first ever concert where the DJ was the main focus. Not many. Just one. DJ Tiësto. He was the main focus of the night. He did what had to be done: make history. The announcer at the beginning of his set was spot on. I still get goosebumps hearing him announce DJ Tiësto. But also the whole set. Brilliant from start to finish. I remember DJ Tiësto touching some continents. You can hear African Male Voice Chants towards the end of the recording. Don't know any other continents he 'visited' (or if he did ALL of them). But what I do remember is that it broke the show into bits. You can't expect Tiësto to give himself and not have a toilet break. Christ, he's a God, but even a God needs a toilet visit. What Tiësto did is truly astonishing. It was a risk by ID&T but it paid off. 25.000 tickets sold, a memorable night created. It's a shame he's chosen a different path, but maybe, if he listens back to his set, he might change his mind. Tiësto, come back. We need more night like this one. Best record? There are a few. But I would give 'Solid Globe - North Pole' the credit. Such a wicked and underrated Trance classic. And also 'Solar Factor - Urban Shakedown'. - Early Hardcore Top 40 (The Very Best Early Hardcore Songs Ever) (2020)It is Saturday, and it doesn't really matter. It's another day within the second lockdown period, so nothing much is happening around the world. Here in London it's kind of boring. It's a new level of non existing excitement. Or should I say a new low? The internet is the only thing that can bind us all together, and it can connect people from all over the world. And sometimes it's necessary, like the other day when my nan died, and we had to watch her funeral during a livestream. It's odd, I know, but at least we are 'there'. We can still be linked to one and another during this COVID period. But gabbers, they were always connected. At raves during the 90s and early 2000s they were the biggest friends club in the whole universe. There's wasn't much hatred or anger, we all danced throughout the night. Yes, we might have looked a tad odd with our track suits and bald heads, but we couldn't care less: this was our thing. And at the centre of this all, was the music. And even to this day we hold it close to our hearts: it's as dear to us as air is to other humans. We embrace the early sound, and play it until our final breath. Hardcore 4 Life. That's our motto. Now, I only found this mix a few hours ago, but I had to check it out. It's a mix made by Funky Frank. I do not know anything about this DJ, but what I do know is that he used a shit ton of classic anthems. And when I say classics, I do mean classics. You would probably find the same songs on your standard, run of the mill, top 40 Hardcore CD. You know, those CDs that are only made to get money out of your pocket, nothing much. Those 'special' CDs that everyone already has, but still buys, to add to their collection. If you were around during the 90s and you were a gabber/raver, you will enjoy this tracklist. You certainly will! The Horrorist - Flesh Is The Fever Public Energy - Three_O_Three The Dark Raver & DJ Vince - Thunderground Robert Armani - Hit Hard Miro - Shining E-Man - Bass Machine Razzle Dazzle Trax - Rattlebrain (DJ Isaac's Overdrive Remix) DJ Isaac & DJ The Viper - Fun-ky Beats The Dark Raver & DJ Vince - Intelligent Hardcore Dr. Macabre - Poltergeist Digital Boy - OK, Alright Forze DJ Team - '98 To Piano Dominium - Let Your Mind DJ Isaac - Freak That Shit DJ Isaac & DJ The Viper - Trigga Finga Rave Creator - Atmos-Fear Buzz Fuzz - King Of The Beats Jones & Stephenson - The First Rebirth Pilldriver - Pitch Hiker Neophyte - Braincracking Dune - Hardcore Vibes Stingray & Sonicdriver - As Cold As Ice The Highlander - Hold Me Now Bertocucci Feranzano - XTC Love Hardsequencer - Braincrash Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo - Wonderful Days (Rotterdam Mix) Critical Mass - Burnin' Love (DJ Weirdo & DJ Sim 173.683 Remix) Rave Nation - Going Crazy DJ Isaac - Bad Dreams The Prophet - Big Boys Don't Cry Masoko Solo - Pessa Pessa Buzz Fuzz - Frequencies DJ Weirdo & Dr. Phil Omanski - Young Birds Lenny Dee - The Dreamer Wayward - Hardcore Hijacked Me Chosen Few - Chosen Paradise Promo - Shut Up! 3 Steps Ahead - Drop It Diss Reaction - Jieehaaa DJ Jappo & Lancinhouse - EXLXAXL BONUS TRACK You might agree or disagree, but Funky Frank's selection is a good one. Yes, some do not fall technically under the early Hardcore tag, but more like Happy Hardcore, and some listeners do find that annoying, but it was still part of the early 90s. Love or hate it, even those cheesy tunes were part of this culture at one stage, and featured on many Hardcore compilations. The last track, which is a bonus track, is obviously the biggest top 40 hit for any Hardcore anthem, and you will immediately know which song I am talking about. I do like Frank's selection. Immediately I felt a few years younger, and high on life. So damn Hardcore I was back then. It is funny, but yet I am still Hardcore. Might be a tad podgier but Hardcore music still runs through my veins. I might not be able to do the specific dance for hours, but 10 mins of Hakkuh is still sufficient enough to show the young kids how to do it. So the tracklist is good, but is the mix good? Yes and no. The tracks are good, but there are a shit ton of mixing errors here. And I do mean a lot. You would maybe expect to hear them on a dodgy cassette from the early 90s, but not in the 2020s. I know Funky Frank was eager to make this mix, but it's not a flawless mix. That's a shame though. Maybe worth checking this mix out, if you want to feel slightly nostalgic. You might need to sieve through the errors. But if you want to do that, you might like this mix more than I do at the moment. - Altern 8 Boiler Room Nottingham DJ Set (2016)Sometimes I wonder how I could miss big sets, seeing as I'm online nearly 24/7. I could have missed this one because it's a Youtube video, and I don't watch videos as much as I should. But a good friend of mine (onderkoffer) has reminded me yet again I should be watching this. A must listen to set. And the main reason for that being that the set was done by the mighty Mark Archer. Yes, one half of Altern 8. And if you remember, I've interviewed him a couple of months ago. Worth checking out too! But for now it's his set at the Boiler Room in Nottingham. I've seen the concept before and it looks interesting and scary at the same time. The DJ is the centre of attention, and literally stands amongst the crowd. Not high up on a stage, but where the ravers are. This edition they asked Mark Archer to play an hour long set, and seeing him during the set, he seems to have a brilliant time. Loving the reactions from the crowd around him, but also making sure they were treated to the finest oldschool classics. And the crowd, well, they were having it. Mark behind the decks is a good promise. He's been around for decades and knows exactly how to please but also surprise the fans. When he throws in a classic that everyone loves, the crowd go mad. I'm getting you hyped up, and now it's time for you to see what kind of tracks Mark used for his set. Be warned: nostalgic feelings will emerge. 