  • deadmau5 Live @ BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix (2008)

You, reader, are obviously someone who's seen this website before, and you might have clocked that this isn't the first time I've written about deadmau5's mix, which he made for the legendary BBC Radio 1 Essential mix, presented by Pete Tong, back in 2008. I think this review must be the third of fourth time I've written about this mix, yet due to Trojan horses, the older websites aren't available anymore, hence why I am writing about it again. Why, you might ask? Well, good question. First of all, another BBC Radio 1 Essential mix got me into this mode. It was a mix made by the legendary duo Daft Punk, from back in the 90s, before they decided to split. Youtube's algorithm showed me this as a good 'follow up' mix, and obviously me remembering this mix, I had to click 'play', and the next 2 hours I was in full awe of the music made back in 2008, when Deadmau5 wasn't as big as he is in 2021. He was still working on making his shows the best out there, and his music even better. I don't know how or why, but deadmau5 came to my attention many years ago. I think I spotted one of his tracks on an 'underground' album, released in Belgium, and I just got hooked. And when he made this special 'Essential Mix', he turned everyone around, and made them focus on him, and what he's capable of. Not just a gimmick DJ/producer, who just wears a silly mouse mask. Nah, deadmau5 is so much more. A music enthusiast would be an understatement. A sound lover. A fan of everything that creates sounds. Have you ever seen his studio? Immense. So, this mix. You must have seen and heard this one before. And I'm guessing that you adore this mix as much as I do, right? If you were too young back in 2008 to hear this mix, and in a strange and bizarre reason you have not heard this before, let me grab your attention, by showing you the tracklist: deadmau5 - Secondary Complications deadmau5 - Sometimes Things Get, Whatever deadmau5 - Bye Friend Sydney Blu - Senses Of The Mind deadmau5 vs JELO - The Reward Is More Cheese deadmau5 feat MC Flipside - Hi Friend BSOD - Milton Supermayer - 2 Of Us (deadmau5 Edit) Nathan Fake - The Sky Was Pink (deadmau5 Edit) Matt Rock - What You Feel (deadmau5 Remix) deadmau5 - Desynchronised John Dahlback - Pyramid deadmau5 - Faxing Berlin deadmau5 - Faxing Berlin w/ Morgan Page feat Lissie - The Longest Road (Acappella) deadmau5 & Kaskade - I Remember deadmau5 - Arguru (Piano Acoustic Version) deadmau5 - Alone With You deadmau5 - Brazil (Second Edit) deadmau5 - Clockwork deadmau5 - Jaded So, if you are unaware of who deadmau5 is and what he has made back in the day, you will be in for something special. This is full of his own stuff, including records released on his own label, MAU5TRAP. What you get, is basically 2 hours of pure pornography. This is an eargasm filled mix. You don't want this mix to ever end. And I'm not joking. This is a very tight mix, but leave that to mr mau5 to make something sound so effortless. And of course he had to play the big hits from the mid to late 2000s. Of course he couldn't make a mix without 'Jaded',' Faxing Berlin' (this was the track that I heard for the first time on that Belgium compilation, which got me interested in deadmau5), 'The Reward Is More Cheese', etc. And the biggest tune of 2008: 'I Remember'. When that video was released, I was just blown away. Fucking epic tune. And of course I had to put that one down as my favourite one of this mix. It's just a timeless classic. All the other tunes are sick too, but ' I Remember' just remains the most emotional record of them all. I cannot talk anymore about this mix, I just need to have this blasting out my speakers. I am waisting precious time writing this stuff: instead, I could be dancing and clubbing in my living room, which I much rather do at the moment. So, just enjoy this mix as much as you can, and turn it right up. • Speedy J - Live @ Shockers 2003

So this happened. Yeah, you read that right. A Speedy J set from a legendary event called Shockers. Remember it? Do you remember this event? Has anyone actually been to this? I remember when it was my raving year that I really wanted to go to it but I chose another event, Innercity, instead. Still got my Techno fix. But after purchasing a few CDs, I got the bug, and then sadly.... it disappeared. I never got the chance to go to it, but I really, really wanted to go. But now, many years later, I can catch a glimpse of what happened during the 2003 edition of Shockers. And what better way to start getting an insight into this event than Speedy J's set. The Techno legend. I was a huge fan of Speedy J during the late 90s and early 2000s. I remember buying one of his albums, and to this day I don't know what happened to it. I think it was called Loudboxer. I think I must have given it to someone, borrowing them this album, and it never returned. Fuck that. Never do that again. But the kids nowadays don't have the luxury to 'share' CDs. That was a thing during the 90s and early 2000s, and many CDs have disappeared. But Speedy J still remains, to this day, a huge influence in my life. I love his enthusiasm and passion for Techno, and he not only captured my attention, but the whole world. This DJ has played all over the world, and build an empire around his name. He's synonymous to Techno. People do think of him when you use the word 'Techno', and his live sets are always astonishing. I did see him at Innercity, back in 2001 (I think) and I remember him giving me blisters. Fuck me, I stomped the floor so hard, I had blisters for days. And after listening to this set at work today, I had neck issues. I was bopping so hard to this, I looked like a right lunatic. Just be warned, the tracklist isn't complete, so if you are a whizkid and you know the ID-less anthems, please fill them in. Would be interesting to know all the records he used for this set. Also, be warned, this set is intoxicating. You won't be able to stop yourself moving viciously. Speedy J - Glitch Speedy J - Krekc (Major Rush Remix) Chris Liebing - Analogen (Speedy J Remix) ID - ID ID - ID Speedy J - Bugmod Speedy J - Tannga Speedy J - Glov Electric Deluxe - Electric Deluxe (Speedy J Remix) Speedy J - Cop Roll ID - ID There are three tracks which we require the track titles and artist names from. If you would be so kind to provide me with these names, that would be appreciated. Not only by myself, but also by the Techno community. As someone said on Youtube, 'Speedy J ain't joking in this set'. And that's the truth. He does not take any prisoners, and he makes sure that you won't stop dancing. And the transitions are smooth as hell. Seriously, you won't even notice a track already being played. It's one continuous set with continuous track changes, and you don't even notice them! This kind of Techno gets me going each and every time. It's rough, raw, and elegant. But, as mentioned before, it will get you dancing until you can't no more. You will probably hug the bar, and you need some refreshments to get you through Speedy J's set. Can't remember how I was during his set at Innercity, but many beverages went down my neck. Yes, I was drunk, so what? I won't continue for much longer. If you love Techno, you should check out this set. I really, really enjoyed it, and it takes me back to those golden years. A fanfuckingtastic set by one of the leading pioneers of Techno music. Best Techno set I've heard in a long, long time! Best record? Well, it's the track before 'Bugmod', so whoever knows that specific title, gets a prize. But yeah, that track. Whoever made it, you are a superstar (it is probably Speedy J, isn't it? • Acid Assault Takeover on Mix Hit Radio by Miss Monument (2021)

The weekend is about to end in a few hours, but why not end on a high note? We all need a bit of oomph at the start of a new week, which most of us will be spending at home. And if you can recall, we had a mix presented to us a long time ago, which was made by Miss Monument. After a short hiatus, she's back with a brand spanking new mix. One focussed on Acid, and don't we all just love Acid? Obviously not the drug kind, but the music kind. Well, whatever floats your boat: if you want to be on acid whilst listening to this mix, go nuts! I'm not familiar with the Acid Breaks sound. The only Acid sound I listen to, is Acid House. You know, the kind of music the kids would use to listen to back in the 80s. So this 'new' style seems to be interesting, if it does have the Acid influences from back in the days, and it certainly has got a late 80s vibe, combined with 20s sound. So don't worry, this isn't going to be a boring mix. I do love myself a bit of Breakbeat here and there, and if you go to Miss Monument's Soundcloud page, there's a lot of music to get you going through the upcoming week. But for now, let's focus on the end of the weekend, and end on something rough and raw. Acid Breaks anyone? Here's the tracklist for all you Acid lovers... Luca Lozano - Super Rhythm Track Meat Katie - Sutter (Original Mix) Radio Slave - Wait A Minute Chicago Loop - The Futurist (Meat Katie Remix) Chicago Loop - On Acid (Original Mix) Mr. FrOg - Almax (Original Mix) Private Caller - History In The Making (Fantazia Mix) MartOpetEr - Irony (Too Dusty Remix) Modulizer - Nasa Agreement (MartOpetEr Remix) Pilo - Acid By Mouth (Original Mix) Client_03 - Wavefile_Dayjob Dawn Razor - Be As One 1 jAcid - Paverkansopertion Slam - Primitive Shift (Original Mix) T99 - Anasthasia (CYRK Remix) So, looking at this tracklist makes me smile. Only one name does ring a bell, and that's obviously T99. But that's it. Not one other artist is known by yours truly. So what does that actually mean? It means that I'm going into this mix with an open mind, and no prejudice. And also the fact that I will let the music speak to me, and not who has made it. The music should be the only thing that counts, not who made it. So Miss Monument made this mix for Mix Hit Radio, which was aired in February 2021. Another new thing for me to discover, never heard of this radio station before, but if they play more of this kind of music, count me in as a new listener. I'm getting bored of the standard radio stations, I need more power coming out of my speakers. The music itself is great. Really loving the Acid-y vibes. It strongly resembles Techno music, but it has its own twist to it. And Miss Monument's track selection is really great. I really enjoyed this mix. The track that makes me rave the hardest has to be 'Wait A Minute' by Radio Slave. So many late 80s/early90s vibes. A wonderful mix, we need more of this Acid stuff. Hopefully Miss Monument will upload more mixes like this one, to get us all hooked to this music. More please! • The Weeknd - The Highlights (2021)

The weekend has started! And name one better album to start your weekend with? One suitable album to let the world know the weekend has started, is The Weeknd's latest album called 'The Highlights'. This Canadian producer and singer has had a blinding career so far, with him playing all over the world, and most recently the Super Bowl. If you haven't heard of this name before, I am wondering which cave you have been hiding in for the last few years. If you are, and this is the first time you come across his name, no worries: there's plenty of time (and music) to catch up on. You might not know that this superstar is only 31 years old, but has already a lot of albums on his name. His discography is already impressive. And they are well received. He has gained attention with his latest hits, but gained my personal attention when I heard his collaboration songs with the French duo, oh, you might have heard of them before: Daft Punk. I'm not sure when he released the song 'Blinding Lights', but that song took me by surprise, and got everyone talking: who is this bloke? Who is the man behind the facade? And can anyone explain to us what his purpose is, in regards to his videos? Seriously, does anyone know the reason behind each video? Are they linked? And if so, how? Obviously you hate him or love him, but you cannot deny his impact on popular dance music. He took it to the next level. And his voice is just so recognisable, and yet, with every song, he makes sure that he doesn't repeat his repertoire over and over, and takes us constantly on an adventure. Each song is different, and exciting. And the best bit? The tracks I know and love, they all have this vibe that takes us back to the 80s/90s. Not many artists in 2021 can pull that off. Some try, and fail. The Weeknd does not. But don't let his red jacket put you off, or think he isn't capable of bringing the heat: there are certain records on this album which will blow you into smithereens! Trust me, you need to put the bass level up to the max, and the tremble also. Wake up the neighbourhood, and make sure that each panel in your car is trembling. Don't think that he just brings a bit of heat: this man is on fire! My speakers attached to my PC/Mac don't do these songs any justice, but thankfully I've got a car with descent speakers, so I have enjoyed these songs, and the trembling bass and melody coming towards me. For those who aren't familiar with this page: I'm not TMZ, or any entertainment site. I only focus on the music, and not the person who's behind the name The Weeknd, so we only talk music. And with his latest album, which is already his second greatest hits album, he has put 18 records on one single album, and makes sure you are blown away by his voice, and his producing skills. And if you want more, just check out The Weeknd on Youtube: plenty of awesome videos. Executed beautifully. If there's one thing he can do, is take you to Heaven and back. As I don't listen to the lyrics most of the time, you might assume that the message does not come across, but trust me: the music grabs me, lifts me up, and when needed, drops me down, back to Earth. And boy, it hurts when the journey stops. And on 'The Highlights' the journey is ended after the 18th song, and the first thing you do, is start with number 1 again. You just have to. The Weeknd is as addictive as hell. So which records are selected to be his highlights, as we speak? Which records have been on our radio constantly, and repeatedly? Which records are well embedded in musical history? And cemented his status as a well respected and much loved artist? Well, here's the tracklist: The Weeknd - Save Your Tears The Weeknd - Blinding Lights The Weeknd - In Your Eyes The Weeknd - Can't Feel My Face The Weeknd feat Daft Punk - I Feel It Coming The Weeknd feat Daft Punk - Starboy The Weeknd & Kendrick Lamar - Pray For Me The Weeknd - Heartless The Weeknd - Often The Weeknd - The Hills The Weeknd - Call Out My Name The Weeknd - Die For You The Weeknd - Earned It The Weekend & Ariana Grande - Love Me Harder The Weeknd - Acquainted The Weeknd - Wicked Games The Weeknd - The Morning The Weeknd - After Hours So, this album happened. And was I ready for it? Hell no. If truth be told, I was thinking of purchasing some albums this weekend, and not just by The Weeknd, but when I came across this album, I just had to stop a second, and absorb what he just gave the world. Yes, I fully understand that he has already given these songs to the world, and we are all grateful for it, but come on: a masterpiece with only the finest Weeknd songs? 2021 isn't that bad after all, eh? After listening to this album over and over today, it just dawned on me: The Weeknd is a superstar. The world knows, but to me he's at the moment the most respected and most loved artist. And I'm a picky person. And how did I come to this conclusion? Well, just put any, and I do mean any Weeknd song on, and we all know it, and love it, and sing along, as much as I can (again, I don't listen to lyrics). The music is composed extremely well, and his voice is just what we need in the 20s. He's only 31, but he's going to stick for a very long time, and as long as he keeps entertaining us and surprises us with new adventures, we won't complain. Each and every song feels emotional. Obviously the album comes with a warning of explicit language, but you were expecting it. You cannot sing a song without putting your emotions in, and when people discuss their emotions, things get heated, and you swear from time to time. So does The Weeknd, so if you were hoping for radio friendly songs, oops. Sorry. He doesn't compromise, he delivers. I am in awe of each song. It features songs which were also used for films, the likes of Fifty Shades Of Grey and Black Panther. But not just the most 'recent' songs were used, also a few from his earlier albums, ranging from 'House Of Balloons' to 'My Dear Melancholy', to obviously 'After Hours', which probably has the freakiest album cover I've seen in a long time. I am a fan of The Weeknd, and that doesn't happen that often. The last time I really got turned into a fanboy was back in the 90s, when 2Unlimited were hot. And they were the ones I was in awe of. The Weeknd is currently the hottest artist on God's given Earth, and he brings the fire. Sometimes it becomes too hot to listen to, and you have to sit in a cool bath, just to cool down. I do love the records from his latest album, but to pick one favourite from this specific greatest hits album was difficult, but it has to be the one which got me thinking the most, and to me is filled with the most emotions: 'Call Out My Name'. What a deep record. If you want to experience how deep The Weeknd can go, and how he can make you feel sad and empty at the end, listen to this. So much emotions. And watch the video, worth a watch. This album has made my Weeknd. And trust me, during COVID there aren't many things that make my weekend. This album was unexpected, but I really enjoyed it. Go check it out, and purchase this album. And don't forget: The Weeknd isn't just for the weekends! • Essential Guide To JamX & De Leon aka DuMonde (1999-2004) (2019)

Friday, that is today. And let's start the weekend with some greatness. A mix I've not heard before, but one I should have discovered sooner. It's a dedication mix, focussed on the German Hard Trance legends DuMonde, a.k.a. JamX & De Leon. The mix was made by Johan N. Lecander, and it's jam packed with DuMonde stuff, from around the Millennium. If you grew up with Trance and Hard Trance during those years, you must know the legends, and their awesome productions. Truth be told, when it was the Millennium, I liked a lot of their productions. Not really sure what happened to them, if I'm honest. They just faded away, which is a shame. But during their successful years, they did have a lot of excellent tracks, and Johan's mix contains a lot of excellent tunes, including my personal favourite 'Can U Dig It?', a classic anthems you heard everywhere when it was released back in 2002. Obviously they made lots more records, but Johan kept it to 12, which is sufficient enough for us to get a fix for the weekend. We are getting closer to raving again, so let's focus on the positives. It still baffles me that Trance has been around longer than most of us think. Some of the tracks used for this mix, which ranges between the years 1999 until 2004, are 22 years old. Let that sink it. Just think of that for a second. The minute you hear them, it feels like you heard them last one a handful of years ago, not 22 years ago! DuMonde, a.k.a. JamX & De Leon were successful and have given us memorable anthems. And let's start our weekend with a few of those anthems: DuMonde - See The Light (Original Mix) Face - The Face (Attack Mix) JamX - Warriors (Original Mix) JamX joins B.I.A. - ! Das Licht ! (DJ JamX & DeLeon's DuMonde Remix) De Leon - Fate (Original Mix) JamX & De Leon - Sexomatic (Re-work) No Faces - I Can Fly (Original Mix) Kaylab - Here We Go (JamX & De Leon Remix) DJ Snowman - ... And Then They Start To Dance (JamX & De Leon's DuMonde Mix) De Leon - Hold It (Original Mix) JamX & De Leon - Can U Dig It? (Self Control) Steve Morley - Reincarnations (DJ JamX & De Leon's DuMonde Remix) Johan also added a few of DuMonde's remixes, and JamX and De Leon's own productions in there. their own solo productions. As good as they were on their own, as good as they were together. And I have to say again, I was a fan of their music. I really loved to see a CD with their songs on it. It made me purchase them and absorb the music. I was such a cheapskate for Hard Trance back then. My God, they had some memorable anthems. A few are found in this mix, and you definitely know them. But one I rediscovered only a few days ago, and I can't even remember when it was the first and last time I heard it. I am talking about 'Reincarnations' by Steve Morley, remixed by DuMonde. It must be a very long time though. I said in a previous review that this was my favourite song of this specific mix, but will this be the same for this mix? Nope. I have to take the standard road, and say 'Can U Dig It?. That's my DuMonde's favourite record. Sorry but not sorry. It was on each compilation you bought, it was played at so many events, and it might have been a tad overkilled at the time, it still packs a punch, and delivers the message. Crowds would loose themselves even more when this song came on. I really enjoyed this mix. Good mix, thanks Johan for making this. We need to have more 'old' Hard Trance mixes by legends such as DuMonde. If you do know what actually happened to them, leave a note below. Interesting to know what happened to them. Their music is sorely missed, but remembered, 22 years onward. DJ: Johan N. • Classic Trance Mix (96-00) #1 (2020)

It is another week in paradise. Well, as we all know, that's not strictly true. We are still indoors, waiting for COVID to do one. We are getting fed up with our restrictions, and it's about time for us to start getting ready for the Summer. The Summer of dancing our arses off. Like we used to do. You remember those golden years? Does feel like it was a decade ago. This current environment isn't doing anybody any good. Well, at least we've got some entertainment online, I suppose? So what have I got for you all today? Well, it's a mix I am really pleased to announce. A mix I found by accident (not really, it's Youtube's algorithm that provided me this mix). I saw the tracklist, I saw the title of the mix, and I was hooked, and shocked. Shocked, because it dawned on me that Trance is quite old. And how many of the anthems from the early years simply have been forgotten about. And this mix is full of wicked anthems. Seriously impressive stuff, by someone called rich webb. I have to say that the early Trance is my guilty pleasure. I can always listen to this, and it makes me extremely happy. Does that mean every single early Trance anthem is great? No, not really, but what if there's a mix with only banging tunes? I am guessing that you are hoping for me to present to you a mix which has got all those bangers, right? And the answer to that is yes. And this isn't the only mix he's made: there are a few others you might enjoy. But let's focus on the first in this mix series. Here's the tracklist for you spacey people. Make sure you are ready for a lot of memories from the late 90s... Ayla - Ayla (DJ Taucher Remix) Nalin & Kane - Beachball (Original Club Mix) Y Traxx - Mystery Land (Sickboy's Courtyard Remix) Three Drives - Greece 2000 (Original Mix) CRW - I Feel Love (RAF Zone Mix) Southside Spinners - Luvstruck (Original Mix) Paul van Dyk - For An Angel (E-Werk Club Mix) Quake - Mantra (Forever) (Original Mix) Dejure - Sanctuary (Original Mix) Signum - What Ya Got 4 Me (Original 12'' Vocal Mix) Steve Morley - Reincarnations (DJ JamX & De Leons DuMonde Remix) Mauro Picotto - Lizard (1999 Claxixx Mix) Binary Finary - 1998 (Matt Darey Remix) Delerium - Heaven's Earth (Matt Darey Remix) Push - Universal Nation (Ferry Corsten '99 Remix) Niels Van Gogh - Pulverturm (DJ Tomcraft Remix) B.B.E. - Seven Days And One Week (Original Mix) Robert Miles - Children (Dream Version) Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar (DJ Kid Paul Mix) Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar (Nalin & Kane Remix) So many memories for me are linked to each and every track. I remember starting raving during the late 90s, and when these tunes were played, the crowd went mad. And I'm talking non-mobile phone mad. Hands in the air, and waving them around. Touching the sky, as much as we could. Trance was so damn cool. As good as the Trance today is, it won't ever beat the 90s and Millennium sound. I have to say that from the first time I listened to this mix to now I have enjoyed myself a lot. It took me back to the beaches of Greece, and Italy too. Whoever made this mix (rich webb) you sir, are a hero. You have taken 20 records, all wicked Trance anthems, and crammed them in a spectacular mix. Really a blessing to hear these anthems again, and around half a million listeners agree with me. Too many wicked anthems to mention. Obviously you have the standard anthems, like 'Lizard', 'Cafe Del Mar', 'For An Angel', 'Ayla', and of course 'Beachball', and come on, be honest... you know all these anthems and love them all right? Don't be afraid to express your feelings when you hear this mix! I had to choose one record, and simply couldn't. Two records are my all time favourite Trance anthems. Why? Because they rock, ladies and gentlemen. And the two I had to pick as my favourite are 'I Feel Love' by CRW, RAF Zone Mix. And Steve Morley's 'Reincarnations', remixed by JamX & De Leon. Fucking epic anthems. Fuck me, they are solid as a rock! I had to turn off the speakers and put on the headphones, just to get the music closer to my brain. Please, take me back to the golden days of Trance. This pure and unadulterated sound is just so precious, and you don't get that anywhere else. Take not just my word, but also those commenters on Youtube. This mix is dope. Seriously dope. Already my most favourite mix of 2021, and it has only started (ish). I will certainly check out his other Trance mixes. If they are as good as this one, boy, I'll be in for a treat! • Millennium Hardcore #01 (2021)

