  • Trance Classics (2021)

Let's end the working week with something mellow. Yes, the previous two reviews were OK, don't get me wrong, as they were more Hardstyle and Hip Hop-ish, I needed something to calm me down, and get me ready for the upcoming weekend. A weekend during which I am not going to do a lot. Hell, I might even do the opposite. Nothing. Sit down and do nothing. Just unwind, and think of what has happened during the week just gone by, and think of what's about to come: the next working week. But, think of the positives: it's one week closer to your retirement! I know, that sounds wrong. But let's make it all right! Let's focus on the mix, and you might wondering what kind of music is in this mix? Well, if you haven't spotted the massive 500 x 500 image above, you might need to go to Specsavers. But yeah, this is a mix by Trance Classics (the Soundcloud channel's name is just that), and it's filled with Trance classics. And you all are familiar with my love for classic Trance anthems, right? I do freaking love them. And without further ado, let me show you the actual tracklist. It's a 2 hour long mix, and only 21 records, so you know what that means: full length songs! And you know how much I adore those songs. Not those freakishly short radio edits: who wants to listen to those? It's an abomination, those radio edits. Shortening it down unnecessarily. Especially with Trance music, where the climatic moment can sometimes take minutes... and if it's not suitable for the radio, leave it off the radio! Don't shorten it. You need full length anthems to absorb the meaning and the reasoning behind this song. Ranting over. Now it's tracklist time! Kelly & Lee - Only You Robert Miles - Children (Tilts Courtyard Mix) Moonman - Galaxia (Solarstone Remix) The Thrillseekers - Synaesthesia (En-Motion Mix) Ralphie B - Massive Cygnus X - Superstring (Rank 1 Remix) Rank 1 - Airwave M.I.K.E. - Sunrise At Palamos Salt Tank - Eugina (Michael Woods Remix) Tiesto - Suburban Train Motorcycle - As The Rush Comes (Gabriel & Dresden Sweeping Strings Mix) Midway - Amazon Angelli & Nelson - Hudson Street Three Drives - Sunset On Ibiza Tiesto & Junkie XL - Obsessions (Frank Biazzi Mix) Bart Claessen - Playmo (First Play) Midway - Monkey Forrest Transa - Supernova Major League - Wonder Push - Universal Nation (Oliver Lieb Full Length Remix) Second Sun - Playground (Nu-NRG Remix) A glorious looking tracklist, with a lot of epic anthems. And most of these I had on discs, vinyl, or CD singles. Yes, I was one of those people. Way before the digital age, you could only purchase these songs in a physical form, be it on vinyl or CDs. No digital malarkey, just realness. And I just realised that it makes me sound extremely old. I love this mix. In a split second it takes me back to the good ol' days of Trance music. I was still young and didn't have grey hairs, and I fell in love instantly with it. It's been in my life for more than 25 years now, and it will never leave my side. And Trance Classics selection is truly amazing. The big hitters are in this mix. Don't believe me? Just read the responses to this mix on Soundcloud. It's already hitting big play numbers. And people are really happy with it. So am I. A nice and relaxing mix, and one that wants me to go back to the dance floors. I really need to get out more. A solid mix, and it's also downloadable. So if you are eager to listen to this, just go down below this review, and press play on the Soundcloud player. You will not be disappointed. Pleased is more the term you are looking for. Best record? 'Sunset On Ibiza'. No brainer. The only negative is the actual file size. Bloody Nora, 1.4 GB! • Turn Up The Bass - Rap - Volume 3 (1992)

My dad is going to hate me. Well, hate is a strong word. But he might dislike the following review. Why is that? Well, it's one of his albums that my mum bought him back in 1992/1993, and I stole it. Yes, I singlehandedly STOLE this album from him. Yes, I do admit, but he already knows, because from 1993 until 2019 I was in possession of this album. In the end I returned the album, but it was so damaged, there was no point anymore in saving it. I played this so much over the years, scratches took over and demolished the actual physical disc. Sorry dad, I do apologise. But, in the end, it's all your fault. You introduced me to the wonderful world of Rap music, and I got hooked. I was only 10 years old when this album came out. Too young to understand the importance of Rap music. And I was too young to grasp the impact it had on the world in general. I grew up listening to the beats and basses, melodies, yes, but never the lyrics. I am that silly to never listen to song lyrics. I only discovered last year that a Spice Girls song was about having sex. The same applied for many Hip Hop/Rap/R&B records. I always tried to sing along, but always, because I never know the words. Or the meaning of those words. Rap was an important style when I grew up. My dad had been to the US multiple times for his work, and during his visits, he would buy some Rap albums, and bring them back home. I don't know why Rap music was his thing back in the day, but I guess I'll never find out. And yes, I stole those albums too. Sorry pops. During the 80s, my favourite music was pop music. Like everyone else on this planet. But toward the end of the 80s you noticed a change in the music. It was to become a different landscape for the whole world. New styles emerged, and those that were already big in the underground, came out of the woodworks, and started to push pop music to the side. Rap music wasn't new, but it wasn't as big as it was to be, around the late 80s/early 90s. Before it was all smooth and very commercially friendly, but artists stood up, and had their voices heard. No more mister sweet guy or miss sweet lady, but messages coming from the street. Talking about problematic issues, things people would suffer with on a daily basis. No more romance. And the audience stood behind the messages. I do understand that music always has an important message hidden in each song. Some could be about racial issues, domestic violence, abuse, difference in gender, inequality, hatred, anger, love, and a plethora of other messages. Some were more obvious than others. Hip Hop was a new thing to tap into, and back in 1991, Arcade decided to release a new compilation series called 'Turn Up The Bass Rap'. It only spanned a year and four volumes, and then it died, like many of the other series created by Arcade. And to this day, the only one in this series ever listened to by yours truly, was the third one. But what songs were on this album? DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince - The Things That You Do Tony Scott - The Greenhouse Effect Digital Underground - No Nose Job Public Enemy - Fight The Power 2 Hyped Brothers & A Dog - Doo Doo Brown A Tribe Called Quest - Check The Rhime Big Daddy Kane - The Lover In You De La Soul - A Roller Skating Jam Named Saturdays Jungle Brothers - Doin' Our Own Dang King Bee - Must Be The Music Chubb Rock - The Chubbster Queen Latifah - Fly Girl The Real Roxanne - (Bang Zoom) Let's Go Go Paris - Break The Grip Of Shame Fu-Schnickens - Ring The Alarm Rob Base & DJ E-Z Rock - Get On The Dance Floor Fast Eddie - Git On Up These are oldskool anthems. Really and truly oldskool anthems. And the second you start listening to each song, you are teleported back in time. Back to the late 80s/early 90s. And they have stood the test of time, but unfortunately they haven't gained a massive audience in the current climate we live in. It is a shame NOT to hear these songs on the radio anymore. It's like they were forgotten completely. Maybe some are too direct, maybe they are outdated, or maybe not suitable for the radio, but they deserve more credit for what they were. These artists broke many boundaries, and took Hip Hop music to the next level. You cannot underestimate the importance of a record like 'Fight The Power'. Hard hitting lyrics, and they were to move a generation towards a world where equality is a normal thing, and colour of someone's skin is an irrelevant thing. But unfortunately, back then, and sadly even in the present day, our fellow human being isn't treated equally. But these songs were made to address the issues that people were facing, and to have their voices heard. Otherwise no one would hear them, and acknowledge them. I do recognise the importance of these songs. But what also needs to be discussed is the importance of Arcade. This label was an important label in the Benelux, and they released thousands of CDs, and many series were created, including this one. They lost the plot further down the 90s, but during the early 90s they were ground breaking too. Probably more capitalism driven. a.k.a. money. The label died down completely, which is a shame. To me they were important, and I purchased everything Arcade related. This album wasn't the finest Hip Hop/Rap I have ever listened to, but it is still an important album to me. Especially because it was one of my dad's albums. And the music was great too. Some were rougher and tougher, and some were happier. Some were more grimier and darker, some were a bit house-focussed. Maybe if I had the first two albums and the fourth, I might have a different opinion, but yeah, this third one is OK. To me it's a valuable album because of the memories. Maybe to others this album means more due to the importance of the songs. I cannot find the album anywhere, only the video. The advert. Which makes it immediately outdated. So 90s. So old. But nostalgic to me. • Revokez presents: Best of Keltek (2023)

It's Friday, and let's end the working week with a new mix. One very powerful and energetic mix. You will appreciate this mix. And it's yet another mix made by Revokez, who's recent Thunderdome mix was appreciated well by yours truly. But now he's doing a special mix. A mix, focussed on one of the Hardstyle legends who goes by the name of Keltek. If you are questioning yourself 'who is Keltek?', then this mix might not be for you. Or maybe this could be an introduction of some sort, but you need to be honest with yourself: are you into Hardstyle? If it is, please proceed by clicking 'play' on the below player. If not, have a wonderful day, and please move away... So let's talk about this mix. It's a brilliant mix, with all tracks made or remixed by Keltek. You might know him from the early Psyko Punkz days, or you do not. That's all fine, but at least you acknowledged who he is. I was fully aware of Psyko Punkz, but to me Keltek came to my attention when he made Defqon.1 2019s official anthem, 'One Tribe'. What a beast of a track that was, and it made me want to hear more. But he's not been sitting still: he's been a very busy bee. A lot of his own records are in here, and also a few collaborations, like with Sound Rush, Devin Wild, Radical Redemption, and more. Be prepared for some melodic and very euphoric Hardstyle anthems. It's going to be a good experience, if you've not heard of Keltek before. Revokez has done some appreciation mixes before, and this one was bound to happen. You cannot talk about the greats in Hardstyle and not mention Keltek. Keltek - Dance The Way I Am Keltek - Oblivion Keltek - Down To Earth Keltek - Dark Sun Keltek feat Michael Jo - Down Like This Keltek - One Tribe (Official Defqon.1 2019 Anthem) Keltek feat Diandra Faye - Kingdom Comes Keltek - Awaken Keltek & Devin Wild - Creature Keltek & Sound Rush - One Of Us D-Block & S-Te-Fan - Angels & Demons (Keltek Remix) Keltek - Echo Keltek - Edge Of Existence (Official Reverze 2019 Anthem) Keltek - Mask On My Face Keltek - Through The Night Keltek - Kick Off (Rebirth 2018 OST) Keltek - Valkyries Project One - Life Beyond Earth (Keltek Remix) Keltek & Psyko Punkz - The Apex The Prophet & Headhunterz - Scar Ur Face (Keltek Remix) Keltek & Radical Redemption - Kicking It Keltek & Psyko Punkz & Coone - Arriba Keltek - Spirit Of The Night Keltek - Turn To Dust It's a glorious looking tracklist, that's for damn sure, but it's all about the music. And he knows exactly how to make music great. Really dancefloor anthems, or in this case, event anthems. He's made a few, including the Defqon.1, Rebirth, and Reverze anthems. A busy bee he truly is. The tracks are all solid. These are the anthems you want to hear, when you are at a festival, sun is shining, drinks are in hand, and the speakers are near you. You need to hear these anthems, and without any energy drinks at hand, you are given so much energy, you will dance until the dusk of dawn, or whenever it is the event ends. But this is energy provoking music, that's for sure. I feel something when I listen to this mix. A bit of nostalgia, to how Hardstyle used to be. A bit more melodic sounding Hardstyle. A bit more euphoric. A bit more uplifting. And Keltek's productions seem to make me move a lot more than other producers. A wicked mix. Got nothing negative to say. All slamming records, and even though it is only an hour long, it's a brilliant hour filled with excellent music. Keltek is the way forward, ladies and gentlemen! Especially when you hear 'Echo'. What a big hit! • Classic Trance (2022)

From deafening Hardcore to some nice and relaxing Trance music. What a transition, right? But don't you worry, Duggylad™️ has got your back. Whoever it might be, I did stumble upon his mix, as I was looking for some classic Trance mixes, and his was the first mix that contained a tracklist. Hence why I immediately jumped on it, and gave it a go. And I wasn't disappointed. I am now, sitting here in my comfy WFH chair, and I'm enjoying the music coming at me through my speakers. Life can be good, you know? I am a lover of Classic Trance music. You all know it. And I think I've shared plenty of mixes over the years, which were all focussed on Classic Trance. It's the music I grew up with, and that embraced me when the Hardcore flame died down a bit. I had to jump onto something, and that thing was Trance music. I do love myself a bit of Trance. Be it from the early 90s to the Millennium sound: I love it all. But I love the tacks which are in this mix a tad more. The mix contains the big anthems you all seem to love and adore. And truth be told: no one on God's given Earth hates Trance music. No one does. Why would you hate it? It's just so heavenly, so pure, so beautiful. The tracks might have been played over and over throughout the years, but you can still listen to them, on continuous repeat. Until death do us part. This style of music never grows old, or gets tiresome. But what did Duggylad™️ use for his Classic Trance mix? Well, you won't be disappointed to see these records crammed into an hour and a half long mix: Nalin & Kane - Beach Ball (Tall Paul Remix) Signum - Coming On Strong Niels Van Gogh - Pulverturm (DJ Tomcraft Remix) DJ Tiesto - Adagio For Strings Veracocha - Carte Blanche Three Drives - Greece 2000 Lange - Follow Me Lange - Drifting Away Angelli & Nelson - Everyday (Lange Remix) DJ Sakin & Friends - Protect Your Mind (For The Love Of A Princess) Southside Spinners - Luvstruck The Warrior - Warrior Barthezz - On The Move Gouryella - Gouryella Oooh, there are a few records I've not heard in a long time! Love it. This takes me back to the glorious years. A good selection by Duggylad™️ , that's for sure! This mix did send me back in time. I closed my eyes for a split second, and I felt like a teenager again, dancing away in my living room, or just walking around college with my big ass headphones on, with the bass slider all the way to the max, and I couldn't care less if it was sunny or raining: I was happy. This is happiness creating music. And nostalgic music too! I am sitting here, pleased as fuck. I really enjoyed this mix, and even though most of these tunes are found in a million mixes, I still appreciate the tunes a lot. And it has got 'Pulverturm' in it. Definitely a track I've not heard in at least 10 years, which is a real shame. A solid mix, what else is there to say? Jump on it right now, and go back in time! • Thunderdome 2022 | Angerfist vs. Tha Playah

I can honestly say that I've not encountered a set this year that made me smile more than this one. I found this set last week on Thunderdome's official YouTube channel, and I haven't stopped listening to this set. It's a big set, and roughly 38k plays already, so people are just like me: enjoying this set a lot. And if you were one of the few people at last year's Thunderdome, you want to reminisce and relive the moment these two legends took to the stage, and played the finest anthems. They are two of the finest Hardcore icons, and their set is now available to watch, if you can handle the heat! The set you are about to listen to (or view), is a set by Tha Playah and Angerfist, live at last year's Thunderdome. And if you have read any of my previous reviews, you know I didn't go to Thunderdome, as I was too late to purchase tickets. But after listening to this set, it has given me the urge to go out and rave my nuts off. This set took me back in time, and not only did the music take me back, but also the way this show was set up/presented. The visuals are absolutely insane. Really ridiculous. In a positive way. I was blown away during this 48 minute long set by how awesome the mainstage looked, and how the gabbers were blinded by the awesome lighting equipment. But it's all about the music, and the music is, as expected, excellent! Both Angerfist and Tha Playah have been a huge influence for me, during the Millennium years. Both are excellent producers, and they are both considered as the finest producer in the Hardcore scene. Angerfist obviously amassed a huge following all over the world, and his brand is known all over (his famous mask), but let's not underestimate Tha Playah. He's been on top of his game since day one, and you can find a shit ton of his records in this mix, highlighting his impact on the scene. Put these two together, and you get an ace set, one that put the biggest smile on my face. The biggest smile of 2023 so far! But which tracks did they select for their short set? Tha Playah - Why So Serious? Angerfist - Bite Yo Style Angerfist - In A Million Years Tha Playah & Neophyte - Still Nr. 1 Tha Playah - Walking The Line Angerfist - Riotstarter Tha Playah - Mastah Of Shock (Angerfist Remix) Tha Playah & Neophyte & The Viper - Master This Angerfist & Outblast & Crucifier - Triple Vision Angerfist & Dyprax - The Pearly Gates Tha Playah & Neophyte - Snitcher Angerfist & Outblast feat Tha Watcher - Voice Of Mayhem (Official Masters Of Hardcore 2010 Anthem) Angerfist - Temple Of Disease (Tha Playah Remix) Angerfist - Street Fighter (Vocals) Angerfist & Tha Playah feat MC Jeff - Just Like Me (Mashup) Tha Playah & Neophyte & Panic & Evil Activities - Adrenaline Angerfist - Knock Knock Angerfist & MC Nolz - The Deadfaced Dimension Tha Playah & Frequencerz - Envy Angerfist & Radical Redemption - Repercussion Tha Playah & Nosferatu - Riders Of Retaliation (Official Dominator 2015 Anthem) Angerfist & Tha Playah - Prophecy Angerfist & Outblast - Odious Angerfist - Still A Full Gentle Racket (Angerfist 2019 Refix) (Mashuo) ID - ID Paul Elstak - You're A Hardcore Hooligan (Vocals) Angerfist & Furyan - Hoax (Mashup) Denekamp Gespuis - Gas Met Die Zooi (Tha Playah Remix) Angerfist & Miss K8 - Santiago (Tha Playah Remix) Angerfist - Pennywise Tha Playah & Mad Dog - Embrace The Fire Angerfist & MC Nolz - Creed Of Chaos Tha Playah & Restrained - Let It Burn Angerfist - Diabolic Dice Angerfist - Freddy Tha Playah - Vigilance (Thunderdome 2022 Edit) w/ Tha Playah & Broken Minds - Erased From The Dead Angerfist - Mighty Methods vs Incoming Tha Playah & Angerfist - The Heartless Angerfist - Bad Attitude (Deadly Guns Remix) Angerfist - Solid Stigma What an insane looking tracklist! Taking me right back to the glorious days of Hardcore! So many awesome records in here, and also the volume of tracks in 48 minutes is insane! I've been listening to this set a few days in a row now, and I have to say that I'm sitting here, in regret, for not going to Thunderdome. And especially regretting the fact that I missed this set. Oh, how I would have loved to go to this, and rave hard. The fans are loving it, just by looking at the footage shared by Thunderdome. The show in its entirety is insane: from the visuals to how the set was recorded. It all works well, and with the two finest producers/DJs behind the decks, you are surely entertained for 48 minutes. This set has created the urge to go out again. And I should. Sitting on my ass doesn't do me any good. I need to burn off the fat, and why not do it during an Angerfist and Tha Playah set? I love the balance between Tha Playah records and Angerfist ones. The majority are made by Angerfist, but it seems to be balanced. They did bring the heat to Thunderdome, and the crowd loved it. At certain moments, if you were to close your eyes, you could picture this being a MoH event, as the tunes were MoH success anthems, or even Dominator records, but no, you are wrong; they were at Thunderdome, and made sure they left a legacy behind, one to be proud of. A wonderful set, with only one tiny issue: I seriously dislike Paul Elstak's 'You're A Hardcore Hooligan'. Such a dreadful song. Best record? I have to pick two: The Deadfaced Dimension' and 'Temple Of Disease'. Brilliant, absolutely brilliant records. A wonderful set. Can't top this set. It's the best one I've heard this year, and it will be a hard one to beat! • Thunderdome CDs 2001 - 2003 (2023)

Let's go back in time. Roughly 20 to 22 years, back in time. Hardcore was 'dead', according to the news outlets from back in the day. It died back in 1998, when the Hardcore balloon burst, and it slowly disappeared. The mainstream followers went elsewhere, but some remained active in the underground scene. Hardcore had to reinvent itself again, and not be lead by commercialism, but by the reason the music was created in the first place: the love and enthusiasm for a genre that does not conform to the mainstream music genres, the top 40 kind of genres. Hardcore was for the ravers, and no one else. Thunderdome, the label, released the last big album in 1999, and for a short period of time, they went silent. Nothing happened. Absolutely nothing. But then, 2001 appeared, and so did the new Thunderdome album. And I was looking forward to hear something from the ID&T camp. I owned most of the Thunderdome CDs, and bought many merchandise items etc. And yes, I bought the box, which was released in 1999. All the goodies were mine, and I was a freak. A Thunderdome freak. 2 years of silence, it nearly drove me mad. Thankfully there were other labels still pushing out albums, but they were more underground focussed. Albums you would see in the top 40 displays in your local CD store. You would have to dig deep to find those albums. They were there, hidden away. The 'new' Thunderdome album. It was different. No more nice images on the front. No more wizard, no more scary creatures, just a plain colour, and the word Thunderdome on the cover. That was all. No more numbers, just colours. It could have been a sign, that they reinvented themselves, and went back to a more simpler way of releasing albums and music. And my first impression, well, wasn't great. The album cover looked as bland as anything, and the music didn't capture my enthusiasm as much as I wanted it to be. They reinvented themselves, but not in an all positive way. I wasn't impressed. I am not saying the previous albums were any better, as they were literally filled with any tracks they could find, be it good or bad tracks. Hell, they even fucked up certain artist names, song titles, remix names, etc. It was a mix and mash of everything they could find. But this new and revived Thunderdome wasn't everyone's cup of tea. Not for me, initially. It got worst at a later stage, with Thunderdome 2nd Gen Part 1, Thunderdome 2005-I, Thunderdome 2006, Thunderdome 2007-I, but slowly gained my interest again in 2008, when it was called Thunderdome. Yeah, not very imaginative. But the 'bland' colour period, let's focus on those albums. 5 albums. Green, black, grey, red, and brown. It gave me mixed feelings. They weren't as cool as the previous albums. They had a cool cover image. They stood out. These bland ones just faded away into obscurity. But the music, that's a different story. I didn't feel the music being Thunderdome-ish. I felt the Masters of Hardcore vibes coming through the speakers more. MoH dominated during the early Millennium years, and their sound just resonated throughout the scene. Most of the tracks on the Thunderdome 'bland' editions could have been easily on a MoH album, or did indeed appear on one of the MoH albums. Thunderdome tried to come back, but MoH beat them, hands down. And maybe that's why I didn't appreciate the albums as much as I should have. They were OK, but that was it. Nothing to write home about, and I don't think many people would have these in their top 10 of best Thunderdome albums ever. People will vote for all the other albums before they consider these 5 bland ones. They still don't stand out from all the others Thunderdome has released so far, which is a pity. Some of the records on these albums have stood the test of time extremely well. But you would expect to love at least 50% of a Thunderdome album, 25% would be records that you grow into, and 25% would be 'not really interesting songs'. But for me it was more like 25% wicked records, 50% meh, and 25% 'really bad records'. Yes, I did buy all the albums. It is still a legendary brand, so I had to. But I slowly moved away from the label, and started purchasing other compilations, which meant more to me, like MoH. They knew what the audience wanted to hear, especially around the Millennium era. They nailed it. ID&T didn't. They gained me back at a later stage, but I've never fully recovered from the trauma which occurred when these disappointing albums were released. It just didn't get me excited anymore. I am still a Thunderdome baby, and still consider it to be the top notch brand, the one that stood the test of time. But they certainly had their ups and downs, and these albums were definitely the worst for me. All of these haven't aged well. Let me reiterate: they are bland as fuck, but still each album had a few timeless classics on them. But the majority of the records weren't as good as you hoped them to be, or they weren't 'Thunderdome' enough. The previous albums had this sound, and you could tell if a song was on a Thunderdome album or not. But these 5 albums were a mashup of the good and bad. I still listen to them every so often, and skip most of the albums to the good records. And guess what I did today? Exactly that! And when it comes to a Thunderdome album, you shouldn't really skip, at any stage. Yes, each albums, be it a 90s, 2000nd, or 2010 album, had their shit songs. But the older stuff was just much better. Thankfully they did come back, and brought back the Thunderdome events too. But let's swiftly move on from this catastrophe. It wasn't a great few years for Hardcore, and also not for Thunderdome. But at least we can look back and have a giggle. Can't give these albums more than a 2.5. Was thinking more a 2, but they still had a few big anthems on there. And I'm currently checking them out.