01. Xpansions - Elevation (Move Your Body) 02. Bassheads - Is There Anybody Out There 03. K-Klass - Rhythm Is A Mystery 04. CLS - Can You Feel It 05. Gat Decor - Passion 06. The Prodigy - Everybody In The Place 07. House Syndicate - Jam The Mace 08. Blapps Posse - Don't Hold Back 09. Joey Beltram - Energy Flash 10. Outlander - Vamp 11. Cybersonik - Technarchy 12. CJ Bolland - Ravesignal III (Horsepower Exclusive Remix) 13. Bizarre Inc - Playing With Knives 14. Quadrophonia - Quadrophonia 15. Cubic 22 - Night In Motion 16. T99 - Anastasia 17. Moby - Go 18. Rabbit City - Beyond Control 19. The Prodigy - Charly 20. Rhythm Quest - Closer To All Your Dreams 21. Baby D - Let Me Be Your Fantasy 22. Awesome 3 - Don't Go 23. Liquid - Sweet Harmony 24. Johnny L - Hurt You So 25. The Prodigy - Out Of Space 26. Altern 8 - Frequency I've never seen a DJ laugh this much during a set. He was really enjoying himself. Mark has got such a lovely atmosphere around him: I reckon he's such a legend in real life. Not only music wise though. (just see how many people shake his hand or fist bump him). The set contains the finest yet well known records, but even though we've heard them a million times, they still rock. Hence why we hear them over and over again: these anthems take us back to the forgotten decade, the decade when everything was possible. We were free. We were alive. We were unique. And it's all down to music legends like Mark Archer. I can only give the man credit for a wicked set. Smiles for miles. And it's such a joy to hear these classics still being played out loud! These records do deserve a stage every week. I reckon the artists who made these never knew they were going to be played decades after. Some transitions are just beyond belief. But that's all down to experience: over the years he has perfected his craft, and he makes it look like a duddle. So easy. But don't forget, he's been active for decades! Mark is a legend. His set is amazing. His enthusiasm and dedication is just beyond belief. We need more sets like this one. With or without the mask (and Vicks), he's still enjoying the scene and leaves his mark on it. Mark Archer. The ledge! Best record? 'Technarchy'. No doubt about that. But also 'Night In Motion'. Wicked stuff. - DJ Midas - The Very Best Of Anjunabeats! (2017)I’m doing something unique, something I might have done only once or twice before: review a review. What does that involve, you might wonder? Well, it’s basically a mix I have already reviewed before being reviewed again. But would I review any ordinary mix? Nah, that’s not my cup of tea: only the finest of the finest will get a re-review. And I think that this one is one of the greatest Trance mixes I have ever heard in my life! It was released last year on DJ Midas’ Mixcloud page, and it had a fair amount of plays, but I reckon the majority were my fault. I have downloaded this and copied it onto my USB stick, but sadly now my car doesn’t have the option to use more than 1 USB port. So it’s either my phone (which I need for my satnav) or the USB stick. And I rather use the satnav, if I’m honest. But thankfully I can use the Mixcloud app to play it, and it gives me the opportunity to make every journey exciting. Does that mean my journeys are 4 hours long? Nah, not really. But still it makes it worth while. And every bloody time I press play again. I can’t contain my happiness. This is, without a doubt, the dopest mix out there. It contains the finest Anjunabeats records money can buy, and they were selected (and mixed) together beautifully by DJ Midas. Normally he’s all into UK Hardcore and Happy Hardcore, but for this mix he went a completely different route, and it’s a route he should take more often. I can not underline the fact that this mix is one of the greatest ever. But I will. This is one of the greatest mixes ever! There, I’ve done it. And now let’s focus on the tracklist. 01. Oceanlab – Satellite (Marcus Schulz Coldharbour Remix) 02. 8 Wonders – Sex On The Beach (6″ Stilletto Mix) 03. Purple Mood – One Night In Tokyo (Above & Beyond Remix) 04. Tranquility Base – Getting Away (Original Mix) 05. Above & Beyond – Anjunabeach (Nitrous Oxide Remix) 06. Sunny Lax – M.I.R.A. (Daniel Kandi Remix) 07. Greg Murray & Christian Rusch – The Promise (Ronski Speed Remix) 08. Super8 – Cre8 (Original Mix) 09. Jono Grant vs Mike Koglin – Circuits (Original Mix) 10. Mike Koglin & Mark Pledge – Ultraviolet (Original Mix) 11. Oceanlab – Breaking Ties (Above & Beyond Analogue Heaven Mix) 12. Jer Martin – Ten Minutes To Midnight (Original Club Mix) 13. Super8 & Tab – Suru (Original Mix) 14. Signalrunners – Meet Me In Montauk (Oliver Smith Remix) 15. Smith & Pledger – Connected (Original Mix) 16. Oceanlab – On A Good Day (Daniel Kandi Remix) 17. Signalrunners – One Last Look (Original Mix) 18. Carrie Skipper – Time Goes By (Super8 Bangin’ Remix) 19. Oceanlab – Beautiful Together (Signum Remix) 20. Nitrous Oxide – Red Moon Slide (Original Mix) 21. Endre – Kallocain (Original Mix) 22. Aalto – Rush (Super8 vs Orkidea Remix) 23. Aalto – 5 (Nitrous Oxide Remix) 24. Aalto – Taurine (Super8 Remix) 25. Above & Beyond – No One On Earth (Smith & Pledger Remix) 26. Kaste – Desert Eagle (Smith & Pledger Remix) 27. Luminary – Amsterdam (Smith & Pledger Remix) 28. Daniel Kandi – Breathe (Original Mix) 29. Mike Koglin vs Jono Grant – Sequential (Original Mix) 30. Mike Koglin & Mark Pledger – All The Way (Original Mix) 31. Smith & Pledger – Northern Lights (Original Mix) 32. Smith & Pledger – Believe (Original Mix) 33. Tranquility Base – Buzz (Original Mix) 34. Dan Stone – Made In Bharain (Original Mix) 35. Nitrous Oxide – North Pole (Original Mix) 36. Smith & Pledger – Black 37. Oceanlab feat Justine Suissa – Sirens Of The Sea (Above & Beyond Club Mix) 38. Oceanlab – Sky Falls Down (Armin van Buuren Remix) 39. Daniel Kandi – Child 40. Sunny Lax – Misgrey (Original Mix) 41. Above & Beyond – Can’t Sleep (Signum Remix) It was easy to compose this tracklist: I already wrote the review last year, so it was basically copy-paste. Anyway, the music in this tracklist is pure bliss. I’ve enjoyed every time I have heard this mix. And it’s one of those mixes I have heard many times, over and over, and it wouldn’t disappoint me. If there’s a heaven I picture the angels playing this mix. Or just this mix. This is heaven in its purest form. The quality of the tunes is beyond belief, but we are all aware that Anjunabeats releases excellent music. They create masterpieces (well, the artists do, but you know what I mean). They give artists the platform they deserve. And by doing so they give us the music we need to survive our endless life. But what a way to live your life: press play and you will enter a new dimension, one you have not discovered before. Last year I mentioned my favourite record, and it still is the same. Above & Beyond’s ‘Can’t Sleep’ is a good ‘un, but still nothing can beat this seriously amazing record ‘Meet Me In Montauk’, remixed by Oliver Smith. This, to me, is probably one of the greatest Trance records ever made. If we could experience euphoria, this track is the way to do it. Let the music cover you and take you on a magical trip. You don’t need mushrooms to get high, just this one track. Or get high on this mix. DJ Midas has made a stunning mix I HAD to share again. Underrated slightly, but there’s still time to appreciate quality. And also quantity: 41 records in 4 hours. No bullshit mixes with 1296293 records in 10 minutes, but thankfully nice long extended version. That’s how to do it. Press play to hear the best ever! Not a lot of mixes can top this one. - gabberhead labelmix part 2 (2025)Gabberhead. A label from the 90s. One that originally ran from 1996 to 1997, according to the Discogs information available, and then got revived in 2018. The Gabberhead could never be buried, it had to come back to life. And the life it's been having since it was brought back, has been a tremendous one. I've been seeing a lot of posts online about new releases, and they bring me lots of joy. The early sound, kept alive in 2025. Hell yes! Gabber in the 90s came to an abrupt end toward the end of 