After a short hiatus I'm back with a brand new mix for you all to discover. A mix with a lot of praise. A mix people weren't ready for, but once released, didn't realise how much they actually needed this mix. A mix filled with 2000s UK Hardcore anthems, focussed on the more vocally, melodic anthems, and it's mixed by Claxton. His name did appear on the previous website, but it's been quiet (or maybe I've not looked properly). No matter what happened, his latest mix is definitely causing a tremor among my FB friends. People seem to love his mix, and need this 2000 sound more than ever!
I'm lately in this Happy buzz, I'm feeling the happiness all around me, and Claxton's mix suited me extremely well. I think I was actually the first to 'like' this mix, and saved it, to check out later. The tracklist initially blew me away, and it was the reason for me to check it out at a later stage. Today is the day. I needed a few days off not reviewing anything, but now I'm back, and because of Claxton, the UK Hardcore vibe is taking over again. And it's taking me back to the early Millennium years, the years that made me fall in love with UK Hardcore (sadly there's no such scene in The Netherlands, and I had to rely on CDs being sent to me).
I was bitting by the UK Hardcore bug, and from that moment my love for this euphoric, happy, and vocally approach to Hardcore was exactly what was missing in my life. And it's those tracks similar to the ones used by Claxton that made me fall in love. The more uplifting stuff, and the vocally tracks. For this 77 minute long mix he selected 30 songs, and they are truly as vocally as you wanted them to be.
If you are a fan of vocally UK Hardcore songs, stick around (and check out the tracklist). If you are not, are you even human?

Oh my word! This is a must listen to mix if you are into the cheerful and happy UK Hardcore anthems that are filled with beautiful vocals by vocalists such as Jenna, Lisa Abbott, Kelly C, Lisa Marie, and more. They were literally the best vocalists out there, and co-shaped the UK Hardcore future. Which is funnily in the past right now. But during the Millennium years they were everywhere. And I do mean everywhere! And it was so damn good!
The tracklist is phenomenal! And I mean it, from the bottom of my heart. You cannot put a price on this kind of music. For most people in the UK this was already the standard rave music, but for me this was all new (around 2003). And I think I jumped in at the right time. The music was great, and the vocalists were the finest you could ask for. So euphoric, so uplifting, so beautiful!
Sad to think that these songs are already 'old'. This sound we don't hear that often anymore, and some artists have moved away from the scene entirely. Which is a shame. To me they are still legends, especially combos such as Dougal & Gammer, Brisk & Ham, Sy & Unknown, and more. Times have changed, but thankfully we've got the music to fall back onto.
Claxton's mix is a good one. Nostalgia factor = 100%! At certain stages it does feel slightly rushed, and he wants to put as many tracks in the mix, but the majority of the mix feels just right. The music is just epic. It gives me a huge smile on my face. And I'm guessing it makes you smile too, if you have listened to this already. If you haven't, don't worry: just press play, and have smiles for miles. Oh, and it's downloadable too, so another bonus.
Thanks Claxton for this mix. Really amazing. Breaks the week nicely. More of these vocally mixes please, pretty please!