  • Mad Dog at HÖR - Jan 25 / 2023

A new day, a new set found on Soundcloud. And coincidentally, also on YouTube. A set done by DJ Mad Dog, for HÖR. I've seen a few sets before by other artists, and I'm intrigued by the concept. It looks like they are in a bathroom/toilet area? It looks obscure, and very underground-ish, doesn't it? And as I was scrolling through both YouTube and Soundcloud, I found this set nearly at the same time. And you all know, I cannot just let this slide by and not talk about it? It's a set by DJ Mad Dog, for crying out loud! Who wants to miss that, right? I remember him doing a set during lockdown, which I had stored to watch and review at a later stage, but I completely forgot, and for that, I can only profusely apologise. At least I'm not letting this one slide by. I'm on it, and I have been for the last few hours. I pressed play, and was happily surprised on the records Mad Dog selected for his set. Also how calm he seems behind the decks, but still embodies Hardcore music. During the Millennium years I fell in love with his records, but for a strange reason I've lost touch of what the man released over the last few years. I did listen to his lockdown mix, which blew me away. The man has gained the experience, and the knowledge too, and the quality of the songs have just increased by a million. And for this HÖR set, he included a lot of his stuff, and they are top notch. Someone on YouTube kindly mentioned a tracklist, so if you are curious, here it is: Intro Mad Dog & Gabber Eleganza - You Belong Mad Dog - Overdose Mad Dog - Bass Is Kicking Mad Dog - Verzerrung Catscan - End Of Tomorrow (Mad Dog Edit) Mad Dog & Nightshift - Focul Arde Mad Dog & SWART - Egypt Mad Dog - The Energy Viper Diva - En Y Mad Dog - Time Nightshift - Welcome To The 90s RBX - Smashed Head The Raven - A New Hope (Mad Dog Edit) Mad Dog - Il Futuro (Edit) Mad Dog - ID KRTM - Baldboy Brecc - Cripple X-Form - Pleasure Voyage (Mad Dog Downtempo Edit) Luciid - Paro Hour Mad Dog & Marc Acardipane - Sick With It (Alternative Edit) ANSBRO - Toulouse Marc Acardipane - Atmos-Fear (DJ Mad Dog Remix) Ajo - Escuchame Mad Dog - Energy 1996 Mad Dog - Straight To Hell/We Who Are Opressed D.O.A. - Unleash The Brutality Temper Tantrum - New York City There are a fuck ton of excellent songs in here. And it's got a proper intro too, which I always find very much required. Don't just jump straight into the music, give us a nice intro. So Mad Dog has certainly ticked that box. But it's all about the music. And, is it any good? Yes. Hell yes. It's been an amazing 54 minutes. So many great records in this set. And I do love his approach to producing new stuff. The tracks have got this specific sound, which embraces both the old and new sound. It's just a mix and mash of both worlds, and I freaking love it. Pure Gabber sound too. Oh mate, this mix puts a smile on my face! I love it when the old meets the new, and it works well. Some of the artists I follow, do that exactly to the t. And Mad Dog has done the same. He still makes them sound fresh and new, but with this distinctive early sound. Really impressive stuff. But here comes the twist: my favourite track. I heard it, and I knew it was my favourite, because it's one filthy fucking track. 'Unleash The Brutality'. An all time classic. But I had to also include a newer track, and 'Energy 1996' by Mad Dog is one of those tracks I referred to earlier. New, but old sounding. Keep the early sound alive. Spread the Hardcore love! And listen to this set, if you dare! Ps. I've added both the Soundcloud and YouTube player underneath this mix. • The Dreams Mix (Part 2) (2021)

Dreams, what are they made of? Why do humans dream? We aren't the only creatures on this Earth to dream, but why do we dream? And why can't I, most of the time, remember what I dreamt about? And why are dreams so short? It is such a magical thing that I can't understand how it works, and why we experience it, but sometimes you just have to accept that things happen, and you will never understand the meaning behind it. It can be a magical thing, or a complete nightmare. Yeah, that raises another question: why do we have nightmares? Don't we 'suffer' enough when we are awake? Why be tormented in our sleep too? You might be wondering why I am talking about dreaming, right? Well, Selectabwoy is back with a new mix, all focussed on the concept of dreaming. Well, that's not strictly true, but you will know why. Technically speaking, the songs are all brilliant anthems, but they have got dreams in the title, or refer to the concept of dreaming. But don't you worry: it's not something that will get you asleep easily. Maybe it might get you more relaxed, more mellowed out. But the bass and melodies will certainly keep you awake. In short, he took some records that contain the word 'dream' or any variation to the word 'dream', and made a mix of all those songs. And now I'm sitting here, at 7am, blasting out the mix at max volume, and I feel good. I feel relaxed. I feel so damn good inside, and I am just sitting in my office, WFH. Who would have thought that life could be so great? All jokes aside, whatever Selectabwoy does, turns into gold. It is true. His Soundcloud page is the one I visit the most, as it's got tons of excellent mixes, and it's the variety that I appreciate. Big Drum and Bass mixes? Yes, he's got them. Jungle anthem driving mix? Sure! Birthday mix for his missus that contains Rap/Hip Hop anthems? You've guessed it, he's got 2 of them! He's one of the most prolific DJs on Soundcloud, hence why every so often you will find a review on my website of one of his mixes. He's just so fucking good. Hence why I voted for him, hoping he would appear on the DJ Mag 100. Unfortunately, he didn't. One day he might. We can all just hope and dream about it happening... Sleepwalker - Age Of Aquarius (No Surrender, No Retreat) (L.D. Remix) Blame - Are You Dreaming Special Request - Broken Dreams A Guy Called Gerald - Alita's Dream Liftin' Spirits - Will I Dream? More Rockers - Dream Harmony - Dreaming Cloud 9 - The Dreamer Jack & Phil - A Trip To Knowledge (Jack Smooth's Old Skool Mix) Tek 9 - Just A Dream Eze-G - Worlds Of Confusion Peshay & Roger Johnson - Crazy Daydream Cool Hand Flex - Dreams Codename John - Dreams Of Heaven (Mark Kloud Edit) Ranski -Dreams Of Horns (Mix 1) Equinox feat Mr. Spriggs - Sweet Dreams Static Substance - Mind Games Kid Lib - Blue Dreamers Wishdokta - River Of Dreams DJ Hype - Dreams Skanna - Dreamin' This is certainly a mix focussed on dreaming/dreams. Look at the titles. Most of the songs do contain the word 'dream', or a variation to this word. And the age of each song in this mix ranges too: the oldest is from 1992, the 'newest' is from 2021. So are treated to everything dream related. It's like this mix is the ultimate dream catcher. I remember, as a kid, I would have a dream catcher hanging above my bed. It never worked, but the thought was there, when my dad purchased it. This mix is as good as you wanted it to be. And I know you wanted to hear a good mix today. I am telepathic. Or pathetic, whatever word it is you think of right now. But at least I'm here to inform you about this mix made by Selectabwoy, one certainly worth a listen. Or, once you've listened to it, you might even dream of Selectabwoy. Whatever floats your boat. I really enjoyed this mix. It's a nice relaxing mix. Doesn't get in your face at all. It's like a pillow that embraces your face, and becomes your friend for the next few hours, while you dose off to dream land. A solid mix. He always delivers, doesn't he? Another wicked mix, and I really like the concept of this mix. It's different, and I like it! More of these sleepy mixes please, mr Selectabwoy! Best record? Well, I do like both the opening track and the closing track. So, those are my favourite ones. • Lockdown Mix - Old School Bassline (2021)

Time for wobbling tunes! Are you ready for some 4x4/Bassline anthems? Just a quick 30 minute mix by Vamos. A regular contributor to this page, without him even knowing it lol. I know that one of his mixes was already reviewed a few days ago, but I had to review another mix I only found the other day, which had a tracklist, and it had already received raving reviews. 15.4k+ plays so far, and a lot of love for this mix. But the reason why people love it is obvious. Who doesn't love oldschool Bassline, 4x4 music? If you don't, why the freaking hell are you reading this review? I am a Bassline fan. You know it, and I know it. And I do miss the sound from around 2010. It was so damn good, so wobbly. And it demolished a few of my car speakers though, but it was oh so worth it. And even in 2023 I do appreciate the Bassline/4x4 sound. And leave it to Vamos to create a mix that contains the classics. Only a handful of records were selected, and the mix is only 30 minutes long, so if you are looking for something longer, go and look for yourself on Vamos' Soundcloud channel. There's more for you all to appreciate. As much as I love Bassline music, I am the whitest person on God's given Earth. I am one of those people who love the music, but don't understand what certain words mean. And most words anyway, I mumble, because I don't really grasps what the words mean. What's a 'bum brownin'? 'Mussy mad'? Why is he mad? Why is the brand G-Star so important? £17.50, what's so important about that? Yeah, I'm truly white. Let me just enjoy it, sitting in the corner. I'm not going to skank on the dancefloor (have I used the word 'skank' correctly?) You now want to know which tunes are in this mix? TS7 feat Trilla - Goin' In (Vamos Dub) Freddo - Memories TS7 - Flip Flop VIP Nastee Boi - Mussy Mad 09 Subzero - Be With Me DJ Pantha vs Lil Silva - Lick Doon Seasons TRC feat Trilla & Asher - Wobbler Part 3 1st Born feat Slick Don - Bum Brownin Subzero - Sho Sho Dub Vamos - Trilla Dub Mashup Ussy - Next Hype TS7 - Smile Burgaboy - Dutty Wine JTJ - It's You Dyno feat Slick Don - Skank Skank Bassboy - Hmm Yess 1st Born feat Sleeka - Shake To Da Left When I pressed play and heard the first few tunes, I was immediately transported back in time. This mix has been a trip back in time, like a teleporter. I feel like Back To The Future. It's been a pleasant journey back to the glorious years! Vamos' set was recorded during lockdown. Do we remember what we did during lockdown? It feels like an eternity ago, in my honest opinion. But yeah, not only did he provide us with a mix, but also a nice message :'wash your hands!'. Still applies in 2023, keep washing those hands. And then skank. Did I use it correctly? Or am I not worth using those terms? All jokes aside, this is yet another wicked mix by Vamos. I really appreciate his enthusiasm for Bassline/4x4 music, and the mix is really tight. Some tiny mixing errors, but nothing to worry about. I also love the 'Trilla Dub Mashup'. That's one bad ass tune. Trilla's voice was so unique, and you could recognise his voice out of a thousand others. But you could do the same with Slick Don's voice. Well, my point isn't really clear, is it? Fuck it. I did like Trilla's voice. There, I've said it. Download this absolute monster of a mix, and appreciate the glory days! • MEGAMIX HardcorePower Top100 2022

Another day, another review. And this time it's a megamix, with only Hardcore anthems in them. And you know I'm a sucker for Hardcore music. It doesn't matter if it's 90s, Millennium or present day Hardcore. I love it all. Obviously the 90s a bit more, Millennium is also one of my favourite eras, but yeah, everything Hardcore related I'll absorb like a sponge. So you know exactly what happened when I spotted this mix, which was uploaded onto HardcorePower's Soundcloud channel... I had to press play, and emerge myself into this megamix. One of the first things I've noticed is how many tracks are in this mix. A hundred, to be precise. Another thing I noticed is the length of this mix. Well, the shortness of it. 100 tracks in a nearly 29 minute long mix. So there's not a long time to enjoy each record: it's literally a megamix. Hits are thrown at you at unspeakable speed. Final thing noticed by yours truly was the tracklist: after listening to just a handful of minutes, I noticed that this wasn't in order as it was mixed. So that was a tad confusing. I've never encountered the station HardcorePower before, so I'm not sure who's behind it. But I'm guessing they did a top 100 after people voted for their favourite Hardcore anthem, right? It isn't the easiest thing to determine the BEST Hardcore anthem of all time, because there are so many. After quickly looking at the tracklist I would have voted for at least 70% of the records selected, so I wouldn't be participating in this, as I can't make a clear decision. Now those that are familiar with this radio station, can you clarify something for me? The list, which you can find here (or underneath the mix on Soundcloud): is that the list as it stands? So number 1 is Nosferatu? Is the list the 100 in chronological order? Or is it just a list of the 100 records people selected, not in any order? Nosferatu - The Only Life I'll Ever Know Miss K8 - You Can't Stop Me 3 Steps Ahead - Drop It The Prophet - Wanna Play? I had to type the whole tracklist, and seeing as it's 100 records in it, it's a lot of words. And it might be painful, it's all worth it! Initially, the tracklist looked good, and the mix sounded good. But then, after a while, it made me wonder. The tracks selected, some are missing from this list, and some shouldn't even be on here. I know it's difficult to please everyone, and these are just my own opinions, but some records aren't worth it, being in the top 100. But that's what you get, when everyone votes for their favourite records. Youngsters will select the tunes that dominate the charts now, when I on the other hand would pick the older anthems. I could fill a list of 100 records will only records released pre 2010. It's a nice mix with a few wicked anthems, certainly worth being mentioned in the top 100. It's literally a mixture of everything. Impressive how they managed to cram in 100 records in a 28 minute long mix. I couldn't do it. A lot of cutting and pasting, right? This could be a good mix for you all to work out to? Go to the gym and crank up the volume? As good as this mix is, I've got mixed feelings. Again, my personal opinion, but some aren't worth it being in a top 100. They are good records, don't get me wrong, but not the finest record ever made by any artist. And at certain stages it's a bit too crammed. 28 minutes is OK, 58 minutes would be a bit better. You still get the Hardcore coming at you through your speakers. So who am I, complaining about anything, right? I am a miserable old geezer. • 1991 to 1994 Old Skool Rave / Hardcore Mix - Mickey Beam (2022)

Let's go back in time. Back to the years 1991, 1992, 1993, and 1994. Back to the days when Rave/Oldskool was the dopest sound on Earth. You couldn't go to a party without rave music being played out loud. It was still a bit of an underground sound/style, but it was going to gain traction, and it gained a lot of fans when it emerged from the darkest depths of the underground. I was only a youngster still (in 1991 I was 8 years old), so I did not experience this as much as others have, and by others I mean older people. People who were born way before 1983. Too young to have experienced it, but now I'm not too old to enjoy it as much as the ravers did back in the day. The mix you are about to listen to, was made by Mickey Beam. And this isn't the first Mickey Beam mix I've ever encountered. His Soundcloud channel is filled with oldskool mixes. But we are not here to discuss his older mixes, but only his most recent one. And it's a glorious one. If you are into the early rave/Hardcore sound, you will be pleased. Trust me. I might have been too young to understand the music when it was hot, but now I've gained a bit of experience and knowledge, and I know this is all good for you. Who needs medicines when music is the answer to everything? I still have a lot to learn, but what I do know, is that the music is fantastic. Not just the tunes selected for this mix, but the music in general. Mickey Beam selected a handful anthems, an mixed them together nicely. By just glancing at the tracklist, my interest peaked. Only know a handful of the names, but even though some artist names are unknown to me, I would like to hear the records they made. Why? Well, it's freaking oldskool/Rave music. Who would say NO to that? 2 Boasters - It's Not Over LTJ Bukem - Logical Progression Shaft - Roobarb And Custard (Beam Edit) Digital Domain - I Need Relief The Prodigy - Android Sonic Experience - Protien (Hardcore Innovator Mix) Sublove - Maniac Music First Project - Right Before (The Unreleased Mix) Mystery Man - DJ Busines Dance Conspiracy - Dub War (Chapter Three) Windy Milla - Ruff & Massive Liquid Crystal - I'll Take You The Moog - Jungle Muffin DJ Spice - The New Style Part 2 M-Beat - Surrender Aphrodite feat Micky Finn - Burning Passion (Camden Mix) Bass Selective - Blow Out Part 2 Jonny L - Hurt You So (Bootleg Remix) Congo Natty - Phenomenon 1 (Catch The Fever Mix) Ramos & Supreme & Sunset Regime - Crowd Control (DJ Slipmatt Remix) Sunshine Productions - Symphony In September (Vibes & Wishdokta Mix) Rhythm Section - Future The tracklist might not gain as much hype as Mickey Beam might have expected, but it's all about the music, and that gets a big plus from me. I'm very bad with names and titles, but that all fades into obscurity once I hear those glorious beats, basses and melodies come at me. I really like the tracks Mickey has selected. Some known, some unknown (to me), but it's all about the general feeling this mix generates. And I am sitting here, content with everything and everyone, and that's all down to the mix. This mix has put a smile on my face, and made me wish I was old enough to rave my ass off. Why were my mum and dad so late with doing the deed? Could they have not done it in 1977 or something? A lot of excellent Breakbeat Hardcore, Jungle, Rave anthems. You'll appreciate it as much as I have, if you just press play, and close your eyes. Could ask your other half to turn on the stroboscopes, and pretend it's 1992. Open the windows, so you feel a bit nippy (you get the outdoor sensation). And if you turn the speakers all the way up, you might be back in 1992. I've got nothing negative to say. Another wicked mix by Mickey Beam! Go and check it out! Oh, it's also available to download. So why not do that too? Best record? It was hard, but 'Future' by Rhythm Section. Glorious track. Absolutely glorious! • Hedonistik Ritual @ Cosmic Hard Dance, London, November 2022 (Hard Trance)

Hedonistik Ritual, ever heard of him? You might have seen his name appear in other mixes before, mainly Freeform mixes, but he's an all round artist. Not just focussed on Freeform, but also a bit of Hard Trance. And he was asked to perform at The Albany in London last year, at Cosmic Hard Dance. He played there alongside Matt OD, Spyro, Gumbar, Karkasaurus, Rulebreakerz, Altered Circuitry, and Jonno. I might have seen some info about this event on social media, but unfortunately I've not been to this event. Thankfully, the set is now online, so we can get a taste of what happened on Saturday the 19th of November 2022... are you ready for the madness? As you all know, I am a huge sucker for Hard Trance music. Anything Trance related brings a smile on my face (hence why I am a lover of Freeform music). So when Hedonistik Rituals uploaded this set a few days ago, I had to listen to it. And boy, did he not disappoint?! I wasn't ready for the madness, I wasn't ready for such an ace set with so many wicked anthems! This has got to be the first set ever (as far as I can tell), that is literally 50 minutes long. Not one second longer or shorter: exactly 50 minutes. And within those minutes, he takes no prisoners, and plays 9 records. You know what that means, right? Full length versions, no short radio edits. Sometimes shorter versions are OK, but not when you are in a club, raving your tits off. You just want to experience the full madness, and if it means hearing a song at its fullest, that's what you need to hear. Hedonistik Ritual has got your back. But which songs did he pick to intoxicate the crowd? Well, these: JTB Live - Refactored Weirdo - Photic Zone (Lab4 & Quade77 Remix) Hedonistik Ritual - Sunshine & Rainbows Symmetrik - Lost In Translation Ava Max - Torn (Renegade System Remix) Kevin Energy & Dan Kelly - Cyclone One Scot Project - FM (Shugz & David Rust Remix) Armin van Buuren - Control Freak (Rick Guyez Remix) Renegade System - Power Of The Mind An easy tracklist to type, that's for sure. But it's not about the title of the songs, it's all about the music and what it does to the crowd. And I'm just guessing here, but I'm guessing the people at Cosmic had a great night out. Especially during this set. I would have loved it, hearing these excellent Hard Trance anthems. Really impressed with the songs selected. Only know a handful of them, but they are worth your time. And if you have been to this event, let me know how it was, how was the experience for you, hearing and seeing Hedonistik Ritual perform? Must have been ace, right? A solid set. 50 minutes long, and within those 50 minutes, he just gets on with the job, and pleases the listeners. It's a solid set, with a lot of excellent records. It starts off with an excellent opener, and just continues. The one track that blew my mind into a billion pieces has to be Ava Max's song, remixed by Renegade System. I really enjoyed this set a lot. I went into this set without any prejudice, and came out with a huge ass smile on my face. Hedonistik Rituals set is a wicked one. Go jump on this one right now! • Progression Sessions Tribute Mix mixed by Protocol (2023)

I love being surprised. I am a huge fan of surprises, so when I saw this mix the other day, I had to jump on it, and let it surprise me. And it certainly did. Another mix by Protocol, who's given us plenty of excellent mixes over the last couple of years. But now he has ventured into the Drum and Bass world. A world so unique and cool, I always tend to fall back to this wonderful world. But now, which area of this world did Protocol drop us in? What has he got in store for us today? As much as I love Drum and Bass, I still have a lot to learn. And today Protocol is teaching me a lot. He introduces me to the world of Progression Sessions. A CD series that started back in 1997 and continued until 2004. 7 years of Drum and Bass. Most of the series were done by LTJ Bukem, and I do remember seeing these in our local CD store, but as I wasn't into DnB back then, I just never took any interest in them. I should have paid attention and showed my interest, because the mix you are about to listen to, is specially dedicated to this series. I've now listened to this a few times, and it has made me regret not purchasing these discs back in the day. I feel like a blooming idiot. At least I'm not too late to appreciate good/excellent music right? And Protocol's mix is dedicated to this Progression Sessions, and it's an hour and 45 minutes long, and has only got 16 records. So be ready for a nice, long, and relaxing mix. Not a megamix with a billion records in 10 seconds. Protocol has carefully selected the songs, and mixed them together neatly! But which records did he pick, huh? You are curious, like George now, right? Cedar - Equinox Big Bud - A Way Of Life Intense - Eastern Promise LTJ Bukem - Rhodes To Freedom Makoto - Butterfly MC Conrad - Energetic Poetry Makoto & Akira - Mind Vision MC Conrad - Futures Call Seba - Soul 2000 Motive One - Cosmik Nookie - Innerspace PFM - The Western (Mike Ricochetts Mix) Nookie - Solstice Rantoul - The Ladder PHD & MC Conrad - Presence Rantoul - Default This has been a lush experience. I am now sitting here in my office, and I'm relaxed. As relaxed as a human can be. And as many times I've already listened to this mix, I am still enjoying it. You can't go wrong with Drum and Bass, you never can go wrong. That's just a fact. It's a damn cool mix, very suitable to today, looking at how cold it is outside. We need something that matches the outside, and this mix is certainly cool as cucumbers. Protocol's appreciation mix for Progression Sessions is truly one you need to check out. It's nearly 2 hours of pure pleasure for your mind, body, and soul. At no point during this mix does it become a nuisance. I've been sitting here, hoping I could flaw this mix in one way or another, but I simply cannot. All the tracks are solid as a rock, and it's all been mixed together flawlessly. And of course the quality of the tunes is important too, and each track selected (and mixed) is one solid anthem. This has been nearly 2 hours of pure bliss, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I should have picked these albums up when they were hot, and I regret not doing it. Thanks to Protocol to make sure I'm fully onboard the Progression Sessions train, and I will certainly never get off the train. This train can go on forever and ever. And obviously I am on the hunt to find more mixes dedicated to this series. Because, you know why, this mix has been ace! • Best of British Hardcore (2023)

