DJ Skizz! Now that's a throwback! I don't think I've reviewed a mix made by him for quite some time now. The last one I could find was back in 2012, which is a very long time ago. He has had a few mixes released on his Soundcloud channel, but I think they have gone by me. I don't know what happened, but I profusely apologise that it's taken 12 years to review a new mix. But his latest mix is here, which is called 'Shropcore Volume One', and it's got some brand new UK Hardcore anthems, including a few of his own productions.
Not sure what the name represents. Shropcore? Is that a new name for UK Hardcore made by people in Shropshire? You tell me. But whatever the name represents, it's all about the music. And this mix contains a lot of new material from Skizz and others too. The majority of records I've never heard before, so I dive into this mix not knowing anything at all. And that's a pleasant experience. Let's hear this Shropcore mix, right?
It's as good as you want it to be. If you are open minded and let the new UK Hardcore sound in, you might appreciate this mix. And if you want to learn more about Skizz and what he's got to offer, why not give this mix a go. The artists names are all well known, so you won't be disappointed in the selection. But it's down to you, if you like it or not? It does represent the new and the old sound in one. A bit of the old and new, who doesn't want to hear that?

I really like the direction it takes us. It's got some banging UKHC anthems, And I always love discovering new music, and this mix is filled with new music.
Skizz has done a very pleasant job in making an hour long mix with 20 records, including a few of his own. And it's cool to see him working alongside Fracus, who's obviously a very big name in the scene. But Skizz not only played his own records, but also a few by other names, such as Nuton, Technikore, Darwin, Klubfiller, and more.
This mix takes me back in time. It's got some banging tunes, and these records resonate the 'early' UKHC sound I am missing. A throwback to the golden years. And it seems that Skizz goes down that route: his records have got that early HU sound.
It goes all insane when 'Shining In The Dark' starts. What a big anthem. Proper UKHC vibes, and the vocals... I do love the vocals. A great track, and the best one in this mix.
Hopefully it won't be another 12 years until I find another Skizz mix. But even if it does take 12 years, hopefully the reintroduction is as great as this mix. I thoroughly enjoyed it!
