Bella Hardstyle Italia | TNT, Zatox & Tatanka | DEDIQATED (2020)
A couple of days ago I reviewed a set from Dediqated, which contained the early Hardstyle legends A*S*Y*S, Dana, Pila, Pavo, and Luna. But because of the fact that I've checked one set on Youtube, the algorithm gave me more sets from Dediqated 2020. The next set I saw was the Bella Italia set, which contained a few of the legends, that took the Italian sound, and radiated toward the rest of the world: Zatox, Technoboy, Tuneboy, and Tatanka. And I normally wouldn't write more than one review from one event, but after hearing the set that they did back in 2020 (pre-lockdown number 1037084 for my fellow Dutchman/woman), I just had to share it with you all.
The Qlubtempo Parade set was amazing, and took me right back to the early years, but don't underestimate the Italians during the rise of Hardstyle. With their own unique approach to the newish formed music style, they gave it a much needed more melodic input, and the outcome were some amazing and legendary records.
Obviously these DJs do not need an introduction, and neither does this event. The first set I watched was already amazing, but now during this set you can see the crowd give even more power. More fists in the air, more feet stomping, and less mobiles in the air. And that's a good thing. You needed to soak in every second imaginable, especially when it's Q-Dance's 20th anniversary. A lot has happened in those 20 years, and to reminisce what happened throughout those years, you couldn't leave the Italians out of this. Their contribution remains significant, and gained a cult status. Especially the track which they started their set with. Is that the best Hardstyle track ever made? You make that call, you make that decision. Just have a look at the tracklist and prove me wrong...

FUCK. I wish I went to this event. I'm now seeing more and more sets from Dediqated, and each and every one of them just gives me goosebumps. But this one especially gives me goosebumps from the first second to the last. The tone is set from the first record, and this Italian invasion remains still highly liked and much appreciated. Just look at the crowd in this video during 'Ti Sento' and 'Rage'.They go fully insane. And so was I, here in my living room, in 2022, Nearly 2 years after the event took place.
Shit, that means I've got to wait until 2025 for the next big Q-Dance event? Well, it all depends on fucking COVID and how much it will impact the world again. Fuck COVID, Omicron, Delta variant, or whatever is going to emerge out of nowhere. Wish I could go back in time, to the years when the Italians dominated the Hardstyle scene.
Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of other Italian Hardstyle artists, but they had to make a decision, and decided that these four would represent Italy. Some on Youtube were complaining also about the lack of certain songs by other Italian producers, but come on, at least they played these 27 records. Their set was only 'short' compared to normal sets ...
They could have selected more songs from Italy's finest producers, but that list could be thousands of songs long. At least they played 'Ti Sento' right? The biggest and most memorable tune ever made. When it kicks in, and the crowd sings along, it gives me goosebumps!!! Fuck it, I'm going to say it... the best Hardstyle tune ever made?
It's an amazing set, and the recording is just perfect. 27.000 people raving pre-lockdown. It must have been very special. All the songs selected good, the MC is ok-ish (not a fan of MCs in general though, but let's be positive for once). The crowd loved it, and so do I.
Dediqated 2025? I'm coming for you.
