  • Kings Of The Amen Jungle Mix One - 30-04-22

It is Monday, and it is going to be a long week. I don't know what it is, but certain weeks you just know, will be a drag. And even though it's Monday, I just know it will be a long week. But don't you worry, TCD have got your back. I went to my trusted Soundcloud, had a look around, and landed back onto Craig Scott's page. I could have picked any of his mixes, as they are all superb, but I decided to go for this 'Kings Of The Amen' mix. We all love a bit of the Amen break, right? Who doesn't? I certainly do love the famous Amen break, and it is the most used sound bit in our history. Many artists have used the sample, but in Jungle and Hardcore music it has obviously been used quite a lot. And Craig Scott has picked 25 records which do contain this famous sample, and crammed them into a splendid mix. But I am not surprised, as he always delivers, and every mix I've encountered so far, has been amazing. This mix has been on repeat for hours, and my neighbours must think I've gone mad. I couldn't care less: the Amen break is to be shared with all. Everyone should enjoy it. And hopefully you will now go to the bottom of this review, see the Soundcloud player, and press play. And while you are listening to it, just have a quick look at this tracklist, as it's a great one. But the main focus here is the music, and Craig Scott is making us feel the Amen break, yet again! 1 - Jason Ball - Horns For 94 2 - Sully & Tim Reaper - Mindswept 3 - Kid Lib - Original Roughneck (Tim Reaper VIP) 4 - Mister Shifter - Dreada Than Dreada 5 - Morphy & Skitty - Put Down Ya Gunz (Spirits Riot Mix) 6 - Bizzy B - Listen Tune 7 - DJ Hybrid - Rumble In The Jungle 8 - Veak - Sweet Madness 9 - Dwarde & Tim Reaper - Globex Corp Volume 8 (A1) 10 - Lavery - 94 War 11 - Kid Lib - Living In The Zone 12 - Sam Binga - Wasted Days (Sully Mix) 13 - Dubtronix - Fantasy (Remix) 14 - Johnny Jungle - Johnny (Dubplate Mix) 15 - Sonar’s Ghost - Souldrop (FFF Mix) 16 - Breakage - Kill Dem (Boizo VIP) 17 - Damian Marley - Welcome To Jamrock (Veak Mix) 18 - Homemade Weapons - Sweet Nothing 19 - Asylum - Da Base II Dark 20 - Special Request - Vortex 164 (Sully Mix) 21 - Bizzy B - Totally Destroy 22 - Dark Man - Dis Sound Ruff 23 - My Selecta - Get Up 24 - Special Request - Spectral Frequency (Boizo VIP) 25 - Veak - Roll & Come In This is a tracklist and a half. And as much as I love a bit of Hardcore and Jungle, and some Oldskool too, there are a lot of unknown names in this list. But, as previously stated, it's not about who made it, but the impact the song has. And these songs all had a wonderful impact on me. How this one sample became the most used one in dance music. It's insane to think that. But where would we be without it? It is so recognisable, so distinctive, it's the break of all breaks. The hour has flown by, and my whole afternoon has been a pleasant one, hearing those familiar breaks over and over. This mix never got boring, nor would I have expected it from Craig Scott. Always delivers, never disappoints. And these 25 records are all amazing records. Couldn't tell you more, as my knowledge is limited, but when it comes to the music, they do hit the spot. Best record? ''Fantasy''. That one stood out for me the most. Which one stands out to you? Which one do you like/love? It has made me love the week ahead of me. Bring on Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday and Friday. Fuck it, I'm loving it. And to keep me occupied, I am to listen to more mixes by Craig. • DJ CHOSEN FEW Tribute Mega-mix by DJ BUZZ FUZZ (2026)

Last year has been a tremendously bad year for Hardcore music. In roughly 2 months we lost two Hardcore legends, two amazing pioneers. First we lost Chosen Few, and then Bass-D. I remember where I was, when I heard the news. I read it (when Francois Prijt a.k.a. Chosen Few) on Facebook, when fellow Hardcore DJs and producers started to change their profile pictures to complete black images. I felt lost on both occasions, as obviously both DJs and producers meant a lot to me, when I grew up in the 90s. And loosing someone gives you a shit feeling, regardless who it is. For the Hardcore scene, it's an obvious loss. But it is harder for the family and friends of Francois. He has left a legacy behind that no one can take away from him, and he has been honoured on multiple occasions already, which he truly deserved. A pioneers since 1993, and the maker of one of the most well known and loved anthem ''Name Of The DJ'', he has given us so many great records over the years. He kept on pushing is own music but also music by others forward, over the years, and has been a huge artist for the label Mokum Records. To honour him, another legendary DJ who goes by the name Buzz Fuzz, made this tribute mix. And as shit as it is, to see a tribute mix for a pioneer who has gone to the afterlife, at least it does bring a smile on my face, knowing that Chosen Few's music will last forever and ever, and we will rave until we can't anymore. And deep down inside, being a reformed individual who is more of a realist (I've been baptised), I do hope there is a Heaven, and if there is, I know those we lost over the years, are throwing a massive rave. A rave that will last a thousand years. And we will have Bass-D, Chosen Few, 3 Steps Ahead, and many more warming up the decks! Let's see what Buzz Fuzz selected for his mix. In Memoriam Chosen Few - Doomzday (Original Mix) Chosen Few - Da Bellz Chosen Few - Freedom Chosen Few - To Dominate Chosen Few - I Move Heaven And Hell Chosen Few - Hustlers & Hardcore Chosen Few - Fucking Psycho (Original Gabber Mix) Chosen Few - Hardcore Religion Chosen Few - Tranceparant Chosen Few - Kicking Time Chosen Few vs DJ Pila - The Breaks Chosen Few - Dog 4 Life Chosen Few - Bring It On Chosen Few - Danica Chosen Few - Haterz Chosen Few vs S'Aphira - Da Funky Beatz Chosen Few - 0 Chosen Chosen Few - Mokum Worldwide Chosen Few - Hardcore Drama Chosen Few - After Hourz (Technohead Remix) Chosen Few - All You Motherfuckers Chosen Few - Name Of The DJ (DJ Buzz Fuzz Remix) Chosen Few - Number One Chosen Few - Say It Loud Chosen Few - In Da Air Chosen Few - Chosen Paradise Chosen Few - Own Gods Chosen Few - Kold Dayz It is amazing to hear all these songs together in one mix, but it is also amazing to hear what Chosen Few brough to the table, for the three decades he was in our precious Hardcore scene. His music, his legacy, and his personality will be sorely missed. Buzz Fuzz's mix is good. Chosen Few would have loved this mix. 71 minutes of nothing but Chosen Few. How cool is that? Even with this mix does it surprise me the amount of wicked anthems he released over the years. And how much of an impact he had on many, but certainly my life. I don't think you could go to a rave in the 90s and early 00s and NOT hear a Chosen Few record. They were rough, tough, and the kicks were so uniquely Chosen Few, but he still kept on innovating himself, and the style followed with him. He kept his own style, but progressed over the years. He kept it all Hardcore. And his style I really appreciated. I can't tell you when I first heard a Chosen Few record, but it must have been ''Tranceparant''. That record sticks out to me, well before he made the biggest Hardcore anthem ever. But it's ''Doomzday'' which is his biggest record, in my honest opinion. And I know this sounds a bit cringe, but he was a follower of my little website, on Facebook. I feel humbled by the knowledge that this legendary pioneer did follow the site. I did do a few reviews over the 10-15 years, and whenever it included his music or Mokum, he did share/read it. Buzz Fuzz has done an amazing job. Go and check the video out on YouTube. The only thing I have as a comment: the video is so mesmerizing. I couldn't take my eyes of it. My eyes are now extremely dry and blood shot. Chosen Few, a legend. To answer the question which you've raised many years ago: ''I want you all to tell me the name of my DJ''. And that name is Chosen Few. Keep those decks spinning in Heaven, and we will keep your name alive for as long as we are alive! • Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo - Oldschool Hardcore Megamix (2026)

Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo. Who doesn't recognise these two (Happy) Hardcore legends from the 90s? Like every kid/teenager in the 90s, growing up in the Netherlands, you grew up with songs from these legendary producers. And they've been a stable force within our scene since the early days. And I can't remember what my first introduction was, but it must have been when they started releasing House Party 10 (alongside the Dark Raver). What followed, was me following their music for more than 3 decades! I was such an avid fan, I bought three copies of their 'Speedcity' CD, as they would be worn due to the amount of plays. And of course, I did buy every top 40 single they ever released. They dominated my youth, even with the harder Gabber sound, but it was the happier sound which made them stand out by a mile. They were everywhere, and I was glad that they were there. Their songs were cool, exciting, and happy. It only turned when they started to make cheesy Happy Hardcore ('Just Can't Get Enough', 'Girls'), which we could have spotted back in 1995 ('This Christmas'). But overall, I am still a huge fan. And to see a megamix on Soundcloud, that just makes me happier. Guessing it is based on their album ''Oldschool Hardcore'', but I'm not sure if it is an official megamix or a fan made mix. Guessing it's the latter, and you will know why that is. From 1994 to 1996 they dominated my life. And now, many years later, I still feel young whenever I heard a song by Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo. The duo I grew up with, and admired (I did do the same with 2Unlimited, but they thoroughly disappointed me). Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo - Get Free Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo - Your Smile (Hardcore Mix) Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo - Once Again Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo - DJ Fuck (Bass-D & King Matthew Remix) Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo - Speedcity (M-Jay & Dan Vee Remix) Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo - Live At London (Hardcore Mix) Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo - Rebel (Live At The Metropolis Remix) Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo - Together In Wonderland (Hardcore Mix) Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo - Wonderfull Days (Hard Mix) Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo - Motherfuck Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo - Angels In Your Head Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo - The Ultimate Sex Track (Bass-D & King Matthew Remix) Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo - Skills (Straight Mix) Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo - Verrotted (Stunned Guys Remix) Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo - Gabberfood (Step On Stage Mix) Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo - Descontrolla Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo - Hardcore Dance (Sydney Remix) Obsessive - Tune In Turn Out (Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo Remix) Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo - The Bird The tracklist is interesting, that's for sure. It combines both the well known anthems and the slightly forgotten ones too. It is always nice to hear a Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo song, or even a mix . It brightens up my day. And it makes me feel young again. But not this mix. This wasn't a mix for me, unfortunately. Sorry to be maybe a tad harsh, but this wasn't the mix I was hoping to discover. The mixing of all these tracks is off, by a huge margin. I could normally tolerate some mistakes, but this isn't pleasant to hear. It doesn't flow well. The tracks might be good, but the mixing of these records isn't great. I am kind of disappointed: I was hoping for this mix to rock my world, on this dreary Monday. It certainly didn't. Let's talk about the positives: the tracks. Thankfully they are good. And I think I have mentioned this track before in another review, but 'Get Free' is stil an underrated Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo song. Love it to pieces! This could have been nice, but not to me. I've got to give it some credit, but it won't be a high score today, unfortunately. Which is a pity, that's for sure. • Lunatic - Bass-D Tribute Mix (2026)

2025 has been a horrendous year for many people. And our precious Hardcore scene suffered by the loss of two Hardcore legends, two pioneers who co-created the Hardcore scene: Chosen Few in October, and Bass-D in December. And both times was I shocked to read the news on social media. How, and why? It's certainly a loss for not only the scene, but for their friends and family, who will all mourn the loss of these legendary human beings, who were also excellent producers and DJs, and pioneers of the Hardcore scene. I will review a mix dedicated by Chosen Few soon (a mix by Buzz Fuzz), but for now, let's focus on a tribute mix by Lunatic, for the mighty Bass-D. Bass-D started his DJ career many moons ago. In 1992, he became a Dutch DJ Champion, and his life would never be the same again. He met King Matthew around that time, and together they went on this journey through the wonderful world we call Hardcore. And they were a force to reckon with. The truly dominated the scene, and have remained highly appreciated throughout the 90s, and well after. I've seen and heard many sets over the years, but I'm not sure if I have actually witnessed Bass-D perform live (in front of me). But in a way that wasn't needed, as his sets always appeared everywhere, including on the legendary album Thunderdome '96 and '97. And his songs, be it on his own or part of the duo Bass-D & King Matthew, they appeared everywhere. They were so influential in the 90s, it is insane to think that we owe him so much, and he co-created and shaped the Hardcore scene, just the way I like it. I drove my parents mad in the 90s and early 00s when I lived at home. I always had Bass-D songs playing out loud. In later years he started to do more mashup songs with Potato, which were a bit hit and miss for me, but still enjoyable to a degree. But he still remained a Hardcore legend, a pioneer, and we all knew it. Intro Bass-D (incl. Mouth Of Madness) Distortion feat MC Raw vs Bass-D & King Matthew - Raveworld Bass-D & King Matthew - Fly Away Isaac & The Viper - Freak That Shit (Bass-D & King Matthew Remix) Bass-D & King Matthew - Masterplan Bass-D & King Matthew - True Legends JDA - Voel Je Die Bass (Bass-D & King Matthew Remix) Bass-D & King Matthew - Nuclear Hardcore Bass-D & King Matthew feat XD - Like A Dream Bass-D & King Matthew - In The Mix Potato & Bass-D - Huzarensalade Re-Style & Bass-D - Keep Freakin Buzz Fuzz & Bass-D - It's Alright (Nytro Remix Bass-D Hardcore Edit) Re-Style & Bass-D - Out Of Darkness The Viper - Control The Refix Highlander - Hold Me Now (Bass-D's 2018 Remake) Forze DJ Team - '98 To Your Mind (The Viper & Neophyte Mashup) The Masochist vs Bass-D - Get Retarded (Bass-D 2011 Refix) Re-Style - Wasteland + Get Crackin (Mashup) Ricardo Moreno & Potato - Back To The Roots Potato & Bass-D - Appelmoes Potato & Bass-D - Compote 4 Tune Fairytales - My Little Fantasy (Bass-D & King Matthew Remix) This is a very glorious looking tracklist, and it's a good reminder of how important Bass-D was for all of us, and how his music shaped the scene into this wonderful thing it is today. But one thing we have to agree: Bass-D dominated during the 90s. He certainly did. Bass-D had an extensive back catalogue, and you can find a few of his records here. Not sure about the few in here which do not carry Bass-D's name, but they are nice fillers in this 66 minute long mix. And to many he was a legendary producer and DJ who made his furore in the 90s, but let's not forget the millennium years, during which Masters of Hardcore reigned supreme. During those years, I truly liked the Bass-D songs. They were more sophisticated, more elegant, more what I wanted Hardcore to be. For so many decades did Bass-D inspire ravers, and got millions of people dancing to his tunes, and millions have heard his sets throughout the years on certain platforms such as YouTube, Soundcloud, and more. And his contribution to our scene will certainly be missed. Thousands of ravers will truly miss his enthusiasm for Hardcore, and his skills behind the decks. But that obviously fades into obscurity when you talk about the loss for his close friends and family. Devastating times, that's for sure. Bass-D is truly missed, and the scene has lost yet another pioneer. Lunatic's mix is a great one, honouring the late and great Bass-D. Rave in peace, and rave forever. Keeps those decks spinning in Heaven, Bass-D. Best record? Hands down, Happy Hardcore's finest track ever: 'My Little Fantasy'. • Trance Classics Reworked 004 (NYE Special) (2026)

Monday has come, and is nearly gone. And I'm glad. It's been a long and arduous day. Nothing unpleasant has happened, but after a very cheerful and happy weekend, you might loose a bit of energy. And today is the day I've lost my oomph. But not to worry, as I had something keeping me company throughout the day. It's a very pleasant, mellow, and very smooth mix by Andresen. A 2 hour long mix, with some of the finest Trance songs out there. But hang on, not the originals, but reworked versions of them. How cool is that? In September I reviewed the second mix in this instalment, and I was very pleased. Not just pleased with the review, I am always pleased with whatever I write, but with the mix. And this new mix, is certainly one I thoroughly enjoy. The same concept, but different songs. And a 2 hour long mix. 20 tracks. I couldn't wish for anything more, right? I am genuinely baffled, how did he find these records? They seem to have come out of nowhere, as I've not heard them before. The originals I've certainly heard before, but never these reworked versions. And I have to give credit to those who did those reworked versions, as some in this mix are better than the original. And that's a statement you wouldn't hear from me that often. You will love this mix, trust me! Solid Sessions - Janeiro (Stan Kolev Remix) Jakatta - American Dream (PROFF Interpretation) Solarstone & Jes - Like A Waterfall (Forerunners Extended Remix) Max Graham - Airtight (Henrik Zuberstein Remix) Lustral - Everytime (Sultan + Shepard Extended Remix) Andy Ling - Fixation (Dylhen Remix) Luminary - Amsterdam (Grum Extended Remix) Three Drives On A Vinyl - Sunset On Ibiza (BLR Extended Remix) Format - Solid Session (Joris Voorn Remix) BT - Remember (Space Motion Extended Remix) Jam & Spoon - Follow Me (Jerome Isma-Ae Extended Remix) Pink Bomb - Indica (Orkidea & Solarstone Pure Progressive Extended Remix) L.S.G. - Netherworld (Rise And Fall Remix) Airwave - Save Me (Jamie Baggots Remix) The Thrillseekers - Amber (Hydra's Altered State Extended Remix) The Space Brothers - Shine (Paul Thomas & White-Akre Extended Remix) Tiesto - The Tube (Matan Caspi Remix) Golden Girls - Kinetic (Genix Extended Remix) Da Hool, Cassian & YOTTO - Love Parade M.I.K.E. - Strange World (AVIRA Remix) A majestic mix. I know each and every song, but not these versions. How exciting, right? To find some hidden gems, lurking in the darkness, finally seeing the daylight. Andresen's mix is very tight, and very exciting to hear. And so smooth: the 2 hours do fly by before you know it. I did love every second of this mix. Andresen has kept the entertainment level high, and has given us a splendid mix. The tracks are all solid. Blinding tracks, to be fair. This is a mix series I can stand behind, and I do love the concept. As good as the originals might be, to hear a slightly different version of each, and these versions were done right, that's just gorgeous. ''Airtight'' is probably the best song in this mix. Closely followed by an all time classic ''American Dream''. You cannot go wrong with either of these records. Only love and appreciation. And rightly fully so. I'm currently holding the top spot on this mix when it comes to listens, and this will remain the same for a while. On repeat, for days on end. More of these please!? • DJ Heinrich - (Mostly) Gammer Slammers To The Bone - January 2026 Mix

The weekend has landed, and what a way to start the weekend. A proper UK Hardcore mix, with mostly Gammer songs. You couldn't wish for anything else, to be fair. Unless you live in the North of the UK, or the rest of Europe, where snow and ice is taken over normal life. I hope you are safe indoors, and to keep the temperatures enjoyable, why not crank up the volume to the max, and create a little rave in your house/flat/appartement, or wherever it is you are currently staying. I do love me a bit of Gammer. Especially the early Gammer, when he emerged onto the scene, and became this powerful source of excellent music. And his mixing was through the roof too! I still remember those videos on Facebook and YouTube, in which he mixed 100 tracks in 10 seconds (or something similar to this). Gammer became this stable force, and his music has touched many people. And it was always pleasant to hear them not only in mixes, but also at raves. Last time I actually witnessed Gammer, was 15 years ago, at Uproar Summer Sounds. And that's a long time ago. A lot of things have changed, and so has Gammer. His music has changed, and the mix you are about to listen to, is focussed on the 'early' stuff he made. Be it on his own, or with friends. The mix was made by DJ Heinrich, and it contains some very big UK Hardcore anthems from a long gone era. Pulsonix - Lift Me Up (Geos & Gammer Remix) UK Hardcore feat Niki Mak - Need Your Emotion (Dougal & Gammer Remix) Dougal & Gammer - Rock This Dougal & Gammer feat Lisa Marie - All The Tears I've Cried United In Dance feat Lisa Marie - Still The One Audiolush - Feel The Power (Dougal & Gammer Remix) Dougal & Gammer feat Jenna - Paradise Hixxy - Sacrifice Gammer - Let It Go Dougal & Gammer - Lifting Me Higher Gammer feat Cat Knight - A New Feeling (Let It Shine) (Original Mix) Gammer & Whizzkid - We Are The Vampires Frisky & Hujib - Get Away (Gammer Mix) Mickey Skeedale feat Jenna - Through The Darkness (Dougal & Gammer Remix) Dougal & Innovate feat Jenna - Fires In The Sky Dougal & Gammer feat Jenna - Heaven On Earth What a wonderful mix. DJ Heinrich selected a few records, and they are all epic UK Hardcore anthems. And how do I know they are anthems? Because they ALL make me extremely happy. And they still get everyone on the dancefloor. And that, ladies and gentlemen, is what makes a song an anthem. Gammer worked a lot during the golden years with Dougal, and together they were the most powerful duo we had ever seen. Their music was just next level, and they've made and/or remixed some of the best records ever. The best one is obviously in this mix: 'Through The Darkness'. That is just an epic song, and a true raver knows the song from the first to the last second. Heinrich has made a very interesting mix, and even though the mix has made me extremely happy, it has also made me very sad. This always happens when I see a mix dedicated to the golden years of UKHC. It reminds me that those days are behind us, and they don't make music like they did back in the day anymore. Things have changed. A solid mix. Never heard or seen the name Heinrich, but he's got a new follower on Soundcloud! • 008 - Christmas '25

