I've been off for a few days, and that's because I took a long weekend, all away from the misery and dispair. I went back to the Netherlands, the birth place of Hardcore. On the way there and back I had to listen to 80s and 90s music, and that to me is a nightmare. But in all fairness, it was only 4 days. Now I'm back, and I've found a proper oldskool Hardcore/Terror mix, one you all will enjoy. Made by Hellcreator, the artist's name says it all!
When I first heard this mix, I felt delighted. This is a sound I don't hear enough of, and it's quite unique. To me it sounds like the Hardcore/Terror music being released from 1997/1998 onwards (until the demise of Hardcore early 00s). I was a fan of this rougher sound, and I was truly in love with the 'Tunnel Of Terror' compilation (until they stopped releasing them). This sound wasn't played by the masses, but those who played it, made sure the dancefloors were destroyed.
This takes me back. And you might correct me all, but I don't know a single artist in this mix. Well, a few, but not enough to call myself a dedicated follower. But Hellcreator's mix is really an outstanding one. This is a rough and raw sound I really, really love and miss.
Time for the tracklist I reckon.

As you would expect, the music starts 'slow' and goes harder towards the end. Just the way this kind of music needs to be played. Hard, rough and tough. Boy, what an interesting mix this has been. I can't say if these are actually old 90s Hardcore tunes or tunes made in the 10s but still remaining to have the 90s sound. But whatever it might be, it's banging!
These tunes are hard as a rock! And so many will remain in your head, trust me. I'm a fan of this kind of Hardcore. To me it always resembles the rebels within the Hardcore scene, playing something different compared to the standard stuff. You need to have a feeling for this mix, otherwise it's nothing for you, but if you are like me, you will dig this mix.
Whoever Hellcreator is, he has made a banging mix! So many catchy and rough records. I couldn't pick a favourite, but if I had to, 'Drax Dungeon'. This build up is tremendous, and it does have the sound from the 90s still in it! That 'no nonsense' beats, basses and melodies coming through the speakers.
A nice welcome after a long weekend in the Netherlands. More of this please!
