  • DJ Ruffneck - MOH Radio Millennium Signature Mix (2021)

The other day I was scrolling through Facebook during my lunch break, and I saw this new mix being talked about. The mix was made by the legend himself, DJ Ruffneck. And how funny it is: I was listening to a Ruffneck interview the other day, and now I'm listening to a mix he made for Masters of Hardcore radio. A lot of things I am hearing lately is focussed around this Hardcore/Artcore legend. A pioneer, and definitely one who has received a lot of praise from the Hardcore community. Someone who puts a lot of effort in the scene, and has remained a definite force behind many productions. For this mix they asked him to dig up a few of the Millennium classics. And his list is as good as you would expect it to be. Ruffneck made this mix, and it contains the records you were all waiting for. Some completely forgotten, but justified to be in such a mix. And of course he had to play a few of his own records. Who wouldn't do that? One of the first things you would do as a DJ/producer. But it's always nice to hear a mix with records you haven't heard in many years. And without a doubt he has selected records by the biggest names in the scene: Ophidian, Evil Activities, Angerfist, G-Town Madness, E-Noid-Dione, Amnesys, and more. A very interesting mix, judging it by looking at the tracklist alone. The Millennium era was so magnificent. So damn good. The music became so much more civilised, much more my style. MOH were the main label I was focussing my attention on, and I bought many of their compilations. And it's nice to hear that Ruffneck played a few of those signature tunes for his set. They had a MOH sound to it. Don't know how else to describe it. Now it's time for you to have a butchers at the tracklist. And it's a glorious thing to behold. Prowler feat T-Junction - Hollow Points Nitrogenetics - Demonist Our Fears Evil Activities - Evilution E-Noid - Liquid Super D Ruffneck & Ophidian (as Enzyme X) - Blood Omen Angels Of Darkness - The Scorpion King Ruffneck & Ophidian - Shades Of Desperation Dione - Confusing M.F.'s Ruffneck & Ophidian - All The Way Down Dione - The Storm Ruffneck & Sei2ure - Armageddon G-Town Madness & The Viper - Envy Ruffneck & Ophidian - So Many Sacrifices Amnesys - Elevation Ruffneck & Endymion - Justice Tha Playah vs Evil Activities - Imperial Angerfist - Radical Ruffneck & Dione - Hellburner Tha Playah - Walking The Line Evil Activities - No Place To Hide Yes mate. Just what I wanted to hear. Proper Millennium tracks. And a few obscure. None mainstream classics. Leave it up to Ruffneck to please the listeners. And bless him for uploading this set onto Soundcloud. Proper Millennium vibes here. I'm sitting in my living room with goosebumps. Can't believe these tracks are already classified as 'old'. Time has flown by. He knows exactly what to play, and with this set he proves yet again that he's an amazing DJ and producer. But we already knew that, didn't we? His selection of anthems are solid as a rock, and they are mixed together beautifully. Only love and appreciation for Ruffneck's latest mix. So many great anthems from a long lost decade. Music has changed slightly, but sometimes I wish we could go back in time. With this mix you are back in the early 2000s. And with one underrated anthem he has pleased me a lot: 'The Scorpion King'. What a beast of an anthem. You don't hear this one very often, but when you do, it blows the roof up! Check it out, if you can find the time. You must, and you shall. • Tha Dodge Jr - Remember 3 Steps Ahead & More (2015)

The other day I was searching for some good music on Amazon Music, but couldn't find anything. I really wanted to hear some Gabber/Hardcore music, but it was difficult to find some. I thought 'why not just name an artist from the 90s, see if Amazon recognises the name?'. And the name was 3 Steps Ahead. How funny is that? This whole streaming stuff is new to me, but it's cool to find the music you were hoping for. But be warned: if you ask Alexa for Hardcore, Hardcore Techno, or Gabber, you won't get what you want to hear. Obviously when I heard the legendary anthem 'Gangster (Feel So Good)', I had to go onto Soundcloud to find a mix with this record in it. And sadly there weren't that many. Don't know why, seeing as it's truly a wicked anthem. From my youth this track is. It has so many memories, but not just that one: a lot of Peter-Paul Pigmans records have remained in my top 100 Hardcore anthems-list. I might not have agreed with his livesets (too much screaming going on), but judging his records on a producer level, it is top notch. And fucking weird from time to time: just check his Junkie 4 Life album. Truly weird. 3 Steps Ahead was and still is a legend to many oldskool Hardcore fans. Sadly he passed away too young, but his legacy lives on. And Tha Dodge Jr's mix contains a few of 3 Steps Ahead's biggest hits. Not just his records, but also a few others, from the same era. So it all blends in nicely. What to expect from this mix? Well, you can expect to hear these records: Diss Reaction - Jiieehaaaa 50% Of The Dreamteam - Freddy's Revenge (..Rock You All) DJ Delirium & Guitar Rob - The Way That We Rocked It (Live In NYC) M-Jay & Dan-Vee - Burning Up DJ Delirium & Guitar Rob - Speakermurder Twin Terror - No Colours Anymore 3 Steps Ahead - Hakkuh (Original Mix) 3 Steps Ahead - Gangster (Feel So Good) 3 Steps Ahead - Gabbers Unite (Long Mix) 3 Steps Ahead - In The Name Of Love 50% Of The Dreamteam - The Thundertheme (The Prophet Remix) DJ Psycangle - Smile Fuck Up 3 Steps Ahead - Money In My Pocket DJ Chosen Few - Name Of The DJ (Original Mix) 3 Steps Ahead - Drop It (The Ender Mix) DJ Weirdo & Dr. Phil Omanski - Young Birds (3 Steps Ahead Mix) It is a nice looking tracklist. Not only 3 Steps Ahead tracks, but a few others too. Some extremely cheesy, but remember: those were the 90s. And they were glorious years. So many great songs, so many great DJs and producers. And of course, we still had 3 Steps Ahead. RIP. The DJ behind this mix made a very diverse mix. Not a fan of a few records, like 'Freddy's Revenge', 'No Colours Anymore', but the others do put a smile on my face. Especially 'Gangster'. You knew it was going to be my favourite song, right? You read this review from the first to the last letter, and knew I love this record. Is it 3 Steps Ahead's best record? Do you agree or disagree? A solid mix, with a few exceptions here and there. The sound quality differs from time to time, and the mixing can be a tad sloppy, but all in all a nice mix. It gave me the right boost during work yesterday and today, so thanks Tha Dodge JR for this mix. If you are new to 3 Steps Ahead, worth listening to his albums. Such a diverse and unique character in the Hardcore scene, truly missed. • Headhunterz - Tribute Mix by Scantraxx (2019)

Let me explain something: I am weird. And I am fully aware of it. I am a certified idiot. Classified as a dangerous idiot. And I am happy with it. I live in my own bubble, and happy to live in it. You might be wondering why I am explaining something that most of you lot already know of? Well, I am a music freak. More like a freak with a musical disorder: I need to have music playing at least a few time a day. I cannot live without hearing music. Music is one of the reasons that gets me up in the morning, and keeps me going through the day. And thanks to my little girlfriend Alexa I am able to listen to music in each room of the house. And roughly an hour ago I was ironing (how interesting), and wanted to hear some Hardcore music. She didn't recognise it, so I decided to listen to Hardstyle. Guess which record was the first played? Well, it was a track made by none other than Headhunterz! I obviously started to listen to more of his records, and I had to find a mix containing more of his records in here, especially the early stuff too. And while most of Europe are watching the Dutch play (and loose) football, I'd rather listen to excellent music. And hearing Headhunterz, that sparks the Dutchness in me. I am born a Dutchman, and nothing else enlightens my orange heart more than Headhunterz's music. It's got something special, something nostalgic. I feel so blessed to have been born in a country where the harder styles are born/created and embraced. I can't picture myself living in another country, not experiencing the awesome styles we've got in NL. No one seems to capture this feeling more than Headhunterz. His music touches my soul, and makes my orange heart beat faster, harder, and it gives me a lot of happiness. I am a proud Dutchman whenever I hear a Headhunterz song. Obviously not his EDM escapade, but hey ho, he's back. Like he never left. So 2 years ago Scantraxx uploaded a mix onto Youtube, a tribute mix to Headhunterz. And of course is it fucking filled with excellent songs by the legend, the mighty Headhunterz. And before haters start pouring onto this review, let's all agree that he has achieved some significant success within the scene, and we should be proud of what he has created. A whole cult following. He isn't the only Hardstyle artist within the scene, granted. But he's one of the biggest names in the scene, if not the biggest. His achievement should be embraced, and acknowledged, even by the haters. So which records were selected by the Scantraxx crew? Well, these: Headhunterz - The Sacrifice Headhunterz - Psychedelic Headhunterz - The Power Of The Mind (Qlimax 2007 Anthem) Headhunterz - Takin' It Back Proppy & Heady - Summer Of Hardstyle Headhunterz - Scrap Attack (Defqon.1 Anthem 2009) Headhunterz & Wildstylez - Blame It On The Music Headhunterz & Tatu - Colors Headhunterz & Sound Rush feat Eurielle - Rescue Me Headhunterz feat SIAN EVANS - Orange Heart Headhunterz, Wildstylez & Noisecontrollers - World Of Madness (Defqon.1 Anthem 2012) Headhunterz - Oxygen Headhunterz - Rock Civilization Headhunterz - Destiny Headhunterz - From Within Headhunterz & Abject - Scantraxx Rootz Headhunterz, Wildstylez & Noisecontrollers - Tonight Headhunterz - Dragonborn Headhunterz - Hate Or Love It Headhunterz - Subsonic Headhunterz & Sub Zero Project - Our Church And The Netherlands lost. Ok, bye bye. Nothing lost here. The Dutch are probably sulking right now, and I'm sitting here, happy as Larry. Seriously, I care more about music. Headhunterz's mix is what got me through this evening. Instead of hearing the wife screaming and shouting at the TV, I'd rather hear his tunes coming at me through my speakers. Obviously there's more to Headhunterz than just these 21 records. He's made tons more, but Scantraxx just selected these 21, otherwise the mix would be hours long. But those 21 records are truly astonishing records, and are probably my favourite Hardstyle anthems anyway. Well, not all 21, but most of these. So many memorable anthems. These will certainly get you in a better mood. And it will make you wish the lockdown ends sooner than later. We need to rave again: sitting at home behind your PC/laptop isn't the greatest way to experience music. And Headhunterz, you just need to experience his set. That's my goal: to witness a Headhunterz set. I just have to. Thousands of fans, screaming at each song he plays. All melodic Hardstyle anthems. And in a way he just keeps on creating these wicked anthems. Track after track is just pure gold. Seriously, just look (and listen) at the tracklist, and you know what I mean. Solid anthems, come on! So pleased to hear this right now, just what I needed. And 'Our Church' is the perfect record to end the set with. This has got to be my favourite, closely followed by 'Oxygen' (which has got a special meaning to me and the wife). And 'Scrap Attack'. And 'World Of Madness'. And 'From Within'. Don't sulk on the Dutch loosing. Just think of what we have gained by the reintroduction of Headhunterz to the scene. • Daft Punk - Alive 2007

If there's one act I would have loved to have witnessed live, it has got to be Daft Punk. Sadly they are no more. They might have gone separate ways, but they are still with us for the rest of our lives. Daft Punk were trendsetters, and made people with helmets look cool and futuristic. It doesn't matter which country you live in, which side of the world, and how old or young you are: we all know Daft Punk. Some might know them from their early years, and some from when they came back into the top 40 with collaborations with artists such as Nile Rodgers and Pharrell. But we all know them, we all love them, and they introduced the world to French dance music. Love them or hate them, they have achieved tremendous success. And still remained down to Earth, not even knowing who were behind the helmets. But does that really matter? Daft Punk obviously was one of the biggest duos in the world, and have gained a massive cult following over the years. My introduction into their vision of Dance music was back in the mid 90s, when Da Funk and Alive were big hits. But obviously they hit the world by storm with their smashing hit 'Around The World'. That is what made them superstars. And once they released their album 'Homework', I became hooked. I became a fan. By many they are seen as one of the most influential acts in dance music history, and I have to underline that fact. And when I saw their Alive 2007 video appear in one of their music videos, I knew I missed out on one hell of a party. And those that have been, would have experienced a fantastic musical event happening in front of them. And they didn't know it at the time, but they were there at one of the coolest livesets ever. I am now watching the whole set in 2021, and it still gives me goosebumps, even though I haven't been to the event. But just to hear the crowd scream so loud because of their excitement, is just immense. Obviously this was recorded back in 2007, and contains all the big hits from the early years too, which is awesome. And it's roughly an hour and a half long, mashup together nicely. And of course, the main reason why it appeals to so many, are the visuals. If you've not seen the video, go and watch it now. This is super dope. Even for 2021 standards this is one amazing set. The songs they played during their set were obviously from their three albums (Homework, Discovery, and Human After All). Curious which ones they played? Common, you all know these anthems. It's bloody Daft Punk, right? Intro Daft Punk - Robot Rock / Oh Yeah Daft Punk - Touch It / Technologic Daft Punk - Television Rules The Nation / Crescendolls Daft Punk - Too Long / Steam Machine Daft Punk - Around The World / Harder Better Faster Stronger Daft Punk - Burnin' / Too Long Daft Punk - Face To Face / Short Circuit Daft Punk - One More Time / Aerodynamic Daft Punk - Aerodynamic Beats / Forget About The World Daft Punk - The Prime Time Of Your Life / The Brainwasher / Rollin' / Alive Daft Punk - Da Funk / Daftendirekt Daft Punk - Superheroes / Human After All / Rock'n Roll Main Show End: Intermission Daft Punk - Encore (Human After All / Together / One More Time / Music Sounds Better With You) The world was such a different place back then. Yes, the people there had mobile phones, but they had shitty cameras, so they weren't constantly streaming it to social media. People were experiencing a monumental set, a pivotal moment in our lives. Maybe the greatest set ever? Would you go that far, and credit this to the number 1 position? Was and is this still one of the finest sets ever? The people were having it. And they knew each and every song. This was way before their different musical path they followed, and it was so damn cool to hear these mashups they did of their best records. And the legendary pyramid they stood in. And the visuals. Just the whole package was awesome. And I'm regretting not seeing them live. Them and the Prodigy, those were the two names I would have seen live, but sadly that will never happen again. 2021 isn't just shit because of COVID, but it also is the year when Daft Punk decided to end the group, by splitting up. But instead of focussing on what we are missing, let's focus on what they have achieved? From playing without helmets in small clubs, to dominating the charts, and having their own party back in 2007. And winning literally every award on the planet. They have done it all. Did they make music for a film? Yes. Did they make their own film? Yes. Did they inspire many upcoming artists? Yes. In short, they gave us something to dance to, and music so catchy, it will outlast us all by millions of years. If aliens land on Earth, we need to give them a Daft Punk album. They do speak on behalf of us all. And yet their music carried multiple messages, forgotten by the majority of people. And what about their message, why they wear helmets? It's to focus on the music, and not the people behind the act. They have done a remarkable job, and we should embrace what they have done for us, humans after all, and not what we are missing. A fanfuckingtastic set. I wish I could go back in time and see them perform. I would give my all to experience it. I grew up with Daft Punk, and they are of such importance to me, you wouldn't have a clue. Their music didn't just reach me, but the whole world. And showed the world that their approach to music was the way forward. Their music was groundbreaking. And even in 2021 their music matters. Each song had a powerful message behind it. But obviously the main message was: to dance until you drop. And sing their anthems out loud. There are simply too many records to choose from, and call my favourite. This whole set has been extraordinary, and I would like to nominate them all. Each record is just epic, and even their mashed mashups are awesome. I just freaking love Daft Punk. Thanks Daft Punk for creating memories. And reminding us of who we are. • Liza 'N' Eliaz - Jet Propulsion Mix (1993)

As someone who appreciates Hardcore music, there's always stuff to explore, and to learn. And today was such a day. Of course have I heard of Liza N Eliaz, but never heard a mix by this DJ before. Today is my first introduction into the magical world of Liza, who sadly passed away back in 2001. I think I only came across a track in the early days, but then nothing until 2021. But there's an interesting back story to this DJ, and if you are intrigued, go to Discogs and you'll find more information. For now, let's focus on this cassette, released back in 1993. And before you start thinking 'what kind of music is to be expected?': it's Early Hardcore, of course! The wonderful Soundcloud channel magpie303 had uploaded this only 6 hours ago, and I came across it by accident. But what a wonderful experience it has been, to finally hear a set by Liza N Eliaz. I do remember reading about her in a Thunder Magazine, or was it maybe another magazine? I'm sure it was a Thunder magazine, but correct me if I'm wrong. This Belgian Hardcore/Gabber/Speedcore producer and DJ has been much loved and appreciated. If I only had the pleasure to hear a mix before 2021, eh? I have come across a few records she had done with others such as The Prophet and Dano, but that's all. Maybe I was put off by the fact that she played Speedcore, which isn't my favourite, if I'm honest? Who knows. The good thing about a mix such as this one, is the fact that it's packed with underground anthems. Anthems completely forgotten about. Trust me, you'll look at this tracklist and think to yourself 'haven't heard this one in years!', or even never? I love the early sound, but after checking this tracklist it became apparent to me that I've got a lot to learn, a lot! Here's the tracks used for this tape. And kids, it's a tape, not a CD or an mp3 file. An actual tape... ever seen one? Tilt - The Psycho Whistler Total Output - Wierd ID - ID Somebody From Rotterdam - Atmos The Reanimator - Reanimator Tumor - Tumult Sigma 909 - Terminally Yours Michael White Line feat Armageddon - Crazy ID - ID Vitamin - Alice In Donderland (Liza N Eliaz Mix) Sigma 909 - Heart Beat Reyes - Puffed Up SP23 - Untitled (B2) SPY - Pathogen Assault - Assault On Precinct 001 The Speedfreak - T.S. Dick Neophyte - Viking's Fear Zultan - De Dondergod Comababy - It's Called E SPY - Bloodstrike For all the youngsters reading this blog, let me warn you in advance: before you press play, make sure you put in some ear drum protectors; Hardcore back in the days used to be rough as hell. And no word of a lie there. It is rough, raw, and sometimes unpolished. If you've never heard it before, it might come as a shock. It might even be borderline Terror, but that's just the magic behind the early stuff: it was so new, we had no clue which direction is was going to. Thankfully it went the way we wanted it to go, would have been driven mad hearing this for the last 28 years. Don't get me wrong, I love the early sound a lot, but sometimes it's rough, really rough. And Liza did a remarkable job to get the listener's attention. Starting off at a slow pace, the beats and bass goes slightly up, and it goes manic toward the end. A good build up set, in my honest opinion. It is so damn good to see and hear new music, music that is 28+ years old, but still sounding fresh. And it gives me goosebumps to hear those tunes coming through my speakers. It's like the music is speaking to me, saying 'rave dear boy, rave!'. From the 'happier' side on side A to the rougher side on side B. Or as they called it 'Happy Hard' and 'Abusive & Abrasive' . Everything is on here for the full on Hardcore fanatic. Best record? Oh, that's easy. 'Wierd' by Total Output. So melodic and hard. Just what I like to hear. A fantastic cassette/mixtape, with a funky looking cover. RIP Liza. I shall honour you by doing my research and find more mixes. And you (reader) should do that too. But for now, just enjoy this early Hardcore set. • Sied van Riel - Live @ Crystal Clouds 5th Birthday 29.07.2008

Sied van Riel. One of my favourite Trance DJs and producers. Huge fan from him for many years, and still to this day I am very happy whenever I play one of his albums, or find a mix of his online. He's been quiet lately, or maybe I've missed stuff from him by accident. But when I saw one liveset by the legend being uploaded onto Soundcloud by rave_on, it made me a happy Dutchman. An extremely happy Dutchman. This is a set from way before I started listening to him, or just before. Oh, I am so bad with dates. But Sied van Riel does not need an introduction. If you love Trance music, you love him. The man who resembles Ross from Friends has always intrigued me with his take on Trance music. Very melodic, very straight to the point Trance. And sometimes clinging onto the harder side of Trance, but not hard enough to be classified as Hard Trance. But whatever he makes, it's certainly as good as gold. Come to think of it, I even think that this set, which was recorded back in 2008, was just before I discovered Sied. It was recorded at Crystal Clouds' 5th birthday party, held on the 29th of July. Now, I am not sure where this club/party was held. If you do know, please leave a comment below. And more to the point: where you there? If you were, how was it? How was it to experience Sied? I never had the honour to hear him perform live, so I envy you a lot. A lot. So which tracks did the legend use for his set? Well, these: Sied van Riel - Rush (Trebbiano Remix) Alex Kunnari - Unstable (Mashtronic Remix) Sander van Doorn - Apple Offer Nissim - For Your Love (Sied van Riel Remix) Push - Legacy (Mat Zo Bootleg) The Thrillseekers - The Last Time (Yankle vs Maor Levi Remix) Jap Du Marie - Outsider (Maarten de Jong Edit) Sied van Riel & Claudia Cazacu - Contrasts Amurai vs Saint-Jules - Grand Prix Virtual Vault - Request (Orchestral Mix) Leon Bolier vs Kamaya Painters - Endless Ocean Wave (Leon Bolier Mashup) That just happened. What a wonderful tracklist. So many fond memories to these tracks, and this kind of Trance music. Is it just me, or is Trance just timeless? You tell me if I'm right or if I'm wrong. It is a shame that some tracks aren't played more often. Sied has an ear for good music, and this set is no exception. Full of wicked tracks, including a few of his own. But the general gist is that he picks excellent tracks which might not be known by the general public. And that's certainly not a bad thing. The set is really calm, and relaxing. And so many great songs were selected. Not really a fan of Mat Zo's rendition of Push's 'Legacy' (you just can't top the original), but besides that one, the tracks are just solid. So solid, that I even prefer a remixed version of a Sied classic to be the best of this set.... Of course I am talking about 'Rush', remixed by Trebbiano. Never heard this version before, but what a serious anthem that is! And the following track is also a smashing record: 'Unstable'! A wicked set for this Tuesday, hope you like it as much as I liked it! • Painbringer - Hardcore & Gabber 2020 Mix