The weekend is about to land upon us, and I'm excited for it. Not that I've got something special planned, it means that I get to do absolutely bugger all. Chill, a bit of PS5 time, and some awesome music playing in the background. And have I got something special for you to listen to! A mix by Jay Ryder, celebrating not only the Christmas and New Year gone by, but also Jungle and Drum & Bass. And I love myself a bit of both, Jungle and Drum & Bass. This mix landed on my timeline a few days ago, and I jumped straight on it. I don't know why but I just had to listen to it. I've never heard or seen the name Jay Ryder before, but all that is irrelevant: it's all about the music. And a few days ago, on the M1, I decided to give this mix a go. I went in blind, did not check the tracklist, but I am pleased that I did. I am sitting here with a massive smile on my face, listening to this mix for coming up 8 hours straight. Those journeys on the M1 and M25 have been extremely pleasant. And even though I haven't got the highest spec Toyota Yaris, the speakers did tremble. Only at maximum volume though, but how can you listen to a mix like this one with the volume low? Are you mad? Jungle and Drum & Bass, they need to be played at max volume, without a shadow of a doubt. So, if you were on the M1 and M25 on Tuesday and Wednesday, you might have heard me. And if you did, I could not care less. I was enjoying myself, in my little Yaris bubble of happiness! Sonar's Ghost - Mindrumming Dub One feat Blatant - Inner Sense Dub One feat Blatant - Hesitation Atlas & K Super - Dex's Funk Digital & Outrage - Dillengence Polarity - Redeemer Dub One - Da Artical Bushman Loxy & Resound - Dunn's River Falls Dub One feat Blatant - Overdose Dub One feat Blatant - Future Of The World DaRuff - Abyss (Dub) Mshcode - Silver Dub Sonar's Ghost & Acid Lab - Is Jazz Is Double O - Thankful I do love myself a bit of Jungle and Drum & Bass, but last year I've neglected it a bit. Which in itself is a shame. But 2026 will be a different year. More Jungle, more Drum & Bass. And we are starting off strong, with a very good mix. Jay Ryder has selected 14 big tracks, and I thoroughly enjoyed each and every one of them. They've been a pleasant companion on both the M1 and M25. And they've made me extremely chilled. Not as chilled as the outside temperatures, but close enough. The mix itself is dope, and the tracks too. One thing I did notice: I do not recognise any of the names in the mix. Time for me to re-educate myself, and dive back into it. Jay seems to upload a new mix every so often, so I've got new music coming soon. And besides: Soundcloud is filled with excellent music, so I'm not worried. Best song in this mix? Without hesitation: 'Artical Bushman' by Dub One. Big boy anthem! Never heard it before, but it has been on my mind ever since. Big track. A solid mix. Worth your time. It might only be 57 minutes long, but it packs a punch. A hefty punch! • Syntax Error - 00's UK Hardcore Favourites Pt. 2 (2025)

Happy New Year. Is it still OK to wish you all a happy 2026? Who knows. You could be reading this review on the day of its release (02.01.2026) or later in the year. If you are reading this later in the year, apologies, this intro wasn't meant for you to be read today. But what can you consider to be for you, whenever you read this review? The mix you are about to press play on, made by Jezz Toon a.k.a. Syntax Error. If you love UK Hardcore, you will be extremely excited to hear this! I am currently working from home, and as I'm the only one (all my colleagues are off), I can do what I like. Even my wife is on annual leave, so I can literally just crank up the volume, and have a party in my office. And that's exactly what happened. Not really cranked up the volume, as I am still considering my wife asleep in the other room. But now she's awake, so the volume goes up, and let's 'ave it! What a way to start the year. First mix of the year, a mix dedicated to UK Hardcore. Does that mean 2026 will be a good year? I do hope so. Syntax Error's mix does contain the big hits from back in the day, and a few lesser known or forgotten tracks. The tracklist might put a smile on your face, but I'm doubtful it will be as big of a grin as the one you can see in the image above! Leda vs Denja - Dance Island (Weaver Remix) Uplift & Cat Knight - Deep Inside Allysha - Late (Sparky & Syntronik Remix) Antix & Tommy feat Renee - Can You Feel It Beatplayers feat Lara McAllen - Piece Of Heaven (Re-Con Remix) Breeze & Re-Con - Love You For A Life Time Chris Unknown & Hixxy - Slow And Steady Rush Cynix feat Kelly C - Hold On Tight Darren Hotchkiss & Mark Sloan - Doing It Over Darren Styles vs Hypasonic - Baby I'll Let You Know DJ Rhythmics - Follow Me Dougal & Gammer feat Lisa Marie - Right Here By My Side Gammer & Francis Hill - It Will Be Alright Hixxy feat Taya - Take Me To Heaven Hypasonic feat Jord Schmidt - Doesn't Matter (Dougal & Gammer Remix) Insight feat Emily Reed - Heaven Help Me Now It is a good looking tracklist. And Syntax Error indeed put a lot of tracks in here I've not heard before, especially the first few tracks. But then the party really starts, and it's hit after hit. It's a good glimpse into our UK Hardcore history, and how great the music used to be. I do miss it a lot. I might sound like an old man now, but they don't make them like they used to. And that's the truth. These 16 songs have got this distinctive sound they don't use anymore. And it makes me wonder why? The music was good enough, and the sound should have been kept alive, forever and ever! Syntax Error's mix is a very pleasant one, and I've been listening to this one throughout my day. It has made the first working day (for me) of 2026 a more pleasant one. There are a few mixing errors, which is a bit of a pity, as the tracks are all solid. Especially 'Doesn't Matter', that's certainly a timeless masterpiece. Go and jump on this right now! And again, happy New Year. Unless it is later in the year. If you are reading this too late, you might be too late to celebrate the beginning of 2026, but never too late to appreciate UK Hardcore! • Yearmix 2025 - Make RAW not WAR #6

The end of the year is in sight. Less than 14 hours from time of writing this review, do we enter the new year. And what time to be alive and kicking. It's been an interesting year, and we've had our ups and downs. And not just on a personal level: the whole world is going through a lot. Global warming, crisis here and there, food shortages, and wars still ongoing. For what reason? Why are we still fighting? For a bit of land? For pride? For what purpose are we slaughtering people? I just don't understand why war is necessary, during this time. We need to go into a future without any way, maybe only in a digital world, but not the real world. Wars are truly unnecessary. We don't need it. And it's so blasé. Not to sound like a hippy from the 1960s or 1970s, but we should make love, not war. Peace, not war. But according to the DJ who made this mix, jOahz, you only need RAW, not war. And I would agree. Not only would RAW help us all, it would unite us all. Unless RAW isn't your thing, then you choose whichever genre or style you prefer, and that will unite you with other humans. But we certainly don't need a war anymore. It has been a great year for music, and especially Rawstyle music. I've not really invested too much time this year, as I was focussed on other styles. But the good thing about the end of the year is the amount of yearmixes you will hear and see, and you can get a quick glimpse of all the goodies released during the year, or invest some time in what you have actually missed. And I've missed so much. Thank God for his yearmix, right? Cold Confusion - Touch My Body Cold Confusion - Own The Game Nightcraft - Part Of Me Level One & Nightcraft - Afterlight Polish Punisher - Your Mind Hard Driver & Unresolved - Keep It Movin Revolve & Cold Confusion - Rock 'n Roll Unresolved & Polish Punisher - Funky Beats D-Sturb & Polish Punisher - Rocking With Polish Punisher & Nightcraft - Hold On Level One & Digital Punk - Power Of The OG Adaro & Level One - The Curse Of The 909 Radical Redemption & Nightcraft - The Black Symphony Digital Punk & Ncrypta & Tha Watcher - The Fallout (Spectre Remix) Act Of Rage - Like Thunder Crypsis & Nightcraft - I Don't Miss Rejecta - Darkness Rejecta - Patient Zero Brutalizer - Eastside Inflame - Saved From Hell Polish Punisher & Deluzion - Bassline Overload Deluzion - Bring It Raw Deluzion - Break Ya Face Polish Punisher & MC Nolz - Sharpen The Blade Uncaged & Sub Sonik - Aggressors Of Violence Rejecta & Deluzion feat MC Flo - Desert Of Doom Rejecta & Regain & Unresolved - Rock It Polish Punisher & Unresolved - OG Damage Unresolved & Revolve & Cold Confusion & Uncaged feat MC Flo - Blood Warriors Level One - The Question (Cold Confusion Remix) Aversion & Rejecta - Go For Your Stereo Deluzion & Unresolved - Untouchables All that in a 73 minute long mix. That's a lot of goodies for all of us on the 31st of December. And as there isn't an official genre or style to listen to on the last day of the year, maybe we should call it the RAW day, on which all the radio stations should be playing this. I'd much rather prefer this over any Abba crap. They are a solid group, but their song just sounds too depressing to listen to today. Give me RAW all day, every day. It is a solid mix, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I really like the direction RAW is going to. More melodies, more hands in the air moments. Not just stomping constantly, we need some melodies. And this mix contains records which made me put my hands in the air a lot. A good selection of records, that's for sure. I do have to give one tiny criticism in regards to the style. Not a fan of ''MCs'' just screaming the lyrics. Not a fan of MCs in general in the harder styles, but they don't add anything special to songs. They are irrelevant to me. A track can be better without MCs, that's just my honest opinion. MC Nolz and MC Flo, yep, not my favourite whatsoever. That's just me. Give me tracks like 'Touch My Body' where there are actually nice vocals by a solid vocalist, not just screaming words through my speaker. But which track did do the most damage to my ears? 'The Question'. That's a solid track. What a way to end the year! Make sure you press play and go RAW into the New Year! Why not? Have a blast, have fun. And make peace, not war. • Noisetalgia Podcast 079 : Best of 2000 (2025)

The end of the year is coming. Tomorrow we will celebrate the last day of 2025, and what a year it has been. The time is right to reminisce, and think back. Not only of all the things which have happened in 2025, but also from the years gone by. A quarter of a century has gone by, since the Millennium started. 25 whole years, and now we are about to enter the 26th year. Time does fly by so darn quickly, it is unbelievable. And as time is relevant and only goes forward, at least we've got the opportunity to go back in time, every so often, and whenever we feel like it. Today is that day. It's not the first Indecent Noise mix of the year, but it will be the last of 2025, and in this mix do we celebrate the year 2000. I can't believe that this happened over 25 years ago. It is insane to think, but it is the truth. We are already closer to the year 2050 than to the year 2000. Insane, right? But what isn't insane, is the music from that glorious year. For Trance lovers, this was a fantastic year. We had so many great records released, and we danced to all of them. And now, in the 79th edition of his Noisetalgia podcast series, do we embrace them all, and dance the year away! I grew up with Trance music, but around the year 2000 did it become an obsession for me. Hardcore music went underground, and I stayed above ground. The harder styles did appeal to me, but Trance was just something exciting, and something that filled a massive gap. It could not resemble Hardcore in any way, shape or form, but it kind of worked for me. The euphoria and the uplifting elements did appeal to me the most, and 2000 was certainly a great year, as so many epic anthems were released, and you will find them in this mix! Push - Strange World (2000 Remake) Alibi - Eternity (IC Mix) Svenson & Gielen - The Beauty Of Silence Mauro Picotto - Komodo Paul van Dyk feat St. Etienne - Tell Me Why (The Riddle) Fragma - Toca Me Delerium feat Sarah McLachlan - Silence (Tiesto's ISOS Remix) Moogwai - Viola (Armin van Buuren Remix) Mario Piu - The Vision (Vision 1 Mix) Yves Deruyter - Back To Earth (Rave Mix) Lunatic Asylum - Cabal (Energy Flow) (Hitch Hiker & Dumont's Gorn Jabar Mix) Storm - Time To Burn Gouryella - Tenshi Delerium - Heaven's Earth (Matt Darey Remix) Cygnus X - Superstring (Rank 1 Remix) Coast 2 Coast feat Discovery - Home Lange feat Morrighan - Follow Me (Lange Remix) Blank & Jones - The Nightfly Vincent De Moor - Fly Away Barthezz - On The Move Lost Witness - 7 Colours 4 Strings - Daytime System F - Cry (Ferry Corsten Remix) Yahel & Yeal Barkan - Voyage (Tiesto's Magikal Remake) Marc et Claude - I Need Your Loving (Dark Moon Remix) Public Domain - Operation Blade Hennes & Cold - The Second Trip (Scot Project Remix) A mix that can take you back, 25 years in time, within a split second? Sign me up! This mix has got that capability, to transfer us back in time. And boy, do I feel younger? I certainly do. I remember hearing them where, when, and how. And even on which compilation it was on, which disc, and which track number. I am a nerd like that. The music was different back then, better. Much better. The quality of the songs are all insane, and they got a whole generation to dance to Trance music, from dusk til dawn. And I was one of them. Raving the night away. And also a memorable side note: we still had CD stores everywhere in the Netherlands, and I've spent multiple thousands of Euros in those shops. I could have purchased myself a brand new car instead, but I didn't. And I'm glad that I didn't. Music is life. Indecent Noise has selected a few nice records. 27 in total. And I would say 24 of them would fit extremely well in a 'appreciation mix' for the year 2000. 3 I would not add, as they were OK, but there were others better than those three. But let that not spoil the fun, as it is certainly a very entertaining mix. It is difficult to pick a favourite. There are so many in here. It turned into a tie between ''On The Move'' and ''The Nightfly''. These are the most memorable songs for me, as they have a personal link to them. But everyone is different, and you might have another record which you prefer over mine. Leave a comment below, always interesting to read which record you prefer. A wonderful mix. And what a way to end the year. Can't wait for 2026 and more Indecent Noise mixes! • Si Thompson - 20 Years Of 2005 UK Hardcore Mix Part 2 (17-6-2025)

Let's go back, 20 years back, to the wonderful year of our Lord, 2005. Remember that year? Where were you in 2005? What were you doing? And most important of all, what were you listening to back then? I was certainly listening to a lot of genre/styles: Hardcore, Gabber, Trance, Jumpstyle, Hardstyle, Techno, and this lesser known style UK Hardcore (lesser known in the Netherlands). Did I play this kind of music a lot back in the day? Hell yes, I sure did. I drove everyone around me mad, including my neighbours. But I could not give two shits. No shits were given.... Hardcore is life. And UK Hardcore is part of my life too. And in 2005 I was a full on raver. Remember the days when artists such as Brisk & Ham, Dougal & Gammer, Sy & Unknown, Scott Brown, Kurt & Joey Riot, etc, they ruled our scene. Their songs dominated my life, and I'm still extremely happy that I grew up with UKHC in my life. I would not be able to cope without it. It is probably the most energetic and happiest scene out there, in the whole world. Prove me wrong. Si Thompson's mix is the second in the series. I've already reviewed the first one back in October, and now the year is coming to an end, I thought it would be suitable to review the second mix. It is 52 minutes long, and of course the focus lies with all the goodies released in 2005, which is 20 years ago. Where has the time gone? Why does it fly by so damn quickly? It feels like yesterday, but obviously it isn't. Crikey, I'm getting old! Scott Brown vs Hyperbass - We're Droppin' This (Plus System Mix) Gavin G - Great Journey Scott Brown - Serial Killer Joey Riot - Hardcore 2 Da Bone Adam Harris - My Star (Brisk & Vagabond Remix) Scott Brown - I Call The Shots Scott Brown - Detonated (Plus System Remix) DJ Seduction - Raise Your Hands (Bouncy Mix) Joey Riot - Take Me Higher Gavin G & Dan Rolla - Happiness Seduction vs Dougal & Gammer - Happy Days Seduction & Sy - Bring It On Down DJ Kurt - U Wanna Rock? If a mix can make you feel 20 years younger, it immediately gets bonus points. And this one certainly makes me feel old again. Living in the Netherlands, being one of only a handful of ravers who actually loves UKHC. Times were different. Less stressful. And the music released in 2005 was so damn good. Seriously, what has changed? Why is the scene so disrupted? Why isn't it as joined up as it used to be? Obviously, regulars to this page know I'm a massive Scott Brown fan, and during the Millennium years, he dominated my life. Yes, Brisk & Ham, Dougal & Gammer, Sy & Unknown etc, they were part of it all, but Scott B, he was everything to me. And it's nice to see his songs making an appearance in this mix. But truth be told: you cannot make a mix without having at least one or two Scott Brown records in it. Especially when the mix is focussed on 2005! Si has made a very interesting mix with some serious dancefloor smashers in it. And normally I would go for a Scott Brown track as my favourite, but in 2005 ''U Wanna Rock?'' was the track that appeared everywhere. Christ, no mix or compilation or event could happen without this record being played. What a massive, stomper of a track! A solid mix. Some tiny errors, and ''Happiness'', which isn't the greatest song ever made, but still, this is a serious mix, and requires appreciation by all the UKHC fans from back in the day. If you raved in 2005, you will embrace this mix. And why not, have a listen to the first mix in this series. Hopefully Si will do more, as we do require more of these mixes! • Chronicles of Progression Ep 2 (2025)

The end of the year is in sight. And what a year it has been. It's been a year, filled with emotions. And it has ended in a bit of a peculiar way. But when it comes to the music I discovered throughout the year, it's been an amazing year. With a lot of excellent mixes on Soundcloud. I've spent so many hours/days/weeks/months on Soundcloud, it is unbelievable. And to end the year properly, let me introduce you to a very mellow sounding mix, you'll certainly enjoy this one! I don't listen to enough Progressive House mixes, which is obviously a shame. But when I do hear them, I am always blown away by the quality of the songs. One month ago, I found a mix by Perky (wasn't he a cartoon character from the 90s?), and it's the second instalment of the 'Chronicles Of Progression' series. I've not heard the first one, but I was certainly blown away by the perkiness of this mix (see what I did there?). I've seen and listened to a few Progressive House mixes throughout the year, and they always seem to put a massive smile on my face. Will Perky's mix do the same today? I am fairly confident that the mix you are about to listen to, will be one that will generate smiles for miles. Or, it could just be a very pleasant alternative to whatever is playing on your radio or streaming platform. Christmas isn't officially done, but the songs are definitely behind us.... Aly & Fila, Scott Bond, Charlie Walker - Shadow (Paul Thomas Extended Remix) Ruben Karapetyan - State Of Progression (Original Mix) John Keding - Amsterdam (Original Mix) Paul Thomas & Fuenka - Gladiator (Extended Mix) Lipless & Nattica - Catching Fire (Extended Mix) Paul Thomas - Emotional Landscapes (Ezequiel Arias Extended Mix) Rokazer - Fragments (Extended Mix) Michael Simon & M.O.S. - Without You (Extended Mix) Corren Cavini - Listen To The Silence (Extended Mix) Corren Cavini - Daydream (Extended Mix) Estiva - All Night (Trilucid Extended Remix) Lauren L'aimant & Scorz - New Horizon (Extended Mix) I am not an expert in Progressive House music, not even a connoisseur, but just an enthusiast. So the names in this list might not create an instant emotion, one that resembles recognition. But what speaks volumes, is the actual music. And the music, selected and mixed together by Perky, is certainly great! It has been a very pleasant hour, that's for sure. Perky has picked 12 amazing and smooth sounding records, and blended them together nicely. The hour does fly by, and you will feel more relaxed and mellow compared to when you started this mix. You'll feel blissful, and extremely happy. I know I was extremely happy during, and after this mix had ended. You might be wondering why? Well, simple reason: I could start the mix again! This has been a very pleasant mix to listen to. I've thoroughly enjoyed myself. The selection of songs were really good, but when you hear both Corren Cavini's songs, that's when it all comes together. They are absolutely blinding records. Never heard of Corren Cavini, but I'll be on the hunt for more. Get this down you, right now! If you are looking for the perfect mix to listen to, when the end of the year is in sight, look no further: this is the one! • Daniel Skyver - The 21st Century 001 (2025)