The weekend is here, and we can start counting down. Counting down to what? The day we will be released. Relieved of this nasty nightmare we all call COVID-19. It has been an issue for all of us, and it has led to most of not being able to rave as hard as we did before. Luckily, the end is near, and somewhere in the Netherlands they organised a controllable party with thousand people, and as I've not read anything about it yet, it seems to be OK, so there's light at the end of the tunnel. Just a few more months, and we will be back to normal. To celebrate it, let's start this weekend with something that will blast your speakers, something that will blow your mind up. Or as they would say smithereens! A mix so full of epic anthems, it's going to hurt you internally. Maybe this mix should come with a caution warning sign? As you are all aware, I'm a huge fan of Millennium Hardcore, and today's mix is one filled with 2000s anthems. Anthems thankfully not forgotten about. And it's mixed by Exagon Hardcore. A new name in my books. But he's done a great job in making my weekend one hell of a weekend! Rough and raw as hell. For those too young to understand what Millennium Hardcore is, let me paint a scene: it's 2000-ish, and Hardcore music was superb. There we go, your painting. It was glorious. The music was so damn good. Of course we had our moments, and certain records (which we shall not name) will never see the light of day again, but those that we loved, we still cherish to this day. And Exagon has used a lot of those records for his Millennium Hardcore mix. Time to show you the goods. Here's the tracklist (kindly provided by Hansolo): Promo & Catscan - Toch Welleuk T-Junction & Osiris feat MC Syco - What's Up With Life (Masters Of Ceremony Remix) Project Omeaga - Prednison Attack The Viper & Tommyknocker feat MC Da Mouth Of Madness - The Prophecy Unfolds Hard Creation - Let's Get 'm All Paul Elstak vs Tommyknocker - Danger Danger Evil Activities feat DJ Neophyte - To You Who Doubt Me The Stunned Guys & Paul Elstak - Thrillseeka The Viper & Tommyknocker feat MC Da Mouth Of Madness - The Prophecy Unfolds (Tha Playah Remix) Tha Playah - Rotterdam Nightmare T-Junction - The Rise And Fall DJ Neophyte & Evil Activities - Party Like Us DJ Neophyte & Scott Brown - Blast Your Ass Paul Elstak vs Tommyknocker - Party Hard DJ Neophyte & Evil Activities - One Of These Days Alex B & D-Passion - Ster Allures This, to me, is basically a mix dedicated to Rotterdam. Or am I just being a div? So many records by well known producers from Rotterdam, like Paul Elstak, Neophyte, and more. Or am I being too bland and not noticing that Scott Brown is there, who is from Scotland, and Stunned Guys from Italy? Same applies to Tommyknocker.... let's just say I get a lot of Rotterdam Hardcore vibes when hearing these songs. Exagon's mix contains the records I really needed to hear, even though I didn't ask for it. I wasn't looking for them, but once I heard these songs, I knew that I wanted to hear the Millennium sound, I wanted it desperately. And I'm happy I pressed play on this mix: it has made my weekend so much better already, and it has only just started. There are a shit ton of records in here I heard at the parties I visited during the Millennium period, and they take me right back to the dance floors. It was majestic, and to relive those moments in my head just made everything better. Thanks for that, Exagon. The best record? It was difficult, but I chose 'The Rise And Fall' by T-Junction. An underrated classic anthem. Big, seriously big anthem. Still has the power to demolish eardrums in 2021! A wicked mix with tiny errors, but nothing to worry about. It gets my seal of approval!! • DEFECTIVE - PROJECT BASS (2021)

I hope you are all okay and safe. Stay at home, stay safe. If you have to walk out, do it the Piers Morgan way. But all jokes aside, stay safe. Only a few more months until the end of lockdown, and we can all go back partying. Until then, let Soundcloud be your daily hub of awesome music. And today, on this windy Wednesday, I've got one where the focus is fully on reverse bass. Yep, that's still alive and kicking. Haven't seen any of this in a while, so it's a nice mix to break the week in half. Defective got behind the decks a few weeks ago, and decided to give us a reverse bass mix. Only 40 minutes long, but if you are working out, this could be a good mix to listen to when you are sweating your balls off. Well, you know what I mean. You always need bouncy music to keep you going in the gym or at home: listening to Jazz won't give you that edge. You need that raw power. And Defective's mix is full of bangers. Bangers I've not heard before. Before I show you the tracklist, let me be honest with you guys: reverse bass ain't my favourite style. It is OK, but it's not in my top 10 favourite styles of all time. I don't even normally look for them on Soundcloud or any other platform: I stumbled by accident onto this mix. And as sceptical as I might be, I thought I'd give this a go. Why not? What have I got to lose? So, here is the tracklist. Have fun with it! Darren Styles & TNT - Wonder Technikal, Suae & Dimatik - Time Stood Still Gammer & Henry Fong - The Feeling TNT & Coone - Pump Up The Jam Mkn, Toy Soldierz & Sik-Wit-It - Rock Star TNT - FYAH DJ Isaac - I Want You Toneshifterz, Timmy Trumpet & Will Sparks - FUCK YEAH DJ Isaac - Party People TNT - Drop The Deal KamiKaze & Hypnotic - Move Your Body TNT & Ruffneck - Mindcontroller 2k20 TNT, Tuneboy & Technoboy - Gung A short mix, and a short tracklist. Easy for me to type. But obviously the length of the mix or the amount of records isn't really that important, it is more important if the mix is any good. And the answer to that is yes. Right out of the gate I have to say that I liked the mix. Defective has done a great job in compiling this mix and making it sound effortless. Certain tunes take me back to the early Hardstyle days, and some... well... aren't my thing. It's a mix and match of tracks that I like, and not so much. The best track has to be DJ Isaac's 'I Want You'. Early vibes everywhere. Really like it. Closely followed by 'Mindcontroller 2k20'. Another slammer. And I do like 'Time Stood Still'. I don't like the too cheesy and commercial stuff like 'FUCK YEAH' or 'Pump Up The Jam'. That's just too much for me. All in all a nice mix, good mixed, and OK tracks. • 1988 Acid House Mix - DJ Faydz (2018)

Sunday. Another day spent at home. Well, we all do it to keep each other safe, and free from COVID. Sometimes you do something special, like walking in the park, running, or do your weekly shopping. But most of us just sit indoors and do nothing spectacular. Well, I did something musical, but not of any interest to you guys: I put new strings on my wife's Fender guitar. That's the most musical thing I've done in a long time. I'd rather stick with reviewing mixes, and today I've got one which was released three years ago, and was mixed by DJ Faydz. I always have some special feelings whenever I hear Acid House music. The sound itself was big during the late 80s, and sadly I was too young to understand it, or even to hear it (it wasn't that big on the radio), so I missed it completely. But over the years I've caught up on everything that I've missed. And the music, as basic as it sometimes might be, is so darn good. It was new, refreshing, and exciting at the time. It was so revolutionary, it spawned so many other styles. It gave birth to so much more than just House music. Alongside Techno, these two styles have been so influential for many producers and DJs. It is nice to hear a proper 1988 Acid House mix, and it being mixed by DJ Faydz, that's an added bonus. This mix master knows exactly how to please the listeners, and with this mix he decided to go all out, and play the finest Acid House tunes from 1988. Mixed them together nicely. And it's certainly pleasuring to hear. The tracks might sound rough and unedited, but don't forget: these tunes were released 33 years ago. Technology was in its early stages, and with the limited technological equipment they did make musical history. But the main question is, which records have been selected by DJ Faydz? Intro - 1988 BBC News Intro Armando - Land Of Confusion Fast Eddie - Hip House Separate Minds - 1st Bass Kraze - The Party Westbam - Monkey Say, Monkey Do Frankie Bones- Funky Acid Makossa 2 In A Room - Somebody In The House Say Yeah Adonis - No Way Back Phuture - Acid Tracks! Da Posse - In The Heat Of The Night Dancer - Boom Boom EON - Light Colour Sound Sleezy D - I've Lost Control Bam Bam - Where's Your Child The House Gang - Bango Acid Pierre's Pfantasy Club - Fantasy Girl Mr Lee - Pump Up London Charles B - Lack Of Love Phuture - Slam! Maurice Joshua & Hot Hands Hula - This Is Acid Fast Eddie - Acid Thunder Da Posse - It's My Life Seduction - Seduction Jomanda - Make My Body Rock This is a cool mix to end the weekend with. Credits to the DJ for having the BBC News section as the intro. Oh how these people were wrong about Acid House, eh? It's not just about drugs. It is so much more than just drugs. I'm currently listening to it, and I'm not on drugs. But there might have been drugs involved during the 80s. Yeah, that's the truth. But the music is still alive and kicking, and it's so much more than just being cool to people who are on drugs, right? The mix contains a lot of excellent anthems from 1988. Some well known, some obscure underground anthems, and one absolutely astonishing track, which has got to be in my top 3 Acid House most favourite anthems of all time. Let me just say that it's my favourite record of this mix, and if you've got another record, that's brilliant. But for me 'I've Lost Control' is just so damn dark, edgy, and so unique. I've not come across anything like this record since. DJ Faydz delivers yet another wicked mix. Only a tiny bit of scratching at the beginning of the mix, but then the focus is fully on the music. But let's not forget to give DJ Faydz the credit for making this wicked Acid House mix. Truly astonishing, and the tracks are all ace. All of them. It does make me wonder what happened to these producers? Did they know in 1988 that they were making groundbreaking music? Did they have a clue that they were cementing their names in music history? Only love and appreciation for this mix. Show your love and support, and press play right now! • Bass-D & King Matthew In The Mix - Volume 2 (2001)

It is Friday. Thank the Lord, or whoever you pray to. After a long ass week, we need something to wind us down. Relaxing time is what we need. So guess what kind of music I've got for you all? Hardcore from the 2000s! Some might call me insane and idiotic, and I'm used to that, but sometimes you just need that kind of music to relax to. You might disagree, which is absolutely fine, so maybe you need to read other reviews, if Hardcore is just too tough for you. But if you are Hardcore to the bone, make sure you stick until the end of the review. Back in the days, around the Millennium, I used to crave Hardcore music as others craved air. I needed it so much, I bought so many CDs. It was obsessive. Got rid of most, if truth be told. Most got damaged beyond repair, so the only place they are currently at, is the dump. Or recycling centres, as the most sophisticated among us would say. One of the CDs I had but completely forgot about, was this 'In The Mix' CD, mixed by Bass-D and King Matthew. Never owned the first instalment, or any of the CDs which followed. Only this one. I know it's a shame, but thankfully we have got the internet, so I can capture exactly what I was listening to back in 2001, and what I've missed. This CD contained 34 records. All mixed together nicely by two legends of the Hardcore scene. These records do have a distinctive Masters Of Hardcore sound, which was (and still is) extremely popular around the Millennium. I don't know how to explain what that sound is, but if you are a true Hardcore fanatic, you know exactly what I'm talking about. It's so unique, and different. There were many styles around that time, and MoH's sound was so spot on for me personally. Hence why I also bought nearly every MoH CD released (only the early years, if truth be told). Was this the best mix CD from the Millennium? It was nicely mixed together, yeah, can give them the credit they deserve, but it's not the best of the best. It's OK, if I'm honest. A good mix to listen to, and reminisce. A long forgotten sound. The good ol' days, eh? Here's the tracklist for all you Hardcore freaks! DJ Outblast - Communication Crime Lab - 4 The Hardcore Art Of Fighters - Too Strange Dr. Macabre - Poltergeist The D.O.C. - Out There (Dr. Z-Vago & Outblast Remix) Promo - Life From The Other Side The Masochist vs Chosen Few - More Drugz DJ Outblast - The Gates Are Open Meagashira - End Of Line The Blaster - War Is Coming Man Stunned Guys vs DJ Paul - Thrillseeka (T-Factor Remix) Core Pusher - Devil Down Endymion - We Are The Future Bass-D & King Matthew vs Impulse Factory - Rock The Whole Block DJ Promo vs DJ Bike - No Commercial Sound Alienator - Prey Bass-D & King Matthew - Nuclear Hardcore DJ Outblast - Master's Symphony Masochist vs Bass-D & King Matthew - Get Retarded (Impulse Factory Remix) DJ Promo vs Digital Boy - Serious Damage DJ Dione - Confusing Motherfuckers Alienator vs Headbanger - This Is War Reactor & Raoul vs Miss Flower - Dance Or Die The D.O.C. - Hardcore To The Penis (Promo Remix) DJ Outblast - Hardcore Time J.D.A. - Voel Je Die Bass (Bass-D & King Matthew Remix) Bass-D & King Matthew - More Than Rough The Masochist vs Buzz Fuzz - Hardkoor T-Wisted feat Pino D'Ambini - Respect The Cock DJ Promo - Phreak Ya Speaka Alienator vs Headbanger feat MC Alee - Strike Bass-D & King Matthew - Resistance Is Futile Wedlock & Nosferatu - Fingerprintz (Nosferatu Remix) Masochist - Pump It Up Y'All This takes me right back to the noughties. What a decade that was. The music that was created back then was so amazing. Can't believe the Millennium happened more than 21 years ago. Where the flying fuck has the time gone by? Anyone, tell me where the time has gone to? I only discovered this mix on Youtube the other day, and when I saw the cover, I immediately saw that it was one CD I owned, but don't have anymore. I was a bit reckless with CDs back then, and always threw them around, so scratches became my friend. Or my enemy. I spent a lot of pennies in Satisfaction Records store in Heerlen, and even to this day they recognise me. I've probably spent thousands of euros and guilders in there, and paid toward their pension fund. I am happy to hear these tunes again. I would say that a lot of these were amazing to hear back in the day, and even in 2021. Not all of them have stood the test of time, and sound dated, but some are just pure timeless classics. Classics like 'Serious Damage', 'Devil Down', 'End Of Line',' More Drugz' , etc. All MoH sounding records. That's what I meant by saying that these records have got this distinctive sound. My favourite has to be 'War Is Coming Man' by The Blaster. Haven't heard that one in years. The bass is just so rough and though. I miss that. A good CD, not my all time favourite. It's OK. Carefully mixed by two mighty legends. But not that memorable. It's good to hear in 2021, a trip down memory lane. • 1988 - 1993 House Classics Mix (2012)

I hope you all have a great week. I'm having an OK week, if I'm honest. Nothing excited has happened, but I'm excited to share this 9 year old mix with you all. Obviously you need to be familiar with the music genre we call House, and you need to love the late 80s/early 90s sound, but most of us human beings do, so there's no need to worry; you will love this mix, if you haven't checked it out on Youtube already. This mix already has reached 2.1 million views, 17k+ upvotes, and only 802 downvotes. Don't understand why you would do such a thing, but hey ho, opinions matter. As I grew up with Techno and House music, it is running through my veins. This was the kind of music I adored when I was a wee young lad. I couldn't go out raving back in the years 1988 to 1993, I was only 10 in 1993. I would have certainly be thrown out immediately. And that's sad. Looking back at all the videos of people raving back in those days, it just seems to be so damn cool. A different kind of experience, I presume. Obviously I couldn't go clubbing, but I could still absorb the music. And even to this day I love hearing these late 80s/early 90s tunes. So calm, so relaxing. You just need to close your eyes, and you are in paradise. Again, to fully understand each individual track, you had to experience it when the tunes were smoking hot, and played in the clubs all over the country. But for me they sound awesome, so I'm guessing that those who partied until the break of dawn must have deeper feelings to these tracks. More memories linked to this kind of House. I don't know much about who runs the 'statenhal' account on Youtube, but the DJ made this wicked mix, containing only the true obscure House anthems from those years. And without further ado, let me show you the tracklist. Hell yeah, you will be in for a treat! 4th Measure Men - 4 You A Guy Called Gerard - Voodoo Ray MK - Burning Urban Soul - Alright (Zanzibar Mix) Andronicus - Make You Whole Eddie Flashin Fowlkes - Warwick (Remy & Sven Mix) Fierce Rulling Diva - Amsterdam Slide Blunted Dummies - House For All Reese Project - Colour Of Love (MK Remix) Todd Terry - Jazz Anthem Inner City - Pennies From Heaven (Reese Dream-A-Lot Mix) Fingers Inc. - My House (Acapella) (Overlap of Pennies From Heaven) CLS - Can You Feel It Sultans Of Swing - Dance Together (Energizer Bunny Mix) Liquid - Time To Get Up Ricky Rouge - Strange Love Napoleon - Fortuna Shi-Take - (In The Age Of) Perfect Virtue Rene Et Gaston - Vallée De Larmes Dajae - You Got Me Up (Underground Goodie Mix) Exposure - Party Claps Bassbumpers - The Music's Got Me Sil - Windows Cece Peniston - Finally (Acapella) (Overlap of Windows) Trixxnixx - I'm Hot For You Solitaire Gee - Slumberland Nux Nemo - I Feel It Penetration - Flash Stereogen - Hi-Q Latour - Blue Rhythm Invention - Chronoclasm Halogen - Bliss (Sky Mix) So, this happened. A fantastic hour and 53 minute long House mix. And all tracks are recorded from vinyl, so you might hear the occasional crackling noise, which was common. So what does that mean, in terms of music? Well, one word: Heaven. House Heaven. I cannot speak on everyone's behalf, but I'm guessing most of you lot wouldn't mind hearing this kind of music on a mellow Wednesday, right? One day closer to the end of lockdown, and we could use some happy vibes coming at us through our speakers. Let this mix bring some sunshine and happiness to you. Happiness is what it's all about. And this mix might have some dark underground anthems, you will still feel happy and excited. But which record made you the happiest? Leave a comment below, would be interesting to find out your favourite record. Mine has to be Sil with 'Windows', with Cece Peniston's vocals. And also 'Hi-Q' by Stereogen. Wicked anthems. Not downloadable, but streamable via Youtube. We all have Youtube, and we know how it works, so start streaming this mix. More of this please. More more more. House 4 ever! • Early Hardcore / Oldschool Gabber Mix (2020)

Sunday. And what a week it has been. Firstly, I would suppose to go back to the office on Thursday, but my catalytic converter got stolen. So that wasn't great. Sadly I am not mobile, and it's kind of driving me insane. Insane to such an extent, that I need Hardcore music to calm me down. I know that sounds a bit like a cliche, but it is true. For many Hardcore music is nothing more than just 'boom boom boom' sounds coming through their speakers, but for me it's as important as religion. It is a religion to me, and especially throughout the 90s it became important to me. So when I found this mix a few weeks ago on Youtube, I had to give this ago on this dreadful Sunday. So here it is. The mix you are about to listen to, was made by IVXX. Sadly a name which I've not encountered before, but his mix certainly gets me going. Early Hardcore, Oldschool Gabber, who doesn't get moist from those styles? I certainly do. And IVXX has picked a lot of obscure underground classics you don't hear that often. Of course you do get the classic anthems, but also a few I've not heard since the late 90s, or even early 2000s. A bit of everything is in this mix, and that makes me slightly happier. You get an hour and a half of 90s Hardcore anthems. And I've got to say that I do miss those anthems. I really do. Mixes like this one makes me wish I could travel back in time, to hear those anthems over and over again. That feeling when these tunes were released was ridiculous. I have not felt any hype surrounding a track ever since. The 90s have been so damn good to me, and have played a huge part in my life. And whenever I see a mix with these records, it just brings a tear to my eye. But, the main question obviously is, is this mix worth it? Is this worth 90 minutes of your precious time? Let the tracklist speak for itself. See for yourself why this mix made me moist. Darren Kelly, Attic & Stylzz - Beaten Like A Bitch Steve Shit - Commonya'll Lunatic Asylum - Chaos Effect The Scotchman - Asylum Obliterator - Break It Down E-Rick & Tactic - What The Fuck (Scott Brown Remix) Brainblower - To The Top Enfusia - Lift Me Up Nightbreed - As One Davie Forbes - Techno Renegade (Scott Brown Remix) Myrmidon - Answer Me Knightvision - Humanoid Mystic - Photonic Style Symbiosis Of Sounds - Tales Of Creation And Destruction Cybernators - Ridiculous Lyrics (Ruffex Remix) Predator - Now Ear Diz DJ Tails & Noizer feat General Noise - Throw Your Hands Up The Stunned Guys - Io Sono Vivo Cyclopede - Sicko Ectomorph - The Fall Of Babylon Masters Of Ceremony - Hardcore To Da Bone Parasence - My Turn X-Factor - The Underground Rotterdam Terror Corps - Hardcore Junkies Neophyte - Execute Rotterdam Terror Corps - We Are The Gabbers Creepozoids - One More Time Square Dimensione - A Brand New Dance (Buzzy 1995 Remix) Placid K - Jump 4 Joy (Buzz Fuzz Remix) Rotterdam Terror Corps - You're Dealing With Frank-e & Mars-l - Aeon The Prophet - Rhythm In Your Feet The Stallion & DJ Waxweazle - Take The Tape Out Pino D'Ambini feat Beasty Boy - Motherfucker (Buzzy Goes Old School Mix) Chucky - Don't Fuck With The Chuck (Toys R Us Remix) French Connection - French Connection DJ Yves & DJ Maikel - Runaway The Original Gabber - Headbanger DJ Mystic - All That She Wants DJ Weirdo & Guitar Rob - Be A Gangster The Destroyer - My Brain Is Sick (Happy Hardcore Mix) This is a proper Hardcore mix. A lot of the darker Hardcore anthems, if I'm being honest. But I FUCKING love it. How often do you hear these records, hmm? Tell me, when was the last time you heard 'Io Sono Vivo', or 'Rhythm In Your Feet', or 'Be A Gangster'? You don't. There's a plethora of Hardcore anthems that have slipped into obscurity, and I don't understand why. Thanks to IVXX for making this mix. A bit of nostalgia, crammed into an hour and a half long mix. So many cool and wicked anthems. It's just unbelievable that the 90s have already gone, and aren't coming back. 31 years ago the 90s started, and little did we know that this sound, which was going to be called Hardcore, was going to be humongous. At first we thought it was just a one day wonder, but it has stayed with us for many years to come. And in 2021 it is still alive and kicking. All those haters must feel like a right twat now, right? A wonderful mix. If you weren't around in the 90s and missed a lot of music from those golden years, let this mix be your guide. Maybe you will be highly entertained, or not. I cannot decide on your mood after hearing this, but for me the mood completely changed. It was damn hard to pick one favourite. I was a huge fan of RTC, and 'You're Dealing With' is still one of their finest. But what about 'Throw Your Hands Up' by Tails and Noizer feat General Noise? Or 'Take The Tape Out' by Waxweazle and Stallion? Or 'Execute' by Neophyte? All these anthems are golden. Even the first record in this mix. But my favourite has to be 'Tales Of Creation And Destruction' by Symbiosis Of Sounds. Haven't heard that one in years, and I'm not even kidding! Download this and get this down you. This is really a cool mix. Thanks IVXX for this! I'm certainly going to check his Youtube page out, to see if there's more on his page. More of this please. • Exploration Freeform Mixed By M@rt!n-J (2021)