A new week has landed. A new week full of 'new' music I had to share with you all. And seeing as the weather is atrocious, I had to start the first review of this week with a bang. A Hardcore bang. And this mix was made by Painbringer back in 2020. As you all are aware, Painbringer makes very fine Hardcore anthems, in style with the sound which was alive back in the 90s. The mix obviously contains extremely hard and rough tracks, most of them made by Painbringer himself, but also made by a few others like M-Project, Omar Santana, Lockjaw, Ruffneck, Arjuna, and more. If you are like me and you want to start the week in good fashion, check this mix out (if you haven't already).... This was originally a promo mix for Early Hardcore Goes Ibiza, an event held in... Ibiza (duh!). And it has had already a lot of plays, and good feedback. 21k+ plays on Soundcloud. And raving reviews. Do I jump the bandwagon and leave only positive critique? I might, I might have that tendency. You know I'm a sucker for everything early related, and when I hear a mix with so many great anthems in there, it just puts a smile on my face, from ear to ear. The records in this set have got a specific sound, I would be inclined to call it Artcore. A style linked to the legendary DJ Ruffneck and his label, and thankfully kept alive by artists such as Painbringer. He brings the heat. A bit of the old, and a bit of the new, all crammed in an hour long mix. 27 records, selected and mixed by the bringer of pain himself. So which records were chosen by Painbringer for this promo mix? Well, these: Painbringer - Hardcore Future Undercover Anarchist - The Craziest Innerchild - The Party Zone Painbringer - Words Of '95 M-Project - Hardcore Maniac DJ Rob & Tim B - Get Set DJ Ruffneck - Massive Painbringer - The Alpha Trickster - Stop The Rhythm Lockjaw - The Point Painbringer - Inner War Cyntex - Freestyle DJ Ruffneck - 20 Bullits To Comply Arjuna - Who's In The House Omar Santana - World Domination The Prodigy - Voodoo People (Pendulum Remix) Painbringer - Everything Or Nothing Painbringer - In Your Memory Painbringer - Carlito's Way Innerchild - Who're You Fucking With Painbringer & MissBehave - Fuck You Up Arvid - Fuck That Feeling Arjuna - You Are A Sucker Enemycore909 - Inferno Reeza - Sanctity Of Life Painbringer - Afterglow Painbringer - Share Your Pain A wonderful tracklist. But you cannot judge a mix just by the tracklist. You have to judge it by listening to it, and that's one of the things I would urge you to do. If you are into early Hardcore music, I surely suggest you check this out. Painbringer is a legend, and knows exactly what the fans want to hear. Even in the year 2021 I still find the early sound so appealing. I cannot live in a world where the early sound does not exist. It just needs to be with me. I was raised during the 90s, and the sound has been so close to my heart. I grew up with it, and that's the sound I'll appreciate until the day I die. And artists such as Painbringer do a brilliant job in keeping it alive. This promo mix is filled with his own productions, so that gives us an insight in his own production capabilities. But trust me when I say that these are excellent. So many wicked anthems. I just love this sound. You just can't imagine how a 37 year old Dutchman can get excited as much as me. The euphoria level has just risen 1000 points after the first second of this mix. And the songs are just absolute bliss. I am not lying. I never lie. Painbringer's own records are top notch. Keeping the old style alive, yet with a twist. And they all sound so nostalgic and euphoric. Just the way I like my Hardcore music. But in this mix I have to give credit to Trickster for the finest record in this mix: 'Stop The Rhythm'. Such a beast of a song! A very fine mix to start your week with. It certainly gave me enough of an energy boost to get me through the week, and make it to Friday in one piece! Quality mix, that's for sure. Powerful? That too! Thanks Painbringer for yet another epic mix! I know that it's 2021, and that I'm a tad late, but there's a reason why I am discussing now the 2019 instalment of the legendary Stamina Records 'Best Of' compilation. A sad reason behind it. Stamina Records' webshop is to seize activity in a month's time! Please read the previous sentence correctly: the webshop stops, not Stamina Records. They will remain active. So nothing that major. Nothing to cry about. We will still get our Freeform from one of the finest (if not the finest) label in Freeform land. It's only shutting shop. Literally. And they are having a sale on, a bloody good one: up to 70% off! And me being Dutch, I had to purchase a few albums. I just had to. And maybe I'll get some more. I like a sale, me. So what did this cheapskate do? I bought each and every 'Best Of' digital CD. I just had to. A few years ago the label granted me a sneak preview to a few of those, and now I repay them by buying them all. Starting with the release from 2013 up to the 2020 edition. So I'm up to speed with all the music released from 2013 until 2020. And that's the main reason why I'm reviewing this instalment. I am a Freeform fanatic. I have been to a few parties, bought much merchandise over the years, and also bought a shit ton of CDs. But that all stopped after buying a new car: this did not come with a CD player. My dreams were shattered, so I uploaded them all onto a hard drive, and threw most of them away (only kept memorable ones and ones with autograph on it). But my new car HAS got a CD player. So I jumped the gun a bit. Could have saved all the thousands of CDs. Ah well, at least nothing is lost. But here we are, 2021. The world is fucked, and so am I. I was scrolling through my Facebook timeline, and saw the message posted by A.B .... the webshop is closing. I had to buy a few albums. And one of them is this one. An album filled with 15 tracks, made by the finest Freeform producers, and a special mix by A.B himself. A bit of scratching here and there, and technically superbly mixed together. What else could you wish for? If you want to, make sure you head over to Stamina Records' website, and see what money can buy you (for now)..... hurry the f*** up! A.B - Awaken (Intro Edit) Kounta Kulture - Edge Of The Universe Digital Commandos - Angels With Filthy Souls GERCORE - Legacy A.B & Kevin Energy - Samsara Kounta Kulture - Valhalla A.B & Substanced - Injustice A.B - Kielo (Digital Commandos Remix) Transcend - Domination (A.B & Synthwulf Remix) Finnbarr - Hidden In The Light (A.B & Cyrax Remix) Digital Commandos feat MC Cyx - Rockin' Up The Mic A.B - Alright (Fracus & Darwin Remix) A.B & Douglas - TIWWA Tamerax - I Got The Beeps Tamerax - PDS (WGS Instrumental) Yes mate. Freeform Heaven. 15 records + a mix by A.B himself. What else could you wish for? You know it makes sense to go to their store right now and purchase everything. And I mean everything! You need to hurry up, store closes soon. I am not going to repeat myself: if you miss out on this bargain, it's your own fault. The tracks are all fire. That's not something new: the tracks are made by legendary Freeform artists such as A.B himself, Kounta Kulture, Digital Commandos, Douglas, Tamerax, Kevin Energy, Substanced, and more. And some even got a remix treatment by producers such as Fracus & Darwin, Synthwulf, Cyrax, and Digital Commandos. Would you expect anything less than normal from Stamina Records? No, me neither. They always deliver high quality music, and have been a stable force in our community. If you are looking for DJ friendly records, you are in for a treat. But, if you are like me, you like a mix more, A.B's got your back. This has got everything you need. When I heard the first 'Best Of' album back in 2013, I got hooked. And now my collection is complete. Some might call it Freeform Heaven. And I do underline that with a big ass marker. It's heavenly. And if you like a bit of scratching too, A.B does his magic during the mix. Always impressed, that's what I am. I've never felt disappointed, and with this instalment Stamina Records have proven again that they are the very best label for Freeform music. Normally I would have a comment here and there about tracks I don't like, or don't like the quality of the mix. But it's all tight. Everything is perfect, literally perfect. And the track that highlights that to me is the track A.B made with Douglas. 'TIWWA'. Just love this duo. They always make it sound so amazing. Get it now! If you are late, you are late. And you will hate yourself. Don't say that we haven't warned you! • Drokz Tribute Mix By Execrate (2021)

It's Tuesday. Terror day. Well, it isn't, but let's call it that anyway. Terror. We need more Terror music in our lives. And today I saw that Opa Drokz uploaded yet another new mix, but it did not contain a tracklist. But I was in the mood for some Drokz, if you catch my drift? Today's been a slow paced day, and I needed something fast, rough, and hard as fucking nails. Obviously you go to the grandaddy of them all: Drokz. I am adore this man and his passion and dedication. He's the focus of everything Hardcore and Terror related. He has embraced the lifestyle and the Dutch culture, which has now gone global. Well, I didn't mean to say it had only gone international today, but it is a global phenomena. It's everywhere, and thanks to artists as Drokz it is still alive and kicking. And he always brings in new music. He's unstoppable! So why am I talking about him if it's not the latest mix I'm reviewing? Well, Drokz did share a tribute mix, made by Execrate, which was made 2 months ago, and it's a 2 hour long mix, with only the hardest records money can buy. It's a good ass mix, if you are into Terror music. And if you do fancy Drokz' music, you will love this 2 hour-long madness mix. What do you get in those 2 hours? All Drokz made tracks. And there are 47 of them. Yes, you read that right: 47 of the finest Drokz tracks. But only the recent stuff, not the early early stuff. This is Drokz in the 21st century. Hard as tits, and fast as fuck. Really impressed with his direction, and his music always appeals to me. It speaks to me. Most of the records in this mix were made by Drokz himself, with a few noticeable exceptions: Deterrent Man, Akira, Mr Courage, The Vizitor, en Het Beest Van Neuk (who the fuck that might be). But the majority are Drokz made tracks, only made by him. And that's good. Sit back, and enjoy this 2 hour of pure Terror music by one of the leading names in the Terror scene. The Godfather of Terror. And if you've never heard of him, and came across this review by accident, please be advised: listeners discretion is advised. Because this mix is hard, really HARD. Drokz & Mr Courage - Get On Your Knees And Pray Drokz - Sneakerhead Drokz - Keeping It Rough Drokz - Satanic Man Spread Terror Drokz - I Am Alive Drokz - World Bass Music Drokz - Brand New Kickz Drokz - Phone Da Industry Drokz & Het Beest Van Neuk - Het Gaat Om De Energie Drokz - Killing The Sound Drokz - Much Damage Much Terror Drokz & Akira - The Club Crushers Drokz - The Understream Drokz - Labelled As An Outcast Drokz - Going To Hell With God Drokz - This Is Dedication Drokz & Mr Courage - Funky Drumming Drokz - On To The Next One Drokz - Weekend Drokz - My Shit Is Dope Drokz - You Should Understand Drokz - Keeping It Rough Drokz & Mr Courage - Busy On A Tempo Drokz - Henkie Lives On Drokz - Faggot Old School Stylio Drokz - DJs Don't Dance Drokz - I Love Drokz Drokz - I'm Gonna Rock Ya Drokz & The Vizitor - Do You Hear Me Drokz - No Compromise Drokz - Rock 2017 Drokz - Crisis Drokz - The Mind Drokz - Supervised Slashing Drokz - Edupaintion And Hisgory Drokz - Vicious (Scream All You Want) Drokz - Karma Drokz - Stamppot Met Gehaktbal Drokz - What Man Can Do Drokz & Deterrent Man - Beef With The Police Drokz - Riot For Music Videos Drokz - Only The Strong Survive Drokz - This Ain't No Disco Drokz - The Vietnam War Drokz - I Wanna Be A Terrorist Drokz - The Terrordome Drokz - Failure Seriously, this mix is hard as tits. Motherfucking hard. This shows how much Drokz rules the Terror scene. My God, all of these are dancefloor smashers. Well, dancefloor? Mosh pit generating anthems. You cannot dance like a normal person, you have to dance like a monkey on acid. Pure and unadulterated acid. And throw in some xtc pills, and there you have it: your feet are moving to the beat, your fists are raised high in the sky, and your mouth is filled with words such as 'more', 'harder', and 'yeah'. That's how I picture myself on the dancefloor, the next time I see Drokz. My God, I do miss hearing this man perform. Can anyone book him to come to London, please? If he does weddings, can he come to mine? Execrate's mix is a dope one. 2 hours of pure Drokz. And he's crammed in so many wicked anthems, such as 'Sneakerhead', 'Beef With The Police', 'Busy On A Tempo', 'This Is Dedication' and more. 47 awesome records by the leading figure in the Terror scene. You might like or dislike his own views, but you cannot deny that Drokz knows what to play for his audience of Terrorheads from all over the world. And Execrate has done a magnificent job, making this exquisite tribute mix. It slowly builds up, and the end is just like an orgasm. You are certainly in need of tissues once this mix is over. I've got only love and appreciation for Execrate, and admiration for Drokz. Especially after hearing 'Failure'. What a beast of a track! Drokz deserves so much more. No small stage anymore: a Drokz dedicated festival. And a statue in his hometown. And a public holiday for this living legend. Really want to order merchandise from the man himself, but seeing as I live in London, and walking around with Terrorheads on a shirt, might not be such a good idea lol. But it's not how you represent the music, it's what it makes you feel. And this mix was exactly what I needed to hear today! Thanks Execrate for this awesome fan mix, and Drokz for being who he is! • Happy Hardcore | Strictly 1996 | Mix 241

Happy Monday everyone. Another week in paradise. Another hot day lies ahead, and especially a hot night. We are going to be stuck inside the house for yet another month. So, let's celebrate this by listening to some Happy Hardcore, eh. We might need some music to cheer us up. Nothing much is happening. So let's enjoy this brand spanking new mix by Raving Madness. The 241st instalment of his successful Hardcore mix series. I've reviewed a few mixes of him in the past, and the latest just grabbed my attention, after seeing the huge smiley face with blood. It's always a short 30 minute mix, with the finest Hardcore music. And today is 30 minutes of pure 1996 Happy Hardcore music. If you feel you need to hear more of 1996 and surrounding years, check out his Soundcloud page: he's got 240 other mixes you might appreciate. Can't believe these tunes are already 25 years old! Obviously everyone has got a different perception on what to call Happy Hardcore, but to me, what Raving Madness has used for this mix, is just right. This is what I call Happy Hardcore, this is the sound I grew up with. Cheesy from the start to the end. But in a strange way I do like it, and it makes me extremely happy. But I have to say that he's got a few really cheesy tracks for his 241st mix. You'll know what I mean once you have a butcher at the tracklist. So these are the 10 records he used for today's mix. Enjoy, and go back 25 years in time! Blue Zone - Too Beautiful (Happy Radio Edit) Bertocucci Feranzano & Tony Salmonelli - Higher Love The Fuck-Ups - Party Time Infernus - 7 Ways Solid Base & Devious Minds - All U Deejays Obliterator - Ruff To The Max (El Bruto Remix) Sandman - Can Can (Bounce Mix) English Muffin - Dum Dum Tails, Noizer & General Noise - Kickin' Bass Back 2 Bass - The beating Of My Heart (East Terminal String Mix) Wow. To start the mix with such an underrated anthem, is really something. Was it on Happy Hardcore 7 or 8? I do remember seeing it on one of those legendary albums. I have devoured these massively during the 90s. And I do miss this sound a lot. Oh God, I thought this mix would make me happier, but it has also made me nostalgic. I miss the 90s. 25 years ago these anthems were released, can you Adam and Eve it? Raving Madness' selection is really something else. Happy to the core. And I've forgotten a few of them. This mix has enlightened my enthusiasm for the happier sound a lot, and I will certainly start listening to the older CDs again. Come on, as many of you haters out there, the music was extremely dope. Not cool to acknowledge in the 90s that you loved Happy Hardcore, but it was part of our history, our culture. And I have embraced it since day one. And even 25 * 365 days later I can still say with pride that I'm a Happy Hardcore lover. Fuck it. So many unappreciated songs. Bertocucci Feranzano & Tony Salmonelli (a.k.a. DJ Buzz Fuzz)'s Higher Love is such a memorable tune. Hands in the air, and glowsticks everywhere. Those were the days. Buzz Fuzz ruled during the 90s, he was on top of everything. And the happier stuff he made was so damn dope. If you don't know, look up 'Daddy Snow'. Another wicked anthem. A fantastic mix. Thanks Raving Madness for yet another 30 minutes of nostalgia. Now I will listen to all the other mixes he has uploaded. I just have to. My craving for Happy Hardcore is seriously immense. • 8Bit-Project UK-H (2021)

YES, temperatures are going through the roof today, and this obviously means one thing: BBQ time. The perfect opportunity to annoy your neighbours with your tunes blasting out your speakers, but sadly not for me: I am the only one in our household who appreciate the harder dance genres. So we will have some 80s and 90s dance playlist playing. That's a shame though, would really love to hear UK Hardcore blasting through my Beats By Dr Dre speaker. Well, at least I'm in charge of the food, so I'll be occupied. But you can still do that: listen to UK Hardcore in your garden. Or balcony. I don't know where you live, obviously. And fire up the BBQ. Have fun. And hopefully on Monday Boris Johnson has got some good news for us. Hopefully we will be getting closer to the end of lockdown, and we can all party again. We deserve it. So let's all stay positive, and crank up the volume to the highest setting. So, this mix. It's mixed by 8Bit, and it contains a lot of UK Hardcore anthems. All happy and cheerful anthems. After looking at the tracklist I noticed that I knew half of the records, and the other half are brand spanking new to me. But the main question here is: do these anthems improve my happiness? And am I going to be a happier person at the BBQ? What do you think? Just have a look at the tracklist and let me know what these tracks do to you: Fracus & Darwin - Coming Back To Me Daniel Seven - Counting Down The Days Dionne & Adam Mohican - Heaven's Door Bundy & Darwin - Better Place Rob IYF - Who Knew Maxi Malone - The Only One I Need DJ Seduction & Al Storm - Destiny Ganar - I Want You (2017 Update) Fracus & Darwin feat Jake - Make It Tonight Eclipse - 24/7 (Fracus & Darwin Remix) Fracus & Darwin vs Michal Mansion - My Star Jason Bouse & Amy Kress - Alive (Daniel Seven Remix) Fracus & Darwin feat Jessica Palmer - Promises Hommarju - Father Well, will you have a look at this, eh? A proper tracklist with some serious UK Hardcore bangers. Happy and cheerful anthems, and that's what we need today. Especially when the sun is out, and most guns are out (yes, I'm talking to you, gym fanatics). BBQ and bangers, and I'm not talking about the sausages. I do know most of these artists. Would be a shitty reviewer if I didn't know them. But 8Bit still impressed me with a few names I've not seen before. A lovely diverse mix, with well known anthems and a few new bangers. The general gist of this mix is to get you up from your seat, and get you dancing, and 8Bit certainly has achieved that. A very happy mix, which makes me happier too. Who needs Sertraline when you can have UK Hardcore, eh? So, what about the actual tracks? They are all solid. They've got this unique and refreshing sound I've not heard in a while. And you know that it's going to be a good mix when you see names like Seduction, Al Storm, Fracus, Darwin, Daniel Seven, and more. Well, according to the tracklist on Soundcloud, track number 11 was made by Darwin and Darwin vs Michael Mansion. Never knew Darwin had a brother? (little mistake). I really liked this mix, and you can feel the same way I do. Happy. Embrace life, and embrace the volume knob on your device: turn it up to the max. 8Bit, your mix is ace! Best record? Oh, that's not easy. I'll go for 'Coming Back To Me'. Good track. • Core Criminal - Taking You Back Vol. 62 Special [Enzyme Records Tribute Set Part lll] (2021)