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. And you got all the presents you were wishing for. And obviously, you got fed well. Or maybe too well, as most families around this festive period go overboard with the amount of food. I hope the food was sufficient enough, and that you are now feeling as stuffed as the turkey. But Christmas is so much more than just food and presents. Depending on your beliefs, it could be to celebrate the birth of an important figure in human history. I hope your Christmas day and Boxing day have both been pleasant enough. I know for a fact that my Christmas was good. We had good food, and we played board games. We even had a power cut in our little village. That was a bit awkward, but we still made it entertaining. Board game, a bit of Christmas food, a torch to keep our house a bit lit, and Christmas music. That's now all behind us, and it is time to say goodbye to Christmas music, and play good music again. And the mix I've found today, is one you will certainly appreciate. The mix you are about to listen to, is the first instalment of a series focussed on Trance songs released in the 21st century. The mix was made by Daniel Skyver, who has had a previous entry on this site back in 2022. I have not reviewed anything in between 2022 and now, but what a mix to end the year with. And as I can tell, it's split into two mixes (so far). There could be more mixes coming, who knows? The century started in 2001, and has been ongoing for 25 years.... so many good Trance tunes have been released, and there will be more and more.. Stoneface & Terminal - North Cape Andy Moor & Adam White presents Whiteroom - The Whiteroom Ferry Corsten & Betsie Larkin - Made Of Love Solarstone - Solarcoaster (Midway Remix) Raz Nitzan & Moya Brennan - Find The Sun (Solarstone Remix) Breakfast - The Horizon Daxson - Aurora Solarstone & Clare Stagg - The Spell Super8 & DJ Tab - Helsinki Scorchin M.I.K.E. Push presents Overtone - The Sun Rises Who.Is - We.Are System F - Cry The Thrillseekers - Just Because John O'Callaghan feat Josie - Out Of Nowhere (Stoneface & Terminal Remix) Factor B feat Arielle Maren - Connected (Lostly Remix) The Thrillseekers presents Hydra - Standing On The Edge Of Space (Cold Blue Remix) Nu NRG - Dreamland A very splendid mix to listen to on the 27th of December. Come on, we're done now, listening to Christmas songs. Let's enjoy the good music released in the first quarter of the 21st century. It's been a tremendous 25 years, and I hope to witness more quarters, at least one more. This mix has made me very happy. So many wicked anthems, ranging from 2000 up until the present year we are in. It's a nice selection of records, and they all blend in nicely together. This is a nearly 2 hour long mix with some serious hitters. You will thank me after this review, for giving you the opportunity to listen to this mix. And obviously we are thankful for Daniel Skyver to have made this mix. It's a splendid mix. It has given me goose bumps, hearing those euphoric anthems again. The one that got me the most euphoric, is 'Made Of Love'. Leave it up to Ferry Corsten to make a song so damn beautiful. It was closely followed by 'The Spell' and 'Just Because', but it is still miles ahead of the others in this mix. Maybe because of the gorgeous vocals? A solid mix. Go and listen to it right now. It is cold outside, and no real reason for you to be out. Turn the heating up, and whilst you are at it, turn the volume up too! • Culture Beat - Serenity (1993)

This is a bit of a weird review. Not because of the music, but more what happened on the day I started this review. It was the 16th of November of this year, and I was just listening to this album, as I wanted to write something about it, and we had to rush back to my wife's mother's house, to find her unfortunately not alive anymore. Obviously I did not continue writing this review, as it left a bit of a nasty aftertaste in my mouth, which is obviously not Culture Beat's fault. More than a month has passed now, and I think it's OK to pick this up again, where I left it behind.... Culture Beat was important to me, as a kid. Growing up in the 90s, you listen to whatever your parents were listening to, and I was getting a bit fed up with hearing Abba, Queen, Barry White, and all these softie artists. I needed something a tad harder and faster. Hence why my dad comes into the picture. He was always a bit of a fan of the harder sounds, and when he purchased Culture Beat's album 'Serenity', I ''borrowed'' it and never gave it back. What was his, is now mine. I only knew Culture Beat from their hit single 'Mr. Vain', which got played on each radio station, and reached number 1 in multiple countries, including the Netherlands. But that's not when they started: their roots lie within the late 80s. But the mainstream pop culture only became aware of them because of 'Mr. Vain', which is still a massive hit. A few other hits followed, and then they kind of disappeared. They still kind of release music, and their latest hit from 2017, ''Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas'', it didn't chart anywhere, and truth be told: I've not even heard it. The album is still in my possession, and I do not believe my dad knows I actually borrowed it. Culture Beat - Serenity (Prolog) Culture Beat - Mr. Vain Culture Beat - Got To Get It Culture Beat - World In Your Hands Culture Beat - Adelante! Culture Beat - Rocket To The Moon Culture Beat - Anything Culture Beat - Key To Your Heart Culture Beat - The Other Side Of Me Culture Beat - The Hurt Culture Beat - Mother Earth Culture Beat - Serenity (Epilog) Culture Beat - ID Tania Culture Beat - ID Jay It was a very short album. Only 64 minutes long, which obviously is a tad weird. But it also had a weird ending segment, which we'll get to in a minute. The opening is great. And after the 'intro', it goes straight into Culture Beat's biggest hit, 'Mr. Vain'. What a classic song that is. And it just goes on and on. What I did notice, is that the band actually had a more spiritual message, a message about Earth, relationships, and so much more. Not just some Europop trashy songs, but ones with a deeper meaning. Until you get to track 13 and 14. I don't get, to this day, why they've got these +/- 10 seconds tracks on here, where the two main artists talk about where they are and telling you what you are about to listen to. It sounds more like snippets from a radio show, during which the artists introduce their next song. Not really fitting on this album. Weird ending: they should have added 1 more track to it, or have 'Serenity' be the last track. The more 'mellow' sounding songs are OK, but they wouldn't get me dancing until the Sun comes up. It's the more faster and more vigorous songs that get me and everyone else on the dancefloor. Yes, 'Mr. Vain' is cool, but there are three records that are the best on this album. 'Serenity (Epilog)', 'Adelante!', and my most favourite, and clearly the most underrated song of Culture Beat: 'Anything'. The version on this album I do not come across that often, and it hits hard. Proper rave anthem, if the ravers actually knew it existed. A wicked album with mixed emotions attached to it. But I will have to push my emotions aside when 'Anything' comes on. One of the greatest Eurodance anthems of the 90s, that's for sure. • Revokez presents: Orange Heart 🧡 [Headhunterz Tribute Mix] (2025)

What a year it has been. It's been a tremendous year for music. And one of the artists who has been successful, is Headhunterz. I've been following his music for a few decades now, and he still keeps the entertainment level extremely high. For 22 years he has been giving us excellent music, and he doesn't stop. Well, if I'm not mistaken, he did stop performing after 2023. But then he did do a Project One set? He is still around and still making music, and that's all that matters, right? And he is certainly spreading the Orange Heart. I don't know what it is, but every song he releases, he seems to make it as catchy as possible, and make it sound extremely euphoric. To me, and that's my personal view, he started off more on the harder side, but over the years he has implemented the need to make a track more euphoric, and have more vocal elements in each song. He even got the singer from Kosheen on a few songs, how cool is that? This isn't the first mix by Revokez on our site, and it won't be the last one either. But maybe the last one of 2025. And what a mix to end the year with. A full on, hour and a half, mix of all Headhunterz songs. I couldn't wish for anything else, and it has been on repeat ever since I discovered it. I am a sucker for Headhunterz, that's a genuinely known fact. He is a fantastic producer, and I've seen a few sets online, and he nails it. Within that hour and a half, we go backward and forward in time. A bit of the old Heady, and a bit of the new Heady. Whatever you need, it is in here. All the classics, all the big hits, all the dancefloor and festival destroyers! Imagine being at a festival and NOT hear a Headhunterz track. That must be a weird event, right? This brings back a lot of memories. You might look at this and think ''oh, that's too much Headhunterz'', and I would say to that ''fuck off''. You can never get too much Headhunterz. The mix could have been 8 hours long, and still sound fresh, euphoric, and dope as fuck! He has had so many great anthems under his belt, and he keep on releasing new and exciting music. I did like 'Spectrum' a LOT, and 'Our Church' is catchy as fuck, and of course 'Orange Heart', because I'm half Dutch, but 'The Flame Inside' is the one that got me excited the most. In this mix it was the one song that stood out the most, which had the most heft. Closely followed 'The Upside Down'. 2025 has been a great year for both Revokez and Headhunterz, and I hope 2026 will be an even better year. More of these excellent mixes, and more of these awesome records! I can't predict the future, but if it continues like it has been, it will be a smashing year. Time to sign off, and getting ready for Christmas. Why not make it more interesting and have this play during your Christmas dinner/lunch/breakfast, and tell Mariah to 'f*** off'. • Classic House Mix (2024)

This is the weekend of diversity. Started off with some Hardcore, then to some Jumpstyle, Breakbeat Hardcore followed, after that Trance, and now some lovely House music. There's so much good music out there, and I could not keep it from you. But this mix you are about to listen to, has already had a good amount of plays in 1 year. But all for good reasons: it is House music, and who doesn't love House music, right? We all grew up with it, and it's a safe genre. You cannot go wrong with House music. The channel who uploaded this mix, is called 'cunny_mixes'. Not sure if they are behind this mix, but if they are, they've made a cracking mix. The tracklist is a work of art, and you will know in a second why that is. But you could have a guess? It is probably because the music is ace. And that's certainly the case. It resembles the image above: people around a swimming pool (floating on water?), sun going down, and people chilling. Not really dancing, but sometimes you've got to take a short break from dancing, and start floating on water..... Before you get all excited and hope it's early House music, it isn't. It's late 90s and early 00s House music. You know all these records, as you've danced throughout the nights 20+ years ago. Life was a bit less worrisome, and the only thing we were worried about, was what the next drink was going to be. Alcoholic or non alcoholic? We had less worries, and better music. And as I mentioned before, they are safe anthems. You still hear them today, and you feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside. They have become certified House classics! Blaze feat Barbara Tucker - Precious Love Todd Terry - Keep On Jumpin Johnny Corporate - Sunday Shoutin Pete Heller - Big Love (Dronez Remix) Afro Medusa - Pasilda Shapeshifters - Lola's Theme The Goodfellas - Soul Heaven Deepswing - In The Music Blaze - Do U Remember House Soulsearcher - Can't Get Enough Michael Gray - The Weekend Shakedown - At Night Jon Cutler - It's Yours Sunkids - Rescue Me Supakings - Back And Forth Lolletta Holloway - Dreamin Soul Providers - Rise Rui Da Silva - Touch Me Layo & Bushwaka - Love Story It is currently the 21st of December, and it is 8 degrees Celsius outside. Not very warm, and not pleasant. At least it's not snowing, right? But with this on, you can close your eyes and imagine a sunnier climate. Somewhere very sunny, with a nice beach, some big ass speakers, a drink in one hand and some lovely food in the other, and hearing these anthems come at you. Oh, that sounds lovely! This is an excellent mix. Good anthems. And even a few versions you might not even know, or heard of. A nice blend, and the 71 minutes do fly by before you know it. 20k+ listens so far, and the numbers will only go up and up, because it's a nice and tight mix, and the songs are beautiful! Seriously beautiful. There are two tracks in here I truly adore. ''Rise'' is one amazing track, and reminds me of Innercity 2000 (saw them live there), and 'It's Yours'. I remember receiving a free CD at Sensation White 2001 from a tobacco company in conjunction with ID&T, and this song was on there. You won't find the album anywhere, but it was a very good album, on which this was one of the finest songs on it. I can't wait for more of these mixes. I'll check their Soundcloud channel for more House mixes. Bring back the classics, and bring back this sound! We need it now more than ever! • Vocal Trance Tonight And Forever - Episode 29 (2025)

It's the last Sunday before Christmas. And I bet you my life that the shops are all busy right now. Or the Amazon drivers are clogging up the roads with all the deliveries. I could not imagine anything worst to do right now: shopping must be horrendous. A horrendous experience no-one wants to witness or go through. Best to stay at home and listen to a mix I was informed about a couple of days ago. Much better, and much cosier too. It is raining outside too, so stay warm and dry inside. And have this blasting out loud. It's yet another mix by bbtomie, and this time the focus lies with tracks which contains good vocals. Vocals make or break a song, right? And when it comes to Trance music, the vocals can take it all the way up, way up in the stratosphere. Or plummet it all the way down, to the deepest depths of Hell. Trance vocals always seem to be more emotional, if you compare it to other genres/styles, such as Hardstyle, House, Hardcore, and more. I can have it either way: with or without vocals. A good Trance track does not need vocals, but when it does, it becomes even better. This hour long mix contains only 10 records, and they all have fantastic vocalists on each of them. And it is really needed to hear good Trance anthems: I'm getting a bit annoyed, hearing those Christmas anthems. Much rather prefer this over any Christmas song. So what's in store? Well, these anthems: Reflekt feat Delline Bass - Need To Feel Loved (Thrillseekers Remix) Lange feat Kirsty Hawkshaw - Sincere For You (Thrillseekers Remix) Matt Hardwick vs Smith & Pledger - Connected Davy van Eynde feat Fara - Irawadi (I'm Leaving) (Duderstadt Vocal Mix) Chicane feat Bryan Adams - Don't Give Up 2004 (Alex Gold & The Sound Xpress Mix) Tenth Planet - Ghosts (Vincent De Moor Remix) Koris vs DJule - Sensor Of Time (M.O.R.P.H. vs Scirocco Remix) Tilt - Invisible (Lost Tribe Vocal Mix (Matt Darey & R. Jerry)) Signum - Come Around Again (DJ Danjo & Rob Styles Remix) Above & Beyond - Far From In Love It's another solid mix. With only 10 records in this mix, it's a short one, but very powerful mix. The tracks on their own are very good, but put together, it gives you an hour of pure bliss. This is the kind of Trance I really like. Good vocals, and good tracks. The hour has gone by without hesitation. And each track has left a mark on my brain, especially the biggest track of them all. Those vocals, by Bryan Adams, were EVERYWHERE when it was released. You could not put on a radio show without hearing him blasting out the words ''Don't Give Up''. And that's already 2 decades ago?! My God, where has the time gone. ''Need To Feel Loved'' is also a fantastic anthem. A good track to start with, that's for sure. But the one that did the most damage, because of the vocals, has to be 'Come Around Again'. Sweet Lord, what an anthem. The original was great, but this remix is also very excellent. bbtomie's mix is yet another wicked one. Hope he does more of these vocal ones, as there are millions of awesome records out there, not discovered yet, or forgotten about, which deserve more credits. But for now, put this on instead of Christmas songs. You'll thank me later! • Mogley - SK Mannerz Weekend - Energy1058 (2) (2025)

From Hardcore to Jumpstyle, to Hardcore. I've been listening to a lot lately, and Mogley's set was one of those sets which I did devour. It's been an interesting couple of weeks. Interestingly enough for me to wish 2025 to be well behind me. Bring on 2026. And let's go into the new year with some proper oldskool slammers. Mogley made this mix especially for the SK Mannerz Tribute weekend on Energy1058. And a tribute mix is always special to hear. Not an avid listener of Energy 1058, but SK Mannerz was someone important who unfortunately passed away. The tribute was made especially for this tribute weekend, and the result is a very wicked mix. A lot of early rave anthems, and he kicked his set off with some legendary Prodigy anthem. And the mix continues. It's an hour full of early goodies. And we are all massive fans of the early sound, aren't we? I've listened to this mix over and over, and I would highly recommend it, as the music always brings a smile on my face. Some Hardcore, Breakbeat, Jungle Techno, oldskool, and nuskool. Everything you want to hear. And it also contains a few records I've not heard before. But what has to be said, is the fact that this is a very nice tribute mix, but the hour does fly by quicker than ever. Before you know it, you are already one hour ahead, and look back in awe: where have those 60 minutes gone to? The Prodigy - Everybody In The Place (155 And Rising) Rachel Wallace - Tell Me Why (E-Type Remix) Structural Damage - The Unforgettable Feeling DJ Junk - Gold Stars Fast Floor - Phlight Of The Innovators (Remix) Freshtrax - Version Excursion Innercore feat Lilliana - Chequered Floor Dead By '94 - Drop The Needle The Prodigy - Weather Experience (Top Buzz Remix) Outer Time - Beware Of My Love International Rude Boyz - Drum Programme (Remix) Enzyme & Malice - Colonies Enzyme - Bass Driver Vinyl Junkie & Sanxion - Just Easy Neuromancer - Pennywise (2 Twisted Mix) The Prodigy - G-Force (Energy Flow) Hyper On Experience - Thundergrip (Pete Cannon Remix) Ramos & Supreme - Crowd Control (Pete Cannon Remix) Jack In Box x Darwin - Not Colourblind A mix is always made better with The Prodigy songs in it, right? Can't go wrong with The Prodigy. But there's so much more to this mix. It has got a very pleasant flow. The hour does fly by before your eyes. Last year, when I discovered Mogley, his mix made me interested, and a year later, I'm still interested in the sound he represents on Energy 1058. I don't have the actual time to listen live, but thankfully we've got Soundcloud. Some lovely anthems in here, but you all know that I love my music to be rougher and tougher, and 'Version Excursion' is just that track for me. Fast and vigorous, just how I love my music. And the simple lyrics 'version excursion' will remain in your head for hours, if not days. I've thoroughly liked this mix a lot. Worth checking out, and if you want to hear more, why not check our Energy 1058? There are plenty of other DJs on here, representing the old and nuskool. And those are the only two skools we actually give a shit about. Who cares about school, when you've got the oldskool and nuskool? • Sodomising the Earth #15 (2025)

Growing up, Jumpstyle would be everywhere. And I certainly listened to many mixes online. I can't remember which website it was, but it was filled with homemade sets. And I downloaded hundreds, if not, thousands of mixes, and they were listened to a lot. Jumpstyle was so damn cool, and especially certain tracks, they would get me off my chair, and jumping up and down. Not the silly dance the kids did, that was just idiotic. But the music was awesome, and I do miss it. It is a shame it went down the way it went. It died quickly in 2007.... But it is certainly missed a lot. I bought so many albums and listened to so many mixes, I can still dream them, imagine them in my head. But did it completely disappear? Not really, it went more underground, and can still be heard here and there, mainly at parties where Freestyle is played. It is still an important part of dance music history, and we should embrace it. Again, not the dance, as that was a tad silly, and too commercialised. But the music. That's all that matters. I did love it a lot, until certain songs appeared in the top 40, and even Scooter joined the madness. That was for the time to jump ship, and discovered other styles, or rediscovered those which I've loved before but fell out of love with. But deep down inside, I still love Jumpstyle a lot, hence why I was a happy chap when I discovered the latest mix by Sodom and Gomorrah. 48 minutes long, and 31 tracks. That's like how the mixes used to be, right? Sodom & Gomorrah - Intro Furax - Fuck Orgus (Dr. Rude Remix) DJ Fox feat Chicago Zone - Just A Melody The Game - Crash Test (T-Nikko & Bjorn Smith Remix) Xtortion - The Ultim8 Sodom & Gomorrah - Rough Stuff (Extended Edit) Dustin Hertz, Da Rick & Pat B - Ketamine Ruthless & Orphan - Bass Droppin 9 Milliz - Shikaka (Extended Mix) Lethal MG - Youeternal (Official Bootleg) (Ronald V Remix) Francois & Pat B - Mix The Master Sodom & Gomorrah - Terminate (Demo) The Dreamteam - Thunderball (Serano Remix) Vorwek - Cambodia (Sodom & Gomorrah x BLVCKPRINT Remix) Lethal MG - Mary Go Wild (The Insiders Bootleg) GJ Warez - Popcorn Dustin Hertz & BLVCKPRINT - Disconnected (Sodom & Gomorrah Vocal) Polycarpus - Soda Pop DJ Fox - Again's A Melody DJ Coone - Infected (Original Mix) Lethal MG - Pandemonium Robert Armani - Hit Hard (Sodom & Gomorrah Edit) Relic - The Hard Dancer (Sodom & Gomorrah Edit) Polycarpus - Hypnotized Jeckyll & Hyde - The Flipside Dave Davis - Transfiguration (Lethal MG Remix ) Ruthless & GJ Warez - What's Wrong Sodom & Gomorrah - Bells Of Awakening (Extended Mix) Chicago Zone - Speaker Antonio & Cristiano - Dirty Cash Sodom & Gomorrah - Eschata This is a very nice mix, with some amazing tracks. Nostalgic feelings I am currently experiencing. I feel young again. Haven't really got the body anymore, as I'm now 20 years older, but in my head I'm still 20 years younger, and very active on the dancefloor. This sound is truly missed. But it is still kept alive, and you can even find a few Sodom & Gomorrah records. I've not heard them before, but they certainly nailed the Jumpstyle sound from back in the day. That sound cannot be forgotten, as it certainly has some heft to it. And both Sodom and Gomorrah picked a few epic records from back in the day. Seeing Lethal MG and Chicago Zone, that's always a win for me. But the track that got me feeling young and energetic, it has to be ''Crash Test''. That's a track that screams Jumpstyle to me. Maybe an underrated record, but certainly one I enjoy a lot. Not so much my car speakers, as they are trembling in the door panels. But they should not have been speakers if they disliked music, right? A wicked mix. That's all I can say. And if you like this mix, there's 14 other mixes you can check out. And I would urge you to do so, as there's so much more to discover. Final note: bring back the Jumpstyle sound from back in the day. Not the commercial rubbish, but the proper anthems. And don't tell Scooter, as they might ruin a style yet again. We don't want that malarky to happen again. • Thunderdome Mini Tribute (2025)