1998. Deserved or not, it had to go underground to emerge as one of the fiercest sounds out there. But don't we sometimes wish the 90s sound was kept alive? Thankfully there are a few labels out there who do just that. Keeping it alive and kicking. And Gabberhead is just that one label that does that, and does it with brute force. Unbelievable amount of releases since they emerged out of the slumber. Now, the mix I've been listening to, was made by keytown connection. Unfortunately not seen or heard that name before, but keytown connection had a few releases on the label, and in this appreciation mix will you find a few of them. And obviously a few more. But don't let the amount of tracks in this mix fool you: it's only 53 minutes long. Long enough to keep you on your toes, and relive the 90s again. Kozieum - Drifting Falling Januskopf - More Muscle The Keytown Connection - Bomdigi Bastard Bros & Project Fire - Rastaman Crushjaw - Helicopter Corrat & Usamov - Hallujah Gabberhead - Shut It Down The Keytown Connection - Soundboy RETRO Original Hardcore - Gabberdansen Rex Rawhead & Ki - Keep On Rocking Kev Gee & Devastate - Creamy (Biodome Remix) Mindfxck - Big Guns DJ Atomix & The Keytown Connection - Riots In The Streets Johnny 7 - Bad Bitch Jedyny - The Dream Is Dead Detachment 1 - Width Mode DJ Atomix & Tha Doge Jr - Mad World Los Munanos & Detachment 1 - From The Beginning Gabberhead & Corrat - Innocence (Corrat Remix) THC - Ass Explode Dr Zombie - Let Me Go Project XTC - Sick MF Earlymilan - Totally Computer1Zed Cacophony Of Sounds - Do The Damn Thing Gorebehead & Sevenum Six - 2 Intoxicated Memory Wow. A tracklist filled with so many unknown names... unbelievable! Not all of them are unknown to me, but what that does show me, is that there are a few people out there, who do love to keep the early 90s sound alive. And for them doing so, I give them all the love and appreciation. As it's a sound we do sorely miss. It is a fantastic mix with a lot of new stuff that is made to represent the 'old'. And the old always remains the finest. To me it feels like discovering an old album I've not heard in years, under a huge pile of dust. And after pressing play, you know it will all go down extremely well! Volume on max, weather atrocious (and thundering too), but you cannot spoil my gabber enthusiasm with anything negative. This is the happiest I can be today. The Keytown Connection has picked some wicked records here. Including their own. So many familiar chords from the 90s, so many familiar kicks, drums, and many more. They suit the 90s extremely well. The track that got me the most hyped up, is of course the first one in this mix. 'Drifting Failing'. So happy, but oh so good. Just the right amount of bounce and oomph. A fantastic mix to end the week with. And remember kids, Hardcore will never die. Nor will Gabber, but deep down inside we already knew that! Ps. one side note. This is volume 2. Where's volume 1? - Sied van Riel - Rielism (2011)I am a huge fan of Sied van Riel. And I'm not kidding. I'm rielly a massive fan. Since I discovered his 'In Riel Time' trailer (which was for his upcoming album back in the day), I was hooked. I freaking LOVED that album, and every album he's rieliesed ever since. His sets and his mixes have been tremendously great, and a couple of days ago, I went onto Amazon Music to find them all, and I was so happy to discover his first 'Rielism' album on there. I had to give it another listen, and one listen turned out to be at least 45 listens up until now. Sied van Riel is a legend. He's been a bit quiet over the last couple of years, not really sure what happened. But his albums sure aren't quiet. They, to me, are the greatest things to have come out of the Trance scene. Sied van Riel is a gift to us all, and his album surely embraced his impact on the Trance scene back in 2011. Can't believe this album is 14 years old! Hell, his 'In Riel Time' album is 16 years old?! Has it been 16 years since I discovered his music? Obviously, me being a fan of Sied, I've got all his albums, listened to his songs over and over on YouTube and Soundcloud, and even owned a bit of his merchandise, but unfortunately the dryer shrunk my clothes, or I've gained weight. I blame the dryer. From a musical point of view, I am in awe of this man and his music. He's made so many awesome records up until he gone quiet. This first 'Rielism' CD is everything you wanted to hear. Obviously the discs came as continuous mixed CDs, but if you want to hear the songs in full length, click the player below, and have a listen. You will not be disappointed. CD 1: Re-Zone & Zmey - One Love, one Life, One Fate (Dean Newton Remix) Zack Roth - Silver Of Blue Vinson - Circular Progression Chris Domingo & Derek James - Call Waiting Danny Chen - Oceanside BT feat Jes - The Light In Things (tyDi Remix) Julius Beat & Eddy Kamora - Real Life (KhoMa Remix) Simmons & Blanc - Sweet Sour Allure feat Henrik B - Mariestad Save The Robot - Red City Sied van Riel & Claudia Cazacu - Lights Off Setrise & Matthew Nagle - Nailed It Lange presents NRG - Harmony Will Kick You In The Ass (Lange Mix) Akira Kayosa & Michael Dow presents Alderney - Unbreakable CD 2: Espen Lorentzen feat Simon Latham - The Light Inside (Dub Mix) Sied van Riel - Telephone Junkies Ruby & Tony - Randers Spark7 & Thomas DeColita - ID 22 Simmons & Blanc feat Chloe Langley - State Of Emergency Allure - I Am Ronski Speed presents Sun Decade feat Emma Lock - U Got Me (Club Mix) Daniel Kandi & Phillip Alpha - Don't Fix It Arty feat Tania Zygar - The Wall Juventa - Dionysia (Skytech Remix) Richard Durand - Airwell Jorge Nava & Tucandeo feat Frieda Harnesk - Somewhere I Belong (Eric Shaw's Big Room Dub) Webster vs Baker - Chainsaw (Fred Baker Mix) MEM - Illumination Sied van Riel feat Nicole McKenna - Stealing Time This is a wonderfully mixed CD with some amazing yet underrated anthems you don't hear or see that often. To me, this is a glorious mix. Perfect at any given time. Sied did his best to compose this album, and the result is an astonishing album, one to be proud of. Certainly something to be proud of. I've had this mix on repeat (both CDs) for days now. The Sun is glazing through the blinds, and the heat inside this newbuild is unbearable, but the music makes it worthwhile. You can just imagine yourself, on a beach or a club, hearing these tunes. Sun on your skin, drink in one hand, and the other hand way up in the air. This is Heavenly music, that's for sure. And the album is a masterpiece. It is as good as 'In Riel Time' and all the other albums in the 'Rielism' series. But unfortunately they came to an end, and also Sied's music career. I've had a quick look, and he decided to give it up, and lead a 'normal' life. Respect for the man, but hopefully he does know how much of a loss it is, not having his input in the music scene. Get rid of all the other DJs, give me Sied any day! As this is a 2 disc CD, let me pick one from each album. And you might think it's difficult, but it's dead easy. There are two tracks so good, they outweigh themselves compared to the other tracks. 'Circular Progression' by Vinson. My Gawd, it's like the angels are singing to me. Beautiful record. Without a shadow of a doubt, the best of CD 1. 