The weekend has landed! And now it's time to relax, and enjoy the weather. Yeah, right, like anyone will do that. Most of the world will be watching the EURO21 football games. For the next few weeks, it will be a complete nightmare for me, as I'm not a football fanatic. I'd rather spend time behind my PC, listening to sick ass mixes. Makes me much happier. No word of a lie. And today I have got a new mix for you all, focussed on one of the dopest labels in the Hardcore scene: Enzyme Records. And I came across this mix by accident. But thank God that I did. So, Enzyme Records. A label founded by Patrick van Kerckhoven. Also known as Ruffneck. Funnily enough I did hear an interview with him the other day, which got me in the mood for some Enzyme Records, and the mix you are about to listen to wasn't the first one I found. I actually found another one, even darker than this one, but it had no tracklist. So a quick search on Soundcloud led me to this mix. Which has got a tracklist. Happy days. Core Criminal made this mix. And I don't know much about this DJ other than the fact that he made this dedication mix. A tribute mix to one sick ass label. A label that never sees to amaze me, and always provides me with a new record, darker than the one before. I always love the darkness surrounding each record. It feels unique. This sound is linked to Enzyme Records, and I have been a fan for many years. As dark as it might sound, it still creates this happy feeling inside my stomach. Happy as Larry, hence why I couldn't just let this mix go by without reviewing it. And secretly, deep down inside, you don't care about football either. Football or Enzyme Records? Simple choice, right? Anyway, which records did Core Criminal use for this tribute mix? Ophidian - Angel Endymion - Failure (Nosferatu Remix) Hamunaptra - Smell Of Defeat Nosferatu feat The Wishmaster - Technological Civilisation Endymion - Hybrids Enzyme X - Skirmish Synapse - Nifty Tick Endymion - Voices Of The Death Sei2ure - Pneumatic Transmission Ophidian - The Chosen D-Drive - Versus Weapon X - Whatz Yo Name! Endymion - Payback Nosferatu - Intimidation Weapon X - Bad Boy Nosferatu - Disease Endymion & Ophidian - Petrification Ruffneck & Endymion - Justice Nosferatu - Bloodlust Ophidian & Ruffneck - Elegy (Nothing Can last Forever) I remember hearing these many moons ago, and I even owned a few of these records. So amazing to hear them again, and they haven't lost their impact. Still hard as nails, these tracks. Powerful in 2021, powerful in the future. Timeless classics. The tracks are obviously all up to the highest standard, but would you have expected anything else from artists such as Ophidian, Nosferatu, Endymion, Ruffneck, Enzyme X, and more? You know that they will always deliver the finest anthems. And according to this mix, it's also tagged as House. Never knew Enzyme Records made and released House music? Really impressed with this mix by Core Criminal. A nice start to the weekend, and filled with tunes that will get us going. Or, if you are into football, might distract you from the EUROs. If that's the case, it should highlight to you that music means more than football. So spend your time listening to this, much nicer. And your soul will feel cleansed after. A few tiny errors, but still highly enjoyable. Especially because it's got Ophidian's 'The Chosen' in there. What a beast of a track! Worth just listening to this mix for that track alone. And also 'Elegy' and 'Justice' and 'Angel'. Basically, just shut up and listen to this mix. • Franky Wah - The Revival Vol. 1 - Full Mix (2020)

I know I'm into so many other styles, but I normally would be up to date with who-is-who in the Dance scene, but this name, Franky Wah, is a new one. And I don't even know how or why I found this mix from 2020, focussed on his album, which is called 'The Revival Volume 1'. Someone must have reposted his mix, and I saw it and thought 'must give that a try'. I am so relieved that I did, because the mix, which is roughly 70 minutes long, is exactly what I needed to hear! A nice and relaxing House mix. I am a noob in regards to Franky Wah. Anyone able to provide me a short detail on who he is? Or I might just take my finger out of my arse, and just Google Franky? Well, OK, let's do that then. But before we proceed, let focus on the cool image. I love it when images contain multiple other pictures. Are they the ones they used to call polaroids? Anyway, the mix. I've slightly out of touch in regards to House music. This CD contains Franky Wah's own productions, and if you are into House music, you will certainly love this mix. It contains all of the records on 'The Revival' album (I'm guessing, as there is no official tracklist... So, if you are interested, these are the tracks you will find on the official album 'The Revival Volume 1'. Check it out! Franky Wah - Parallel Universe Franky Wah - Fly Moby - In This World (Franky Wah Remix) Franky Wah - Come Together Franky Wah - Don't Be Franky Wah - Lost In Time Franky Wah x Olive - You're Not Alone Franky Wah - First Light Franky Wah - Oscillate Franky Wah - Tomorrow Franky Wah - Horizons Franky Wah - Cry No More MJ Cole & Freya Ridings - Waking Up (Franky Wah Remix) Franky Wah feat Ruby Wood - Green & Gold Such a short tracklist, but a powerful mix. A year on Soundcloud, already 18,6k+ plays and counting, and a lot of positive feedback. People are already screaming for volume 2. So is the positiveness surrounding this mix justified? Yes. The last comment I've seen on this mix was literally just one word: 'Phwoooaaarr'. And no, that wasn't me who wrote that down. Whoever wrote that down, capture the whole essence of this mix in just one word. And the word is exactly the same as what I would use. All the tracks are solid. A nice progressive vibe going on here. A solid mix, with different levels of euphoria. And also a deep house level you haven't heard in a long time. All is in this mix, and it should make you a happier bunny. It has certainly made me happier, and I will now check out the actual album. Whoever Franky Wah is, you have gained another follower. I fell in love with this mix due to 'Green & Gold', but 'Tomorrow' is also a wicked track. Want something different? Something to match your sunny surroundings? Check this out! • Energy Field Vol.2 (2021)

After a nice day out with the wife, I'm back. The computer is switched on immediately because I don't want to miss any new music. The social media aspect doesn't bother me, but music more. I need music to keep me going through each day, and today I've got yet another mix by DJ M@rt!n-J. And I think he does these things on purpose: the amount of mixes he makes and uploads could just keep me busy non stop. I don't even need to review any other mixes, just his. But I'm glad that he does continue providing us with new mixes, life would be a tad boring if we would only hear once from him. And it keeps us constantly on the edge to find new music. And today's mix contains a lot of music from one of the fastest growing Freeform labels, Energy Field, run by DJ Cyrax. So M@rt!n-J released the second mix, a follow up to his first mix, and if you haven't checked it out yet, make sure you click here, which takes you to the first Energy Field appreciation mix, which you will surely love and like too. But now the focus is on the second mix. And what can we gather from the information written on Soundcloud? Well, it's a label run by Cyrax, run from Manchester, UK, and it's a Youtube channel and record label. And they release fucking awesome Freeform music. A few years ago it was Stamina Records who were at the top, and now they have to share the number 1 spot with Energy Field. The amount of awesome tracks is ridiculous. All from well established artists such as Cyrax, Transcend, Substanced, Darwin, and more. And they've been very active in pushing Freeform music into the wide world. And the quality is top notch. Cyrax certainly knows what to release. No compromises are made. Only the finest Freeform music. Hence why M@rt!n-J made this appreciation mix. A well deserved tribute mix for this awesome Freeform label. So which records were selected by M@rt!n-J for this second instalment? Here's the list: Substanced - Retribution Cyrax - You Know Where To Find Me Transcend & Cyrax - Cortisol Darwin - Circle Of Time Transcend - Mystic Transcend - Dreamlab Transcend & Cyrax - Insight (Matt OD Remix) Transcend & Cyrax - Double Drop Darwin - Dark World Transcend & Cyrax - Breathe Again JayB - Spectrum (Matt OD Remix) 11 beautiful tracks, carefully selected by M@rt!n-J. And mixed together beautifully. It contains tracks so hot, you need oven gloves to handle the heat. They are seriously impressive anthems, and they make me happy. Freeform is still a hot topic, and the music coming out of the scene still impresses me. And it certainly doesn't sound boring, or ruined by influences from other styles. Credit where credit is due: Cyrax's label releases wicked anthems. And hopefully one day we will be able to buy an album containing all these anthems. I am an album lover, and really think that Energy Field deserves so much more. More credit, and a bigger stage. Obviously the big names in this tracklist do know how to make music, but even Matt OD, who I have never heard of, brings good Freeform music to the table. Really impressed with each record, and I'm not lying. I always tell the truth, even when I'm lying (which I am not right now). A fantastic mix. Another epic mix by M@rt!n-J. No negative comments, only positives. The tracks are good, the mix is good, and it's also a free download. So, what else is there to say? Best record is 'Mystic' by Transcend. He's just a boss! • Early Hardcore Vinyl Mix 24-05-21

Friday, the weekend is just ahead. A few more hours, and the weekend starts. To get us in the mood, I've randomly picked a mix on Soundcloud for you all today. Literally at random, as I'm not familiar with the DJ of this mix, and have not come across any of this DJ before. How did I see this mix, how did our paths cross? Well, I was looking for an Early Hardcore mix, and after looking at a few (without tracklists), and this was the first one with. So random, yeah. And hopefully a mix you want to hear. At first glance the tracklist did look amazing. And after hearing these early anthems, I do realise it on a daily basis, how much I miss the early sound. You just can't replicate the sound. It's so 90s. So unique. And 2C-Bever (what's in the name?) decided to mix a lot of underrated classics together, in a 68 minute long mix. And they are underrated anthems. Once you see the tracklist, you know exactly what I'm talking about. It's a good start of the weekend. A bit of Hardcore doesn't hurt anyone, right? And we need that boost: we had a few days of good weather, and now it's gone tits up. So any entertainment that might get us through is always welcoming. So which records did 2C-Bever use for this mix? You'll love the look of it, trust me! Bodylotion - No Worries Lords Of The Underworld - Hardcore Funk DJ Skorp & Chronotrigger - Do What You Like Insane - Kiss My Ass Short Circuit - Kick Some Ass Scarface - Housetime Brotherhood - Where Is The Sound? Chosen Few - Zlam Lords Of The Underworld - Take It Easy General Noise - Hey Yo What's Up DJ Skorp & Chronotrigger - Bass Now Lenny Dee & The Hardcore Warriors - Funky Twisted Skorpus Ravers vs Cyntex - Don't Waste Your Time Reyes - Puffed Up Skorpus Ravers vs Cyntex - Freestyle General Noise - Listen Ceasefire - Who's Afraid Of Noise DJ Rob & Tim B - DJ Rob's 20 Seconds DJ Skorp & Chronotrigger - The Answer Scarface - Hear It Twice General Noise - Hey Mr DJ Short Circuit - Sex Frequency Lords Of The Underworld - Basic Ingredients Lords Of Illusion - This DJ Slugnoid - Hyper Cut Lords Of Illusion - For Dano The tracklist does look amazing, and it does contain a lot of records I've not heard in years! And I'm not even exaggerating. That's sadly the state of the world: we move forward too damn quickly (in music world). And some are just forgotten about that quickly. I wish these remained on many DJ's radar, these deserves much more credit. After looking at these records, I can picture them on which CD they were on. Most of them appeared on well known albums, such as Earthquake, thunderdome, Lady Dana's mix CD, Raver's Paradise, Hellsound, and more. I do miss these compilations a lot. Trust me. Good job that 2C-Bever used these for his mix. Really pleased with the look of the tracklist. The mix itself contains a lot of mixing errors. Maybe it's because the tracks are mixed together the oldschool way, using vinyl? Certain transitions are OK, and some sadly aren't. I do like his enthusiasm to make it work, and he certainly has picked wicked anthems for his mix, but the outcome isn't as good as I hoped it to be. The best record is a tie between General Noise's 'Listen' and 'Who's Afraid Of Noise' by Ceasefire. Still a good mix to listen to. There's potential to improve. The mixing I mean, not the track selection. That's spot on. • Uk Hardcore 5 (2021)

It's Wednesday! Wow, didn't expect Wednesday would creep up that quickly. On this fairly warm day, there's not much you really want to do, besides jump in a fairly big sized pool. Or have a nice cocktail in your hand, while laying on a subbed. Depends on your preference, of course. But raving, with these temperatures, not me mate. I'm already sweating thinking of it. It would be nice, but there's also another element: COVID. So a few more weeks until we can get out again, so for now, just focus on your own bedroom rave, or living room rave. Whatever floats your boat. Today's mix is presented to us by DJ Skyline. I've reviewed a few mixes of him in the past, and today it's a new one, only uploaded a week ago. There isn't much information in regards to this mix, only that it contains UK Hardcore anthems, and the number 5. This is kind of cryptic, isn't it? I'm guessing it's the fifth UK Hardcore mix he has made. Or maybe it was a mix he made when he was 5 years old? Who knows the answer to this question? Leave a comment below... All jokes aside, this is a UK Hardcore filled mix, and at first glance at the tracklist it does look good. A mixture of literally everything and anything. A few forgotten anthems, and some I've not even heard before. Literally everything you could wish for. So now you are interested and I've got your attention, right? Well, here's the tracklist: 2 Damn Tuff - Ruff Tuff Dougal & Gammer - This Is The Virus Prospect - Banging S3RL - Pretty Rave Girl 2010 DJ Sc@r & Lady Brock - Muppet Scott Brown - Synthetic Dreams DJ Kurt - Straight From The Underground (Joey Riot Remix) S3RL - Mozart On Crack Arran T & Sc@r - Generation Danny R-Core - Raise Your Hands Kelly Clarkson - Hazel Eyes (Bassjunkie Bootleg) BK - POS 51 (Robbie Long & Stormtrooper Remix) Euphoria feat MC Casper - Hardcore Overdose Defective - The Horizon Well, as I said, this is quite the diverse mix. It's got everything you wanted to hear on this hot and steamy Wednesday. Or, if it's another day you are reading this, whatever day it is today. Who cares? The heat is taken over me. I need to relax. I do love the diversity. Good job DJ Skyline, for making an interesting mix. It has kept me going through today, when I needed it. I'm getting sick of hearing the bog standard radio stations with their all-day crap. UK Hardcore all the way. Obviously everyone has got a different opinion on UK Hardcore, but to me it's always a cheerful sound. One that puts a smile on my face. And Skyline has picked a lot of awesome, cheerful anthems by well known artists. The only minor thing I would like to mention, is that I do not like most of S3RLs stuff. That's just too much cheese for me, and you won't believe that I was born in The Netherlands, right? A good mix, with 2 meh records, but all in all a nice mix. With 'Raise Your Hands' by Danny R-Core. Big track. Would like to hear that again on the dancefloor... just a few more weeks. Let's hold on! • SURVIVAL Podcast #093 by Akira (2021)

Phonk. Have I been out of the scene that long? Every day I discover new words, and this is one of them. Phonk? Well, whatever the real definition is of this word, I bloody like it! Today's mix is one DJ Akira made for S U R V I V A L podcast. And as you well know, DJ Akira likes his things to be rough and hard, so it comes to no surprise that this mix really has the potential to blow your speakers into the next Millennium! But it's not Terror and Speedcore from the start, au contraire my friend. Akira starts slow, and builds it all up toward a climatic ending. The way a mix should be. Today I really fancied hearing something hard, and there are a few names you immediately go to, for the harder stuff. One of them being Akira's best friend Drokz, and the other being Akira. I sadly never had the pleasure to see or hear him play live, but I've absorbed many hours of his sets, which were posted online. So in a sense I am familiar with his style, and as mentioned before, he does like it hard and rough. And he does give it his own spin, his own interpretation on what music should be, and how a mix should sound, and I'm guessing that this mix is no exception to the way he normally plays. Not familiar with this podcast series (blooming hell, it's like we get more and more podcasts each day, can't keep up!), but they have gained another follower on Soundcloud. If all their podcasts are hard as nails, or similar to this roughness that Akira portrayed in this mix, I am satisfied. Yes, I'm easily pleased. This mix starts of slow, but slowly, but surely, builds up the BPMs. Not going full on 10000 BPM at the end. Hell no, that's only reserved for GPF and their piep kicks. Akira does build it up in a well mannered way. And within 63 minutes he throws 40 records our way. So it's going to be a treat for us all! Tracklist, anyone curious to see what Akira played? Syndicate - Impact (7" Edit) Stormtrooper & Syprexa - We Do It On E Syprexa - Single-Use Exit Bag Somniac One - Kill Everyone Asin - Dead Man Limewax - Acid Diaper The DJ Producer - Last Man Standing Xaturate & E-Dub - Big Foot Bratkilla & C-Netik - Corona Virus Dolphin - The Death Of Theokoles (Sinister Souls & Xaturate Remix) Deformer feat DJ Ken-One - Audio Intercourse Deformer - A Moment Of Violence Doormouse - Skelechairs Passenger Of Shit - Crap Fuckin vdv Hellfish & Producer - Theme From Fuck-Daddy Nasenbluten - Concrete Compressor (Live Mix) Dolphin - Runnin' Out Of CREAM Dolphin - The Polychronican The DJ Producer - Paradise Is Never Khaoz Engine - Abomination Hellfish - For The Fans The Outside Agency - The Immobilizer (Akira Remix) Khaoz Engine - Real Shit Hellfish - The New Ruler Dolphin & Bryan Fury - Radiobitch (Original) Dolphin - Raiders Cap (VIP Mix) The Outside Agency - Shadow Circle Hellfish - East Coast Boogie Hellfish - U Don't Quit Hellfish - Single Use Weapon Axe Gabba Murda Mob - Zero Empathy Khaoz Engine - Cracked Out Angerfist - Geto Tremble Deathmachine - Keeping My Mind On My Music Detest - The Return Hellfish & Bryan Fury - Doom Dance The Satan - Believe In Death Dolphin - Hong Kong Ping Pong Hellfish - I'm Not Leaving Axe Gabba Murda Mob - Repeat Prescription (Hellfish Remix) So, wow. This hour long of Phonk music is certainly what you need, especially on this Monday after the Bank Holiday (which is basically a Tuesday, but with the workload of both days crammed in). I wasn't aware I needed this so desperately. But I'm happy I pressed play, and happy that Akira made this mix. Been trying to find more mixes with a tracklist, and this was the first I came across. A solid mix, no word of a lie! As mentioned before, this mix contains literally everything hard and rough. Terror, Speedcore, Techno, Schranz, Breakcore, Hard Techno, Hard Drum and Bass, Industrial, but I don't think that any of the tracks can be classified as Extratone? One of the tags on Soundcloud says Extratone, but isn't that the ridiculously fast music, well above 250 BPM? Nah, it's much more civilised, this mix. Hard as nails, but I wasn't expecting anything else from Akira. A true pioneer, and always pushing the harder sounds forward. Really pleased to hear this mix, and it gave me enough energy to get me through this week. Especially this week. But I'm guessing every week is a Phonk week, right? Every week we could listen to Phonk, to give us a boost? Got no negative comments. Just check out this mix. Do that right now! Best record? Dolphin's 'Runnin' Out Of CREAM'. Solid track that is! • Qriminal Liveset @ Halloween Livestream (31-10-2020)

Hear me out, what I'm about to say makes sense in my head. It's a bank holiday in the UK, and the weather is extraordinarily good. Most people just sit in their garden, enjoying the sun. Not me.I hate sunbathing. Not made for me. I'd rather do stuff, and looking at how the grass had grown over the last few weeks, it looked a bit of a state. So cutting the grass was my chore for the weekend. But as boring as that sounds, it's as good as you make it. And for me to power through this excruciating task, you need some oomph. Some power comes into your ears. Hence why I'm listening to this mix by Qriminal. See, I told you this all made sense. And I think it does.... I stumbled across this mix by accident. Wasn't really looking for it, but it just appeared on my timeline. Maybe it's because I saw DJ Qriminal live a few years ago, at GPF's weird party, which he performed the biggest (and weirdest) hit of the year. But he's not just a one hit wonder. Oh contraire. He's here to stay, and his latest mix shows us that people do like what he does. In 6 months it has already gained over 12,4k plays on Soundcloud. And probably the last 50 of them are me playing this over and over. I don't know much about this livestream. Was it a Youtube stream? A Facebook one? Not really sure. But what I do know, is that it took place on Halloween. One of the weirdest events of the year. Halloween in lockdown... no candy for the kids, as they aren't allowed outside alone. Parents are to isolate, stay indoors. And maybe this is the replacement of kids getting candy. Instead of walking to each door in your neighbourhood, just listen to Qriminal, he's going to give you treats. That sounds wrong. But you know what I mean. Which records did he use during his livestream on Halloween last year? Well, these: Qriminal & Ressurectz - The Madhouse (Qriminal 'Omen' Edit) The Pitcher - Unfinished Demo (Qriminal Edit) Ricky West - Henry (Qriminal Remix) Aversion - Nightmare Visions (Loudness 2018 Edit) Qriminal - Knocked Out Headhunterz - Reloaded Part 2 Josh & Wesz vs Low-E - I've Lost You Dozer - The Church Of The Darkside Beat Providers - Intensive Care Radical Redemption - Just Like You (Qriminal Edit) Titan - Nightmare Zany x Pavo - Wilde Gullie Orgasmo (Qriminal Bootleg) Aversion & Cryex - Concentrate (2020 Edit) The Vision - I Know Your Here Aversion & Qriminal - Bringin' Sexy Back (Qriminal Live Edit) Qriminal & MC Synergy - The Power Of Synergy (Live Edit) Qriminal - Warzone Moksi - Brace Yourself (Qriminal Bootleg) Adaro & Danny Scandal x Regain - For The Street Crowd Reaction (Qriminal Bootleg) Luminite - The Incredible Radical Redemption & D-Sturb - Danger Zone 2-Sidez - Magic Spell The Opposites feat Did & Willie Wartaal - Dom, Lomp & Famous (Adjuzt Edit) Outbreak - Bassface (The Straikerz Kick Edit) Frequencerz - Revolution Noisecontrollers - Crump (2009 Edit) Minus Militia - Overdose O.B.I. - Girls Love Techno (Malice Bootleg) Psyko Punkz - Forget About Dre (Act Of Rage & Radical Redemption Remix) E-Force & Luna - Mindcontroller Frequencerz - Bitch Noisecontrollers - So High Fanteria feat MC I See - Defend The Raw Radical Redemption x Sub Zero Project - Accumulated Filth (Qriminals 'Extreme' Edit) E-Force & Luna - The Game Aversion & Qriminal - Bringin' Sexy Back (Kriminal Live Edit) Sound Rush feat Eurielle - Back To The Roots If you are a Hardstyle fanatic, you will love this mix. It's got literally everything in here. From the well known anthems, to Qriminal's own productions. From the old to the new and everything in between. Within 62 minutes he takes you on this magical journey, and these 37 tracks do give you enough of a boost to cut the bloody grass. At first I thought this mix was fully focussed on Halloween, sort of similar to the mix done by Al Storm a few years ago, where the main theme was Halloween, and each and every record was scary. This only starts with a scary anthems, and the rest aren't that scary. Unless you are NOT into Hardstyle/Rawstyle, then it might become a tad scary for you. But the journey is a nice one. A few live edits in here too, and a shit ton of his own stuff too. Qriminal's mix is what you really wanted to hear, if you haven't heard it already. And it's got one really amazing record in here, which I truly adore.... 'Nightmare Visions' by Aversion. Blooming heck, what a wicked track is this. But also,'Unfinished Demo' by The Pitcher, and 'The Church Of The Darkside' by Dozer. All goosebumps generating anthems. Not all records are my favourite, a few aren't. But you can't please everyone. Those would be the tracks I would listen to at a party at the bar, getting a drink. Like 'Dom, Lomp & Famous'. Really not a huge fan of this record. Radio overkill, maybe... who knows? A good mix, and also a free download. Worth checking out. And as I said, it's got 'Nightmare Visions'. Big big anthem! • Selectabwoy's Different Breed Of Dub Mix (2021)