It is Wednesday, Freeform day. Let's call Wednesday our day from now on. We need more Freeform, and it should be on more people's radar. More focus on Freeform. Therefore, let's start with a mix from one of our main contributors of the site, mr M@rt!n-J. You have seen his mixes here very often, but I'd thought I would take a break. That break didn't last that long, if I'm honest, but it's not a bad thing: one of his latest mixes focussed on the wonderful world we call Freeform. This is not his first, nor his last mix. He will keep providing excellent mixes, be it focussed on Trance, Freeform, UK Hardcore, or whatever floats his boat, he will keep on pushing his capabilities behind the decks. And with this brand new mix he's playing tracks from the finest Freeform producers, and also adding a bit of his own production catalogue into the mix. So what can you expect in this mix? Well, tracks from certain producers you might have heard of before, like Kevin Energy, jD-kiD, Helix, Eufeion, Arcadian, and more. And a few remixes I've not heard before. So an hour of full on Freeform madness. You won't regret playing this. It will demolish your ear drums, but what's their purpose anyway? Who needs them anyway? So this is the tracklist. Check it out! Arcadian - Qualm jD-kiD & Arun presents Stardust - Valhalla Helix - Now Control (Darwin Remix) Helix & Fury - Insane Asylum (Gammer Remix) Eufeion - Finding Binary M@rt!n-J - Into Darkness (UFO Remix) M@rt!n-J - Balearic Sunset Raver Cuts Vol 3 - Bellissima Kevin Energy - The Evil Of The Thriller Rank 1 - Airwaves (Solution Remix) A.B feat Sarah - Let Yourself Go (DJ Fury's Back Room Mix) Sunburst - Eyeball (Finnbarr's Larger Remix) React - Gates Of Paradise jD-KiD - Unforgettable These are all tracks I've not heard before! Something new and refreshing, isn't it? The more new music, the merrier. And with this mix he went all out again. Slammer after slammer. He just simply doesn't stop making mixes for the masses. And if truth be told, he deserves some recognition for what he has done so far. A shit ton of amazing mixes on his Soundcloud, and only a few days ago he uploaded yet another Freeform mix. I am guessing that he's got an impressive music collection. And I'm guessing that's what all the ladies say to him, am I right? (=joke) Now on a serious note, let's focus on the mix. I was actually lying, and I didn't even know it. I do know one track, which was made by Finnbarr, which is still a wicked anthem, and coincidentally my favourite Freeform record in this mix. I wish Finnbarr would release more stuff: he's an excellent producer. Another great mix, what else is there to say? If you love Freeform, make sure you give this mix a like, and share it with everyone you know. A wonderful mix. Thanks M@rt!n-J for yet another exquisite mix. Top notch, mate, top notch. And it's also downloadable, so another bonus! • Thunderdome Early Rave Mix 1995 to 1998 Classics (2020)

It's Sunday, Thunderdome day. Well, it's not an official day anywhere in the world, but to me it is. You just need to end on a high, to get enough energy which can get you through the upcoming week. Furthermore, isn't every day Thunderdome day? How can we survive with at least a few anthems from the Thunderdome collection? The collection that keeps on going and going? So, on that note, let's focus on today's mix, brought to us by the wonderful platform called Youtube. And this mix can be found on DJ Syndrom's page. I don't know much about this DJ, or who actually made this mix (it was his friend Stefan according to the info section underneath this mix). But what I can say is, whoever made this mix, made my Sunday much more pleasant. And there are so many reasons why I'm reviewing this mix, but the main reason for me is the fact that Stefan the mysterious DJ used 21 amazing records, and all of them rock. I seriously mean that. I've seen many mixes over the years, and reviewed thousands. And when they are focussed on the majestic Thunderdome collection, there would always be a few records in there I wouldn't have used in a mix at all. I've never come across a perfect mix with records that I genuinely like. Stefan went through the Thunderdome collection and picked 21 records, which coincidentally are my favourites too! It's like he read my mind. There are obviously more wicked anthems from ID&T's finest CD collection, but to find a mix with only slammers, which makes me feel like a teenager again, is just a bliss. Not one, and I do repeat, not one record selected for this mix is shite. These all suit me very well, and whenever I think of the mighty wizard and the banging tunes which were on each of them, I can only think of these 21 records. And a few more. It is so damn good to see a tracklist with the finest of the finest. Am I wrong in saying that these records define Thunderdome? Would we see these as the best that Thunderdome had to offer? What's your opinion about this? He time coded them too, so you can see which track is playing when, on Youtube. Not that you need that, the video itself contains the exact track name too. But here we go. Let's focus on the tracklist for now, and talk a bit more after you've seen these all time classic tracks. French Connection - French Connection The Stunned Guys - Beats Time Buzz Fuzz - Frequencies 3 Steps Ahead - Gabbers Unite Pino D'Ambini -Up And Down (Ballz) (Original Mix) Chosen Few - Name Of The DJ Buzz Fuzz - Dreamgirll Promo - Kill The Noize Sim - Loud As Fuck (54321 Mix) Pino D'Ambini & Beasty Boy - Do It Again Bertocucci Feranzano - XTC Love Omar Santana - Wizard Of Oh Chosen Few - Name Of The DJ (Buzz Fuzz Remix) 3 Steps Ahead - Goodtime Knightvision - Who Is It? Omar Santana & The Prophet - Old To Da New (Omar Remix) The Prophet - Mayhem M.F. Omar Santana - Omar Fuk It Up Kid Weirdo & Dr. Phil Omanski - One Tribes Jam ('98 Promo Remix) The Prophet - Peptalkin' Jappo & Lancinhouse - Industrial Strength 'The Outro' This is one sick looking tracklist. If I'm honest: whenever I think of Thunderdome, I think of these records. These were exactly the ones that made me bust out the Nikes and start dancing like my feet are on fire. Or, as the Dutch calls it, Hakkuh. And I was fairly good at it, until I gained a few stone and became obese lol. I can still do it, but it looks more like a sluggish mister Blobby. The selection of tracks is immense. A lot of reoccurring names, such as Buzz Fuzz, Omar Santana, and more. And if you were present during the 90s, you must have heard these records over and over again. These dominated the charts all over the Hardcore world. And you can clearly see that there's still a huge fanbase for the 90s sound: this mix already has got 47k+ plays. And there are a lot of those 90s mixes on Youtube, and all are listened to a lot. It's part of our culture, our rich rave history, and these tracks played a huge part in our raving history. You cannot deny the impact these records had when they came out. And these artists shaped the scene as we know and love it. The mix was carefully constructed, and certain sections are just spot on. A few tiny errors, and I'm saying tiny, because they hardly anything to mention. Obviously the main question here is, which record is the greatest? Which one got me hyped up the most? Well, all 21. I do adore DJ Sim's 'Loud As Fuck;. Yeah, let's pick that one, just to keep it easy and simple. A wonderful mix, one that takes me straight back into the 90s. And it makes me miss the 90s even more. It was such a colourful era, and I can remember vividly walking around with my Walkman, big ass headphones with crappy sound yet demolishing bass, Nikes, weird haircut, but loving life. And that's what I'm after in a mix: it should make me happy. And this certainly does make me happy. Does it make you happy? • Vertile's Dimension: LIVE (2021)

I wasn't expecting to share this with you today, seeing as it only just happened. I was chilling on the sofa, and went onto Facebook, and a livestream just hit me in the face. One I wasn't aware of, and I got hooked on immediately. It's by a Hardstyle artist called Vertile, and according to the limited information, this whole liveset has been set up by himself. And if you are in desperate need of some raving vibes, you will experience it throughout this liveset. And as I said, it only happened a few minutes ago. I watched it live live. Not afterwards. I am aware of Vertile, but don't know much about him. I remember hearing 'Change This Place' a few months ago for the first time, and I got hooked from the first time. I do like his kind of approach. Rough, raw, and bleeding fast. And today's livestream was no exception. Now, normally I wouldn't review a set without a tracklist, but the people already uploaded a tracklist. Maybe someone was that eager to show off their knowledge on Vertile, who knows? There's one disappointing element: the set is short. But that's compensated with a fucking blinding light set. Credit not only to the DJ and the light crew, but also the camera crew: the movements makes it more genuine, like you are raving your arse off at an actual event (remember what those used to be like?). This kind of livestream I can sit and watch for hours. Everything about this set was perfect, besides the shortness of it all. But within the short length of the set you get bombarded with awesomeness. Trust me when I say this is a set you need to see, to fully understand what I'm saying. Here's the tracklist. And it's a good 'un! Intro Vertile - Change This Place Sefa - Calling (Adaro Remix) Vertile - The New Normal Vertile - Ain't Nobodi Vertile - Not My Affection (Kick/Live Edit) Endymion & The Viper feat FERAL Is KINKY - Raging In The Dancehall (Vertile Remix) D-Sturb - Guts To Dance Aversion & Unresolved - Darkside Rebelion - Echoes (Vertile Remix) Delete - Shut The Mind Up Rebelion & Deetox - Within Me (Overdose Remix) / Within Hell Sometimes you see livestreams and you think 'why am I watching this?'. Just a bloke with a DJ set on an ironing board, or in a hallway. With the most simplistic stroboscopes or any lights you can buy from your local supermarket. But this, ladies and gentlemen, is next level shit. And I'm not joking. This is hard as hell. A virtual overdose, that's what this is. And it's a wicked reminder of what the world used to be like. One thing we can look forward to: once we are allowed back outside, we can party hard, and if the productions have increased, our experiences will change. Forever. Thanks to Q-Dance for sharing this livestream, and getting me super hyped up for this. Maybe I wouldn't have seen this until a few months from now. It was literally by accident. And I'm seriously happy that it was shared with me. Without it I would be a tad more miserable than I currently am. And I wouldn't hear the dopest record I've heard in a long time. I jumped in at the right time, and throughout the set I was pleasantly surprised with the records Vertile had selected. One of the most amazing records has to be 'Echoes' by Rebelion, remixed by Vertile. This is such a bad ass track, and you get that awesome feeling. When that drop comes, you aren't ready for it, and it hits you so hard in your chest, you will have difficulties breathing. That track is fucking hard, really fucking hard. The set is only 28 minutes long, but within those 28 minutes Vertile takes you on a magical journey, and I'm happy I witnessed it. Epic is probably an understatement. A must see set, and after you've seen it, you will have to agree with me that this, ladies and gentlemen, is a boss set! • Ramos & Protocol - Helter Skelter Tribute Part 1 (13th February 2021)

It's Tuesday, my unofficial Happy Hardcore day. And today I've got a gorgeous mix for you all. One made by Ramos & Protocol, and all focussed on the mighty Helter Skelter events. You might have been to one, I sadly have never been to any of these legendary events. And when I say legendary, I do mean it. So many statuses on Facebook and Twitter, always mentioning Helter Skelter, more than you can imagine. So I'm familiar with the concept, but sadly never been. I wish I grew up in the UK and experienced it to the max. That would have been great! Now, I can only base my judgment on the information online, be it via Facebook, Twitter, or just videos of Helter Skelter on Youtube, but what I can gather, is that these events were the dogs bollocks. And they had wicked artists playing. Started back in 1989 (I was only 6 years old), they organised some of the most memorable events in UK rave history. And this mix you are about to listen to makes me miss the 90s even more, and being locked inside during COVID makes it even worst. Damn you world wide epidemic! I want to party again. So without further ado, let me talk about the mix that started this conversation about Helter Skelter. It's a mix by DJ Ramos and DJ Protocol, and it's a tribute mix. There could be more coming, seeing as this is part 1. Who knows how many instalments there could be? But I hope there are plenty more, I really enjoyed this trip back in time. And it's also a nice mix with a diverse tracklist: from UK to European Happy Hardcore. And that, ladies and gentlemen, makes me a very happy Dutchman. So, now it is time for you to see the tracklist, the thing you've been waiting for, and the thing that made me an extremely happy person. More of these mixes please, the more the merrier! Suburban Delay - Regenerator DJ Davie Forbes - Apocalypse Now Hyperact - My Best Friend Kinetic Pleasure - Higher The Scotchman - Happy Vibes Ramos, Supreme & Sunset Regime - Higher & Higher Billy Bunter & D-Zyne - Ride Like The Wind Ramos, Supreme & Sunset Regime - Life Force Generator II Bass Reaction - Technophobia Ramos, Supreme & Sunset Regime - Young Guns DJ Demand - Dark & Light Ramos, Supreme & Sunset Regime - Harmonize EKO - Renegade Rewind Paul Elstak - Luv U More (DJ Paul's Forze Mix) El Bruto - Let Yourself Go Rave Nation - Going Crazy (Forze DJ Team Mix) Billy Bunter & Austin Reynolds - New Sensation Billy Bunter & Sunset Regime - Clap To This DJ Invicible & N-Zo - Funky Sensation (Billy Bunter & JDS Remix) Ramos, Supreme & Sunset Regime - Let The Rhythm Unwind DJ Slam - Influence Hixxy & Sunset Regime - Technomancer Happymen - Love Is You (Stunned Guys Hardcore Mix) Critical Mass - Feel My Burning Love Diss Reaction - Jiieeehhaaaaa So, this mix. I have to say that Ramos and Protocol have selected a nice bunch of records. So good, really 90s vibes coming through my speakers as we speak. Again, I've not been to Helter Skelter, but I can imagine how cool it must have been to have heard these anthems coming through the speakers. It makes me miss raving even more, and I do miss the 90s sound so much, I wish I could go back in time, and relive the 90s again. And this time please let me be old enough in 1990, so I can rave for a whole decade, please? The mix? Is tight. Really tight. I really love the selection of tracks. All very cheerful and happy, and to end with Diss Reaction's track, just the creme de la creme, as the French would say. A bit of the European Happy Hardcore, combined with the UK records, creates this magical mix, which will leave you intoxicated. You don't know what has happened to you: you feel like you are back in 1996 again! Only love and appreciation for this mix. A wonderful mix, with some serious dancefloor smashers. If this doesn't take you back into the 90s, nothing will. Ramos and Protocol's mix is just exactly what I needed to hear today. A very spot on mix. Bring back the 90s, baby! Best record of this mix? Sorry, it has to be Davie Forbes' 'Apocalypse Now'. A tune that haunted me since the first time I heard it, and it is still haunting me. In a good way of course. Get this down you right now! • Audiotricz | The Sound of Hardstyle @ Studio Shelter (2020)

It's another day in paradise! Today I've got a mix for you all, which you might have missed, when it was released back in 2020, but it's never too late to catch up on things you've missed. And truth be told, I only stumbled across this mix by accident, because I was looking for another mix which contained one of the dopest tracks for me at the moment. I listened to the Art Of Creation year mix of 2020 and a few records grabbed my attention. Those records were made by Audiotricz. It is weird to say, but even though I love Hardstyle, I'm not up to date with names and who's who in the scene. Maybe it's laziness, but what I do makes more sense to me: the music speaks for itself, and whoever made it will become known the second I stop listening, and become more interested. Audiotricz is such a name that became more interesting to me after hearing the year mix. I wanted to find a mix with a few more of their records, and this liveset is definitely one that contains a shit load of their anthems. Obviously I am a picky person, and even with Hardstyle I like my music a specific way. Some artists do disappoint me, not because of their production skills, but the fact that their music doesn't speak to me. It doesn't grab me as much as other artists do. And as I'm not 100% up to date, I thought I'd hear more of Audiotricz. And this mix certainly provides me with all answers to unanswered questions I had. It's an hour long. And it's got guitars. Not sure how I feel about that, but keep on reading to find out my opinion, if you are that fussed. But for those who are here only for the tracklist, here it is: Audiotricz & Ecstatic feat MERYLL - You Demi Kanon - Closer Audiotricz feat Michael Jo - Skywards Bass Modulators & Max Enforcer - Our Soul Audiotricz & TNT - Ghettoblaster (Edit) Toneshifterz & Audiotricz - Put Your Hands Together Former Hero - Changing Tense (Next Chapter Edit) Demi Kanon - Supersonic Fabian Mazur & NXSTY - When I Drop This (Audiotricz Edit) Bass Modulators - Let Me See Ya (Noisecontrollers Remix) Audiotricz & E-LIfe - Supersonic D-Block & S-te-Fan & DJ Isaac - Harder State Of Mind Audiotricz - Let There Be Light (Code Black Remix) Audiotricz - Shamed Audiotricz & Villain - World Is Mine Audiotricz & Atmosfearz - What About Us (Next Chapter Edit) Ghost Stories - The Enemy (You Cannot See) Atmozfears & Audiotricz feat MC DL - Way Of The Wicked Audiotricz & Demi Kanon - Renegade Bon Jovi - You Give Love A Bad Name (Audiotricz Edit) Audiotricz & E-Life - Different Noisecontrollers - Spirit Of Hardstyle (NCBM Remix) Audiotricz - VIII Audiotricz & Bass Modulators - Thriller Knife Party - Boss Mode (Audiotricz Edit) You might have looked at this tracklist and thought 'Do I really see Bon Jovi in there?'. Your eyes are correct and not misleading, you do see Bon Jovi on the tracklist. And yes, as mentioned before, there's also a few guitar bits in here. Don't get me wrong, don't assume that this is a rock mix! This is a full on Hardstyle mix, with guitar bits thrown in, as added bonus. Let's get one thing straight, I have got no hatred towards guitars, but they are not my cup of tea. The wife has got a guitar, and within a few days, I already broke a few strings on her guitar. By accident I must add, but still. Never passionate about any guitar related, and never a fan of it being in the harder styles scene. Sometimes it does work, I'll give you credit for that, but it's not my favourite musical item. All the negatives out of the way, let's talk about the positives. Audiotricz's set contains a lot of their own stuff, which gives us an insight into their production skills and capabilities. And it's a good introduction into their world, if you are not familiar with what they do. A few of their records have already gained my attention, and thankfully I can find them in this mix. This mix contains some fucking epic anthems, and they pave the way for a bright future for Audiotricz. Their name will be among the finest names in the scene for years to come. They just capture the sound and the scene so beautifully. And I love the fact that it's so damn euphoric. You all know I love a bit of euphoria in my music. Soppy old git I am, eh? The best tracks? Pfew, that's difficult. There are a few hard hitters in this mix, like Demi Kanon's 'Closer', 'Skywards' by Audiotricz, 'Different' and 'Let There Be Light', but the winner (if you can call it that) is 'Supersonic'. And with them playing the guitar it gives this record another level, a depth previously not heard. But I still prefer the non guitar version though. But it is cool that they do think outside of the box. Be different. We are different. A wicked set. Still need to get used to guitars and Hardstyle, but one day I might fully like it, and adapt my music collection and buy everything guitarry Hardstyle related. But until then, I might damage another guitar, if that's OK with you all? • Thunderdome - Lacerated By The Maw Of Destruction (2019)

This isn't the first time I've come across a fan made Thunderdome compilation, but it's certainly one which grabbed my attention. The cover art is just so damn splendid! Have you actually seen it? Just look at it. Don't know if the name is suitable, but it's still quite demonic, and rather cool. Just as the albums used to be, the same art style. And I freaking love it. You do see the occasional fan based albums, but none had such a wicked design! I really love it, no word of a lie. Obviousy the main question is, does it do the Thunderdome compilation any justice? Should this have been part of the successful series released by ID&T? Well, that's up to you to decide, isn't it? But you have to agree that the cover is just so damn beautiful, as demonic as it might look. But you are interested in the music. Is it Thunderdome worthy? What to expect? So, without any further ado, let's just jump straight into the tracklist, and the tracklist is one you need to look at. I'm not 100% sure if this would be in line with the Thunderdome compilation, but hey ho, who am I? Only a handful of artist which initially appeared on the compilations can be found on this, but what about those other ones? Are they any good? Let's see. Here's the tracklist for this fan made Thunderdome compilation. DeFusion - Power Of The Dark Side DJ Ruffneck - 20 Bullits To Comply DJ Jordens - Temptated ll You Da Beatblower - Fuck Your S Off (Scott Brown Remix) Painbringer - Inner War Delta Nine - Do You Want It Q-Tex vs Technosis - Hardcore Science Freakin Fonz - Come And Get Busy On A Tempo Frank-E & Mars-L - Bust The Beat Interior - Into The Pit Short Circuit - Get A Little Deeper Re-Charge - The Dynamo DJ Arjuna - Let The Music Flow (Original Mix) DJ Zany - Fuckin' Problems Q-Tex - Get On The Floor DJ Mike Oh'Man - Dance To E.H.U. (Ruff Mix) Pandemonium - Welcome To Hell Old School Terrorists - Number 4 Sigma 909 - KNOR Mad Shocker - Hardcore Butcher You might look at the list and think 'this doesn't look much like a Thunderdome CD', and you have got a point. But it's not just the list that makes a Thunderdome album, it's the whole package. And is it any good, is it worthy to be called a decent fan album? The fan behind this is DJ Ad, and he's done a marvellous job of keeping not only the name alive, but also keeping the hype surrounding the actual album series alive. They did leave the whole wicked album cover behind and went for quite a bland approach. And you might like or dislike it. For me the album covers were one of the reasons why I did buy the albums. I was and still am in awe of the designer. And this fan album certainly fits in there. But the music. The music. Yes. Now, I'm not an expert, and if you know the answer, please fill me in, but it looks to me that the CD contains both old and new anthems. Maybe records which were released on B-sides? Whatever they are, they are certainly Hardcore anthems. Are they any good? Yes. I do like the sound DJ Ad went for, when composing this fan album. So generic 90s, so generic old school. I do like this album a lot, and wish it was reality. Well, at least it's on Youtube for all of us to see and hear, eh? So many anthems on here, which makes my underpants moist. I cannot choose one out of these 20 records. I really really like each and every one of them. A wicked fan made album. More of these please! • Bass-D - Live @ Decibel 2014

