Raw Classics Magenta Set - Defqon 2026

Defqon.1 2026. That was certain (so far) one of the most talked about events in the world. It went global, and not for the right reasons. Well, the reasons were justified, but it was unfortunate that they had to cancel the event . First, they tried to reduce the amount of people coming to the event, and I do believe the first day happened, but the weather was dangerously hot, it would have caused too much additional issues with all the ravers attending, it was best to not wait for the inevitable to happen, and to pull the plug. Safety first.

When I initially saved this mix to listen to at a later stage, I didn't read the comment underneath the mix. I actually thought this was the set by DJ Thera, but as he was to play on the Friday (if I'm not mistaken), he didn't, so he recorded the set NOT at Defqon.1, but still gave those fans a treat. A treat containing Rawstyle classics. And obviously the majority are his own records, but you cannot deny that his tracks are very delicious, right?

DJ Thera has been causing damage for years, and this set would have been a great one to listen to, but safety comes first. As unfortunate as it might have been, hopefully the weather next year will be a tad more pleasant, and will give the raving community the opportunity to be part of this amazing festival again.

I cannot imagine raving at such high temperatures. It is currently 39 degrees Celsius outside (in our garden), and I'm WFH, and I'm already going through bottles of drinks, and sweating like never before. Imagine being surrounded by thousands of ravers who are going through the same? Not my cup of tea/

I've had this mix on repeat today, and it's been pleasant to listen to. Again, it is too damn hot outside and I'm sweating like a bloody otter, but that doesn't stop me from listening to some Rawstyle classics. You need that energetic music to keep you going, especially on a Monday morning.

DJ Thera's set is a good one. Not live at Defqon.1, but at least a memory, a pleasant one. It was an interesting turn of events, but maybe this mix can get you excited for the next event Thera plays at, or maybe even ready for Defqon.1 2027 (seems far away, but time does move quite quickly, the older you get).

I really liked this set, especially when 'Starfleet' hits. Those vocals are amazing! The song might be hard, but the vocals are really soft, and smooth. The perfect combination.

I can only recommend this mix. If you are into Rawstyle, of course. If not, why the f**k are you reading this? Go away!

Bring on Defqon.1 2027! And hope global warming is stopped before then, we do not need a repeat of what happened this year. Of maybe Defqon.1 on the North Pole? The ice is melting, but it will still be a tad cooler than the Netherlands?!