I am a Thunderdome baby. Well, technically not true, but I am true to the brand. I am loyal. And like many others, during the 90s, I've bought everything imaginable. From CDs to t-shirts to special editions, and even went to a Thunderdome. Not had the honour of having the Wizard tattooed on my skin: I am a bit of a wimp. But everything else I did do, and the main honour for me, and many around me, was the fact that I played the albums over and over. I drove everyone around me absolutely mad, and I could not care. I was, and still am, a Thunderdome fan! The Wizard has followed me everywhere throughout the 90s, and I did collect every single CD I could find. I think I stopped around 2004/2005, when the CDs weren't my cup of tea anymore. And it missed the legendary artwork. It wasn't like it used to be. And I ventured into other styles too. I tried to buy new albums, but the direction the brand went into, it wasn't for me. So I left the 'newer' albums behind, and stayed true to the 90s and early 00s. The last couple of years, after Thunderdome sets being uploaded onto YouTube, I started to feel 'young' again, and required a bit more Thunderdome in my life. Obviously I went back to the classic albums, but those new live sets on YouTube, they did do something to me. There was hope. 3 Steps Ahead Tribute, The Dreamteam back together, and all those great, legendary acts, on stage. Not a fan of any of the Uptempo sets or Frenchcore sets, but the classics still do enough damage to my eardrums. Why am I talking about this? Well, it's because I've been listening to a set by The Finnishing Dutch, and it contains a few of the Thunderdome anthems, new and old. A nice mixture of everything. Unfortunately not ALL the anthems, but 11 of them. Which is still sufficient. And it's the newer anthems, which I've not paid attention to, who are certainly making me open my ears again. They peak my interest, to say the least. Bass-D & King Matthew - The Thunder Anthem DJ Delirium - Dance Or Die (DJ Delirium Remix) DJ Weirdo - The Thunder Anthem (Weird Siren Mix) Promo - Feel The Thunder Nosferatu & Tha Playah - Move As One (Official Thunderdome 2025 Anthem) Ophidian - Who You Are Nosferatu - Destination: Thunderdome (Official Anthem 2024) Mad Dog - Xtreme Audio (Official Thunderdome 2023 Anthem) DJ Dano - Welcome To The Thunderdome 50% Of The Dreamteam - The Thundertheme 3 Steps Ahead - The Thunder Anthem (Thunderscream) Wow. This is cool. 11 of the anthems all in one short mix. And as much as I love Tina Turner screaming ''Thunderdome'', the newer, darker and manlier vocals also does a lot of damage. And it makes me feel something in my belly. I don't know what it is. But just the word gives me goose bumps. I have to admit, that 'The Thunder Anthem' by Weirdo, that's my least favourite anthem. AC/DC in this song? That just ruins it for me. But that was Weirdo back in the day. Not the best anthem unfortunately. Obviously one of the greatest ever made, is by Dano. His 'Welcome To The Thunderdome' is an anthem that gets everyone dancing/raving. Iconic, legendary, and now the follow-up comment, which might be a bit controversial: the anthems from 2023, 2024, and 2025, they are better than the song by Dano! Yes, it is true. As good as it is, those 3 years have give us anthems so freaking good, and they still made them feel and sound new and old at the same time, yet still being unique and refreshing. Those three anthems resemble the new generation and the old, all in one. It's a very nice but short mix. I do miss a few anthems. Maybe one day we will get the full anthem-back catalogue mix by The Finnishing Dutch? I couldn't get enough of this mix, so maybe we might get a mix one day. Who knows? The only thing I do know, is that I'm Thunderdome until the day I die. And I will dance, not die! Like Hardcore, it will be a legacy I will keep with me, forever and ever. • Here Comes The Sun '08 (2016)

It isn't sunny anymore, nor is it Summer anymore. It is quite pleasant outside though: currently the temperature is 11 degrees Celsius, which is quite mild for mid December. Global warming isn't just a myth though. But it isn't in full effect yet, as we are still not wearing flip flops in the winter, or ditching the thick coats. At night it does get a bit chilly, and we still have the thick quilt on the bed. The only thing that keeps me warm throughout the day is the music, and what a fantastic mix have I found today for you all!? It's an 'oldie' but golden one. Another mix by the famous channel 'History Of Happy Hardcore', and it's yet another non-Happy Hardcore mix. Truth be told, there are more than 700 mixes on their page, and the chance to find anything but Happy Hardcore is probably very high. You might wonder how I found this 9 year old mix among all the hundreds of mixes on their page? Well, there's a reasonable explanation for that. I have been on a nostalgic trip down memory lane, and have been watching/listening a lot of Sensation White CDs. And I do mean a lot. I think I listened to all from 2000 to 2008, and I have to conclude that dance music was much better back then. One of the tracks, which was played by DJ Chuckie in 2008, makes an appearance in this mix, hence why I discovered this mix, and now I'm all over it. 2008 was a wicked year for music, in general. Just have a quick glance at the list below, and you'll know exactly what I mean! Chicane vs Natasha Bedingfield - Bruised Water (Mischa Daniels Club Mix) Kristine Blond - Loveshy (Allan King 2008 Remix) Axwell - Together (Albin Myers Remix) Delirium - Silence (Niels van Gogh vs Thomas Gold Remix) Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar (Out Of Office Remix) Dabruck & Klein - Cars (Tommy Trash Remix) Paul Johnson - Get Get Down (Jason Rooney Remix) D.Ramirez feat TC - With Me Or Against Me (Original Club Mix) Ce Ce Peniston - Finally 2008 (Kam Denny & Paul Zala Remix) DJ Sender - Operator (Dabruck & Klein Remix) Arno Cost - Souvenir Cassius - Sound Of Violence (Teo Moss & Fredelux Remix) Syke 'N' Sugarstarr - No Love Lost (D.O.N.S. & DBN Remix) Tom Novy vs Snap - Rhythm Is A Dancer 2008 This is a throwback mix to 2008! What a fantastic year it was, and these songs surely make you wish you could go back, 17 years in time, and relive those glorious moments. They are long gone, way behind us, but at least we've got mixes like this one. What a smile inducing mix. I'm sitting here, smiling, and enjoying life. Yes, the weather might not be suitable for this mix, but deep down inside I'm glowing. I'm hot. But that could also be because I'm sitting near a radiator. Who knows? The HOHH have made a wonderful mix, and it went unnoticed by so many. Not like their usual mixes. Don't really know why though, this mix deserves more credit. And we need more mixes dedicated to the year 2008. In my head it was the year of the remixes, or the reworks or mashups. Am I wrong in assuming that? Let's dive straight in: favourite song. ''Together''. Nothing can compete with this song. A seriously underrated song I've not heard in at least a decade. Bring back these hidden gems, and make them known to all on the dancefloors, all over the world. HOHH, you've done it again. A wonderful mix. The weekend can now officially start! • I Think I Love You UK Hardcore (2025)

It's been a weird few weeks. Unpleasant weeks. And it just continues. Which is certainly unpleasant, but we are to try and find some kind of happiness among it all. And I've found something which certainly makes me happier. A UK Hardcore mix by Lone Raver. It's been on Soundcloud for a few months, and has had good reviews so far, and I'm slowly going up the Top Fans list on Soundcloud. You'll know why in a second! I have felt the same as the Lone Raver. He fell out of love with UKHC, but now he has regained his love again, which led to this mix. And of course there's an added bonus: it is linked to one of his own releases. But it contains a lot of new music I've not heard before, and it's a very special mix. It is getting me through some darker times now. I'm fine, it is just everything around me. Don't worry about me too much: I've got this mix, and it is making me extremely happy! Obviously I've got a lot to catch up on, and all the tracks in this mix were unknown to me. Not that much focussed on UKHC at the moment, but maybe I should reinvest some time into this music, as it brought me a lot of happiness. And it's a nice blend of everything new and exciting. And it certainly sounds fresh as fuck! Brett Cooper feat Nya - In My Dreams Diakronik - Home Ectomorph & M-Rei - Hold Me Tonight Alaguan & Al Storm - Rushin' Around (Back To 2009 Mix) Jack In Box & Darwin - Beautiful Maze Diakronik - Medicine Of Love Flakee, DBL & Darwin - Good Without Technikore feat Lisa Abbott - My Intention (HTID Mix) Brett Cooper - Dreams Fracus feat Fraz - Save Our Love (2025 Mix) Jack In Box & Darwin - Every Moment (Back 2 2005 Mix) Alaguan - Balance Fracus & Jack In Box - I Don't Need You Eufeion - Jump Up Lone Raver - Think I Love You (On Top) An amazing looking tracklist. Not come across these songs before, but once I started listening to this mix, they've not left me. This mix has been on repeat for the last couple of days, and even today, starting at 7am, it has been on for 9 hours continuously. This is a very happy mix, with some very happy tunes. Beautiful and happy at the same time. It has brought a smile on my face, and has given me enough information to get my life back on track, and move forward with a huge smile on my face. Obviously, if you've not encountered the Lone Raver before, you might appreciate the closing track, which is his own. It wouldn't surprise me if you like all 15 records, like I do. But unfortunately, my favourite record in this mix has to be 'I Don't Need You' by Fracus and Jack In Box. Such a big anthem, love it. Go and jump on this right away, you won't be disappointed. You might even have a smile as big as mine. Who knows, only one way to find out! • Rave Tape's Vol.1 - White Dove (2025)

Isn't it wonderful, to find mixes/livesets and there's not a lot of info available? This is one of those: a nearly 2 hour long set, and the only bit of info is that this set was recorded at Doncaster Warehouse back in December 1994. And that's all there is to it. Not much more information available. Who made this set, and how come a set recorded in 1994 sounds so damn good? I mean the actual audio recording. It sounds so damn good. Which is weird. But it's a good set, nonetheless. It takes us all back to 1994, and the fantastic songs released. Whoever did this set, it's a remarkable one, and the 53 songs selected are all fantastically good. They dominated the Hardcore scene everywhere. And as a little raver myself, in 1994, I started to get used to it, and listened to as much as I could muster. But as a young lad, you try your best to listen to everything. And this set has got everything. A mixture of UK and European Hardcore/Gabber. And the nice touch, which you might appreciate, is the audience. You can hear them in the background, alive and kicking. Which does make me wonder, if this is indeed a set from 1994, and it poses another question: how did they get the quality up to 2025 standards? How's that possible? I remember hearing all these sets back in the day, and the quality was shockingly bad. But this one seems to be the best of the best. Amazing. If you haven't checked it out yet, here's the tracklist: 1. Q-Tex - Acidulous 2. Acid Heads - Acid Thunder 3. Sub Source - Hardcore Anthem 4. Hocus Pocus - Here's Johnny 5. Renegade Static - We'll Delete The Weak 6. Mr. Brown - Jump 7. Dance Overdose - Overdose Stomp 8. Dr. Pravda - Krankenhaus 9. Technotrance - YRS Stomp 10. Some of these tracks I've not heard in a while, and in this mix, they all come together, and it works extremely well. Whoever made this set, credit where credit is due. A solid set, no errors, and a cracking set overall. Obviously it's made better due to the excellent songs selected. And 1994 was a fantastic year for Hardcore. And there are too many awesome tracks to choose from, but it has to be the best song of 1994. T.N.T.'s ''Brainwash Killer''. Such a classic, and a powerful anthem too. You could not listen to an album or a cassette without this song on it. No nonsense, just stomping hard Hardcore from the early 90s. I could not wish for anything more, or less. This brought a smile on my face, and made me stomp my feet harder than ever before. A pure nostalgic trip for me, and if you are into this kind of music, you will love this set too. Still curious to find out who made this set. And how the fuck it can be in such an awesome recording quality? How's that possible? • Rave The X-Mass (1993)

I was genuinely under the impression that I did review this CD many years ago, but I can't find it on my website. Maybe on a previous iteration of the site, maybe? But that got lost due to some Trojan horse viruses, so we are f**ked. So here's a review which might have been one I already did many years ago, or not. No one knows. Only Santa Claus knows. And he knows everything: if you've been nice, or not nice. He carries that magical book with him, and in it, you can find literally everything. Including the knowledge of me writing this review in the past. Santa, if you are out there, please give me a sign! He's not given me a sign. So let's pretend it never happened. Well, the CD I've listened to over the last few days, is a special one. Not many of these were made, and it was only a thing during the early 90s. Christmas Hardcore/Gabber CDs. Now that's a statement I thought I'd never make. And it feels weird to say. Christmas and Hardcore music, that doesn't go together, it doesn't blend. Or does it? If we go by the demand from the raving community, there's no such demand at all, and they quietly decided to make it go away. Rave The City is a well know concept within the Hardcore/Gabber world, and played a huge part in the development of Hardcore. In 1993, they tried to make a CD that could be sold during the festive season, and to see if this would catch on. It didn't, and even though I don't know the sales volume (numbers sold), I can imagine that they weren't high. It was weird, hearing Hardcore songs with Christmas elements, like all the bells and whistles. It was the early days of Hardcore, and it was trying everything. To no avail. No one was waiting for this, nor was the world ready for it. This sub-genre can be seen as quite niche, and obscure. Over the years there have been this resurgence of people who think this is cool and exciting, and I'm one of those people. Not sure when I bought this CD, but it must have been after it was released in 1993, and when it was a tad cheaper, as I would not spend any hard earned Dutch Guilders on this. DJ Paul - Hosanna Jesus On Speed - Jingle Hell DJ Gizmo - Ghost Of X-Mass Future Noise Gate - The Magic Sack Gate 6 - The Snowman Scrooge - X-Mass Alone Underground Dwarfs - True Mean Christmas (Freestyle Incl. With Santa) The Falcon - Speed Battle D & F - No Sleep 'Till X-Mass Bang Crosby - I'm Dreaming The Triplets - Marry X-Mazz Silverbells - Ring My Christmas Bells Sensor - Rudolf The Rednose Ravedeer Claus S - Family X-Mass X-Mass Raver - Hallelujah Scarface - Santawaus It isn't looking great, does it? Just looking at the tracklist, you know there's going to be some cheese in it. And trust me when I say, there's cheese AND a lot of Christmas glitter sprinkled over all the songs. But you know me, I love a bit of cheese. And this CD has been with me for many years. I still own it, not physically, but digitally. Threw away all my CDs about 7 years ago, as my cars didn't have a CD player, so what was the point. Burned them all onto a hard drive, and rediscovered this CD a few weeks ago. And we are going into the festive season, so why not give this yet another listen? It is a bad CD, but oh so funny. I couldn't imagine it being played at a major rave nowadays, like Thunderdome or Masters Of Hardcore. It just wouldn't be right. But for little parties, which are focussed on the festive season, it would work. And it could be a guilty pleasure thing: driving in your car, listening to Hardcore/Gabber Christmas songs. As this was still the early years of Hardcore, it feels slightly unpolished. Rough and raw. But as niche as it is, I do like it. Especially 'The Magic Sack'. That's a true Christmas banger. Worst one? 'I'm Dreaming'. But they are all as good and as bad as each other. It is difficult to describe it, but it's weird to listen to this one. It's a funny CD. Fun to have. Not valuable or cherished, but surely entertaining. It's something different, and maybe slightly better than the Thunderdome Christmas CDs. The best of the worst. Couldn't make it up, really! • Keeping it Ardcore 3 (2025)

Saturday. For many the time to get ready for a night out. I'm not. It's too damn cold, and had to get the house ready for Christmas. The tree had already been set up last week, but that was such an ordeal, we decided to split into two bits: tree last week, this week the rest. But as the weather was absolutely crap today, we left the outside bits for next week. And we also did not have enough batteries to make them all shine as bright, so that's for next week. But our house looks snazzy, after a bit of a cleaning and redecorating session. All thanks to me and the missus. And secretly some Hardcore too. Not the Dutch Hardcore, but some lovely UK Hardcore. The DJ Crossfire uploaded a mix a few days ago, and I've been all over this mix. Soundcloud doesn't show it unfortunately, but I have been listening to this vigorously. You don't see that many UK Hardcore mixes on Soundcloud, or maybe that's down to the algorithm? Who knows. But when I do spot one, I'm all over it. And it came with a tracklist, which is always an added bonus. And it's full of tracks I've not heard in a while. And within a second I felt a few years younger again, listening to those mixtapes. You remember those, right, or is that just me? I was a full on mixtape fanatic, and could not stop listening to them. And now I get the chance to relive those golden years again. And The DJ Crossfire picked some classic anthems, totally forgotten about. But oh so damn good to hear again. B.B.E. - 7 Days In 1 Week (Joey Riot Remix) Joey Riot feat Kelly C - The Power Within Darwin & Obie vs Mr E - Hits You Like Thunder Marc Smith - Gravity (Gammer's Ever So Slight Re-Edit) Marc Smith - Pump Up Da Noize 2010 DJ Pikey - Renegade Brisk & Stormtrooper - Feel The Friction Pikey vs Joey Riot - That Bouncy Track Sharkey & CLSM - Wicked MC (Marc Smith Remix) Darwin - Coral Beach Nu Foundation - In Kontrol (Bonkers Mix) Scott Brown - Viroid (Nu Foundation Remix) AMS - Greedy Bastards Kevin Energy & Marc Smith - That's The Hardcore (AMS Remix) Sharkey & Arkitech - Dual Illumination (Arkitech's HHC Remix) Be honest, how often do you hear these tracks, or when did you last encounter them? It must have been a while, right? It's nice to hear them again, they make me feel fuzzy on the inside. And that's exactly what I needed to hear. Those glorious UK Hardcore anthems again. Yes, this page has been focussed on other genres lately, but every so often I do love to go back to the main reason I started blogging: to share the love I have for UK Hardcore. And unfortunately my love has not transferred to others in the Netherlands (I lived there when I started blogging). So I still feel blessed, honoured, and yet disappointed that this kind of music did not take off. Such a shame. The DJ Crossfire's selection is really great. So many beautiful records. But the one that makes me smile the most, is the most diverse track of them all, ''Coral Beach''. Leave it to Darwin to make something that represents the 90s, 00s, and the future. What a blinding record. I can only share my love and enthusiasm for this mix, like I've been doing for 15+ years. And I hope my love for UK Hardcore never dies. It would be such a waste, to loose the main reason I am The Crazy Dutchman. Keep those mixes coming, and make more 'mixtapes', please. More of this. • Iridium DJ Presents a Tribute to Sensation Black - November 2025

Oh, the good old days. I remember it extremely well. Most of it, at least. Mostly up until the moment I got wasted, and forgot everything that happened after. But when it comes to Sensation, I remember it all. Sensation 2002 White Edition was superb. I did go to that event, as the people I went with, weren't into the harder styles. I was (and still am), a bit bummed, as I really wanted to go to it. And the mystery surrounding Sensation Black got me even more hyped up after buying the CD. Boy, was Sensation Black not great, and wasn't the music freaking good? What became this well known and loved event, quickly grew in size. From the first edition in 2002, it held its name and legacy up until 2007, when it was announced it would undergo a small change, and would be called ''Black'' from that year onward. I don't really know why, or what the purpose was, but to me, the name change wasn't needed. I still consider Black to be part of the Sensation experience. It was only a thing until they pulled the plug in 2012. Sensation itself continued for a few more years, but Black was no more. I did love those CDs, and bought them up until the 2007 edition. After, it wasn't for me anymore. And the white editions, well, they changed too, and it became less of a thing for me. Which is seriously a shame, as I had a blast during those early Millennium years. As great as White was, the Black CDs were just astonishingly good, and had some memorable anthems on them. And you've guessed it: the mix you are about to listen to, contains some of the finest songs from those CDs. Mixed together by Iridium DJ! Sensation Black Intro Fierce Ruling Diva - Rubb It In (Raoul Luciano Remix) Benjamin Bates - Locked Up! (Tin Men Sensational Rework) X-press 2 - Smoke Machine Cirez D - Control Freak Mauro Picotto & Riccardo Ferri - New Time New Place System F - Dance Valley Theme 2001 Marco V - More Than A Life Away (Original Mix) Sander van Doorn - A.K.A. (Sander van Doorn Remix) Remy & Roland Klinkenberg - Till Ya Drop Mauro Picotto & Riccardo Ferri - Alchemist Marco V - Atlanta 02022002 Don Diablo - Anarchy (Don Diablo vs Meredith Mix) Marcel Woods - Static State (Original Mix) Armani & Ghost - Funk That Lambda - Hold On Tight (Kaylab & Reeloop Remix) DJ Frost - Poison (Grey & Frost Club Mix) E-Craig - The Beat Goes On (Sam Sharp Remix) Sa.Vee.Oh - Loop Hole (Original Mix) DJ Luna - Mindspace Tommy Pulse - Land Of The Lost Norman DJ - Go Back (DJ Session One 303 Remix) Essential-DJ-Team - Bad Boyz (Club Mix) Walt - Bring The Pain DJ Jorn - This Is Your Brain (Original Mix) Ultra Tech - Bel-E-Ve The Beholder & Max Enforcer - Pulse Protraction (Bitcrusher Mix) U-Turn - Dead End (Original Mix) Sensation - The Anthem 2002 (Dana Remix) What a tracklist. This takes me back 2 decades! The kids nowadays don't know what good music is, and how good the music was for us. This is just great, wholesome music. And music that could keep us away from our mobile phones, and raving throughout the night. Granted, drinks were a bit more affordable and so was the entry price, but still. Good and fun times. Got to catch the bull by the horns, and have to say the following: Iridium DJ, this is a Sensation Black focussed mix, right? What's happening with track number 7? Dance Valley theme? Lol. Not the same event! And to me, one of the worst anthems ever made. So bland, and the breakbeat segment in the middle just doesn't do it for me. Not a Sensation track, and not a great song overall. But everything else is. I've danced the night away with all these tunes, and have got fond memories with all of them. Those Black CDs ruled my Millennium years, and I have devoured them like never before. I've had multiple copies of them, as I ruined them by playing them over and over, and scratches took over. Tricky now, to determine my favourite record. ''Smoke Machine'' is such a great record, ''Control Freak'' has certainly got that darkness element I miss, ''Bring The Pain'' doesn't bring me any, ''The Anthem 2002'' one of Dana's best remixes, but ''Hold On Tight'', that has to be the best one in this mix. And an underrated song, to say the least. Sensation Black, like many other events organised by ID&T back in the day, holds a lot of memories, and I'm gutted those events disappeared. Time moves forward at such a tremendous pace, I cannot keep up anymore. Why is time moving forward? Couldn't we just go back to 2002-2007 and be dancing until the night fades into the early hours of the next day, and we all stumble back to our homes, with that beeping sound in our ears, and headaches for days? Boy, I miss the good old days. • Tranceformerz Presents Classic Trance Anthems Reworked (2025)