What do you get when a certain Dutch person is full on Hardcore mode? You get me searching Soundcloud for excellent 90s Hardcore mixes. And on this Sunday morning I found a liveset by the legendary Bass-D, which was recorded at Decibel back in 2014. And boy oh boy, does this contain wicked Hardcore anthems. From those well known Gabber tunes to the Happy Hardcore anthems that got us dancing so damn hard: everything is in here. Leave that up to Bass-D to fabricate a wicked set. The tracklist will make you cheer and make you feel euphoric. And sad at the same time. Sad, you might be wondering why sad? Well, that's because the 90s are now way behind us, and this wicked sound sadly has disappeared from the scene. Some still keep it alive, but the majority of producers have moved on. The 90s were so glorious, music wise. It is sad, but we can still say that we lived throughout a decade of awesome music, right? We were there, and we did spend a lot of money on CDs, cassettes, and vinyl. Or even DAT tapes, right? Money was spent, and we lived for the next compilation to be released. We were eager for more Hardcore. Bass-D was one of those producers who had a huge impact on the scene. Alongside his partner in crime, King Matthew, they made some excellent Hardcore anthems. Some very memorable anthems, and some extremely cheesy. But you still know each and every one of them. And to have him play at Decibel, you know it makes sense. I do wish I was there, I would have had a whale of a time. Hearing these classics coming through the speakers, unbelievable. And Bass-D being Bass-D, the turntable master, he played 31 records in an hour. No fucking about, just pure Hardcore. So which records did he use to get the people at Decibel excited? Here's the list: Bass-D & King Matthew - In The Mix Nasty Django - Hardcore Mothafucka (Shit's Psychosex Remix) Buzz Fuzz - Dreamgirl El Bruto - Hypnotizing Space Seed - Devastation Masoko Solo - Pessa Pessa (Buzzy Goes BZRK Remix) The Masochist - No New Style Reyes - Rock With Me Public Domain - In The House (Buzzy Goes BZRK Remix) Bass-D & King Matthew feat XD - Like A Dream Square Dimensione - Baddest Muthafucka Isaac & Pagan - 2 Definitions Billy The Kid - Clappin' Your Hands Omar Santana - Come On Buzz Fuzz - Frequencies Vanugenth The 5th - Here We Go Again Isaac - Rock This Shit The Lawyer - Yo DJ Hixxy & MC Sharkey - Toy Town 4 Tune Fairytales - My Little Fantasy (Bass-D & King Matthew Remix) Buzz Fuzz - Destroyer Ferocious - Cocaine Party Animals - Used & Abused (Amnesia Mix) Paul Elstak - Rockin' Beats The Prophet - Allright Now Here We Go Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo - DJ Fuck Highlander - Hold Me Now '97 Promo - Cold As Stone 50% Of The Dreamteam - B With U Riot Squad - Nonshlen Tustokken (Gizmo Remix) Distortion & MC Raw vs Bass-D & King Matthew - Raveworld He has picked some heavy hitters for this set. If you were alive during the 90s, and you don't know any of these anthems, are you even a gabber/raver? Come on man, Bass-D picked the biggest anthems from the scene. You cannot sit still during this set. Well, I certainly couldn't sit still. Obviously a few of these records are guilty pleasure songs. Who remembers hearing those Madonna vocals with the Hardcore beat? Or 'Cold As Stone' by DJ Promo? Or even the song by Riot Squad, with the most ridiculous title ever. I think it was based on a Dutch phrase or sentence, but to this day I've got no fucking idea what it should be. And I'm freaking Dutch! It is an epic mix, with a wide variety of Hardcore anthems. Some Happy and some harder anthems. Everything is in here, to get all nostalgic about. Again, you had to live through the 90s to really experience the importance of these records. These tracks dominated our lives, and with this set, Bass-D really capture my life throughout the 90s. I do miss it though. No word of a lie. I do miss certain sounds by artists such as Buzz Fuzz, Highlander, Square Dimensione, The Dreamteam, and more. Time has flown by too darn quickly, but thankfully these sets keep the memories alive and kicking. A wonderful set. And to finish with 'Raveworld'. Pff. Such a wicked track to end your set with. What a magical collaboration that was. Distortion, MC Raw, Bass-D, and King Matthew. Fuck, I miss the 90s. • Dutch Hardcore Anthems Mix (2021)

I don't know what's wrong with me, but lately I've been listening to a lot of mid 90s Hardcore/Happy Hardcore, and I'm feeling those tunes again. I am full on Hardcore mode right now. Yes, sometimes I do listen to other styles, but the majority of my time is spent listening to Hardcore from the glorious 90s. To those who experienced the sound, they all agree that the music was so much better then, than it is now. I think there's a nostalgic factor coming into play here. We grew up with it, and how could we turn out backs to the sound that made us who we are? So the mix you are about to listen to is focussed on the Dutch Hardcore sound. And you might disagree with my opinion, but they are mainly Happy Hardcore anthems. Come on, even during the 90s we knew the difference between Happy and normal Hardcore. Yes, some of the happier anthems did appear on the harder Hardcore compilations, but I would say that most of these records mixed by AW Music Factory are Happy Hardcore anthems. And that is fucking awesome! I mentioned this in an earlier review, I do prefer the happier sound over the regular Hardcore sound. Maybe it's because of the fact that I'm a cheerful bloke, who knows. I do like myself some rough Hardcore from time to time, but not always. I much prefer to hear Happy and smile from ear to ear. And the AW Music Factory has created a cheese fest of a mix, and the tracklist will make you feel a tad guilty, that you are about to listen to this. But it's OK, no one is going to shame you. The tracks. I don't know if you are ready, but here they come: Bodylotion - Always Hardcore DJ Isaac - Bad Dreams Profound - Let Da Music Play DJ E-rick & Tactic - Bring The Noise 4 Tune Fairytales - My Little Fantasy (Bass-D & King Matthew Remix) Critical Mass - Burning Love (DJ Weirdo & DJ Sim 173.683 Remix) Highlander - Everytime (Hardcore Mix) Bass-D & King Matthew feat XD - Like A Dream DJ Weirdo & DJ Sim - Go Get Busy (Extended Rave Version) Happymen - Love Is You (The Stunned Guys Hardcore Mix) DJ Weirdo & Dr. Phil Omanski - Young Birds Chronotrigger - Mammamia The Prophet - Big Boys Don't Cry (Original Mix) Bertocucci Feranzano - XTC Love Micado - It's Gonna Be A Fine Night Damage Inc. - Turn Around Lovechild - All Out Of Love DJ Buzz Fuzz vs Bass-D & King Matthew - It's Alright Those were the anthems. And who remembers the labels these were released on, like Pengo, ID&T, Babyboom, BZRK, and more. Those were the golden years for me, personally. I can still remember most of these records, and know exactly how the song goes. This led up to me quickly going to establish if AW Music Factory used the normal versions or different remixed versions. A few of the titles were adjusted accordingly. There's so many memories linked to these records. And I'm guessing, seeing as you are reading this, you must have a lot of good memories too. And one of the things I hate about hearing these records again, is that no one gives this the credit it should deserve. What happened to this sound, what happened to these acts/producers, like 4 Tune Fairytales, DJ Sim, Dr. Phil Omanski, Highlander, Profound, and more. Time does fly by too damn fucking quick, doesn't it? A nice trip down memory lane. Cheesy? Check. But memorable anthems? Check. Which records makes me miss the 90s the most? Well, it has to be 4 Tune Fairytales' 'My Little Fantasy', remixed by Bass-D & King Matthew. What a fucking epic and underrated classic. This gets me going, no matter what is happening. I hear these oh so familiar chords, and I'm off. Gone mate. A nice selection by AW Music Factory. One record was a tad too cheesy for me, and that's 'Mammamia' by Chronotrigger. Not my cup of tea. And some cross fading errors. But all in all a good and pleasant mix to hear on a Saturday night. 90s, here we come! • Joey Riot [UK] - Live @ Rinsed 15th Bday (2018)

New Zealand. A country I would like to visit one day, but that day might not happen any day soon, especially with the current climate. Well, they are back to 'normality' as such, and we are not. They might have handled COVID slightly better than us. I thought I saw a video of people partying in New Zealand, and I'm jealous of that. But one other thing I've only learned recently, is the fact that they do have UK Hardcore parties. New Zealand sounds even more appealing now. They started throwing parties in NZ back in 2003, and have had a lot of big names playing at their events, such as Brisk, Kevin Energy, Sharkey, Slipmatt, Al Storm, Luna-C, CLSM, S3RL, and many more. And they decided to go all out for their 15th birthday party, and got Joey Riot playing there. And you can tell Joey had a wonderful time, if you look at the picture above. He's about to demolish the crowd, and get them all hyped up for the 2 hours he's playing. But Joey wouldn't be Joey if he not only played a few UK Happy Hardcore anthems, but also a shit ton of Hardstyle and. Gabber tunes. They must have had a wicked time there. 2 hours of Joey. Pff, I am jealous. The last time I saw him play was in Birmingham, at Uproar, if I'm not mistaken. And that's a bloody long time ago. So, you are probably curious what he did play in NZ, to get them all go crazy for the riot, eh? Here's the tracklist: The Mob vs Brennan Heart & Galactixx - Partyfreak vs RIOT Coone - Never Alone Pegboard Nerds - Just Dance DNA - Even More Advanced Hardstyle (Mashup) Coone & TNT feat Technotronic - Pump Up The Jam Sunset Bros x Mark McCabe - I'm Feeling It (In The Air) (Code Black Remix) Bass Modulators & Max Enforcer - Our Soul Hardwell & Timmy Trumpet - The Underground Joey Riot & Elov8 - Don't Wanna Fall In Love Arkangel - Hate You So Much Kutski - Got The Feeling Hard Driver - DOPE Da Tweekaz - Tequila (Minus The Crown Remix) Darren Styles - Switch Fox Stevenson - Miss You (Macks Wolf Remix) Joey Riot vs Johnny G - Music Has Evolved Tweekacore & Darren Styles - Partystarter Macks Wolf - Getting Higher Gammer - The Drop (Darren Styles Remix) Minus The Crown - The Roof Is On Fire Macks Wolf - Hit 'Em Like This Gammer & Joey Riot - Coming Up Strong Technikore & Weaver feat Lokkavox - Find You Now Klubfiller - Ain't No Stopping Us Now SPYRO - Outta Space Sigma feat Birdy - Find Me (Joey Riot Remix) Prime Time Players - Don't Know How To Make You Happy Darren Styles, Dougal & Weaver - Hold On For Your Life Joey Riot & Darren Grant - Master Plan Ran-D - Zombie (Gammer Flip) Darren Styles, Dougal & Gammer - Party Don't Stop Da Tweekaz - Wodka (Destructive Tendencies Remix) Destructive Tendencies & The Melodyst - We Need Justice Destructive Tendencies & Evil Activities feat E-Life - Death By Stereo Destructive Tendencies - Beyond The Lights Destructive Tendencies & Nolz feat Pianair - Release This Beast (Restrained Remix) Deadly Guns x Destructive Tendencies feat Sovereign King - Armageddon Destructive Tendencies & Bulletproof - Night Must Fall Destructive Tendencies & Angerfist - Fortress Of Solitude (Destruction Mix) Destructive Tendencies & Rooler - Can't Stop Us Now Destructive Tendencies - We Will Rock You Re-Style - Get It Crackin' (Sefa Remix) Destructive Tendencies & Warface - Release The Kraken (Sefa Remix) Destructive Tendencies & Partyraiser - Sound Becomes Two You don't need to be an expert to tell when Joey decided to step it slightly up, and the BPMs went up. It's from the first Destructive Tendencies track (if you didn't know it already). Joey ditched his UK Hardcore alter ego, and went full Destructive Tendencies mode. And when that happened, I guess the dancefloor became very dangerous. A lot of feet moving faster, a lot of fists going in the air, and vigorous movements. And if I'm honest, I do like that a bit more. During this mix you have to make a decision: do I like the Joey Riot side, or the Destructive Tendencies side, or both? I like them both. Especially the early Joey Riot sound, that's just ace. But his DT project has always been interesting, and they've made some excellent records with some hard hitters from the Hardcore scene, like Angerfist, Bulletproof, Rooler, Warfare, and many more. I can imagine Joey being a very busy boy, with both sides demanding his attention. During this set he starts off slowly, and halfway through he decides to crank up the music. I do like the UK Hardcore bit, but not all records are my favourite. Not a fan of Da Tweekaz, and a lot of fans hate me for that. But their music just doesn't appeal to me. Nor does 'Zombie' by Ran-D. Didn't like the original, don't like the remix. But is it all meh, or not? Nope. I would say that 90% of the music is great, but the harder always gets my attention even more. So, in this instance, I would have to pick two favourite records, one from the lighter side and one from the darker side. So my favourite on the lighter side has to be 'Getting Higher' by Macks Wolf, and the darker side anthem has to be 'Night Must Fall' by DT and Rooler. A wonderful set. Really takes me back to the Uproar days. But it has made me determined to look into going to NZ for not just partying, but also to see the country. Partying there would be an added bonus which I would appreciate. If you want 2 hours of pure and sheer madness, check this out! • FACT Mix 250: 2 Bad Mice (2011)

The year is 2011. It was 9 years before the current pandemic occurred, and we didn't face a new world happening. We were happy, excited, and we were treated to one of the finest mixes by the best and biggest Oldskool group of all time: 2 Bad Mice. Well, I do think it was 2011, but I could be completely wrong. If you remember which year it was, please do leave a comment below, I would appreciate it. But it's an 'oldie' . I sadly can't find the mix online anymore on FACTs Soundcloud page, only on Rhodesy's Soundcloud page. In this mix you will find the finest tunes from 1991 until 1994, and if you do know 2 Bad Mice, you know you will get the finest anthems from those years. Obviously they had to add their own anthem in here, which is without a doubt 'Bombscare', but you will see in the tracklist below that they have selected 16 amazing rave classics, and mixed them together rather nicely. I did interview 2 Bad Mice before, which wasn't my masterpiece. Still feel a tad ashamed that I was that noob, asking silly questions, not professional at all. Maybe as a mark of respect to 2 Bad Mice, I decided to share this mix with you all again. I must have reviewed this in the past before, I reckon? I did find this mix by accident. I was listening to Slipmatt's old live sessions, and heard old Rhodesy giving us amazing facts. This made me hunt for mixes on his Soundcloud page, which led me to this mix. I did forget about this mix, but I have to say that I have listened to this so many times before, it is still one of my most favourite mixes of all time. And I'm not kidding. Their selection of anthems is great, and all mixed together flawlessly. Here's the tracklist for you all, if you haven't seen it already. Underkut - Both Ends Da Juice - Hear The Angels Walters & Allen - On De Ball 2 Bad Mice - Bombscare Kicks Like A Mule - The Bouncer Code 071 - A London Sumtin The Sorcerer - Odyssey MC Jay J & DJ Devious D - Time Of Our Lives Kaotic Chemistry - Space Cakes Chemical Company - Define The Beat M17 - Rockin' Down The House DJ Phantasy & DJ Seduction - DJs Unite Edge 1 - Compounded DJ Tim & DJ Misjah - Access (Rhodesy VIP) Urban Hype - Trip (Remix) Phuture Assassins - Future Sound (2 Bad Mice Remix) This is really a good looking tracklist, with some amazing rave classics. When we go back to raving in the outside world, we are sure to hear these anthems fly by at least once, at every rave event. Come on, like you don't like 'The Bouncer', or even 2 Bad Mice's biggest ever hit 'Bombscare'. Are you even a raver mate? Their mix is flawless, and excellent. I really enjoy hearing this mix again after a few years, and it still makes me dance hard and fast, and makes me want to be out raving. Not indoors, in my bloody house, but at a festival. You cannot beat hearing these anthems coming at you from massive speakers. Is this the finest mix of all time? It is certainly up there, among the greatest mixes of all time. It's not too damn fast, it's not too rough around the edges, it's just picture perfect. It ticks all the boxes, if you are a raver. And it's a diverse mix too. Not playing the same old classics, but more the underground stuff. Really nice to hear the underrated anthems again. We need to hear more of these anthems. Not just the top 40 bangers, but the underground anthems, those you would mostly hear in underground clubs. I really find this mix superb. Only love and appreciation for 2 Bad Mice. And which record is the best? The first one, by Underkut. It just sets the tone. A brilliant opening record. Check this mix out, and let it dominate your weekend! Come on, let's 'ave it! • Tenchy - Now That's What I Call Happy Hardcore Classics Mix! (2015)

It is Wednesday, and the week half already been halved. Which is obviously a good thing, seeing as time does not fly by that fast. I am looking forward to the day where we are allowed outside again, without any masks or hand sanitiser ever again. That might not happen, so that might put a downer on you. Have I got the perfect mix for you?! A Happy Hardcore mix, how about that? And don't say 'ain't nobody got time for that'. Everybody should make time for Happy Hardcore. Today I was feeling a bit happy, so I needed the cheesy 90s sound again. And thanks to Tenchy my life is complete now. It isn't complete per se, but really close. And sometimes you just need to let your happy side come out, especially during COVID-19. We need to smile more often. So I went on my trusted site Soundcloud, and found a mix that I've not checked before. First play earlier today, and it made me smile from ear to ear. Smiles for miles. But what's so special about this mix? Well, multiple things. One of the things that makes me smile, is the fact that this takes me back to my childhood. This is exactly the kind of music that I grew up with. Little Martin was always happy when he listened to this genre. Obviously Gabber and normal Hardcore were my thing too, but Happy Hardcore always had a special place in my heart. So special, that sometimes I prefer it over anything else. Yes, you read that right. So, the tracklist. If you listened to both European and UK Happy Hardcore, you will be so happy. You will say thank you to me for sharing this with you. And for once, I am grateful that there are others out there who enjoy the cheesiest Hardcore known to man. Ready for the tracklist? 4 Tune Fairytales - My Little Fantasy (Extended Version) DJ Magical - Rush Hour (Original Mix 96) DJ Demand - Jumpin Pumpin Dune - Can't Stop Raving (12 Inch Mix) Triple J - Have It All (Panoramic Mix) Triple J - Follow The Sun Force & Styles feat Jenna - Heart Of Gold (Exclusive Album Mix) DJ Demo - Your Mine (Slipmatt Remix) 2 Without Heads - U & Me (Scott Brown Remix) Seb - Rainbow Islands (MC Sharkey's Bonkers Mix) 4 Tune Fairytales - Take Me 2 Wonderland (X-Tended Mix) Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo - Wonderfull Days (Trance Mix) Highlander - Hold Me Now (Bass-D & King Matthew Remix) Dr. Who - Love Of My Life Alchemist & Fade - Keep On Trying (Slipmatt Remix) Bang! - Cloudy Daze (Ham Mix) Euphony - Space Invader (Scott Brown Remix) Q-Tex - Power Of Love 97 (Digital Boy Italian Rave Remix) Sonicdriver - In Your Arms Tonight Sonicdriver & Stingray - As Cold As Ice (El Bruto Remix) DJ Ham, DJ Demo & Justin Time feat Becks - Here I Am Force & Styles feat Jenna - Shining Down (Slipmatt Mix) Eruption - Let The Music DJ Paul Elstak - Luv U More (K & A's Extended Blast) DJ Paul Elstak - Rainbow In The Sky (K & A's Extended Blast) Nakatomi - Free (Live At The Tokyodome) DJ Vibes & Wishdokta - Rave Is A Mystery Rave Nation - Going Crazy (Forze DJ Team Mix) Demoniac - One Two DJ Demand - Dark And Light DJ Weirdo & DJ Sim - Go Get Busy (Hardcore Edit) Scott Brown vs DJ Rab S - Now Is The Time The Scotchman - Happy Vibes Bass X - Hardcore Disco Part II Ultimate Buzz - Check Da Bass (Scott Brown Remix) Diss Reaction - Jiieehaaa Tiny Tot - Discoland (Raveland Mix) Yes yes yes! Hell to the yes. This is what I needed today. A bit of cheese fest. More of this please. We had such a good genre back in the 90s. So underrated and sadly not respected as much as it should be. My God, the music was so damn good, it still gives me goosebumps, and gets me all hyped up. I was sadly too young when the clubs and raves were all happening, and when I was old enough, it had died a harsh death. So yeah, even though I did experience it throughout the 90s, I've never been to a proper oldskool Happy Hardcore rave. And I kind of hate myself for missing out on this. I can only imagine it being the happiest place on Earth. Tenchy made a really cool mix, with really a lot of excellent Happy Hardcore anthems. I love the fact that he used both British and European anthems. Most mixes are just focussed on one or the other, but only a handful of these mixes are focussed on both. It's really nice, and it should give people from all over the world a taste of what we used to rave to. Seriously, so many wicked anthems. From the cheesiest stuff to the ones that were more focussed on the harder side of Happy Hardcore. This mix has got it all, including the more mainstream Happy Hardcore anthems by Paul Elstak. I love me a bit of mainstream, but the best of the best in this mix has to be Eruption's 'Let The Music'. It is in my top 10 all time favourite Happy Hardcore records. I wish this mix had JDS's 'Higher Love' in it, especially the Slipmatt remix. That's my all time favourite one. A very good mix, a few mixing errors/cross fading errors, but still highly enjoyable. Don't let the pandemic bring you down, let this mix take you to another level. A higher level, another dimension. Be happy! Enjoy it! • Chekma x FatKidOnFire Mix (2021)