The last few days I've been in full awe of a mix. A mix so damn good, I had to share it with you all. And it's a mix so damn good, it will blow your speakers up. And that's no an exaggeration. When I discovered this mix, I had to listen to it. And it is mixed by my favourite DJ of all time: Selectabwoy. Recommended by TCD. His mixes have been featured on this website multiple times over the last few years, and he's been a steady force in the music scene, releasing mix after mix, and they are all awesome. Still don't know who's behind the name, but who cares? It's all about the Dub, right? So what this mix about? Well, it's a promo mix for a new album, which is called 'Dubs On Acid Volume 2'. And if you don't know Dub or Reggae or Breakbeat or Jungle, maybe do your research before listening to this mix. But what I can tell you, is that this mix is dope as fuck. Seriously impressive. I don't see that many mixes that focus on this style, but when I do, I am always impressed. And this mix contains so many tracks, so damn hot. Really lit songs. Obviously being Selectabwoy, he brings us the heat. A 56 minute long mix with tracks from the album, and a few exclusives, especially for this mix. If you are into this kind of music, and you want to expand your discography, why not go to Bandcamp and purchase this album? As mentioned before, I am not a specialist in Dub music. Don't get me wrong, I do love it, but it's just that I don't hear it that often. I classify myself as a noob. If you aren't, you are in for a treat. You will probably know each and every artist in this mix, and you will probably know Selectabwoy (who doesn't?). Here's the tracklist. Feast for your eyes and ears! Sub Foundation & Duderonomy - Sines Jericho Megawatt - To The Nation Jericho Megawatt - Perception Dub (Duderonomy Remix) w/ Badger Bob - Sadhguru Dub (RCK Version) Badger Bob - Sadhguru Dub (Reprise) Badger Bob feat Holly & Morgan - Blues Dub Trident - Ya Know (Jericho Megawatt Version) Rollin - Powers (Trident Remix) Rollin - Wonky Trident - Ya Know (Steppa Version) Jericho Megawatt - Warrior Sub Foundation - Shaolin Rudeboy Ninja Riddim Jungle Massey - Spaceman w/ Breaking News feat Sandra - Enter The Jungle 170589 - Chamisa (Original) Trident - Real Life Dub (If You Can't Beat Them Mix) Trident - Real Life Dub (Jungle Mix) Sub Foundation & Duderonomy - Egyptian Jungle 170589 x Duderonomy - Chamisa (Trident Version) Tone Scientist - Dub2071 I would strongly recommend you to get this album, if this is your kind of music. When I first heard this mix, I was driving on the M25 in the Lexus, and when a certain record started, my speakers were screaming at me, asking me what the hell I was doing, having it so damn loud? The volume level is normally around 30, but at 15 the bass was already coming through the speakers, and made me say 'oh my fucking God!'. The whole mix was a blessing, but this one record just stuck with me for days, and even now, on this glorious Sunday evening, I am enjoying this record a lot. Quick recap: this is a promo mix for the album 'Dubs On Acid Volume 2'. Worth checking out. And it's been mixed by Selectabwoy. A legend. And he has delivered on a promise. What promise you might say? To release only awesome mixes. This is yet another one which ticks all the boxes. A super build up, carefully mixed, and the end result is 56 minutes of eargasms. OK, you are waiting for me to say which record is the finest? Well, it's a record that reminds me of the mellow environment in Camden, and has got the coolest vibes surrounding it: 'Sadhguru Dub' by Badger Bob (now that's a unique artist name). I like the simplicity, I love the beats, and I seriously LOVE the bass. Filth as fuck! And it goes on for a while. You are seriously in Heaven when you hear this song. It's just such a mellow song, isn't it? Check it out, and experience it for yourself. But the 20 records in this mix are all solid as a rock. Yet another awesome mix by Selectabwoy. Really impressed. Hence why he's in my top 10 of all time favourite DJs. He always, and I do mean, he always delivers. Whenever I see his name crop up on Soundcloud, I know I'll be in for a treat. A fantastic mix by an all time legend! And for fuck sake, support the album, get it NOW! • Scot Project Live @ Evolution 11, Mad Club, Lausanne, 2002

It is Wednesday, time for some Hard Trance. And this time it's a live set from Scot Project, taken from his set back in 2002 at Mad Club in Lausanne, Switzerland, at a party called Evolution 11. I've never been to Switzerland to go raving, even though it was close enough. Don't really know why I never been? If you have been, let me know in the comments how clubbing is in Switzerland. Would be interesting to find out if their clubbing culture is the same as everywhere else. It probably is, to be fair. But let's talk about this live recording. Scot Project is a German producer and DJ, and well respected within the Hard Trance community. And as you can tell, he's still going strong. But let's go back to 2002, when flyers had to mention that two of the attractions were 'Video Animations' and 'Lasershow'. Now you just take this for granted. But back then it was something to put on the flyers, to attract more people. And by just listening to the liveset, it does seem that the club was packed to the max. And the people were loving it! What's not to love? Hard Trance, early 2000s, and Scot Project? That's just a golden combination. And by looking at the tracklist you know you will be in for a treat. These are the classics. Well, we called them classics now, but not back then: they were the hottest anthems around. Obviously he had to play a lot of his own productions, but that doesn't spoil the fun. The man is a living legend. The only downside is that this could be that this was aired on a radio station, and therefore you get the weird cuts and weird noises here and there. And obviously the bit rate is lower, but you can still enjoy this set a lot! Rank 1 - Awakening (Benicio Remix) Yoji Biomehanika - Theme From Banginglobe (DJ Scot Project Remix) Yoji Biomehanika - Ding A Ling (DJ Scot Project Remix) Arome - Hands Up (DJ Scot Project Remix) Twisters Silence - Listen To Me Mama (DJ Scot Project Remix) DJ Scot Project - S (Outer Space) DJ Scot Project - O (Overdrive) Space Frog - Follow Me (Derb Remix) Mauro Picotto - Iguana (Yoji Biomehanika Remix) WOW! What a tracklist. Short and sweet, but very powerful. Impactful. This certainly takes me back to the wonderful days of Hard Trance. Thanks rave_on for uploading this set onto your Soundcloud channel. Is this set a good one? Yes it is. The recording quality might be a tad low, but remember, this was recorded back in the 2000s, and things were different back then. But it is a live set, that's for sure. And during it, Scot does his best to get the crowd moving. And by the amount of screams and cheers, you can tell that he did a good job. Even when the set goes nuts.... Toward the end of the set, the record skips. Obviously a DJs worst nightmare, but also a good representation of a record: it has been played over and over again, and this means the track is good. And indeed, 'Follow Me' by Space Frog, remixed by Derb, is a good 'un. It is nice to see tracks by Scot himself in a mix, and also tracks by Yoji Biomehanika. And this transition takes me to my favourite song of this mix: one version I haven't heard in years!! 'Ding A Ling' is amazing, 'S' and 'O' obviously wicked anthems, 'Hands Up' a true dancefloor smasher, but fuck me, 'Iguana' by Mauro Picotto, remixed by Yoji. My sweet baby Jesus, what a monster version. 'Iguana' itself is wicked, but this beast of a remix just ends this set well. It's just the perfect ending track. Could have been played in the middle though. Fuck me, this track is hard as nails! A wicked liveset. Takes me back to the early 2000s, Sound quality isn't great, and the fade outs aren't either, but it's pure, it's raw, it's what it was back in 2002. I do remember sitting behind my cassette deck, recording everything onto tape, because I wanted everything on tape. Those were the days. Times do change, but not Scot Project: he still remains an all time legend! • DJ A.K. - Club Kinetic Classics Mix 30.04.21

Club Kinetic, who remembers this memorable club in Stoke-In-Trent? Not me, sadly. I've never had the honour to go. But every so often you see a DJ or raver's post on social media, talking about this club and the awesome parties it had back in the day. And of course I've seen and heard sets from well known DJs such as DJ Sy, DJ Brisk, Stu Allan, Slipmatt, and many more. But sadly I never had the pleasure to experience this madness. And this had some big players playing, such names as Hixxy, Brisk, Dougal, Ratty, Darrien Kelly, Carl Cox, Demand, Vibes, Force & Styles, Sharkey, Scorpio, Mark EG, Seduction, Tango, DJ SS, DJ Hype, Grooverider, and many, many more. If I lived in the UK back in the day, I would have certainly saved a few pennies, and visited this club. So how come I am talking about this club? Well, it's because DJ A.K. uploaded a brand new a few days ago, with records that were played in Kinetic. And they were played on Stu Allan's show, according to A.K. And the records are only a handful of memorable tunes. For those who have been, and for those who haven't been, it's a trip down memory lane. A lot of Dutch and British Happy Hardcore/Hardcore anthems from the 90s. And that always makes me smile. It always does. When I think of the 90s, I do think of these records. No joke. This is what the 90s represents. And to many who have been clubbing in the UK, it probably reminds them of Club Kinetic. And it contains a wide variety of anthems. From the happier stuff to the slightly harder stuff. Not as hard and rough as the present day Hardcore, but for those days it was hard enough. And literally everything is in here that could potentially make you smile. If you don't know any of these, or even one of these records, are you even a raver/gabber? Come on, A.K.'s selection contains literally the biggest records from the 90s. The tunes that got everyone on the dancefloor. And they featured on many compilations. Thankfully not destroyed due to radio overkill. Still highly enjoyable! Here's the tracklist. If this doesn't generate nostalgic feelings, there's something wrong with you! Inferno meets R.N.O. - Are You Ready Lord Of Hardcore - Work That Sukka! (Bass Control Mix) DJ Technotrance - The Y.R.S. Stomp (95 Remix) Bass-X - Hardcore Disco Jimmy J & Cru-L-T - Six Days (DJ Brisk Remix) Q-Tex - E-Creation (1995 Mix) Q-Tex - Believe (Electro Mix) Kinetic Pleasure - Get The Feeling (DJ Pleasure Mix) DJ Demand - Dark & Light Bass Reaction - Technophobia (Power Mix) DJ Demand - Hysteria Jimmy J & Cru-L-T - Take Me Away (Slipmatt Remix) Visa - Depth Charge Scott Brown - Do What You Like! The Demoniac - One, Two (Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo Remix) Ultimate Buzz - Check Da Bass (Scott Brown Remix) Hyperact - Best Friend (Dirty Mix) DJ Isaac & Pagan - 2 Definitions Genaside - Fuck You Hocus Pocus - Here's Johnny! TTF - The Hardcore Bounce Scott Brown vs Rab S - Now Is The Time King Dale - Fuckface DJ Dell vs Scott Brown - Inferno Diss Reaction - Jiiieeehhhaaaa Bass-D & King Matthew feat XD - Like A Dream (Bass-D & King Matthew Remix) Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo - Wonderful Days (Rotterdam Mix) Well done, A.K. What a legendary set. The tracks are all ace, and some might be a tad cheesy, but still highly enjoyable. This is my childhood in a nutshell. All these tracks were on compilations I listened and absorbed. This brings back so many memories, and I've not even been to Club Kinetic! I still hold each and every record close to my heart, and to find them all crammed into a 70 minute long mix just makes my day even better. A lot of Scott Brown records in this mix, but he dominated the charts back in the 90s. He made a huge contribution to the scene, and we are grateful for it. But it's not just Scott that took ownership of the 90s, many others have done the same. And you will find a lot of them in here, in this smashing mix. I have to say that, even though I've never been, if this was played in Club Kinetic and on Stu Allan's show, it must have been crazy times. It's like this mix was made for me specifically. For me this is Hardcore, this is the 90s. And it's so freaking good! I've got nothing negative to say. This sound makes me happy. This is the good ol' sound I really adore, and miss. And the 90s, come on, they were the freaking best! If you disagree, you are insane. And have no sense of music. Or taste. Which record was my favourite? 'Like A Dream' is ace, 'Do What You Like' an all time classic, 'Six Days' a memorable tune, but 'Dark & Light' is the all time classic. Closely followed by 'Get The Feeling'. Check this mix out! Bring back the 90s, and bring them back right now! Thanks A.K. for making me feel like a teenager again. Be it for 70 minutes, but those minutes were glorious! DJ: A.K. • ID&T presents DANA [2002] (Silvio Aquila's special LGB re_run) (2021)

It is finally Wednesday. God, this week has been a long one. A long week this is. But we break the week in half with a good mix. Not sure what the reasoning behind this mix was, but it is basically a mix dedicated to Lady Dana/Dana's CD from back in 2002. It was the first of 6 CDs in a mix series called 'ID&T Presents....'. Honest to God, I can't remember if I did purchase this mix or not back in the 2000s. I did remember having Tomcraft, The Darkraver, Charly Lownoise, and Promo. This was around the time I saw her play in Kerkrade, at a club which gone bust very soon after the opening. Vizion, was that the name? Anyway, irrelevant of what the club was called, I did see Dana perform, and was amazed by the Queen of Hardcore. She made the jump to Hardstyle, and it worked well for her. She gained a new cult following in the Hardstyle scene, after being the reigning Queen in the Hardcore scene. And with this CD she established her status as the all time Queen of the harder styles. Not sure if the series went well, if I'm honest. I did remember thinking that this mix concept was quite cool. But maybe ID&T didn't, and killed it after 6 CDs. But I still hold fond memories on what Dana used to mix back in the early 2000s. The sound was so dope, so energetic, so fresh. And with this CD she did show to the world that she knows how to please the fans/listeners. I'm not sure what Silvio did with this mix which makes it special? Don't know the terminology mentioned in the title: LGB re_run? If anyone knows, please share it with me. Intrigued. He basically used the same records as per Dana's CD, so here's the tracklist: Miss Peppermint - Back In Time (Miss Groovy Remix) Hunter - The Hammer (Techno Mix) Kyau vs Albert - Save Me (Derb Mix) Marc Et Claude - Loving You (DJ Isaac Remix) DJ Tom_X - Cocaine (Club Mix) Unit 4 - The Ultimate Geal - Losing My Feeling (The Beholder & Balistic Remix) DJ Zemtec - Bring Me Ur Silence (Gary D Remix) Pacific Link - Rings Of Jupiter (Original Mix) Deepack - 100% Hardstyle Masterz - Age Of Reverse Bass (TBY's Rude Mix) DJ Zany - P.L.O.R.K. Hardheadz - Wreck This Place (Original Mix) ZX a.k.a. Zenith DJ - Scream (Main Club Mix) Ard und Jorn - 16 (DJ Nagoom Mix) As this is the same tracklist as Dana's CD, let's not spend too much time talking about it. People already did that back in 2002. Let's focus on the tracks, and the mix. If anyone still has the original CD, can you tell me what the difference is between the CD and this mix? Can't really imagine many changes from the original CD, right? Maybe the recording quality is different? I can't hear any difference between previous Dana mixes and the style of this mix? If this is the same mix as Dana's, then I would obviously judge Dana's skills. And she is superb =. She's the Queen. I wish I still had this CD, or I wish I purchased this CD. Would have loved it to have this in my collection. And also the Rank 1 CD, that would have made my collection complete. But as always, my collections were never complete. I lost interest, or never purchased them for whatever reason. I do love the style from 2002. So cool. Coming from the Hardcore scene to this was such a refreshing thing to experience. This is what I call Hardstyle. This is where it all began. And whenever someone mentions Hardstyle, I think of this. The best track is obviously 'Wreck This Place' by Hardheadz. Simple. For now I will give this mix a 5 star rating, but obviously, if this is just the Dana mix with few alteration, the credit should go to the legendary DJ Dana. Please comment below for your answer on the mix's originality. Or could this just be the exact mix made by Dana, replayed on a radio station? Anyone know the answer? • Alby Loud presents: Loudcore Mix Vol.19: Hard & Mysterious [Mizz Behave Takeover] (2020)

It is only Tuesday. My God, time isn't flying by. The week has only been two days. It feels like it has been more than 2 days. I need a weekend outdoors, raving preferably, but if not, just hugging people. Don't care who they are, we are allowed to hug, so fucking hugging it is. But until then, I need something to get me through this long ass week. And I think that I've got one mix you might have missed, but will appreciate? As long as you like hearing hard and rough music, mixed together by a mysterious woman. If you don't, and you want it to be mixed by weird blokes in a mask, you can do one, and listen to GPF. True fanatics of the piep kicks know who the lady in the image above is. Mizz Behave. One of the hardest ladies in the piep scene. If you don't know her, let me introduce her to you: she's called Mizz Behave, and .... erm... well, I don't know much about her. She does yoga. She likes her music to be hard and rough. And that's basically it. She could be a masked heroine? You tell me. I have seen her once perform at the GPF party back in the day when hugging was the norm. Toward the end of last year she made a mix for the Alby Loud show. Or whatever that might be? A mix series? Podcast? Who knows? Again, I've got no answers to many questions. I'm limited in sharing information, because I don't have anything to share. The only thing I know is that the mix is 31 minutes long, and contains a lot of naughty tracks. So naughty, you would need to put on protection prior to listening to this mix. It's filthy, and there's a huge chance you will soil your undies. Not my fault. Her fault. The reason why I am listening to this now, is because Mizz Behave released a record last week, and it's dope. It made me think of her, and her enthusiasm for the Puzzycore. And I also needed something to get me going. A quick search on Soundcloud, and now I've got a mix for you all. Enjoy! Bud Spencer & Terence Hill - Lalalalalala (High Level Edit) (Sickmode Edit) Riot Shift - Machinery Radical Redemption - Dominator Tribute Thyron - Rave Generation vs Ncrypta & Fraw - Omega (Mizz Behave Mashup) GPF & Mind Compressor - Spaghetti Love (Mizz Behave Remix) Mizz Behave - Suck My Puzzy Mizz Behave x Miss Enemy - Sugar Beatz GPF x Malice - All I Want Is Piep Kicks Jebroer - Gaan Met Die Banaan (GPF & Mizz Behave's Laser Piep Kick Edit of Riot Shift's Vegang Edit) Mizz Behave x The Freaky Bastard - Loca GPF x Caine x Mizz Behave - Greazed Up GPF x Mizz Behave - I Fucked A Girl GPF x Russian Village Boys - Hello Baby / Привет Детка (Сингл, 2020) Psycho Killer & Dissoactive - Tarantella Napoletana (Speaking Italian) GPF - Fucking On The Ground So this happened. There's a lot of madness going on here. If you've not heard any of this before, you might be in for a treat. If you don't know GPF, Mizz Behave, or this new sound called Puzzycore, or Piep Kicks, you will be in for a shock. You might love it, or hate it. Once you are bitten by the bug, you will generate a huge love or a tremendous amount of hatred toward it. It's up to you, how this music makes you feel. But please remain PLUR (Peace, Love, Unity, and Respect). This style has got a huge following, and a lot of dedicated fans. It is funny to see how they emerged out of nowhere, and created a shit storm in the scene. And it's all down to GPF. Could it be that Mizz Behave is actually behind the GPF mask? Does anyone actually know what she looks like? It she a she? Fuck knows. I did like this mix. Quirky, and hard. Silly, and rough. It's just what I needed today. A lot of silliness around most of these tracks. Some serious anthems, but the main gist is to have fun, and with anthems such as 'Tarantella Napoletana' and 'Loca' and 'Suck My Puzzy' and 'Spaghetti Love' and more, you know for sure you will be beaten up by your speakers, hard! Which record in this mix made me the most moist? It has to be 'Tarantella Napoletana'. Hilarious record. Peter and Brian Griffin on a record? Hilarity ensues. Listen to this mix right now, and make sure you check out GPF (and maybe Mizz Behave) on Twitch this Saturday. With headlining acts such as Headhunterz, Da Tweekaz, Riot Shift, Lil Texas, Thera, Caine, and more... you will certainly get your Puzzycore fix! The only dislike I've got, is the length of this mix. Could have been much longer! And also that her Yoga mix didn't come with a tracklist. I would have reviewed that one too. • Rob Gee - Electric Pineapple (1997)

