There we go. Tuesday has come, and nearly gone. And what am I doing? Absolutely nothing. Got a few days off, so instead of working, I'm working in our new house. Which takes a lot of time and effort, and the weather isn't currently very helpful, so everything is to be done indoors, and if we were to go outside, do it quickly, or you'll be soaked. But I'd much rather stay indoors, as that's where my sound system is, and that's where the bass and beats and melodies resonate through the walls and ceiling. And today's mix is definitely one that will blow my speakers, and the walls, ceiling, and blow my neighbours brains into pieces.
So, what have I found today? A Hardcore Breaks/Rave Breaks mix by Craig Scott. A sound you don't hear very often, but should deserve more credits for what it can do, and what it does. After discovering this mix, I got very excited. It quickly became apparent that this was going to be a very good and solid mix, with very descent records on it. I was going to say by well known names, but besides 'The Prodigy' I know literally not one of the artists... and that's a shame.
But at least I'm excited to hear the music. After only a handful of seconds, I became very hyped and extremely excited to hear more. And whilst I'm typing this review, this mix is about to come to an end, and I'm starting at the front again. Why, you might ask? Well, it's because I want to hear it again, and hear more of this. The intro is insane, and Craig Scott's selection is truly insane. It's dope enough, that's for sure! It sets the tone for what is to come. And what comes at you through your speakers is certainly something you want and need to hear.
A solid mix. A really ace mix. And I'm glad that I got the chance to listen to this right now, as it captures the right mood I'm in, I need something hard, rough, and yet elegant at the same time. I could go for your standard Hardcore stuff, but today it's all about the breaks. The Rave breaks.
Craig's mix is tight, and his selection is dope. It starts off with a sick tune by Z-Neo, and the rest of the mix is literally full of tracks that will be considered future anthems. Classics in the making. I've got absolutely nothing negative to mention about this mix, nothing negative whatsoever.
A solid mix full with excellent tunes. Something you are going to appreciate, if you find an hour spare today to listen to this. Trust me, you will not be disappointed!