It has been nearly 7 years since I made the move from the Netherlands to the United Kingdom, and it's been a pleasant one. Obviously I had to leave the comfort of my home country, the place of my birth, all behind, and had to 'start' again. Nothing too dramatic, I assure you. But it has been a difficult move. I had to sacrifice certain aspects, but I gained a new life instead. It isn't as easy as one, two, three, but it is worth it, if you put your shoulders under it. I now consider myself a Dunglish person, or a Brutch person (that last one sounds a bit sexual, and not appropriate, so let's leave it at Dunglish), and it makes me love two countries at the same time. And I had to grow accustom to a new way of living, and it came with so many benefits! One being the music. I am now closer to the source, to one of the music styles I appreciate a lot. British Hardcore. Some might like it, some might hate it. I do love it, but I still have a lot to learn. There are still so many artists I need to listen to, and haven't even heard about. So many unknowns to me, and I love exploring the genre on a daily basis. And will you Adam and Eve it, did I just find a mix, made by J.O.E., fully focussed on British Hardcore music, from 1995 to 1997? He has added a few names in this mix who I know. Not personally, but I know of their existence, and know of their music. But there's still a lot of stuff in here I've never heard or seen before, and I'm not exaggerating. And I fucking love it! It is truly amazing, being nearly 40 years old, and still feeling young again. It's like every day I go on an adventure, to find new music, which isn't technically speaking new, but to me it is. So what's he got in store today? For this 46 minute long mix, he mixed 13 records together. Want to know which ones? Well, you are in luck: Nemesis - Aftershock Suburban Delay - All I Need (Eurostomp Mix) DJ Eclipse - Ultraworld 5 Auriga - Isotope (Scott Brown Remix) Scott Brown - Rock That Body (Scott's Twisted Vinyl Mix) Druid & Bananaman - Tweedle Dee Sass - Uprising Ramos, Supreme & UFO - Terminator Supreme & UFO - Rave Station D-Tox - Trancer The Vampire - Technostorm (Sharkey Remix) Stu J & UFO - Resin B Tripswitch - Diztruxshon It is a short, but very powerful mix. It is J.O.E.'s favourite tracks from 1995 to 1997. Within those 46 minutes he delivers an excellent set. I still find it astonishing that, even though we call it Hardcore, every country had their own style, their own way of making the music their own. This could not sound any more different compared to European Hardcore, especially the Dutch, Belgian, and German Hardcore. It is so British. A bit more drawn towards the happier side of Hardcore, but I do love that. The Brits might be hard as nails, but when it comes to Hardcore, they love it happy. And that makes me happy! You can hear songs that would inspire the next phase of Hardcore, when it became more UK Hardcore-ish (the Millennium sound) and when Trancecore became a thing, and evolved into Freeform at a later stage. All in this short mix. It's unbelievable, Jeff! Not much to say. A wicked mix. Short and sweet. A true energy creating mix. If this doesn't give you a boost, nothing will. And obviously I had to select 'Technostorm' as my favourite one in this mix. An all time classic! Truly wicked song, love it. Now get down them apples and pears, head down to your local pub, and drink a few pints, and go out, and have it large, bruvva! DJ: J.O.E. • MD&A at Ghosttown 3 Decades (2023)

Last weekend a party was held, at the Tivoli Vredenburg in Utrecht, The Netherlands, and it was an event organised by Dance 2 Eden. You know it, we all do: Ghosttown. Never been unfortunately, but heard so many great stories about it. 30 years, and still counting. For their 3 decade edition they got the big artists performing, including the one who made this set: Paul Elstak, Promo, Panic, Drokz, Rob & MC Joe, MD&A (the set you are about to listen to), Painbringer, Dano, Gizmo, Bountyhunter, Gabber Syndrome, The Raver, TEC-9, Putty, The Enforcer, Ambient Daan, and it was hosted by MC Axys and M-Core. A decent line-up, in my honest opinion. It closely followed the previous edition, held in November of 2022, which also had a big line-up. It is one of those events I have always hoped to go and experience. Never been. And yes, I am Dutch. Should I have, maybe during the 90s? I should have, but can't go back in time. Well, in a way we can: I can teleport myself back to the 14th of January, and pretend to be in Utrecht, raving my ass off. Wouldn't that be a dream, a sweet dream? MD&A. The name I've seen before. On flyers, and in many mixes. I always thought it was a duo of a group, but I was wrong. But it's OK to admit when you are wrong. Only uploaded three days ago, and it already amassed nearly 2.5k plays! And people's responses are all great! But I can only agree, after listening to this set and looking at the tracklist. A mixture of both classic tracks, and new-ish tracks. Let's dive straight into the mix, and see what kind of records MD&A had selected for Ghosttown. Be ready for some madness coming your way: Hardsequencer - Braincrash MD&A - The Bomb Tschabos - Gib Mir Die Bass The Mover - Atmos-Fear MD&A - Blow MD&A - Face Of Silver Obsessive - Tune In Tune Out Paralizer - Bizarcore MD&A - As Far As You Can Paralizer - Move Your Body Painbringer - Words Of '95 (MD&A Remix) DJ Weirdo & DJ Sim - Go Get Busy Paralizer & F#ckface - Ghosttown Impulsive - Dark Destination Tango & Vince - TV T-Wisted - Listen To The Rhythm MD&A - Hardcore Will Never Die R.E.T.R.O. - Children Of Rave Gladiators - To The Crowd MD&A - Braindead Glorious. It is. A bit of the old, and a bit of the new. A nicely balanced mix. All up for that, aren't you? I am a lover of the early Hardcore/Gabber sound, and am always highly enthusiastic when I hear new 'early' sounding records. A few have made their way into this set, and obviously most of them I am familiar with. And if you were under the impression that early Hardcore remained only alive in the 90s, you are oh so fucking wrong! Hardcore is still alive and kicking, and the fans are eager as fuck to hear more music. And MD&A's set is one I needed to hear to give me an extra boost. I wish I went to Ghosttown. An event series with a rich history, a well established legacy still alive to this day. Not tarnished, but embraced. And for £25, that's a bargain! That's 90s money! There are a lot of wicked anthems, including a few of MD&A's own productions in here. This will certainly lighten up your mood, and teleport you back to the 90s. For me, obviously, it had to be the song 'Ghosttown' that did the most damage to my eardrums. Closely followed by 'Go Get Busy' and 'Listen To The Rhythm'. A good set. A few mixing errors, but nothing serious enough to stop listening and quickly playing something else. The set is worth your time, and if you are ready for the early sound, show your appreciation to MD&A. And while you are at it, why not Ghosttown too? Side note: extra credit for the song 'Blow'. Fucking hell, a catchy song, and one that will circle your head for hours, if not, days! • Noisetalgia Podcast 002: Tiesto (2023)

As you are all aware, if you are a regular to this page, I am a bit of a fan of the early Tiesto stuff. The stuff he made before he went and started producing EDM records. I have reviewed many mixes which were or made by Tiesto, or dedicated to Tiesto. But it's not just the last couple of years that I have been a fan: I remember him playing at Innercity 2000, and the place was packed to the max. But I became aware of him just before the end of the 20th century, and started buying everything that money would allow me. Obviously I purchased many of his top 40 hits, which you can find in this mix. I am a bit of a connoisseur, shall I say? I do love the Millennium sound, that reigned supreme for a long time. Tiesto wasn't the only DJ and producer, there were many like him (Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Paul van Dyk, Cosmic Gate, Svenson & Gielen, and the list goes on), but he led the Trance scene toward this new world. Again, he wasn't the only one, but he certainly did his bit to make it more appealing to the whole world, and the world embraced him. Especially when his first studio album 'In My Memory' came out, in 2001. He was an unstoppable force, and we were ready for him. And the tunes, oh my God, the tunes, they were extraordinary. And that's when this mix comes in. Indecent Noise decided to come up with a new concept. A bi-weekly mix, dedicated to the finest producers to come out of the Trance scene. The first one was dedicated to Armin van Buuren, which I would have reviewed, but Indecent Noise dropped this Tiesto mix before I had the chance, and truth be told, in my honest opinion, Tiesto any day. Armin van Buuren was just a bit meh. Might be a nice guy, but I would never have him as the best Trance DJ in the world. It's all about the music, in the end. Tiesto has now gone to the EDM world, so the only thing we've got left, is his music. And Indecent Noise made this hour and a half long mix, containing 19 of Tiesto's records. He's made more, but obviously these are the big tunes. Tiesto: Forever Today Kamaya Painters - Far From Over Schiller - Das Glockenspiel (DJ Tiesto Remix) Conjure One feat Sinead O'Connor - Tears From The Moon (Tiesto In Search Of Sunrise Remix) Paul Oakenfold - Southern Sun (DJ Tiesto Remix) DJ Tiesto - Suburban Train Delerium feat Sarah Mclaughlan - Silence (Tiesto In Search Of Sunrise Remix) DJ Tiesto - Lethal Industry Tiesto feat Kirsty Hawkshaw - Just Be Jan Johnston - Flesh (DJ Tiesto Remix) Johan Gielen presents Abnea - Velvet Moods (Tiesto In Search Of Sunrise Remix) Gouryella - Gouryella Tiesto - Nyana Tiesto feat BT - Love Comes Again Tiesto - Flight 643 Yahel & Eyal Barkan - Voyage (Tiesto Magikal Remake) Tiesto - Coming Home Tiesto - Traffic Tiesto - Adagio For Strings As the kids would say nowadays 'big tunes fam'. They were the dogs bollocks, back in the late 90s, early 2000nd. Tiesto rocked, and he rocked hard. I know exactly where I was when I bought each single CD + CD single made by Tiesto. And I can still remember how I felt. The music was so intoxicating, and mesmerizing. I was such a fan of his music. Not the biggest fan, like those who know peoples birthdays, birth place, girlfriend, etc. I knew his music, and that's all that mattered to me. I was an innocent teenager, you've got to remember. I do still love most of Tiesto's songs to this day. And in this new mix you can find a lot of them. Especially the big ones, the very BIG ones: you cannot make a dedication mix and NOT include 'Flight 643', 'Traffic', 'Suburban Train', or the stuff he did as Gouryella. Or what about 'Lethal Industry', also another slammer. The list goes on and on. And I love hearing them again. Carefully mixed together. Not a fan of all 19 songs though. I can still remember 'Flesh' being played at Tiesto In Concert and Jan Johnston singing it. It wasn't a great performance, and it has scarred me for life. And I never got the hang of 'Just Be'. Give me the other stuff, please. Especially his own productions, the more melodic stuff and less vocal filled anthems. But, to pick a favourite, is difficult. And even though I do like myself a nice instrumental record, because of the songs in it, I have to pick two, and funnily enough, they aren't instrumental. 'Tears From The Moon', and 'Silence'. To me, they are the biggest ones in this mix. Those vocals actually work, and work well. Especially 'Silence'. My God, the highs she reaches, incredible. And it's a version of this song that has stood the test of time! I really like this mix, and the concept. Paul van Dyk was the next mix in this series, right? Well, I can't wait for the third instalment, and the following episode. We need more mixes like this one. Thanks Indecent Noise, really neat. • History Of Hardcore | Rotterdam Terror Corps | Vol.2 (2020)

I've been a busy boy today: I've been scouring the web for good music, and it got me to a channel called Hardisciples. And one of the first things you might have spotted in the image above, is someone wearing a diving outfit. Not sure what that has got anything to do with RTC, but who knows? They might have had female dancers on stage, wearing that? To my knowledge, the dancers always have nearly nothing on, so I cannot imagine them wearing this outfit. But I might be wrong, and that happens on a lot of occasions. I know there are people out there with weird fetishes, and I'm guessing this is a fetish some might find suitable for them... Anyway, this is an appreciation mix, dedicated to the worldly known group called Rotterdam Terror Corps. You might have heard of them. If you haven't, you'll be in for a treat. A group so famous (or infamous), they have left an impact on the scene forever. Their legendary logo was on everything during the 90s: bomber jackets, t-shirts, hoodies, caps, keyrings, everything. They knew how to carry out marketing during a time when we didn't have the internet or social media. They nailed it. Hell, I even remember drawing their logo on my school agenda, my backpack, and everywhere I would find a empty space. I have been a fan since 1995 (I believe), and have purchased many singles, t-shirts (which I still have one left, a long sleeved one, so worn down, it nearly evaporates when someone looks at it), and even special editions of CDs. You know those tins that came with stickers, chains, etc. I wasn't a fan because of the ladies on the stage, because that didn't do anything to me, but the music did appeal to me. I think I did witness them once in the 90s at the Peppermill in Heerlen, but don't ask me when it was, as I can't remember. But I've spent many of nights in the Peppermill, so I must have seen them, as they were nearly there every other week! Now the band/group has released a shit ton of records, and if you were to make one mix out of all their records, the mix would be insanely long. So instead of one solid mix, you can find three mixes. So depending on how you feel, you can go for number 1, 2 or even 3. Or if you feel lucky, play them all, and let RTC take over your life, as they did during the 90s. But which tracks are in this second instalment? Well, these bad boys: Rotterdam Terror Corps feat MC Raw - Guess Who's Back (Intro) Rotterdam Terror Corps - Here Comes The Drumz Rotterdam Terror Corps & Headbanger - Psycho Game Rotterdam Terror Corps & Headbanger - Taking U On A Trip (Remastered MR033) Rotterdam Terror Corps - The Need To Feed Rotterdam Terror Corps - Beyond our Minds Rotterdam Terror Corps - Hardcore Gladiators Rotterdam Terror Corps - The Legacy Rotterdam Terror Corps - God Is A Gabber Rotterdam Terror Corps - Bangin' Your Fist Rotterdam Terror Corps & DJ Palu - Are You Prepared To Die? Rotterdam Terror Corps - Fear Rotterdam Terror Corps - Fear The Sound (Remastered MR033) Rotterdam Terror Corps - RTC Mash Up (2013 Remastered Mix) Rotterdam Terror Corps - Reeducate The Competition (Respect The Core) Rotterdam Terror Corps - Insanity (2013 Remastered Mix) Rotterdam Terror Corps & Dione - Man Made Massacre Rotterdam Terror Corps - Hardcore In Mijn Oren Rotterdam Terror Corps - Hardcore In Me Oren (2013 Refix) Rotterdam Terror Corps & Paul Elstak - Demonic State (In Heaven) (2013 Remastered Mix) Rotterdam Terror Corps & Paul Elstak - Time To Kill vs Skull Dominion (2013 Remastered Mix) Rotterdam Terror Corps - Troublemaker Rotterdam Terror Corps feat MC Raw - In De FIk Rotterdam Terror Corps feat The Wishmaster - I'm Not The One MF Rotterdam Terror Corps - Stomp Ya Feet Rotterdam Terror Corps - Gatekeeper Rotterdam Terror Corps - Are You Prepared To Die (Refix 2017) Rotterdam Terror Corps - Feesten Tot Ik Sterf (2015Mastermix) Rotterdam Terror Corps & Dione - We Make You Feel... Rotterdam Terror Corps feat Mike Redman - RTC Is The Legacy Rotterdam Terror Corps vs Dione - Destiny Rotterdam Terror Corps vs Dione - Survivors Rotterdam Terror Corps feat The BeatKrusher - Stage Dive Rotterdam Terror Corps feat The Wishmaster & MC Jeff - Rules Don't Apply Rotterdam Terror Corps & Paul Elstak - Rotterdamn Rotterdam Terror Corps & Minupren - Pinkest Popcorn Rotterdam Terror Corps - The Final Part Of Raveworld (2019 Refix) Rotterdam Terror Corps feat Dione - Harder Than A Hooligan Rotterdam Terror Corps feat Dione - On Fire Rotterdam Terror Corps vs Hyrule Ware & MC Jeff - Alien Invasions Rotterdam Terror Corps vs SRB feat Mike Redman - Bring Back The Terror Rotterdam Terror Corps vs SRB - Dirty Bastards Rotterdam Terror Corps feat Estasia - Blood Moves Rotterdam Terror Corps vs SRB feat Mannekoor Terrorspore - We Keep Coming Rotterdam Terror Corps & SRB - Release Your Anger Rotterdam Terror Corps vs SRB - Attack The Flow Rotterdam Terror Corps vs SRB - Booze & Dope (Drank & Drugs Bootleg) Rotterdam Terror Corps - Outro (Live In Italy) (Remastered MR033) This tracklist did really hurts my wrists. Bloody hell, copy pasting didn't work, so I had to fully type the bloody bugger, and now my left wrist is fucked. Thanks RTC... All jokes aside, the tracks are mostly solid as a rock. Some are a tad harder compared to the other, some are just 'jokes', bare jokes. Not tracks that will go down in history as the most memorable and most amazing Hardcore classics of all time, but just OK to stomp your feet to. And sometimes that's the only thing you need to do: stop worrying about life and everything in it, and stomp your feet until your feet start to bleed excessively. Stomp your feet. And that's certainly what I did. Is this my most favourite part of the RTC era in the Hardcore scene? No. I do prefer the 90s and early 2000s stuff. Those were the most memorable tunes, without a shadow of a doubt. I'm not saying that anything released after 2000 is crap, but it's just different. Still hard as nails, and dope as fuck. Some tracks are OK, some are freaking hard, some a bit too silly. Coolest one? Well, 'Stage Dive' is certainly one amazing record that gets me on the dancefloor every single time. A nice mix with good records. Some tiny mixing errors, but nothing major. Maybe I should check out the two other mixes, maybe they are more my cup of tea? It is still RTC, so all is well. All is well in TCD land. RTC, in the place to be! • Omkara Techichi - Dreamonic Vamperor (2012)

The other day I was listening to an album mix, made by an artist called Groan-er. This got me thinking, and ponder. Sitting there, in my office chair, thinking of what kind of album I had many moons ago. An album so unique and different, and an album that stood out from all the rest. And then it hit me: it was the album Dreamonic Vamperor by Omkara Techichi! Remember this album, or this artist? So ground breaking, so unique, so different: you couldn't categorise him. He was different, and I liked it. His approach to music was so cool and refreshing, and it's what the scene needed. His weird goggles, covered in blood, showing off muscles, bald, and weird outfit. And that's just the physical appearance. The music was also something different, hence why I am talking about the album 10 years since its initial release. Dreamonic Vamperor. Now that's a strong name for an album. Don't even really grasp the meaning of it. It sounds dark and satanic, but then if you look at the actual tracklist, and listen to the actual songs, it could simply be just that. Satanic. Dark. Edgy. And that's just my cup of tea. Listening to this album again brings back brilliant memories, especially the one I can vividly remember: how I discovered Omkara Techichi (also known as Omkara). It was a promo video. And it contained records from this specific album. It was only a short video (which I can't find anymore, anywhere). Short, sweet, and it grabbed my attention. This was different. It was a bloke on stage, bringing the demonic sound to the listeners. And once I've seen the video, I knew I had to listen closely to what Omkara Techichi had to offer. And it was something different, but at the time worth a listen. Even today, 17.01.23, I've been searching for the original video I was talking about, the one that got me excited for this new artist. I can't find it. I'm guessing it got deleted. But anyway, after pestering the man for weeks/months, he sent me a copy of the album, and I listened to it over and over. His refreshing take on Hardcore was exactly what I needed to hear, and it has stood the test of time. No fluffy music, no happy shit, just doom and gloom. Well produced and executed songs, and in a short period of time, he gained success and a wider audience that embraced his darkness. If you have a copy of the album, be blessed. If you don't, feel ashamed. These are the songs on the actual album, if you are curious enough, like I was. CD 1 I Omkara Techichi - The Coming Darkness II Omkara Techichi - The Blood God III Omkara Techichi - Seeds Of Terror IV Omkara Techichi - Death From Above V Omkara Techichi - I Hope They Scream VI Omkara Techichi - Destroy Everyone VII Omkara Techichi - Forces Of Chaos VIII Omkara Techichi - Shield Of Faith IX Omkara Techichi - The Ultimate Heresy X Omkara Techichi - Death Craft XI Omkara Techichi - Angels Of Death XII Omkara Techichi - Thirst For Violence XIII Omkara Techichi - Crushing All Opposition XIV Omkara Techichi - We Rise In Number CD 2 I Omkara Techichi - Sanity Is For The Weak II Omkara Techichi - Annihilate Them All III Omkara Techichi - Prince Of Excess IV Omkara Techichi - Terrors Of Darkness V Omkara Techichi - Your Soul Is Mine VI Omkara Techichi - Welcome To Oblivion VII Omkara Techichi - Bloody Murder VIII Omkara Techichi - Return From Exile IX Omkara Techichi - Infect The Galaxy X Omkara Techichi - We Are The Destroyer XI Omkara Techichi - Feast On Their Flesh XII Omkara Techichi - Glory Of The Emperor XIII Omkara Techichi - Kiss Of Poison XIV Omkara Techichi - The End Of Days The tracks are glorious, and also the track titles. Every single one of them is a masterpiece in itself. It's dark, seriously dark. It's like Omkara opened a book about the Devil himself, and took a few passages, and used them as track titles. Or Star Wars snippets. I found a few, and that makes this album even better. Who doesn't like Star Wars? Truth be told, it would be ace to find out where he got the vocals from. Are they his own? Are they from movies or TV series? It sounds like he's done that, but who knows? Only Omkara does. The songs do provoke anger and hatred inside of me, and my only warning to those who want to listen to this song: do not listen to this and drive at the same time. Before you know it, you are driving 100 mph on a country road. Chance of you getting a speeding ticket is quite high, not to mention you being a danger to others. I do felt like I was flying on the motorway, and I was eating the miles when Omkara was coming out my speakers. So be warned. All jokes aside, this is a very prolific album. An album that you might like, or not. He's an acquired taste, this Omkara. I found his darker and slightly more 'mature' Hardcore a bit refreshing, and more my cup of tea. The dark lyrics didn't do much to me, but they did add a lot of depth to each song. I'm not a very sadomasochistic person, but I can see others having that appeal. And also I'm not into Hell and Heaven, but I can imagine people choosing the darker side. Hell, even Luke Skywalker has to make that decision. He chooses light, but he's a tad weak. We all think Darth Vader is the most coolest dude in the galaxy, but even he could not resist the light. What the fuck am I saying, what am I talking about? What I'm trying to say, is that this is a cool disc. The music speaks to me, and all the other bits and bobs are not really applicable to me. But what I can say is that Omkara the producer, has nailed the sound. He came, he saw, and he conquered. This type of music is so underrated, and so is Omkara. I honestly would like this Satanic and obscure type of Hardcore to return, as it deserves a wider audience to appreciate it. If you are into this, we are like minded. And you should embrace the power that is Omkara. The best record? Fuck, that's difficult. But I choose 'Seeds Of Terror'. Just so damn fucking good. Artist: Omkara a.k.a. • Millennium Kore (2023)