Let's go back to 1997, a good year for Hardcore. Not just for Hardcore, but I cannot be fucked to discuss what happened in 1997, I am not Wikipedia, am I? If you Google the year '97 and Hardcore music, you will probably see a lot of good albums you might have purchased/listened to. I bought a lot of stuff back then, and it was the year before I went out raving. A year before I actually saw Rob Gee live at Mysteryland. As an underaged boy (I was 14), I was impressed with the whole event, not so much with the livesets at the main stage. Never really liked guitars and screaming people on stage. Hence why Rock isn't my favourite style. But I was there, and witnessed it all. Even though Rob Gee made an extremely cheesy track ('XTC, You Got What I Need'), he still had a lot of wicked anthems under his belt. And one of the few albums which had a mix by Rob Gee on it, was the Heroes Of Hardcore collection. Legendary, and so damn cool. I remember playing the USA version a lot: really liked the Omar Santana and Delirium mix. But Rob's was so quirky, so different, so Rob Gee-ish. I loved it. Even the fucking intro was epic. Little did I know that this was already released as 'Electric Pineapple' in the US. I only found this album earlier today on Soundcloud (thanks magpie303 for yet another exquisite upload), and after some digging I found out that this mix was released pre Heroes Of Hardcore. And that the Heroes version is basically the same! Now I don't know if that's lazy, or just genius? To reuse one mix?! Anyway, in 1997 this mix was made, so don't expect high end, fancy equipment. 'Simple' stuff, and I put that in quotations. For 1997 it was high end, but compared to what we've got in 2021, it was much simpler. Maybe more efficient? Who knows. So, if you know Rob Gee, the person from the 90s, you know he's all about the madness. And he certainly brought that to the table with this mix. A complete mind fuck is what you are going to experience, but oh so 90s! I fucking love it! Does it make sense? Who gives a crap? Here's the tracklist for Heroes Of... erm.. I mean 'Electric Pineapple'! Rob Gee - Intro (My Fucking Way) Rob Gee - Gabberlove Bertocucci Feranzano - Ravers Movement DJ Gizmo & DJ Delirium - Do You Wanna Dance Bodylotion - Catastrophy Tripax - Leprechaun The Prophet - Allright Now Here We Go The Prophet - Allright Now Here We Go (Rob Gee Gabber Fuck Mix) Rob Gee - Natas Is Counting Chosen Few - Name Of The DJ Rave Parade - Kiss The Fucking Charly & Theo Goodbye (Fast Mix) Rave A Graphics - There Is No Other (Radio Edit) Neophyte - Rockin' Ralphie Dee & Rob Gee - Sex, Drugs & Gabbahouse DJ Gizmo - The End Of The Beginning Mental Hardcore Associates - Let's Get Wappie The Dark Raver & Lenny Dee - To Da Rhythm Bodylotion - Always Hardcore Rob Gee - EEG Bor Bodylotion - Happy Is Voor Hobo's Lenny Dee - Let Ya Feet Stomp Rob Gee - Get The Fuck Up DOA - Brooklyn Mob DOA Narotic - NYC Speedcore DOA - DJ Assfucker Rob Gee - XTC, You Got What I Need Rob Gee - Outro You can certainly tell that Rob Gee liked his Hardcore to be different. Sometimes extremely funny, and sometimes just plain silly. But sometimes spot on, I must say. Silly being 'Gabberlove', not a track you want to make love to. Funny being 'EEG Bor', and something spot on 'Natas Is Counting'. Or 'Leprechaun', as part of the group Tripax. He loved to be slightly different back then, didn't he? And to be fair, that's not a bad thing. It's unique. OK, let's address the elephant in the room here, before I get too many negative comments. The mixing itself. Well. It's not great. Certain moments the mix is good, and he throws you off by doing something unexpected (and making it work).. and then other moments it's a bit of a hit and miss. That's why I hold this album dear to me, it's not something extremely polished, or too snazzy. It's fucking Hardcore and that's all that matters. It can ruin the experience from time to time though, especially with a few of these wicked records. It was a weird mix, but it's certainly an enjoyable one. You won't be able to hear something as quirky as this in a long time. This is Rob Gee back in the 90s. Have you ever seen him live, or on TV? He was someone to be seen, and you certainly saw him. He was present. He was there. You might like or dislike him, but he's part of our Gabber culture. And therefore we should thank him. Is this Rob's finest mix? Nah, he's made others slightly better. But is it a good mix? It is certainly enjoyable. Is it perfect? Not in the slightest. But to me, back then, it didn't matter. I was just curious on what the Americans had to bring to the table, and with Heroes of Hardcore I got a taster. And it was good. Sadly not a Rob Gee track to be called my favourite of this mix. It has to be 'NYC Speedcore'. Yes, can you believe it? If there's one track that holds the most power within, it's that one, by DOA Narotic. Fucking fierce record. You want to have fun, and a throwback to 1997? Have fun with this one! Ps. who came up with this name? Electric Pineapple? WTF? • Millennium Hardcore 168 - 175 BPM (Part 3 of 4) (2021)

It is Sunday, Millennium Hardcore day. A day we can use to reminisce the sound which we miss a lot. This Millennium sound was and still is so damn good, you will find many dedication mixes online. One of those mixes came to my attention earlier this week, and it's by a DJ called Ravert. But there's a hidden bonus to this mix: there are three others! This one you are about to listen to, is the third of 4 mixes in this mix series. So if you were looking for more mixes, just check out the other three mixes, and I know for sure you will have your fix sorted, your Millennium Hardcore fix. I have to say that you do need something hard and rough when you are doing chores. You don't want to do ironing in silence? Who does that? A psychopath would do that. And I know you are probably doing it early in the morning, so you can have a relaxing day ahead of you, but come on: you do need something motivational. Hence why I played this mix, and it got me through the day. No slow music or silence, just banging Hardcore anthems. Ravert's mix is two and a half hours long, and contains 45 records. All by well known Hardcore producers such as Neophyte, Mad Dog, Catscan, Re-Style, Project Omeaga, Angerfist, Tha Playah, Tommyknocker, and many, many more. A lot of the tracks in this mix are well known ones. I would even go as far as to say that these are all known anthems, and much loved. And played at literally each and every Hardcore event around the Millennium. These were the anthems of our generation. And those tunes make me extremely happy. But the main question here is obviously if these are good anthems. Are these the ones that can get you going? Do you get moist from hearing these banging tunes? Well, just look at the tracklist, and let me know: Menace II Society - Chronic Disorder Bodylotion - How Much Can You Take (Catscan Remix) Angerfist - Take U Back Catscan - Time To B Loud (Korsakoff Remix) Art Of Fighters - Redemption Tommyknocker - Showtime Tommyknocker feat Sunbeam - Twisted World Tha Playah - Weird Clit (Neophyte & Evil Activities Remix) Human Resource - Dominator (Outblast & Angerfist Mix) Tha Playah - Premonition Tha Playah - Rotterdam Nightmare Angerfist - Raise Your Fist Project Omeaga - Prednison Attack Noize Suppressor - Wash Machine Nosferatu - Cameltoe Noize Suppressor - Top A Top Placid K - Are You Aware Tommyknocker - The Nutrition (Headbanger Remix) Tommyknocker - Revolution Tha Playah - Fuck The Titties (The Viper & Tommyknocker Remix) Re-Style - No Imitations Catscan - The World Is Mine Tommyknocker - Criminal Tommyknocker - Dream Scream Evil Activities & The Viper - Raw To The Floor Evil Activities - The Way I Am (Endymion Remix) The Viper & Tommyknocker - The Prophecy Unfolds (Tha Playah Remix) DJ Jappo & Lancinhouse - Exlxaxl (Neophyte & Evil Activities Remix) Evil Activities - No Place To Hide Dione vs Paul Elstak - Here Comes The Prozac Dr. Z-Vago - Underground, My Sound Tommyknocker - Hurricane Tommyknocker - Demolition Endymion - Rock The Part-E Outblast - Masters Symphony (Evil Actitivies R3fik5) Dione - Eye Of The Storm (Angerfist Remix) Evil Activities - To You Who Doubt Me (Tommyknocker Remix) Evil Activities & DJ Panic feat MC Alee - Never Fall Asleep Tha Playah - Mastah Of Shock (Angerfist Remix) DJ Mad Dog - Welcome Down Evil Activities - Nobody Said It Was Easy Kasparov feat MC Raw - We Will Dominate (Angerfist Refix) Neophyte vs Evil Activities - One Of These Days Neophyte vs Tha Playah - Still Nr. 1 Endymion & Nosferatu - Drunk With A Gun (Evil Activities Remix) This is a proper Hardcore mix, certainly one that will get you moving. If you aren't moving, what are you even doing? Why are you listening to this mix, eh? Tell me, tell me right now! I have had this mix on all morning, and now it's going into the late afternoon, I am still enjoying these anthems. A good throwback to the Millennium days, when Hardcore was still extremely cool and exciting to me. Not saying the present day isn't exciting, but it's getting less and less appealing to me. I'd prefer the older sound. Gosh, I'm sounding just like my dad now. All jokes aside, it's always good to get back to your roots. And with this mix you can go back in time. I remember seeing these on many MoH compilations, and hearing them at parties such as Raving Nightmare. Those were the days, and I still hold them dear to my heart. The sound was so ground breaking, fresh, and forward thinking. The earlier Hardcore might not have remained ground breaking as much as it should have been, but this Millennium sound remained its strength, years after the records were released. Powerful stuff, won't go amiss at present day raves. Ravert's mix is a good one. Good selection of tracks. Good mixing, but maybe too eager and too 'sloppy' at certain stages. But it won't hide away your love for the Millennium sound, and it will certainly get you going. I am going to name my favourite anthem of this mix: 'Nobody Said It Was Easy' by Evil Activities. A sing along song. Play it anywhere, at any given time, and everyone will sing along to this. No one will stay silent. Followed up by everything made by Tommyknocker and Noize Suppressor. A good mix. Enjoy it! • The Sound of In Qontrol | An Ode To In Qontrol (2021)

The working week has been split in half, and now it's time to look out for the upcoming weekend. For many this means getting closer to the end of lockdown, but sadly not everyone is feeling the same. To maybe get the people a bit livelier and happier, I've got a mix for you all today, focussed on an event which only took place 7 times in the Amsterdam Rai: In Qontrol. Do you remember the event? Have you been to it? If you have, I envy you a lot! This was one of those events I never went to, and I regret not going. Could I only turn back the time, I would have been the first buying a ticket.... but there's no such thing sadly. I went on a journey this afternoon for some Hardstyle. I just needed to hear something hard and rough, and it took me to this mix. A mix made by Ephoric, released on The Sound of Hardstyle's Soundcloud channel. And it's packed with anthems which would have been played at In Qontrol. A few of the anthems, and the rest all Hardstyle anthems from those wonderful years. I can't believe this event only took place between 2004 and 2010, and due to tax increases they decided to cancel the event. Damn you government, damn you to hell! How come I did know of this event? Come on, I am Dutch, I know everything about harder style focussed events. And I've owned a few of the In Qontrol CDs. I did love those a lot. Sadly, scratches on the discs made them unplayable. But I still hold fond memories in regards to the Hardstyle/Hardcore from that era. So damn good, and now in 2021 it's categorised as 'old'. But to me it still sounds fresh as a daisy. Ephoric made this mix, to show his love for In Qontrol. And the channel it was uploaded on, is obviously focussed on Hardstyle, so reasons enough to share this with you all. All tracks which you could have heard on the CDs of In Qontrol, or at the actual event. Again, if you've been to one of these parties, I am jealous of you. The tracks selected for this mix are as follows: Noisecontrollers - CTRL.ALT.DELETE (In Qontrol 2009 Anthem) Psyko Punkz - After MF Frontliner - Greenhouse Scope DJ - Rock Hypnotic Thalamus - Flash Forward (In Qontrol 2006 Anthem) Project One - Fantasy Or Reality Brennan Heart & Wildstylez - Reputation Game Pavo - Communicate Donkey Rollers - The Last City On Earth (In Qontrol 2008 Anthem) Slim Shore - Scars Chain Reaction - Lellebel The Pitcher - I Just Can't Stop Frontliner - SAVE.EXIT.PLANET (In Qontrol 2010 Anthem) Zatox & Nikkita - Poltergeist Brennan Heart - Memento Alpha2 - Unleashed Josh & Wesz - Like Thiz Zany - Animated Audio Wildstylez - The Panthom Beat Showtek - We Live For The Music (Noisecontroller Remix) Killer Clown - Silentium Crypsis & Luna - Torture 2 Best Enemies - Phases (TBY Romantic Mix) Headhunterz - A New Day Tha Playah - Walking The Line Wow. I simply can't believe that these records are over 10 years old! If you delve into the sound, yeah, you can tell it's not the present day Hardstyle, but still, I would never have believed these to be over 10 years old. Where did the fucking time go to? Seriously, stop going by this quickly. I fucking hate it. I do remember each and every track in this mix. Some I've completely forgotten about, seeing as we've moved on from the older sounding Hardstyle to the new sound, but sometimes I like to go back in time and appreciate what we used to have. And it wasn't certainly back. It was fucking epic. It was amazing. And so many amazing records were released back then, that laid the foundation for the present day Hardstyle. Sometimes certain producers make a new record sound 'classic'-ish, but it's still not the same. 2004 to 2010 were definitely wicked years. Without a shadow of a doubt. Well, let's talk about the music. It's good. End of conversation. I'm not kidding. I cannot say anything negative about the sound that was released back then. I can say that I think each record is and was a dancefloor smasher back then, and if you were at In Qontrol, you must have had a wonderful time. I can picture a younger TCD dancing back in those days at similar events. Fuck, why does time fly by? This brings back memories, and they are all good. But which record gave me the most flashbacks, the most memories, the most goosebumps? It is without a shadow of a doubt one of the hardest anthems of that era: 'Torture' by Crypsis and Luna. Closely followed by 'Phases', by 2 Best Enemies, remixed by TBY. A wonderful mix, and a good dedication mix. Flashbacks galore! I feel so blessed to have raved throughout the Millennium, and I am happy I bought many albums and witnessed many artists perform. Sadly not at In Qontrol. At least the music remains with me forever! • Pure Bonzai Records by D E N Z (2013)

If you are a music lover, you certainly know the majestic label called Bonzai Records. Ever heard of it, huh? One of the most important dance labels in music history, they have provided us with many memorable anthems over the years, since they were founded back in 1992. This Belgian label has meant so much to so many, it is hard to find people out there who have never heard of this label before. The quality released on this label is beyond everything you can ever imagine. Such an important label this has been, and to prove that, you just have to type in the words 'Bonzai' and 'Records' on Soundcloud, Mixcloud, Youtube, or other music channels, and you will find hundreds, if not thousands of dedication mixes. Like the one I found the other day, made by D E N Z . As a young lad I always knew that Bonzai Records was of importance, and I even went out raving in Belgium, just to capture that feeling. And when I did enter the club, and heard those mesmerising tunes come toward me through the speakers, I knew I was in heaven. Come on, you must know this label. You cannot be that ignorant, right? Just let me name you a few artists who have released their tracks on this label. Just a few. You will immediately understand what I mean when I say that this label is an important label in the music history: Yves De Ruyter, Dream Your Dream, Bounty Hunter, Jones & Stephenson, Thunderball, Franky Jones, Cherry Moon, Gary D., Marco Bailey, Energy 52, Da Cool, and these are just the biggest names up to 1997! You can imagine the importance, and how big this label was back in the day. D E N Z made this dedication mix back in 2013. 8 Years ago it was uploaded, and people seemed to love it. I have to be added to this list of listeners, and I really appreciate what he has achieved in a 53 minute long mix. Here's the tracklist, and be amazed once you realise what D E N Z has done! 01. Traxcaliber - The Dreamer 02. Aqua Contact - La Sirena 03. Belgica Wave - The Wave 04. Bwp Experiments - Feel The House Of 'E 05. Phrenetic System - Fantasy 06. Belgica Wave - I'll Be Your Guest 07. Mooneyes - Twilight Creatures 08. Kosmik Experience - Voyager In Trance 09. Brainwasher - L'Ange Gabriel 10. Airplay - Give Me Acid 11. Deep Atmosfear - About Christine 12. Return Of The Native - Persuasion 13. Yves De Ruyter - The Rebel 14. The Blackmaster - Time Never Stops 15. Interstate - Swing In La 16. Jones & Stephenson - The First Rebirth (Matt Turner Remix) 17. Yves De Ruyter - A Story About House 18. Jones & Stephenson - The First Rebirth 19. Airwave Alone - In The Dark 20. Cherrymoon Trax - The House Of House 21. Phrenetic System - Wayfarer 22. Thunderball - Bonzai Channel One 23. Yves De Ruyter - Calling Earth 24. Dj Looney Tune - Beatbox + TGV 25. Yves De Ruyter - Rave City 26. Yves De Ruyter - Outsiders 27. Joyrider - The Deadline 28. X-Change - Ready To Rock 29. Bountyhunter - Users Hunt 30. Bountyhunter - Woops 31. Strange Food - Strange Food 32. Techno Junkies - Entropy Step 33. Cherrymoon Trax - Conflictation 34. Cherrymoon Trax - Let There Be House 35. No Man's Land - Termination ZX Wow. Seriously impressive mix. A lot of obscure and forgotten anthems from this Belgian label. Obviously we know their biggest tunes, and we've got a few in here, but there are also a few records in here I've not heard in ages! And that, ladies and gentlemen, is exactly why I like to find these kinds of mixes. I am not aware of who's behind D E N Z, so lets dive straight into the mix. And the mix is good! Excellent tunes, and mixed together beautifully. 35 records in 53 minutes. And it just flows smoothly. Really smoothly. And it's also a diverse mix: from Hard Trance to Hard Techno to Hardcore. I've got only credit to give to DJ D E N Z . This is exactly the mix I wanted to hear. The tracks are spot on, and the mixing is also good (small errors here and there, but nothing major to write about). A highly entertaining mix, and an ode to one of the most important labels in Hard Dance history. Advice? Just listen to this mix, and indulge yourself into this wonderful sound that came out of Belgium. Yes, their chocolate is nice, and their Manneke Pis is also cool, and their waffles are amazing, but I'd rather choose their music. That's way better! Best record? Interstate's 'Swing In LA'. You know why. • Just Stomp Vol 1 (2021)

It's been a fair few weeks/months since I last reviewed a UK Hardcore set. Well, that's not strictly true, I reviewed a Bonkers dedication mix only a handful of days ago, but a mix filled with new UK Hardcore anthems, I don't seem to hear a lot of them nowadays. You might have been waiting for such a mix in a long time, and I do apologise. Been caught up listening to other styles, but today's the day! Don't worry any more, today's a good day. And let me tell you why... The reason being, it's jam packed with good tunes! Andy Myers' latest mix, which is called 'Just Stomp' might be confusing to you, as you might assume it's filled with Powerstomp anthems, but it's not. It's just filled with stomping hard tunes. And if you are into UK Hardcore, you will appreciate this mix a lot. I wasn't ready for this mix. From the first to the last tune it took me on a ride. And if you are into UK Hardcore, you will enjoy this journey. Andy Myers' mix is really packed with awesome tunes by artists such as Darren Styles, Joey Riot, Marc Smith, Technikore, Shimamura, and many more. I wasn't sure if I would follow the new sound UK Hardcore is going towards, but after hearing this mix I'm still pleased it sounds unique and refreshing, and not just sped up Hardstyle. It still remains unique, and true to the sound we adore. So which tunes did he use for this 'stomping' mix? Well, here's the list: Darren Styles & Ashley Wallbridge feat Gavin Beach - All My Life 4* & Tatsunoshin - Forgive Nick Unique & Uwaukh - Into The Dark Somma & Jennifer Rose - Stars Collide (Technikore Remix) Quickdrop - Shake Your Body Technikore, Weaver & Lokka Vox - Find You Now (Game Extended Remix) Technikore - Another Day Dougal - Take Me Away (Summa Jae Remix) Dougal, Gammer & Squad-E - You U Eye I (J-Trax Remix) Darwin & Jack In Box - Back 2 Basics (BK Remix) Shimamura, Relect & Lindsey Marie - Northern Lights Joey Riot & Marc Smith - Wait For You Quickdrop - High Up In The Sky AOS - On A High (Mr. Ripley's Rawr Remix) Joey Riot & JaXx - Closer To All Your Dreams Joey Riot & Seduction - Face Down Ass Up Well, I wasn't expecting to hear such a mix on a Monday! And to discover one of the biggest tunes I've heard in a long time! But before we discuss good/bad records, let's focus on the mix itself. I do love UK Hardcore, don't get me wrong, and I do appreciate the vocal stuff. The bigger, the better. And in this mix you can find a lot of melodic anthems, like 'Another Day, 'You U Eye I', 'Stars Collide', 'Closer To All Your Dreams', and my favourite record of this mix (and probably 2021) 'All My Life'. That's just a stunning record, and Andy's choice to open the mix with, is a damn good one. I do love the diversity of this mix. It goes from the newer sounding Hardcore to the happier side of Hardcore, the older sound. Nice job, Andy. The only negative is the last record, and the 12th record. Just simply not a fan of these. Sorry. All in all a wicked mix. It gave me a boost I needed today! I need to hear more of this. I will certainly check Andy's site out for more mixes, and so should you! • iPhone XR - My First iPhone, certainly not my last one... (2021)

