Scot Project - Melodia Sessions Guestmix (2019)

It's Wednesday, the week has been halved now. And what a week it has been. Today has been the worst day for me: most of the day I had to sit here without any internet. My provider had issues which they needed to resolve. Thousands of users couldn't go onto the world wide web, so I sat here, waiting until it returned, so I could continue WFH. I couldn't even go onto Soundcloud, my safe place on the web. I was bored. Really and truly bored.

When the internet did return, I had to listen to something on Soundcloud. Scot Project's latest livestream set was one of the sets I really wanted to review, but at the moment it doesn't have a tracklist, so you have to be patient. But what I did find, was an older set by him for Melodia Sessions. I'm guessing that this is an online show? Never heard of this session before, but if they do play music similar to what Scot Project played in this mix, I should look them up.

Scot Project does not need an introduction. He's a legend. A legend with dreadlocks. He always has the capability to make even the hardest Trance sound 'soft'. Since the early 2000s I have been following him, and I haven't found a mix made by him or containing records by him which disappointed me. I don't know what it is, but he's got this ability to make everything sound awesome! So I'm guessing this mix from last year is going to be good, eh?

Here's the tracklist.

  1. Reflekt - Need To Feel Loved (Argy Remix)

  2. Stephen Kirkwood - Rainbow Six

  3. Marco V - Avalon

  4. Ruben De Ronde & Proof - Fade Away With Me (Key 4050 Remix)

  5. Giuseppe Ottaviani - Colours

  6. NG Resonance - Sinners (Alex Wright Dub Mix)

  7. Sied van Riel & Claudia Cazzacu - Contrasts (Dave Leyrock Remix)

  8. Marten De Jong - R3S3T

  9. Marten De Jong & Allen Watts - Caffeine

  10. Evan Pearce - Anubis

  11. NG Resonance - Riff Raff

  12. Jakob Rocksonn - We Don't Care

  13. Mark Sherry & David Forbes - Yerba Del Dial

An hour long mix, and no bullshit. That's what I like to hear. He's crammed 13 records in an hour mix, so expect to be enlightened throughout this mix. A state of euphoria like you've never felt before. And boy, the tracks he has selected are truly astonishingly good! But I wouldn't expect anything else from Scot Project; he seems to have a knack for these kind of records.

I really liked the vibes coming through my speakers. My day did go by quickly. But that's the power of Scot Project. He always delivers, never disappoints. His mixes are always spot on, and with this one he has proven again why he's the legend that he is. A true legend.

It was hard to pick one favourite record out of these 13 smashing records. But I couldn't decide, I had two in the end. So here are my two favourite records of this mix: Marco V's 'Avalon' and Giuseppe Ottaviani's 'Colours'. You will understand why I have picked these: they are belters!

A wicked mix. I hope his latest mix does get a tracklist, so I can share it with you all. But for now, go back in time (<1 year) and enjoy this mix. Fresh as the day it was made!