Started the day with a nice mix, which started with a few UK Hardcore anthems and ended the mix with some harder Hardcore anthems. That got me hyped up to the max, and got me eager to listen to some stuff from my youth (fuck me, it makes me sound old). And I instantly remembered, I have stored a mix under my favourites only a day ago, one that might grab my balls, gives them a spin, and punches my head hard. Don't know where the 'ball' bit comes from, but you get it, right? You know what I'm saying? Music can grab you by the balls... obviously in a good way! And of course I go straight back to the Millennium Hardcore sound. The DJ of the mix in question, Fusco, has made a very interesting mix, with a lot of ear demolishing records. And according to a short description on Soundcloud, he's got good memories about the Millennium era and the sound Hardcore music generated. For me it's the same. Yes, early Hardcore might be the coolest thing out there, the originator, but it is the Millennium sound for me, that intensified my love for Hardcore music. I have to concur whatever Fusco is saying. The style was just so dam good, and it was ground breaking. It was new, fresh, and well needed, after its initial death in 1998/1999. We needed a new approach to the sound, and henceforth came Millennium Hardcore. More adulty, more grown up. No fucking about, just pure Hardcore. But also still developing itself. Even to this day, the music is moving and growing. That's what makes Hardcore so great. But nothing can beat the Millennium sound. And after a quick look at the tracklist, I know that Fusco's mix won't disappoint. He went into his record box, and got out the classics. The big boys, the big records. The records that took the world by storm. You will certainly love this mix! DJ Nosferatu & Endymion - All The Way Up Scott Brown - Bass Be Louder DJ Promo feat Trickstyle - What U Want Delta 9 - My Brain E-Noid - Hellparty The Impostors - No Escape Virus - Evil Is Among Thee DJ Ruffneck & Juggernaut - LSD User (Endymion Remix) Meagashira - Swarm Bodylotion - How Much Can You Take? (Catscan Remix) DJ Dione - Human Infestation G-Shock - Demons (DJ Promo Remix) Catscan - The Agency DJ Nosferatu - Fuck The Prejudice You know it's going to be a great mix, when one of the biggest records of the Millennium was put in the mix. And you know which one I'm talking about, right? If you don't, you might be a bit too young to remember. But 'Demons' by G-Shock, remixed by Promo, has to be one of the most recognisable Millennium anthems of all time. I was going to say, it's not all doom and gloom, but it is, in a way. The music was a tad darker and edgier, and I really like it. And Fusco's selection is truly great. It's got the big records by well established names, and also an anthem in here I truly find highly underrated. It had the potential to be the greatest song from the Millennium era, but it never became as big as it should have been. Any guesses to which song I'm referring to? It is of course 'Evil Is Among Thee' by Virus. Brilliant track. Brilliant. All the other 13 records are great too! This mix truly encompasses the Millennium sound. Millennium in a nutshell. And it's great. It brings back many memories. Nothing, and I mean nothing, can beat the Millennium sound. Nothing. Thanks Fusco for yet another amazing mix. And it's free to download too! • Maximum Overload Promo Mix 2 (2023)

A new week has already been with us, and we have entered the glorious day, which most of us know as Tuesday. Yesterday was Blue Monday, the most depressing day of the year. Let's not talk about yesterday, as it might make us depressed. Let's talk about something happy, and talk about a mix I found on social media, and it came with a tracklist. It's made by Doddy, a name I've not encountered before. Never heard of Maximum Overload either, but were you expecting me to know literally everything? I am not a human Wikipedia! I love finding new mixes by new artists, and this one can certainly be seen as new in many ways. New artist, new mix.. And it's filled with records I've not come across before (well, I've heard a few of them, but most of them are new). And it reminds me of how UK Hardcore mixes used to be. Starting off with the happiness, and ending with the raw and rough Hardcore. Those were the standards for a UK Hardcore mix. Always, and I mean always, end with a bit of Gabber. Doddy, the one behind this mix, certainly made a very interesting mix, with a lot of tracks I've not heard before. So many unknown anthems. This supposed to be a promo mix for something called Maximum Overload, and it has sparked my enthusiasm. If the tracks look good, do they all sound good, mashed together in an hour long mix? Is it worth it, listening to this, on the day after the most depressing day of 2023? Only one way to find out! Diakronik & Alaguan - Love Me Deeply Pokkun - Not Over Darren Styles, Prospect & Becci - Driving Me Crazy Dougal & Gammer - Nobody Likes The Records THC - Blue Remix Re-Con - Right Here, Right Now 2011 (Original Mix) Darren Styles & Mark Sixma feat Noubya - Louder Summer Jae - Oblivion Technikore - We Don't Talk JDH - Get Down Mau P - Drugs From Amsterdam (Riko Remix) THC - Set You Free Visa - Fly Away (Paul Dreamz Remix) Squad-E & Ben Critic - Plz Tell Me Dy5on feat Andy L - Loosing Myself (Exclusive HH7 Mix) Kel X-Cyte - Nothing To Fear (Audio Nitrate Remix) Angerfist & N-Vitral - Bare Knuckle Fist Andy The Core & Ender - Hari Hari Neophyte - You Can't Kill Me Angerfist - What Happened This is certainly an interesting looking tracklist. And it has opened my eyes. My previous statement was basically bullshit, as I do know more tracks, more than I mentioned. So I do apologise. I was full of shit, but that can happen... The main question now, is a simple one: is this a good mix? And a follow-up question could be: do I prefer the good ol' UK Hardcore tracks, or the Gabber tracks? Do I, in short, like 75% of the mix, or the last 25%? Difficult question, but not difficult to answer. Answer? I do prefer the happier side of this mix. I am a Gabber fanatic, but the UK Hardcore tracks just get me moving a bit more. And yes, it's a good mix. One that will get you going through today, that's for damn sure. A good selection by Doddy. Not all tracks move me as much as they should. There are a few tracks in here which I do not like, but that's just my personal preference (or lack of). 'Hari Hari' is such a dumb record, and I dislike the 'Set You Free' song, as the N-Trance version sucks massive donkey balls. But it's not just all doom and gloom! Now the question is: what track do I prefer the most? Well, to me it's 'Driving Me Crazy'. Takes me back to the glorious Dubcore days. A solid mix, and a very cool one. I am new to this concept, but I'm liking it, and so should you! Check it out, and another bonus: it's downloadable! • Thunderdome 2022 | Drokz

On the 10th of December 2022 a party took place at the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht, NL. You might have heard of it. It's called Thunderdome, and they were celebrating 30 days of Hardcore. And Marc Acardipane's set was the first one I listened to, and now there's another set, which you can find on YouTube, by another legend. His name is Drokz, a.k.a. Opa Drokz, a.k.a. Ritchie Gambino, a.k.a. many other names he goes by in life. His set was uploaded 2 days ago, and I was one of the first witnessing it (I think I was number 79 viewer). And within only a handful of hours, the set views exploded! Already 20k plays, but for good reasons! It's a set by Drokz, for fuck sake!! And he had the last set on the mainstage. 30 minutes of Drokz, to close off the party. That, to me, sounds absolutely epic. And Drokz is the main man, who's been there and done literally everything. You name it, he's done it. One man who's got Hardcore flowing through his whole body. Each fibre is filled with the Hardcore enzyme. He's definitely the one you think about, if you think of the style. He is the man who ended Thunderdome 2022 with such a fantastic set, one always seen as a difficult set. Who wants to end a party with a set, when most people are already halfway asleep, knackered to the core, or already on their way home? But Drokz made sure that the last set was always one you needed to stay for. And judging the video, a lot of people stayed for this set. He always makes sure that those that stayed, get the best experience. A solid end. A way to end a night out. One more time, giving 200% just to get you through the set, and why not? You've paid the big bucks for this event, why not enjoy it from the beginning to the end, and why does the end need to be boring? Fuck boring! Drokz is a full on Terror maniac, but also loves a bit of Hardcore here and there. And during this set, he brings both a bit of new, and a bit of nostalgia. He starts off the set with a Tails and Noizer dedication song, and continues with excellent, power anthems songs, and ends the set with the final fucking track that certainly gets the speakers blown into smithereens. But which tracks did he play? You are curious now, yes? Tails & Noizer - Early Rave Mix By Drokz Dione - The Switch (Custom Made 200BPM Version by Dione) Drokz - Ode Aan De Gabber Drokz & DRS - Hit Hard Neophyte & Drokz - Dit Is Mijn Leven Poley Tight - Shoot These Pranksters (Drokz Remix) Drokz - This Is Dedication Rob Gee - Realm Of Natas (System Overload Remix) Beatsbomber - Trip To Fantasy Alpha & The Omega - Gimme More Drokz & Da Mouth Of Madness - The Veterans Are Rocking Drokz & Detest - Beerpressure The Illegal Alien (3 Steps Ahead) - My Secret Fantasy Neophyte & Drokz - Sloop Die Speakers This is certainly a banging set. But you know it's in good hands when opa Drokz comes last. He makes sure that the survivors of the night, those still present, are treated with the respect they deserve. They danced throughout the night, and should be given another present, the final present of the night: one bad ass fucking set! The last few minutes of Thunderdome. You have to, as a DJ, give the crowd literally everything you've got. The biggest, baddest, and roughest records in your record box (or USB stick, whatever you use). And Drokz brought the heat. He started off with an excellent track, dedicated to Tails and Noizer, and ended with 'Sloop Die Speakers', which got the crowd screaming those words out loud (which resulted in Drokz having a cheeky smile on his face). But the one track that took me and caught me off guard, was 'Hit Hard'. Fucking hell Drokz & DRS. When I spotted Sylvester Stallone's voice, I thought 'this is going to be bad as fuck', but then, the Acid kicked in. The acid vibes from the early 90s were present with the newstyle beats and bass, but the acid element of the record just threw me off. And in all honesty, I've been listening to this specific record over and over. Definitely the BEST song in this set, closely followed by the appreciation song, and the end song. A wicked set. I've not had the pleasure to be there, but I wish I was. Just to experience DJ Drokz behind the decks, and hear 'Hit Hard' coming at me, at lightspeed. A fucking big set, but opa never disappoints. He might be 50, 60, or 70.. he is still as hard as nails. And truly the legend we need to cherish in our scene. • Ectomorph - 2005 Classic UK Hardcore (2020)

I woke up this morning, and craved some early Millennium UK Hardcore tracks. Especially tracks from around 2005. And can you believe it, I already saved a few mixes last week, for me to check out at a later stage? That came in handy, didn't it? And you all appreciate a bit of the old, am I right? Especially when it's tracks that are slightly underappreciated. But yeah, 2005 was a glorious year for UK Hardcore, and the DJ behind this mix (Ectomorph) made this mix as interesting as possible, as it's nearly 2 1/2 hours long, and containing 41 records. And I love myself a mix with a lot of records. And I love UK Hardcore from around that time period. I only knew of its existence a few years before, as it's never been big in NL, so I had a lot of catching up to do. But once I do fell in love, I fell in love HARD. It became the main source for me, and I listened to it on a daily basis. Purchased many CDs (which had to be shipped from the UK to NL, thanks to Satisfaction record store in Heerlen), and played all the albums over and over. I absorbed the style like a blooming sponge. So many great tunes were released during the early years of the noughties. You might think the same, or disagree with me, which is fine. If you love the earlier stuff (released in the 90s), that's cool too. I still need to listen to more stuff from that era, as it's been mostly forgotten by myself. I love to stick around the time period I discovered and already adore. What has he got in store for us, mister Ectomorph? Well, it's obviously going to the UK Hardcore anthems from 2005 (there about). But you want to know which ones, right? Gammer - A New Feeling Gammer, In Effect & Andy L - We Come Alive Dougal & Gammer - Crackwhore Dee Dee - Forever (Stu Allan Remix) Stormtrooper - Addicts Storm & Euphony - Pure Perfection Storm & Euphony - First Kontakt Hixxy & Styles - Rushins Stormtrooper & Dair - Do It Like That Gammer & G Spencer - Substance Hixxy & Menis - Can U Feel It? So many forgotten/underrated gems! And they aren't just your bog standard records, they are fucking mint records by well established names! It's a glorious mix with awesome records, and we've got Ectomorph to say 'thank you' to. A good selection, with big UK Hardcore anthems, and some might be a bit more known, but the majority are underrated, for no apparent reason. It is cool to hear these songs again. Most of them are on those compilations I purchased back in the day, and some are on discs I cannot play anymore, because the scratches ruined everything. So the only use for these CDs was for them to be coasters. Couldn't play them at all anymore. The scratches were just too severe. But it brings back a smile on my face. It contains a lot of excellent tunes by excellent producers. Ectomorph's selection is great, and a great reminder of what 2005 had in store for the raving community. Was it the best year in the noughties? What's your opinion of it? Do you prefer this year, or other years? Or are you really not freaking bothered: as long as it's UK Hardcore, it doesn't matter. Great mix! Got nothing else to add! Now I'm going to scour the internet for more mixes like this one. Could even be more on Ectomorph's Soundcloud page, who knows? Best record? 'Testing 1-2' by Dougal & Gammer. Never heard it before, but was pleasantly surprised by how good it sounds! • Black Terror (ALBUM MIX) (2020)

What the fuck is this? Well, I was asking myself the same question. This is an album mix, containing records from the album 'Black Terror', by Polish producer Groan-er. I've never seen or heard of this album, and never heard of this producer. I think my curiosity got the best of me, when I browsed Soundcloud. I saw it, saved it to listen to it later, and now I am. And I don't know what I'm feeling right now. You know something is messed up, when I'm even thinking 'what the fuck am I listening to? What the fuck is this?' But, don't get me wrong, I do love myself a bit of Terror. But this, what you are about to listen to, is beyond that. It is different, and you must be a specific kind of person who appreciates the hardest of hardest. This isn't music for those who can't handle anything hard, rough and tough. Basically, you need to have emerged from the depths of Hell to appreciate this mix. Satan himself approves this kind of music. I had the same feeling a few years ago when I discovered an artist called Omkara Techichi. Weird as fuck, but after a while I got hooked onto his sound and style. Groan-er is currently an artist who I know nothing about, and his music can only be described as weird. There's an element of surprise in each song, taken from his album, but if that's a good thing or bad thing, that's up to you, the reader/listener. So, now you would like to know which songs are in this mix? Well, here you go: Groan-er - Mottling & Gurgling Groan-er - Satan Is Jesus Groan-er - VII Groan-er - The Beast Groan-er - Candyman Groan-er - No Terror No Life Groan-er - Fury Groan-er - Negative Thoughts Seeker Groan-er - Anger Power Manipulation (Dedicated to Ed Kemper) Groan-er - Injected Your Brain 2 Groan-er - Najwyższa Siła Groan-er - Ręka Diabła If this isn't the kind of music played in the deepest depths of Hell, I don't know what they play there. It's already a cesspit of madness and disparity. If this isn't on Satan's play list, what is? You cannot have it any deeper, darker, and masochistic. I am not saying that weather outside has been glorious, but at least it hasn't been dreadful. It happened the second I pressed play, and Groan-ers songs came at my, at light fucking speed! I knew beforehand that the songs were Terror/Speedcore focussed, but fuck me sideways: this isn't what I was expecting. I feel like I need to bash my brains with something sharp and pointy, and do it until I bleed ferociously. And dance as fast like never before, until the skin of my feet is torn off, and the only thing I'm still standing on, are the bones in my feet. This is insane. Not always a fan of guitars in anything Hardcore/Terror related, but it seems to be OK in Groan-er's songs. He's got some more 'slower' sounding songs, which causes less headaches. 'Satan Is Jesus' is a damn good record. I really like that one. The others are still good, but fuck me, it can be a bit too much. As dark as this I've not seen or heard before. If you like your music to be so damn hard, your ears start to bleed? Well, this is the album for you! I'll revisit this mix in a few days/weeks/months, and if my views change, I'll amend this review slightly (for the good or bad). But for now, 4 out of 5 stars, is still good! • House #001 - Back 2 My Roots (2018)

Apologies for being late. Or, it's not even that I'm late, but I've been absent. I should have submitted more reviews, but I have been a bit quiet. There might have been a few mixes I've been listening to over and over, and I was getting myself hyped up, to write about them. The first mix I listened to at least a million times, is an old mix by Vamos, done 5 years ago, and it's not his standard UKG focussed mix, but a House focussed mix. I checked his Soundcloud page, and at the moment I cannot see a follow-up mix (as this is numbered as number 1 mix). But don't worry: the first (and only) mix in this serious is a very big one! I highly recommend this mix. I've been listening this since the day I discovered it, and it has disappointed me. I know Vamos mainly for his Bassline/UKG style mixes, and there's quite a few on his page, but this House driven mix is certainly one you need to check out. I am a fan of House music, but not of the present day House. Not saying I dislike it, but I don't hear enough of it, to have an opinion. And since the mid 2000nd, I started to loose interest in it. I find certain music styles suitable in clothing shops. You always hear them when you go shopping. Maybe it entices you to purchase more? I am not sure, but you always hear these funky House anthems, and via this I am a bit up to date with the current House scene. Every so often you hear them on adverts too, and when you do, they remain in your head for bloody hours! But sometimes you come across a mix that looks interesting initially, but when you press play, it takes over every single thing in your life, and embeds itself in your body. In each single fibre can you hear, feel, and experience the music. This is the mix that did exactly that to me. And I'm not kidding. But what kind of House anthems are in here? Again, I'm a House lover but not a connoisseur, so most of the names aren't known to me, but maybe you know them? Maybe it's an age thing. Sammy Porter - True Colours Gorgon City feat MNEK - Ready For Your Love Kiesza - Hideaway Mike Mago & Dragonette - Outlines (Chris Lorenzo Remix) AlunaGeorge - You Know You Like It (Tchami Remix) Jessie Ware - Champagne Kisses (TCTS Remix) Disciples - On My Mind Tchami feat Kaleem Taylor - Promesses (Preditah Remix) Gorgon City - Imagination James Hype feat Kelli-Leigh - More Than Friends Foxes - Body Talk (Bakermat Remix) Secondcity - I Wanna Feel Low Steppa feat Kelli-Leigh - Runnin' Duke Dumont - The Giver (Reprise) AutoErotique - I Get Up Riddim Commission feat D Double E - Dem Tings Dere Route 94 - Forget The Girl Shift K3Y - I Know Marshall Jefferson - Move Your Body (Tchami Tribute) Martin Solveiq - +1 Jessie Ware - Say You Love Me (Gorgon City Remix) Ferreck Dawn - Love To Deep Blonde feat Karen Harding - Feel Good (It's Alright) This is a glorious mix. If you haven't heard it already, be ready to be blown away. And to think that these are already a few years old! Can't believe it, time flies by too damn quickly, doesn't it? Vamos grabs your attention, and keeps you moving. And it has certainly made me move. I woke up at 6am this morning, and it's now roughly 1pm, and I've had this mix on for hours. I am really in awe with the tracks selected by Vamos. He keeps the entertainment level extremely high, and I wish there were more mixes like this one online. This is a very cheerful, exciting, and overall a good solid mix. Yes, it's got a few tiny mixing errors, but really nothing you should think about. It's all about the music in this mix, and Vamos' selection is truly amazing! So many fucking epic House anthems. Dancefloor anthems. And even though I'm not familiar with the artist names, the music speaks to me, and makes me very happy. I'm sitting here, WFH, and I've got a smile on my face, and singing along to these songs too. Who needs Vamos' Bassline/UKG mixes when he's got this bad boy mix? The records are solid. And two really stand out for me. 'Hideaway' by Kiesza, and 'Feel Good' by Blonde feat Karen Harding. My God, how can you sit still and not sing along to these tunes? If you need something that will certainly cheer you up, check out this. Trust TCD, you know my comments are legit! • Multigroove - The Ultimate Rave Selection Volume 1 (Multigroove) (2022)

The first working week of 2023 is about to end. Just a few more hours, we can hold onto the thought of the upcoming weekend. It is so close, I can almost taste it! And to sign off the first week, why not end it on a high note? And before you start commenting, let me remind you that sometimes your opinion doesn't matter, ok? Yes, this is the second mix I have reviewed in less than 2 weeks, done by Marc Acardipane, but is that a problem? Have you got an issue with the Godfather of Hardcore? No, didn't think so. So let's move on, and focus on this glorious gift he's given us for 'free'! A mix CD, and it's not even a mix CD from the 90s, one released in 2022! How about that? Yes, only a handful of days ago (back in 2022, remember that year?), I found his Thunderdome 2022 set, and reviewed it. Before that, it was his Hard Dance NYC set, and before that it was the Heroes Of Hardcore album, which he had one disc to himself, and the other two discs were mixed by The Stunned Guys and Promo. Oh, and don't forget his Thunderdome Hardcore Stream from 2020, and his 'Reclaim Your City' set, or his set at Defqon.1, back in 2015. Yeah, I do myself a bit of Marc Acardipane, but truth be told, he's the pioneer that shaped the Hardcore scene. He's the legend that gave us countless Hardcore anthems, anthems so strong, they stood the test of time! And you can say whatever you like, but he knows what the raving community wants to hear. So when Multigroove decided to release a new album, they went to the Godfather, and asked if he wanted to compose/mix it for them. And the result? Well, he did it, and they released it back in 2022. And at first glance, you might be thinking (wrongly though) that it's filled with records only made by Marc. I thought exactly that, and I was wrong, when I heard songs by Miro, and Da Bulldozer Project. Or, for a brief moment, I was questioning myself. I know he has got a billion aliases, but was he part of Da Bulldozer Project? I get why he chose these songs: they are by the same people he's worked with for so long. And they are fucking solid Hardcore anthems. But which tracks are on this album? You are curious, aren't you? Mescalinum United & The Mover - We Have Arrived (Original Mix) Marc Acardipane - 9 Is A Classic (Ultimate Rave Remix) Marc Acardipane - Disaster Area (Original Mix) Marc Acardipane - Immortal (Original Mix) Marc Acardipane - Stereo Murder (Original Mix) Marc Acardipane - Bleep Blaster (Original Mix) Miro - Purple Moon (Miro Remix) Marc Acardipane feat DJ Cirillo - Deal Wit' Beats (Original Mix) Dr. Macabre - Poltergeist Da Bulldozer Project - Something Special (Original Mix) Marc Acardipane - Intruder (Original Mix) Marc Acardipane - E-Ternal (Original Mix) Miro - Shining (Original Mix) Miro - Bass Machine (Original Mix) Miro - E-Shifter (Original Mix) Marc Acardipane - A New Mind (Cold Rush Phuture Mix) Da Bulldozer Project - Arise (Original Mix) Dr. Macabre - Danse Macabre Marc Acardipane - Into Sound (Marshall Masters Remix) Miro - First Bite (Original Mix) Marc Acardipane - Return To Zero (Original mix) Marc Acardipane feat The Ultimate MC - I Like It Loud (Original Mix) Marc Acardipane feat The Ultimate MC - Hustlers For Life (Live At Club X) Marc Acardipane - Atmos-Fear (Original Mix) Miro - Havin' Sex (Original Mix) Marc Acardipane - Up & Down (Original Mix) Marc Acardipane - World's Famous MF (Violent Ego) Marc Acardipane - Pitch-Hiker (Original Mix) Marc Acardipane - Drunken Piece Of Shit (Mix 1) Marc Acardipane feat Dick Rules - Are You With Me (Energie Hallen Mix) Marc Acardipane - Slaves To The Rave (PCP Mix) Marc Acardipane - 6 Million Ways To Die (Original Mix) Marc Acardipane - Hardcore Muthafucka (Original Mix) Marc Acardipane - At War (Remix) Marc Acardipane - Greatest Work, Pt. 1 (Original Mix) I started listening to this at 7am, and it's now nearly 4pm, and I'm still listening to this. It's been on a continuous loop ever since I opened my eyes today, and I've felt never better! It is exactly what I wanted to hear. This album really contains the records that define a generation long lost. And to me it is indeed the ultimate rave selection. Can't wait for the next instalments, to hear more rave anthems. But can they beat Marc Acardipane's mix? Marc, being the Godfather, has had a huge impact on the scene, and over the years, given us many memorable anthems, most of which you can find in this mix. Of course, he wouldn't be able to do a set without the magical 'Stereo Murder', 'I Like It Loud', and more, and they are classics. Classics that won't become annoying if you hear them more than once. Timeless Hardcore classics. But he's done so much more. OK, there are a few stinkers in here. Unfortunately it's Miro's 'Having Sex' that tops the list of the poorest songs in this mix. Well, looking at the tracklist again, it's the ONLY poor song in this mix. But now the quest starts: which one is the greatest? You want my opinion? Well, it is 'Disaster Area'. That, to me, is a true dancefloor smasher, and if you are on some kind of narcotics, I can only imagine you experiencing the weirdest feeling in life. I am sober, but even I feel like my head is spinning and I'm floating in air, from one side to the other. Bouncing up and down. It's the speeding up and slowing down that freaks me out. But in a good way! This is truly an astonishing mix CD, and even though you can listen to it for free on Soundcloud, I would urge you purchase this. Solid songs, solidly mixed together. A truly legendary album, by the legend himself (Marc Acardipane), released on a legendary label (Multigroove). This does define rave music from the 90s, that's for damn sure! • The Technicians - December 2022 - Over 90mins of Techno/Trance....