'ID 22' has to be the best from the second disc. What a catchy tune that is. Won't leave my head for days. It's sad to see Sied not being a producer, DJ and label owner, but I hope he's happy. And I'm happy if he's happy. At least we've got the Rielism CDs. They are just so damn magical. To me, and that's a personal opinion, they are the finest Trance CDs out there. If you haven't checked this CD out yet, you should do that. I urge you to do so. You will not be disappointed. - Trance Classics 05.06.2025It's been a fantastic weekend. The weather was perfect, and we even found the time to have a BBQ. And during the BBQ, guess what was on? A smashing Trance mix. Whilst a lot of people are watching Glastonbury, I am not. I am easily entertained with a solid Trance mix. I don't need anything else. And that's exactly what happened today. I discovered this mix a few weeks ago, but only found the time today to give it a go. And it was certainly worth it. At the beginning of this year I reviewed a mix by Legacy Trance, and I think that was my introduction to the channel. Now, a few month into 2025, it's time for the follow up review. This time a brand spanking new mix with some awesome Trance classics. Can't go through a week without listening to at least one awesome mix, and it is looking great for Legacy Trance's mix. The tracklist is a seriously insane looking one. When I say this mix is good, I do mean it. It might be extremely hot today and the next few days, but let's raise the temperature even higher. Make sure you are in an airco cooled environment, because it's going to be hot. Obviously not helping that this mix is dope AF. It's got some serious bangers in here. They are the classics I wanted to hear, and I urge everyone to listen to. This is paradise, in a 2 hour and 22 minute long mix. 01 Sander Kleinenberg - My Lexicon 02 Ernesto vs Bastian - Lonely People 03 John 00 Fleming vs M.I.K.E - Dame Blanche 04 Sayla - Second Thoughts 05 System F - Needlejuice 06 Robert Nickson - Twisted by Design 07 Moon Project - Housebuilder 08 Apollonia - Andromeda Heights 09 Robert Gitelman - Children of the Sun 10 M.I.K.E - Fuego Caliente 11 Active Sight - Adrenaline 12 Mesh - Persuasion 13 Marksun & Brian - Neno Itome (Stoneface & Terminal Remix) 14 George Hales - Autumn Falls 15 Free State - Release 16 Jochen Miller - India 17 Fred Baker Vs Nyram - Confirmation 18 Rank 1 - Awakening 19 The Crazy Drummer - Runner (Crazy Drummer Remix) 20 Steve Birch - Spaced Out 21 Drax - Amphetamine (2001 Rework) 22 Second Sun - Empire (TPOD Mix by PVD) I instantly feel 20 years younger again. This is a serious mix with some awesome tracks. Yes, it even includes a few I've not heard before, but don't worry, I am very open-minded and can appreciate everything. This is the perfect mix to listen to when you are preparing food for the BBQ, or when you are in charge of the BBQ. We live in a new estate and not many people were around, so we could enjoy the music. At the same time, the food was sizzling and getting ready to be devoured, and the whole garden was blue. The sun was also beating on our bodies, but that's nothing to worry about. As long as the music is good, every negative becomes a positive. There are a lot of wicked tunes in here. And what a way to start your mix. 'My Lexicon'. Christ, that's a solid start. And it goes on and on, track after track. The two which stood out the most, were 'Children Of The Sun' and 'Confirmation'. You don't see them that often in other mixes. Are they under appreciated? To me, they are the best two tracks in this mix, bar none. It's a fantastic mix, and I cannot wait for the next one. I do believe Legacy Trance's mix was the first one to kick off the new Year, and I hope that channel keeps on releasing new mixes. I am addicted, and I love it. I need more Trance. More, I tell you. - 90's Mokum Records (2025)Saturday evening. It is hot, and clammy. And today, a lot of people have gone raving. It is that time of the year again: temperatures are going up, and people leave their houses to go to these wonderful places, and they let themselves go. It's party time, and we've deserved it. I hope all these people rave safely, and stay lubricated (=hydrated). For more it would be an amazing thing to do, raving, but I'm getting old, more miserable, and cannot tolerate people anymore. Phones down, hands in the air, and stomp your feet. That's my motto. Don't need a video of the DJ: there will be an afterparty video on YouTube within a week! Just enjoy yourselves. So, instead of going out, I'm sitting at home, thinking of the good ol' days. The 90s. They were fantastic years. And I still regard them as the best years of Dance music. Of course, Gabber/Hardcore came out of nowhere and dominated my life since 1993, but Dance music in general was so damn good. For today's mix, we will focus on Gabber/Hardcore, and this small Indie label from Amsterdam... you might have heard of it: Mokum Records. Of course, I am kidding. Who doesn't know Mokum? I always liked the music from both Rotterdam and Amsterdam, but over the last few years have I discovered within myself that the music from Amsterdam had the most influence on me, growing up. And J.O.E.'s latest mix, which is solely focussed on Mokum, has got all the big tracks in here, which I truly adored as a kid/teenager, and now as a 40+ year old man, I still adore. And they are still going strong. No rest for the wicked, eh? Neither does J.O.E. rest, as he keeps on releasing awesome mixes on Soundcloud. But what's in store today? What did he use for his Mokum mix? 1. DJ Chosen Few feat MC Lunatic - F**king Hardcore #7 2 . DJ Chosen Few - Name Of My DJ 3. DJ Chosen Few - All You Motherf**kers 4. And how many of us would consider at least one of these to be the best Hardcore record of all time? Yes, you would state 'Name Of The DJ' to be the best, if not one of the greatest Hardcore anthems of all time. I do underline that statement. Of course with a mix that contains 39 records, there will be multiple excellent records, and during the 90s one of the records that dominated and penetrated my eardrums the most, was 'Guyver' by Tellurian. 'Used & Abused' was also a big hit. I don't need to mention 'I Wanna Be A Hippy', that's too obvious. But to me, going back to the Earthquake CDs, 'Who's Afraid Of The Noise' by Ceasefire. Completely forgot this one even existed. How good is that track? J.O.E. made a fabulous mix with some serious Hardcore bangers. Mokum Records surely was one of the greatest labels in the Netherlands during the 90s, and is still loved and appreciated by many. This mix will surely be on repeat for the upcoming days. Not being helped that the temperatures are going to be high, and this being blasted at me... but you only live once, enjoy it as much as you can. And this mix, I highly enjoyed it! DJ: J.O.E. - Tranceformerz Presents Trance World Volume 4 (The Anthems) (2025)It is Saturday, and it's boiling hot. Not just because of this mix, but in general. The temperatures have gone up after a few OK days, but now they are back to the low 30s. And it's windy at the same time. So no party in the garden, nor a party indoors. Unless you've got a pool. In that case, go bonkers! Have a blast, have a party. And I've got the perfect mix for your pool party, one I've been listening to since 8am. You can thank me later. It's a mix by TranceAdikt. But truth be told, aren't we all addicts? Addicted to Trance music, right? Unless you are a die-hard hater of Trance. I don't envy you. How can you live your life without knowing the beauty, the harmonious, the glorious Trance anthems? I couldn't, and wouldn't want to imagine a world in which I could not hear Trance music at all. That would be a living hell for me. Truth be told, it's not my most favourite genre (which is Hardcore), but Trance is second. I found this mix on the TranceFormerz Soundcloud channel (funny wordplay, love it), and there's a lot more where that came from. I think they are up to the sixth instalment of this series, but they've got so much more to offer. The reason why I chose this mix, is because it contains the word 