It is Tuesday, Trance Tuesday! Don't know if it is an official term, but if it isn't, I'll make it official. You've heard it here first. But what you might not have heard, is this brand spanking new mix by TranceAdikt. And the mix is filled with Trance classics, which I love, so that's always a bonus. But what could be even better, are the reworked versions of these classics. A few months ago I discovered a mix which contained similar tracks, and I really loved it. This reworked vibe, we need to keep it alive. Keep the classics alive and kicking, by reworking them! Obviously nothing can compete with the proper classics. That's just a statement you can rely on. Nothing is as good as those glorious anthems. But sometimes, a rework or remake, or even a remix, can make it sound even better. That's not always the case, as the original can be so damn good, nothing can top it. But it can elevate a record to an even higher level. And in rare occasions, it can even be a fantastic experience, to hear a rework that sounds better than the original. It is a rarity and it doesn't occur that often. But every so often you hear it, and you immediately prefer it over the well known record. This is a nice and gentle mix, with 15 records, of which you know the originals. But these are reworks you might have heard before. To be fair, I've not heard any of them before, so I went into this mix without any judgment. Going in blind, and was pleasantly surprised. Not the first mix I've encountered from TranceAdikt or the channel which posted this, TranceFormerz. But certainly one I was interested in, and so should you! Mauro Picotto - Komodo (Lilly Palmer Extended Mix) Tiesto - Lethal Industry (ALAT Remix) Armin van Buuren & Adam Beyer vs D-Shake - Techno Trance (Extended Mix) Svenson & Gielen x Nifra - The Beauty Of Silence (Extended Mix) Neal Scarborough - Madagascar (Sophie Sugar Remix) Ultra Shock - The Sound Of E (Jorn van Deynhoven Extended Remix) Insigma - Open Your Eyes (Asteroid Extended Remix) 4 Strings - Take Me Away (Arbe & Dann Rework) Motorcycle - As The Rush Comes (Tymo White Rework) Lange & The Morrighan - Follow Me (Sky Sound Bangin' Mix) Rank 1 - Airwave (Gaia-X Extended Remix) Hi-Gate - Pitchin' (Andy Newtz Newtralized Remix) Gouryella - Gouryella (Andy Newtz Newtralized Remix) Quench - Dreams (Nicholson's Extended Cathedral Remix) Zombie Nation - Kernkraft 400 (Ezequiel Lovera Rework) Wonderful mix. What a tracklist, one I wasn't expecting. And it takes you on a pleasant journey through the Trance classics selected by TranceAdikt. It's a nice selection. Great to hear on this cold and miserable Tuesday evening. And so many great memories are linked to the original versions. But we aren't talking about the originals, we are talking about the reworks. And they are great, really great. I don't think I've heard these songs before, so I was kind of baffled to hear them at first, but I've warmed up to them. Especially when I heard ''Dreams''. What a magical song. Love it. It builds up to a tremendous moment, when everything just comes together. Unfortunately it has got ''Kernkraft 400''. That's the only downside to this mix. Boy, do I dislike the original. That song is like the flu, it's everywhere, constantly. And it gets in my face a lot. When it was new, it was exciting and fun. Now it's just meh. And the rework isn't for me, as it reminds me too much of the original. A great mix nonetheless. Worth checking out, if you want to hear something familiar yet slightly different. Open your mind to something exciting, and this mix won't disappoint. • Revokez presents: An Ode To The Early Days Of Hardstyle (2025)

Last week, or the week before, an event took place in the Brabanthallen in 's Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands. The event is called ''Vroeger Was Alles Beter'', and it translates to something similar to ''things used to be beter back in the day''. Obviously referring to the music from the good old days. And I do wholeheartedly agree. Someone who went to this event, had a whale of a time, and decided to make a mix, to honour the early days of Hardstyle, as that seemed to be the main focus of the event. The one in question is Revokez, and his mix is one you have to listen to. I do love the early days, and have listened to many mixes over the years. And even when it wasn't early but the present day Hardstyle, I bought many albums, and been to a few raves. What Revokez mix did to me, was quite astonishing. It has opened my eyes, and made me realise that I'm not a freaking expert. The majority of songs used for this mix are complete unknowns to me. And here I am, thinking I knew at least 80% of the early Hardstyle anthems. I have to adjust my percentage, as there is a whole world out there I've not discovered, it turns out. But that's the great thing about these mixes, they do take you back, and realise what you know, and what you've missed. And I've missed a lot. Flipping heck, I should have bought more albums. But most of my money already went on music, and I couldn't get more, as I wasn't making millions of pounds a year. A simple petrol station attendant, that's all, so you can imagine what my income was. And most of it went on music. Life's different now, thankfully. Let's take a trip back in time, right now! Headhunterz & Wildstylez feat Villain - Stuck In Ur Head Tatact - Seiv Mai Nait Josh & Wesz - Overdrive O A-Lusion - Don't Wanna Know Adrenalize - Magical World D-Block & S-Te-Fan - Dreamers Of Dreamz Code Black - Brighter Day Josh & Wesz - Autumn Green Krusaders - Reinvented Low-E & Zero Sanity feat Maia - Crusade Max Enforcer & Waverider - Epic Second Identity - Atlantis Technoboy - Vanilla Sky DJ Phil Ty - Miami Belch (Polite Mix) Krusaders - Be My Guest Wasted Penguinz - Freedom Is Mine Second Identity - Live Without Existing Activator & Francesco Zeta - Fuoco E Fiamme The KGBs - Yerba Diabolika (TBY Mix) Activator & Doctor Zot - Un Disco Per L' estate Showtek feat MC Stretch - Freak Citizen - If I Say Stop Headhunterz - Aiming For Your Brain Fenix - Drug Collection (Coone Remix) Tatact - Taac! (Renato Mix) Showtek - Black 2008 Star Creatorz - Killzone (Hunter Remix) Dark Oscillators - Nobody Is Perfect Tatact - Your Body (Tatanka Remix) Showtek - Save The Day (DJ Yoeri In The Sky Mix) This sound just take me back so many years. Normally I would immediately go on Google and found out when a track was released, but I cannot bare the thought of finding out that time goes so damn quickly, and I've grown old. Grey hair is already appearing slowly, and my bones & muscles hurt whenever I get out of a chair. When this was hot, I was still young, no care in the world, and my body didn't ache. Times are different. Revokez's set is great. Currently I'm holding the top spot of most listens, and for good reason. I love me a good set, and this one keeps me on my toes. And again, it has amazed me of how little I know of the early Hardstyle scene. I thought I'd knew everything, but there still enough for me to discover. There are so many great songs in here, and out of the 30, I had to pick two, as they are both really great. ''Don't Wanna Know'' and 'Be My Guest''. Equally great records. They did make me stomp my feet harder (at home) and raise my hands higher than ever before. Which one is your favourite? Only love and appreciation for this mix. More of these please, and please dive deeper into the rich history of Hardstyle, like Revokez. These hidden gems need to be rediscovered again, brought back from the dead, or cleaned from the collection of dust. They need to be brought to the forefront, and if you do, it will make a lot of people happy, including yours truly! • DJ A.K. - 94-96 Happy Hardcore Mix PART 1 13.09.25

Last weekend, near where I live, there was this awesome event, held on a legendary street in Milton Keynes. V7 Saxon Street anyone? It had a killer line up and it would have been great going there, but I thought all tickets were sold out. I actually went to the MK Dons stadium next to where the party was held (not the stadium itself, the shopping area). We decided to go out, and have a nice meal at T.G.I. It felt weird, knowing that only a few feet away, thousands of ravers were dancing their arses off, and I'm sitting there, nibbling on some cheesy donuts. It was a good cheesy donut though, don't get me wrong. And you all know I love a bit of cheese. And when I think of cheese, I think of Happy Hardcore. But that's not a bad thing, it's a good thing. I love the happy music, and the happier it gets, the merrier I get. But there's a limit. Too cheesy makes me feel uncomfortable. DJ A.K. always plays the good stuff, and leaves the too cheesy stuff in his bin, where it belongs. Only the good stuff, and today's mix contains the good stuff. For this mix, he goes back to 1994 to 1996. And as the title suggests, the focus lies solely with Happy Hardcore. And that's what you'll get. An hour and 4 minutes of pure Happy Hardcore from these 2 wonderful years. Nothing could make me any happier today. It is a bit nips outside and inside, it's already getting dark, and I need to wake up early tomorrow morning. Not a pleasant few hours ahead, but at least the music is getting me through the day.... I hope! Oyasis - Incredible Bass (Slipmatt Remix) Jimmy J & Cru-L-T - Can't You See (S.E. Wicked Happy Hardcore mix! And to think I was super close to an event which only took place a few miles from where I live. Insane, right? And I could have been there, listening to this kind of music. The music I adore, and love. DJ A.K. has done it again. Another wicked mix, with some epic tunes. I can't believe it, he just keeps on our toes, and keeps us raving. The mix is great, and it takes me back to when I was a teenager, fully in love with Happy Hardcore. The whole world was into pop and emerging boy bands and girl bands, and I was into Happy Hardcore. I drove my parents mad, especially when a track contained a deep bass: it would tremble the house. Once, my dad got so angry, he walked into my bedroom, and without saying a word, he cut both speaker cords. No more music for me. I cannot pick one favourite, as there are too many. But I have to. ''Feel The Energy'' is the record for me. So happy, so cool, and underrated. It's got everything I want to hear in one record. DJ A.K.. If you've not come across this name before, go check out his Soundcloud page. As of writing this blog, he's got 550 mixes on there. So you'll have plenty to choose from, and many hours of pleasure! • Mark EG LIVE @ Westfest 2025 UK - The Last One

Mark EG and Westfest. They go hand in hand, right? And only a few days ago did Mark EG play at the last ever Westfest. Hence why the event was called ''The Last One''. Sold out, of course, for good reasons. But it also makes me sad. Why are all these events coming to an end? Why did Westfest had to end? They did end on a high note: sold out event, and a fantastic line-up. 20 years of Westfest has now come to an end. (insert emotional distress message here). I've never been, but I've had many tapes and CD packs, and found a lot of these sets on Soundcloud and YouTube over the years, and they've always sounded amazing. I'm always too damn late in getting tickets, or maybe just too damn lazy. I should have purchased tickets for this, as the line-up looked insane: Sub Focus, Gammer, Slipmatt, Hixxy, Mark EG, Joey Riot, SASASAS, Roni Size, Sub Zero, Hype, Hazard, Brockie, Dougal, Kutski, Scott Brown, Marc Smith, Evil Activities, Thera, Cally & Juice, Producer & Scorpio, Sharkey & Kevin Energy, and the list goes on and on. Mark EG's set was the first set I found, and it came with a tracklist. Which is obviously a great thing, as I do love a tracklist. And it's music only: no MCs or anyone else interfering with great music. And knowing Mark EG a bit: no interruption from him bouncing around the stage vigorously, or getting injured during a set. Just the music, and that's good enough for me. But what music? Well, these songs were picked for Mark EG's last ever set at Westfest! Not his last ever set, just his last at Westfest. Even after all these years, Mark EG surprised me. He keeps everyone on their toes, and gets us all raving. I wasn't there, but I'm raving in my house now, which is kind of similar, right? This mix certainly packs a punch. Leave that to Mark EG, to get the crowd all hyped up, and dancing like there's no tomorrow. His set contains a lot of the more obscure Acid-ic Techno anthems, and I truly like it a lot. You don't hear them that often, and we need that acidic sound more than ever. And I'm guessing that, if you were there, it was a very nice welcome, to hear Mark EG play these anthems. It is a great set. Powerful anthems. And it packs a punch. It has given me enough energy to get through this WFH day. He never disappoints. What is disappointing, is the fact that this is the last ever Westfest. Or are they just saying it, like Thunderdome did back in the day, but come back in a few years, because people are craving it a lot? Let's hope the future looks bright enough for Westfest. Maybe they will come back as Northfest, Eastfest, or Southfest? All bants aside, this is a good set. ''I Got Techno'' is my favourite song in this set. Which is yours? • '88 was great but '89 is mine (2011)

In 1989, I was 6. I heard of Rap and Hip Hop, but obviously the songs that appeared in the Dutch top 40 charts. The more obscure and rougher anthems did not appear on the charts. Pop music dominated everything in the 80s, and truth be told: as a kid you never listen to the lyrics, so I wouldn't have a clue what they were singing about. Only when I grew older did I understand the importance of Rap and Hip Hop. And of course how cool it is, as a genre. In 1989, the world of Hip Hop and Rap was different. Even House sounded different. I grew up listening to Pop music, and when Rap/Hip Hop did enter my life, I was hooked on it. I do believe it was around 1992 or 1993, and it was because my dad bought an album called 'Turn Up The Bass - Rap Volume 3'. And I freaking loved that CD. And much later, when his job took him all over the world (but especially the USA), he brought back some wicked albums. The ones you would not see in Europe. So it has always been in my life, since 1992. DJ Food made this mix 14 years ago, and it has had a lot of listens and comments. And I only discovered it a few days ago. I jumped on it, and wasn't disappointed. Again, in 1989 I was only 6, and not really into this music, but I caught up later in life. And I still love it. It was indeed a great year, and it spawned a lot of excellent tunes. And I bet you my life you will love them too. Tone Loc - On Fire (Remix) Gang Starr - Words I Manifest Chill Rob G - Court's In Session Beastie Boys - Hey Ladies Jungle Brothers - Jbeez Comin' Through Beastie Boys - Shadrach Beastie Boys - Shake Your Rump EPMD - Big Payback Ultramagnetics MCs - A Chorus Line Public Enemy - Fight The Power De La Soul - Say No Go (Say No Dope Mix) Most Wanted - Calm Down Hijack - Badman Is Robbin' Ice T - Lethal Weapon Twin Hype - Do It For The Crowd Jungle Brothers - Tribe Vibes Jungle Brothers - Beyond This World Cookie Crew - Born This Way Jungle Brothers - Good News Coming The D.O.C. - Portrait Of A Masterpiece Hijack - Doomsday Of Rap (Ice T Remix) De La Soul - Magic Number (123 Mix) Doug Lazy - Let It Roll Double Trouble & Rebel MC - Just Keep Rockin' This brings back memories. A lot of these records you don't hear on the radio. Maybe the radio DJs are too afraid to play good music? Or do I listen to the wrong radio stations? Obviously you love the music, and people are very passionate about its history, and it has given the world so many amazing rappers. And let's dive straight into that comment: I am not a fan of the Beastie Boys. All the other artists in this mix I do like, but the Beastie Boys' voices just annoy me. They might have moved a generation, but not me. I always find their voices unbearable, like they are constantly screaming, and that makes me very uncomfortable. I cannot listen to a BB song and enjoy it. Sorry. What I can enjoy, is music from De La Soul. ''Say No Go'' and ''Magic Number''. They are wicked anthems. Their voices do seem to work for me, their message appealing, but combine it with a wicked track, it just comes together nicely. De La Soul are the true winners to me. And 1989 was a wicked year for the world: we got these two awesome records. Imagine living in a world without 'Say No Go''. You can't. Besides the Beastie Boys songs, which I cannot approve of, it is a highly enjoyable mix. DJ Food made it worth our time. It has got some little mixing errors, but nothing to write home about. The only thing you should write home about, is the fact that 1989 is 36 years ago. And that's freakishly too long ago. It only feels like yesterday, right? And a mix would not be a finished product if it doesn't have the biggest hit of the 80s: ''Fight The Power''... Bring back Rap and Hip Hop from 1989. Much better than the current generation's music. Can't beat the classics, the oldschool! • Pulser Showcase Set (2025)

Monday has come and gone. What a horrendous day at work. So much to do, in so little time. And it being cold and miserable outside, that doesn't help either. I needed something to boost my spirit up, and I do believe I found the right mix for this boring and yet very eventful Monday. One I've been notified about, and I've been playing over and over. Another mix by bbtomie, and this time it is focussed on the producer we all know, Pulser. I don't know much about Pulser, I had to Google it. Not much info on Discogs, but what is on that site, is all the information I need. Turns out Pulser has been around for a few years, and a lot of his records have been heard by many, including yours truly. All the ones used for this mix I've encountered before, and for the first time ever, I can have an hour (and 11 minutes) of pure Pulser madness. Pure Pulser. Didn't know I needed it that much! I do love a vinyl mix, but what I love more, is a proper showcase mix. It gives you a glimpse in the wonderful world of the producer. And it's obviously great if it's filled with a mixture of the well known and the more obscure anthems. Or just awesome records. Whatever it is, it needs to be done correctly. And bbtomie has done it correctly. 71 minutes of pure Trance. What a blissful thing to hear! Pulser - Cloudwalking (2005 Remix) Pulser - My Religion En-Motion - Truth (Pulser Remix) Matt Darey feat Marcella Woods - Beautiful (Pulser Remix) Insigma - Open Your Eyes Firewall - Sincere (Pulser Mix) Pulser - Square One Jose Amnesia - The Eternal (Pulser Remix) Pulser - Point Of Impact The Olmec Heads - Spiritualised Pulser - Lightwave Pulser - Cloudwalking A short but very sweet tracklist. It doesn't need to be long, as long as it's good. And this is certainly that. I've thoroughly enjoyed this mix. I wasn't aware I needed to hear Pulser records more than I should. The tracks are solid, and actually extremely good. Sitting here, at home, listening to this. I couldn't ask for more, right? And this mix has been on repeat multiple times, and it has not become dull or boring. bbtomie's selection is really great. All 12 records are ace, but the one that stands out the most, is 'Sincere' by Firewall. What a build up! You are ascended into Heaven when you hear this song. Well, not only does that apply to this song, but to all songs in this mix, but with this song, you reach Heaven quicker. I've got no negative comments or feedback. If your Monday is going swimmingly, or not, you are sill going to enjoy this mix. Obviously the request to bbtomie, is to make more of these mixes. More showcase mixes, please! • Addict - Early Hardcore mix (2025)

If you are new to this page, you might not know that I'm a die hard Hardcore fanatic, since 1993. 32 years of Hardcore, that's a long time. But it is never too long if you truly believe and love the scene. And of course, you have to love the music, which I truly do. I cannot get enough of Hardcore. And have I got a nice mix for you all to listen to: a mix focussed on the early side of Hardcore. Not the really early stuff, the early 90s, but close enough. And also a brand spanking new track which commemorates the early work. Addict made a few mixes, and one of them is the current one you are about to listen to. It takes me back to the best days of Hardcore. You'll know what I'm talking about, once you have a look at the tracklist. Addict's mix contains the big songs you've heard and seen a million times, but they never become dull. They will remain powerful. Powerful enough to get all the ravers back onto the dancefloor and rave the night away, until the break of dawn. It's a nice mix of early and Millennium Hardcore. The late 90s were fantastic years. You have to agree with me. Addict picked a handful of records, made a very pleasant mix, and the result is what you are about to listen to. And he's gone all out: you'll know each artist, and you all know these records. If not, that's not a big deal: let this mix be your guide through the early years. And don't forget: there are other mixes out there too, for your pleasure and entertainment! Bodylotion - Make You Dance Masoko Solo - Pessa Pessa (Buzz Fuzz Mix) Buzz Fuzz - King Of The Beats Neophyte vs The Stunned Guys - Get This Motherfucker Paul Elstak - Play My Game Buzz Fuzz - Don't U Cry The Prophet - Big Boys Don't Cry Party Animals - Used & Abused (Amnesia Mix) The Stunned Guys & Darrien Kelly - Our Definition Of The Oldstyle DJ Lancinhouse & The Stunned Guys - Atmosfera The Masochist - No New Style? Mad-E-Fact - The Hustle Toni Salmonelli - Hey DJ Jappo & Lancinhouse - Exlxaxl DJ Jappo & Lancinhouse - Bring It Live DJ Promo & Solo - Psycho Style DJ Waxweazle vs DJ Promo - Fixxxed DJ Chosen Few - In Da Air Buzz Fuzz - Jealousy (Is A M.F.) DJ Dano - Starting Up Nosferatu & Tha Playah - Move As One Wonderful. The plethora of excellent songs in this mix. This shows to me how great the 90s were. And they will remain the best decade for Hardcore. Or was it the Millennium years? Oh, that's tricky. It is certainly not the current Hardcore sound. Ok, 00s first, then 90s, then 10s, and last 20s. There, I've said it. Addict's mix is an entertaining one. It's got the big anthems in here, like 'Exlxaxl'. 'Used & Abused', 'Big Boys Don't Cry', 'Make You Dance', and many more. Hit after hit, and they all make me very happy. But there are a few I just don't get. ''Bring It Live'' and ''In Da Air''. They've never been my favourite, and unfortunately they will never become my favourite records. They fade into obscurity compared to the other 19 big hitting anthems. They cannot compete, and certainly wouldn't be the records I want to hear on the dancefloor. Those are the records that make me want to visit the loo, or go for a drink. There are too many great records, but in this mix the one that gets me hyped the most, has to be 'Starting Up' by Dano. Brilliant record, and always takes me back to Thunderdome '96, the CD. What a monster anthem. Highly underrated. But let's not forget 'Move As One'. I only heard it a couple of days ago, in the Thunderdome trailer (for the upcoming event). Big anthem, and it does remind me of the glorious years. They should make more of these records, instead of the Uptempo nonsense. This is fantastic stuff. A great mix. Worth checking out. Trust me! • Darkcore & Doomcore Vinyl mix (2025)

