Dustin Hoffman. Not my favourite actor in the whole world, but if he's on screen, I would not watch anything else. He has been in some amazing films over the years, and he has certainly earned his respect among fellow actors. Of course, he played in a certain film I watched when I was younger, and was kind of obsessed with (Hook). A well respected actor, and the one Rígur Lárus chose for the ninth edition of his 'Take' series. Not the latest instalment, but certainly one you could listen to, and enjoy.
This one is five years old, but still sounds fresh. The reason why I'm talking about this 'old' mix, is because I've been listening to a lot of excellent music lately, and have rekindled a love for a particular track, one that Rígur Lárus also loved, and he kindly informed me that this specific track was also in the ninth edition of his own series, so obviously I had to give it a go. And whenever it comes to Rígur Lárus, I have to listen to his mix. I simply have to.
I'm probably the one who listened the most to his mixes, especially the later ones. I think number 20 is my most favourite, or was it the one with Arnold Schwarzenegger? Oh, they are both gorgeous. But does Dusting Hoffman come close? This one does not come with an intro of any kind, you are thrown into the deep from the first second. But sometimes you do not need an intro, you just need awesome music. And it's down to you, to judge if Rígur Lárus did choose some awesome records or not.

How does he find these beautiful records? How does he do that? Every single mix I've encountered, he just plays the finest records money can buy, and this ninth edition isn't an exception. He delivers yet another awesome mix, and the tracks are all solid as fuck.
It has been a fantastic journey, and I'm glad I had the opportunity to listen to this mix. It has been on repeat for the last few days, and it has been my trusted companion on the M25 and the M1 (highways in the United Kingdom, if you weren't aware). The tracks made me feel pleasant enough on the road, and nothing could bother me on my way home. It might look like the tracks are a tad weird, and should not work together, but in an unusual way, all 23 records do work well together.
Which one works the best? Well, I would give all the credit to 'Only When I Lose Myself'. What a masterpiece of a record! Simplicity, yet it has got so much depth to it, it is unreal what this record does to me. But I would also give credit to 'Trust Me'. Another epic record.
I can only share my love and appreciation for this mix series, and it is certainly one you need to listen to, if you've got the time. Rígur Lárus does not disappoint, and does not fail. He only delivers, and I cannot wait for the 21th edition to be released. We need more of these mixes in our lives, wouldn't you agree?