'Anthems'. And I do love me some great Trance anthems. And according to the title, it's got 'the anthems'. I am curious, and want to see/hear more. Here's the tracklist, if you are curious too! 01 - BiXX - Master The Mind (Extended Mix) 02 - Peter van Wave - Mystra (Extended Version) 03 - Nick Van Kukaj - Eagle Strike (Extended Mix) 04 - Peter van Wave - Mystra (Extended Version) 05 - Sam Laxton - I Wanna Dance (Extended Mix) 06 - Yohai Mor - Melody of My Heart (STNX & BANKBURN Extended Remix) 07 - Darren Aitken - An Angel's Call (Extended Mix) 08 - ID - ID 09 - Paipy - Reflection (Extended Mix) 10 - Paipy - Ocean (Extended Mix) 11 - Casey Rasch - All For Us (Extended Mix) 12 - Asteroid - Flow State ( Extended Mix) 13 - Mario Moon & Dave AirmaX - Desire (Extended Mix) 14 - Solarstone - Seven Cities (Paul Steiner Rework) 15 - Sinéad O’Connor vs. Rank 1 - Nothing Compares 2 U vs. Airwave (Ronski Speed Mashup) 16 - Exouler - Far Away (Extended Mix) 17 - Talla 2XLC & Roger Shah - Perfection (Extended Mix) 18 - The Space Brothers - Shine (Jorn van Deynhoven Extended Remix) 19 - BBE - 7 Days & One Week (Nicholson Remix) 20 - Underworld - Born Slippy (Jorn van Deynhoven Rework) 21 - ID - ID I thoroughly enjoyed these anthems. But, before we proceed, I had a different 'anthem' in mind when I read the title. They are still solid as a rock though, don't get me wrong. But a different kind of anthem. Hey ho, at least it got me through today, and hopefully it will do the same to you. I've got to be honest, not heard the majority of these songs before. And I wish I did not hear the 'Nothing Compares 2 U vs Airwave' song. Christ, that isn't my favourite song. It's the complete opposite. All the tracks are good, but that one isn't my jam. It kind of sucks. Sorry Ronski Speed, but that's not a good song. On their own, yes. Blended together, no. The one track that I really liked, is untitled. It's the last record in this mix. I'm guessing the title is 'Yeke Yeke', but that track really does something to me. Reminds me of the original, and the original is a dope ass song. TranceAdikt has made a very interesting mix. One minor song, but don't let that put a downer on the whole mix. It's just one song, and you are getting 21 in total! Hell, maybe you will even like the one I didn't. Just close your eyes and enjoy this mix, and let the Summer of 2025 hit you hard! - DJ Promo Megamix [Early Hardcore Tracks Only] By DJ Ad (2025)It is Wednesday, and I'm off today. Which is obviously a glorious thing. I'm highly recommend taking a day mid week off. But we've got family coming over, so we have been awake for hours now, making the house shiny and sparkly. During those chores, I require some hard to the core music, to give me the power and energy to do the job, and he job needs to be done properly. Thank the Lord for Soundcloud and one of the latest mixes I've found, as that one brought me a lot of joy and happiness. I am a DJ Promo fan. I love his Millennium work. That shit is just next level. He has been the pioneer we needed during those rough years for Hardcore, and he gave us everything our hearts desired. But we often forget that he started making music mid 90s. Actually, according to Discogs, he started back in 1992. So he's been around for quite a while now. And those 90s anthems tend to be forgotten, mostly. And for no apparent reason. I fell in love with DJ Promo's music when he released 'Shut Up!', which was 1997. And stayed in love ever since. It's been an amazing journey, and as much as I love his Millennium music, the 90s should not be underestimated. He has made some wicked anthems which have stood the test of time. And as I grew up with his music, he deserves more recognition for his 90s music. Thankfully DJ Ad made a mix which contains only his early Hardcore work. A short yet very sweet mix to listen to. DJ Promo - I Wanna Freak You DJ Promo - Burning 4 U DJ Promo - This Underground Sound DJ Promo - Bad Boy DJ DJ Promo - Blastin The System DJ Promo - Feel The Vibe DJ Promo - Like A Maniac DJ Promo - Underground Wayz DJ Weirdo & Dr. Phil Omanski - One Tribes James (DJ Promo Mix) Brian Acardy - Ya Gangsta Music DJ Promo - Warface DJ Promo - Thunder In My Heart 3 Steps Ahead - I'm A H.C.M.F. (DJ Promo Mix) DJ Promo - Shit To Die For DJ Promo - Sing It Louder DJ Promo - Can't Hold Me Down DJ Promo & Solo - Psycho Style DJ Promo - Killerz DJ Promo - The Incredible DJ Promo - Shut Up! DJ Promo - Bring It Raw! The Viper - Hardcore Gangster (DJ Promo Remix) The Judges feat DJ Promo - I Am The Law What a trip down memory lane! These are the classic Promo records I grew up with. And they have stood the test of time. They are fantastic, and as much as they sound different to the Millennium sound, in which he became the leader, I sometimes prefer the 90s sound. Hell, even he made the decision to make and release a new song, which sounds like the 90s Promo style (Thunder In My Heart). It personal preference. You might not prefer his 90s style, and prefer his Millennium sound. Or you could love both. It all boils down to personal preference, and to me any Promo anthem suits me. The 90s sound is dope as fuck, as it gave him the platform to develop his legendary Promo files anthems. But he had to start somewhere, and that was during the glorious 90s. DJ Ad picked a lot of wicked anthems. Too many to choose from. It's a short mix, only 46 minutes long, but it's a glorious one. Some well known, some more obscure anthems. And the stuff which got played during his set at Mysteryland 1998 Outdoor edition, that's the stuff I wanted to hear. 'Underground Wayz' is such a wicked yet underrated anthem. Promo has been, and will always remain, a true pioneer. During the 90s he came, entered the scene, and grew into the legend. If anyone would have asked Promo in 1996 if he was going to be the leader of the next phase of Hardcore music (Millennium), would he have known for that to become the truth? Probably not.... but we are glad he became our hero. - DJ A.K. - Classic Trance Mix 10.05.25The weekend is about to end, another working week only a few hours away. Time has flown too damn fast, but at least we can look ahead to a glorious week, with temperatures nice in the mid to high 20s. Temperatures are going up, and with the pleasant weather ahead, the music that accompanies this week, must be as cool and must contain Summer vibes. Leave that to DJ A.K. and his awesome Soundcloud channel. It's like he knew what is coming, and what mix we needed to hear. Trance always embraces the hot temperatures, and I don't know why that is. Maybe because of the vibes it generates, or just in general. Trance seem to have this atmosphere surrounding it, which makes me feel like it works best during the Summer period. And on the 20th of this month, it will officially be the Summer of 2025, so perfect timing, mr A.K. Perfect timing. His channel is the best one out there, with the most random mixes. Whatever his mood is, the mix always embraces his mood. From Trance to UK Hardcore, from Jungle to Drum & Bass, from Gabber to Hard Dance. His channel has got everything you need, if you are into those kinds of music. I could have gone for something harder and rougher, but the Sun was blasting through the window, and I thought ''fuck it, I need to mellow down slightly''. No Hardcore for me today, nor the next few days. But what's in store for us all? Well, these are the records he has selected: 01. Ayla - Ayla (Veracocha Remix) 02. System F - Out Of The Blue (Angelz Remix) 03. Gouryella - Gouryella 04. Liquid Child - Diving Faces 05. Cygnus X - The Orange Theme (Moonman's Orange Juice Mix) 06. Alice Deejay - Better Off Alone (DJ Jam X & DuMonde Remix) 