A few months ago I got a new car. And you might be wondering what the hell it's got to do with this mix? Well, I'll get there, bear with me. So I went from a Vauxhall to a Lexus, and as happy as I was with the Corsa, the CT200h is in a different league. And the first thing I do, as a music lover, is to see what the speakers are capable of. For that you need a banging mix, A mix so tough and rough, you wished the journey never ended, and you could stay in your car for the rest of your life. This is such a mix. From the first to the last second the music is banging. And when I played it at level 30, the bass nearly made me ejaculate! Seriously, I sat there in my car, like a teenager, with a huge smile on my face. You cannot see it, but I remember it vividly. It happened, and I cruised the M25 with a grin on my face. I was so happy. Not just because the mix was dope, but the speakers in the Lexus were made for this kind of music. Dubstep/Grime anyone? Buy a Lexus. Now that's a top tip. Obviously this is not a promotion review for the car, but for the mix. And it's yet another banging mix by FatKidOnFire, and this time it's made by Russian DJ Chekma. And their fascinating Diversity In Dubstep concept, it is really important in the present day to give everyone the same stage, no matter which gender or sexuality or religion. Music should unite us, not divide us. And with Dubstep they have picked a good scene to show equality. Don't know many female Dubstep DJs, but thanks to FatKidOnFire I know a few now, and Chekma has really really impressed me with this dark Dubstep mix. So, who wants to see the tracklist, if you haven't already? Here it is: Inyoka - Program VIP Biome - Dislocate Ninety - Snake Kiss VIP (Dub) Biome, Cartridge & Lampa - Gyroscope Benga & Skream - Judgement Biome - Unity Jrun - Wicked Dub The Widdler - This Generation Abomnabi - Vision Dubamine - Soundsystem Goth-Trad - Sunbeam Biome - Muppets Zygos - Sick As A Dog Mystic State - Mahdi Mala - Miracles (Commodo Remix) Skream - Metal Mouth Mr. K. - IP13 VIP Mix Ninety - Movement (Dub) Helktram - Mineral Trends & Boylan - Kruger Atom Dubs - Future INI Hebbe - Galata So, this happened. I am now sitting indoors, and I am hating my speakers. They aren't as good as the car's speakers. I need the bass to come at me, and bite me hard. I need to feel the music. I might just go sit in the car for 55 minutes, play this mix, and drain the battery. Why not? Dubstep is not to be played at a low level, you need to crank the volume way up. As high as your speakers can handle it. I really enjoyed Chekma's mix. Really dope, tight, and very carefully mixed together. Top notch mix, if I'm honest. From the first time I heard this mix until now, every single time I have enjoyed listening to it. And hopefully FatKidOnFire keeps on this Diversity In Dubstep concept going, I really enjoy it. I've got only love and appreciation for this mix. Nothing wrong, just what I needed to hear. Make sure you check out Chekma and FatKidOnFire, if you love your Dubstep and Grime. And go check out Chekma's interview for FatKidOnFire, really good read. A wonderful mix which could only get the highest score, and for good reasons: DJ: Chekma Genre/Style: Dubstep, Grime Mix Info: Chekma x FatKidOnFire mix Length Mix: 00:55:43 Tracks: 22 (twenty-two) Download/Listen (via Soundcloud): LISTEN HERE File Size: unknown File Type: unknown Release Year: 2020 Audio: Stereo Sample Rate: unknown More Information: FatKidOnFire - Soundcloud Page

  • Freeform Sessions Vol.2: Stamina Records Special (Mixed By Absolut Chaos) (2021)

It is Friday, and the weekend is just about to start. About a year ago that would mean that people would shake off the week's stress and other burdens that they had to face, and they would get ready to party. That was early 2020. It is 2021 right now, as we all know, and we are stuck at home. Stuck at home, glued to our screens. And we certainly can't wait to go out and absorb the atmosphere at a rave again. But until then, whenever that might be, we have to do with whatever is presented to us on social media. Thankfully I found a mix you will all enjoy! You can clearly see the colour pattern in the image above, and if you are a Freeform fanatic, you know immediately that it's a Stamina Records mix. Or it's something that is related to Stamina Records. The Yin Yang sign does come through the screen at you, so you know you are going to be in for something very special, and yes, this mix is special. It's a freaking fan mix. And the label is obviously Stamina Records. That, in itself, is already awesome. But what makes it even better, is the fact that it is filled with tracks I've not heard before. Obviously not all of these are unknown to me, but a handful are. And the DJ behind this? Absolut Chaos! Don't know much about him, but let's talk about the music. That's why you are here, right? The music was released on Stamina Records, Freeform's finest label, run by A.B, who has a knack on spotting talent, and releasing fantastic music. So you won't be surprised that the tracklist will look good, right? Well, as mentioned before, I know most records. Please forgive me, COVID has had an effect on me too. I've not had the time to watch livestreams and follow everything constantly. Work work work, it never stops. But now it does. I'm putting my foot down. So, here's the tracklist. Kindly provided on Youtube, so here we go: A.B vs K-Wire - Ignition Mooney & Ollie-S - Turn It Up Substanced - Juggernaut A.B vs Synthwulf - Genre This (Ales Remix) The Rookie - Rezerekrion The Rookie - Oblivion A.B vs Dani Delirio - Arkwsus Tamerax - Rise A.B vs K-Wire - Twisted (Kounta Kulture Remix) Lost Faith & Spectrum - Orbital Descent Digital Commandos - War Of The Machines jD-KiD & Arun presents Stardust - Gaia S3RL & Synthwulf - Everybody Wants To Be A DJ A.B & Bungal - Let Go CLSM - Gravity Wave Lost Soul - Crazy Light A.B - This/Carburettor (Joey Riot Mashup) Kounta Kulture - Falling Skies Rikkie Arkitech & Cyrax - Destroyer Of Worlds A.B - Escapia Transcend & Douglas - Massenya (A.B's Hardcore Remix) The tracklist looks good, but how about the music? Well, we can be honest to each other, and say that we don't expect any of these records to be crap, right? It's Stamina Records, for God's sake. You know you will get the best of the best, some proper belters have been released on this label. I can only give credit to Absolut Chaos for making this mix. It does contain however one of the most 'meh' records. Not a fan of S3RL, and I've tried to like his music. Sorry S3RL, not a fan. But let's talk about what's good about this mix? Well, all the other 20 records. And do you want to hear something funny? The one record I truly love and adore the most, isn't even a Freeform record! Well, the original is, but not this remix. It's obviously 'Massenya', remixed by A.B. He gave it the Hardcore treatment, and it has worked wonders. I really really really love this record. It's the best of the 21 records in this mix. Fight me if you think I'm wrong. A good mix. Really enjoyed it. And I'm guessing it's my first Freeform mix of 2021, so that's always a bonus. Go hop onto Youtube and enjoy! • ATTLAS - Out Here With You (2020)

A couple of weeks ago I discovered yet another wicked ATTLAS mix, and this time it was for his then to be released album 'Out There With You'. According to the internet this was his second album of 2020. Now I'm completely new to the wonderful world of streams etc, and the first thing I tried to do, was to see if I could get a physical copy. Now it could just simply be me, but that was impossible. Couldn't find it anywhere, and it left me a bit distraught. Saddened. Upset. But there's always a positive side to everything: I have got a streaming service!! And the streaming service is Amazon Music. That's the only account I've got, which I've never ever used before. Don't have any other accounts, couldn't keep up with all the latest changes in the music industry. But once I clicked on the link underneath the mix ATTLAS made a few weeks ago, it took me to this general page, and one of the pages it would take you to, was Amazon Music. And voila, even though I did not have a physical copy, I did have the opportunity to listen to this album whenever, and that's a bonus. Certainly when I grew up I had a few artists who I was a fan of, but they have disappeared off the face of the Earth. 2Unlimited, Snap!, Close2You, etc. All pop artists/bands/duos. I grew out of it, and wanted Dance music. In the early years of Dance music it was Tiesto who I was a fan of, but when he changed to EDM, I lost interest. Sied van Riel was the next artist who I adored, and when I discovered ATTLAS, he became my prime focus. A day does not go by without me playing at least one mix or song by ATTLAS. Am I a fan boy? Don't know the ins- and outs of this man, but for me that doesn't matter. The music is inspirational. Heavenly. Moving. Touching. And emotional. So what is so damn interesting about this album? Or what's so interesting about ATTLAS? Well, firstly, his usage of movie samples in his mixes. That just grabbed me immediately. Not heard that before to such an extent. And he makes it all sound flawless. And secondly, the music. As previously mentioned it is minimalistic, but as minimalistic as it seems, it does have deeper layers that you just can't describe in words, only in feelings. I love his approach to Dance music. I've listened to his mixes over and over again, and on Soundcloud they do top my yearly list, as in Most Played Songs on Soundcloud. And whenever I can, I play his music. I do mean everywhere. I did watch his livestream he did a few months ago, and it was just so damn different. He was sitting there, with some musical equipment, having a nice glass of wine. And he was just chilled. Now THAT'S how I feel, whenever I hear his songs. And this latest album is top notch, if I must say so. The album consists of 10 records, ranging from normal length to extremely long. And not a lot of 'in your face' stuff going on. Minimalism is the key word. With only a few bits and bobs he tickles your senses, and gets you going. You will be sitting there, bewildered, and dazed. You don't know what hits you. This sense of 'achievement', that is what I'm feeling. Even though I've not achieved a single thing, the music makes me feel like I have. Like I've entered a new layer of Heaven. So this album, right, is on Amazon Music. And other outlets too. And as I said before, 10 records. Amazingly created records. And I'm guessing you are curious now, if you haven't seen ATTLAS' previous mix, right? So here's the tracklist of probably the best album of 2020: ATTLAS - Morning Fields ATTLAS - Polar Concept ATTLAS - Uour ATTLAS - Seabreeze ATTLAS - Thunderstorms From The Balcony ATTLAS - When We Were The Same ATTLAS - In A Cloud ATTLAS - Ponds ATTLAS - Mgt ATTLAS - Out There With You If you haven't checked this album out already, no worries. It has only been a few months since its initial release (06/11/20), and there's plenty of time for you to check it out. And as a taster, underneath this review, I've got the Soundcloud player with all 10 records, so that might give you an extra push in persuading you to listen to this. Professional reviewers might go in depth, and talk about equipment used by ATTLAS, which key note he used, which bla bla bla. I am not professional. I write from the heart, and the heart tells me that ATTLAS is so damn underrated. He deserve everything. His music is so moving and full of emotions, every second you absorb his music is one you have gained, and it makes you feel happier. Sometimes sad, dependant on your mood, but in general it will make you feel happier. And coming from someone who is struggling with mental health issues that's a good thing. ATTLAS seems to capture emotions within each second of each track. Not all records are long, or as intense as others. For example 'Ponds'. When I hear this song, I immediately feel like I'm sitting next to a pond, just wondering. Seeing raindrops falling onto the water, ricocheting off. Sunshine coming through the clouds, and yet I am all alone. No one around me. Just me and the eternal blissful water landscape in front of me. Nothing can hurt me, or make me feel sad. Bless ATTLAS for the piano section, that just tops off the record. But then, as emotional as that record might be (as an example), he brings the heat with 'Out There With You'. Even the wife, who's not a huge fan of Dance music per se, knows the song, and hums along. That's one of ATTLAS' trades: he makes recognisable yet harmonic yet catchy songs. They won't leave your head that quickly. As mentioned before, ATTLAS will stay with you from the moment you discover him. Which record is the best? 'Uour'. Seriously don't have a clue how to pronounce this word, but that record is just amazing. From the dancefloor to the Heavens above. One second he embraces you, the next he throws you onto the dancefloor, and wants you to dance. Dance like everyone is watching, and no one cares about you. You are the world. The world evolves around you. You are everything and everyone. I am seriously impressed. The mix he did for this album was my favourite one of 2020, but this album has to come even higher. Is this the best album of 2020, or even of ever? You might agree of disagree, which you are entitled to, but at least would you give it a go? Let ATTLAS into your home, and never let him go. Please, will you do that for me? Absolutely epic album. Breathtakingly beautiful. The highest score available for this masterpiece! 21st century in a nutshell! Made in 2020, timeless masterpiece. • The Next Generation Records Podcast Archive (2021)

It is Friday, and we've survived yet another week. And normally on Monday, Wednesday and Friday you do expect a review by yours truly, but this week I haven't got just one mix you will enjoy: I've got 31 awesome mixes! As you have already seen the image above this review, you know that I'm talking about the Next Generation Records podcast series. A highly successful podcast series, which gained notoriety within the UK Hardcore scene, and it's still highly sought after mix series. It has left an impact, years after they decided to stop doing those awesome 60+ minute long podcasts. I became obsessed with these podcasts, and started listening to them. Obviously I started at number 1, and finished with number 30. 30 emotional and yet hilarious podcasts later they decided to throw the towel in the ring, and call it a day. It had run its day. They were to start new adventures separately, but they did come back just once, for a special. But those 31 episodes were magical. You felt part of this Next Gen Records podcast community. Brisk and Fracus has this chemistry, a chemistry I have not heard anywhere else since they stopped doing these podcasts. Fracus and Darwin's own podcast series is also successful, but it's a bit more mature. With Brisk and Fracus you knew you would hear something absolutely silly. Who remembers the farting intro, or the silly jokes throughout, or the hilarious sponsors? You know, and you can make fun of me as much as you like, I did thought shortly that they were genuine sponsors. I did eventually realise that it was Brisk and Fracus. That moment when it hits you, it hits you hard, and it made me feel like an absolute freaking doughnut. Banter was obviously important. But the music was the main focal point of this podcast series. They presented new music and got people excited. Not just their own productions, but from a wide range of producers, known and well known. And to top it off, they would have guest mixes from well established DJs. And the list is really impressive. So, you might have already guessed it, instead of a tracklist, I am going to give you a podcast list of every podcast Brisk and Fracus (and Ham too, let's not forget Ham) did, and which guest mixes they had. It will blow your mind, trust me. At least I can attach a player underneath, which contains all of these podcasts, so you can enjoy them in one go. I do miss a good podcast series. I don't follow any, because none have really captured me as much as the Next Gen Records podcast series has. Their humour was amazing, really snappy, and sometimes none sensical humour. And that's my kind of humour. But all jokes aside, the music was the main focus for me. And the music, sweet Lord, was oh so good. UK Hardcore sounded so good back then. It has changed, hasn't it? It's not like it used to be. I miss the good old days. They started with a few UK Hardcore anthems, slowly went into Freeform, and ended with Gabber/Hardcore, and after that they had their guest mixes. And as you can see from the list above, their guests were all superstars! You can see why this podcast was so successful when it was aired. Can't even remember where it was aired? I used to follow UK Hardcore everywhere and was part of many forums and social pages, but I've lost track. Does anyone remember where these were aired on? Obviously the podcast was to promote their own stuff, but they did more than that. They kept the fans eager, eager for the next podcast. And for those 31 sessions they entertained us highly, be it with their banter, or with their music, or their guest's mixes. I've recently rediscovered it, and now I'm listening to them again. Completely forgot that my name was mentioned during one or two podcasts, quite embarrassing. But for it's the whole package which was awesome, and I've not seen or heard since. I miss the Next Generation Records podcasts. I do miss Brisk and Fracus, and friends. I miss the music. And I miss the adverts. Fuck, time flies too quickly. Can we expect number 32 any day soon, or not? Are there any future plans? Or has it slowly moved away from both Brisk and Fracus' diary, and it will never happen? As sad as that might be, at least we've got to thank them (and Ham) for 31 very interesting podcasts. I hope for more, but that's no up to me. Maybe if we start a 'Go Fund Me' page, or a Kickstarter campaign? If we do, let's hope it won't be as long as their Thru The Roof campaign. That was a tad long. That was a joke. Well, I thought it was. Fuck you. I know I am not as funny as Brisk or Fracus... (emotional wreck) (the crazy dutchman)..... Anyway, the best bits of these podcasts were DJ Gammer's second mix, DJ Slipmatt's mix, Partyraiser, oh and let's not forget Technikore's mix! So many great mixes! And also the oldskool mix they did. All jokes aside (again), you can download these from Soundcloud.

  • Outforce - 2021 Kick Off Mix

I can't remember how long it has been since I last reviewed a UK Hardcore mix. But it's been a while. It is not that I lost interest or anything, but I don't find many mixes on Soundcloud with a tracklist. And for this website it is mandatory. I always find it easier for people who want to purchase songs to find out which song it exactly is, instead of guessing. But thankfully I have found a mix a couple of days ago on Soundcloud, which already had a lot of good feedback, and a lot of plays. The mix I'm talking about, is a mix by DJ Outforce! Maybe my algorithm on Soundcloud is messed up, but I do keep missing good music. I think I stumbled across this mix by accident, but a good accident it was. This mix might only be roughly 30 minutes long, but within those 30 minutes Outforce takes you on a journey through the wonderful world of UK Hardcore. Obviously jam packed with his own productions. And I'm guessing they have been released already, or might be released soon. If you know the answer, leave a comment below. As I mentioned before, I've missed out on a lot of music coming out of the scene, so I'm not familiar with any of Outforce's latest releases. But only within a handful of seconds I knew I was going to be enjoying this mix a lot. A bit of everything, from the well known and much loved Done sound to the mighty Powerstomp kicks, all brought together into this wonderful mix. A lot of plays this already has, and people seem to dig the tunes a lot. So let's dive right in, and let's start with the tracklist: Kritikal Mass - Jorris Bhonson (Outforce vs Madsik Remix) DJ Gollum - The Bad Touch (Outforce Remix) Gabry Ponte x Jerome - Lonely (Outforce Remix) Klaas - OK Without You (Outforce Remix) Madsik - Soundflow (Outforce Remix) Outforce - Star Crossed Lovers Flip & Fill - Shooting Star 2020 (Outforce Remix) Outforce - Break My Bones Outforce - Light In You Outforce & Hartshorn - Low Freaqz Outforce - Like I Do (Remix) Madsik - Navigator (Remix) You might look at the tracklist and not get a clear picture of what this mix is about. But don't worry: there's a play button, so instead of focussing on the tracklist, why not just focus on the actual mix? And the mix is tight, and the records too! As mentioned before, I've missed out on a lot, and seeing this and hearing this mix for the first time did make me smile, and ignite the spark again for UK Hardcore. I can't remember when I reviewed Outforce for the last time, but it's a long time again. So this is a re-introduction into his wonderful world. And I have to say that I am impressed with the mix, and the quality of the tunes, but I'm clearly not the only one. I do love his production skills, and the tunes he has selected for this mix, are all amazing. However, I am not a fan of the Bloodhound Gang and their music. And hearing Outforce playing a tune with their familiar lyrics/vocals, just grinds my gears. I have got a hatred toward the Bloodhound Gang, as devastating as that might sound. I do love the fact that the rest of the track is ace, but when I hear that voice, I just turn violent. Can't stand it. OK, enough with the small talk, which is the best record in this mix? 'Soundflow' by Madsik, remixed by Outforce. A lot of Powerstomp influences, and a wicked mid-section. A good build up. It has got everything I want to hear. This makes me happy. A fantastic mix. Bring on 2021, fuck off 2020. You've haunted us enough. We need to get out into the world again, and start raving! • EurufiQ - The Great Euphoric Year Mix 2k20

2020 has been a funny year. For many not a good year, but for some it's been OK, or even great. During 2020 we had a lot of wicked tunes being released, and the Hardstyle scene was one of those you had to follow, to get you through this horrendous year. And to showcase what was released during 2020, the best way you can, is by listening to a year mix. Today's year mix was made by DJ Rawdust, who I've reviewed before in the past. And guess what? It's jam packed with Euphoric Hardstyle anthems. Guess you want to hear that, eh? I've reviewed a few year mixes, and 2020 was the year of Hardstyle for me. We had so many wicked releases, from a wide range of artists. The scene hasn't stopped, even though the world has. It has been pushing music forward, and gave us great content, to get us through to the day we can say 'bye' to COVID, and we can party yet again, like 1 1/2 year ago. We need to get back to that world, it was much better. Better, but with the music released in 2020 it would become even better! So what has Rawdust done for this mix? He's picked 41 records, mixed them all together, and the result is an hour and 20 minute long mix. The tracklist is one you would really need to see, and absorb. You will love it. Intro - The Gate Headhunterz & JDX - Transcendence Adrenalize - For You KELTEK - Awaken D-Block & S-te-Fan - Primal Energy (Defqon.1 2020 Anthem) Headhunterz feat Sian Evans - The Hunter And The Prey Firelite & DEEZL - Tear The Walls Down Exilium - Into The Light Cygnus X - Superstring (Aftershock Extended Remix) Hayway & B-Nance - Rise & Fall Atmozfears - My Story Brennan Heart feat Jake Reese - Lose It All Wildstylez & TNT - Exist Sound Rush - For You Atmozfears & Sound Rush - Crazy Wildstylez & Ran-D - Warriors Stormerz & Solstice - Fake Ones Beto - Hope Hunta - Funky Brennan Heart & Psyko Punkz - Everything We Are Fury & Kriss X - Home Clockartz - Coming Alive Coone & Sound Rush - Inception Psyko Punkz, Frequencerz & Villain - Together Audiofreq & Darksiderz - The 9th Gate Sound Rush - No One Ever Knows Sound Rush & Villain - Infinite Skies Naptone - In His Life Genericz - Hold On Da Tweekaz & Refuzion - So Good Ephoric - The Awakening Headhunterz feat Sian Evans - Dragonborn Part 3 Wildstylez & Aftershock feat LXCPR - Never Bring Us Down TNT & Ruffneck - Mindcontroller 2k20 Wildstylez - Deeper Than The Ocean Wasted Penguinz - Another High Aria - Meteora D-Block & S-te-Fan & Villain - Trouble Audiotricz & Bass Modulators - Thriller Interfearence - Circus Of Eternity Outsiders & Alee - Dubbel Zo Hard Wow. This is a wide variety of artists, all smashed into an hour and 20 minute long mix. Good selection by DJ Rawdust. Really like it. And also the fact that the world is still sane, and keeps on doing what it does best, with the limited resources we've got. We are all stuck indoors, and why not try to make the best out of it, eh? Hardstyle does make me happy. Euphoric Hardstyle even more. I'm really in awe of this type of music, how it brings a miserable person like myself, into the right state of mind. And the records selected by Rawdust do bring a smile on my face. Not all of them, but the majority do. Let's say 97% of the records are awesome. It's been a great year for Hardstyle. But which record has blown me away the most? Well, there are two. I couldn't decide on which I should favour the most. It's 'Warriors' by Wildstylez and Ran-D, and 'Tear The Walls Down' by Firelite & DEEZL. I really adore these two records. A good mix, with a few mixing errors. But nothing you should consider in your judgement if you should or shouldn't play this mix. It still brings a smile on your face. Well, I'm sitting here with a huge ass smile, so that's a positive thing, right? • Colin H - This Was Meant To Be A Traxtorm Mix - September 2020

