OK, OK. Let's address the elephant in the room. It's nearly Christmas. And I've been listening to Christmas songs on and off since mid June of this year. Just a few more days of hearing those songs again, and then we have to say goodbye for 2024, but they will return in 2025. Normally I would only review 'normal' mixes, but today I decided to give a rather unusual mix a go. One you would only listen to during the last month of the year. And it's mixed by DJ Smurf. Or Smurfy Claus. Or whatever his name is lol.
No Hardcore edits, no Gabber remixes, no Hardstyle kicks, just pure Christmas songs. The only difference might be the speed each songs is played at. But everything else stays the same. It's those songs you hear on the radio everywhere. Or if you dare to go outside and walk into big buildings we call 'shops', you might hear them there too. You cannot turn the radio or TV on without hearing these. And some will bring a smile on your face...
and others might anger you. Every year the question arises: which one is the best and which is the worst. Well, both are in Smurf's mix. And I'm very passionate about my reasoning, which I won't go into today, otherwise no one will visit this website ever again. Instead, let us focus on the mix and the tunes played. You know them all, and you might love them all....

OK. This is indeed a fun mix. Don't take this mix too seriously, as it's a Christmas one. We should take each other not serious during the festive period: we even buy bad Christmas jumpers and walk around all proudly with them on.
It brings a smile on my face. Obviously the majority of records are on the radio now 24/7, but two of these are not, which I found interesting. Mariah's song. Well, this version I've never encountered, and also Run DMC's song. Never heard it before, but it is certainly funky. It's put the funk in Christmas music.
My favourite Christmas song? 'Last Christmas'. And the worst one? By far, it is 'Fairytale Of New York'. Boy, do I genuinely despise this song. I genuinely hate that song. Also, do you consider East 17s song to be a Christmas song? My opinion is no, but what's yours?
It's a fun mix. Not flawless, but Smurf was having a great time, and that's what matters. Have a holly jolly Christmas, everyone.