Happy New Year to all! I hope 2023 will be a great year for us all. We've earned it. And I hope that the end of 2022 was a great one for you all. Hence why I was off for a few days: I've taken the time off to relax, and prepare myself for 2023. My work restarted again, as blogger, and also my standard job. So I needed a break, but now I'm back, and 2023 looks great, in my honest opinion. Why, you might be wondering? Well, because the first mix you are about to listen to, is a great one. And it's one done by The Technicians, which is weird, because for my normal day-to-day job I always speak to technicians... so work haunts me, even when I'm doing reviews.. And from the first second to now, which is roughly 8 hours later, I've been listening to this mix. It's been on a loop. And I've enjoyed every second of it. It's full of Tech Trance/Hard Trance/Trance/Techno anthems, and they are all glorious. All mixed together beautifully by The Technicians. It was uploaded roughly a month ago, and I had it stored under my favourites, to review at a later stage, but now I found the right day for it: a Wednesday when we definitely need some oomph to get us through the rest of the week. I love myself a good, solid mix. One that only improves when it starts again, and repeats itself over and over throughout the day. And today was a challenging day for me. Doing twenty things at the same time, that's certainly not beneficial. So I needed something 'calm' yet motivational, and voila: The Technicians to the rescue. Thanks to these brothers (they are, according to their Soundcloud channel) I am now bouncing up and down, really buzzing. Do you want to experience some buzzing and bouncing too? Check out this tracklist: Intro Christian Smith - Stratosphere (Ronnie Spiteri Remix) (The Technicians Intro Edit) Airwolf Paradise - Don't Hurt Me Baby (The Technicians Bootleg) Uncertain - Renegade (The Technicians Edit) Eli Brown - Can't Stop The Feeling Tony Romanello - Higher (The Technicians Edit) Jay Lumen - Bring The Dish D.Mongalos - Raveline (The Technicians Edit) Filterheadz - Metaphysical Uto Karem - Bang Bang Rudaki - Astana The Yellowheads & HL GRMS - Silence Pinto (NYC) - Dangerous (The Technicians Edit) Billy Hendrix - Body Shine (Will Rees Extended Remix) ID - ID Hardwell - Godd Jordan Suckley - Palermo Gary Beck - I Like It Will Atkinson - Seventh Heaven (Alex Di Stefano Extended Remix) Hil-Lo & DJ Deeon - WANNA GO BANG (Mixing The Vocal) Will Atkinson - Telescope (Maddix Extended Remix) Fred Again x Swedish House Mafia - Turn On The Lights Again (Maddix Remix) Casey Rasch - Double Life Susana - Darkside Of The Moon (Stoneface & Terminal Dark Extended Mix) Giacomo Stallone - Locomotive Mark Sherry - The Release The tracklist doesn't move me as much as it should, but listening to the mix it certainly does MOVE me. The music is fucking solid, and hard as nails when required. I've not heard of The Technicians before, but after hearing this mix (for the 6th time today), I am a fan. And if you are new to The Technicians too, let this mix be some kind of introduction, a showcase of what they are capable of, as this mix contains a few of their own edits. So worth checking out. I can talk for hours, but let's not. The Technicians mix is really a dope as fuck one, and one that you need to listen to, with big ass monitors, and neighbours to annoy. Or just play it in your car, and turn it the fuck up. Blow those speakers and eardrums, who cares? YOLO! The vibe throughout this mix is solid. You just want to burst out into a dance, and you don't want it ever to stop. The tunes are just beyond belief, especially the track called 'Raveline'. Wow, I just went back in time, and I felt like a teenager again. That is truly a wicked edit, and worth being played out loud in the clubs, all over the UK, and also all over the world. The Technicians have certainly fixed my issue. I woke up tired, and now I'm sitting here, hyped as fuck. It could also be because I had a few coffees and energy drinks... who knows? One mix you should certainly check out! It won't disappoint you, trust me! • Littlefoot - This Was UKB - The Sound Of 2 Step Bassline - DJ MIX (2022)

UK Bassline. Do you remember it? Who doesn't remember it? Maybe if you aren't into UKG or any related styles, you might have missed the glory days of Bassline, but I didn't, and I am glad that I experienced it fully. Unfortunately I've never been to a Bassline event: I did sign up to go to Niche, but then it got closed. And I don't know what happened after to Bassline, but it just disappeared from my life completely. Maybe I've moved on, maybe it evolved into something different. Who knows? But at least I was there during its heydays. I might not have been to the clubs where UKB was played in, but at least I listened to everything the internet had to offer. And I remember scouring the internet for new mixtapes. They were literally everywhere, and I've got thousands of files stored on my computer, all Bassline mixes from back in the day. And most of them won't even be played anymore, but at least I've got them. Nah, all jokes aside, I do go to my UKB folder sometimes and play the finest mixtapes I can find. It seemed to be a hype, a phase. And it's now hidden away forever. But not if it's up to certain DJs keeping it alive on Soundcloud, YouTube, Mixcloud, and other platforms. One of the mixes I've recently saved (to check out at a later stage) was this one, by someone called Littlefoot. And the list contains the records I heard back in the day, by the producers that rocked the UKB style! Worth checking out! Emvee & Abi - Look Into My Eyes (Falling) Burgaboy - Blooper DJ Q - G6 1st Born - Imagine TRC - Back To Fluff Littlefoot - Sell My Soul Emvee - Robotnic Dub DJ Q - Little Man J.G - Degeneration Sequence (1st Born Remix) Burgaboy - What's My Name TRC - OO AA EE P Money, Blacks & Slickman - Boo You TRC - Skipping Rope (Littlefoot Remix) TRC & Teresa - I Don't Like Your Girlfriend DJ Pantha - 10 Outa 10 J.G - Degeneration Sequence Burgaboy & Miss Fire - Take Off Your Clothes Burgaboy - Starship TRC - Ghoulies Littlefoot - 4th Dimension Burgaboy & Donaeo - Where's My Mandsem At? Wow. Haven't heard these songs in a while. Some I've not even encountered before! But whatever my thoughts are on these songs, hearing this wobbling sound just takes me back to the good old days. The sound is just so damn good, but 'dated' too! You can tell it's from the early years of Bassline. You know that makes sense. Whoever Littlefoot might be, they made a cracking mix. It contains big records, 2 Step focussed songs, by the finest UKB artists, like Burgaboy, TRC, Emvee, 1st Born, Q, and more. And it brings a smile on my face. We need more mixes like this one. More of this wobbling sounds. And we need to hear this 'early' Bassline sound again. It needs to be revived. I bet that no one would hesitate to jump onto the dancefloor. UKB is just so damn cool, and so groovy too. Especially when you hear tracks like 'Little Man'. Who can sit still when this one is being played out loud, eh? A very wobbly, happy, and bouncy mix to end the day with. Chill, and enjoy. And think of the glorious lost days of Bassline. Please, bring the sound back. Right NOW! • Quosh Records - Bouncy Anthems! (2019)

Only a few weeks ago did I review a Sy & Unknown appreciation mix, and now it's time for the label they run, to have its own appreciation mix. Quosh Records, a legendary name in the UK Hardcore scene, had a lot of anthems released on the label. Not just by Sy & Unknown, but also by a lot of other excellent producers, such as Joey Riot, DJ Kurt, Ian Van Dahl, CLSM, Gammer, Technikore, and many more. The label released so many great hits, and they are still loved and cherished, many years after their initial release date. To me, it was the label with the biggest vocal anthems, but they weren't just the label with ONLY vocal anthems, also the more bouncier anthems too. And Alex Threat made a mix with only bouncy anthems, released on Quosh. I thought this was a recently published mix on Soundcloud, but it's already three years old. Someone must have reposted it, and that's the reason why I'm now seeing this mix, and listening to it. Whoever it was, thanks! I really wanted to hear some Quosh Records, and now my day has been made slightly better! I do love non vocal anthems, but when it's a Quosh Records anthem, I do prefer the vocally stuff, as they are 100 times better. More emotions are put into a song when vocals are added, especially female vocals. They just enlighten the song immediately. But that's not what we are getting with this mix. It's just the bouncier anthems, the uplifting stuff without anyone singing. Just the bounce. If bouncier UK Hardcore is your thing, scroll down for the tracklist and the Soundcloud player! Sy & Joey Riot - Bawm Boogah! Sy & Unknown - Hardcore Sy & Technikore - Keep The Faith Sy & Unknown - The Steel Finger The Vampire - Technostorm (Re-Con Remix) DJ Kurt - Rock Ya Hardcore 2008 Sy & Unknown - Maniac Psycho (Robbie Long & Stormtrooper Remix) Sy & Unknown - Gangsta Sy & Technikore - The City Is Mine Sy & Al Storm - Do You Love Your Hardcore? Sy & Joey Riot - F_cking Sh_t Music Sy & Technikore - The Nerve Centre Topvibe vs DJ Sy - Pacman Sy & Unknown - The Knock Bridson & Ganar - All Systems Go Sy & Unknown - What A Great Drug (Dougal & Gammer Remix) Sy & Gammer - (I Think I'm Goin') Outta My Head Sy & Unknown - Move It Ooh, there are some great anthems in here, I completely forgot that they even existed! It's good to find these mixes online: you can reminisce and think of the good ol' days. And with Quosh, it is indeed the case. The label hasn't released anything in about a decade, which is a pity, as it was on top of the world, so to speak. Alex Threat's mix is a good one, with a lot of slammers. The first record in this mix was a bit of a shit one to be fair, but after that one the hits just kept on coming. Especially the songs which had Technikore on them. The sound he created back in the day was phenomenal! He gained many fans for his sound and his approach to UK Hardcore, and the two songs 'The Nerve Centre' and 'The City Is Mine' are certainly the best ones in this mix. I still prefer the vocal records. Sorry, but it's my opinion. These bouncy anthems are cool, and worthy enough to be played at events, but the vocal stuff, nothing can beat those! I'm on the hunt now to find a mix focussed on those anthems. Surely it won't take long for me to find a mix. • Marc Acardipane Live @ Thunderdome 2022 (Live-Recording)

Thunderdome 2022. Or 30 years of Thunderdome. Were you there? Did you experience the madness? Were you brave enough to try and find tickets? As previous editions sold out before I could even spell the word Thunderdome, I didn't even try it. No attempts were made, but looking at the line-up, I wish I went. Fuck me, this was Hardcore Heaven for me. Not only the Godfather of Hardcore was there (Marc Acardipane), but also The Prophet, Nosferatu, Ophidian, Mad Dog, Promo, Drokz, Angerfist, Dione, Panic, Endymion, The Viper, Negative A, Lady Dana, Buzz Fuzz, Bass-D, Ruffneck, Rob, Waxweazle, Vince, Partyraiser, Mindustries, The Outside Agency, I:gor, The DJ Producer, and many, many more. This is pure pornography for the Hardcore fanatic. You cannot have a Thunderdome and NOT have Marc Acardipane play there. How's that even possible? Thankfully for those that attended, he was there. Only for 30 minutes, which is a pity, but at least you get the madness, you get the Godfather playing the best tunes out there. And now, as a gift, a jolly gift, he has given us his Thunderdome XXX set, which you can listen to RIGHT NOW! And I would urge you to, if you want to relive the glory days again. He brought the heat to Thunderdome. His set might have been short, but it certainly left an impact. He's the legend that shaped Hardcore, he's been there since the beginning, and knows his way around the scene. And within those 30+/- minutes he gives us the finest tracks he has ever made. And when I say the finest, I do mean the finest. Fuck me sideways, these songs are tremendous, and they represent my youth fully! We are all slaves, to the rave! Marc Acardipane - Intro Marc Acardipane - Hell-E-Copter (Original Mix) Marc Acardipane feat Da TMC - Don't Touch That Stereo (Extended Mix) Marc Acardipane - A New Mind (Cold Rush Phuture Mix) Marc Acardipane - Return To Zero (Original Mix) Marc Acardipane - Atmos-Fear (Original Mix) Marc Acardipane - Into Sound (Marshall Masters Remix) Marc Acardipane feat The Ultimate MC - I Like It Loud (Original Mix) Marc Acardipane feat The Ultimate MC - Hustler For Life (Original Mix) Marc Acardipane - Pitch-Hiker (Original Mix) Marc Acardipane - Drunken Piece Of Shit (Mix 1) Marc Acardipane - Up & Down (Original Mix) Marc Acardipane - Are You With Me (Energie Hallen Mix) Marc Acardipane - Slaves To The Rave (PCP Mix) Marc Acardipane - Hardcore Muthafucka (Original Mix) Marc Acardipane - At War (Remix) Marc Acardipane - Six Million Ways To Die (Original Mix) These aren't the only records he has ever made. His back catalogue is seriously impressive. Hit after hit, and some even appearing in top 40s all over the world! His name is legendary, and his legacy will remain there for the rest of our lives. Marc Acardipane was, and still is, the finest producer that has ever lived. The ultimate Hardcore legend. The true Godfather of Hardcore. And he's proven himself again at Thunderdome. The set is short, and seriously impressive. The tracks are ALL SOLID. And I'm not exaggerating. Any true die-hard Hardcore fanatic from the first hour knows all these tracks, and have embraced them into their hearts. And during Thunderdome the tone was set, with a brilliant intro, and then going into one of Marc's most underestimated songs 'Hell-E-Copter'. And then it goes into full Marc's mode. Hit after hit. A true pioneer that he was, he shows us what he did during the 90s. Most of us would only dream of achieving this, and he just did it. He made timeless classics that still get played, all over the world. From the early 90s to now. And he used many aliases to hide the true identity of the artist, aliases like Nasty Django, 6 Pack, Ace The Space, Rave Creator, Smash, Pilldriver, Leathernecks, PCP, Inferno Bros, Marshall Masters, and the list goes on. Show your respect to the Godfather of Hardcore, and check out this set. The only side note is that he should be on stage longer than 30 minutes. This is too damn short, but still he brings the heat. He sets the stage on FIRE! • Sound Abuse - Oldschool Sessions #06 (2022)

We go from early Happy Hardcore to Oldschool Hardcore. Maybe it's the algorithm hidden inside of Soundcloud that gives the users of this platform the right music. Who knows. Or maybe it's sheer luck. As I'm not an internet expert, I'm not fully aware of how everything just happens. To me, it could even be little fairies sprinkling their magic dust all over the internet, and poof, everything just happens. But I'm happy for the magic dust being sprinkled: it gives me more fun, hours of pleasure. The next mix is one done by Sound Abuse, and as the title says, it's focussed on the Oldschool. And this sixth instalment brings the heat. Well, I'm only guessing, as I've not encountered the previous five editions. But from just listening to the first few records, I know that this mix is tight. The tracklist is a thing of beauty, that has to be said. Sound Abuse. That's the name of the DJ, but also what most people would say if they were to describe Hardcore music to others, if the people describing it weren't fans of the music. To me it's music from Heaven, and this mix has got the right tracks in them, of which most of them are forgotten, or not played, or just ignored. And the style these were made in, is highly underrated. Check the tracklist out, and you'll see what I mean! Marshall Masters - Return To Zero Headbanger feat Holographic - Mescalin Rave Creator - Black Sunday Da Bulldozer Project - NWO Promo - Dancefloor Hardcore (Hard Anthem Mix) Lekker Syndicate - Space Madness Neophyte - Real Hardcore Turbolenza - I Am The Creator (Past Mix) Dione - Darkness & Brightness Negative A - Revenge Celsius - Angels (Dr. Macabre Remix) EBE Company - Sub Seven (Catscan Remix) DJ Sim - Simbiosis Bass-D & King Matthew vs Lady Dana - Sirenes The Masochist - Let's Go Hardcore Brothers - Smoke Motherfuckers Sound Enhancers - Ill Behaviour D'Spyre - 6.48 Minutes To D'Spyre Korsakoff - My Empty Bottle This is a more spacey sounding Hardcore. I don't know how else to describe it. If you would play it as part of a film soundtrack, it would be suitable in films such as Aliens, Chronicles Of Riddick, and more of these types of films (my mind has just gone blank, hence why I couldn't mention more). But it's more exploratory, if that makes sense. Sound Abuse's selection is tremendously great. Yes, they are oldskool/oldschool anthems, but they are glorious. And not appreciated as much as they should. And when they were initially released, the hype was there, but it died over time. But we should revive them back to life, and get this spacious sounding Hardcore back! A solid mix. And also free to download. It wasn't released especially for Christmas, but it's certainly a present... for my ears! I'm sitting here, in Heaven, and bopping my head and shaking my fat ass around. This is the music I love, adore, and grew up with. More of these mixes please. And if Sound Abuse has got more of these, I shall certainly check them out! A great mix. Fuck it. Just crank up the volume and enjoy it as much as I have! • Bass-D - Happy Hardcore Megamix (2006)

Merry Christmas. I've been off for a few days, but for good reasons. It's the time of the year when we stuff our faces full with everything edible, and watch Christmas films and listen to Christmas songs on the radio 24/7. But now we've landed between Christmas and New Year, and we really don't know what to do, or listen to. Christmas is over, but it isn't. And there aren't many New Year songs (as far as I can tell, it's only ABBA who did a New Year song). So, what to do now? Well, just listen to your old friend TCD, and listen to the following mix! That will get you through the next few days! So, Happy Hardcore, eh? This mix was made by DJ Bass-D, an all time legend in the Happy Hardcore scene back in 2006, and re-released for Rainbow Rave Outdoor, back in 2016. Leave it to Bass-D to make a super duper Happy Hardcore mix. He's an oldskool legend, a real OG in the Happy Hardcore scene. And this mix shows us again why he's the don. 6 years ago uploaded onto Soundcloud, 16.6k plays and counting. Also available on YouTube, where you can find the tracklist. I grew up with Happy Hardcore, so for me it's a personal preference. It's the reason why I always fall back to Happy Hardcore, whenever I require to be slightly happier. It might be a tad cheesier if you compare it to the general Hardcore/Gabber music from the 90s, and you might loath it, but you cannot hide the importance of the music. Hell, I even had a few Happy Hardcore songs played at my wedding last year! That's how important it is. And why this mix made me slightly happier today. But which tunes did Bass-D blow the dust off, and crammed into this mix? Well, these: Marusha - It Takes Me Away (NRG Remix) NRG - I Need Your Love (The Bionaut Remix) Mark 'Oh - Never Stop That Feeling U96 - Heaven Paul Elstak - Life Is Like A Dance (Extended Radio Mix) RC001 - Lady In My Life Sunbeam - Outside World (Sunbeam Remix) Perplexer - Church Of House Interactive - Forever Young Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo - Live At London In Trance - Take On Me Jimmy J & Cru-L-T - Take Me Away Scott Brown vs DJ Rab S - Now Is The Time DJ Demand - Deliverance Headcase - Critical Rhythm (Ultra Sonic Remix) Interactive - Living Without Your Love M Jay & Dan Vee - The Sun Always Shines Naughty Naughty 9 - Deeper Love Jones & Stephenson - The First Rebirth Highlander - Hold Me Now (Bass-D & King Matthew Remix ) Ravers Choice - Total Mayhem Cheddar - Volume 3 U96 - Club Bizarre Seduction - Higher Now (Unknown & Seduction Remix) Vibes & Wishdokta - No More Tears T-Spoon - Smiling Tokyo Ghetto Pussy - To Another Galaxy Network - Words Marusha - Raveland Dune - Can't Stop Raving Syntex - The Glory Of Love Marusha - Somwhere Over The Rainbpw Wonderland - In Our Dreams (Pleasure Mix) Sequential One - Pump Up The Bass Mark 'Oh - Love Song Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo - Together In Wonderland Dune - Hardcore Vibes Brisk - Airhead (SMD Remix) Dune - Are You Ready To Fly Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo - Next To Me Party Animals - Atomic Party Animals - Hava Naquila Mark 'Oh - Tears Don't Lie RMB - Redemption (Microwave Prince Remix) RMB - Spring Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo - Stars Wonderland - Fantasy Of Love Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo - Wonderful Days Beatsquad - Miles Of Smiles Ultra Sonic - Make That Move New Motion - Looking For Love (Brisk Remix) Nightraver & DJ Trevor - Around The World Silky Way - Up Where We Belong Stingray & Sonicdriver - As Cold As Ice 2 Brothers On The 4th Floor - Come Take My Hand Lipstick - Queen Of The Rhythm Lipstick - Fly Away Paul Elstak - Luv U More Paul Elstak - The Promised Land TNT - One Love Microwave Prince - I Need Your Love Bass-D - Use Somebody Nakatomi - Free 2 Brothers On The 4th Floor - Fairytales (Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo Remix) Dyewitness - Masterplan Bass-D & King Matthew - It's Magic Critical Mass - Happy Generation Critical Mass - Believe In The Future Bass-D & King Matthew feat XD - Like A Dream Twin Terror - Get Up & Party (Bass-D & King Matthew Remix) Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo - Fantasy World Rhio - Feeling Your Love Ravers Choice - I Will Always Love You Flamman & Abraxas - I'll Be Your Only Friend Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo - Hardcore Feelings Dyewitness & Nightraver - The Future I had to type the whole tracklist, so my fingers are now hurting like fuck. But it was oh so worth it. It truly was. So many classics in here, and also a shit ton of forgotten records by artists you don't hear from anymore. If this doesn't make you happy, nothing will. And that's a fact. Happy Hardcore is just so blissful, so honestly innocent. Cheerful, and all in all, happy. It can be a tad cheesy, and Bass-D added a few of those in here as well, so don't you worry. The cheese lovers are pleased too. I am really happy after hearing this mix. So many classics. So many underground anthems. He must have dug deep to find these bad boys. Yes, of course the big anthems are in here, but also a lot of the B-sides. And I sometimes prefer them over the A-side records. I do not care if they are cheesy or not. They are so suitable today, the 28th of December. We've just been through a festive period with a lot of too cheerful anthems, so this mix suits this time period extremely well. Another wicked mix by Bass-D, and for that we should honour him! The real OG, the don of Happy Hardcore! Best record? Too damn difficult. You pick one on my behalf! • Thunderdome 2021 - Warm Up Mix By Jehuty