07. Tillmann Uhrmacher feat Peter Ries - Free (Club Mix) 08. Push - Universal Nation 99 (Oliver Lieb Remix) 09. Olive - You're Not Alone (Bobina Megadrive Remix) 10. Chakra - Love Shines Through 11. Lady Tom - It's A Dream (DJ Red 5 vs Hypertrophy Remix) 12. Ascension - Someone (Vocal Mix) 13. Motorcycle - As The Rush Comes (Armin Van Buuren's Universal Religion Remix) 14. Babe Instinct - Disco Babes From Out Of Space (Lange Remix) 15. Westbam vs Red Jerry - Wizards Of The Sonic ( Matt Darey Remix) 16. Gigi D'Agostino - I'll Fly With You (L'Amour Toujours) (Vicious Vocal Mix) 17. The Generator - Where Are You Now 18. Mario + Presents More - All I Need (Hardbeat Mix) 19. Mike Koglin - The Silence You cannot go wrong with these songs, you simply cannot. They have become all time classics, and will be listened to long after we've left this Earth. They are genuinely timeless classics, and I'm happy to have lived in the decade during which they were released, and played at all the parties I went to. But A.K. made some changes. Some of these records aren't the original versions, or the well known versions. And that surprises me: I thought I'd heard everything there is to hear, when it comes to Trance. But it's a pleasant change to hear, as these versions work well too. Maybe the reason I've not heard them before is because they are slightly underrated? I do like the 'Better Off Alone'' song, remixed by Jam X & DuMonde, and ''You're Not Alone'', remixed by Bobina Megadrive, but the one that is a true classic, ''As The Rush Comes''. Not heard this version before, but I love it. I love it a lot. Those vocals are just next level, right? It's a brilliant mix for the upcoming week. Press play right now, and let this mix guide you through a very hot and sweaty week. You've deserved it. Hell, we all deserve it! More of this, please. Mr. A.K., more of these gorgeous Trance mixes! - Slammin' Vinyl History Mix 92-95 (2025)In April of this year I discovered a new channel on Soundcloud. One that goes by the name of Dave Junglist. And his promo mix for an event focussed on the oldskool was very tasty, very great to listen to. But now he's stepped it up a notch, and gone all out. And when I say all out, I do mean all out. A Slammin Vinyl history mix, focussed on the year 1992 to 1995. And trust me when I say, those are some amazing years. Slammin Vinyl was, and stil is a very prolific label that has done a lot for the raving community. In 1992 I was only 8 or 9 years old, so not fully aware of what Rave music was, and what kind of influence it would have on me years later, but I'm glad I eventually caught up on the awesome music that was released one this label. And of course, the music made by Red Alert & Mike Slammer, that's just next level stuff. Not really sure what happened to these two legendary producers, but after 1996 nothing was released anymore. Anyone have an idea what happened? Dave Junglist is taking us back to the wonderful years. And I'm jealous of everyone who was old enough at the time, who went raving like no one did before, and danced until their feet started to bleed, and the sun came up again. And also the whistle crew, they were there too. Maybe we can attribute the drugs element to the early days too. But I'm jealous if you did rave to these tunes when they were new, fresh, and exciting. DJ Red Alert & Mike Slammer - Just Wanna Hold U Tight D Force - Original Bad Boy DJ Red Alert & Mike Slammer - Heavy Duty D Force - Ruff!! DJ Red Alert & Mike Slammer - Don't Need Your Love D Force - Step Up General DJ Red Alert & Mike Slammer - In Effect DJ Red Alert & Mike Slammer - 1-2-3 DJ Red Alert & Mike Slammer - In Effect (Remix) DJ Red Alert & Mike Slammer - Ackers DJ Red Alert & Mike Slammer - F*ckin Hardcore DJ Red Alert & Mike Slammer - Ganjaman DJ Red Alert & Mike Slammer - In Effect (Dark Dub) DJ Red Alert & Mike Slammer - Ruffer!!! Dave picked some amazing records. And if you are a true raver, you must love these and adore these records. If you go to any oldskool focussed rave, you will certainly hear these anthems. They are still getting people on the dancefloor, and I might not go to that many raves anymore, but I still dance to these tunes in my living room. Fuck it, raver for life, Hardcore for life. These tunes are so awesome, decades after their initial release, they still have the power to get me moving. The fast paced elements are just awesome. Red Alert & Mike Slammer took raving to the next level. This isn't the first mix I've listened to, which focusses on Slammin Vinyl, and it won't be the last. I hope to hear more of these, for however long I might be alive. This is music made for the raving community, and they have become timeless classics. No messing about, just straight into the Hardcore. You would expect me to say 'Ruff!!' or ''Original Bad Boy'', but you are wrong. 'Ruffer!!!' is the anthem I'm into today. Dark and rough, that's for sure. They don't make them like they used to, and that's unfortunate. Another wicked mix by Dave, keep those mixes coming. More please, pretty please?! Were 1992 to 1995 not the greatest years for us ravers, music wise? Yes, I might have been too young, but I can still vouch for the tracks being much better than whatever is coming out today. - Januskopf @ UNIT Breda (11 Oct 2024) - Early Hardcore Classics MixJanuskopf. That's a highly unusual name, but a name which is making waves in the music scene. His first two UKHC mixes were very well received by yours truly, and 1 month ago did he upload a set which he did in October of 2024 at UNIT in Breda (The Netherlands). And it's a fantastic one. No, it's not UKHC or early UKHC, but early Hardcore! A 3 hour long set, all vinyl, and all Hardcore & Gabber anthems. A surprising set I wasn't ready for, but I highly appreciated from the first play. From a mix focussed on the Millennium UKHC sound, to Trance records from the legendary Trance Energy event, to this glorious early Hardcore set. I'm reliving my youth today! And it's a fantastic trip down memory lane. Januskopf has selected 58 records for his vinyl only set. I don't know much about the location, as I've never been or heard of it before (I have heard of Breda though. Would be a tad weird for a Dutch person NOT to know Breda). At least I've got the set, which is more important. The 90s were so damn good. You cannot describe it. It's like expressing emotions. How to explain them to others? So damn difficult. But to us, it's a way of life. Hardcore to the bone. That's for sure. And the love for Hardcore only grows when you see and hear mixes like this one, where the DJ has gone all out and dug deep in his collection. And he finds all the gems. I mean ALL the gems: the big anthems, the forgotten ones, and the ones I've not even seen before. Bring back my youth right now. And, if possible, can I gain my youthful body too? Raving from 8pm until 8am, that might be too much of a stretch for my body.... 01. Ramirez - Terapia (D.J. Ricci Mix) 02. DJ Caligula - Piano Junkie (Fab's Gabber Mix) 03. Joe Inferno - Hysteria 04. With a lot of acne and spots, but those were my younger years. Now I'm just fat and not very healthy. I need more exercises. I need more raves. Or go to the gym and play very aggressive music, like this mix. Januskopf has picked some insane records. And of course did he add a few of his own tracks in here. Not heard the majority of them before, but pleasantly surprised on how well they blended into the mix. I could have sworn they were made in the 90s, but they weren't. A fresh take on the early Hardcore sound. I love it. Yes, these were the tracks that I grew up with, and to pick a favourite is very tricky, but I might give it to 'The