Januskopf. That's a highly unusual name, but a name which is making waves in the music scene. His first two UKHC mixes were very well received by yours truly, and 1 month ago did he upload a set which he did in October of 2024 at UNIT in Breda (The Netherlands). And it's a fantastic one. No, it's not UKHC or early UKHC, but early Hardcore! A 3 hour long set, all vinyl, and all Hardcore & Gabber anthems. A surprising set I wasn't ready for, but I highly appreciated from the first play.

From a mix focussed on the Millennium UKHC sound, to Trance records from the legendary Trance Energy event, to this glorious early Hardcore set. I'm reliving my youth today! And it's a fantastic trip down memory lane. Januskopf has selected 58 records for his vinyl only set. I don't know much about the location, as I've never been or heard of it before (I have heard of Breda though. Would be a tad weird for a Dutch person NOT to know Breda). At least I've got the set, which is more important.

The 90s were so damn good. You cannot describe it. It's like expressing emotions. How to explain them to others? So damn difficult. But to us, it's a way of life. Hardcore to the bone. That's for sure. And the love for Hardcore only grows when you see and hear mixes like this one, where the DJ has gone all out and dug deep in his collection. And he finds all the gems. I mean ALL the gems: the big anthems, the forgotten ones, and the ones I've not even seen before.

Bring back my youth right now. And, if possible, can I gain my youthful body too? Raving from 8pm until 8am, that might be too much of a stretch for my body....

Fantastic! A trip down memory lane. I feel young again, a teenager. With a lot of acne and spots, but those were my younger years. Now I'm just fat and not very healthy. I need more exercises. I need more raves. Or go to the gym and play very aggressive music, like this mix.

Januskopf has picked some insane records. And of course did he add a few of his own tracks in here. Not heard the majority of them before, but pleasantly surprised on how well they blended into the mix. I could have sworn they were made in the 90s, but they weren't. A fresh take on the early Hardcore sound. I love it.

Yes, these were the tracks that I grew up with, and to pick a favourite is very tricky, but I might give it to 'The Box'. Closely followed by 'Hardcore To Da Bone'. That's just the ultimate crowd pleasing anthem, right?

If you want to hear 3 hours of early Hardcore/Gabber, this is your mix. You will enjoy it. Just sit back and put it on max volume, you won't be disappointed. You will be thoroughly pleased!
