Cotumo - Oldschool 2000s minimal & neo trance set for Sisyphos Generations (2026)

It is nearly Friday, and you know what that means? Party time! It is yet another full-on weekend with lots of activities, but as close as it is, we still have Friday ahead of us, and we all need something to get us through tomorrow. I might have found something very interesting, something I found by accident, and I can't remember if someone shared it or reposted it. I saw it, jumped on it, and now I'm hooked. And the mix in question contains music that fits my mood extremely well.

The mix in question was made by Cotumo. A name I've not seen before. And also the genre 'Neo Trance'. Boy, have I got a lot to learn, eh? But today it is not about learning, but about appreciating. And Cotumo's mix is a great one. There's a bit of history behind this mix, and if you are interested, you can read a short description underneath this mix on Soundcloud. If you aren't bothered, which is also a possibility, you might skip it and dive straight into this mix.

I love it, finding mixes which might be a tad different. You can also use the term 'quirky', and I think it fits in well. This is a very minimal Techno mix, mixed in with some Berlin Techno, and as mentioned before, Neo Trance. Now, that term I've not heard before, but I've certainly heard the songs before. Never too old to learn, and appreciate.

This mix is so extremely mellow, the three hours do fly by before you can say 'minimalism'. Cotumo has kept me on my toes, and sitting here, WFH, relaxed and enjoying the tunes. Hopefully he'll do the same to you!

At first glance, I was baffled by the tracklist. This is a very long one, and at first I thought I knew none of these artists. But then I opened my eyes, and noticed more and more artists who I do know. Does that really matter? Not really. It is all about the music.

Cotumo's selection is excellent. In this mix there are three records I truly love, and appreciate. I can ask you to guess, but that's going to take forever. ''Outhouse''' is a blinding record, so is 'Love It Again'', and let's not forget an all time classic ''Marionette''. I am fully aware there are 38 fantastic records in this mix, but those three (for no apparant reason) stood out to me the most.

I've never heard of Cotumo before, but his mix is truly amazing, and the songs fantastic. The three hours fly by, and I still haven't managed to say the word 'minimalistic'.

Everything screams ''listen to me'', and I think you should honour this mix by giving it a go. Unless this is too soft for you. In that case, I've got plenty of other reviews for you to enjoy, but if you like minimal Techno and neo Trance, this mix is certainly worth your precious time!