I've been very busy this week, hence why there's not been a review from me in about 4 days. Work has taken over everything, and that's a positive: as long as I'm busy, I'm OK. But today I had to get back online, and share this mix with you all. And yes, it's yet another Hardcore mix, which might seem a tad boring, but you know deep down inside that you want to hear it. You want to hear it. I want you to acknowledge it. And there's no shame in it: many others like you have got the same feelings. Some even turned their backs to the scene, but when they see the tracklist of this mix, it will make them fancy Hardcore once again. The mix today was made by someone called Colin H. Never heard or seen his name before, but hey ho, that's life. And the mix, if you haven't figured it already, is a Traxtorm mix. Or it should have been, but it isn't just exclusively Traxtorm. A friend of him asked him to do a Traxtorm mix, and other records slipped in. So you get Traxtorm and a bit more. How's that sounding? The mix is an hour and 40 minutes, and once you look at the tracklist, you will be hooked. Oh God, I do miss the Millennium Hardcore sound so much, its indescribable. I've grown up with this sound, and sometimes I feel that time is just flying too damn fast. When I was a wee young lad, I did buy a lot of Traxtorm albums, and have devoured them. I've even seen a few of its artists roster play, that was awesome. It's still a highly regarded label with many memorable records under its belt. Hence my enthusiasm when I saw this mix. So, let's see what Colin H has in store for us. The Stunned Guys & DJ Paul - Thrillseeka Tommyknocker - The Aftermath Tommyknocker - The Nutrition Neophyte vs The Stunned Guys - The Music Is Rising Tommyknocker - Showtime Tommyknocker vs Sunbeam - Twisted World Art Of Fighters feat Tommyknocker - Follow Me Tommyknocker - Revolution Tommyknocker - T-2002 Tommyknocker - Domination Tha Playah - Fuck The Titties (The Viper & Tommyknocker Remix) Tommyknocker - Demolition Art Of Fighters vs Nico & Tetta - Balls Breakers Tommyknocker - The World Is Mine The Stunned Guys & Tommyknocker - Your Choice Art Of Fighters vs Nico & Tetta - Pump Motherfuckers Tommyknocker - Woman (T-Factor Remix) The Stunned Guys & DJ Mad Dog - Headz Art Of Fighters vs Nico & Tetta - I Became Hardcore DJ Mad Dog - Obey All Orders DJ Mad Dog - Atmosphere DJ Mad Dog - Reset The Outside Agency - Shadow Circle The Outside Agency - Locker Room Talk VIP The Outside Agency - Destruction Well, I was expecting a few Tommyknocker records, but the majority of the records played, are his records. I do appreciate Tommyknocker's music from around the Millennium: his style always excited me the most. His approach to Hardcore made it sound like next level stuff. And it has stood the test of time. But it's not just him in this mix. There are a few other artists you might like, like DJ Mad Dog, The Outside Agency, The Stunned Guys, Art Of Fighters, etc. I have to congratulate Colin H for making this wicked mix. I've come across many Traxtorm mixes, and I'm always pleased to hear them. The records they released were truly excellent, and capture the scene as its peak. It was dominating the whole world, and Traxtorm was one of the finest labels out there. In this mix we get the finest Hardcore from 2000, and also a few Industrial Hardcore anthems. Which record did make me rave the hardest? Well, there are a few contenders, like 'Your Choice', 'Demolition', 'Fuck The Titties', 'T-2002'. 'The Nutrition', 'Showtime', but all my love goes to the main record of this mix: 'The Aftermath'. One of the scene's finest anthems ever made. And that's a statement. An underrated classic that still has the power to demolish dance floors all over the world. Or, in 2020/2021 terms, destroy living rooms and bedrooms. A few small mixing errors, but seriously nothing major.Hence why this mix gets the highest score from me. • Promo - Vinyl Set @ OSN Oldschool Stage (Imperial XL - June 2017)

The other day I was looking for something on Soundcloud, but I can't remember what it was. It had something to do with Hardcore music, without a shadow of a doubt, but what I was looking for, could have literally been everything. My mind works in mysterious ways, and I cannot describe to you how I am able to sit through this review without loosing my head. But anyway, before I am going to be taken to a psychiatric hospital, let me share with you all a set by the legendary DJ and producer DJ Promo, from 2017. The event Promo played at, was called 'Imperial Hardcore, The XL Edition', and it took place on the 10th of June 2017, which feels like an eternity ago. The line-up looked good, with a few big names on here: Promo (of course), Chosen Few, Danger Hardcore Team, Frantic Freak, Yves, and more. Never heard of this event before, or even the location. Somewhere in Belgium. That's the only thing I know. Yeah, my knowledge is limited. But what do I actually know? Well, I've heard of DJ Promo before (*sarcasm*) and I love me a bit of Hardcore. Put them two together, and you should have a brilliant set. Promo's records have always been one of my favourite of all time, and for his Imperial Hardcore event, he had picked a shit ton of his own records, to please the Belgian crowd. Must have felt fantastic, seeing Promo play these bad boy tunes, eh? Here's the tracklist, for those Hardcore freaks out there! Promo - Counter Attack Promo - Up Yours! Promo feat Trickstyle - What U Want Promo & DJ X-Ess - Vicious Circle Promo - Dancefloor Hardcore Promo - The Bad Guy Promo - I Come Correct Promo - King Of Pain Promo - My Underground Madness Promo - Patterns In Chaos Promo - Among The Best Promo vs Digital Boy - Serious Damage Promo - Brother Of Conflict Promo - Messing With Yo Mind G-Shock - Demons (Promo Remix) Promo - Phreak Ya Speaka Vince & Promo - Lyin' Through Your Teeth Paul Elstak & DJ Promo - Enemies 4 Life (DJ Promo Remix) Well I glanced at the tracklist, provided by Hansolo on Soundcloud, and I thought there would be a variety of tracklist, but they are all by Promo. And I mean them all! Fucking hell, he literally took only the Promo files with him. Everything Promo related comes through in this set. Is that a bad thing? Or is it a good thing? I would say it's a good thing to hear a lot of Promo music. A huge fan of his discography. He has made a lot of excellent tunes, also a few stinkers, but mostly big hits. Memorable anthems. He's been an inspiration for a few decades now, hence why they asked him to play at this event. The tracks are all solid. You know them all, and you love them all. I would to hear them right now, as we speak, live in a club or at a festival. Sadly COVID has been in my way. So I have to make do with Soundcloud. The set is good, but contains a few errors. Some small, some a tad bigger. Nothing that dramatic, it's still a vinyl set, so not all using fancy machinery. But still, not a 100% flawless set. Still enjoyable. And it's also free to download! So what are you waiting for? • NYE Mix By Painbringer (Play! Festival) (2020)

2020 has come to an end, and what a year it has been. The only good thing about 2020 is that it's over. 2021 is the year of our Lord, and let's hope we can all go out again, Out, and rave again. As hard as fucking possible. I can tell that there are millions of people out there who feel the same, and want the same. Sadly we shouldn't risk our lives, and we are to stay indoors, but that day will come, when we will hear 'COVID has been defeated'. That day will a glorious day for mankind, and millions of people will purchase tickets for events, and I'll be one of them. Some might even look to see where specific artists play. If you are a fan of Hardcore music, you might even want to look and see where Painbringer plays. This Hardcore legend recently played at Play! Festival at NYE, and his set can now be found online. A full on Gabber set, with a lot of his own productions in it. I am always impressed when I see 'new' names appear, who keep the glorious old Hardcore/Gabber sound alive. Painbringer is one of those names. I was introduced into his wonderful world when I hear 'Words Of '95' for the first time. My God, did that song capture 1995, for sure! He's been on my radar ever since, and when I saw that he uploaded his NYE mix, I had to have a look (and listen, of course). The tracklist persuaded me to have a go, and I wasn't to be disappointed! Here's the tracklist for all you early Hardcore lovers! Jones & Stephenson - The First Rebirth MD&A - Blow Knightvision vs Wedlock - Wayz Of The Core (Teaching) MD&A - Kick It Down (Painbringer Remix) Omar Santana - From The Dark Side Predator - Turbulence DJ Weirdo & Dr. Phil Omanski - Young Birds Painbringer - In Your Memory Painbringer - Everything Or Nothing Predator - Filled With Power Painbringer - Ghosttown Painbringer - Words Of '95 (Remastered) Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo - DJ Fuck Party Animals - Used & Abused (Amnesia Mix) Painbringer - The Religion Painbringer - Grave Splitter (2006 Mix) Painbringer - Never Say Die Omar Santana - Get Ready Mothafukas Predator - Human Blood Juggernaut - Got 2B A Ruffneck Painbringer - Hardcore Future Painbringer - Sidious 3 Steps Ahead - Gangster (Feel So Good) I have to say, that it's nice to hear new 'old' records. Painbringer is someone who is keeping the music alive, with a 2020/2021 approach to the early Gabber sound. And it's definitely a bliss to hear new music. It's good that it's kept alive, it is such a wonderful sound. You don't hear it that often anymore: everyone is focussed on the rougher and harder sound, but give me the 90s every single day, and I wouldn't moan about it. I'm not familiar with this event, so I can't tell who else played at this event. So our focus is on Painbringer and his set. And his set is fucking epic. Mixed together live, so there might be a few tiny errors, but nothing major. But what you are all waiting for, is my personal judgment on which record is the finest, right? Well, there are two excellent anthems. One is called 'Blow' and it's by MD&A, and the other is called 'Everything Or Nothing'. 'Blow' just reminds me of the catchy 90s anthems, and 'Everything Or Nothing' just sounds new, but still maintains the 90s sound. And it's got bits of the Batman film in it. That's cool. A wonderful set. If you love the 90s, and you think Hardcore/Gabber is dope, check it out. And definitely check out Painbringer on Soundcloud. Such an underrated producer who deserves more credit. • Art Of Creation Yearmix 2020

Is it just me, or have we seen less year mixes? It could just simply be me, and my Soundcloud algorithm has changed, but normally I would see hundreds of year mixes , but I've only come across a handful of mixes. One of them being a well hyped year mix, by the successful Hardstyle label Art Of Creation. They had an extremely successful year, despite COVID happening. They made tunes, which became hit after hit. And to celebrate the end of the year, and the year they had behind, they made this mix. An hour and a half long mix, with 34 of their releases. The label has got a lot of excellent producers, the names will blind you: Noisecontrollers, Headhunterz, Wildstylez, Project One, Bass Modulators, Sound Rush, and Audiotricz. And guess what? You will hear a lot of these producers in this mix. But not only will you find productions by Art Of Creation's own artist roster, but also a few where they have collaborated with big names, such as Darren Styles, D-Sturb, KELTEK, Demi Kanon, Sian Evans, and many, many more. If you are into Euphoric Hardstyle, this mix is just your cup of tea. And if you miss hearing these anthems at a festival, you aren't the only one. We will survive this COVID shite, so be patient: you will hear these anthems somewhere soon. Somewhere, with thousands of fellow ravers. We will get there, trust me. You will hear the anthems which would have filled a field with ravers in 2020 soon. Maybe 2021 is going to be our year? Anyway, if you haven't checked it already, why not check out this mix now? Here's the tracklist. Headhunterz feat Sian Evans - Dragonborn Part 3 (Oceans Apart) Sound Rush - Brothers Wildstylez - Deeper Than The Ocean Wildstylez - Children Of Drums (Headhunterz Remix) Audiotricz feat Michael Jo - Skywards Audiotricz - Let There Be Light (Code Black Remix) Bass Modulators & Bram Boender - Survive Audiotricz feat Nino Lucarelli - Distance Wildstylez & Da Tweekaz feat XCEPTION - Adrenaline Sound Rush - No One Ever Knows Audiotricz feat Aloma Steele - Don't Say Goodbye Audiotricz & Demi Kanon - Renegade Coone & Sound Rush - Inception Headhunterz feat Sian Evans - The Hunter And The Prey Da Tweekaz x Sound Rush feat XCEPTION - Thunder Audiotricz & E-Life - Supersonic Audiotricz & Ecstatic feat MERYLL - You Wildstylez & TNT - Exist Sound Rush - For You Wildstylez & Aftershock feat LXCPR - Never Bring Us Down Wildstylez feat Noubya - Shake The Ground Bass Modulators - Live And Let Die KELTEK & Sound Rush - One Of Us Audiotricz - Alchemy Of Hardstyle (Ecstatic Remix) Audiotricz & E-Life - Different Sound Rush & Villain - Infinite Skies Audiotricz - Shamed Atmozfears & Sound Rush - Crazy Bass Modulators & Sub Sonik - Haunted Audiotricz & Atmozfears - Way Of The Wicked D-Sturb & Sound Rush - Embracing The Madness Wildstylez x Sound Rush feat Ruby Prophet - Untameable (Tweekacore Remix) Audiotricz & Darren Styles - Energy Audiotricz & Bass Modulators - Thriller We can all say that we have had a shit year, and it's not been great, and so far 2021 ain't looking great either. And a lot of people have struggled, and still struggle. One of those group of people are artists, who solely live on performing and selling stuff. So why not, after hearing this mix, go to their website, and purchase some merchandise, some records, etc. We should support everyone who needs help, as much as we can, and we are all in this together. 2020 has been a great year, music wise. A lot of excellent tunes being released, and this tracklist shows us how great Art Of Creation's year has been. So many damn good releases. But is it just me who sees a lot of releases by Audiotricz? They were on a roll in 2020. But all the records in this mix has been successful: we just need to hear them at a festival, to hear them at their full potential. The time will come. Obviously, on a production level, the records are awesome. Some I didn't really appreciate that much (for example: Sound Rush - Brothers), but I would say that 95% of all these records have been great. But which of these 34 records stands out the most? Well, that's an easy answer.... I do love the vocals and the actual lyrics from 'Different, which was done by Sound Rush and Villain. So suitable for 2020. And it's one of those records which remains in your head for quite some time. Very catchy. A fantastic year mix. One you need to check out, if you haven't already. FUCK 2020, 2021 BE DIFFERENT. • Defective - This Is Powerstomp Vol 3 Showcase Mix (2020)

Powerstomp. It's still around, for those who missed it. And it's great news. I used to love it a lot, and then it slowly went away, for no apparent reason. But Joey Riot came up with an idea. An idea so good, you couldn't say no to it. His label Lethal Theory was the location for Powerstomp a few years ago, and he was about to relaunch the style again with a brand new CD. But it became a Kickstarter campaign to get this all moving. I am not an expert in Kickstarter campaign, but I'm guessing it's as simple as it sounds? You just donate money to someone, there's a target they need to reach, and once that is reached, the person delivers on that promise. And for this specific campaign, Joey Riot had multiple options you could choose from. Starting from £19 and going as high as you wanted it to be. Someone pledged around £1250 or more, and with such an amount of money, you do get more perks. So the more you pay, the more perks you get. The goal was to reach £10,000, and he overshot that by 220%. He reached £22,064, and he now has an album which he can share with the world. The third instalment of the This Is Powerstomp' series. You get an album with tracks made by Joey Riot and friends. Who are his friends? Mike Reverie, Armin Lloyd, Seduction, M-Project, Technikore, Suae, Enemy, Macks Wolf, Kurt, Weaver, Elov8, Violate, Marc Smith, Haywire, The Watcher, Cally, Kutski,, and more. But that's not just good news for the Powerstomp massive. Remember DJ Defective and his Core Sessions? He's back! I don't know where he went, but he's back, and guess what his first mix is? Yes, you are right: a promo mix for Joey's latest album. So expect 42 minutes of Powerstomp madness! Joey Riot x Haywire feat Tha Watcher - The World Is Our Stage Joey Riot x Marc Smith - Wait For You Joey Riot x Elov8 x Violate - Tell Me Joey Riot x Weaver - This Is A FKN Banger Joey Riot x Kurt - The Buzz I Want Joey Riot x Macks Wolf - This Is My Story Joey Riot x Technikore x Suae - LMHYR Joey Riot x M-Project feat Enemy - Killin It Joey Riot x Seduction - Face Down Ass Up Joey Riot - I Want Drugs ... Now! Joey Riot x Armin Lloyd - Ready Set Boing! Joey Riot x Mike Reverie - Another Dimension On the actual album you get more records. I've not listened to the album yet, but guessing Joey was fully involved, you will get high quality anthems. With Joey you know you get some stomping anthems. And if you are into Powerstomp, you will be in for a treat. Defective has selected 12 records of the album, and mixed them together nicely. His tracklist might say 11, but he missed out on Joey Riot own record 'I Want Drugs ... Now!'. Funnily enough the biggest record of this mix. The oldskool piano bit just does it for me. Takes me right back to the early days of Happy Hardcore, with a Powerstomp twist. But does that mean the other anthems are boring, and absolute shite? Nope. Absolutely not. Defective starts with a banging track, that will certainly become a dancefloor slammer, and basically the rest of the mix is just one hit after the other. But not one hit wonders though. I have to say that sometimes producers do these projects, relive the good ol' days, but then the album or mix sounds NOTHING like the old sound. With this album, Joey has stayed true to the Powerstomp sound. Yes, the quality might have been amped up slightly, but the main gist is still present. You can easily tell this apart from UK Hardcore/Happy Hardcore. A wonderful mix, and a wonderful album. Well, the 12 records do sound wicked. And it's good to see not only Joey back in the producing seat, Powerstomp being back in our lives, but also Defective returning. Welcome back, everyone. Let's make Powerstomp big again. It deserves a bigger stage. • New Trance Generation Best Of Bart Claessen (2017)

Bart Claessen. A.k.a. Barthezz. A.k.a. Stereoshaker. This fellow civilian of the beautiful province of the Netherlands called Limburg, is a well known DJ and producer, and a few of his hits have reached the Top 40 in the UK. With 'On The Move' and 'Infected' he reached the UK charts back in 2001, and they are still highly recommended Trance anthems. And the reason why I am talking to you about this DJ today, is because I heard Barthezz the other day, and I wanted to hear more. And voila, it led me to this mix, made by Gates Of Paradise, 4 years ago. I am aware of Barthezz, but I don't know a lot of Bart Claessen's back catalogue. And after hearing this mix, I should have paid more attention to him! My God, Gates Of Paradise's mix is jam packed with classic Trance anthems. Seriously, impressive sounds. I did recognise two other records, but this hour long mix has got more records by this legend. Maybe I did hear them on compilations before, but you know what you do when you are younger: you don't pay attention. The older you get, the more refined taste you develop. New Year, new me. Well, not really. Still a music enthusiast, and hearing this mix makes me happy. Extremely happy. Wouldn't you be, if you would find such a mix? Just check out the tracklist, have a butchers! Meck - Windmills (Bart Claessen Remix) Bart Claessen & Rene Martens - El Dorado (Original Mix) Meck & Dino - Feels Like A Prayer (Bart Claessen Dub Mix) Susana & Bart Claessen - If I Could (Bart Claessen 2001 Remix) Tiesto feat BT - Love Comes Again (Bart Claessen Remix) Bart Claessen - When Morning Comes (Original Mix) Bart Claessen - Hartseer (Original Mix) Bart Claessen - Elf (Original Mix) Bart Claessen - First Light (Original Dub Mix) Bart Claessen - Playmo (First Play) Bart Claessen presents Barthezz - On The Move (Original Mix) It is cool to end a mix with the producer's biggest hit, but after hearing this mix, I have to conclude that this isn't his finest record. It might have been the biggest in the UK chart, but is it Bart's finest? Nope. Of course you want to know which record I find the finest of this mix. Well, here we go: 'Elf'. What a fucking monster anthem! Can't remember if I'd ever heard this one before, but I certainly won't forget it from now on. Seriously, chills from the first to the last beat. An absolute stunner of a record. And the build up is tremendously insane. You can feel Bart taking us on a journey like never before. I do prefer this kind of Trance music. Minimalistic, but yet powerful. Each track has a punch, and it delivers that punch unexpected. You will be in for a treat once you press play. Gates Of Paradise has done a great job in composing this mix, highlighting Bart Claessen's skill as a producer. Yes, he might have been big with Barthezz, but he's certainly no one hit wonder. Fuck it, no need to continue with this review. I am on a roll now: 'Elf' is on a loop now, and I'm in ecstasy. And so should you. • Soundcloud - Your 2020 Playback

The year has finally come to an end, and we can look back at a weird year. With a few ups and downs, but for me it's been OK-ish. For me the year was filled with music, be it livestreams, live sets from years gone by, or just new mixes. And Soundcloud has played a huge part to me in 2020. It was my daily place for music. There might be other sources, like Mixcloud, Spotify, iTunes, etc, but Soundcloud remains my place to visit every single day. And I do mean every single day. I wake up, Soundcloud goes on. And throughout my working day, or even weekends, Soundcloud is on. I only recently discovered this 'Your 2020 Playback' playlist thing on Soundcloud. Or just in general the 'Playback' playlist, which they have every single year. What this does, is reminds you of your most played tracks on Soundcloud. I don't know the formula behind this playlist, but it is interesting, to say the least. It shows you which tracks you have absorbed over and over. And I'm not sure if it's in order? I've looked at my list for 2020, and some I can fully relate to, why they are on there. I've listened to them over and over again, because they were so freaking awesome. But some I might have played a few times, not really worthy to be reminded of? But they did make it to the list. It would be interesting to see the algorithm behind this selection. Do you learn anything from this list? Maybe, maybe not. To me it underlines which styles I like, and that I do like literally everything Dance music related. From Hardstyle to Hardcore, from Trance to Freeform, from Hard Trance to Breakbeat, from Progressive House to Industrial Hardcore, from Jumpstyle to Dutch Hip Hop, from Techno to you name it, and I have listened to it. It is nice to show to people that I do listen to everything. For me it's one of the reasons why you should sometimes look back, back in time. It is nice to be remembering certain tracks you will forget sooner or later, because the algorithm just pushes them out of your sight. So why this blog post? To ask you to share your musical interest to everyone you follow on Soundcloud. Let them see a snippet of what you like. And today I'm sharing my 2018, 2019 and 2020 Playback playlist. See if you are as amazed as I am. And if you are questioning my musical choices, ask yourself the same question: is your playlist as interesting as mine? And it turns out, I can't share my whole playlist. Damn damn damn. You just have to click the link below to be directed to my Soundcloud throwback playlists. • ATTLAS - Out Here Together (2020)