Back in 2019, a colleague showed me his phone. It was an iPhone XR, and it immediately blew me away. So sleek, so nice to the touch. Obviously I knew of its existence, and also the brand Apple, but I never owned one. Never? Correct, never. I was always an Android fanatic, and I've owned many phones, the likes of Samsung, Blackberry, Nokia, LG, OnePlus, Sony Ericsson, Sagem, and the list goes on. But an Apple phone never appealed to me, until that wonderful day back in 2019. As my phone contract was about to expire and I had to go for a new phone, I thought I'd give the iPhone XR a go. Keep it simple to start with. Don't go for the Pro or another high end spec version, just the 'basic' phone. I went into the O2 shop, when we were still allowed (the good old days), and got the iPhone XR, in white! Exactly the one you see in the picture above. A week later the wife got the same phone but in blue. Obviously you had a wide range of colours, but I decided to keep it simple. Still stands out compared to the most phones out there, which are all in black. Once I came home with the phone, I was extremely happy. The design was so good. It felt so good. The quality was top notch. The weight on the other hand, compared to the previous phone I had (a OnePlus 6) was a tad disappointing, but nothing major. I couldn't believe it: for the first time ever, I owned an Apple phone! Back in the 90s I did own a few Macintosh computers, but Windows won me over. Now, 2019, the year of the big change, it made me feel good. It looked so sleek and beautiful, but the pain would creep up slowly: getting data from an Android phone to an Apple IOS phone. My God, what a nightmare that was. If you are considering changing, make sure you do your research before, because it's certainly NOT easy. From iPhone to iPhone is dead easy, but not from Android. I lost a fair amount of data, that was a bummer. All the logins were gone, and the apps, well, I had to download them again, and remember my passwords. That was a nightmare which unfolded the second I turned the phone on, and stuck my SIM card in. At least I kept the phone numbers. The WhatsApp history could be stored, but wouldn't be visible on the actual chat. But once I overcame this issue, I was an iPhone user. Funnily enough, colleagues at work noticed it, and it felt like I was part of this special group of people. I don't know how to describe it. Like a cult. And I was bitten by the bug. I had the 64 GB phone, which after 2 years was sufficient enough. Got the additional Cloud storage sorted, so that's nothing to worry about. But it obviously depends on the usage pattern of the owner: are you a person with 1000 apps, you might need to go for a higher spec version. If you aren't, you might appreciate 64 GB. For me it's enough. The build quality of the phone is superb. The screen quality is also top. The jump in regards to the quality was nothing I've ever experienced before. Such a difference. But you pay for quality. Other manufacturers have now got the same or similar spec phones on the market, but for me the change was immense. Youtube videos were insanely good, and the screen was brightly lit. It would be the phone I would carry with pride. But one of the main issues was a case for the phone. You don't want to drop the phone, and pay a lot of money for the repair. A case had to be ordered, but most were big boys. Thick and very uncomfortable. After buying a few, I found a decent one, a bumper case. Strong, and yet light. I did like the phone. It was quick, but sadly had no finger print scanner. That would have been a feature I wished the phone had. The face scanner works magic, but in 2020 and 2021 the phone unlocking would have been a tad annoying, with humans wearing masks constantly. The latest software update provided the answer, if you have an iWatch (which I do). So the speed was good, the build quality is good, but were there any negatives? Well, yes. The battery wasn't great. After a while we had the to charge the phone at least twice a day. It would drain the battery a lot, the way I used the phone. Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Video, Youtube... all would eat the battery's life expectancy a lot. That was quite the nuisance. And we were used to charging speeds higher than expected, and it did take a lot of time to get to 100%. That's the one reason I changed from an iPhone XR to an iPhone 12 a few days ago (the review for this phone will be written in 2 years time, at the end of the contract with O2). The iPhone XR gave me a glimpse into the wonderful world of Apple, which I left around 1998. Now I own an iPhone 12, an iWatch, and an iMac. I was thinking of purchasing a high speed charger for the new phone, but for now the charging speed matches the previous phone. It's slightly quicker, but not as quick as advertised on their website. I did really appreciate my first iPhone. It wasn't the highest spec version, as the iPhone X was out too, with multiple versions of it available. The iPhone and it's quirkiness has grown on me, and I wouldn't go back to Android for now. Maybe in the future, but not yet. I am really pleased with the little changes that Apple introduces in each software update, and on Youtube you can find a lot of videos of people talking about 'hidden features' on each phone. It took me 2 years to find out how to search for text on a website. Control-F is the one you use on a Windows computer, or Command-F on the iMac, but there's a way. Of course there is: Apple thought of everything! With regret and happiness in mind I recently changed my phone. The XR would have lasted longer, but I just wanted something newer. My colleague, who introduced me, still has his, and he's happy with it. For him there's no need to change. The wife is still a tad Android fangirl-ish. But showing her how easy it was to transfer stuff from the XR to the 12 made her realise that the iPhone could be the next phone for her. If you have never owned an iPhone, I would consider it. Yes, certain iPhones were scrutinised for having issues, like the famous bend gate phone, but they have upped their games, and the build quality is great, and the phones feel absolutely great. And if you follow Youtubers who test these phones, and you know of Jerry Rig (as example), there's no need to burn your screen like he does, or bend it (like Beckham). As long as you've got a case which protects the phone, it will last you a long time. Mine goes back to O2, for recycling. They might salvage the phone, and sell it as refurbished. Mine hasn't got any scratches, or dents, or hasn't been bent. A perfect phone. The best one I've ever owned. But that might change; the 12 might even be better. 5G anyone?

  • Cut-X - Blucher Terror - 1998

It is Sunday, yet another week has flown by damn quickly. Time is just unstoppable, isn't it? But at least it's one day closer to the end of lockdown. And that's something we should be looking forward to. All over the globe the COVID virus is slowly being pushed back, and hopefully we can rave again soon. But for now, we can just hold on, and remain in our homes. Come on, don't ruin it for everyone (including yourself), we are only a few weeks away. We can manage. And to get us through it, why not listen to an obscure mix I've only found a few days ago? You will thank me after. Unless you are obviously not into Hardcore/Terror.... Thanks to our favourite Hardcore channel on Soundcloud, magpie303, he has uploaded yet another wicked mix. One I've not heard of, or know of its existence. Cut-X? Does not ring a bell. Blucher Terror? Never heard of that either. So to me it's an obscure, underground mix. If you know anything, please enlighten me, it's always good to expand my knowledge. The only thing I know is that this mix is hard as hell. Really hard. The tags on Soundcloud say 'Early Hardcore', but to me it's so much more than that! I would even categorise this under the main category 'Early Terror'. Why? Because this mix is hard, and the tracks aren't for the faint hearted. Yes, they might sound a tad main Hardcore-ish but the BPMs are faster compared to 'normal' Hardcore from around 1998. And it's rougher, really rougher. You might not like this, if you like slow and melodic and romantic Hardcore. This will certainly penetrate your ear drums and will leave you deaf for an hour or two after the mix ended. So Cut-X, which records were used for this mix? If you are interested, here's the tracklist: Tieum - K 1000 Tieum - Tribesman Tieum - Load Trax Tieum vs DJ Go!Go! - Lethargy Tieum - K 1000 DJ Go!Go! - Weirdness Tieum - The Bass Tieum - Werlook Tieum - Let's Do It Brainbruiser - Killerpoint Tieum - Hardcore Clay Micropoint - Join Or Die Brainbruiser - Prisoners Of... Brainbruiser - Biteline Micropoint - Sodomination Brainbruiser - Kirra Brainbruiser - Langosta Technological Terror Crew - U.K. Fresh The DJ Producer - The DJ Producer Takes Deathchant To The Butchers Hellfish & Skeeta - The Running Man (The Butcher Of Bakersfield Special Edition) Tieum - H.P. Hellfish, Diplomat & Smarti - Eastcoast Killer HHS Bros & DJ Cek - Hey Amigo (Scum Of Haarlem - Mattone Mix) Diplomat & Beagle - Polaris (Remix) HHS Bros & DJ Cek - Rigor Mortis So, this mix happened. Wowsers. This is one insane mix, and one that will certainly wake you the fuck up, if you weren't awake already. As mentioned before, I'm not sure who Cut-X is, or what Blucher Terror is, or means, but it has made me very happy. This takes me back to the days when I was full into everything Hardcore related, and it was released in 1998, the year I discovered the Tunnel of Terror for the first time, and never looked back ever since. This was the kind of music I adored during 1998 and the years following, and it has certainly made me appreciate the early sound. If I had to compare the music from 1998 to the present day Terror, it's a completely different world. But if I'm honest, I do like both a lot. I'd prefer the older sound over the new sound, but still, love 'em both. This was all new and fresh back in 1998, and it grabbed many people's attention. I still hold fond memories of raving back in 1998, and Terror was a huge part of my life back then. The amount of time I've spent in Terror areas is insane. I must have ruined a good few pairs of sneakers in those areas. Raved my fucking ass off! It is hard, and rough, and not for everyone. I understand. If you are a noob and know nothing about Terror music, you might not appreciate this. But consider this: it is still impressive how they made the music on the equipment they had back then. It isn't just 'boom boom' noises, there's a deeper level in each and every track. The DJ must have been a huge fan of Tieum and Micropoint and Brainbruiser. A lot of tracks in this mix by these artists. But this ain't a bad thing. A good and wicked mix. If you feeling a tad down, and you need a motivational mix, or just one that puts heat rub on your anus and makes you bleed for weeks, this is certainly a mix for you. Or, as I just thought of it and named it, a moist making mix! Thanks magpie303 for yet another wicked mix. How does he find all these mixes? • Feest In Je Kanus - X-Qlusive Holland 2018 Editie

It is Wednesday, and it's a good day. Today I am feeling a tad Dutch. Yeah, how do I explain that to the non-dutchies out there? It's a thing. You either have it, or you don't. It's reminiscing the roots of an individual. For me, being Dutch, it means to think about Dutch things, the Dutch language, Dutch food, basically everything Dutch. And what's the most Dutch thing of them all? Of course X-Qlusive Holland. Now that's an event I would like to go to, at least once before I die. It's so extremely Dutch, it could be embarrassing. But it isn't. Just wear your most orange coloured shirt, weird wig, and you will fit in nicely. One tiny side note: it is really Dutch, so all songs are focussed on the Dutch language, so if you don't speak it, you might feel left out. But don't worry: the Dutch have got you covered, and will embrace your presence. 3 years ago a mix was uploaded onto Soundcloud, and it contained all the cheese you'd wish for. Dutch? Check. Cheesy? Check. A lot of bass? Check. And what else do we need today? We don't need anything else. I am guessing the mix was made by Flux Overload, and I've got no information on the artist, so let's dive straight into the mix. I don't know why, but previously I never liked songs sang in Dutch. I had this hatred toward it. And I'm not saying I've fully embraced the Dutch sung songs, but if you put a nice beat under it, and I can listen to it when I'm completely wasted, I am happy as Larry. I am originally from the South of the Netherlands, and we would listen to this kind of music during Carnaval, so this takes me back to my wonderful youth. But I've not been to a Carnaval party for many years, and I've lost touch on what's hot and what's not. Thankfully we've got Soundcloud, so I can hear what's cool. Yeah, I know this is a mix from 2018, but still, it ain't an old mix. I might be only three years late, but to be fair, 2021 was a missed year. So only two years too late... Here's the tracklist: De Boys van Hardstyle Carnaval - Fly With Me (Galactixx Carnaval Edit) Buren van de Brandweer - Pilsies Voor De Vat (FeestDJBarry & Toxicaterz Kick Edit) De Boys van Hardstyle Carnaval - Zachte G, Harde Kick (Udenhout Versie) Pat B - Villa Volta 2017 De Boys van Hardstyle Carnaval - Mexico (X-Qlusive Holland DJ Tool) Stef Ekkel - Liever Te Dik In De Kist Dan Weer Een Feestje Gemist (D-Bass & S-te-Feest Remix) D-Bass & S-te-Feest - Deel van de Zotheid Gigi D'agostino - L'Amour Toujours (Zany Remake) Guus Meeuwis - Het Is Een Nacht (Dr. Rude Remix) Showtek - FTS (Jason Payne Houdt van Boerenkool met Worst Edit) B-Front & Jack Of Sound - Daar Komt De Politie Aan (X-Qlusive Holland 2013 Tool) Silver Nikkan - Flodder (X-Qlusive Holland 2015 Mix) Lamme Frans - Feest! (P!mpteam Remix) De Sjonnies - Dans je de hele Nacht met mij (Dr. Rude X-Qlusive Holland Tool) De Boys van Hardstyle Carnaval - Hoop Kabaal De Boys van Hardstyle Carnaval - Wa Trekte Aon Marco Borsato - Je Hoeft niet naar Huis vannacht (D-Block & S-te-Fan Bootleg) Psyko Punkz - Tony heb jij je masker Op (Sterretje Edit) Normaal - Oerend Hard (style) (Lunatic Remix) B-Front & Frequencerz - Gekkie (Klootviool Edit) ZaZaFront & Sjaak Of Sound feat FeestMC Peerke -Big Fat Bass Record De Boys van Hardstyle Carnaval - Hallo (We Gaan Springen) Frequencerz & ZaZaFront - Lekker Kort Gesprek D-Bass & S-te-Feest - What The Banaan Mashup Bassie & Adriaan - Dag Vriendjes (D-Attack X-Qlusive Holland 2015 Mix) D-Fence - Pompen D-Fence & Angernoizer - Breek De Tent Af So, 27 records in an hour long mix. You will experience the full whack, if you want to know what the Dutch people like to hear on a night out. Not every night though! Don't get me wrong, it is nice to hear this once every blue Moon, but not every Moon. That would drive me mad, and my hatred for the Dutch lingo would drive me up the wall. This mix is quite entertaining. Is the music any great? It's OK. It's party music. It keeps us going. It is funny to hear, and it will certainly get the people moving hard and fast. Is it high quality anthems? Nah mate, it's just cheese fest. And who fucking cares? Not me, not one single bit. This mix has had a fair few plays, and good feedback too. It's light entertainment, and could be very powerful, if you are feeling down, and you need a boost. You need stimulants. You need something to get your blood pumping. This could be the right mix for you, if I'm honest. You can still listen to this mix, even when you aren't Dutch, but you might miss the good sing-a-long sections, such as the wonderful bit in 'Mexico', or Guus Meeuwis' song, or even Marco Borsato's all time classic. Light entertainment, and I'm entertained. Especially when I heard 'Lekker Kort Gesprek'. Forgot about the original ('Wolfpack'), but it thankfully reminded me of it, so now I'm grooving to that song. Brilliant mix. Hardstyle with a bit of Hardcore at the end. Enjoy it! • Technohead - Headsex (1995)

The year is 1995, and Technohead had their biggest hit released, which would dominate the world. ' I Wanna Be A Hippy', remixed by Flamman & Abraxas. The name Technohead would travel all over the world, and to this day we all know which track is their biggest. But there's so much more to Technohead than meets the eye. And most of you might not even know the album they released in 1995: 'Headsex', on Mokum Records. If you are to discover an album which is extremely diverse, it is this album. Obviously we need to discuss the elephant in the room: 'I Wanna Be A Hippy'. Yes, that song is big, and has remained an all time favourite record for many ravers. I was going to say that this track might be slightly too cheese, but I know for sure it's cheesy. It's a party anthem, and gets the crowds going. But that's not their best track, in my honest opinion. It's obviously my opinion, but if you would listen to this album, you will find out that they made more records, some even better than the 'Hippy' song. I bought this back in the day, and was extremely happy with it. Don't know where I bought it from, could have been Free Record Shop, or my local 'underground' music store 'Satisfaction' in Heerlen, but I owned it with pride. During the Happy Hardcore/Hardcore heydays, I've listen to this album over and over again, and was amazed by its diversity. It's an album that cannot be limited to just one style. For God's sake, it's got a remix version of 'Get Stoned' on it, remixed by the mighty Carl Cox! Certain records on this album have to be taken with a pinch of salt, but others are just too damn brutal, and require you to visit a hospital after. So which records were released back in the day on this rather peculiar CD? Here's the list: Technohead - I Wanna Be A Hippy (Original Mix) Technohead - Headsex (Let The Music Go) (Nanotech Mix) Technohead - Accelerator #2 Technohead - The Passion #1 Technohead - Get High (G.T.O. Mix) Technohead - Mary Jane Technohead - Headsex (Original Mix) Technohead - Get Stoned (Carl Cox Mix) Technohead - Keep The Party Going Technohead - Sexhead (Daz Sauna & Trevor Rockcliffe Mix) Technohead - Gabba Hop Technohead - Kiddie Mix Technohead - Headsex (Let The Music Go) (Elvis Jackson Radio Mix) Technohead - I Wanna Be A Hippy (Flamman & Abraxas Radio Mix) It is weird to think that this album is already 26 years old. But it still packs a punch. It might not be everyone's favourite, but it is certainly an important album. An album which contains Technohead's biggest hit. Be it both the original version, and of course the one that hit and dominated the Dutch charts, and others. A significant album that deserves more respect. I am not announcing that I'm their number one fan, but I did appreciate their music back in the day. You might know a few of their records like 'The Number One Contender', 'Banan-na-na', 'Happy Birthday', and more. And yet, whenever people hear the name Technohead, they immediately think of 'I Wanna Be A Hippy' song. Not fair, if I'm honest. They were quite experimental, and if you'd open up your ears, you might even appreciate the other records they have released, which you can find on this album, It isn't a flawless album. Just listen to 'Kiddie Mix' and 'Headsex', the remix. Those are some cheese fest anthems. But to regain their strength, they did release records such as 'Mary Jane', 'Gabba Hop','Headsex', 'Sexhead', and my all time favourite: 'Accelerator #2'. That to me is the best Technohead record ever! And such an underrated song. This song should be on people's favourite Hardcore anthem list. Or on many compilations. This is certainly a record with a lot of depth. It is nice to see that Technohead are still releasing music, and their Soundcloud channel is filled with awesome music. To me, this 'Headsex' album is certainly a wicked album every raver should have in their possession. And thanks to DJ Thumpa, who made a Mokum mix and I reviewed the other day. He made me think of this album, and dig deep in my music collection. Memories galore! Is 'I Wanna Be A Hippy' overrated? Oh, hell yes. Does Technohead deserve more credit for their other anthems? Yes. Should you get this album? Yes. Go back in time, and appreciate the experimental sound they created. Groundbreaking and underrated. An album that is on my top 100 list of all time favourite CDs. • Thumpa - Celebrating 25 Years Of Mokum Records Pt 2 (2019)

