Am I the only one who doesn't know who Lil Texas is? I've been seeing his name everywhere over the last couple of weeks, and I'm still unsure who he is. But what I have noticed is that his tracks on Soundcloud get ridicilous amounts of plays. Even this mix I'm about to talk about. 41.5k+ plays within 3 months. And I'm not even sure I understand the concept of this mix, or what the meaning is behind Texcore. Maybe his fans can explain to me what it means?
At first I thought he was Dutch, or Flemish, seeing as he had a few Dutch records in here (with Dutch vocals), but he's not. I reckon (if my judgment is correct) he's from Texas, and he likes his music to be rough, raw, and extremely hard. 200 BPM is nothing for him. But even the build up in this mix is rather unusual. I'm not sure on how to categorise this type of mixes. Weird to say the least. Maybe that's the way to describe this mix.

See, I told you this mix is odd. I wouldn't have expected someone from Texas pushing Hardcore music forward. And I don't mean that patronising. It's only a compliment to the scene: Hardcore is indeed all over the world. It does dominate the world.
The mix is weird, and I do like it. Not each and every record, but at least LIL TEXAS keeps us on our feet. There's no stopping us. I just don't understand the concept. It's as weird as GPF. I like it, but can't explain it.
Best record? 'Rip It Open' by Deadly Guns & Ncrypta.
Well, I might have a smooch around, to see who this LIL TEXAS is. And I'll give him a follow. If this is how he mixes in general (and not just during the winter period), I'm intrigued. More of this would be appreciated.