Box'. Closely followed by 'Hardcore To Da Bone'. That's just the ultimate crowd pleasing anthem, right? If you want to hear 3 hours of early Hardcore/Gabber, this is your mix. You will enjoy it. - Trance Energy Anthems In The Mix (Rank 1 - Svenson & Gielen - Blank & Jones - Push - Cosmic Gate) (2025)Trance Energy. Still to this day I'm not sure if I've been or not I must have been, right? I was such an ID&T fan back in the day, and I've been to a few of their events. But most of the late 90s and early 2000nd were a blur, and I've drank a lot of alcoholic beverages. I do believe I've been, but not 100% sure. And it's also not proven, as we didn't have mobile phones and required to take images constantly for Instagram, TikTok or Snapchat. No evidence unfortunately. So we have to assume. Obviously I grew up with the legendary name everywhere. But it started off very 'small', back in 1999. Slowly over the years it grew to a phenomena, an event you had to visit, if you loved Trance music. Over the years the organisation made some changes, even changed the name to 'Energy', to support other styles, but that did not do the event any justice. It faded away into obscurity, but it was never forgotten. The event had so many memorable anthems, and to many this event was the pinnacle of Trance music during the early 2000nd. I do love a set that is focussed on Trance Energy. The songs were just on another level, and so damn powerful. The Soundcloud channel Addicted To Trance uploaded this mix a few days ago, and I've already devoured the mix. Top play of course, and I will do so until my last breath. I am a die-hard gabber, but Trance is just more sublime to my ears, and I've got fond memories of those ID&T raves. The kids nowadays don't know what they are missing. Let's see what was used for this mix: 01. DJ Air feat Mel Shann – Alone With Me (Tukan Club Mix) 02. Blank & Jones – Desire (4 Strings Remix) 03. Armin van Buuren presents Rising Star – Clear Blue Moon (Original Mix) 04. Johan Gielen presents Airscape – Sosei (Original Mix) 05. Rank 1 feat Shanokee – Such Is Life (Original Mix) 06. M.O.R.P.H. – Maximum Overdrive (Benicio Remix) 07. Rank 1 – Airwave (Rank 1 vs Dutchforce Remix) 08. Push – Universal Nation (Original Mix) 09. Rank 1 – Awakening (Original Mix) 10. Svenson & Gielen – Twisted (Original Mix) 11. System F – Cry (Rank 1 Remix) 12. Cygnus X – Superstring (Rank 1 Remix) 13. Svenson & Gielen – The Beauty Of Silence (Original Mix) 14. Human Evolution – Human Evolution (Club Mix) 15. Svenson & Gielen – We Know What You Did (Johan Gielen Remix) 16. Blank & Jones – The Nightfly (Original Mix) 17. Svenson – Sunlight Theory (Trance Energy Anthem 2004) 18. Nu NRG – Dreamland (Original Mix) 19. Blank & Jones – Nightclubbing (Wippenberg Remix) 20. Johan Gielen – Dreamchild 21. Cosmic Gate – The Truth (Original Mix) Name something that can top these wonderful Trance anthems. You can't. And there's a good reason for it. Trance from 2000 to 2010 was amazing. So many compilations did I own, and these records were on each and every one of them. Christ, this is our magnus opus. This I can truly consider the greatest songs made during my youth. Yes, there might be one or two not so great, but still good enough. Why did ID&T kill Trance Energy? Damn them. Damn them. It wasn't worth it, pursuing a different kind of event. Trance was, and still is, the greatest out there. But it is what it is, and we cannot change the past. Nor would I want to, as it would have meant I would loose these awesome records. And they are awesome. Hearing those glorious 'Such Is Life' vocals, they still give me goose bumps. And 'Twisted', still a banger. 'Superstring', one of the greatest Trance anthems ever. 'The Nightfly' an underrated classic. But I've got to give it to 'The Truth' by Cosmic Gate. I can still hear that song, nearly at the end of the Sensation megamix, and the crowd screaming for merci. That is without a doubt, the best record in this mix. And one so powerful, it will be remember for generations to come, as one of the greatest Trance anthems ever. It's a great mix. A few tiny errors, but nothing to write home about. Go and jump on it, and take a trip down memory lane, when we still had Trance Energy. I am sad now. - HTID Memories Part 3 mixed by Ramos & Protocol (2025)The third instalment of the HTID series has finally been uploaded. Well, it's been nearly 2 weeks, and I've only found the time today to sit down and write about it, but at least it's not years later. I've reviewed the previous two mixes, both made by Ramos & Protocol, and now the third instalment. And as we all love the legendary lady with wings and what she stood for, it is going to be a pleasant journey, a journey lasting roughly an hour and a half. Are you ready to go back in time and relive the glorious years? I might say something that can be considered controversial, but wasn't HTID the biggest brand in the UKHC scene? Yes, it wasn't the only one, but certainly the biggest, right? Hell, at one stage I even purchased a t-shirt and walked around the Netherlands (probably the only one in NL). And who remembers those event cassettes/CDs packages? I was so proud to have lived during the time those legendary events took place, and those wonderful anthems were released. Time has changed and so has the music, and kids won't know how good we had it. And the scene was dominated by so many great names, such like Hixxy, Darren Styles, Re-Con, Breeze, Chris Unknown, Gammer, Dougal, Squad-E, Sy, and of course the two DJs who made this mix, Protocol & Ramos. And the funny thing is, these anthems stood the test of time. And everyone will be happy to hear them again. It will also make people sad, because they come from a time long gone, but at least we've got Soundcloud and we can relive the moments. As a proper Dutchman who didn't have many people around him who understood the music, I might have felt all alone in that little country, but at least I knew that there was an island, not far away, one that I could visit at any given time (before Brexit, of course), and rave the night away. Not knowing I was going to live in the UK many years later. But you can consider it my destiny. Going to live in the country who created and embraced UKHC. And still happy to live here. 1 - Infextious - Amigos (Breeze & Styles Hardcore Mix) 2 - Darren Styles feat Francis Hill - Come Running 3 - Arkane Silver - Broken Hearted (Supreme & Sunset Regime Remix) 4 - Hixxy, Dougal & Gammer - Phaze 2 Phaze 5 - Darren Styles - Flashlight 6 - Breeze & Lost Witness - Rise Again 7 - Paul EP & Smithy - All I Wanna Do (Hixxy Remix) 8 - Azora - Tell You A Secret (Breeze Remix) 9 - Re-Con, Ramos & Punch feat Deanne - Lost In Love 10 - Ramos, Mob & Protocol feat Drew - Guiding Star (Hands Up Mix) 11 - Armin Van Buuren - In and Out Of Love (Hixxy, Sy & Unknown Remix) 12 - Breeze vs Barley feat Taya - Falling (Breeze Remix) 13 - Hixxy & Chris Unknown - Konfusion 14 - Styles & Breeze feat Re-Con - Love Stick Crazy 15 - Ramos, Mob & Protocol - Signs 16 - Agnes - Release Me (Squad-E Remix) 17 - Hixxy, Ramos & Punch - You’re Gonna Love Me 18 - Sy & Chris Unknown feat Lou Lou - Right Here (Squad-E Remix) 19 - Hixxy, Ramos & Protocol - Open You Eyes 20 - Paradise - See The Light (Sy & Unknown 2007 Remix) This is a very good looking tracklist. This makes my heart melt. And unfortunately we have to conclude the following statement: they don't make them like they used to. And that's a fact. So many of these artists have moved on, and the sound coming out of the scene hasn't resembled the glorious days, it has progressed and moved forward. And as good as that might be, those golden HTID years cannot