Doomcore, Darkcore. Two names I've not heard in a while. I thought it was always just embraced under the Hardcore umbrella, but they certainly are different. I remember a time when artists such as Simon Underground, Miro, Marc Acardipane, and more would release songs that were slightly darker, gloomier, and rougher around the edges. And I freaking loved it. I remember listening to Simon Underground's set at Thunderdome a million times, and Miro's ''Heroes Of Hardcore'' mix, or even Marc Acardipane's mix. They were solid, and the songs fitted my mood extremely well. Smogler and Sketler made this mix a couple of days ago, and the focus lies solely with tracks that can be categorised in the Doomcore/Darkcore categories. I just love the darker side of it. It doesn't necessarily mean it is faster and more bass-heavy, but there's an element to each song which makes it sound darker. Way darker than anything else out there. It doesn't need much to make a track sound darker. Maybe the easiest way to explain it, is ''does it fit as a track in a post apocalyptic world''? If the answer is yes, then it works. When the aliens or the Terminators take over the world and we have to scavenge the Earth for food and water, while the bombs are dropping around us, and we are hunted like prey, this is the kind of music I picture being played by the aliens. Or is that just my imagination? 100% sure that the aliens or Terminators would LOVE Doomcore/Darkcore. Suits them extremely well. Thankfull the aliens haven't landed yet, so we can only imagine what the world would look like, but you could just close your eyes during this 2 hour long mix, and imagine. That scary world will become visible in your head, thanks to Smogler & Sketler. Frozen - Soul Saver The Chicken Farmer - Black Earth The Overlord - Master Of The Universe Fifth Era - Untitled Reign - Hall (Maximum Mix) Hypnotizer - Innocent Minds Miro - Purple Moon (Miro Remix) The Outside Agency - Metal Slug Fifth Era - Untitled Pilldriver - Apocalypse Never Dr. Macabre - Danse Macabre Zanthrax - My Project Miro - It's Like XTC Ear Terror DJ Team - Like This Catscan - Enemy On The Run Marshall Masters - World Evacuator Taciturne - Der Toten DJ Arjuna & Beyonder - Shoot That Motherfuck (Raising Hell Mix) Dr. Macabre - Kiri Kudashi PCP's Phuture Project - Escape From 2017 (The Theme) Mescalinum United - Jupiter Union Evidence - Black Light Der Kraft - Creator Of Sound The Ravenous - The Splinter Army Of Darkness - The Future Is Ours (DJ E-Rush Attack Mix) Lunatic Asylum - Seven Unknown Artist - Untitled Evidence - Resist Freez-E Style - Awake In Neo Tokyo Freeze - Chaos In Neo Tokyo (Projected Damage Mix) Negative Burn - Gates Of Hell !? French Connection & DJ Radium - Bio Hazard Bass Protectors - Hicked Pitch Comababy - Machines On E Fifth Era - Homo Homini Lupus Stickhead & Don Demon - Conquer The World This brings back so many wicked memories. I did love the Doomcore/Darkcore sound from around the Millennium, and out of all the Heroes Of Hardcore CDs released, I do have Miro & Marc Acardipane high on the list. Promo's mix is the best, followed by these two awesome producers. This is a fantastic mix with some dark songs. It's weird to say, but I grew up with these songs, and I have adored them since the first play, and will do until the day I die. These are just timeless anthems. Underrated, but highly appreciated by those that know them. So many records, so many memories. I do believe I know 80-85% of these records, but the one I heard that blew me away, was one of those records I did not know. 'Fifth Era - Untitled'. The one played around the 12 minute mark. Boy, does that make my car tremble?! It certainly does. Wicked track, never heard of Fifth Era, but I certainly know they exist, which is enough for me! A wicked mix. It does go a bit wonky, the recording, or is that just me? But besides the little hick-up, it's still an extremely enjoyable mix, focussed on a forgotten style. I could listen to this for hours in a row, and not be bored stiff. This is the best of my youth, without a shadow of a doubt. One final comment: if you end your mix with 'Conquer The World', that's just the way to do it. End of a high note. And a very deep bass. • Magdelayna's Trance Mancave Rave IX (2025)

I wasn't aware there is such a thing as the Trance mancave. I've heard of the term 'mancave', but I always thought it was a place men recede to, when they want to be left alone. But it seems that there's an actual Trance mancave, and I'm curious now. What would you find in there, besides massive speakers, stroboscopes, other lightning equipment, and some glowsticks? Anyone got any idea what it is you might find in such a cave? Would be interesting to visit one. At least we know it will be filled with excellent music. And it is by accident that I discovered this mix series. Magdelayna is the one who made this mix, and it's the ninth mix in the series. I've not discovered the others or had time to search through his channel to find them all, but I certainly will after I finish working today. But for now, let's dive into this edition. If you love Trance music, no need to look further. It's a nice mixture of everything, 'old' and new. 2 hours and 15 minutes long, and it will certainly keep you entertained. It is weird NOT to see my name on the list of people who listened to this mix the most, as I certainly have listened to it a lot. Certain tracks selected do bring me back to the golden years of Trance, and you'll quickly know which songs I'm talking about, after you had a look at the list below: Kate Bush vs Infusion - Running Up That Hill Holden & Thompson - Nothing (93 Returning Mix) Gabriel & Dresden - Tracking Treasure Down Gouryella - Ligaya (Ferry Corsten Mix) Katcha - Touched By God (4am With Pecker Mix) Karen Ramirez - Looking For Love (Trouser Enthusiast Joy Of Sex Mix) Hemstock & Jennings - The Passion (John O'Callaghan Mix) Klems - Area 101 Kamaya Painters - Endless Wave (Albion Mix) Kai Tracid - Your Own Reality (Tracid Mix) Klems - Binary Report Jan Johnston - Flesh (DJ Tiesto Mix) Hemstock & Jennings - Crimson Soil 2006 Gouryella - Tenshi Hurley & Todd - Sunstorm (DuMonde Remix) Headstrong - Close Your Eyes (Factoria Mix) John O'Callaghan - Big Sky (Agnelli & Nelson Mix) Ian van Dahl - Reason (Lange Remix) Giuseppe Ottaviani - Linking People A very nice tracklist, and a very nice mix. Magdelayna keeps everyone on their toes in his Trance mancave. Again, not sure what it is, but I'm intrigued. The mix starts off with a weird combination of artists. And I'm not 100% sure it's a track that I like. But it's certainly interesting. From that moment on, it's full steam ahead, Trance classic after another. And as previously stated, a bit of the 'old' and a bit of the new. The big names are all in here though, and it keeps us entertained throughout the 2+ hours. Few small and very minor mixing issues, but nothing to write home about. If smoothened out, it would be a very good mix. But what does make it excellent, are the two Gouryella songs. You cannot go wrong with Gouryella. Boy, did they make their songs timeless. Both songs are my favourite ones in this mix. If you are looking for an interesting mix, let this one take you on a journey. A journey to the mancave of our dreams. • Si Thompson - 20 Years Of 2005 UK Hardcore Mix (3-6-2025)

I will not accept it. I cannot believe nor do I want to believe that 2005, which was a great year for not just UK Hardcore music, has been 20 years ago. Where the frick has the time gone? Why is time moving so damn fast? 2005 feels like yesterday, but it certainly isn't. 20 years ago. I cannot believe it. That's just insane, and also very disturbing. 20 years went by in a blink of a eye. Before you know it, we look back at 2005 in 2045. My God, I'm getting old too darn quick. It was a fantastic year for UK Hardcore. So many great anthems were released. Si Thompson selected a handful for the first instalment of this mix (the second one is on his Soundcloud page too, if you want to hear more). A nice moment to travel back in time (20 years) and to relive it again. Life was so much better, and we had such an extraordinary amount of wicked producers who made timeless classics. It was a struggle to pick between the two mixes, but I thought the first one was the one to pick, as it was the first one I found. The second one has more Scott Brown songs in it, which obviously gets me even more hyped up, but first come, first serve. So this is the one you are about to listen to. But don't worry, you will not be disappointed. Maybe only because of the fact that it's freaking 20 years ago since these songs were released. I simply cannot believe it. Bass X - Hardcore Disco (Plus System Mix) DJ Seduction - Rock Ya Body Robbie Long & A.M.S. - Trigger Hardcore Robbie Long & Stormtrooper - Dopest DJ DJ Gammer - That's How I Roll DJ Seduction - Raise Your Hands (Sy & Unknown Remix) Nu Foundation - Hardcore Generation Seduction & Gammer - Put Ya Hands Up Nu Foundation - Taking My Time Scott Brown presents Plus System - Bassline Of The Century Seduction & Sy - The Devil Brisk & Ham - Gettin' High Amazing! How one mix can take you back in time that quickly. I feel young again. How young? Well, young enough that I would be able to rave all night, and not be extremely tired. And obviously walk around with less weight. Those 20 years have caused damage to my body lol. This has got so many wicked songs in it. Me being a massive Scott Brown fan, I obviously would choose his records over anyone else's, but in this case, I might do something I would not expect to do on this Saturday: I'm going for another song. And it's 'The Devil' by Seduction & Sy. This was, at the time, one of the most played songs in my collection of UK Hardcore CDs. And it is still a wicked anthem. One that reminds me of 90s Happy Hardcore. Such a solid anthem. Si Thompson made yet another wicked mix. One that might make you feel slightly old, but at the same time you should feel grateful to have lived through such a fantastic year. We've all experienced UK Hardcore in what has to be a fantastic year to be alive. 2005 UK Hardcore? Sign me up. I want to go back in time and relive that year over and over. And if this mix wasn't enough for you, check out the second mix. Maybe he will do a third mix? Who knows, only Si knows. • Tiësto Magik Tribute Mix (2025)

I have to start this review by stating that I've owned quite a lot of things Tiesto released during the late 90s and early 2000nd, but never actually bought/owned a Magik CD. I've heard of them and seen them in my local record store, but I never had the courage to purchase them. I seriously couldn't tell you why. Maybe because I bought lots of other CDs (not just Tiesto albums), and I thought that would suffice. I was wrong, oh so wrong. I know Tiesto won't read this blog, but if he does: I sincerely apologise for not buying these. I hope you can forgive me. Deep down inside, I don't think Tiesto is going to suffer financially after knowing I didn't purchase these albums. He's doing alright, I suppose. He's got a few pennies in the bank. And what he also has, is a wicked discography, including these Magik CDs. Again, I know of them, but never owned one. And I do believe I've missed out. Sean Furlong uploaded a mix a few days ago, which is a tribute to this CD series, and all the tracks are just banging. And I do mean this. The CD series didn't last that long. From 1997 until 2001. Not sure as to why? Maybe because in 2001 he started his own label, which was called Magik Muzik, and that title wasn't linked to the compilations anymore, but to the label. I'm guessing this, obviously. But a series like this one could have continued to the present day. Sean picked albums 3 til 7 and took some of his favourite records from these albums. And the result is an hour and a half of pure bliss. Trance euphoria. I couldn't wish for anything else. Ballroom - Come Along (Chrome Remix) Utah Saints - Lost Vagueness (Oliver Lieb's Main Mix) Schiller - Das Glockenspiel (Humate Remix) Airwave - Alone In The Dark (Original Mix) Chicane - Lost You Somewhere (Heliotropic Mix) Afterburn - North Pole Free Radical - Surreal (En-Motion Mix) Insigma - Open Our Eyes (Insigma Mix) M.I.K.E. - Sunrise At Palamos (Original Mix) Jan Johnson - Flesh (Tiesto Mix) Transa - Supernova (Original Mix) Oliver Lieb - Subraumstimulation (Main Mix) Tiesto - Flight 643 (Original Mix) Vincent De Moor - No Hesitation (Original Mix) Moogwai - Viola (Armin van Buuren Remix) Alibi - Eternity (Innercity Mix) Oh, the memories. Yes, I might not have owned the albums, but I still had CDs which contained these songs, so I'm fully aware of their existence. And I'm happy that I do. I could not imagine living in a world without Trance music. That must be one boring world, right? Sean has picked 16 amazing records. I still listen to them and finding them extraordinary. They've stood the test of time. The selection is really great, and it puts a smile on my face. Wouldn't you agree that these songs would get you stomping the floor and raising your hands harder and higher? Compare these to the present day Trance music, and they would not even have to compete. The Millennium years were the best. There are too many records in here. What I mean by that, is that there are too many great records in here. I love 'Sunrise At Palamos', I adore 'Subraumstimulation', I grew up with 'Flight 643' and raved the night to it, but 'Alone In The Dark' is just that one track that has outgrown the others, and is now on a different league. What a brilliant and timeless masterpiece. Sean's mix is dope. A brilliant tribute to Tiesto and his Magik CD series. Worth your time, trust me. We need more of these glorious Millennium Trance mixes. Life, and the music, it was all so much better back then. • Wildstylez Legacy Mix | The Sound of Hardstyle (2025)

Last Thursday I spotted a short video, in which a song was played. Not 100% sure where the video was taken, I quickly Shazam-ed the song, and it turned out to be a Wildstylez song. I got curious, looked at the video again in more detail, and found out it was the Closing Ritual/Ceremony from this year's Defqon.1. Normally I'm all over those videos, but for whatever reason, I missed this year's show. I watched it in full at work, and I can tell you that my day at work, which was the next day, takes forever, but not this one: this one went by like never before! My colleagues must have thought I was an idiot, bouncing up and down on my seat, nodding my head from side to side, and being quite bouncy in general. I know for a fact that the majority of the people I work with, aren't into anything harder style music. Which is a pity, but it is what it is. It makes me stand out, and I don't need to share what I love. It is mine, and no one else's. So the Defqon.1 show was on and the last song, which was Wildstylez, just blew me the fuck away. And it ignited a spark within me. As glorious as the set was, and how awesome 'Encore' is, I needed more Wildstylez. And of course I landed back onto my trusted page, Soundcloud. And one of the first mixes I spotted, I immediately saved, and today was the first day I listened to it. The Sound Of Hardstyle uploaded this mix roughly 9 months ago, and it's all about Wildstylez. As much as I know of the artist, I did not fully anticipate to see such a tremendous list, and for me to only then realise that his impact in the Hardstyle scene is way beyond the standard. This man is a musical genius! The tracks he has made have been fantastic, and ground breaking. The man is a phenomena, and more. I wasn't prepared for this mix, and how euphoric I currently feel. I want to hear this over and over, and more of this. More of this awesome Hardstyle! Wildstylez - Children Of Drums Headhunterz & Wildstylez vs Noisecontrollers - Tonight Alpha2 & Wildstylez - Breathe The Masochist - LDMF (Wildstylez Remix) Wildstylez feat Michael Jo - Colours Of The Night Wildstylez - Encore Wildstylez - No Time To Waste Wildstylez - Hero Wildstylez - A Complex Situation Wildstylez & Brennan Heart - Reputation Game Wildstylez - Push That Feeling Wildstylez feat Niels Geusebroek - King For A Day Wildstylez - Revenge Wildstylez - Roots Wildstylez - Phantom Beat Headhunterz & Wildstylez feat Villain - Stuck In Ur Head Wildstylez - Deeper Than The Ocean Wildstylez & Aftershock - Never Bring Us Down Wildstylez - Shadows Wildstylez & Isaac - Lost In Music Wildstylez & Sound Rush - Glorious Wildstylez & Sound Rush feat Ruby Prophet - Untameable Wildstylez feat KiFi - Into The Wild Wildstylez & Brennan Heart - Lose My Mind Wildstylez - Timeless Noisecontrollers - Venom (Wildstylez Remix) Ambassador Inc - Put This On YouTube (Wildstylez Remix) Wildstylez - Delay Distortion Wildstylez - Daydreamer Headhunterz, Wildstylez & Noisecontrollers - World Of Madness Wildstylez - Pleasure D-Block & S-Te-Fan & Wildstylez - The Human Soul Wildstylez & Noisecontrollers - Cats, Jet & Breaks Wildstylez & Noisecontrollers - Different Story Wildstylez - Single Sound Wildstylez - In & Out This is obviously NOT an hour long mix. Well, you could put 36 records in an hour, but that wouldn't do each song justice. You need each song to be played as long as possible. And the end result is a 2 hour and 20 minute long mix, all focussed on Wildstylez. I could not be any happier now. Defqon.1's set just made me want to hear this mix, and once I hear it, I was hooked yet again. I do not think I've encountered a full-on Wildstylez set before, but I'm glad that I did. The euphoria level during this mix went through the roof, and hasn't really gone down. From his early work to the present day, all is in here, and it is magnificent. He is certainly one of the greatest Hardstyle producers, and one who knows how to make excellent anthems. He has worked with some of the greatest in the scene, like Headhunterz, Noisecontrollers, Sound Rush, Brennan Heart, and more. And by that comment, I could split my favourite Wildstylez song into two camps: one solo, and one made with others. So, here goes: as a solo artist, I have to give it to 'Encore'. Pure banger that one. And as part of a trio: 'World of Madness'. You cannot beat such a classic. The Sound of Hardstyle delivered an awesome Hardstyle mix by one of the greatest producers ever. There are too many positive things to mention about these songs, so I won't. The only thing I will say is, for you to jump on this mix, and embrace the Wildstylez. Let his music engulf you, and take over your weekend (what's left of it!). I know for a fact that this will be on repeat today, tomorrow, and the next 12 days! • 100 kilo Maarten @ Twidl vs Houseveteranen 20/09/2025

100 Kilo Maarten. Don't know where I encountered him first. I'm guessing it was on a Thunderdome CD. I think it was the first Thunderdome CD released in 2005. I heard his 'Common Noise' and I was hooked. I did like that song a lot, and it's probably my favourite from that CD. But the name stuck with me, and over the years, I did hear his songs on varies occasions, and they always hit hard. His catalogue is interesting and full of awesome records, but I don't think I've ever heard a set by this man who's name resembles me a lot (my name is Martin and I'm actually a 100 kilogram in weight....). But I'm not as talented as 100 Kilo Maarten. He's much more talented than I'll ever be. And for the first time ever (I believe), it is time to listen to a 100 Kilo Maarten set. Recorded at Twidl vs Houseveteranen on the 20th of September of this year. I could not find any info related to this event, so I cannot comment on who played, where it was, etc. I can only comment on 100KM's set, which I've already devoured. This set ain't for the faintest of hearts. This is hard as hell. He goes and plays a wide variety of records, from different styles and genres. But they all stay true to the source: it needs to be hard as Hell. And 100KM delivers an awesome and very diverse set. It is a set that will either give you a headache (if you aren't into the harder styles), or will give you a lot of energy. And it's the latter for me. I'm now so pumped up, full of energy, I could run a marathon. But I simply cannot be arsed. Kucera - Brainrot Mickey Nox - Safire Green (Original Mix) Sour - Inac (Original Mix) CANCEL - Revolter (Original Mix) EAS - Guilt Free (Original Mix) 100 Kilo Maarten - We Always Do This (Ophidian Remix) The Silence - Age Of Steel Kilbourne - Sugarbee 100 Kilo Maarten - Dirty Low 100 Kilo Maarten - I Met The Devil Densha - Shifting Methods Sidephex - Natrium (100 Kilo Maarten Remix) Ophidian - Escape Densha - Monster (Marlen Delusional Faith Remix) 100 Kilo Maarten - Moeilijke Kick Gek SOVA - It's Time Kilbourne - Milkshake (Catscan Remix) Densha - A Sun That Never Rises (The Outside Agency Sunrise Remix) 100 Kilo Maarten - Severe Trauma Promo - Promo Bitch (Original Mix) Sidephex - War On Demand (100 Kilo Maarten Remix) 100 Kilo Maarten - I Don't Give A F uck Endymion, D-Fence - PSSY MTHRFCKRZ (Chaos Project & Sakyra Extended Remix) Catscan - Gravedigger (Extended Mix) Sigma 909 & Tripped - Blow Your Mind (Tripped Remix) Ophidian - Mananaggal Lenny Dee - Fuckin Hostile C.T.O. - What The Fuck (Original Mix) When you weren't expecting a mix to be this hard, this hits you. In your face. And it leaves you in pure pain and agony. But a mix could not hit me hard enough. The harder, the better. And 100KM does deliver an awesome set, full of new stuff, 'old' stuff, Hard Techno, Hardcore, Industrial, and so much more. This is as diverse as it can be. I've listened to this set over and over, and it does pack a punch. And it's full of energy. So many unheard of tracks are in here, and I love the fact that it's got a few 100 KM records in it too. I did not know I needed to hear more of him. Especially 'Moeilijke Kick Gek'. That kick is indeed difficult, but it goes through me like a knife through butter. I can feel this, deep down inside of my soul. Minimal, but effective. And that's how I love my music. You don't see sets like this one that often. So diverse, with a wide range of songs by different artists, all representing the harder styles. And I'm guessing that whoever went to this event and saw 100KM, you must have experienced a great set. I truly love it, and can't get enough of it. 100KM, as underground as he might be, he has gained a follower since 2005. 20 years later, his name still remains in my head, and remain in there for as long as I can remember.... • We've Still Got The Stamina [Records] (Round Three!) (2020)