Before you comment, I am fully aware it is 2022, this year's Thunderdome already took place, and that we live in 2022, not 2021. And that the 2022 edition is actually the one that should have taken place in 2021, but due to restrictions they decided to move it one year. My Gawd, it's getting complicated now, but hear me out. It all makes sense, when you think about it. In short, I found this mix only recently, and it was dedicated to Thunderdome 2021, which never took place, but took place one year later... I'm losing the plot now...so let's focus on the mix instead. Jehuty made this dedication mix, with a lot of new Hardcore anthems with the Millennium and Early Hardcore sounds combined, which makes it sound more interesting. I am still getting to grips of what the current Hardcore sounds like, and all its splintered styles like Frenchcore, Uptempo, and more. I am a Hardcore fan, but still cling on the older/earlier sound too much. Maybe I just don't want to grow up yet. But I still gave this mix a go, and I'm certainly not the only one. 10.4k+ plays so far, And after quickly checking the tracklist, I knew most of the artists, so I decided to throw myself into the deep. That, what we call, Hardcore. Jehuty's mix is certainly one that would suit those people that went to Thunderdome. It's a good teaser and it's got a fair few wicked anthems in here. Oops, nearly spoiled the outcome of this review! Let's not jump to conclusions yet, and have a look at the tracklist: Nosferatu - How Far We Can Go Hellsystem & Restrained - Lord Of Justice Paul Elstak - Hardcore Warrior Paul Elstak & Restrained - Toxic People Neophyte & Scott Brown - This One Is For You (Restrained Remix) Chosen Few - Name Of The DJ 2012 (Neophyte & Tha Playah Remix) Diss Reaction - Jiiieehaaaa (Angerfist Refix) N-Vitral - Thunderdome 2017 Mashup Deadly Guns - The Illest Days (Thunderdome Tribute) Guerrillas - Our Legacy (Official Thunderdome 2017 Anthem) INVADE & Alee - Fight For Glory DJ Mad Dog - Laughing Loud Destructive Tendencies & Audiofreq - Misfit Neophyte - Number One Fan (Remake) Wreck Reality - Brain Flip Never Surrender & Restrained - Rave Generator INVADE - Old School Chaos Project - The Devil Deadly Guns - From The Underground (Rave Core) Furyan - A Journey Through Memory Dither - Rave Machine N-Vitral - Hardcore Power Paul Elstak - Cut The Midrange DJ Paul Elstak & Deadly Guns - The Ultimate Paul Elstak Mash-Up N-Vitral & Dither - Ich Will Bass Restrained & Nosferatu feat Rob Gee - Lack Of Creativity DJ Mad Dog - Reset Furyan - Bass Journey (Miss K8 Remix) Killshot & Deadly Guns - Loca I had this on in the car, on my way home, and the speakers were trembling. They were pounding so vigorously, I thought the car windows might break/shatter. Would it be worth it? Hell yeah. Hardcore can never be played at a volume lower than normal. It's MAX or nothing else. Even though I'm an old school fanatic, I do appreciate the 'new' Hardcore more and more each day. And when the new tracks do touch upon the older records by taking snippets from them and updating them to the year of our Lord, 2022, it just makes it sound even better. And the bass is much, much better. It's deeper, harder, and rougher. Obviously the best way to appreciate this, is to be at Thunderdome, and not sit in your car on the M25 around London. But, if you can't get to Thunderdome because it's sold out before you know it, the motorway is the best place to let the beats, bass, and melodies penetrate the chassis. And your eardrums, let's not forget those delicate eardrums. They will be fucked after this mix. Jehuty's mix is dope. Carefully selected these 29 records, and wonderfully mixed together into a 70 minute long mix. And I wasn't a fan before, but I've certainly turned. Why? Well, it's still Hardcore, and it might be new, but still fucking rough and tough. And that's what I need. I can't pick a favourite. Some are really dope as fuck, but there are too many to mention. So fuck it, no favourite today. • M-Project - Early Hardcore Showcase Mix (2022)

Remember the artist M-Project? A Japanese DJ and producer who I first encountered during the days of Powerstomp. Remember that, Powerstomp? Oh, it was so freaking cool. But he wasn't just your standard DJ and producer that made Powerstomp: he was already an established name in the scene, and has been pushing his own stuff forward for years. I started following him on this new journey that led him into the early Hardcore sound, the style I grew up with. And he has had some releases on big labels too, labels such as Mokum Records, KTRA, H2OH, Voodoo Panda, and more. And this isn't the first mix I've ever heard, obviously. And I'm very excited to share his latest mix with everyone reading this. It's an Early Hardcore showcase mix, but what is he showcasing? Well, his own early Hardcore produced songs! Yes, you read it right: M-Project is now indulged into the early Hardcore sound. And it's a glorious thing, for him of course. Another style for him to explore, and flourish in! It isn't your standard early Hardcore music. It's new, fresh, and has this M-Project sound surrounding it. What M-Project has done, is used the early sounds and gave it a twist. His own twist, of course. And it seems that he excels in making early Hardcore music. It does sound so familiar, and yet it's kind of unique. A fresh take on the already existing Hardcore sound from the 90s. Only a short mix, this is, but within those few minutes, you get the finest tunes made by M-Project. Is there anything better than this? This is the perfect present for us all. Should we thank Santa, or M-Project? Or is M-Project Santa C.? Who knows, it's still a mystery! M-Project & Kamikaze - Supermax M-Project - Battlefield (Master) M-Project - Dooms Day (Hardcore Edit) M-Project - Fire To The Roof M-Project & Kamikaze - No More Pain M-Project & Kamikaze - Rave Ting M-Project & Kamikaze - Shake M-Project & Kamikaze - Carry On M-Project & Vau Boy - Over The Top (Remastered) As I've mentioned before, this is a short mix (only 30 minutes long), but in those 30 minutes you get the freshest and newest tunes by M-Project. And if you are into early Hardcore and have heard all those 90s tunes before and are getting a bit 'sick' of those songs, why not try something new and exciting? I do love this mix and each and every song used for it. This mix creates good vibes, and takes me back to the golden years of Hardcore, and drags me back into the present day at the same time. I am floating between the 90s and 20s. M-Project has kept the vibe alive, but gave it a 20s update. A much more refined approach to early Hardcore. Obviously you can hear some other artists in M-Project's songs, as they might have influenced him slightly, but the overall gist is his own. This is M-Project, and this is what he does best. Especially with 'Battlefield'. Not a fan of guitars, but when they disappear, this becomes an all time classic, even thought it's not that old! A solid mix with solid records. Yes, M-Project can make excellent UK Hardcore and Powerstomp anthems, but fuck those genres... early Hardcore please! He seems to understand what makes a track an early sounding Hardcore track, and he's mastered the skills to make new tracks sound old! More of this please! • Godskitchen Trance Classics (2022)

It is Monday. The week has started again, but this time, at the end of the week, we've got something to look forward to. Christmas is so close, but we still have a few days of hard labour to go through. And to do so, we need some pounding records. Some classics, they always seem to do the trick. And instead of going absolutely insane and go 200 BPMs and more, let's just slow it down, and instead play some Trance classics from a era long gone but never forgotten. And if you've ever been to Godskitchen, you will know the tunes you are about to find in this mix. I've never been, but read the stories online. And of course I had a few compilations released under the Godskitchen umbrella. If you've been to a Godkitchen event, leave a comment below, would love to know how it was. I only link Godskitchen to Trance music, as those were the only CDs I ever purchased, but was Trance the only kind of music being played at Godskitchen? I don't know, I genuinely don't know. Well, if you remember Godskitchen, you will have to thank ReKre8 for making this mix. Uploaded nearly a week ago, and it's already got some good feedback. And it's packed to the max with anthems from the best years of Trance music. And when I say packed, I do mean it. So many great anthems. If you were looking for a mix filled with the best Trance anthems ever made, you don't need to look any further! Check out this tracklist, and tell me how you feel after seeing all these classics? Euphoric, yes? York - Reachers Of Civilisation (Rank 1 Remix) Basic Avalon - Firewalk Tillman Uhrmacher - On The Run (Club Mix) Safri Duo - Rise (Leave Me Alone) (ATN Remix) Mr. Philips - 7th Day (Michael Woods Remix) M1 - Heaven Sent (Michael Woods Club Mix) Racoon - From The Deep 2000 (Racoon's Trance Club Mix) Gouryella - Walhalla (Extended) System F - Cry (Original Extended) DJ Encore feat Engelina - I See Right Through To You (Fridge Remix) Kontakt - Show Me A Sign (Original Club Mix) Heatbeat - Vergatron (Original Mix Edit) Matt Darey - Liberation (Fly Like An Angel) (Ferry Corsten Remix) Solange - Messages (Ferry Corsten & Tiesto presents Gouryella Remix) Madelyne - Beautiful Child (Hiver & Hammer Remix) Saltwater - The Legacy (Alphazone Remix) Hi-Gate - Caned & Unable (Original Mix) Mark 'Ruff' Ryder - Joy (Electrique Boutique Remix) Members Of Mayday - 10 In 01 (Paul van Dyk Remix) Slipmatt - Space Slyder - Score (Original Mix) CJ Stone - Into The Sea (Green Court Remix) Ernesto - Dark Side Of The Moon (Original Mix) DJ Quicksilver - Timerider (Lange Remix) Signum - What Ya Got 4 Me Yep, this mix contains the classics, that's for sure. And the length of this mix makes it worth while: the duration of this mix is nearly 2 and a half hours, but within those 150 minutes you get 25 excellent Trance anthems from back in the day. And credit where credit is due: ReKre8's selection is really excellent. A grandiose mix, that's for sure. I really enjoyed it, hearing all these Trance and Hard Trance classics, all in a splendid mix. Of course the biggest hits had to be in here, and I can only imagine how it would have sounded like, hearing these songs being played out loud at Godskitchen. I can only imagine. I really appreciate Trance music, as I grew up listening to it a lot. And ReKre8's mix is packed with excellent anthems. You've probably heard them a million times already in your life, as they have appeared on many compilations, not just the Godskitchen compilations. And I've owned many. I've spent a fortune when I was younger on compilations. But thankfully, now we've got Soundcloud and the likes of. The selection is great, and it even contains a few songs I've forgotten. Like 'Joy'. What a wicked anthem, so damn good. A solid mix, and if you want, you can even download this one for free! So jump on it right now, what are you waiting for? • [Mix Set] Sy & Unknown: The Remixes 2022.06.25 [2022]

From cheesy Dutch Christmas Gabber/Hardcore music to UK Hardcore. What a wonderful day today is, and another bonus for most of us: the weekend is about to happen! And Christmas is getting closer and closer. So let's not dwell on the shitty stuff that happened throughout the year, and let's rave until the break of dawn! And if you are into UK Hardcore, you will certainly appreciate the next mix I'm about to share with you all. Posted on the Hardcore Classics YouTube channel a few months ago, and it's a mix focussed on the classics by Sy & Unknown! All politics aside, this duo dominated the UK Hardcore scene for many years! And they've given us so many memorable anthems, and a few of those have landed in this mix. Well, to be completely honest, the tracks in this mix are all remixes, remixes done by Sy & Unknown. They were the remix masters. No just scratchmasters. They took already excellent records, and gave it a spin, and turned it into a timeless classic. It's a shame that they aren't a duo anymore. But at least we've got the music. And the music was epic. I think, and I might not be a hundred percent right, but I feel that my first ever UK Hardcore song ever was a song by Sy & Unknown. So they were my introduction to this new sound that I've never heard before, and from that moment onward, I've become a fan of UK Hardcore. So, thanks to Sy & Unknown for making me a slightly happier man! But, now the big question is... what's in this mix? You are desperate to know, right? Plus System - Come On (Sy & Unknown Remix) Scott Brown - Neck Breaker (Sy & Unknown Remix) GEOS - Easy Inside (Sy & Unknown Remix) Paradise - Wanna Be Free (Sy & Unknown Remix) Darren Styles - I Need You (Sy & Unknown Remix) Rocco - I Don't Know (Sy & Unknown Remix) GSDX - History (Sy & Unknown Remix) Paradise - Angel (Sy & Unknown Remix) Impact & Resist feat Lisa Abbott - All I Want (Sy & Unknown Remix) DeejayBee, D-Ice & Reality feat Lexzii - Touched (Sy & Unknown Remix) Adam Harris feat Lisa Abbott - Everytime (Sy & Unknown Remix) Filthy Louca - Teardrops (Sy & Unknown Remix) Breeze V Lost Witness - Rise Again (Sy & Unknown Remix) Breeze - Let's Fly (Sy & Unknown Remix) Oh, these classics make me go moist in the pants. There were a few in this mix I've not heard i roughly 10 years, but it's like seeing an old mate again: no matter how long its been, you just feel at ease again, and it feels like nothing ever happened. You forget the time spent away from each other. And that's how I feel. Embraced by the remixes made by Sy & Unknown. I've been listening to this set over and over, and Hardcore Classics have made a very interesting mix, one that keeps me entertained from the start to the finish. He seems to be having fun too. You can see the DJ behind the decks being happy, as he's as happy as I am, hearing these UK Hardcore gems! I really enjoyed this set, and even though some tracks weren't amazing, the majority were. Especially 'Wanna Be Free', 'Angel', and 'All I Want'. Gosh, these are still such a great dancefloor filling tracks. You can't stand at the bar when these tunes come on, and if the horns and whistle crew are there, they are ready to attack the dancefloor. Sy & Unknown, such a great duo. Enjoy it, and let the weekend happen. If you are going out, rave safely! • Thunderdome Merry Christmas Oldschool Hardcore/Gabber X-Mas Megamix by Santa S full Album (2018)

It is nearly Christmas. In 10 days time, it will be boxing day, and we will all be stuffed from all the food we had the day before, but we still need to finish all the left overs. The radio will be on, Christmas tunes will be played over and over, and we all think about the rest of the world, and how people suffer, with all kinds of misery. Christmas is a nice festive holiday, but also a stark reminder of what the world is at the same time. Do they know it is Christmas? Those legendary words took over the world, and made us think of all the humans on this Earth. But, as it is 2022, should we maybe bring Christmas Hardcore music to the masses, and let the whole world rave for peace and freedom? Would you support that? Wouldn't that be a great thing to do? Most of us like to have a party anyway, and we all get a bit tired of Band Aid. We need to rave our fears, problems, and other feelings away. Raving for a good cause is always a good thing, but I'm not sure that this mix, by Santa S, is the right kind of music. Maybe we need to revive the X-mas Hardcore genre, and make newer tracks, suitable for 2022/2023. But, when it originally emerged out of the depths of the Hardcore scene, it never took off. And probably for good reasons. You think Happy Hardcore is cheesy? Wait until you hear this mix and the tracks used. Christmas music in itself is kind of cheesy, but put a Hardcore beat under it, and it becomes the most cheesiest music of all harder styles. Cringe, but funny at the same time. And only suitable around the festive period. Which, coincidentally, is currently is! Santa S - Intro: Aggravating Santa Cold Turkey - Rotterdam Is Alive (De Kerstman Is...) Carlos Mirilla - Escarola The Beatsquad - X-mas Breaks Gate 6 - The Snowman Cold Turkey - Final Christmas Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo - This Christmas (E. OVerdijk Remix) DJ Promo & Da Vinci - Last Christmas DJ E-Rick & Tactic - Silent Nights Are Over 3 Steps Ahead - It's X-Mas Stuffed Turkey - Season To Be Jolly Rospell - Wonderfull X-Mas The Jingle Brothers - Scary Christmas Bang Crosby - I'm Dreaming Gizmo - Ghost Of X-Mass Futrue The Silverbelly's - Santa Comes Tonight Daster & Dancer - A Happy X-Mas Day 3 Steps Ahead - X-Mas Bonfire Psylocke - Santa Claus Is Coming Silent Jesus - Oh Christmas Day DJ Sim - Christmas Collage Sensor - Rudolf The Rednose Ravedeer Waxweazle - War Is Over Gabba Claus & Rudolf Ravedeer - Merry Mutha F**kin X-Mas Moshe Dayhan - Riot In Badhlehem Santa S - Driving Home The Prophet - Sick Christmas Underground Dwarfs - True Mean Christmass (Freestyle Inc. with Santa S) Buzz Fuzz - And A Wappie New Year D-Boy Bad Boys - Jingle Bells (Hardcore Bells Mix) You can't make it any cheesier. Just look at the artist names, or even the track title! How cheesy can it be? I love myself a bit of cheese, and I should be jolly throughout this festive time of the year, but even for me this is too cheesy. But funny at the same time. So many of these songs have been buried under inches of snow, to only emerge when Santa is about to hand out presents. And that's good: you don't want to hear these atrocities being played throughout the year! My God, some of these tracks are in a different whelm. But again, it's all just jokes, isn't it? It is all a bit of fun and games. Just have a bit of fun: we already listen to extremely hard Hardcore throughout the rest of the year, why not end the year with something light-hearted? The mix itself is OK. The tracks are OK too. But the sound quality differs throughout the set. At certain stages it becomes so bad, I thought my speakers were going to blow up. It could be the tracks themselves being bad, or just the recording quality dipping in and out. A funny mix. One you only need to hear once, and then bury it back underneath the snow. Best track? Gizmo's track. Wasn't it on the CD Rave The X-Mass? • 'The Summer Of UPTEMPO 4' (Mixed By Severe) (2022)

The Summer of UPTEMPO. Well, Severe, it isn't Summer anymore, unfortunately. It is Winter as we speak. I'm looking out my window, and the garden and surrounding houses are still covered in a 2 inch layer of snow. But I know why you called your mixtape this way. Because 2023 was a great year for Uptempo, and especially the summer period was a great one. Not that I'm 100% sure about that, as I'm still a newby, still green behind the ears. Not a 100% Uptempo fanatic yet. I'm getting there, but still miles off. The only link with Uptempo that I've got, is the artist who's mix you are about to listen to: Severe. Severe, a name I've been following for some time now, made a mix. A new addition to his 'The Summer Of UPTEMPO' (the fourth instalment to be precise). And even though it's cold and miserable outside, you can still pretend it's nice and sunny outside, sipping a Pina Colada. Or whatever beverage you prefer. I think I discovered him back in 2020/2021, and his mix grabbed my attention, and from that moment on, I'm hooked. This mysterious masked DJ is someone who likes the beats and bass and melodies to be vigorous. Hard as nails. No fucking about with the tunes he selects. And for a strange reason, I seem to be drawn to it a lot. And when his latest mix appeared on my timeline, I jumped on it, not knowing I had to wear protection! My Gawd, this mix is filth. A few months ago I got a new car, and this car has got a proper sound system already built in. And when I pressed play on this specific mix, it nearly blew my speakers into a billion pieces! Sweet Joseph and Mary, this mix is hard! And now, just picture a hyped up kid just bouncing up and down in his car seat... that was me when I heard this mix for the first time. And still to this day I am in awe, and in total shock. Love it! But what tracks did Severe use? He kindly directed me to his Instagram page, which has got the FULL tracklist. Happy is an understatement: Wheelhatz - Another Smoke Stineaux & Insidious Side - Uptechno Waterpsirit - Feeling (Rollz Royce Edit) Dr. Peacock & ascendant vierge - Influenceur (Tom Sku Edit) Remzcore - Dynamite (Xcriminals & Tom Sku Edit) Revealer - Miss You (Bootleg) (Flout Mania Edit) Chaotic Brotherz - TBA Da Rool - Meet Her At The Love Parade (Rollz Royce Edit) Lil Nas X - Star Walkin (Lunakorpz Edit) Jimmy Gomez - Jungle Lil Nas X feat Biley Ray - Old Town Road (The Dark Horror Edit) Sickmode - Find You (S'Kor Remix) Inswennity & S'Kor - Lonely Lil Texas - Pressure Cooker (Rollz Royce Edit) Schizophrenix - Step Back (Chaotic Brotherz Edit) Adjust - Red Lips (Edit) (Chrizens Kick Edit) Dimitri K - Early Uptempo Mash Lady Damage - Break It Down (Tom Sku Edit) Deadly Guns - From The Underground (Tom Sku Edit) Major Lazer feat Partysquad - Original Don (Tom Sku Edit) Be warned: if this is the first time you are going to listen to this mix, make sure you've got the volume NOT all the way up. You are not ready for the filth. And you don't want your monitors to blow up your house. Just be warned. Severe brings the heat, and the heat will radiate throughout your monitors/speakers. Something will blow up, and it's not something you want, just before Christmas. Unless you are desperate to replace your monitors. If that's the case, volume on MAX and enjoy them being blown into a billion pieces. The mix is very tight, but I would not have expected anything else from Severe. A few tiny, but very tiny (more minute like) errors, but they aren't wasting your time on. The music will keep you going, and the Uptempo beats will certainly penetrate your ear drums, loudly and proudly. When you think you've reached the highest level imaginable and think it cannot be any rougher and tougher, and Severe gives you this? I am not 100% into Uptempo, but mixes like this one will certainly get me going. Into the direction of Uptempo. Would I prefer this over the 'standard' Hardcore. Not yet. But it all depends on my own research: if I keep on finding dope mixes like the one you are listening to, I know for sure that Uptempo will be my future. 'Dynamite' is such a boss anthem. And 'Uptechno' too. Damn, my speakers are barely holding on for dear life! • Negative A History of Hardcore 1997 - 2000 (2021)