Mokum Records. If you've not heard of this label before, are you even a Hardcore enthusiast? Are you a Gabber? Created back in 1993, this label has had many releases by big Hardcore names such as Chosen Few, Flamman & Abraxas, Tellurian, DJ Dano, Scott Brown, Technohead, Party Animals, Painbringer, Peckerhead, Riot Natio, and more, many more. And Thumpa decided to release a mix commemorating their achievements in the last 25 years. His first mix (which I couldn't find, sadly) had probably a lot of other records from this majestic label, and this second instalment continues with this trend. So, why did he do it? He made it, because he's a fan of this label. According to his Soundcloud page, it's one of his favourite labels. To me Mokum has given us many memorable tunes, and has been part of my youth during the 90s. It is quite funny to realise that there were a lot of labels which released awesome tunes. Back in the 90s I never investigated much time into the labels and their releases: I just bought whatever was in my weekly budget. Thumpa has got many Hardcore mixes on his Soundcloud, so why did I pick this one? Well, Soundcloud's algorithm decided that I should see this mix, and no other mix. This had to be the mix that Soundcloud wanted me to listen to, so why not? So which tunes are used for this mix? The tracklist is here. But what makes me wonder is which tracks Thumpa has used for the first mix? Couldn't find it on Soundcloud anymore... Technohead - Jetset No 1 Pineapple Jack - Go Out Of Your Mind Titanium Steel - People Of Tomorrow Tellurian - Get Stupid Technohead - Mary Jane Search & Destroy - Iron Man Annihilator - Into The Wild Style Pineapple Jack - Do That Dance Annihilator - Mind War Cyanide - Feeling Tellurian - So Damn Tough Titanium Steel - Paralyzed Tellurian - Fucked Up Motherfuckers Annihilator - Get Busy With The Beats Vitamin - Cosmic Trash Hardnoiser - Chosen Few Mashup Tellurian - Vortex The Outside Agency - Touch The Darkness Haardcore - Everybody In The House Tellurian - Guyver Technohead vs Elvis Jackson - Majik Rob Gee & Ralphie Dee - Sex, Drugs & Gabberhouse The Outside Agency - Witchcraft The Twins Artcore - The Ghostbusters The Original Gabber - Life Is Like A Dance The Original Gabber - Kick Some Azz The Original Gabber - Pump That Pussy Back 2 Bass - I Wanna Be With You (Spoetnik Remix) Search & Destroy - Madness Revisited DJ Dano & Liza N Eliaz - Energy Boost DJ Dano - Fuckem All Aggroman - Cloze Your Eyez Riot Nation - Abba Gabba (The Speed Freak's Mutter Ficker Massaker) Thumpa's selection is great. A lot of forgotten tracks. A lot of these I've not seen or heard for quite a while. Some are not that great, to be fair lol, and I understand why they have been forgotten about, but the majority should deserve a bigger stage. A lot of these are all time classic records, and Thumpa's decision to play them, is justified. And obviously one of the biggest records from Mokum's discography has got to be Tellurian's 'Guyver'. I can honestly say that this has been one of my all time favourite records, without a shadow of a doubt. Big anthem by Tellurian, still loved by the Hardcore community. But, the one anthem I would have liked to hear on this mix, would have been Technohead's 'Accelerator #2'. Now that's a big anthem. It might have been used on the first mix, don't know sadly. A few records aren't my favourite, and sadly Rob Gee was involved in those: 'Sex, Drugs & Gabberhouse' is one of those, and 'Abba Gabba'. I have heard Rob Gee play 'Sex, Drugs...' live at Mysteryland 1998, didn't go down that well. This record hasn't aged well, compared to the others used for this mix. A very nice dedication mix for one of the pioneering labels of the Hardcore scene. Support both the label and the DJ of this mix, DJ Thumpa! And check out both their websites and Soundcloud channels: so much more music for you to hear! • Si Thompson - Happy Hardcore Underground Vol. 2 Mix (2021)

Today I've got a special mix for you all. Answer my next question with a simple 'yes' or 'no', and I will give you the answer immediately: do you like Happy Hardcore? If the answer is no, please leave this page right NOW! You read the title of this review, you saw the image, which includes the words 'Happy' and 'Hardcore', and you still answer no? How dare you? If you answering with 'hell yes', then you've come to the right place. But if you don't know what Happy Hardcore is, you've also come to the right place. So, about this mix. It's mixed by Si Thompson, and it contains most records of Hardcore Underground latest Happy Hardcore CD which is called 'Happy Hardcore Underground Volume 2'. Their first instalment was released back in 2019, and this second instalment seems to hit all the targets: happy? Yes. Hardcore? Yes. 2021 twist to the sound? Yes. But what makes this album so special? It is an unmixed, digitally acquired album only, and it's got the biggest UK Hardcore producers on it, like Fracus, Darwin, Jack In Box, Entity, Haywire, and more. And it's Happy Hardcore, what else is there to like? It's a fresh take on the much loved sound from the 90s, but made in the 20s. And without a shadow of a doubt, these producers know exactly how to make Happy Hardcore great again! It is like it has never left at all! Happy Hardcore lives on and on, it cannot die! Si Thompson's mix, as mentioned, contains most of the records, and the question is: is the mix worth your time? Well, let's dive straight into the tracklist, and you know which records he mixed together in this 70 minute long mix: Darwin & Jack In Box - Give Me The Sunshine (Intro Mix) Fracus - I Got This Fracus & Entity - Feel Alive Daniel Seven - B The 1 Fracus & Haywire - Another Life (HHU2 Mix) Darwin & Dy5on - Lights In The Sky Fracus, 3Star & Projekt feat Haywire - I'll Be The One Darwin & Jack In Box - Lovetoy (BK Edition) Happy Tunes - Rushing On Pink Champagne (Jack In Box Remix) DJ Evo -Coco's Return Jack In Box & Darwin - Sometimes (HHU2 Mix) Entity & Darwin - Retro Riddim (VIP) Darwin & Jack In Box - Where I Belong Fracus - Blatant Influence Jack In Box vs Fracus - Nine Tea Four Fracus & Darwin - Dance Tonight Ravegenix - What You Need Time Rhythm - Just Release Me If you are an oldskool Happy Hardcore lover and you look at this tracklist and wonders who the hell these producers are, don't you worry my son: it is time for you to hear the next generation producers, those that are keeping the Happy Hardcore sound alive and kicking. Is it Happy? Sure hell it is! The boys at Hardcore Underground have composed yet another wicked album, and it's one you should definitely check out. I am really impressed with Jack In Box, seen his name before, don't know who's behind it, but he surely knows how to make a wicked Happy Hardcore anthem (or two). Of course I know how good Fracus and Darwin are, and they don't need no introduction. Nor do Entity, Daniel Seven, Haywire, and the list goes on. Si's mix is ok. Sometimes he's a tad too eager during his set. He makes jumps here and there, and cuts to the next record, when it's not needed. All in all a good mix, but maybe tone the eagerness down 1% and it should all be fine. Without a doubt you hear the HU sound in most of these records, and they've all been anthems and a half, but which one stands out the most? It's the most messed up one: one that starts funny, and you feel that it's going to be a jokey record, but when it hits, it hits you hard: 'Coco's Return' by DJ Evo. Funny as hell, but when the piano bits kick in, there's no way of hiding: the breakbeat element takes over everything! Super anthem. I do love so many things about these anthems: the piano sections, the vocals, the happiness... we need more of this! Really impressed with the album and really enjoyed this mix.Worth checking out! • Bonkers 13 Tribute Mixed By M@rt!n-J (2021)

Some days you wake up, and have a good feeling in your stomach. Other days, you might wake up and feel absolutely dreadful. On those days you need something to cheer you up, and a few days ago I woke up really messed up, and then Soundcloud informed me about a new mix, which was uploaded, and immediately did I feel 10 times better. Readers of this blog site know that I'm a huge fan of M@rt!n-J, and he's a regular contributor to this site. It's like every other day he uploads a new mix, and it can be as diverse as you like. But for today's mix, he's gone back in time, to the golden years of UK Hardcore. If you don't know the Bonkers series, are you even Hardcore? Everyone knows the Bonkers series, and it's been successful since its first release back in the day. Obviously we know what has happened (HU took ownership of the Bonkers series and released new albums using the HU name). But back in 1996 React decided to release an album, and this series was alive until 2009. Many well knows DJ contributed to this series, including DJs such as Hixxy, Sharkey, Scott Brown, Sy, Gammer, Dougal, Chris Unknown, Re-Con, Vibes Brisk & Ham, and the list goes on and on. Basically the finest DJs in the UK Hardcore scene. Back in 2004 the thirteenth instalment was released, and this one was a 4 CD compilation, mixed by DJ Hixxy, Sharkey, Scott Brown, and Dougal. You don't need to be reminded of this album, you all have this one, and all the other 18 albums. To me the 13th, 16th, and 18th are the finest of this series. Not a fan of the early stuff, but that's just personal. As you would have expected, M@rt!n-J has made yet another tribute mix. I completely forgot he already made one for Bonkers 12. But today's focus is the thirteenth Bonkers CD. A fine CD with memorable anthems. And this mix contains the finest of the 4 CDs. It's like M@rt!n-J read my mind, and hand picked the ones I really loved back then (and still do). And he does end with some Gabber anthems! Credit to him for ending it the way it should be done! So which amazing records has he picked? Well, these: Eclipse - Be Happy Gammer - Back 2 Front Euphoria - Silver Dawn Dougal & Gammer feat Jenna - Heaven On Earth CLSM feat Stefan Booth - Drifting Away Scott Brown - Pro-To-Plasm Insight - Only Your Love (Scott Brown's Evolution Remix) Scott Brown - Rock Tha Beat Uplift - Night Flight Dougal & Gammer - Xtreme Plus System - Let's All Get Down Dreadhed feat MC Casper - Chemicals In Motion Nosferatu - Have It Your Way The Viper & Tommyknocker feat Da Mouth Of Madness - The Prophecy Unfolds (Tha Playah Remix) Brisk & Vagabond - Punchdrunk Scott Brown - A Few Moments I can never get tired of the music which was released around 2004-2005. I've got only love and appreciation for the music from that era. And also love for the Bonkers series: it is one of those series which sparked my enthusiasm for UK Hardcore. It wasn't the first, but certainly an important factor in my love for the scene and the sound. Doesn't this spark your love for the Millennium sound again? Come on, this must make you happy, right? Well, if it doesn't, you aren't human. So, M@rt!n-J's mix. He picked 16 anthems from this thirteenth mix. He could have picked any from the 77 records, but I'm happy with his selection. He's picked a lot of awesome tracks with a distinctive sound, one you can immediately link to the Millennium sound. So unique and fresh. You don't hear this kind of Hardcore enough anymore. 16 AMAZING records, but only one can be the ultimate record. And I've got to give the credit to Dreadhed feat MC Casper (a.k.a. Vagabond) - Chemicals In Motion. Always loved his take on Hardcore. Don't hear that style anymore. A fantastic mix by a regular contributor. Hopefully he will contribute more mixes like this one. Or make one bad ass long mix, with records from ALL CDs in the series. Why not? Ps. if you find the time, why not check out the other Bonkers dedication mix? Have fun, blast from the past, eh? • jerOO - Isolation Pt. 2 (2021)

11 months ago DJ jerOO uploaded this first 'Isolation' mix, and it has been quiet ever since. As most of us have experienced COVID in a different way, some went completely mad on social media, and nearly posted mixes every day. And others once in a blue Moon. That really doesn't matter how you've spent your time in lockdown, we all done it differently. And jerOO took his time to release his second mix in this series. The most important factor here is that it should be worth it. And that's up to us to judge, right? As the mix was before, this one is filled with Grime and Dubstep tunes. I've been out of the scene for too damn long, and I do miss hearing Dubstep/Grime tunes. Funny to mention: only the other day did I watch a documentary about Dubstep and how it 'died' after 2012. In a way it has, but it hasn't. That doesn't make any sense, but hear me out; Dubstep and Grime has gone underground again. It's not as commercialised as back in the late 00s/early 10s. And that's good. Yes, it has had some success, but it's time for it to remain underground, and don't kill it with shite tunes. Bring the darkness. And darkness, that's exactly what jerOO brought to the table. COVID/Isolation hasn't destroyed his DJ skills, so you should be ready for yet another amazing, filled to the brim mix. As he always does it, he crams in as many records as he can find, and makes it all sound effortless. That's why I like this DJ, you see. However he does it, I'm not really fussed about it. As long as the outcome is perfect, and today's mix is one you need to judge yourself. Here's the full tracklist. N-Type & Sleeper - Dozer Leo Cap feat Atom Dubs - Jumbo Biome - Never Listen Roommate - Oneness Commodo - Hot Pursuit Ternion Sound - Up Up Skream - Requestline VIP Deafblind - Force Mass Motion (MediCated Remix) Biome - The Joker N-Type & Sleeper - Carbon Skream - The Soul Distinct Motive - 40hz (J Sparrow Remix) Coltcuts - The Vihaan VIP N-Type & Sleeper - Arcane Caski - Sandstone Wevaman - The Struggle (Goosensei Remix) A Hundred Drums x Dutchie - After Earth Untitled - Uprise Dub Oakin - Is This Real Leo Cap feat Skotcha - Anapsky Roklem x Sebalo - Tikka ID - ID Hypho - Kevin Gantz - Low Levels Truth - No Difference Biome - Boxed ENiGMA Dubz - Lurkin' MediCated - The Worm Benga - 26 Basslines (LOST Edit) Ternion Sound - Verify Me VIP Coltcuts - My Dear N-Type & Sleeper - Drift See, I told you, 32 records in a 53 minute long mix. He doesn't take any prisoners, he doesn't. He just wants you to dance until your feet stop working. jerOO, it's yet another fucking epic mix. We need more. And please don't let us wait 11 months again. Or maybe do, and make this an annual mix? But we need this kind of mixes, I really enjoyed it yet again. I can't remember when it was I was introduced into jerOO's wonderful world, but it must have been a few years now, right? He actually made 2 mixes for this wonderful website, and if the oldest is 8 years now, that means that it must be roughly 8+ years that I follow him. Is the latest mix by him the best one he's ever done? Short answer: no. His best mix is still the 'Grime Sessions Vol.3', released 4 years ago. But does that make this mix anything less? Nope. this is yet another wicked mix added to an already impressive back catalogue (on Soundcloud). He's done it again, and I've got only positive feedback for this second instalment of the 'Isolation' series. Best record? '26 Basslines' by Benga. Disagree? Fight me. • Tunnel Of Terror II (1998)

So, Terror music. I know for sure that it's not everybody's cup of tea. That's for damn sure. And you might even have come to this website after seeing the hashtag I used and thought it was a terror incident related post. It's not anything to do with anything besides Terror music. So if you are disappointed, I do apologise. But maybe it's time for you to embrace other styles which are out here, including Gabber, Terror, Speedcore and more. Back in 1998, Terror was thriving. It was extremely popular. It still is. But you know what I'm saying. It was a new sound, that quickly grabbed a new kind of following. Dedicated, even more than the already existing group of gabbers. Terrorheads. That's what they become. And those were absolutely mad about it. I remember the Tunnel of Terror tent at Mysteryland 1998 Outdoor, and it was literally as the name is: a tunnel, filled with stroboscopes, and Terror music coming towards you from every angle. The second you left the tent you heard the well known beep sound. And were probably in a shock state. But it was all good. The music was popular, and there were many compilations out there. Terror even appeared on the legendary Thunderdome albums. But it was about time it got its own collection. And within 1 year they released two albums, Tunnel Of Terror volume 1 and 2, and then.... nothing. Don't know what happened. It just stopped. It was around this time when Hardcore went down the drain, so maybe they decided that this market was too damn niche, and didn't continue with it. Don't know. ID&T/Arcade, please fill us in. I am interested. I am still the proud owner of the second instalment of this CD series. Never purchased part 1, but it's on Youtube nowadays anyway. So no worries, I can still get my 1998 Terror dosage via Youtube. But let me take you back to 1998, with the tracklist of these 2 CDs. CD 1 Drokz & Tails - Theme From The Tunnel 3 Da Hardway - Pull The Trigger (Temper Tantrum Mix) Suicyco Soul Squad - The Masters Of Pain Leathernecks - At War (Remix) The Destroyer - Rave Is My Church Eradicator - Us Against Us Geoff Da Chef - Enter Dimention Stickhead & Don Demon - Demonhead U.V.C & DJ Narotic - The Kings Are Back Stickhead - Get In Gear (Remix) Ruffian - Terror Kickin Of Creatures Of The Occult - Hell Is Our Home Dark Sessions - D.F.G.S. 8 The Joker - Gla^ps Malebolgia - The Spawn Kotzaak Clan - Powerstation Kotzaak Dano - 120-9000 CD 2 Mescalum United - Live In Brixton D.O.A. - Unleash The Brutality Drokz & Tails - I'm The New Man DJ Akira & DJ UNC - Forever Fucked Sonic Overkill - Enterhell Phycho-Out - Tri-Distortone DJ Freak vs Smarti - Amytriptoleyne Nukom - Nina Creatures Of The Occult feat Count Negative - A New Religion Kill Selective - We Like To Fuck Somatic Response - Macroshack Taciturne - Der Toten HHS Bros & DJ Cek - Pedal 242 Phycho 9 - Psycho 9 The Plague - Power Plug F.U.H.D. - I Learned To Believe DJ Jappo & Lancinhouse - Trashfucker It brings a smile on my face seeing this tracklist. And it takes me back to the 90s. After I went to Mysteryland, I bought this CD, and it has been with me, all these years. I remember being in that tent, and it was magical. This CD takes me back to that specific moment. The music is also very good. Not all records are Terror though, don't get confused by the title of the CD. But the Hardcore tracks do have a Terror kick to it, an underlying and hidden Terror feature. And it starts off with a wicked anthem, made by Drokz & Tailz. The perfect build up to an already extremely satisfying CD. Obviously the majority of fans will call 'At War' as one of their favourite Terror tracks. But there's plenty on here I like. So I pick one from each CD. Seems fair, right? CD 1 : 'Powerstation Kotzaak' by Kotzaak Clan. If you've not heard this one before, you must CD 2: 'Der Toten' by Taciturne. Not really a full on Terror record, but still rocks cock! Special mention to the fucking weirdest anthems on both CDs: '120-9000' by Dano, and 'Live In Brixton' by Mescalum United. Try to dance to that. Good luck. I tried to, and now my sneakers are dead, and so are my feet. Blisters galore. A fantastic album. Diverse too. You can find Terror in its fullest on here. So slower Terror, and the hardest stuff out there. I have not found one single anthem on here I didn't like back in 1998, and in 2020. My favourite Terror album ever. Does anyone know why they stopped after this one? Comment below! • Tunnel Of Terror (1998)

Let me take you back roughly 23 years ago, back to 1998. It was the wonderful year for us all: it was the year for me, in which I lost my raving virginity. I remember it like it was yesterday. And it was also probably the best year for my music collection, because I purchased literally everything under the Sun. And when I say everything, I do mean everything. If it was Hardcore related, I bought it. But never this album. I reviewed the other CD a year ago, it was the CD I actually purchased. I am saddened to say that I should have purchased this album, but just simply forgot. Hardcore was at its peak, and it was going to die sooner or later. To find a copy now is like finding a needle in a haystack. Fucking impossible. So, as mentioned in the previous review, it was the year of the Tunnel Of Terror compilation. Well, this one in particular. There have been many Terror compilations, and they are still going strong, but the ID&T/Arcade compilation only consisted of two instalments, and then, it just died. Why? Maybe ID&T knew it wasn't going well with Hardcore, who knew? But I remember it like it was yesterday: walking into the Free Record Shop, seeing these in the Arcade stand near the entrance, and listening to them with the big ass (and filthy) headset at the counter. Volume to the max, and fucking go for it. Even though I never purchased this one, I still had Youtube. And a few days ago I was reminded again that this CD exists. I had to give this another go, and it blew me away, over and over. Some memorable names on this CD, like Drokz & Tails, Dano, Skinhead, Rob Gee, Stickhead, Nasenbluten, Ruffian, and the list goes on. 36 Terror records on two CDs. Don't know how much these were back in the day. Why does ƒ49,99 ring a bell? Wasn't the cheap shite from Mecado like ƒ25, and the more high end stuff around 50? Anyone an idea on how much this album was back in 1998? So, what kind of music by which artists did we call Terror back in 1998? You interested? CD 1 : DJ Narcotic vs U.V.C. - Step Into The Pit Bold Bob - Dive Into Steel 3 Bad Brothers - Too Strong MC Drokz & Tails - Doin' Time French Connection - Bullshit Rob Gee & The Natas - Headrush Delta Nine - Speakerworship The Leathernecks - Leathernecker Infarct - The Anti-Christ Christ Of Noise - Intruders Are Coming MC Drokz & Tails - Murder All DJ Dano - Terror Is Timeless DJ Skinhead - Extreme Terror (N.Y. Hardcore Mix) Count Negative & MC Drokz - Lie & Die D.O.A. - DJ Assfucker Ron D-Core - Fuck Deep House The Plague - This Is Where It Stops Jack Lucifer - 96 Knights (Don't Fear The Darkness) CD 2: Don Demon & Stickhead - Conquer The World Siege & Menace - I Hate You Akira, Drokz & Tails - Kill Anyone Nasenbluten -- Machete Kill Selective - Fucked Up DJ Dano - Fuckem All Laurent Ho - Uretan Critical Mass - Severe Trauma Multi Death Clan - Slavery Diode - Listen & Learn The New York Terrorist - Hellbound Terror Ruffian - Cutter The Ender - Kill Everybody Liza 'N Eliaz & DJ Dano - Pawlow Bold Bob - Kick Ya B.C. Kid - All Or Nothing Psyche-Out - Hydra Blast The Bezerker - Once Upon A Cross I think we can all say in all honesty that some of these records have become all time Terror classics, and some... well, maybe not really deserve to be ignored, and some are just straight up silly, and dopey as fuck! Or maybe, just maybe, I don't understand the message behind the record. Case in point, Critical Mass' song 'Severe Trauma', a record which I never really liked. Don't know what they did smoke at the time of manufacturing this track, but it just reeks of nastiness. Not memorable, not even on an early Hardcore/Terror event, But the majority of these records are very good records. Like Dano's take on Terror. And let's not forget Stickhead's involvement in the scene, or what about the grandaddy of the scene Drokz. Gran pappy Drokz. Ouwe lul Drokz. As you all know, I love his music, and have been a fan since (funnily enough) the time I saw him at the Tunnel of Terror back in 1998 (Bussloo baby!). But which record (of each CD) deserves the most praise? Well, it was a difficult decision, but CD has got 'Lie & Die' by Count Negative & Drokz. Fucking epic dark anthem. A Terror classics for the history books: if you want to know how to write a Terror track, this could be a good example! Second CD has also got some classics. But sorry Drokz, this time it's not you, but it's 'Hellbound Terror' by The New York Terrorist. All in all a good CD. Not mixed. Just pure Terror. Well, Terror. It was a wide spectrum, we called a lot of things Terror. Speedcore? Yes, Terror. Normal Hardcore but a tad faster? That's Terror. A good CD, but not as good as the second instalment. If the second one would have 'Lie & Die', it would have been the greatest Terror album from the 90s for me. Artist: Various Artists Genre/Style: Hardcore, Terror, Speedcore CD Info: Tunnel Of Terror Length CD; 02:32:51 Release Year: 1998 Tracks: 36 (thirty-six) Label: Arcade International Product Number: 9902346 More Information: ---------