Sunday evening, and I'm feeling a bit lost. Not physically, I know exactly where I am. And if needs must, I've got my trusted friend Google to tell me where I am. But I'm talking more mentally, and that's all down to me missing something so badly, it kind of hurts. Stamina Records, you might have heard or seen the name before on this little site, is a label I truly miss, and I keep going back to their Soundcloud page, to hear those little snippets again. You don't know you will miss something this much, until they are actually gone. And they are, unfortunately, gone... Freeform is still alive, but it has obviously lost a great label last year. Started back in 2011, and stopped in 2024. 13 amazing years, and so many awesome records. I'm now going through this phase in which I absorbed everything Trance related, and Freeform suits that extremely well. A bit of Trancey elements, but faster, and more vigorous. That's the best kind of Trance. Maybe that's why Freeform appealed to me? What I do know, is that the songs released on Stamina Records are truly awesome records, and they did appeal to me, more than anything else. Back in 2020, M@rt!n-J released a few mixes, all focussed on Stamina Records, and I only reviewed two out of the three mixes. I don't really know why I did that, but that was 2020. It's five years later, and I was in dire need of some Stamina Records. The most obvious choice is Soundcloud, and going to his page. He's got a few mixes dedicated (which I've already reviewed), but I needed something 'new'. The third instalment was the one I missed, the one that got away, until today. A.B - Awaken (Intro) A.B - Alright (Fracus & Darwin Remix) Gercore - Legacy Finnbarr - Hidden In The Light (A.B & Cyrax Remix) A.B & Kevin Energy - Samsara Kounta Kulture - Valhalla A.B - Kielo (Digital Commandos Remix) Kounta Kulture - Edge Of The Universe Digital Commandos - Angels With Filthy Souls Digital Commandos feat MC Cyx - Rockin Up The Mic A.B & Substanced - Injustice Transcend - Domination (A.B & Synthwulf Remix) A.B & Douglas - TIWWA Tamerax - I Got The Beeps Tamerax - PDS (WGS Instrumental) This takes me right back. Roughly 6 years old, still sounding awesome. They were all taken from 'The Best Of Stamina Records 2019', which is obviously a wicked compilation, and it also contained a mix by the man himself, DJ A.B . Couldn't wish for anything more, right? M@rt!n-J's selection is really great. Proper Freeform, just the way I like it. And I do miss it a lot. This sound isn't like anything else out there. Give me Freeform any day. It is a style you have to embrace, but once it has you, it won't let you go. It's a fantastic mix, with a sad note: Stamina Records ain't no more. But at least we've got the music, which you can all find on Beatport. I do urge you to have a look, and relive the past: I know for a fact that this label released only the best. And 2019 was a stunning year for Freeform. Just look at the tracks in this mix, just have a listen to them. Just freaking fantastic! I do love both Digital Commandos records a lot. I couldn't pick a favourite, they are both dope, and have this hint of the early Freeform sound. It's another fantastic mix I only discovered/re-discovered 5 years after it was plonked onto Soundcloud. But at least I'm not too late to the party.... • DJ Fer-D Vs Jason S - Unleashed hell (2025)

Storm Amy is currently creating a bit of chaos in the UK, and I'm guessing also in the Netherlands. She is certainly unleashing hell among us all. She blows, and she is causing devastation. Unnecessary, but she does what she wants. Not a great day to leave the house: it is best to stay in and remain safe. While remaining indoors, not getting wet and get blown away, let me remind you that there's a mix online you will appreciate, if you are into early Hardcore music. And kind of suits the current weather outside. It's a mix by Fer-D & Jason S. You would have definitely seen their names on this humble website. Not the first time I've encountered their names, but the first time they joined forces and made a fantastic mix together. Both have a undying love for Hardcore, and so do I. But they are more talented than I am. I cannot mix, not for love nor money. I'm talentless, but probably a bit more talented in the blogging side of life (I presume). Both came together to rekindle their love for the early Hardcore side of life, and decided to unleash hell. Not literally, but you know what I mean. They created a very cool mix, which contains a lot of forgotten gems. You know the ones: you don't hear them or see them that often. Not so much obscure as mostly forgotten, which is obviously a shame. We all grew up with these songs, but for whatever reason, they did not remain in the spotlight. But thanks to Fer-D & Jason S, we are reminded that they are still out there, waiting to receive the proper appreciation they deserve. See if you remember them all, and I want you to be honest: how many years ago did you last heard these songs? Jason S - Intro: Place Your Bets De-Viation Crew - De-State (Afterdark Mix) DJ Rope & Marco Bailey - Be Free (Wavesong Mix) 4Voice - Move Sperminator - No Woman Allowed (Men's Room Mix) Frankie Bones - We Can Do This (Brooklyn/Stormrave Mix) Tribal Force - Huga Chaka General Noise - Rotterdam Subway (Maurice Steenbergen Central Station Remix) Source Code - I'm Not A Number (Holy Noise Remix) Lenny Dee - Alpha 1 Sulfurex - Point Break DJ Bountyhunter - Short Circuit La Casa - Mutha F*cka House (Original Mix) The Ultimate Seduction - Ba Da Da Na Na Na (Rotterdam Mix) The Brain - Crasy One (Fucker Mix) English Muffin - You Should Have Been Smarter Yves DeRuyter - Calling Earth (DJ Gizmo Remix) Vitamin - Muffin' In Mokum Genlog - Revolution Wasting Program - Step Right Up Folks (Step One Mix) NIP Collective - Weekend Track Global Hardcore Source - Caveman Bass-D & King Matthew - The Witch The Salami Brothers - Wet Pizza (Mini-Salami Mix) 3 Steps Ahead - We Need Things That Make Us Go (Senna's Drive Mix) Omar Santana - Noise Dive DJ Skorp & DJ Pila - Mindcontroller George Vagas meets Mike D - Hyperdome (Heavens Version) Buzz Fuzz - Dreamgirl (Original Mix) Buzz Fuzz - The One Eyed Slut Jason S - Outro: It's Just Starting What a selection! This is great. So many unknown and forgotten anthems in here. It is always amazing to relive the 90s again, in such an awesome and wholesome way. Hardcore was great, and very experimental, and it gave us a wide range of tracks, with all a different sound to it. From the happier sounding songs to the harder and more darker songs. And to cram 29 into a 74 minute long mix, that's always very pleasant to hear. I think at least 90% of these songs I've not heard in a very long time. It's been a while. And sadly there's a track which I hoped I would have escaped from. Certainly a contender for one of the worst Hardcore songs ever made. Maybe it's because I'm not from Rotterdam, but 'Rotterdam Subway' isn't a great song. Kind of basic, and boring to the core. Hey, I did say they made some songs which were experimental. But this track never did anything to me. Which ones did? Well, 'Revolution'. Come on, what a beast of a track. And 'Weekend Track', another solid anthem. 'Dreamgirl' was such a dancefloor smasher. 'Short Circuit' still a ground-breaking anthem. And as difficult as it was, I pick 'Move' by 4Voice as my favourite. Which isn't technically speaking a Hardcore song, but one catchy and very memorable song. They should come together more often, Fer-D & Jason S. And as there are so many more great songs out there from the early Hardcore years, they must have a plethora of options: more mixes like this one please. Who can say no to the early Hardcore years? If you are saying no to it, please leave this page, and leave us gabbers alone. If you love Hardcore, you have to appreciate the early sound too. It's what made the current sound possible. Besides 'Rotterdam Subway', it has been a very pleasant journey. Storm Amy, you aren't the only one causing mayhem in my house. This mix is doing some serious damage too! • Trance Classics (Tiesto - Nyana Mix) 16.09.2025

Let's address the elephant in the room. The elephant being: I've never owned this CD. I've seen this in my local CD store (Van Leest and Free Record Shop, and let's not forget Satisfaction Records, all located in Heerlen, Limburg), but I never picked it up, walked to the till, and bought it. I've owned many Tiesto CDs, but never this one. And I have absolutely no clue as to why I never put down the pennies for this one. This one has slipped away from me, which is kind of a pity. But I'm not afraid, as the world is our oyster, and the internet a useful tool. One which gives us the opportunity to listen to music shared with us. The Soundcloud channel 'Legacy Trance' uploaded this mix 13 days ago, and I've been all over it. I'm currently holding the top spot, the most amount of plays. And I will remain at the top, as this is one dope as mix. 3 hours long, but worth every second. I know time is precious and it's not always easy to find the time, but you have to make sure you find the time for this mix. For crying out loud, it's a proper Trance mix, and the songs did appear on a Tiesto album. What more is there to say? I've been on this mad Trance train the last couple of weeks, and I'm loving it. Going back in time, and in style. Today's mix is no exception. It's not the actual CD just plonked onto Soundcloud, this is Legacy Trance's take on the CD. Taken all the tracks (well, most of them), and mixed them in their order. The result? A three hour long mix with some fantastic records from 2003. That's 22 years ago, if you think about it. And some are just beyond classics: they have become timeless anthems. Which ones, I might hear you say. Well, these: Reinhardt Voigt - Supertiel Tom Mangan - Chutney (Size 9 Reinterpretation) Young Parisian - U Write The Rules (Solarstone Remix) Solarstone feat Sirocco - Destination Filterheadz feat Orange 3 - In Your Eyes (Blue Mix) Leama - Requiem For A Dream (Leama's Dream Mix) Holden & Thompson - Nothing (93 Returning Mix) The Roc Project feat Tina Arena - Never (Tiesto Remix) Smart System - Morgentau (Spring Mix) Planisphere - Totem Andain - Beautiful Things (Gabriel & Dresden Unplugged Mix) Tiesto & Junkie XL - Obsession (Frank Biazzi Remix) Mr Sam & Fred Baker - Forever Waiting The Roc Project feat Tina Arena - Never (Filterheadz Love Tina Remix) Motorcycle - As The Rush Comes (Gabriel & Dresden Sweeping Strings Mix) Catcher - Destiny Sunrise Cor Fijneman feat Jan Johnson - Venus (Meant To Be Your Lover) (Tiesto Remix) Conjure One feat Sinead O'Connor - Tears From The Moon (Tiesto In Search Of Sunrise Remix) The Ambush - Acapulco Midway - Inca DJ Ton T.B. - Electronic Malfunction GTR - Mistral Solid Globe - North Pole Tiesto - Nyana The Gift - Love Angel Solar Factor - Urban Shakedown P.O.S. - Remember Darren Tate & Jono Grant - Let The Light Shine In What a tracklist! This is a true trip down memory lane. Yes, I might not have had the actual CD, but I have still heard these songs in other mixes and /or on other albums. This is certainly a mix I've put on repeat for days on end, and will continue to do so, for days to come. Legacy Trance picked a wonderful album, and the tracks on it are great too. The tempo might be a bit 'slower' at the beginning, but it picks up later in the mix. Especially when two of my favourite songs are played. 'North Pole' and 'Urban Shakedown'. Two definite classics, but truth be told: this mix is full of classics. 'As The Rush Comes' a true dancefloor smasher, ' Venus' another epic anthem, 'Electronic Malfunction' a hidden gem, and the list goes on. The mix has a nice flow to it. Legacy Trance certainly picked some amazing anthems. And to realise that they are at least 22 years old. Old. but still extremely powerful. Tiesto released some really cool albums back in the day, and I still can't believe I never had the pleasure to hear this. Or have I? I had thousands of albums, and I'm 99% sure I never owned this one. But my memory, it gets a little bit cloudy over the years... I've only got love and admiration for this mix. I hope Legacy Trance will release more of these mixes. Interesting, and it certainly revitalises my love for the Millennium Trance. Like I needed more persuasion to embrace it more. I grew up with it, and have embraced it. And now, I can't live without it! • Ferry Corsten - Live At Innercity - Amsterdam RAI (1999)

Innercity. An event I truly miss. Not many people might remember it, but it was legendary. It came out of nowhere in 1999, and stayed with us until 2006. They decided to end the concept, as it wasn't making any returns toward the end. It wasn't profitable, and I do believe it didn't sell out. Which is truly a pity, as the one I remember the most, the one that took place on the 30th of December 2000, was probably one of the best events I've ever been to. It was memorable, that's for sure. But what made me go to Innercity? Well, it was because of two CDs I purchased in 1999. I think I purchased Ferry Corsten's CD first, and then Tiesto. I did loose Tiesto's CD over the years, which wasn't a pity. As Ferry's CD was certainly much better. I kept that CD for years, and played it wherever I was. Such a banger of a CD, and I think that persuaded me to buy a ticket for the event that took place in December the following year. And I'm grateful that I did. Tiesto started the series, with his recording from the 20th of February of 1999, and Ferry followed. Many CDs would be released after, but they would never be 'live' CDs. I still liked them a lot, but yeah, toward the end, the music changed, and it wasn't my thing anymore. I think the last one I purchased has a rainbow colour theme? Was it the 2005 CD? I can't remember. It wasn't the Trance event we all grew up with. But we had Trance Energy instead, which was great too... until they pulled the plug on that later on... It is still a very memorable set, and Ferry's selection of records have stood the test of time. They are glorious. Boy, do I miss this Millennium sound Trance anthems. They don't make them like they used to, right? Rank 1 - Airwave Vimana - We Came Luis Paris - Incantation Gouryella - Walhalla Der Dritte Raum - Hale Bopp (Nick Warren & Starecase's Jackdaw Mix) DJ Jan - X-Santo (Transa Remix) Kamaya Painters - Cryptomnesia Chakra - Love Shines Through The Digital Blonde - Electra Starparty - I'm In Love (Ferry Corsten & Robert Smit Remix) Force Majeure - Redemption (The Thrillseekers Redeemed Mix) The Rapid Eye - Alderaan Jon Vesta - Gull Soundcheck - Mindrive L.S.G. - I'm Not Existing Solar Stone - Seven Cities (Solar Stone's Atlantis Mix) Wow, another trip down memory lane. Boy, does this make me happy. Glorious late 90s Trance anthems. Who is going to say no to that, right? Such a fantastic list, and the tracks are still extremely solid. You might have owned this CD, like yours truly, and you might notice that there are remix titles on here. Well, it turns out (after a quick Discogs check) that they never added them to the CD. The actual titles excluded the remix titles, which seems odd. But those were the days. They probably thought to release it as soon as time permits, and to reduce additional printing, let's leave the full title off. Just the artist and the song title. Who cares who made the remix? Well, I do. But the CD. Well, it's a fantastic CD. Innercity would become this fantastic event, and Ferry Corsten became even bigger than before. Not just a household name in the Netherlands, but globally. We all craved for more Ferry, and the years that followed, he certainly didn't disappoint us. Obviously Innercity gave us the biggest DJ and producer of all time. But I question this. From a producing point of view, I prefer Ferry. A fantastic CD, and so many great memories linked to it. And to start with 'Airwave', you can't go wrong. You know you've got a splendid hour or so ahead of you. And it's hit after hit. The one that I remember the most, is Vimana's ''We Came''. Such an underrated Trance classic. Yes, ''Gouryella'' is a masterpiece, and ''I'm In Love'' is also a smashing song, and let's not forget ''Seven Cities'', but ''We Came'' is beyond them all. 8 years later they would pull the plug. But 26 years later I am still talking about Innercity. One event series close to my heart. ID&T was thinking of revising it all, but 19 years after their last event... I don't think it's going to happen. Which is a shame. Well, at least we've got this CD. And all the fantastic memories linked to them. And obviously Innercity 2000 for me. The most pleasant memory of them all! • Iridium DJ Presents The Foundation of Hardstyle - The Qlubtempo Era - 2025

Qlubtempo. I do recognise the name and its legacy, but I've never been to an event. It was mainly held at the Hemkade in Zaandam, which is a bit far out for this boy from Heerlen, Limburg, who had no friends who loved harder sounding styles, like Hard House and Hardstyle. Just me, and no mode of transportation back in the day. Well, I could have used the NS (trains), but to go on my own? Already did Mysteryland on my own, bit too much, if you ask me. We had our local events, but they obviously weren't near as good as Qlubtempo. It was legendary. And also kind of the birthplace of Q-Dance. You might have heard of this little organisation? Qlubtempo was unique, as it gave this nearly formed style called Hardstyle the opportunity to progress into one of the biggest sounds in the world. And of course did this event give Q-Dance (then called Qlass Elite) the movement it needed, to become bigger, bolder, and better. All because of this legendary name, Qlubtempo. The lifespan of Qlubtempo was short. The first event was held on the 24th of February 2001, and the last on the 13th of October 2007. It is kind of a shame that they let things disappear, but if it has runs its course, it's the most logical thing to do. As said before, I've not been to Qlubtempo, but I do remember seeing the flyers everywhere, even in my little town. And I do still own my school agenda, which has got a small flyer in it. Full circle, right? I don't think there were any CDs, like what they do with most events, such as Decibel, Mysteryland, Thunderdome, Qlimax, and more. But the DJ who made this mix, selected 19 records, and those records reminded him the most of Qlubtempo and the early Hardstyle years. And his comment ''nothing can beat that specific sound'' resonates with me. This is Hardstyle in its earliest form. And that's when I fell in love with it too! Brain Ovulation - Kicks & Bass (Acid Step Mix) Warmduscher - 10 Kleine Bassdrums (Pille Palle Mix) CJ Ash - Machines (Ultrasonic Remix) Cherry Dee - The Drums (Original Mix) The Beholder - Frequency Attack K.A.M. - Frequency (Direct Mix) Gollum & DJ Yanny - Shithead (Original Mix) Arne L2 - Rest In Peace (R.I.P) Trance Generators - Never In Danger (Y.O.M.C. Remix) Kenji Ogura feat Melanie Di Tria - Kreissage (Typ A) Pro-Tech - Out Of Control (DJ Wag Club Mix) Tankis & Savietto - Octopus (Lost In Case Remix) Bison Meets The Quakers - I Got Tonight (Original Mix) Blutonium Boy - Brainshooter (Club Mix) Klinisch Tot - Klinisch Tot (Wiederbelebungs Mix) Poeppelbaum & Helmedach - 25.17 (2nd Club Mix) Unit 4 - Relax Nitro Man - Indian Rave Technoboy - Hardrive (Lesson 2) This gives me goosebumps. This is a trip down memory lane. Iridium DJ selected some serious anthems from the golden years of Hardstyle. And this sound, you don't hear anymore. So unique, so Millennium years, so amazing. Why did we choose the current Hardstyle sound over this? Why didn't this last as long as it should have been? Bring this sound back, and bring it back NOW! What a trip down memory lane. So many fantastic anthems from a forgotten era. And to think that Qlubtempo was at the beginning of all of this. Insane, right? The birthplace of Hardstyle, the platform it needed to become big. I've owned these songs during the Millennium years, and I've listened to them a lot. I can dream them. So good were they, they've stuck with me, years after I last listened to them. And yes, they might sound a bit dated, but that's what makes it great. The nostalgia factor is great here. It was influenced by many other genres and styles, so you can hear a bit of Hardcore, Hard House, Techno, and more. No one knew that it was to become such a popular sound, one that took over the world! But it all had to start somewhere. And Qlubtempo could have been the birthplace. Where would we have been without it? And what would we have done without ''Out Of Control''? What a banger! Still a certified club banger! I've never been, and now my chances are out of the window. 18 years ago since the last event. I missed it. I should have gone, regardless if I had friends or not. But you can't turn back the time. Only remember the good old days (if you experienced them). And to me, the early Hardstyle sound, always brings a smile on my face. Nothing sounded like it, and nothing today sounds like it. • Trance Classics Reworked 002 (2025)

