Let's end the day with a UKHC mix. The name Jack In Box might seem recognisable, and it is a name you might have seen before. I certainly have, and I have been impressed since this producer started making anthems. According to Discogs that was around 2014, and I have seen his name in many mixes. His records have appeared in many, and I'm happy he exists. As the music he makes is awesome. Just the right UKHC sound I am looking for.
Someone called David Watt made this mini mix with all Jack In Box anthems. Now normally I don't listen to mini mixes, as to me they are too short, but I could not let this one slide. I do love Jack In Box's productions. They seem to capture a specific sound I love, admire, and don't hear that often. He has worked with a few artists, but the big artists he has worked with, are Fracus and Darwin. The Hardcore Underground legends.
Nowadays they seem to be pushing their Brutal Kuts label a bit more, and Jack In Box has had a few releases on this label too. But he has worked with these two legends, and his input alongside these legends creates these magnificent anthems I do love. Sometimes you listen to these records, and they immediately take you back to the years when HU dominated everything.
What's in this mix? Well, these anthems:
Fracus & Darwin x Jack In Box - Like An Animal (Intro Mix)
Jack In Box & G Drive - Life Me Up
Jack In Box x Darwin - Where I Belong (Original Mix)
Jack In Box x Time Rhythm - Nicey Right Now
Fracus & Jack In Box - Rhythm Flow (Extended Mix)
Darwin x Jack In Box - Back 2 The Club
Jack In Box x Time Rhythm - DBS (Original Mix)
Jack In Box x DBL - What U Waiting 4
Jack In Box - Love Like You
Jack In Box x G Drive - Feel The Magic
Jack In Box - So Lost
Darwin x Jack In Box - I've Got It
As said, this is a mini mix, so the tracklist was easy to type. The tracks on the other hand, they aren't easy. They are hard! As said, they capture a sound I truly admire. He has found the perfect blend between UKHC and Breakbeat. Or am I just imagining it?
When HU did that HU Breaks album (which is now 11 years ago!!!), that's when my love for it peaked, and I always hoped that this sound would find a new audience. There's a select group of producers that still keep it alive, and three of them I've already mentioned: Jack In Box, Fracus, and Darwin. I do love this a lot. I cannot describe how I feel. Words cannot express my happiness.
There are 12 amazing records in here, but all explodes when 'Rhythm Flow' hits. You know this is a dancefloor smasher. The build up is tremendously good, And it all collides into this eargasm. Trance meets UKHC. I love it. More of this, please.
David Watt has made a wicked mix. And it's a good way to end the working week. Just put this on, and let the weekend happen! And of course, let's not forget, put this on maximum volume!