1997. Can you believe that's 25 fucking years ago? 25 whole years? That just blew my mind! I started listening to Negative A's mix, and just wondered how many years ago 1997 actually was. This mix already blew my mind away, but now me realising that my first rave happened 24 years ago, it all just falls into place: I'm an old fucker. Old, but still enjoying the early Hardcore sound, especially the music released between 1996 and 2004. And you will never believe it: Negative A's mix is focussed on the records released between 1997 and 2000! I am in Heaven right now! Negative A might be able to explain it a bit better what this mix actually is? Was it a live stream, or was it a live event? Remember, this was recorded during the days when we had to self isolate, because of this stupid and dangerous virus called COVID-19. So it might have been a live stream, or not. But does it matter? It's all about the music, so let's dive straight into the tracklist... But not just yet. A short introduction to the man behind this mix. Negative A, a.k.a. Megatron, Dr. Z-Vago, Michaelangelo, DJ XD, The D.O.C., Triest Geval, and more names you've probably never realised. He's been in the game for many years, and he knows exactly what the listeners want to hear. And he's gained some DJ skills over the years (which you would expect), so this mix is certainly one you want to check out. If you don't, you've got a screw loose. Dr. Z-Vago (a.k.a. Negative A) - Theme From Vodka B.S.E. - Good Old Days Promo - What The Fuck The Blaster - War Is Coming Man Max-E-Crew & Miro - Cutmaster (Miro Mix) E-Man - Bass Machine G-Town Madness & Attic & Stylzz - Bring The Pain Pilldriver - Apocalypse Never The D.O.C. (a.k.a. Negative A) - Allright... Yeah! DJ Buzz Fuzz - King Of The Beatz Cixx vs The Vinyl Junk - The Tough Guys Neophyte & The Stunned Guys - Rev. 909 D'Spyre - Secure Future For The Human Kind Tschabos - Gib Mir Die Bass T-Wisted feat Pino D'Ambini - Respect The Cock Rotterdam Terror Corps - The Horror (Buzz Fuzz Remix) Shadowlands Terrorists - Bang Your Head Turbolenza - I Am The Creator Billy The Kid - Clappin Your Hands Nosferatu - Pop Goes The Pistol Knightvision - The Search For Marihuana DJ Norman - Cypress Dope Promo - Beat Ya Brain Lenny Dee & The Hardcore Warriors - Funky Twisted Dano - Fuckem Mental Hardcore Associates - Let's Get Wappie After hearing this set, I am full of energy, and sadness at the same time. Why, you might ask? Well, no one is going to bring back the years 1997, 1998, 1999, and 2000. Those days are gone, which is such a shitty thing to think of. The music was so great, and so passionate. And even though we don't have a physical time machine: in a way this is a time machine. A throwback to the glorious years of Hardcore, and Negative A is our captain, guiding us through the finest anthems. And what a journey does he take us on! My God, I'm sitting here, in full awe of what I've just witnessed. So many great tracks, but it's not that hard: 1997 to 2000 were maybe the best years for Hardcore, period. I can talk for hours, but I won't. I'll let the mix do the talking. Negative A has picked 26 records, and carefully mixed them together. And they are mostly underrated records you don't hear that often. They deserve so much more credit, and by putting them in his set, he shows us all why he's a great DJ, producer, and lover of the Hardcore sound. Best record? Come on, that's not even worth a debate. 'The Tough Guys'. What a filthy bass! I've got nothing negative to mention. Even though his name is Negative A, I wouldn't consider this mix to be negative, more Positive A. • 90's Classic Trance set - Volume 1 (2021)

It is Saturday, and I hope you are having a great day. If you are indoors, make sure the heating is on, and if you are outside, make sure you are dressed properly. You don't want to catch a cold, just before Christmas. Or basically any day of the year. But, if you are looking for something else to warm you up, I might have something for you. If you look at the image above, it already looks like a sunny smiley, and the mix you are about to listen to, will certainly heat things up. But what kind of music is in this mix, and who made this mix? Well, I know the answers to both questions: the first one is Trance music, and the second answer is Edele Andaya. As you are aware, I know a thing or two about Trance music, but unfortunately, I am not aware of the DJ in question. Never seen her name before, but it's never too late to learn new things, am I right? So, the big question is: what kind of Trance music is in this mix? Well, if you haven't figured it out by now (just look at the title of this review, which is coincidentally also the name of the mix!), it's Classic 90s Trance music. I hope that's also your favourite decade of Trance music. It is and isn't. Like, it's cool, and it was something new and refreshing, but I linger towards the Millennium sound, and everything basically between 1999 and 2009. Those, to me, are the best years. But we certainly don't forget the sound that was created in the 90s, that stood at the basis of what Trance was about to become. Solar Stone - 7 Cities (Armin van Buuren Remix) Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar Pulsar - Cloudwalking (Astral Remix) The Space Brothers - Heaven Will Come (Olmec Heads Remix) Mothers Pride - Learning To Fly (Moonman Remix) Digger - Church Of Ra Space Brothers - Turn It Around SuReal - You Take My Breath Away (Tiesto Remix) Push - Universal Nation (Ferry Corsten Remix) The Generator - Where Are You Now (Moonman Remix) Travel - Bulgarian (Signum Remix) These are certainly the classics, but only a short selection. If she were to do all the Trance classics, the mix would be 100 hours long (at least). But if you were looking for more sets like this one, and if I'm correct, there are now four mixes in this series now, which you can find on her Soundcloud channel. Don't you worry, son. Edele has got your back! I thoroughly enjoyed this mix. A step back in time, and one I definitely needed. I've been fully emerged into the harder sounds imaginable, but sometimes you just need to unwind, and relax. And after hearing this mix, I feel so mellow, so relaxed. I could just dose of into dreamland, and stay there for a few hours. Not saying this mix is boring. Oh, the complete opposite. It starts with a solid anthem, and the music just keeps on coming. Some versions of already exciting classics, like 'You Take My Breath Away', 'Universal Nation', etc. But the one that got me dancing the most, has to be one of the best Trance anthems of all time, and I'm not exaggerating: 'Cafe Del Mar' by Energy 52. Come on, you want to relive the 90s, that's the track which will take you back IMMEDIATELY. A solid mix by an artist who's mix got me intoxicated. I really enjoyed it, and so should you. Warmed up already? No? Play it again! • A tribute to Mauro Picotto (2022)

A legendary name. Mauro Picotto. Recognise his name? Sure you do. Unless you are too young to remember, or you've not danced throughout the late 90s and early 2000nd, and not heard the biggest tunes being made by this Italian superstar DJ and producer. He's been in the game since 1989, played all over the world, dominated the charts on each continent, and was also known as Megamind, CRW, R.A.F, and the list goes on. His claim to fame came toward the end of the 90s, when 'Lizard' was released, and got him a chart position of 27th in the UK. 'Iguana' followed, 'Pulsar', 'Verdi, 'Like This Like That', 'Back To Cali', 'Proximus', and of course his biggest song ever 'Komodo'. And all that in just a few years... I have been a fan of Mauro since the last 90s. Yes, I was one of those youngsters who purchased Mauro's songs on CD single. I bought them all. My first ever vinyl record was 'Verdi'. Mauro has always been one of my most favourite DJs, and his music touched my soul, and have been my favourite records of all time too. His music is timeless. Just consider this: the songs in the mix you are about to listen to, are roughly 20 years old, and they still sound fresh, and not outdated at all. That's the power of Mauro Picotto. Silvio Aquila, who recently made a Shockers appreciation mix, made this Mauro Picotto appreciation mix a few months ago, and I only discovered it the other day. Obviously I had to give it a go, and it came with a tracklist. Did it bring back some memories of raving throughout the night, hearing Mauro coming at me through the speakers? Yes, hell yes. It isn't the first appreciation/dedication mix I have found and listened to, but it's worth sharing as much as possible, and Mauro deserves more credit for what he's done. Maybe even a statue? You tell me! Intro Mauro Picotto - Back To Cali Mauro Picotto - New Time New Place Mauro Picotto - Iguana (A Different Starting Mix) Mauro Picotto - Pulsar (Picotto Tea Mix) Megamind - Taub (Picotto Mix) Mauro Picotto - Bangkok Mauro Picotto - Lizard Mauro Picotto - Komodo (Tea Mix) Mauro Picotto - Planet Mauro Picotto - Underground Mauro Picotto - Verdi Mauro Picotto - Proximus (Megavoices Claxxix Mix) Mauro Picotto - Big Megamind - Sturn Und Drang (Picotto Mix) Mauro Picotto - Like This Like That (Alternative Start Mix) Mauro Picotto - Awesome!!! Mauro Picotto - Ultimahore Ibiza Musique vs U2 - New Years Dub (Mauro Picotto Club Mix) Mauro Picotto feat Riccardo Ferri - Taotek Mauro Picotto - Baguette Mauro Picotto feat Riccardo Ferri - Alchemist Mauro Picotto - Hong Kong Mauro Picotto feat Riccardo Ferri - Codebreaker Mauro Picotto - Juicicivan Come on!!! Acknowledge the man, the myth, the legend! So many, and I mean so many great records are in this mix, and there are still plenty out there, remixes of these all time classics, that aren't in this mix. But Silvio kept it nice and compact, otherwise the mix would have been 10+ hours long! Not bad for me, but for some it's too much Mauro. And to those people I say: go away! To me this mix is perfect. Could have been longer, but it's nice and neat. And it's got the big songs in here. But after checking the tracklist it raised a few questions, questions only Mauro can answer: what's his fascination with cities, food/drinks, and animals? Bangkok, Hong Kong, Cali, Tea, Baguette, Komodo, Lizard, Iguana, etc? Would be interesting to find out... I'd never noticed it before, if I'm being honest. There are too many memories linked to most of Mauro's songs. But the main question obviously is: do you like his 'commercial' records or his 'underground' records? Tricky for me, because hits like 'Komodo' and 'Proximus' still are catchy as hell, but songs like 'Verdi' and 'Baguette' are so good to hear on the dancefloor. Those pounding beats and bass are just too good. F**k it, the darker side, that's my final answer. Silvio's mix is great. A few tiny errors in here, but nothing too major. A nice appreciation mix for one of Italy's finest DJs and producers. If you are a fan like myself, you'll love this mix. And it's also downloadable, so it's an early Christmas present for you all! Note: I still choose 'Proximus' as my favourite. Banging tune. Not his darkest tune ever, but still highly enjoyable. • Hardcore Heaven Germany Promo Mini Mix (2022)

When I still lived in the Netherlands, I was screaming for proper events on the continent. Events where they played UK Hardcore. Every so often it happened, but on a smaller scale. I always hoped events such as Hardcore Heaven would come across the big pond, and it never happened. But now, after I've moved to the UK, the first HH is going to be held in Germany!? Can you Adam and Eve it (believe it)? I simply cannot, and what's also very cool (but frustrating) is the line-up. They will certainly be a crowd pleaser. The names are tremendous... wish I'd still live in the Netherlands, I would have gone over in a jiffy! And it's cool to see artists such as Scott Brown, Fracus & Darwin, Dune, Alaguan, Rush Dee, Gregor Le Dahl, and more. Obviously I'm not going to this event, but I wish I would. To be fair, my knowledge of German cities is limited, never heard of Bad Oldesloe? Have we got any German fans here, and can tell me where that is? But obviously, this event doesn't need an introduction. But a promo mix would be a nice gesture. Hence why one of the artists attending (and playing) at the event, made this mix. Rush Dee, who will be playing in the main room, has made a mix filed with tracks by artists who also play at HH. How cool is that? It's only a short mix, but it should get you hyped up for this, in case you are going. If you are still deciding, just let this mix be your guide... guiding you to the event. You don't want to miss out on Hardcore freaking Heaven in Germany! Gareth Emery feat Sarah de Warren - Calling Home (Rush Dee Remix) Darwin - What A Day Fracus & Darwin vs Dune - Synthesize Alaguan - Against Me Scott Brown - All ABout Elysium Outforce & Gregor Le Dahl feat Nathalie - Someone Nikky Cream - Sound Of My Dream (Scott Brown Remix) Scott Brown - Into The Blue Fracus & Darwin - Remedy Alaguan feat Lindsey Marie - Somebody Loves You Rush Dee - L.E.A. A short but very satisfying mix. 33 minutes and 33 seconds long. And it contains records I've not heard before. Well, that's not technically true: who doesn't know 'Elysium' by Scott Brown? If you don't know that song, are you even a raver? But this specific version I've not heard before, so it's strictly not 100% new... ah fuck it, who cares? This is a nice mix with a lot of new and exciting tunes. Rush Dee's selection is great, and even the last track is interesting to listen to. Can't remember if I've ever even encounter a UK Hardcore track with German vocals on it? Must be the first time, if I'm honest. Breaks the ice a bit: always in English, why not in German? The tunes certainly got me hyped up and excited. Wish I could go and hear all the artists play the finest UK Hardcore tunes out there. And also Dune, hearing the late 90s Happy Hardcore anthems. Come on, how cool would that be, eh? Enjoy it, everyone who's going. I'm jealous of you all! Best records in this mix? Tracks made by Fracus and Darwin, OF COURSE! • Innercity 2005

Innercity. Oh, Innercity. What have they done to you? What was once a very successful event, was cancelled, and never revived. It died a horrible death, and was it a deserved death? Was it worth it? You tell me. But to me the event holds many memories, as the 2000 was such a memorable event for me personally. I went there, and had the time of my life. I remember it being cold, as it was in the middle of Winter, and I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt (can't go raving in a hoodie and thick jeans)... that turned out to be a mistake. But all in all, I thoroughly enjoyed myself. And the CDs that followed were awesome, like the one I just decided to listen to again. I am a sucker for music, especially music I grew up with. And this 2005 CD is a gorgeous one. But is it the best one out of the series? If you followed the series, you know it went through some changes. The first were focussed on Trance music, with the first two CDs live registrations of Ferry Corsten, and DJ Tiesto. It slowly grew into this dance focussed series, which some loved, and some hated. Obviously I LOVE the CD released after the 2000 event, but not all were as successful after this one. I think my least favourite was the 2004 CD and the 2003 one too. 2001 was also a great one, but a quirky 'hybrid' disc. One side was a DVD and the other the normal CD. Which never took off, and for good reason. What a load of bollocks. But hey ho, they tried, and failed. But this 2005 edition, what's that all about? Why is this special? Well, to me personally, it contains records you don't hear that often. It's like the dance music from around 2004 to 2006 is forgotten about, and this CD contains a lot of excellent tunes you don't hear on the radio, and it makes me wonder as to why? The music was (and still is) great. Yes, it wasn't the underground sound we got accustomed to back in the early 2000nd, but it would still sound great though. Now you are curious, what's on these two CDs? Well, have I got the answers for you! CD 1 Tiga - You Gonna Want Me Defender - Defender Ernesto vs Bastian -Dark Side Of The Moon (Axwell & Sebastian Ingrosso Remix) Booka Shade - Mandarin Girl Freeform Five - No More Conversations (Mylo Remix) (Ceasar's Scissors Edit) M.A.N.D.Y. vs Booka Shade - Body Language Moby - Raining Again (Steve Angello Remix) Royksopp - 49 Percent (Angello & Ingrosso Remix Edit) Jaimy - Cut Me Loose (Jaimy's Fatal Dub) Marco V - Second Bite (Wally Lopez Remix) Speedcats - Speedcats (Roel H Remix) LCD Soundsystem - Tribulations (Tiga's Out Of The Trance Closet Mix) Orlando Voorn - Boomerang Mox Codeta - Fresh Mauro Picotto - Absofreakinglutely Grafiti - What Is The Problem? CD 2 Deep Dish - Say Hello (Angello & Ingrosso Remix) The Drill - The Drill Digitalism - Zdarlight Benjamin Theves - Texas James Mowbray & D. Ramirez - The Day Hip Hop Died Depeche Mode - Precious (Sasha's Spooky Mix) Hard-Fi - Hard To Beat (Axwell Remix) Tomas Andersson - Washing Up (Tiga Remix) Hiroki Esachika - Kazane The Young Punx - Young And Beautiful (The Laurent Konrad Remix) Anthony Rother - Father Junior Sanchez - The Last Dance Think Tank - Bomb Benjamin Bates - 16! Dogzilla - Without You Ronald van Gelderen - F!lth (Broken Beats Cut Up) Remember these songs? Do you actually remember them? Some I've completely forgotten about, because they weren't great songs to begin with, but there are a shit ton of excellent tunes in here, which I haven't forgotten about, but I could only wish I heard them more often. This was the era when Tiga, Axwell, Ingrosso, and Angello ruled the dancefloor. I'm not sure if they already formed the Swedish House Mafia, but they were on fire. Look at the songs on these discs, just have a look, and you immediately recognise them. And you have to admit: they were solid dancefloor smashers. More focussed on the EDM side of life, but still. They didn't go amiss at Innercity. After all, it was going through some changes, which led to the ultimate ending of this glorious ID&T organised event. It isn't the best out of the few albums, but it's certainly not the worst. It's still highly enjoyable. And I do enjoy hearing these underrated classics. Now the difficult task of choosing a favourite: CD 1 = Royksopp - 49 Percent. Original OK, remix = the BOMB CD 2 = Benjamin Theves - Texas . Makes me want to go to Texas. A solid CD, with a few OK-ish records. But one thing has to be admired: the Swedish taking over. You can see the change happening. Was this music suitable for the Innercity people? Probably not. Some records were, and some weren't. It was changing, and unfortunately, ID&T pulled the plug. Should it be revised? Nope. Should ID&T make their back catalogue available somewhere to download/stream/purchase? Yes. You just can't find this album anywhere. If you were lucky and you bought the album, hurray. If not... tough. • RITCHIE GAMBINO - LIVING WITHOUT RULES (2022)

Ritchie Gambino. Sounds like a distant cousin of Bertocucci and Nina Feranzano. If you don't get that joke, you are a bit too young, and aren't someone who experienced the 90s much, or not at all. But before I turn into Tommy Cooper and start telling bad jokes, let's focus on today's find on Soundcloud and YouTube. Ritchie Gambino, who might that be? You might have heard of him. He's a famous and sometimes infamous DJ, producer, MC, and all round a very friendly chap. And I think he was the first Terror DJ I've ever seen perform at Mysteryland. He's known as the grandad of the Terror scene, who's book I've read a few months ago, and it opened up a new view for me on the history of Hardcore... I'm obviously talking about the one and only Drokz. A.k.a. Ritchie Gambino. I've got the utmost respect for Drokz. As the voice of the scene, he represents a lot that I stand for too. Not everything, but most views I share. Do I consider him as the grandad of the scene? Nope, I think of Drokz as a leading figure in the scene. More like the Barack Obama of the Terror/Hardcore scene. But don't just assume he's your standard, run of the mill, artist. Drokz is so much more, and he's been using his alias Drokz for many years, but now he blew off the dust of Ritchie Gambino, and he shows us (yet again) that he's not just a great Terror producer, but that he can also make excellent cross over records, touching the Techno and Hardcore sound beautifully. So what's this new album all about? Well, it's all about everything and nothing. A showcase album, highlighting what Ritchie does and what he can do, if he sits down in a studio and sets his mind on making new, exciting, and unique records. And the feedback on YouTube and Soundcloud has already been amazing! People seem to love this album, and I can't wait for it to be released. I do have to laugh at a mention of booking Ritchie (on the video). Bring your wallet, because Ritchie ain't cheap. He's one triple A artist, and one that should be paid for fair and square. But you do get one mighty fine artist playing at your event. Or bar mitzva, whatever you want to book him for. Ritchie Gambino - The Piano Bounce (Intro Version) Ritchie Gambino - Keep It Real Ritchie Gambino - Full Clip With The Poison Dip Ritchie Gambino - I Am Your Boss Ritchie Gambino - I'm Sick Of All These Lies Ritchie Gambino - The League With Satan Ritchie Gambino - Expand Your Mind Ritchie Gambino - The Fine Ladies Living Nasty Ritchie Gambino - Life Is Too Short Ritchie Gambino - The Dead Soundboy Ritchie Gambino - The Truth Shall Set You Free Ritchie Gambino - Some Other Shit Ritchie Gambino - Time To Celebrate Ritchie Gambino - Act Like You Know Ritchie Gambino - Troublemakers Ritchie Gambino - I Choose This Life Ritchie Gambino - OG Recognise OG Ritchie Gambino - Help Me Now that's a tracklist. Only one spelling error (system doesn't recognise the word 'Soundboy'). But all in all a great looking tracklist, and if you didn't know Ritchie is Drokz, you do know now. He names his songs the same way he does as Drokz. And that's gangster! I couldn't find any info on where to purchase the album from. I've checked the website of PRSPCT and Drokz's Facebook page, but couldn't see a link. If anyone knows, leave the link below... It's a glorious mix. I've enjoyed it from the start to the end. And here's the tricky part: is it Hardcore? Is it Techno? What is it? It's raw, that's for sure. But let's class it as Hardcore and call it even. If people don't consider this Hardcore, that's cool. In the end, it's music that moves us all. And that's all that matters. The tracks are great, and I love the revival of Ritchie Gambino. Drokz, a.k.a. Ritchie, has done it again. A glorious album you should really invest time and money into. It's all worth it. He's shown us yet again why he's such a prolific producer, and that his tracks are solid as a fucking rock. Drokz is certainly one name we should cherish in the scene. Don't ever let this man go, or we'd be lost! • DJ Delite - 180 4 Hardcore October'22

October is already done and dusted, and only now have I found the time to listen to DJ Delite's mix. One that has had a few plays so far, and people seem to be very excited to hear it. And if you are like me, you are a UK Hardcore fan, so it's always nice to hear new tunes. As I've not been involved much in the UK Hardcore scene lately, it's my reintroduction of what's currently hot in the scene. And boy, things are getting hot and steamy. But is still the UK Hardcore I remember, or is it slightly different? That's another debate to have, but not to carry out here. For now, let's focus on DJ Delite and his mix. The October mix got some plays already and some positive feedback, and that's always a good thing to hear. But leave that up to Delite to come up with a wicked mix, and with the finest tracks (according to him). This mix contains his favourite records from the last few months, and as mentioned before, I've been 'out' of the game a bit. My focus has shifted to other styles, like Hardcore etc. No, not UK Hardcore, but other types of Hardcore. So I might have missed a few songs here and there. But thankfully we've got Delite keeping us on our toes, and telling us what is hot, and what isn't (if it's not in here, in this mix, it isn't hot enough for Delite). But if you haven't seen this mix yet, how do you know what's hot? Well, let me share you this: Klubfiller - Magic Al Storm - I Created A Monster (Frankenswine Remix) GAYLE - abcdefu (Alaguan Remix) Al Storm & Rob IYF - Flowers Fracus - Give Me Peace Al Storm & Euphony feat Donna Marie - Runaway (Alaguan Remix) Lockdown & Ben Nicky - The Launch Darren Styles, Dee Dee & Olly James - Forever Technikore - We Don't Talk Darren Styles, Hixxy & Jelle van Dael - I Follow Rivers (Deep Sea Baby) Darren Styles & Mark Sixma feat Noubya - Louder Brennan Heart, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike - Because The Night Da Tweekaz, Tony Junior & Sound Rush - Lambada (Your Love) Darren Styles & TNT - Got The Music Gammer & Technikore feat MYLK - Falling Down Al Storm, Rob IYF & Lacie - Fading Like A Flower Midas - Can't Sop (Easyvibe, Stompy & Darren Tyler 2022 Remix) Heidi, Al Storm, Rob IYF & Darren Tyler - Runaway Darren Styles & Code Black - Six Days (On The Run) Technikore, Ben Nicky & Dr. Phunk - Ghost Town W&W, Special D, Harris & Ford - Come With Me It's nice to see so many good collaborations between artists from not just the UK Hardcore scene, but from others too. It's nice to hear that the UK Hardcore producers finally get recognised for their hard work. But is it worth it? Maybe. I still love those songs that remind me of the early UK Hardcore sound. 'Forever' anyone? This is a solid song, and it's got that kick I need. A bit of the old, and a bit of the new. That's the kind I am looking forward to. It's a solid mix, that's for sure, and I would be happy to listen to this in a club or at a rave. It's cheerful and happy, and that's what you need. But are these tracks a reason for me to dive fully back into the sound again? Not sure. I love the bounciness but then there are a few records which I really not understand. Why would you 'make I Follow You' into a dance record, when the original cannot be topped? Or the horrible 'Lambada' song. I need to be extremely intoxicated to lose myself to it. It's a hit or miss for me, personally. But that's not bad. Delite's mix does please others, and for that I have to give it the following score (which you can see below). But a few tracks just don't move me as much as they maybe should? Maybe I'm getting too old.. • The Stunned Guys' Rewinds - Millenium Hardcore 2000-2012 Continuous mix (2018)