Saturday afternoon. It supposed to be raining and be windy today, but it turns out, it was actually a very pleasant day. Did some lovely gardening, and went out shopping. No wind, no rain, only sunshine. It won't last forever, and we are to expect some shitty weather to hit our way. But for now, let's embrace the last bits of Summer and the sunshine. Obviously it doesn't look as great as the image selected for this mix by Andresen, as I'm missing a beach, the sea, drinks, a sun lounger, a hat, and a magazine. And of course the location it was taken. It's probably hundreds of miles away from the UK, where the weather is always better.... I've been riding the Trance ride for a few weeks now, and I'm really enjoying it. The more, the merrier. I could not resist a Trance mix, even if I could. I wouldn't want to do that. But when it comes to Trance, it is always great to hear the classics, but what can be perceived as something even better, is to hear versions of those classics, which are even better than the original. That's the sole meaning behind Andresen's mix. The classics, reworked. It's a fantastic concept, and it turns out, it works. I've heard many mixes over the years, and I do believe that this one has been on repeat the most. The tracks are strong, and their versions of these classics are just powerful. Some are even better than the original. That doesn't happen that often in general, but it seems that Andresen, who made this mix, found 16 tracks so damn good, I would class them as better version of the well known classics. And they are well known, trust me. How known? Just have a look at this list: Solarstone - Solarcoaster (Marsh Remix) Chicane - Offshore (Grum Remix) Duderstadt - Muhanjala (Dylhen Remix) BT - Mercury & Solace (Helsloot Remix) Orbital - Belfast (Yotto Remix) Karen Overtron - Your Loving Arms (Jose Amnesia Remix) Paul van Dyk - For An Angel (Kolonie Remix) Dirty South & Ferry Corsten - Carte Blanche Faithless - Not Going Home (Eric Prydz Remix) Agnelli & Nelson - Hudson Street (Paul Arcane Remix) Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar (Paul van Dyk's XOXO Remix) Delerium feat Sarah McLachlan - Silence (AVIRA Remix) The Blizzard - Kalopsia (Matt Fax Remix) Vincent De Moor - Fly Away (KhoMa Remix) Rapid Eye - Circa- Forever (Markus Schulz Down The Rabbit Hole Remix) Rank 1 - Airwave (Giuseppe Ottaviani Remix) Wonderful. Obviously I am well aware of the classics, and so should you, but the majority of these tracks I've never encountered before. You know, those reworks. And I wasn't ready for this mix. I've had this on repeat for days, and it's been a pleasant journey throughout. And it's been on a journey: when going to work, this has been on. And for good reasons. This is a fantastic mix. I've been following Andresen for a while, but don't think I had the opportunity to review a mix. But this one certainly sets the tone. A fantastic mix, GREAT songs. And I'm not kidding. You will hear records in a different way, under a different light, and you will wholeheartedly appreciate these reworks. And if not, please leave this site right now. Normally I would point out the best record in this mix, but now I will point out an earworm. If you aren't familiar with that term: it's a song that remains in your head for hours and/or days. ''Not Going Home'' is just that track. My God, did Eric Prydz make the perfect remix of that song. It isn't the best song in this mix. It's certainly catchy AF, but not the best. I've got to give it to ''Mercury & Solace'' by BT, remixed by Helsloot. Wonderful track. Original is great, but this one just hits hard. More of these rework mixes please, Andresen. I am currently the number 1 fan, and I will remain at the top for a while. Bring back the classics, but with a slight twist. And that twist is exactly what I needed to hear right now. It's getting dark and a bit nippier. Time to turn up the volume and let this mix heat me up! • Matheus - Trance Classix 002 - Vinyl Mix (2025)

The last couple of days have been a bit weird. Back to work after a lovely holiday, and yet I had to have the car service, and on Thursday it's going to a body shop to have repairs carried out after an accident I had. And I'm sitting at home, tanned arms and face, already sitting in a hoodie and trousers. Long trousers. To protect my body from the colder temperatures. The only thing that might keep me warm during the day, is music. And I've got something nice and cosy for you all today! Before I went on holiday, I did find three mixes in a row, by someone called Matheus. All focussed on classic Trance, so I had to favourite them, and listen to them at a later stage. I've reached that stage now, so I'm listening to the second instalment of the three mixes. Why not the first? Well, I do like to live on the edge, so I've gone right in the middle. And why not? Who gives a crap? As the title mentions, this is a vinyl only mix. That's great, love a bit of vinyl. But the main star of the show is of course the tracks selected by Matheus. Are they any good? Well, I have to say that they are. All were released during the first half of the Millennium years, and you know it when I say that, those were the best years for Trance. Come on, nothing can beat those wonderful anthems. But which anthems, I hear you asking? Well, are you ready for the tracklist? P.O.S. - Gravity (Arksun's Voyage Mix) Morpheus - Signs (Original Mix) Rapid Eye - Stealing Beauty (R.E. Mix) Mono - Rise (Smith & Pledger Mix) Nitromethane - Time To Die (Seraque Remix) Tranquillity Base - Razorfish (Above & Beyond Bangin' Remix) Modulation - Spirits (Cosmicman Remix) Robert Nickson - Spiral (Original Mix) Kyau vs Albert - Velvet Morning (Aalto Remix) Goldenscan - Only With You (Original Mix) A short but very satisfying tracklist. 10 tracks, roughly an hour long mix. What can go wrong? Well, absolutely nothing, that's for sure. Matheus has made 3 interesting mixes, but this one is the one which has my attention today. I might review the other ones at a later stage, or any newer ones, depending on if Matheus releases more mixes. But for now, all three are great, but this one hits the hardest. A few well known anthems, and a for more obscure anthems you don't hear that often. A nice selection of tracks, and they are certainly keeping me warm. Of course I had to pick Nitromethane's record 'Time To Die'. What a glorious anthem. Fantastic remix. This record just does it more than all the other ones. Still great records, the other 9, but this one just immediately takes me back to the early noughties. And it certainly embraces the sound from back in the day. A wonderful mix. Worth checking out. Check it all three, if you've got a few hours spare. Why not? Live on the edge, mate! • Where Art Thou Cyrax! [Mixed By M@rt!n-J] (2025)

Where are thou, Cyrax? That's a brilliant question to ask. What has happened to Cyrax? Who has seen Cyrax? It's been a long time since we've heard or seen anything from Cyrax, and it's too damn quiet. And his label, Energy Field, has been too damn quiet too. Since that label emerged, it had some amazing anthems released on it. We need more Energy Field, we need more Cyrax. Unfortunately his social media pages have been a tad quiet. Hopefully he's OK. When he launched his musical career, I started following him. He has released some amazing records, and 13 of them are found in this mix, made by DJ M@rt!n-J. According to the info on this mix, Cyrax is a self proclaimed model, businessman, author, DJ, and producer who also owns Energy Field record label. I can see that, him being a model. Businessman? Yes, sure. Author? That I don't know. But DJ and producer, hell yeah, of course I would, as since his first release I've been following him, He's been on the forefront of Freeform with these records. And over the years he's been working with well established names such as Transcend, Technikore, A.B, Arkitech, and he's made some astonishing remixes. He's a true Freeform pioneers, and unbeknownst to him, has he made one of the greatest Freeform anthems of all time. Yes, that's quite the statement, but he sure has. Obviously in this mix do we dive deeper into the rich history of Cyrax. And if this is your first time hearing the name Cyrax, don't you worry.... just embrace the name, let the music enter your soul, and embrace Freeform as it should be... Cyrax - You Know Where To Find Me A.B - This! (Transcend & Cyrax Disco Mode) A.B & Cyrax - Dark Matter Transcend & Cyrax - Follow Me Transcend & Cyrax - Insight Transcend & Cyrax - Breathe Again A.B & Cyrax - Binary Star Transcend & Cyrax - Lucia Finnbarr - Hidden In The Light (A.B & Cyrax Remix) Technikore & Cyrax - Difference Transcend & Cyrax - I'll Show You The Darkside Cyrax & Rikki Arkitech - Destroyer Of Worlds Cyrax & Rikki Arkitech - Tyrant What a wonderful tracklist. And you know it, I know each and every song. I've listened to these multiple times over the years. I'm one of the few who actually appreciated Freeform, and will devour anything that resembles this awesome music genre. It has to be said that Freeform is unfortunately under appreciated, which is seriously insane. How can we live in a world where this music exists, and we don't all love it? Trance with a kick. Who doesn't want to hear that? Who is actually interested in current day kiddie Trance? We need more of this, and we need it right now! This is Trance's younger but more established brother, which deserves more credit for what it is, and what it could become. Over the years I've said it multiple times, but I will reiterate it again: Stamina Records AND Energy Field are my favourite Freeform labels out there. Nothing can beat these labels. The tracks released on both labels are astonishing. The one track that embraces both labels and is probably my favourite Freeform track of all time, is ''This!''. I know the original version was released on Stamina Records, not sure if Transcend & Cyrax's Disco Mode was ever released? That track just brings out the best in me, and also the worst. The worst being that I cannot listen to this song with the volume on a low setting. It goes all the way up. Crank up the volume, and let everyone hear what I'm listening to. Fuck the world, this is the best of the best. Absolute monster of a track, and I still put it on repeat, hours in a row. I love this record. Truth be told, all 13 tracks are amazing. Cyrax' has certainly left an amazing impact in the Freeform scene. I wish he (and all the other producers) would get the credit for making heavenly music. This should take over the world, not the Uptempo/Frenchcore/''new'' Techno or anything the youngsters listen to. This is the shit, and we should embrace it. Freeform For Life. M@rt!n-J has made yet another epic mix. Keep them coming. But please make more ''Where Are Thou'' mixes for other Freeform producers/DJs who we all miss. We need them to know we truly appreciate their music, and hope it is revitalised. Cyrax, where are thou though? • Epic Trance - Vol. 1 (Vinyl Only) (2025)

We are back! After a short break, and a lovely few days in Malta, we are now back. And we are going to present to you more and more exciting mixes, starting off a new one made by bbtomie, and it was presented to me just as I was about to go on holiday, so I took the mix with me, and played it out loud on our lovely 4 star hotel, all inclusive (not bragging though). I was happy and content with the entertainment provided in the hotel, but it wasn't enough for me. I needed a bit more, and this was a nice and warm welcome to an already hot island. The weather was great, the food too, the people were just awesome, and our hotel room music was astonishing. What I mean by hotel room music, I mean this mix. It has been on repeat, and I am currently holding the top spot for the amount of plays. Of course I could not let this one slide, as it contains Trance music, and it contains the records you do not hear that often. And it's also on vinyl, which is another added bonus. bbtomie's mix does contain the right tracks for a summer holiday in Malta. I'm not kidding: the sun setting in the evening, sitting on the balcony, and just enjoying the sounds of the waves... and hearing this in the background. I felt like I was in paradise. Not sure if the other guests appreciated the music, but at least I wasn't kicked out of the hotel for being a nuisance. So I'm happy that I found this mix and it came with me to the wonderful Mediterranean island. You'll be pleased to see the tracklist, trust me. You certainly will be: Allegro - Moments In Love Digger - Church Of Ra Astura - Orion's Belt Randy Boyer & Hydroid - Strike Again Lemon & Einar K - Anticipation Will Holland - Roccata Marcos - Around In Circles (Part Two) Will Holland - Magicka (2004 Rework) John O'Callaghan presents Mannix - Mercury Sebastian Brandt - So Cold Dreas - Sonic Rush Artic Quest - Strings & Guitars Active Sight - Adrenalin Jon O'Bir - Ways And Means (Extended Mix) See, didn't I tell you that bbtomie used records you don't hear or see that often?! Was I lying? No, I certainly wasn't. You don't hear them that often, which is kind of a pity. They deserve the big stage, and more credit. As they are wonderful Trance anthems. No nonsense, pure nostalgia anthems. The selection is great, and it has brought a smile on my face. They are all quality anthems, And they've also made each sunset seem better, for a strange reason. I cannot describe what Trance does to me, but it only does good things to me. The selection is great, and when you hear Will Holland records, you know you are to experience heaven. 'Magicka' is such a monster anthem. And the way the track builds up, you don't hear that any more. Typical for Trance anthems from around 2004, but not for Trance anthems 21 years later. This kind of build up, and prolonging of the climax, that's just unheard of. A wonderful mix, and one I will keep playing for a while. It will certainly be in my top 10 of most played mixes of 2025, and whenever I think of my holiday in Malta, I will always smile, knowing I had this mix with me, entertaining me. And even my wife appreciated the mix, and she's very hard to please (music-wise, nothing else though!). Go and check this mix out! You won't be disappointed. • Happy Hardcore Full Collection (1995-1997)

Apologies for the poor image above, I'm not very skilled with Microsoft Paint. I tried my best, and hopefully you will get the meaning behind the image and the review. This is a review dedicated to the mighty and legendary Happy Hardcore CD series, released on Arcade, which only ran for 2 years, but has left a mark on the Hardcore history. The legendary Devils have been synonymous for anything Happy Hardcore related, like the Wizard become the logo for anything Thunderdome related, and the massive skull for the Masters of Hardcore brand. The devils have been around for 30 years now, and it's time to celebrate. Not only their 'birthday', but also mine. And on my birthday, I always go back to my roots, which is this majestic series. Obviously, because on the sixth album there is a song dedicated to everyone's birthday, but also because this series as a whole makes me happy. Happier than I could ever be. And it's time for it to receive a proper review, after so many years. As you can see, top right hand corner, the first in this series did not have the Devils portraited on the cover. Ben Liebrand actually designed the first one, but then the second one had to be created, and they decided to give it its own 'logo', or brand. Also, as you've noticed, there are only 7 Happy Hardcore CDs and one 'The Mix', but there were in total 9 CDs, so why not mentioned the 9th? Well, because it's a rarity. And I've never even seen it, or heard of it. It's that rare. And I didn't have room for the 8th on the image. Told you my Paint skills are crap. Happy Hardcore became back in 1994, and Arcade had to jump on this commercially successful and viable source of income, and created this short lived series. The first time I came into contact was when the second CD was released, in 1995. My mother never allowed me to have anything with 'Thunderdome' on the cover, so at least I was saved by the Devils on the cover. They looked innocent enough, and my mother fell for it. Once I discovered Happy Hardcore, I was sold. Those happy vibes suited me a lot, and during the mid 90s you could not escape those anthems. On the radio, on the TV, and even in the top 50! I was too young to go out clubbing, but at the school disco they did play it. Hell, I even forgot to mention the school agenda. Never owned it, as I was more focussed on Thunderdome, but I did see them. Difficult decisions to make: the Devils or the Wizard? What to walk with for roughly a year? The lifespan of this series was only 2 years, but I always assumed it was longer than that! They faded away into obscurity just before the Hardcore bubble burst. Maybe they knew the impending decline of Hardcore in general? Judging on the 8th and 9th CD in this series, they become single CD only (only 1 CD instead of 2), and the quality became less and less. Happy Hardcore 2 to 7, those were the best, without a shadow of a doubt. But what was on each CD? Check out the rear of the CDs, click on the image below for each tracklist: They were so influential to me, I still listen to them, 28-30 years since they were released. And I can dream each and every CD. I know exactly which song starts when, and when the beats kicks in, and more. Thunderdome and Happy Hardcore, two amazing CD series I have imprinted in my brain forever. Happy Hardcore was everywhere, and this wasn't the only series out there. There were many, trying to gain a few pennies out of it. It was everywhere, and commercially a massive thing. Some might say that it caused the downfall of Hardcore in general, and I do concur, to some level. Yes, you had your extremely crappy Happy anthems, which had no real affiliation with Happy Hardcore, but were just made to 'cash' in. But overall it was a wonderful scene with some talented producers and DJs. Even the big producers, the ones who made Hardcore, made some Happy Hardcore anthems. They might not look back in fondness, but I do believe they should. As the music was great. Each album had some absolute gems on it. And now the difficult task to note them all down. Here goes: Happy Hardcore CD 1 : Simon C - Fuck You Happy Hardcore CD 2 : DJ Weirdo & DJ Sim - Go Get Busy (Extended Rave Version) Happy Hardcore 2 CD 1 : Interactive - Who Is Elvis (Radio Rave '95 Mix) Happy Hardcore 2 CD 2 : Happy Toons - I Want You Happy Hardcore 3 CD 1 : Cixx - Ride To The Rhythm (Radio Mix) Happy Hardcore 3 CD 2 : Planoforce - Listen To Me Happy Hardcore 4 CD 1 : Cixx - Clap Your Hands Happy Hardcore 4 CD 2 : Eruption feat Katherine Woods - Let The Music Happy Hardcore 5 CD 1 : Mac Project - Everybody (Hard) Happy Hardcore 5 CD 2 : Bertocucci Feranzano & Toni Salmonelli - Daddy Snow (Original Version) Happy Hardcore 6 CD 1 : JDS - Higher Love (DJ Slipmatt Unreleased Edit) Happy Hardcore 6 CD 2 : Cixx - Gimme Da Dope Happy Hardcore 7 CD 1 : Cherrish - Confusion Happy Hardcore 7 CD 2 : Attaboy - For America (Hardcore Mix 2) Happy Hardcore 8 CD : Gian Pierro - Ready To Rave (Radio Mix) Happy Hardcore 9 CD : Dyewitness - We Are Observing The Earth Happy Hardcore School Agenda CD : No Velocity - Give Me Body Happy Hardcore The Mix CD : Justin Time - Help Me (Demo Mix) As you can see, I am not your 'standard' Happy Hardcore fan, I do actually love it and appreciate it. Would be interesting to find out which song you love? Go and check the tracklist out, and leave a comment below. I can imagine that there are people out there who detest this compilation series, and I truly understand it. But also understand that this brought a lot of people lots of memories, and actually the music ain't that bad, you know? Well, you had your crappy anthems, but they were on each compilation. Even the mighty Thunderdome had a lot of crap songs on it. Still made people happy though. If you grew up in a world where there was no Happy Hardcore, go and investigate. Not every CD is out there, but worth looking out for. Investigate what once was, and what we deeply miss. They don't make them like they used to. Maybe that's why I made the step to UKHC back in the early 2000nd? It came close to the Happy sound from the 90s. Who knows? Always happy, and remain happy. That's my philosophy. And this series meant a lot to me. It will never leave my sight. OK, number 1, 8, 9 and the School Agenda one can disappear. But 2 til 7, yeah, those are the cherished ones. Probably the best albums I've ever listened to. And that's high praise. If you were around in the 90s, you might have seen the 'Happy Rave' CDs, which were released in Germany. Basically the 'same' CD, but different title. And the numbering was off too. Weird. Shame it only lasted 2 years. But Arcade was ahead of the curve, the pending demise of Hardcore. Wish they would give it a proper send off instead of Happy Hardcore 8 & 9. But those were the days, and we cannot change what was. Only dream what could have been....

  • House Vol. 1 (2025)

Two mixes done already, third one on its way. This time it's a House mix by Dare Erickson. The previous two mixes I reviewed were more focussed on Breakbeat Hardcore, but this time we are going to delve into House music. One of the genres I grew up, and I truly adored House music. Yes, the 80s were ace, but the 90s House music (to me) just sounded better. And then the Millennium happened. Christ, did we get some awesome tunes? We sure did. The mix you are about to listen to, has records from 1996 to 2001, and everything in between. And yes, it contains only the biggest anthems. Is that a bad thing? Absolutely not, we do love the classics, the anthems that shook a generation, and got them dancing on the dancefloors all over the world. And Dare's selection does contain the big hits: you'll know what I'm talking about once you see the tracklist. Not always in the mood for House music, because sometimes it gets on my nerves a lot. Not every tune ever released is great, and not all tunes are awesome. It all depends, I believe. You need to be in the mood, and I'm certainly ready for it: a holiday is about to happen, and we desperately need it. It will be a pleasant journey to the Sun, sea, and hot weather. And of course will there be some nice tasty treats and beverages to keep us entertained. And I'm guessing, and I'm might be wrong, also some excellent tunes. Might even be any of these, who knows? Soulsearcher - Can't Get Enough David Morales - Needin' U (Original Mistake) Stardust - Music Sounds Better With You Superfunk - Lucky Star Cassius - 1999 Bob Sinclar - Feel For You Roger Sanchez - Another Chance Moloko - Sing It Back (Boris Musical Mix) Spiller - Groovejet (If This Ain't Love) Shakedown - At Night Tori Amos - Professional Widow (Armand's Star Trunk Funkin' Mix) Kings Of Tomorrow - Finally (Danny Tenaglia's Return To Paradise Mix) Yes, yes, yes. The classics. You know them all, and you love them all. We all grew up with these blasting at our ears during the late 90s and early 00s. They were everywhere, and you couldn't go to a party without hearing these at least once a night. They were everywhere: buy a compilation back in the day and they would certainly be on there. The memories. So many great memories. Being young, a teenager, dancing until the Sun came up again. And drinking a lot. Yes, I used to drink a lot, but not anymore. Whatever I did as a teenager, don't blame me: I was young, innocent, and somewhat stupid. At least I had the music to get me through, and it made me dance throughout my younger years. And car journeys were less arduous with these blasting through the speakers. Sun's out, windows rolled down, and these tunes were playing. Life was much better (and petrol was cheaper!). We hear these songs on a daily basis, but that's just how powerful they are. Timeless classics, and absolutely nothing wrong with them. I do love them all, but ''Needin' U'' is probably the anthem that got me dancing the hardest. What a classic, pure masterpiece. DareErickson's mix is great. At the right time, and I'm certainly going to listen to this on my holiday destination. You know it just feels right.