How to end 2020? In style! I did not see this mix being published 11 days ago, but ATTLAS did give us a treat at the end of a weird year. But not only this treat has been amazing, his two albums too, which were released in 2020: 'Out Here With You', and 'Lavender God'. Now you might be wondering what this new mix is all about, seeing as it's got a very similar name to his latest album? Well, in short, it's a promo mix of his latest album, with the usual great additional bits and bobs here and there, which gives this mix the added bonus of being heavenly. ATTLAS used more fancier words than me, but I'm trying to explain myself while listening to this mix at the same time, and it's difficult. How can you express emotions, when you've got the emotional range of a potato? What I do know is that ATTLAS has given us a wonderful album, and this mix is yet supreme. I would call this a follow up mix to his 'STORYLINE' mix series. It isn't part of it, but secretly it is. It has all the ingredients of a STORYLINE mix. Anyway, this is a 50 minute long mix, with all the tracks from his album. Don't get too confused: the album isn't called 'Out Here Together', that's only the name of this mix. The album you need to get, is called 'Out Here With You'. But before you do, you want to get a taster of what's on the album, right? Here's the tracklist. Enjoy. ATTLAS - Out There With You ATTLAS - Ponds ATTLAS - Polar Concept ATTLAS - When We Were The Same ATTLAS - Uour ATTLAS - In A Cloud ATTLAS - Mgt ATTLAS - Seabreeze Wow. If you haven't checked the album out already, you might need to check this mix prior to buying the album. Seriously, another impressive mix by ATTLAS. He never, and I do mean never, disappoints. He is always at the right place, at the right time. Whenever you need his music, he's there. And sometimes he does please you with a new mix, like this one. And of course, after hearing this, you want to check out the album. You should, you definitely should. ATTLAS has had a brilliant year. And during this year he has uploaded a lot of new music, and a few sets, including two livestreams which I have devoured multiple times in a row. And now I can add this masterpiece of a mix to the good things which I have encountered in 2020. This mix is just too blooming good. All 8 records are just astonishing, but 'When We Were The Same' remains the best. Next level stuff. 'Out There With You' is also good, 10 minutes long, but you won't see time as a concept: time flies by, and after 10 minutes you don't even realise that you have just in paradise for 10 minutes. I've got nothing else to add. Just a superb mix. And the album? Well, I'm going to get that right now! And so should you! • Hjärngymnastik 104: Normotensiv Snögubbskomponering (2020)

It is the last day of 2020, and what a horrible year it has been. We have all struggled throughout this horrific year, but thankfully a new year is about to emerge. And let's hope it's better than the one we just had. And let's end the one with a super cool and awesome mix, for which I do not know the title of. Well, the title is 'Hjärngymnastik 104: Normotensiv Snögubbskomponering ', and I am guessing it is a Scandinavian language? If not, I do apologise in advance. But I don't want to spoil the mystery and Google the answer. In my head, after seeing the image, it's all about a snow man with clothes on, and a doughnut on a chair? Fricking hell, it sounds like I am having a bad trip! But let's get back to normality. I don't know what the title means. But that should not spoil the fun, right? Whoever made this mix, I salute you. Is it Kiskelfacit who made this mix? Can anyone shed a light on this mix? Anyway, you might be thinking why you should listen to this mix? Well, multiple reasons, but the main reason would be: do you like House music? If so, you are in for something special. This mix is filled with early 90s to 2000 House/Deep House anthems. And after listening to this mix already like 10 times, I can assure you that these records don't seem to sound dated at all. If someone told you that these were brand new records, you would believe them. So without further ado, here's the tracklist for this mix. Enjoy this very soothing House mix on the last day of this horrific year! Theo Parrish - Heal Yourself And Move Planisphere - Greys & Blues The Deep - Silver Surfer (Ambience Mix) Nick Holder - Ambiessence It's Thinking/Hyperion - Frame Of Mind David Alvarado - Devotional Sundiata O.M. & Ron Trent - Paradise Urban Sound Gallery presents African Blues - Sunpower Flabber - Free Flight The Persuader - Strombron Soul Capsule - Lady Science (N.Y.C. Sunrise Mix) Morgan Geist - I Want To Carl Craig presents Paperclip People - The Climax (Dobre & Jamez Remix) D.O,D, (Dance Or Die) - 1,2,3,4 (In The Air Mix) Mr James Barth - Lonely Blues (No Taboo's) Moodymann - Tribute (Foreverevermore) Nightmare On Wax - A Case Of Funk Neil Landstrum - She-Ra Extra Speaker Pop Now. You might look at this tracklist the way I did, and wonder who all these people are. I did look at them and thought the same. Not heard or seen most of these names before. But trust me, for once, you don't need to give a single shit about who made what and when. It's about the music, and this mix is so fucking deep, and nasty from time to time. I've really enjoyed this mix, and recommend this to everyone who loves relaxing and deep House music. Yes, there might be small mixing errors here and there, but nothing major. Which record blew me away the most? 'Silver Surfer' is really a cool record. I closed my eyes, and thought for a second I was in a different universe. So relaxing and so awesome this record. Whoever made this mix, you have made the last day of 2020 so much better! Fuck 2020, let's celebrate in style. House style! • Rave-O-Lution Mixtape #004 - Fer-D (2020)

It is the 28th of December, and we are now in the period between Christmas and NYE, when all the Christmas radio stations disappear slowly. Now that's a good and bad thing at the same time: our household has been listening to Christmas music since April. So to catch a break from it, is extremely pleasant. But what to play instead of Christmas music? Maybe Hardcore music fits the bill? Well, yeah. And I think I have found the perfect mix for all you rave nutters out there. I thought at first that this mix series was the one presented by UK Hardcore DJ Jakka-B, who's got a similar named show. But this isn't. This is a Dutch mix series with the same name, And with their fourth instalment they asked DJ Fer-D to make a mix. A mix so good, and vinyl only. And it should only contain early Hardcore anthems. Whats not to like? You all know that this Crazy Dutchman loves his Hardcore, and is no stranger to the early 90s stuff, but today's mix contains so many unheard of anthems, it might have given me a secret erection! How can it be that after so many years I do hear new tracks, which shouldn't be new in the first place? Of course I wouldn't mind a set filled with dancefloor smashers, but to hear these obscure underground anthems does make me smile too. And maybe even rave harder? Come on, can you sit still with tracks like these (see tracklist underneath)? You can't. I've not heard of DJ For-D before, but this mix has certainly raised my interest in him. This is a dope ass mix! Future Viper - Paranoid Beauty Nightraver - If You're Smart Chosen Few - Tranceparant Cyclopede - Bad Motherfucker Queens Boro Crew - Criminal Minded Wedlock - Ganjaman Predator - 1-2-3-4 !!! Drokz - Aids F. Sales - Monological Destruction Choose - Light Removal Cybernators - No Out Of Here.. Chosen Few - I Show Trickz Dark Destination - Pom Pom Unknown Artist - MJ's Childs Play (Chosen Few Remix) DJ Dano - Fuckem All (Driveby Mix) Lenny Dee - Forgotten Moments (Original Mix) Bruyaa & Ozonic - Peace To Eazy Bunkor Beats - Mental Atmosphere Omar Santana - Step The Fuck Back (Lenny's Demonic Dee Mix) Dutch Verg - Hyper 2000 Federation Against Mellow - R U On Drugs? DJ Jordens vs Flamman & Abraxas - Sarin It is nice to hear and see these classic anthems again. Most of them we all have forgotten about. And that's a shame. They were, and still are, fucking epic anthems! Come on, you know I am not lying! You don't see most of these records in other mixes, right? Only when people start digging deep in their music collection will they find these hidden gems. Fer-D has gained a new follower. I am a huge fan of this mix. It's really an ace mix with shit tons of excellent Hardcore anthems. Some sound familiar, and some have got this distinctive sound to it, I cannot place them where I've heard them, but I do recognise them. For example the Nightraver's 'If You're Smart'. I do hear the 'So' record in this one, but I've never heard this one before. A fantastic mix. So many cool anthems. This takes me back to the early years of the 90s. It's like I've jumped onto a time machine, and now I'm back in my bedroom, hearing these tracks for the first time, and sadly being too young to go out raving. Some are wicked, and a few aren't. Not a fan of the Michael Jackson's influenced track. But which one did tickle my senses the most? Dutch Verg with 'Hyper 2000'. I think, and I might be completely wrong, I've heard this for the first time on a Lady Dana mix CD. Could be wrong of course. Or what about Chosen Few's Tranceparant? Yes, the other Chosen Few track we all know gets played over and over, but this one is slightly better! Name Of The DJ? Nah, give me 'Tranceparant' instead! Anyway, don't let me yapping on and on be a nuisance. Jump on this mix right now, and let this vinyl only mix dominate the end of 2020. • X-Mas Paradise (1995)

Happy Boxing Day everyone! I hope you had a wicked day. I have to say that this year has been a weird year, and Christmas certainly ain't a different day, compared to the rest of the year. We've all been indoors for quite some time, and now with Christmas you are bound indoors. You aren't going anywhere, nor are you seeing anyone either. So when you are sitting indoors, why not have a bit of fun? You could sit like zombies behind the TV and watch utter crap, or you could join me, and listen to something you probably haven't heard or seen before. A CD so obscure, it made me jingle my balls. Yesterday I reviewed the Thunderdome X-Mas CD, and I think it was last year I reviewed the Rave The X-Mass CD, but the CD I have found on Youtube will blow your mind away. Up until earlier this morning I did not even know of its existence! X-Mas Paradise, released by ID&T back in 1995! Have you ever seen this? Have you got this in your collection? I certainly have never ever seen this CD or its cover before. And my memory when it comes to CD covers is great. How come this has never been presented to me in any way, shape or form? As I said in the previous review, the Christmas Hardcore style has never really caught on, and it has slowly died. But it seems that there were a few albums made over the years that I've not seen before. This 'X-Mas Paradise' is one of them. Falsely advertised as a Thunderdome CD on Youtube to maybe get more clicks, but this isn't one Thunderdome CD. The way the CD cover and rear looks, it looks more like the ID&T '95 CD compilation. But obviously focussed on Christmas. Is this yet another bad CD, a cheese fest? Well, in 1994 it was still in development, and if you compare the 1994 sound to the 1995 sound, it already sounds extremely outdated. It was obviously the year Happy Hardcore gained a huge cult following, so expect not only Gabber/Hardcore tunes, but also a few Happy Hardcore anthems. Still cheesy though. It had a few well known names behind the records, like DJ Sim, Critical Mass, The Beatsquad, Promo, 3 Steps Ahead, The Prophet, and many, many more. So, are you ready for something special? Fuck the TV, turn that shit off, and check this out! DJ Sim - Christmas Collage The Jingle Brothers - Scary Christmas Daster & Dancer - A Happy X-Mas Day The Beatsquad - X-Mas Breaks DJ Waxweazle - War Is Over DJ E-Rick & Tactic - Silent Nights Are Over DJ Promo & Da Vinci - Last Christmas 3 Steps Ahead - X-Mas Bonfire Stuffed Turkey - Season To Be Jolly The Ender - 199Sex Rospell - Wonderfull X-Mas Gabba Claus & Rudolf Ravedeer - Merry Mutha Fxxkin X-Mas Silent Jesus - Oh Christmas Day Psylocke - Santa Claus Is Coming Well, wouldn't you Adam and Eve it! Another Hardcore Christmas CD! You were so not ready for this. And as bad as they might sound, they are still funny as fuck! You might want to sit down, and relax, before you press play! I was not ready to hear this album on Boxing Day, or second Christmas Day, as we call it in the Netherlands. ID&T's back catalogue has become more interesting. I am so curious to find out what else they have released and not heard before, or not yet discovered. Their path was slightly unclear, but they did assemble themselves after, and focussed on only that which made them money. And what obviously the raving community wanted. I think. 1994 was a great year for Hardcore, but 1995 is more my year. You can clearly hear the difference between the previously reviewed Thunderdome CD and this one. The music evolved. A bit more sophisticated. With a jolly undertone. I have to say, and don't get me wrong, but I am happy that Hardcore moved away from this awfulness. This is kind of bad. Some of these records are cool, and if you 'remove' the Christmas references, the tunes wouldn't be ignored by the Gabber community, but some are just fucking bad. To give two examples: 'Wonderful X-Mas' by Rospell. Sweet Lord, it's bad. Or 'Merry Mutha Fxxking X-Mas' by Gabba Claus and Rudolf Ravedeer (original names though). What an awful record. But then on the other hand you've got big hits, like 'X-Mas Breaks' by the Beatsquad (love the Beatsquad!), 'Silent Nights Are Over' by E-Rick & Tactic. Or what about Sim's record. Boy, I seriously miss DJ Sim's input in the scene. He made some stinkers, but the majority are fucking epic. Is this one you definitely need to have? I think this 'X-Mas Paradise' is a collector's item. It is as bad as the previously released and reviewed Christmas CDs. But it would be nice to own this. And to play once a year. Preferably around Christmas. If anyone knows of other Christmas Hardcore CDs that I haven't covered yet, please leave a comment below! Merry Mutha Fucking X-Mas everyone! • Thunderdome - The X-Mas Edition (1994)

Happy Christmas everyone! I hope today is a good day for you all, and you've got people around you who love you, and you share this day with all them and stay safe, showing the finger to COVID. And if you are into Hardcore music and you are a tad fucked up by the amount of Christmas tunes coming at you via your TV, radio, or social media, let me introduce you to 1994's Hardcore edition of the legendary Thunderdome CD compilation. A CD dedicated to Christmas. A concept so darn good, it slowly moved into obscurity soon after its release. Now I must admit, Christmas Hardcore can sound absolutely awful. So horrible, it is cringeworthy bad. You would only listen to it once during the year, and it might be Christmas Day itself, you still feel sick inside. So bad. Such a cheese fest, but deep down inside you couldn't give a flying fuck. It's Christmas, and you want to have fun. Why not put a bit of Hardcore into the mix? Stuff the turkey with some Hardcore music, and it should become slightly tastier. It could be that you are not a fan of Hardcore. In that case, please go somewhere else. If you do like Hardcore music, you might want to give this album a go. But I'm guessing you've already heard this album before, right? This is a well sought after album, if you are a Hardcore connoisseur. I don't know the exact amount of albums sold of this specific edition, but I do remember a few years down the line many requested a copy of this, seeing as it is as rare as a blue moon on a Tuesday afternoon. You have to remember that this CD was released during the early years of Hardcore, and no one really knew which direction it was heading to. This could have been the big break, an opportunity. Sadly, it wasn't. Not many Christmas Hardcore CDs were released over the years, and I'm guessing that the reason behind it, is the fact that the music can be seen as cheesy. How cheesy you might ask? Well, just look at the tracklist, and you will know instantaneously how cheesy this CD was/is. The Prophet - Sick Christmas DJ Sim - What You Can Do For Others Lenny Dee & Ralphie Dee - Brooklyn X-Mas Donner & Blitzen - Frosty's Dance Adropin Project by Genlog - Silent Night Alec - Gloria In Excelsis Deo Northpole Gangster - Bethlehem Riot Critical Mass - Let's Be Jolly Buzz Fuzz - ... And A Wappie New Year The Silverbelly's - Santa Comes Tonight Funny Gabber Freaks - A White X-Mas Scott Brown - Megaloid PCP - Holy Jungle Mess Ilsa Gold - Euter Of Vienna X-Mess - X-Bell Simstim - Back To Bethlehem Buzz Fuzz - Christmas Can Be A Bitch Sometimes 3 Steps Ahead - It's X-Mas The Prophet - Gabba Bells You see, just looking at the tracklist you can spot a similarity. The titles can be extremely cheesy. So wrong, but oh so right. I don't know how to explain it. Maybe it's because of the fact that today is Christmas, and it is so suitable. The rest of the house are listening and watching TV, and I don't want to. I'd rather listen to Christmas tunes. Hardcore Christmas tunes to be precise, It is nice to see that they tried in 1994 to make this work. Some big names do appear, like Buzz Fuzz, 3 Steps Ahead, The Prophet, Lenny Dee, DJ Sim, Critical mass, PCP, Scott Brown, Ilsa Gold, and more. Again, this was before Hardcore exploded, and became all around us. It was an experimental phase. And as funny and cheesy as it might have been, these producers probably did their best to make their tune as fucking hard as hard can be. And festive at the same time! But are the tunes any good? Well, yes and no. Some tracks are so horrible, it makes your ears bleed. But on the other hand, some are just pure awesome. The Silverbelly's' song for example. Perfect record. Or what about X-Mess' 'X-Bell'? Limited Christmas influences, but still good enough to rave to during the festive season. I only ever owned two Christmas Hardcore albums, this one, and the Rave The X-Mass CD. Both equally as good/bad. Depends on how cheesy you want your music to be. Do you want to rave hard? This might not be your thing. If you want to rave and have a laugh at the same time, and take life not so serious for roughly an hour? This might be your thing. Merry Christmas everyone, and have fun! Stay safe. And don't forget: Christmas Hardcore, not just for Christmas. But awkward when played throughout the rest of the year. • Dano @ Mayday - The Raving Society - 1994

It is 1994. I was only 11. Germany was the epicentre of the raving world. 34.000 people attended the Mayday event, which was called 'The Raving Society'. The line up is one you can only dream of: Westbam, DJ Dick, Marusha, Laurent Ho, DJ Edge, Tofke, Luke Slater, Mike Dearborn, Frankie Jones, Dave Clarke, Andy Dux, Jens Mahlstedt, Tommy Yamaha, Members Of Mayday, Q-Tex, Acid Scout, Pravda Tract, CJ Bolland, Phrenetic System, RMB, and Raver's Nature. Now that's a line-up you wish you could attend in 2020. But hey ho, we all know COVID is a son of a bitch, so we can only reminisce, and listen to the good ol' days. I think there is a video on Youtube for this event, but I'm not sure. But if you are really that desperate, there must be something for you to quench your thirst. Maybe this set by DJ Dano might be the thing you were looking for, on this Christmas Eve? So I only found this set the other day. Didn't even know Dano played at this event. but I'm not a walking Wikipedia page, so there we go. But this is a set of the mighty legend Dano. He's been within the scene since the early days, and has left a mark on the scene. I was happy to find this mix, and hopefully it is one you really want to hear too? The set contains the finest Early Hardcore music. But they probably didn't call it Early: for them it was normal Hardcore. But it was Hardcore, no doubt about it. It was rough, it was hard, and it was all mixed together, live. So which tracks were selected by Dano to please the Mayday fanatics? Shades Of Rhythm - Grass Hopper Hiroshima - Cyanide DJ Gizmo & The Dark Raver - We Got The Juice The Scotchman - Asylum Brothers In Crime - Let Me Suck Your .... Lord Of Hardcore - Go Bezerk Q-Tex - E-Creation ('94 Mix) Dano - 120 - 9000 BPM Zong II - Tangoa (Club Mix) The Scotchman - Life Force Sonicdriver - Lethal Breaks Brothers In Crime - Drop Da Beat Sonicdriver - Manic Insanity Stingray - Power Of Darkness Sonicdriver - Back The Scotchman - Mind Transfer George Vagas meets Mike D - Hyperdome Wow. Proper early Hardcore vibes. And you can also hear the crowd loose themselves fully. Can't believe this set is 26 years old! Anyway, let's talk about the set. Yes, this is way before the world we live in, and the technology we have. This is all during the days when vinyl was the only option. Or maybe even tapes. But I'm guessing Dano used vinyl, not tapes. And the set contains a few errors. But would your set be flawless, when you have got limited technological advantages, and you play for thousands of mad ravers? I wouldn't think so. The set is only 45 minutes long, but within those 45 minutes, ravers are pushed to their limit. Especially when Dano plays his big hit '120-9000 BPM'. You know you will get a beating when he plays that monster anthem. I do miss the early sound. And as good as these tracks were, they do remind me that we are moving away further and further from these majestic sounding records. Time flies by too fast. • DISCWOMAN 94 x Kilbourne (2020)

I am always eager to learn, and only a handful of days I got to 'know' this new name, and the name is Kilbourne. If you are like me and think that it sounds like a Scottish medieval clan, you might be right. But in the present day environment, it's not. It's this DJ from Brooklyn, USA, and she loves her music hard and rough. And not just hard, but I mean fucking hard. There's no limit to her enthusiasm for Hardcore and everything in it, and for this mix for DISCWOMAN she goes all out. An hour and a half, full of Kilbourne's love of everything hard. Schranz? Check. Industrial Hardcore? Check. US Hardcore? Check. From Techno to Hardcore, Kilbourne has got you covered. And I have to say that I do like DISCWOMAN's concept. Only female DJs (or who classify themselves as of female gender), and they get their platform to shine. Don't underestimate the ladies out there, some can kick men in the balls, and show us how it's done. I wasn't familiar with Kilbourne, but she has got a huge following already. You know what that means? A new follower on social media. I am really intrigued, and it's time for you to see the tracklist. Kilbourne - Social Scandal Somniac One - You Don't Belong Kilbourne - Evnika Kilbourne - Razor Eater Sacerdos Vigilia - Gerald Smoked My Pot Ruffneck & Ophidian - The E-ville Kilbourne & Buzzi - Rain Cleanses Varg2™ - Parasites (Honest Music For Dishonest People) Doxa & Kilbourne - Ham Shop Rave Creator - O.K. That's a shame, because Kilbourne shows me that ladies like it rough. And she does her thing well in this mix. It maintains a level of pure insanity throughout this mix. I've not heard of Kilbourne before, but she has gained a fan. I do like the madness. Why so serious, eh? I've got only love to give. This mix is sheer madness, and I'm digging this. I really love Kilbourne's enthusiasm for the harder sounds, and it reflects in this hour and a half long mix. She's dedicated to get us all raving a tad harder. She does not take any prisoners. Make sure you check her out on social media, check out this mix, and a few others she has done recently. I have no doubt you will find them easily. This Brooklyn based DJ has got me hooked. I am in awe of this mix. It's sick, it's weird, it's fucking EPIC. • Marco V - Live @ Club Eau, The Hague 2002