be beaten. Boy, I miss them. Ramos & Protocol keep on creating damage to my eardrums. Mix after mix, and as it's a new HTID mix, it is another one which will demolish my eardrums. And speakers too, as you cannot listen to this at low volume. Max the fuck out of your volume, and let yourself go. There are too many great anthems in here, but speaking out of experience, I have to conclude that there's one record in this mix which will get EVERY raver on the dancefloor. When this one is played, the crowd will loose their minds. And it's a no-brainer: 'See The Light'. That's' the anthem for our generation. Fantastic anthem, and in many people's 'top 10' list, for sure. Another solid mix. Keep them coming, and let us never forget those wonderful HTID years. Can anyone bring them back, please? Pretty please? - Louk - Summer Sounds Vol 2 - May 202520 more days until the official Summer starts. That's not that far away, and if you are outside today, you'll experience a nice bit of sun. It's actually very pleasant today. It feels like the Summer is just around the corner (which it is), and that it's going to be a very good one. Hell, global warming makes everything hotter anyway, so we will have a lot of heat throughout the Summer of 2025. Yeah, the grass in your garden might be fucked up due to the lack of rain, but at least we can look tanned, right? I don't know how many years it has been, but it's been a long time. I honestly can't remember the last time I listened to a Louk mix, or when I even reviewed it. But it must have been over 5 years ago. And if I'm not mistaken, it was a Techno mix. The years have flown by, and so has Louk. But thankfully I keep on seeing more and more on Soundcloud, and his latest mix, which is a very Summer focussed mix, is one I had to grab and haven't stopped listening to. This mix has been on repeat, as it's one of those mixes that keeps you going. And it also makes you happier. Come on, just look at the little smiley fella in the picture above, in front of a rainbow. He looks happy, and you can't blame him: the music Louk has picked for this mix is excellent. So great music, a happy chappie on the accompanying image, and it's also a free download: what else could you wish for? To the early 2000nd. Unexpectedly, but oh so damn worth it. I am a Trance lover since the late 90s, and hearing these glorious sounds again, it just melts me on the inside. And Louk's selection contains a lot of the lesser known anthems. And I like that. They might not get played that often, but they should get all the recognition they deserve, And hopefully through this mix they do?! Seriously, this takes me back to the days when I raved until the early hours in the morning at events such as Innercity, Sensation, Mysteryland, and a lot of local events. These would be the tunes I would hear. They might sound slightly dated, but they still get me going. I have been listening to this mix over and over today, and every single play, Louk's mix makes me happy again. A tremendous selection. But the one that gives me the most goose bumps, and the best 'underground 'vibe of this year, is 'So What' by Bug, Commie mix. What a wonderful anthem. Is this underrated or what? This is a masterpiece and it's one of those records that you hear once, close your eyes, repeat the song, and you are back on the dancefloor again, 20+ years ago. That dark and edgier sound, they don't make them like that anymore. 20 days until the Summer. Can't fucking wait. But until then, I'll be putting this mix on constant repeat. What are you going to do about it, eh? Join me, and be as happy as the chappie in the picture! - Mike Air Presents Ibiza House Classics - Summer 2023I am currently experiencing Summer withdrawals. The last couple of weeks have been very good, and it might have been a bit too damn warm for my body, but at least I got a taste of what's about to come. The Summer of 2025 might be the best one in a very long time. The weather is going to be excellent (let's remain positive) and our holiday is already booked, and I cannot wait to visit Malta, and experience an all-inclusive resort. Tropical temperatures, sunny atmosphere, drinks galore, and fantastic music. You cannot go through the Summer without banging tunes, right? And now I am enjoying life, with the sun beaming through the window, and the sky looking calm and collective. It's not technically true, as the wind is ridiculously fast and rigorous at the moment, but inside the house, I am fine. I am content. I need something to match my mood, the atmosphere I am currently in. And that's when I remembered: Mike Air, a.k.a. Iridium DJ. He has a few of these summer mixes on his Soundcloud, why not grab one of them and see if it takes me away (in my mind) to a sunny destination. He made the mix in 2023, and it's got some serious dancefloor anthems. And yes, they are Ibiza classics. You couldn't wish for anything else. Yes, you could maybe try and wish for more, and guess what? Mike has got more mixes on his Soundcloud. Nearly 7000 mixes. Not his own stuff though, but enough for us to keep us going for the next 65 years lol. And there's a lot of cool stuff, if this isn't enough, and you want to hear more. But for now, let's go forward in time, and close our eyes. Let's imagine how awesome the Summer of 2025 is going to be, with these songs being played in the background! 01. Olav Basoski vs Cece Penniston - Finally Opium (Elroy Mix) 02. Seawind Project feat Emily McEwan - Free (Knee Deep Peaktime Mix) 03. Toddy Terry All Stars - Get Down (Warren Clarke Remix) 04. Bel Amour - Bel Amour ( Milk & Sugar Club Mix) 05. Olav Basoski - Indian Summer ( Original Mix) 06. Eclip se - Makes Me Love You (Original Mix) 07. Banda Sonora - Guitarra G (G Club Original Mix) 08. M r . Hermano - Free As The Morning Sun (Seamus Haji & Paul Emanuel Remix) 09. Dr. Kucho! feat Jodie - Belmondo Rulez 2.0 (It's All About You) (Original Vocal Mix) 10. Da Slammin' Phrogz - Something About The Music (Kamasutra Extended Mix) 11. Capriccio - Everybody Get Up (Jazz-N-Groove Nu Disco Vocal) 12. Shik Stylko feat Tyree Cooper - Groove You Out Tonight (Grant Nelson & Brian Tappert's Soulcity Edit) 13. Michel De Hey vs Grooveyard - Compound (Original Mix) 14. Spirit ID - Arabian Night (Olav Basoski Remix) 15. Warren Clarke - Everybody (Main Mix) 16. Eric Prydz - Slammin' (Axwell Dub Mix) After listening to this mix multiple times, I am truly already experiencing the upcoming Summer. The songs are nice, hot and sensual, and during the set, the temperature goes up to astronomical levels. It's insane to hear these songs and be transported to somewhere sunny within a split second. But before I give you my rating, let's discuss the best song in this mix. It is one I've not heard before, but what a banging tune that is: ''Get Down''. The vocals just take this song to the next level, and it is extremely catchy. I am not kidding: just listen to the song and try to get it out of your head. Try it, and you will fail. This mix gives me early 2000nd ID&T vibes. When they decided to move away from Hardcore and embraced everything else, they released a few fantastic mix CDs, and Mike's mix just reminds me of those glorious CDs. Was it called ''ID&T Yearmix'' or something similar? Another album which has similar vibes is the promotional album by Camel, the cigarette brand, released through ID&T. An album I truly love and admire. Similar sort of vibes. It's a grand mix. It took me 2 years to find, but at least I did find it. And I'm really happy to sit here, in my comfortable bubble, enjoying life, and wishing for the Summer to start. Bring the heat, I would say. But until then, let Mike's mix be the heat for now.
