R&S records mix (2026)

It is Wednesday, for all you that don't know. And it's yet another hectic day. I've been up since 4:30am, and have been non-stop working. It's a blessing, don't get me wrong, but I've worked long before the birds started to chirp. And it was still dark when I fired up the laptop. Obviously at that time in the morning, you can't blast 200 BPM music, you need something chill and relaxing, and I had this mix in my list for a few days now, and today's the day I'm listening to it, and so should you!

The mix in question, is focussed on the legendary label we all know, called R&S Records. That might label with the horse on the logo, I've been listening to their tunes since the early 90s, but they've been around for a tad longer. First release, according to Discogs, was in 1983! The year I was born. And they are still releasing music, how awesome is that? Obviously I know it mostly from those classic anthems from back in the day.

And a few of those have made it into this mix. Someone on Soundcloud, who goes by the name JFO DJ, made this mix, and it is as gorgeous as you want it to be. An hour long, and tracks from 1990 to 2024, and everything in between. And that's why I'm listening to this mix, as it's got everything I needed to hear. And also newer records from the label I've not heard before. A blessing in disguise, for this early bird!

What a fantastic list. Not all records are known, but those classics, you can immediately spot them. Oh, the memories, they come flooding back! The proper rave classics. And one of the biggest rave anthems of all time, 'Energy Flash'.

A solid mix, with a nice blend of oldschool and newer stuff. And I really enjoyed this mix. It takes me back to those wonderful years. And as much as I appreciate the classics, I'm going to make a bold statement, which might shocka few: I do prefer both records by Lone over the 'classics'! You weren't ready for that, were you?

Another statement which might shock a few, not a fan of 'Stella'. Neither the beer nor the song do anything for me. My least favourite record in this mix. Hope I don't offend anyone with that bombshell!

It's a great mix. It's now nearly 5pm, and this mix has been on repeat for hours on end, and I will continue listening to it, for as long as humanly possible. A great mix, focussed on a great label, with some epic anthems. You won't be disappointed, trust me!
