I am Dutch, if you haven't noticed yet (just look at the name of this website!), and I'm a fan of Hardcore music since 1993. Obviously I have been reviewing many mixes over the years, And obviously, it is down to everyone's personal preference, and some might prefer the early stuff, or the Millennium, or the present day music. To me, the early and Millennium both share the same platform for me, and the other week, I had an itch, one I couldn't scratch myself. I had to rely on my trusted streaming platform, and thankfully it was there, with a massive back scratcher!

I was looking for an album by Tha Playah. One of only a handful artist albums I've ever owned. More a compilation guy, But the only album I've ever owned and I had an urge to listen to recently, was the album by Tha Playah, which was called 'The Greatest Clits'. Obviously a very x-rated title, but I think Tha Playah went through a very sexual/sensual phase, as a few of the titles are very sex orientated. Which is OK to me, but it might not appeal to all.

To me, Tha Playah was one of those artists who dominated the Millennium years, and especially made so many memorable anthems. I do believe that a lot of his music was played at Raving Nightmare, in Maastricht (Limburg, The Netherlands). He mastered the sound, and became a leader in excellence. He has contributed so much, and that was probably the reason why I purchased this album. A two disc album, with some serious Millennium Hardcore anthems. Some extremely well known, some completely forgotten.

Did you have this album? Have you even heard of it? If you haven't, please venture into the wonderful world of Tha Playah and his greatest clits...

This is Millennium Hardcore in a nutshell. And it is glorious! It takes me back to those years, and without really realising, how much of an impact did his music have on us all? I cannot ignore his music, and neither should you!

Now the difficult question, which clit do you prefer? Oh, pardon me, I mean which disc. The first, which has got young clits, or the second, with the much older clits? This sounds so damn wrong, and if said at a work place, you would definitely see HR in a split second. But knowing myself, I would go for the young one, as those were certainly the ones you would hear at any massive rave at the time.

Of course, his biggest hit has to be 'Fuck The Titties', still played at events all over the world. But the album appealed to me more, because of 'Bling Bling'. What a monster track. But over the years, I've grown to love 'The Explained' more.

Don't get me wrong, they are all masterful, and well composed, but those two records stand out. If I had to pick one from the second CD, it has to be 'Mastah Of Shock', closely followed by 'Weird Shit'.

A wonderful album, and I'm glad to have rediscovered it. It's been a few years, but the album has not lost its impact, and how awesome these records are. And how much I miss that sound from 20+ years ago. It was so damn exciting to hear all these producers mastering their skills, and all the great music that came out of our scene, is still appreciated and loved by many, including yours truly.

Found the album on YouTube. If you don't have that, find it from your preferred streaming platform. But you should definitely find this, these clits won't disappoint you! (I initially found it on Amazon Music, but for some strange reason, it won't allow me to share it through my website)