Today I woke up to some lovely Freeform music, but now I'm back with something from my youth. Something we call 'Millennium Hardcore'. And for today's mix we have to go to Italy, the country of many pleasant things. You might think of pizza, pasta, tower of Pisa, and many more things, but for me the word that I associate Italy with, is Hardcore. Especially Hardcore released on Traxtorm records, made by artists such as The Stunned Guys. They were on top of the Millennium sound, and knew exactly what the Hardcore scene needed. And 4 years ago they released an album, focussed on the years between 2000 and 2012. The glorious years as I would like to call them. When I get the chance, I would always reminisce. Thinking about the good ol' days. And the Stunned Guys always represented a sound, out of Italy, which I appreciated. They knew exactly how to make a track sound unique, fresh, and yet suitable for the music released at the time. They did have their own sound, their own style. And they make it a worldwide phenomenon: the world was ready for the takeover by The Stunned Guys. They were good as a duo, but also when they worked alongside the biggest names in the scene, and a handful you can find in this continuous album mix. The album in question is called 'Rewinds'. The collection is divided into three sections: Early Hardcore 1994 - 1997, Early Hardcore 1998 - 2000, and Millennium Hardcore 2000 - 2012. Now you know I am a Hardcore fan, but when it comes to making a decision which era I appreciate the most, it is the late 90s and Millennium era. But the Italian sound that was released after the 2000nd was just superb, hence why my review is about the third album. But which tracks are in this continuous mix? You want to know, right? Well, I've got the answer: The Stunned Guys - Rhythm Rock Shocker The Stunned Guys - The Drummer And The Dancer The Stunned Guys & DJ Lancinhouse - Drum N Bass The Stunned Guys & Neophyte - Nation Of Domination The Stunned Guys - You Will Die Nightraver - So (The Stunned Guys Remix) The Stunned Guys - Dancefloor Dictator #TiH Human Resource - Dominator (The Stunned Guys Remix) The Stunned Guys & DJ Paul feat MC Ruffian - Thrillseeka (The Stunned Guys 2004 Reload) The Stunned Guys & Neophyte - There Is No Other The Stunned Guys & DJ Paul feat MC Ruffian - Bombing Eardrumz The Stunned Guys & Tommyknocker - Your Choice The Stunned Guys - You Will Survive The Stunned Guys & Art Of Fighters - Eternal The Stunned Guys - Bim Bum Bam (2002 Remix) Traxtorm Gangstaz Allied - The Hardest The Stunned Guys & Amnesys - Symphony Of Sins Traxtorm Gangstaz Allied - Hardcore Italia Traxtorm Gangstaz Allied - Disposal Of Outer Power (Mainstage On Fire Mix) The Stunned Guys & DJ Mad Dog - Nothing Else Matters The Stunned Guys & Art Of Fighters - United By Hardness Hard Creation - I Will Have That Power (The Stunned Guys Remix) The Stunned Guys & Neophyte feat MC Ruffian - The Soul Collector The Stunned Guys - Raise Cain 3 Steps Ahead - Drop It (Tommyknocker & The Stunned Guys Remix) The Stunned Guys - Slow Me Down The Stunned Guys & Art Of Fighters - Dopenose From my point of view, nothing can exceed my level of happiness right now. Just listening to this mix and seeing the tracklist makes me extremely happy. It is an absolutely stunning mix, truth be told. It's absolutely amazing to hear these tracks, some over 20 years old! And the thing is: they don't even sound that old! They are timeless classics, that's for sure. The tracks are fucking solid. But leave that up to The Stunned Guys. They ruled during the 90s and 2000nd. And this album shows us why they are probably the finest act coming out of Italy. They represented a sound that was strong, solid, and powerful enough to take over the world. You couldn't purchase a CD back in the 90s or early 00s without seeing The Stunned Guys on them. I cannot even comprehend how many anthems they've made over the years. And a lot of them are in this continuous mix. 'Dancefloor Dictator' is so good, 'Your Choice' a dancefloor slammer, 'Hardcore Italia' a masterpiece. 'Raise Cain' just gorgeous... but the one that gets me the most, is 'Dominator'. Boy do I love this track, you don't have a clue! A fantastic mix, an ode to the legends that shaped the 90s and the Millennium years. You can still purchase the album (and the other two), and I would urge you to do so. Check out the Stunned Guys' Soundcloud channel for more clips and mixes etc. Bring back the Millennium sound, right? • Dj Midas - The Portal (2022)

It is Wednesday, Freeform time! And today we are happy to introduce this new mix by Dj Midas. You've come across his name a few times on this website over the years, but unfortunately, it doesn't happen that often. But when it does, it's a big mix. Very big! And today is no exception. You woke up this morning with nothing on your mind, but I'm now planting some Freeform music in your skull. And you are going to be happy that I did it. Who can live a day without listening to one of the most underrated music genres? How is it physically possible that people walk on this Earth and NOT listen to Freeform? You tell me! But before we start this whole debate, it's time to talk about the music. The music in question is Freeform, and it a style of music I really appreciate. It can literally lift me up, if I'm down. It can take me into the stratosphere whenever I am raving. In short, it's heavenly music. Made by angels. Made for angels. And I cannot express what it does to me. It gives me funny feelings in my belly, or it could be that I'm hungry at the time. All jokes aside, I'm in love with the music. It ticks all the boxes for me. It's so energetic, so uplifting, and so powerful. And also, Trancey. And Dj Midas' mix contains the finest Freeform record, so I had to jump on it immediately. Also, my love for Freeform has been ignited by one of FinRG's bosses and his mix a few weeks ago, hence why I need my daily Freeform fix! DJ Neon feat Elizabet - Endless Form Hedonistik Ritual - Dangerous Carbon Based - Tuonela (Solution Remix) Tamerax - The Darkness Risa - Meteorite Stoker - Sick & Tired Transcend & Hedonistik Ritual - Organism Substanced - Wave After Wave A.B vs Finnbarr - Kameleon (Respray) B2BK - Colours Greg Peaks & Alchemiist - In Your Stride Hedonistik Ritual - Subconscious Controller Greg Peaks & Alchemiist - Power Plant Hyphen - Quantum Entanglement Alchemiist - Vermin Substanced - F.E.A.R. (A.B's Hiding Under Your Stairs Remix) OK, OK. Let's address the funny bit here, as you can see in the tracklist. What the fuck is the remix title of the last track? That's just hilarious! Silly, but funny. Come on, that's MEME material! Someone, please make a meme out of this, with A.B actually hiding under your stairs? The mix itself is great. A lot of excellent tunes, but leave that to Midas, to turn it into an excellent mix. It's an hour and ten minutes of pure pleasure, and the tracks are obviously by the greatest artists from the scene. The only wish I've got is to hear more mixes like this one. Santa Claus, if you are watching/listening, can you make it happen? More Freeform please? Too many great songs to choose from, but 'Endless Form' and 'Wave After Wave' are certainly the two biggest records in this mix. A solid mix by Dj Midas. Midas, if you are reading this, and I'm not saying you are Santa Claus, but can you make it happen? More mixes like this one please? Please please pretty please? • Club X Forgotten Tracks (2022)

This isn't the first mix focussed on Club X which I have reviewed, and it will certainly not be the last one. I saw this one go by on my Soundcloud timeline, and I had to grab it. Saved it under favourites, and now I'm checking it out. The promise of this mix is quite interesting: everyone knows the short-lived Club X compilation, and of course the legendary Club X too (I still haven't established if I've been or not...the 90s have been a bit vague... alcohol ruined a lot of evenings for me), and the music that they were focussed on, was obviously the harder styles. Not only was it their main focus, but it was the kind of music that made the club into a household name, and the legendary status outgrew the club... and still, in 2022, people seem to miss the club and the legacy it maintained throughout the heydays of 90s Hardcore music. The DJ who made this mix, decided to pick tracks that reminded him of the club, but not appeared on the compilation CDs (most of them). The mix is an hour long, 30 records in it, so if you are into Hardcore/Gabber music from the 90s, you are in for a treat. A lot of these are a bit obscure, and have slipped through the cracks, unfortunately. They deserve a bigger stage. But not only the underground and forgotten tracks are here, there are a few well known tracks from the 90s in here. Couldn't do a set without a few of those. It's a nice blend of everything Hardcore. And the selection by DJ Epyx is really cool. You'll love it. If you are like me, you are a tad bored, hearing the same mix over and over with the same records in all of them. This is different, and it's cool. And they are really the tracks you would hear in the 90s. In clubs such as Club X. Gosh, I miss the 90s a lot! Tracklist was included, so here we go: Cypher - Sky High Bass X - Hardcore Disco Part II Dance Overdose - Overdose Stomp (Bass X Remix) Public Domain - Old Domain Bald Terror - Hardcore Wasteland - Is It Acceptable? Lord Of Hardcore - Go Berserk Ultimate Buzz - Check Da Bass Dyewitness - Only If I Had One More Trashman - The Last Fight (Fight One) Frenchtraxx - Devil's Voices Demand - Dark & Light Hyperact - My Best Friend Genaside - Fuck You Bass-D & King Matthew - It's Magic DJ Delirium & Buzz Fuzz - Immortality Scott Brown - Detonated Ni-Cad - Brainwash Dyewitness & The Nightraver - Hardcore Deejay Buzz Fuzz - D-Leria Space Seed - Devistation Delirium & Omar Santana - Drop Da Beat Tails & Noizer - Showtime (DJ Waxweazle Power Mix) Thulsa Doom - Do Not Remove The Fix Zero Tolerance - Big Rhythm Fourtrezz - Da Heartattack Active Force - Head Like A Pacman Happy Dreadlocks - X-Tra Hard Evil Maniax - We Are The Creators Of Hardcore (Bodylotion Remix) Yves & DJ Maikel - Runaway What a tracklist. It's gorgeous looking, isn't it? Full of tracks we don't hear that often. And not just tracks that reminds you of Club X, but to me it reminds me of UK raves too. Or Dutch parties. Basically, it's timeless and borderless Hardcore. A good selection by Epyx. A truly epic tracklist, that's for sure! There are a shit ton of excellent tunes in here. So many great memories, and they certainly take me back to a happier and more satisfying era of Hardcore. Mid to late 90s Hardcore still remains awesome to this day, and this mix shows me what I'm missing, and what the dancefloors are missing. More of these obscure Hardcore anthems please! To pick one favourite is like picking a favourite kid. How's that possible? So I've picked two: 'Is It Acceptable', because it reminds me of House Party X, and 'Dark & Light', because it's just such a bad ass yet happy song. A glorious dedication mix to the mighty Club X. This could be a good mix for you to listen to, if you are planning on going out tonight. If you are already on your way to a club, don't worry: this mix might be perfect for next week's adventures! Ps. The song 'It's Magic', that's just a dreadful song. My God, wasn't expecting such a shite record to be in here... shame though... • THE GANG LIVE: Full Liveset at Intents Festival 2022

AR Gang. Also known as Rooler & Sickmode. Ever heard of them? If you haven't, it makes me wonder how it is, living underneath a rock, or in a cave, or on a different planet. Because it is impossible to ignore the rise of these two superstar DJs and producers. A couple of months ago I found a liveset done by the boys, and yesterday on YouTube I noticed the release of their latest song, called 'Too Happy'. I heard t when it was fresh, and I was sitting in my living room with a huge boner, sweaty bollocks, sweaty arse crack, jizz in the pants, but happy and satisfied at the same time. That's what led me to the set you are about to check out. Their set at this year's Intents Festival, held in the Netherlands back at the end of May 2022. They rocked the mainstage, and now you can experience what the thousands of ravers experienced live! I witnessed the first 'The Gang' set at Rebirth (via YouTube), and now this Intents set. And boy, it is intense. I am not a fan of just any regular artist, they have to bring something to the table. And in this case, it is happiness, and banging tunes. And a bit of banter, that's always an added bonus. At Rebirth you could tell they had fun (a few farts here and there, Ye West, and much more). You can tell when the artists are having fun, that's when you can see them smiling through the set, and enjoying themselves. I did exactly the same at home, dancing with the speakers on max volume. They were asked to bring the Gang to the mainstage at Intents Festival 2022, and they literally brough the madness. The crowd lost their fucking minds when they brought their energetic set to life. They could have left the MC at home, he brought nothing to the table. Leave the fun and excitement to Rooler and Sickmode. They know what the crowd wants to hear. This duo seems to be on top of everything, and discovered this 'new' and refreshing approach to Rawstyle/Hardstyle. More melodic, more drama, more happiness, more bass, and more of what the fans need to hear. And them as a duo seem to have cracked the formula, on how to make the perfect records for the harder styles fans. This is certainly a duo who have earned their place on the mainstage, and anywhere else less big is just a disgrace! They are what the crowd needs to hear, but your question is obviously an important one: did they bring the fire to Intents Festival 2022? Which records were on their USB sticks? Sickmode - Go Stupid Sickmode - Hey X3 (Live Edit) Rooler & Villain - Hammertime (The Gang Edit) w/ Rooler - Diskotek (The Gang Edit) Hard Driver & Sickmode - NRG Rooler & Expulze & Narfos - The Vibe Sickmode - AUDIO DAMAGE (HEY X3 Live Edit) Rooler & Sickmode - Gang (The Gang Edit) Sickmode - Klaplongen (The Gang Edit) Rooler - Move 2 Da Beat w/ Rooler & Sickmode - Let The Bass Kick Gigi D'Agostino - L'Amour Toujours w/ Rooler & Sickmode - Too Cold Rooler - Love U Baby (The Gang Edit) Rooler - Yes! (The Gang Edit) Smash Mouth - All Stars w/ Rooler & Sickmode - Find You (Walk Away) Rooler & Sickmode - Too Happy Rooler & Sickmode - Club Banger Sickmode & Levenkhan & Rooler - LESGOOO! Rooler & Sickmode - Too Hot (The Gang Edit) (Intents Edit) The tracklist is gorgeous. A few tracks I've already heard, and a few new ones. The result is a 30 minute long set, with some sick tracks and some insane crowd responses. They loved the set, and for good reasons. Smiles for miles, happiness seen on everybody's faces. And of course the music being excellent. The set looks amazing, and it looks packed to the max. I've never been to Intents, but it's certainly on my list. I couldn't rave during the day time: what's the point in the lights? You need to experience the darkness, and the lights need to penetrate your skull and if it hits your eyes, blind you for a second. But hey ho, that's cool though. If you don't fancy the darkness, that's cool. Everyone seemed to have a lot of fun, and even Sickmode and Rooler are having fun behind the decks. Few fart sounds too, that's important. But also a sneak preview of their latest song, 'Too Happy', and that brings me to the only downside of The Gang and their songs/sets. It's all too short. Take 'Too Happy' for example. The song is excellent, truly astonishingly good. But it's building up to a climax which only lasts for a few seconds. the last 30 seconds of the original song are just the bloody best, and I wished it would have lasted longer. They know how to build toward this climax, but when the climax is reached, it's too damn short. I wish we could have lengthier songs, would go amiss in a set. Don't get me wrong, it's only positive criticism. My criticism is that I want to hear more climactic moments, and they should last longer. I need more The Gang. And length is important! All in all a wicked set, and I wish I could see The Gang live one day. They are currently my favourite duo in the world, and their latest song has got to be the best money can buy. If only it were longer. People have said it before: length is always important, and those that say it doesn't, are lying. We need more happiness in our music, more The Gang, more Sickmode and Rooler. As part of a duo or on their own, that is really irrelevant: as they know how to make excellent music, it doesn't matter what they do. But we need more. Am I showing signs of being an addict? I need a 'The Gang' fix more and more often. A brilliant set, and 'Too Happy' made this set better. And the 'Too Hot' record, especially when the madness is taken to the next level (see around 31:18 minutes in the video, the girl looses her mind, and rightly so!) EA Sports, it's in the game! I've been quiet the last few days, as I was abroad, and have been busy working my ass off. But now I'm back, and going to share a mix with you all, made by someone called MrPanda. Recognise the name? It's been a while since his name appeared on this website, and it was too damn long. And I can't even remember what the mix was about, the last one I reviewed. But don't you worry, let's focus on the mix I found the other day, and it's a good one. MrPanda even went to the effort of composing a tracklist, for which I'm eternally grateful for him doing so. Now we can share and enjoy the mix even more! I do remember vaguely that MrPanda loved to make mixes containing songs that were diverse but blended in together nicely. The same applies to this mix. Breakbeat? Yes, it's in here. Freeform? Check! UK Hardcore? Also in here. DnB? Of course it's in here. J-Core? Can't do a mix without J-Core. A nice mixture of everything, all blending in nicely. Some new tracks, and some old tracks. Mixed together using 4 decks. Again, I love myself a decent mix with tracks that I've not heard before and some I've forgotten about. And MrPanda's mix contains those records. It's as diverse as it could be, and I love it. Also, he has crammed in as many songs as possible, without ruining the overall flow of the mix. So, now it's time for you to get excited and look at the provided tracklist. Ready for the madness? Wilkinson - Machina Mark Breeze - Be Alone (Michael Zenden Remix) Friction - Supersonic Subsonic - Last Time Gammer - Love you Everyday (Intraspekt Remix) Makoto - Atlantic Blue Friction vs Jonny L - Back To Your Roots Tantrum Desire feat Solah - Oblivion Jakka-B feat Kayleigh - Bad Habits (CLSM Remix) Fracus - Endurance Entity - One People Synthwulf - Acid Train Darren Styles - Rest Of Your Life Perfume - Polyrythm (Synthwulf Remix) Substanced - Heart Of Time (Teddy's No More Heartbeat Remix) Jekyll & Clarkey - Party Like Us Srav3r - Inside The Rain Jack In Box - Original Posse Rick Chubbs - Freeforming Darwin - Parallax Joey Riot & Mike Reverie - Another Dimension Petruccio & Modulate - Rock The Club M-Project - Front To Da Back Apple Mac - Real High Real Fast (Fracus & Darwin Remix) Synthwulf - To The Rave Quickdrop - Blinding Lights Goblins From Mars - Cold Blooded Love (Mike Reverie & Chant-E Flip) A.B - This (Westfest VIP) M-Project & Synthwulf - Star Strider (OMN Album Mix) Mako & Dannic - Beam (Olly P Edit) M-Project feat Jonjo - Right Now See, I told you this mix was diverse as f***. And it contains wicked tracks. So many wicked tracks, it has really made my day. And MrPanda is on a roll throughout the mix. If you want, you can see him via Facebook doing his set live on his four decks. Or if you don't, you can still listen to this mix via Soundcloud, see the player below the review. But whatever it is you are going to do, make sure this mix is being played. I love that this is a diverse mix, and it takes me back to the old days and shoots me back to the present day within a second. Old and new, all combined in this mix. MrPanda's mix is really a good one. From the first record to the last. Yes, there are some 'meh' records, but they are still enjoyable, as they fit in well in this hour long mix. The best record? There are too many to choose from, so I've chosen three. 'Rest Of Your Life', 'This' , and 'Another Dimension'. Those are the three records that move me the most. A solid mix by MrPanda. We need more mixes like this one. More 4 deck random style mixes. And if you do decide to make one, keep it as compact as MrPanda's mix. This is just perfect for me! • Whistles And Horns 5 (2022)

Today it's Wednesday, and it's time for some Happy Hardcore. Why, is there a specific reason, you might ask? Well, the answer to that is no. No specific reason, it is just a day I find suitable for Happy Hardcore. And there might be another reason: I found this new mix by DJ Virus late yesterday, hence why I'm talking and thinking about Happy Hardcore. It would be weird if his latest mix wasn't a Happy Hardcore focussed mix, but it thankfully is. And now I've used the two words Happy and Hardcore a lot in the last few sentences. So what, who's going to stop me? DJ Virus is certainly a DJ I've followed for a few months now, after finding an excellent mix he did (which was also a Happy Hardcore mix), and everything he releases/uploads, is seen by yours truly. And his latest mix is filled with gems, most of them I've not even heard before. All brand spanking new tunes, and all as happy as I am. We've seen a few DJ Virus mixes in the last couple of months, but what makes this one different compared to the others? Well, it's focussed on songs which trigger the whistle and horns crew. The screaming fans, the noisy fans, the fans that make themselves heard. The UK fans are always the noisiest of them all, and at a rave that's a great thing. DJ Virus selected a handful of songs that might trigger you in creating noises in your bedroom/office/living room/car/wherever you are. And obviously a bit of cheese had to be implemented. So which records did he pick? These ones: Shugstylerz - Doo Dey Haze - Mean To Me Horse & Piles - Oh My Gosh GavGStyle - Anyone Can Dance (90's Happy Hardcore Mix) Richter Party - Hardcore Is Heaven Gen - Knuckle Arrow Bodger & Badger - The Rebel Devil Licious - By My Side (Richter Party Remix) Tom Heist - We Are Forever Hysteria - Happiness Is Hardcore MJ Project - Edd's Generation Richter Party - Stay Vibes & Wishdokta - No More Tears (Haze 2022 Remix) Finch & Blumchen - Herzalarm Gen - Kamigoye Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo - Last Goodbye (Rave Mix) Ultra-Sonic & Dream Frequency - Feeling Alright I feel like such an idiot, in my honest opinion. I feel so dumb. I went into this mix thinking it was all 90s Happy Hardcore anthems, but they are all brand spanking new! And I should have known, being a Happy Hardcore fan. Oh, the shame... Yes, it's embarrassing but true. I thought these were all undiscovered tracks from the 90s, but they are new, and have got this distinctive 90s sound. And it's glorious. After I've encountered my own stupidity headfirst, I now know what this mix actually contains, and it has made me even happier, is that even possible? This is a very happy mix, and it's been playing over and over since 7am. I am feeling the happy vibes coming through my speakers, and I feel enlightened. Hearing these new 'old sounding' Happy Hardcore anthems, it gives me hope. Happy Hardcore did not die after all in 1998. I have to admit that seeing 'Last Goodbye' made me wonder: is this an unreleased song by CL & MT? I was a full on fan in the 90s, but never encountered this one. But it's a new song, only made public this year. Maybe for their final tour ever? DJ Virus' mix is yet another great one. And it creates more smiles than ever before! More smiles, please. More happiness. More cheese. More of this! Can't wait for more whistles and horns!