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, another Marco V mix. This time a live set by the legend himself, recorded back in 2002, at Club Eau (or is it Club O?) in the Hague. Never heard of this club before, and if I'm correct, this club does not even exist anymore. Currently in a really appalling state. Or does not exist at all anymore. But thankfully due to the power of the internet, we can be transported back into time, when music and clubbing was so damn cool. And before it all became too bloody expensive. Anyway, if anyone knows this set and when it was recorded, could you maybe add a comment below? Don't know for sure if it was at Club Eau/O, or even if it was in The Hague. Could have been at another location, like Arnhem. I don't blame Marco V, the bloke literally went everywhere, and played everywhere. The early years of the Millennium were definitely his years. His anthems dominated the charts, and are still top notch quality anthems. Hence why I saw this set and thought 'I have to share this with everyone'. Obviously later that year I would hear Marco V live at Innercity, and that night Innercity blew me away. I am a huge fan of the Millennium sound, and one of the top producers of those years has got to be Marco. His productions are just so damn awesome, and timeless. But for this liveset he hasn't just picked his own records, but a few records I have even forgotten about. You know them, the second you hear the first beat, bass, or vocal section, and you are like 'damn, haven't heard that in years!'. There are a few of those in this set. Time flies too damn fast. Marco V - The Mutalisk Marco V - Simulated (Original Mix) Faithless - Tarantula (Hiver & Hammer Remix) The Green Martian - End Of The Earth (2002 Remake) Marco V - My Acid Pacemaker Mauro Picotto - Awesome Marco V - Godd Tomaz Filterheadz vs Latin Loopworks - Mi Casa Es Su Casa Poltertec - Makumania Marcel Woods - Drama Trance Allstars - Lost In Love 2002 (Sunbeam Remix) Cosmic Gate - Exploration Of Space (DJ Shredda Remix) Marco V - Revolt As much as I love big events, I do miss going out to smaller clubs. Those were the golden locations for dance lovers during the early 90s to the early 2000s. You would even find big names coming to your club, and even though that club might be the shittiest of them all, they would be there. In South Limburg we had a few, and they had a few big names playing, but as good or as bad as they were, they have left a long lasting impression. Marco V is a legend on its own, and this set he shows again why he dominated during the 2000s. Just look at this fucking tracklist, and be in awe of the records he has selected. From a few of his own to others by Faithless, Cosmic Gate, Marcel Woods, Mauro Picotto, and more. His selection is excellent, and even though the sound quality isn't the best, you can still hear and feel what everyone felt when they heard Marco V play in front of them. It is nice to find a set so good, it makes you wish you had the capability to go back into time. The music was so damn good. But which of these 13 records is the best? Well, it's the one I completely forgot about, but it still packs a punch: 'Makumania' by Poltertec. Wowsers, what a wicked anthem. A wicked set. Let this be your guide on this boring and cold Sunday. Let Marco take you on a journey, back to 2002. He knows exactly how to please the listeners. Thanks rave_on for this set! • Altern8 - Rejuven8tion - 30 Min Oldskool Acid Mix (2012)

For those that follow this blog for a few years now, you might remember seeing this review a few years back. I think I did review this 8 years ago. Not my first review, but certainly not the last. But it was the one that quickly got people's attention to my website. Sadly the old website ain't active anymore, so I can only tell you the story of the review, but I've got no evidence. What happened in 2012 has sadly stayed in 2012. When I first discovered this mix, I was fully blown away by it. Obviously every single die hard raver knows about Altern 8, so no introduction is required, but to me Altern 8 has been below my radar. I was too young when they were on top of the world, back in the early days. I missed the whole early rave scene due to my age. I only discovered them online. Maybe I have come across one of their records before on a mix CD, but I would have remembered that, if I'm honest. This mix contains 7 of their biggest records. Mixed by Ell Hawkes. And when I heard it for the first time, I was just so happy. This kind of rave music was so fresh, so uplifting, and so damn dope. I do love a bit of oldskool, me. I've not met anyone who dislikes the early stuff. If anyone exists who doesn't like rave music, do one son. Altern 8 obviously meant a lot to the UK raving community back in the days, and these 7 records have without a doubt been played at many underground events, in warehouses, big fields, or discos. I reckon that the tracklist won't surprise you, but it will make you smile. Or is that because of the Vicks? Altern 8 - Move Your Body Altern 8 - Infiltrate 202 Altern 8 - Frequency Altern 8 - E-Vapor-8 Altern 8 - Activ8 Altern 8 - Hypnotic St8 Altern 8 - Armageddon Now before anyone get's annoyed, I am not 100% sure it's written as Altern 8. Is it Altern8, or Altern-8? I've been on several pages, and I'm getting more and more confused. At least you know which duo I'm talking about. The mix is only half an hour long, but it packs a punch. A punch I wouldn't mind absorbing. I am truly in awe of the early work of Altern 8. Timeless rave classics. They had success during the first few years of the 90s, and sadly quit the game. Whatever the reason might have been for the duo splitting, they have left a permanent mark on a whole generation. A generation that could not have raved as hard as they did without the banging tunes of Altern 8. Now, that's a statement and a half, but I'm sure millions of ravers agree. And not only have they made some excellent tunes, but they have also influenced many artists. Their style remains unique. Fresh. And full of Vicks. I do like the rave sound that they had in each of their records, and it is so early 90s sounding. But in a strange way, it's timeless. Well thought of production skills by Altern 8. Some are obviously more 'dancefloor' friendly, and some are just underground classics. I love the darkness in 'Frequency'. I love the madness of it. I can picture myself being surrounded by lasers in a fucking field, with the rozzers coming for me, because I attended an illegal rave. Why wasn't I born a few years earlier? All 7 records are classics, and will remain part of our raving culture. Nicely mixed by Ell Hawkes. And it has even got a comment by the mighty Mark Archer! If you are into Altern 8, make sure you check out their album. Nostalgia galore. And make sure you check out their latest release. Altern 8's first release since 1993! I might have experienced a different era within the raving culture, but at least I'm not too old to learn from the good ol' days. The days I sadly missed due to my age. • q100 x FatKidOnFire (FKOFd048 Promo) Mix (2020)

It is Dubstep Tuesday. Or is it Wednesday? I cannot keep up anymore, 2020 needs to be done with. And quickly, too! But until the 31st hits us, let's enjoy our evening with some nice Dubstep. And it's a brand new mix, which I have found on FatKidOnFire's Soundcloud page. You know, the one that made that wicked Dubstep mix I reviewed a few months ago. The Coki mix. And boy, it wasn't a few months ago, it was around a year ago and a few months! Fuck, time flies by. I'm not a noob to the whole Dubstep scene, but I am a noob when it comes to the present day Dubstep. I know I should follow it more, and I fully acknowledge the fact that I'm a tad lazy, but I'm out of touch on who makes what in the scene, and who's who, and who's out. Basically I listen to the music, but don't know any gossip stories. Is that bad? Before Coki's mix, I'd never heard of FatKidOnFire. But since that moment on I have regularly checked on mixes on their Soundcloud page. Their latest mix blew me away, and I thought it was about time for me to delve myself back into the wonderful and underrated world we call Dubstep. q100 is the DJ of this month's mix. This bloke is a Dubstep DJ from Estonia. Due to my limited knowledge I cannot provide you with any more information. Maybe we should let the mix speak on q100's behalf? Quoma - ID q100 x PTF1987 - Underdog Atom Dubs x Ylemm - Suspicious Shadow DJYOUNGDEF x PTF1987 - Strapped Like Jap Oddkut - Empty Minds Head Space - Void Slin - Blue Springs Skotcha - After All q100 - Coleslaw Oddkut - Wonderland Oddkut - Deeper (q100 Remix) DJYOUNGDEF - Swangin' Flexin' Dread - The Thinker q100 - Blue Moon q100 - Katch q100 - Yasno q100 x DMG - Oddbells Bisweed - Directions Head Space - Void (Oddkut Remix) q100 - ID Quoma - Don't Touch VIP Bisweed - Haptics q100 - Kose Atom Dubs - Bad Waves q100 - ID q100 x Paranoid One - Five DMG - Sepo PTF1987 - Tallinn Express Slin - Roswell 1947 q100 x PTF1987 - ID q100 - Cuticle q100 x Paranoid One - ID Cotti - Real Hustler (Slin Remix) Bisweed - Screaming Target Head Space - Void (q100 Remix) Ninety - Snake's Kiss VIP I always find it amazing how Dubstep DJs can cram in as many records as humanly possible, and still make it sound smooth and effortless. I know that Dubstep ain't the only style that does that, but come on, they do pull it off. And this mix by q100 ain't no exception. So in this 57 minute long mix you get 36 records. From Dubstep to Grime, all around 140 BPM. And even though I've never heard of q100 not 99% of the artists in this mix, it has peaked my interest, and I've been listening to this over and over for the last 3 days. Dubstep can be messy, Dubstep can be fucking hard, or super deep. And this has got it all. But the main gist is its calmness. This mix, at times, can be very relaxing. So relaxing, I was even dozing off to dreamland. That relaxing. I've got no complaints about this mix. Every single record is fire. And carefully mixed by q100. This mix has gained a huge fan, and his name is TCD (=me). Make sure you head on towards Bandcamp and download this for free! And like whatever there is to like. And obviously, without question, listen to this mix. TCD recommendation for today! • Revokez presents: Headhunterz vs. Wildstylez (2020)

I've been offline for a few days, and during those few days I've been listening to interesting mixes, which you will see and read about in the next few weeks. Some more interesting, due to their uniqueness. And today it is one of those more interesting mixes. A battle mix. A versus mix. The battle between two big players in the Hardstyle scene: Headhunterz and Wildstylez. These are two of the biggest names in the scene, and have contributed a lot to the scene. But, which one is the best? Who makes the best records, is it Headhunterz, or is it Wildstylez? Someone on Soundcloud made this versus mix, who is called Revokez. And the concept is quite cool, and I've not seen a mix like this one in a long time. It's literally back2back2back etc. One record by Wildstylez, next by Headhunterz, next by Wildstylez... you get the idea. And this for roughly 2 hours. 2 hours of Euphoric Hardstyle by two masters of the scene. It is cool to hear this, and it gives the listener a challenge: if you had to pick one, who would you choose? Headhunterz, or Wildstylez? That's quite difficult, if I'm honest. They both know exactly what to make for the Hardstyle fanatics, and most of their tunes are well received. They are such a force to reckon with, they teamed up with each other and formed Project One. And with a few of those records does this mix end. So, let's get back to the question: who would you pick? Here's the tracklist, if you are indecisive. This might help you to form an answer. Headhunterz - Digiwave R3hab vs Vini Vici feat Pangea & Dego - Alive (Wildstylez Remix) Headhunterz - Leap Of Faith Wildstylez - Push That Feeling Headhunterz - Takin' It Back (Live Edit) Wildstylez - Back 2 Basics Headhunterz - From Within Wildstylez & Noubya - Shake The Ground Headhunterz feat Sian Evans - Orange Heart Wildstylez & Ran-D - Warriors Headhunterz - Home Wildstylez & Sound Rush feat Ruby Prophet - Untameable Headhunterz feat Malukah - Dragonborn Part 2 Wildstylez - Timeless Headhunterz feat Sian Evans - The Hunter And The Prey Wildstylez - Children Of Drums Headhunterz feat Sian Evans - Dragonborn Part 3 Wildstylez - Bounce Like This Headhunterz - Destiny Wildstylez - Heartbeat Headhunterz - Dragonborn Part 1 Wildstylez feat E-Life - Run With The Wolves Builder - Her Voice (Headhunterz Remix) Wildstylez - Deeper Than The Ocean Headhunterz feat Tatu - Colors Wildstylez & TNT - Exist Project One - Rate Reducer (Headhunterz Remix) Wildstylez feat KiFi - Into The Wild Headhunterz - Last Of The Mohicans Showtek feat Leon Sherman - Listen To Your Momma (Wildstylez Remix) Project One - Ressurection Project One - Maximum Force (Official Defqon.1 Weekend Festival Anthem 2018) This is a full on tracklist! If you weren't ready for your daily dosage of Hardstyle, you will be right now. You will thank me later for showing you this awesome tracklist. We can all agree that both are excellent producers, and they have made some amazing anthems over the years. But if you had to pick, who's side are you on? If I'm honest with you, I couldn't choose either. I do like both producers. Sometimes I am more drawn towards one, and the next I'm focussed on the other. But both have got the talent to make wicked anthems. You don't believe me? Just check the tracklist above. All, and I do mean all, dancefloor smashers. The mix itself is OK. Does contain a few mixing errors, but that can happen when you are making this mix, this versus mix. A nice mix by Revokez. I do not know if Revokez has done a versus before, but I will surely check Soundcloud to see if there are more. Interesting concept I'd like to see more of. The difficult challenge was to point out my favourite record. It was nearly impossible, but it has to be 'Rate Reducer' by Project One, remixed by Headhunterz. A good concept. A good mix. • The Real Techno Mix 12.0 V2 (2020)

You might be wondering 'why is TCD always playing extremely dark and edgy Techno'? Well, that's because I like my Techno slightly harder and faster. But I do acknowledge the early stuff. But when we talk early stuff, what is actually early stuff? And that's where today's mix comes into play. You see, for those Techno lovers who find the present day Techno too much, this mix might be something you are interested in. All tracks from 1989 to 1991. So yeah, the early stuff. As as much as I can tell, they are German too. Two birds with one stone, anyone? I did grew up with Techno, but only discovered the early stuff years later, when the Techno bubble kind of exploded into multiple styles. But I can say with a hand on my heart that I do only know the most 'well known' Techno anthems from the early 90s. Not these obscure records that Roland_Korg has selected for his mix. My understanding of the German language is limited, but I'm guessing that the comment underneath the mix relates to the present day, it being 'no one knows what the future brings'? That being said, let's focus on the late 80s/early 90s music he has selected. They are obscure. They are proper early sounding records. Proper Techno as we all know them! Let's see these Techno anthems! Scene - The Future Of Music Kattivik - Kosmik Beat (Kattivik Version Mix) Lhasa - Acetabularia Klangwerk - Die Kybernauten Psycho Team - Psycho Techno Bert - Neue Dimensionen Blind Vision - Don't Look At Me (Razormaid Mix) Friends Of Carlotta - Fingerfoc Master Program - Jump Into The Light Hypnopedia - Hypnopedia 666 Data File - Bass Mokanik Technoline - T.I.M.E. (Resolution 606 Mix) Wow, even the tracklist looks German. I do apologise if anyone isn't German who made one of these records, but in a funny way they do look so German. Yes, I am fully aware of certain titles being German like 'Die Kybernauten', 'Neue Dimensionen' etc, but the whole tracklist just looks so late 80s, and German This was from an era when music was evolving, and with these 12 records you do hear elements which are used in 'future' records. These records set the bench mark for future records, and they are being sampled over and over again. Testimony that the music is timeless. Would I loose myself completely on the dancefloor in 2020, when I hear these anthems? I would say no. Sadly these records are too 80s/early 90s. Too soft at certain times. Cool, no doubt about that. But sometimes a bit too dull. I wouldn't even know how to dance to this kind of Techno? For me the best way to listen to this, is at home, or when you are driving in your car. So is this mix the ultimate Techno mix? Sadly not. The records are OK, some memorable, and some forgettable. And sadly there are a few mixing errors, but nothing major. Maybe I am a bit too young to understand the early Techno sound? Still nice to hear a mix that is dedicated to the early Techno sound. I shall delve into this kind of Techno more often. I promise. The coolest record in this mix has to be 'Hypnopedia'. This is packed with 80s nostalgia. Maybe the only good track I could dance too? • Interstitial Exploration 27 (2020)

It's Sunday, the day of our Lord. The day we should relax. While we are living in uncertain times, we do need to have at least one day of the week to ourselves, and for some it might be another day, but for me it's definitely Sunday. It's the day of the week when nothing happens. So use that day to wind down, and chill. And today's entertainment is a mix filed with chilled down Drum and Bass. And it's by someone with an unusual artist name.... Buddhafinger. Never heard of this artist before. Nor have i ever heard of this mix series before, called 'Interstitial Exploration'. Don't even know what it means. Yeah yeah, before you make fun of me, just call me the thick Dutchman from now on. Let's get back to the mix. So this mix contains Drum & Bass in various forms. From Dark and edgy to the more liquid type of Drum and Bass. But obviously the main focus of this mix is to wind down, so you will feel relaxed throughout this hour and 4 minute long mix,. I wouldn't say I'm a DnB connoisseur, but I do my fare share of it. But the names in this mix don't ring any bells whatsoever. If you recognise any of these, well, good for you. Here's the tracklist, if you want to have a chilled Sunday afternoon... Ink & Loomis - Athena Tellus feat Akuratyde - Down River Oliver Yorke - Helion Blocks and Escher - Broken (Paradox Remix) Wreckless - The Morning Kid Drama - Thoughtcast 7 Kit Curse & Esc.Ape - 2049 Akuratyde feat Tellus - Tides (Margai's Kid Remix) Inmachinewetrust - Apnoe Furi Anga - When Our World Jaded (Seba Remix) Yin Yang Audio - Transformation Krust - Tree Of Life Antagonist - The Essence Fortune - Intervention Sieren - U8 RQ - Tombstone Chips Tellus - Charge Now, you see, even though I don't know any of these artists, the mix has sparked my interest in each of these artists. The music is tight, and extremely relaxing. And the hour does fly by: I have been playing this mix over and over, and I can't even tell how many times I've heard this mix today. It's been on a loop constantly. Buddhafinger, how silly the name might sound, has made a very cool and chilling mix. If you are a tad fed up of listening to the radio playing Xmas tunes over and over, or cheesy pop tunes that are mind numbingly bad, why not check this mix out? I would recommend it, but you have to like Drum and Bass. If you don't, you might not like this mix. Sorry for that. I can go on, commenting and making irrelevant comments, but I won't. I will let the music speak for itself. A fantastic mix by Buddhafinger. Exactly what I wanted to hear on this dreary, cold, and rather miserable Sunday afternoon. Enjoy it as much as I have. • DJ Rush | Boiler Room Rotterdam (2018)

Roughly two and a half years ago there was a party in Rotterdam, and on the line-up they had a DJ called Rush. If you are unaware of who he is, and what he's capable of, don't worry: you will be able to find more information online. And even information you really weren't ready for: according to Wikipedia, he's 1.98 m tall! Who knew? Not only a giant in the Techno scene, but also a giant in 'real' life. I don't need to explain the concept we all know called Boiler Room. An artist performing with fans of the music close to them. In this case it was DJ Rush surrounded by a lot of Techno fans, who were really 'aving it. The DJ is the center of attention for the crowd, and you get this more 'personal' experience, reminiscent of the early days of underground clubbing/raving, way before the big events took over. During his set in Rotterdam, DJ Rush went in hard. So hard, during his set the camera right in front of him couldn't handle the bass, and the camera keeps on shaking constantly. It gives this set an extra dimension. And the huge grin on Rush's face shows that he enjoyed himself. And the crowd did so too. You can see hands in the air, the DJ having a great time, and he takes the crowd on an unknown journey. And the journey, ladies and gentlemen, is fucking hard as nails. If this set doesn't get you fucking dancing, what will? I normally don't like watching videos, because they can be a tad awkward, and I really need to 'like' the artist for me to sit down and absorb a whole set. DJ Rush is one of those DJs, and this set was seen by me in full in full awe. Too much wicked anthems crammed in an hour and a half. And Rush takes us on a dark and edgy Techno journey. And during this journey he shows us why he's an icon in the Techno scene. Here's the tracklist. Tom Wax - I Wanna See You Bang (Olivier Abbeloos Remix) Atze Ton - Sens Peja - Swango (Tom Hades Remix) Darpa - To The Headquarter Mark Broom - Dank (Dave Simon Remix) Paesky - Suechtig (Original Mix) Dolby D - Demoniak (Original Mix) Champas, Synthetik & Atze Ton - Gear (Atze Ton Remix) 0010X0010 - Stranded On Neptune Einhorn - Radius Bjoern Willing - The Change (Mike Maass & Matt Mus Remix) Monolock - One Man Dream Boiling Energy - Techno Backstab Artcore (Techno) - Above The Lines So. That's a tracklist that doesn't do a single thing for me. I don't know a single artist on this list. But is it really relevant? Nope, not really. As long as the music is ace, shut up and dance people! And Rush knows exactly how to get everyone dancing. I've never been to a Boiler Room event, but I wouldn't mind going to one. If it's as wicked as Rush's set, I will be in paradise. DJ Rush shows everyone how to create a perfect set He shows the rookies and the youngsters that with age comes experience. And with an hour and a half long set you don't need 39029525 records: a handful will do. And a lot of input by the DJ himself. You can see the crowd enjoying themselves, and no cellphones were visible. Maybe there's a door policy that no mobile phones are allowed, but hey ho, it creates this authentic experience. Like what most of us went through during the 90s and early 2000s. A good and honest crowd: as a DJ you can see the feedback immediately. And this crowd in Rotterdam are enjoying this set by the mighty Techno King. There wasn't a single moment dull. I've really enjoyed this epic set. DJ Rush took me on this journey, and I enjoyed it. Am I entitled to call this one of the best Techno sets ever? What do you think? Just listen to this set and tell me what you think of it. I can only give it the highest score available. Why? Because it's a fucking insane set. A masterpiece on how to entertain Techno enthusiasts. Ps. if you know the full tracklist, that would be appreciated. These were the only tracks I could find online.
