Happy Easter everyone. Hope you are having a wonderful time. I always detest holidays, as they are a bit meh. Give me music instead. So much effort being put into food, and it's all gone in a blink of an eye. Such a waste. But thankfully the weather is good, so it might be alright, you know. Birds are singing, kids are playing on the street, and I'm blasting out a fresh mix, uploaded roughly 8 days ago, and if you haven't spotted the title of the mix, or the image above this review, this mix is dedicated to Mauro Picotto. The legendary producer/DJ from Italy.
I am a huge fan of Mauro Picotto since the late 90s, early 2000s. And I do love to find mixes that are dedicated to him, or made by him. His early work is just so damn awesome. And it has stood the test of time. This mix, made by Lewis Mann, contains 32 awesome records. Not only are they made by the legend, he has also contributed on some records. The criteria for this mix was to find at least his name on the credits. So you might look at the tracklist and think 'hey, that's not Mauro's song', but he might have been involved, one way or another.
And let's not forget that he's had a few aliases, like M-Peak-8, Megamind, MP8, R.A.F. By Picotto, The Lizard Man, etc. And he's been part of groups, and for once I'm not going to type the whole list. Just check out his Discogs page. It's just too damn long.
It's a nearly 3 hour long mix, and it contains the biggest Techno/Trance anthems from the early days. You will certainly appreciate it. I know I am loving this mix. Much prefer this to anything else on the radio now! Give me Mauro any day of the year.

This is an awesome mix. I really loved the vibes from the start to the finish. It's a cool selection of tracks. Certainly not all of Mauro's records, otherwise the mix would be 12+ hours long. He's made so many records over the years, it's unbelievable.
But those tracks that Lewis has selected, are great. They are. And I can remember like it was yesterday, hearing those songs on the radio, or in the clubs, or at the big events I went to. It was so refreshing to hear something so unique, so different, so awesome. Leave that to Mauro to come up with dancefloor smashers that will stand the test of time. Fit them in any set, and it just works.
He's a very talented DJ and producer, and his back catalogue is quite impressive. One of the true pioneers that reshaped the scene. And a lot of his songs are in this nearly 3 hour long mix. It's worth a listen, and if that's not enough for you, you can also download this bad boy for free.
I really liked the mix. It's a bit diverse too, containing a few songs you wouldn't expect. The one track that made me the happiest, has got to be 'Pandoro'. Haven't heard that one in years, and it's still a solid, be it slightly underrated track.