  • Techno Mix 2021 April - Best of Abel Blanes (Mixed By RTTWLR)

Remember a couple of days ago I spoke about me discovering an online Techno radio station? Well, today I'm going to talk about one of the mixes they have uploaded onto Youtube, which I had to share with you all. Obviously not the busty lady, that's not our main focus. But it's the music that is important, and today's mix is mixed by RTTWLR. And the tracks are all made by Abel Blanes. Now both names don't ring a bell, so I had to just listen to the mix, and see what both names have got to offer... Obviously one of the first things people look at, is the lady. And I had to quickly Google who's behind the names Abel Blanes and RTTWLR. And both don't resemble the lady above. But it's not about her, it's about the music, which is prominent in this mix. All tracks, and I do mean all tracks, are made by Abel Blanes. And whoever he is, he's made some wicked Techno anthems. It is difficult to judge someone's opinion if you aren't listening to the mix, so let's just straight into the tracklist and the mix itself. 42 minutes of DJ RTTWLR, playing Abel Blanes, and all can be found on Dark Monkey Music's Youtube channel. What more is there to say? Abel Blanes - Comfort Abel Blanes - It Was Beautiful Abel Blanes - Deep Red Abel Blanes - On Floor Abel Blanes - Communication Abel Blanes - Crazy Abel Blanes - Empty Streets Abel Blanes - One Second Abel Blanes - Yango Abel Blanes - The Work Of The Devil Abel Blanes - The Heart Is Deceitful Abel Blanes - Nowhere As I am currently in a Techno mood, I am really digging any kind/type of Techno. Oldskool, newskool, everything in between. I couldn't care less, as long as its Techno. And today's mix is kind of mellow, minimal Techno. If that's your thing, worth checking Abel Blanes out. As I'm not familiar with both names, I shall focus on the music. And I can be very brief about this: it's a wicked mix. I am really feeling the vibes. RTTWLR has done a good job, presenting his own skills, and also presenting Abel Blanes to me, and the rest of the world. Well, normally I would rant here and speak about things which are irrelevant, but let's not. It's Techno Tuesday, so let's fucking have it! Put your speakers on 10, and go mad! Really impressed with Abel's tunes. A name I will look out for! • 1989 - 1994 Old Skool Rave Classics / Hardcore Mix (Mickey B) (2020)

The weekend is happening. How is your weekend going? You all OK? You had an OK day? I think for the most of us it was sitting in front of the television, watching the funeral of Prince Philip. Obviously the country is currently in mourn for the loss, but we must be strong and unite again. To get us back up on our feet, I might have found a good mix for you all. I am guessing you are into Oldskool Rave music, right? Well, name someone who isn't? If you are, you have come to the right place! Someone called Mickey B made this mix last year, and uploaded it onto Youtube, where I found it. But because Youtube keeps on interrupting sets with ridiculous adverts, I had to go to Soundcloud, and listen to Mickey's set there. Don't know much about the DJ, but we share the same enthusiasm for the late 80s/early 90s Rave music. I absolutely adore it. And I always are slightly happier when I find a nice long mix with both well know and forgotten anthems, and this mix is full of them. So what is it you can expect in this mix? Well, a shit ton of excellent music. Some well known records, some you have heard at probably each rave you have ever been to, and some you might have heard back in the day, and completely forgot about. It's a mix of everything, so sit back, and enjoy. Or stand the fuck up, and start raving. Whatever you fancy, mate! 808 State - Pacific State Masters Of The Universe - Space Talk (Hyper Spaced Mix) Greed - Give Me Andronicus - Make You Whole (Original) Shades Of Rhythm - Sounds Of Eden Awesome 3 - Don't Go (Original Mix) Doc Scott - Surgery (Ordinary Mix) Wiz - Piano Xray Xperiments - Take No Chance The Invisible Men - Self Indulge Lennie De Ice - We Are I.E. And you wouldn't be wrong either. Big anthems, underground anthems. everything's in here. So put your raving shoes on, and let's get cracking! It's everything you needed to hear. Rave, Breakbeat, Hardcore, Jungle Techno, Happy Hardcore... you name it, it's in here. Was it a big style in 1989 to 1994, it's in here. And the tracks are by some of the finest producers, like 808 State, Doc Scott, Slipmatt (a.k.a. SMD), LTJ Bukem, and more. you are going to enjoy this set a lot. I did, so I suggest that you get ready for 2 hours of the rave sound that will ignite the spark within you. This is also a downloadable mix, so you can go mad if you want to, whenever and wherever. I do love this mix. Good selection of records, carefully mixed. And as difficult as it was to pick 1 records out of 41, I have to select two as my favourites: Join The Future by Manix, and Unit-E with Take 1. Big choons as the kids would say. Highly intoxicating mix. • Enter The Void [Dark Techno Mix] (2012)

The weekend has officially started, and it's time for us all to relax. Unless you are obviously still working, for which I do not envy you. If you aren't, and you are ready for the upcoming weekend, let's go in it in style! Let's play a mix filled with tunes of a specific kind, of a style I don't hear that often, but I should listen to much more than I already do: Dark Techno. Today's entertainment is brought to you by Doctor Space, and the mix was released back in 2012. Nearly classified as a golden oldie..... It is true though. I don't review that many Dark Techno mixes, or even Techno mixes in general, The last review was a Speedy J set from Shockers. And the one before that... that's a long time ago. I just never seem to find the time, but yesterday, whilst being in the office, I thought I'd go on Youtube, my loyal companion, and there it was: an online radio station that played Dark Techno music, 24/7. That made my day even better. The highlight of that day. So, guess what happened next? Well, I finished working roughly 1 hour ago, and I went onto Soundcloud, looking for a Dark Techno mix, with a tracklist. And that wasn't as easy as you might think. I had to sieve through quite a few mixes, only to find out that the tenth mix had a tracklist. And guess what? That's the one you are listening to right NOW! Or reading about. Depends on what you do first. Do you actually read this review, or do you think 'bollocks to all that, I'd go straight to the mix'? But, if you are like me, you might look at it and not have a clue who these producers are! I only know Cari Lekebusch. That's the only name in this list of 20. But it's not relevant who made the music, as long as the music is good. And the music is indeed good. It's not extremely dark, but still nice and dark. Sometimes it even hints to the mellow side of Techno, but do you give a shiny shite? Not really. At least the flow is good, and enjoyable. Doctor Space, whoever you might be, you've made a brilliant and highly regarded mix. Already 100k plays. 100k and one. I am really pleased I found this mix and it has made the entry into the weekend better. Smoother. Rougher. I know nothing about the DJ, nothing about the producers, but I do know one thing: this mix is one dope and tight ass mix! Play it, and enjoy it! • Goldie's Essential Mix on BBC Radio 1 - 1996

Sometimes you do rediscover a forgotten set. A set so damn good, you listened to it a lot in the good ol' days. This is one of those sets. I remember playing Need For Speed and having this on loud. Who cared about Gangsta Rap, when you can have this, eh? I never liked the game's music, so I decided to play this mix instead. And it always reminds me of playing for hours, whenever I hear Goldie's mix. It's a solid mix, that's for sure. And it's now 25 years ago since it aired on BBC Radio 1. Well, nearly 25 years ago, but still sounding fresh. Goldie does not need an introduction, nor does his music need any kind of explanation. He's not the first Drum and Bass producer/DJ, but he's certainly one of the biggest ones ever. An influence in the scene, and a pioneer. You know what the weird thing is? I actually read his autobiography, but I can't remember when Goldie started in the scene. He's been a stable force within the scene for many years, and back in 1996 he was asked to compose this mix for the legendary BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix show. And to me, it became the biggest Drum and Bass mix of all time. And even in 2021 he's recognised as a huge influence. But let's go back to 1996. A great year for Drum and Bass. Why, you might ask? Well, just look at the tracklist below. These were the anthems for that year, and years to come. And for you to realise that these are 25+ years old, it is probably another reminder that time is slowly passing by, without you knowing. Time flies, when you are having fun. To this day I do find this mix the finest Drum and Bass mix I have ever heard. Calm, relaxing, and yet powerful enough to vision yourself in a dark and underground club, somewhere in London, with minimalistic lightning equipment, but with big ass speakers. Nothing too fancy. The only thing you could do, is to close your eyes, and let Goldie take you by the hand, and lead you on this dark and unknown path. You would come out the other end a more powerful person. You will certainly be reborn, once this mix is over. Pure bliss. So which records did he use? He used these bad boy tracks: Rufige Kru - Dark Metal (Source Direct Remix) The Limit - Get Stoned Q-Project - Champion Sound (Doc Scott Remix) Doc Scott - Machines J Majik - Your Sound Dilinja - Promise Maximum Style - One 4 Da MCs (Hornz VIP) LTJ Bukem - Music (Happy Raw) Skanna - Find Me (Classic Skanna Mix) Blame - Planet Neptune Ed Rush - Killamanjaro Rufige Kru - VIP Rider's Ghost Doc Scott - Drumz '95 S.O.S. - Spacefunk Goldie - This Is A Baad (Source Direct Remix) Photek - The Rain (Remix) Lemon D - Urban Style Music Adam F - Circles Gang Related & Mask feat Bigger Star - Ready Or Not Goldie - Kemistry (Grooverider VIP) Goldie - Jah (Original Prototype) Goldie - Still Life VIP Blame & Justice - Essence (Jazz Testament) We can have a long discussion, but come on, let's just all appreciate this mix, and what Goldie has given us nearly 25 years ago. A 'timeless' classic. See what I did there? If you know Goldie, you will appreciate that joke. Anyway, let's turn our attention to this mix. This is one of those mixes which is shared over and over again, and can be found on literally every platform. Even Goldie released it under his official Soundcloud channel, but also on his Metalheadz channel. It is that good. There are many good mixes, but it seems that this one just tops them all. Well done Goldie. Well done. As I mentioned before, I used to listen to this mix when I was playing Need For Speed, and one track just made me park the car on the curb, and close my eyes, and enjoy life as it was. Come on, Skanna's 'Find Me'... how can you not like this one? Pure Drum and Bass gold! A true underground anthem. I wish I would hear this one more often. But what a big track, seriously. Goosebumps all over my body. 25 years old, still dope as fuck. Yes, the recording levels might have been a tad off, but remember, this was recorded back in the day. The oldskool way. DAT, cassettes, you name it. Pre-USB, pre 44,1 kHz sample rate. But does that matter? No fucking way. Just shut the fuck up, and appreciate this. Not the first time I've reviewed this mix, and certainly not the last. What a fucking epic mix. Close your eyes, and let Goldie lead you down the rabbit hole. So many classics, but only 1 Skanna record. Epic mix. Name one better than this in the comments below, and I'll judge it. But I'm guessing you are not able to provide me with one. So shut up and listen. And dance. • Next Generation Gabber (Total Destruction Records Showcase Mix Vol 2) (2021)

The day hasn't ended yet, another review for you all, if you are interested. If not, please go elsewhere, but if you are interesting, and you like the 90s Gabber sound, you are in for a treat. You might have heard of a label called Total Destruction, and if you have, you are probably a huge fan of the label, as much as I am. I am guessing (and hoping I've got the info right). but I am presuming that this label is led by DJ Casketkrusher. This is a label that tries to keep the gabber sound from the 90s alive and kicking. Not by releasing older tunes, but releasing new tunes, which are in the same style as the tunes from back in the days. A Soundcloud page called 'Dance Anarchy' made this mix 4 months ago. A showcase mix, if you would like to call it. Dedication mix could also be a good name for it. As I'm not an expert in the technicalities, I can only judge the music. But if you are a whizkid and know what kind of equipment was used back in the 90s, you will love this kind of music. It sounds so generic. It sounds so 90s. If you are unaware, you could even presume that these were old tunes mixed together. But they aren't. These are all brand spanking new tunes, with the old school twist to it. And Dance Anarchy thought it would be a great idea to make this mix, showing what this label is capable of. Seeing as I've listened to many mixes made by Casketkrusher, I am aware of the style they have, and what their purpose is. And the music, ladies and gentlemen, is excellent. Most tunes have this 95 to 97 sound surrounding it. You know exactly what I mean when you hear the tunes. I think it's time now for the tracklist. And it's a good one. Be prepared, is all that I'm saying.... DJ Razor & Disembowelment - How Do Ya' Like It? Ginger & Plegine - Rock In Your Face Rodox - Trading Under The Influence Re-Charge - Why Can't We See? (Casketkrusher Remix) DJ Ad - Ma Casio Casketkrusher & The Soul Seeker - At War Casketkrusher - Break This Motherfucker (Original Mix) DJ Ad - Hardcore Flow Autotomize - Gold & Silver Casketkrusher vs E-Core - Ready To Rave! Disembowelment - Master Of Hardcore Warhead - I Love Tempo Sygna 2000 - Gabba House Earprotector - I Control Your Mind (Mindcontrol) Maynor - Get Up & Party Luffy & Gilda - Nobody Does It Better (Casketkrusher Remix) The Manipulator - Manipulative Pill Casketkrusher - Powerpuff Hardcore DJ Ad - No Brain Casketkrusher - Let's Go Crazy! (Maynor Remix) Casketkrusher - The Way Of The Ninja (DJ Ad Remix) Casketkrusher - Feel The Beat Casketkrusher - Mix Operator Casketkrusher - Let The Bass Go! (Da Bitchen' Remix) DJ Ad - What The Heck (Old's Cool Mix) Casketkrusher - Razors Through Flesh The Soul Seeker - The Smoker DJ Ad - Izz Da Message Casketkrusher - Miko's Revenge Malice - The Stomper If you wanted to hear an oldskool 90s Gabber mix, look no further. You have found it, and you will have to thank me for making sure you found this mix. And then you will thank Dance Anarchy for making this mix, and thank Total Destruction Records for releasing these tunes. What a fantastic label it is! Really enjoyed this mix. I really am in awe of what this label does for the lover of the 90s sound. Not many labels do maintain this style, and make it work as well as Total Destruction does. I don't even know that many other labels who do the same, and have got the same passion and dedication as they do. The sound is awesome, and so is this mix. Maybe the actual recording level was a tad low and not up to spec, but still manageable. A few small mixing errors, but nothing major. A nice and welcoming mix to end yet another week in lockdown. Time to embrace the next week, and why not go in style? If you fancy Gabber, look no further. The best record in this mix? I've got to give it to Casketkrusher and his 'Mix Operator'. Super dope and awesome record. And also DJ Ad's 'Ma Casio'. Proper old skool vibes! I really love dedication mixes, like this one. I need to hear more mixes like this one, and need to hear more from Total Destruction. I know for sure these guys have got more in store for us! • Hardcore Countdown by Masters of Hardcore | Angerfist (2020)

2020 ended roughly 4 months ago, and yet we are still in this ongoing dream. COVID still has us by the balls, and the only thing we can do is wait and hope it will be over soon. 2020 had been a weird year, and had to end in a good way, celebrating the good year to come. Leave that up to Masters Of Hardcore. They decided to organise this online event, called 'Hardcore Countdown', with DJs such as Angerfist, Never Surrender, N-Vitral, F.Noize, and a Hardcore countdown to 2021, and a special 2020 MOH Yearmix. You went out of the old shitty year in style. They obviously had to ask the man with the mask to lead the raving community toward the end of the year. The man I'm referring to is of course Angerfist. If you say Masters of Hardcore, you obviously firstly think of Angerfist. You might have heard of him, right? He's been doing great things, he might one day be the best DJ in the Hardcore scene. He's only been in the scene for a short period of time, but he has potential. If you read that previous bit and think 'that TCD bloke is insane', you clearly don't know sarcasm. Of course the whole world knows Angerfist, and what he's capable of. He's been a stable force within the scene since the Millennium, and has been the number 1 Hardcore DJ for many years, and has gathered a cult following all over the world. I might be prejudice seeing as I appreciate his music, but I'm guessing he's the biggest Hardcore DJ and producer in the world, right? I can't think of another DJ who comes close to what Angerfist has achieved so far. An obvious choice for MoH to have him end the horrible year that was 2020. For 57 minutes he took us on a journey, and that journey was a hard and rough one. We had to end the year in style, and only Angerfist is capable of us raising our fists in the air, and flipping of the year. I sadly missed the set, because I was intoxicated, but thanks to Youtube for being the platform it is, and capable of having this set on there. So which tunes did Angerfist use for his last set of 2020? Well, you don't need to guess: heres' the tracklist: Angerfist - Revolution Nosferatu - The Hood Tha Playah & Broken Minds - Erased From The Dead Unfused - Avoid Failure Angerfist & Tieum - Just Know Angerfist - Born To Rule The Outside Agency - The Fabric Of Life DJ Mad Dog - That's The Sound Angerfist & Tha Watcher - Face My Style Angerfist - Mighty Methods vs Incoming (Mashup) Angerfist & Miss K8 - Madrid Gridkiller - Revenge Angerfist & Mike Redman - Reprogrammer Bloodcage - Bloodline Odium & MC Syco - #WORLDWIDEDOMINATION Angerfist - Who Still Cares? (Tears Of Fury Remix) Skinrush - Facebreaker (Rapture Remix) Mindustries - Craftiest Trick Tieum & Angerfist - Smile About That Miss K8 - Hardcore Generation D-Fence - Covid 19 Angerfist & Tha Playah - The Heartless Never Surrender & Angerfist & Nolz - Off The Chain N-Vitral - Start A Riot Tharoza - Brain Confusion Detest - The Return So this happened. 57 minutes and 26 records all crammed in. You think you would end the year on a low? Hell no, not if it's up to Angerfist. He made sure you were moving your feet as fast as possible. He does what he does best. He keeps the entertainment level high. And he plays a lot of bangers. There's no way of you just sitting still during this set. And you might be wondering how I stumbled across this set, right? Well, I was listening to one of Angerfist older albums, and I had the urge to hear more of him. A quick search on the old Google took me to this set. I am happy that they did. Really enjoyed the set. As usual, I pick one favourite record. And that was quite easy: Nosferatu with 'The Hood'. Fight me if you disagree. Anyway, this set. There's no negative feedback to be given. He does what he does best, and makes sure we are raving as hard as fuck. There's a good reason why he's the best Hardcore DJ in the world. And not only the best DJ, but also one of the finest producers out there. Go get this down you. Let's relive the end of a horrible year, and hope 2021 is going to be much more pleasant to all of us. Fuck COVID, bring back the rave! • Pure Freeform 3 (Mixed By Substanced) (2019)

Happy Saturday. We are getting closer to the end of lockdown, and that could mean that we are raving soon! Some countries all over the world have already reduced restrictions, and hopefully the UK will follow suit soon. Until then, and it's not long from now, we have to make do with whatever is online. And for all you Freeform fans, I've got a mix you definitely need to check out, if you haven't already. And before you get all pedantic: yes, I am fully aware that this mix was released 2 years ago, and I have saved it under my favourites, but never came around to listen to this yet, and review it. I will never be too late to enjoy music, right? It could even be that he's already done more than 3 mixes. He could have reached his 27th instalment of this 'Pure Freeform' mix series, and I've completely missed them. I am being a fool here of course, but I am trying to explain why I'm late with reviewing this mix. Anyway, the mix. I've reviewed the first and the second mix in this series, but now it's time for the third instalment. A lot of good feedback on Soundcloud, and there's good reason why. And even I commented on it. Jeez, it's not looking well for me. I should have reviewed it. Or have I even reviewed this? Shit, I'm not sure now. Well, let's all focus on the tracks that Substanced used for this mix. Are you ready for the tracklist? Orkidea - Unity (Substanced Bootleg) Pain On Creation - Hypnodisc Rikki Arkitech - AI Danger Rank 1 - Airwave (Betwixt & Between Bootleg) Substanced - Jade Transcend - Reflective Harmony Substanced - Blue Remembered Earth Transcend - Existasis Substanced - Heart Of Time (Kounta Kulture Remix) Hyphen - Argonaut Transcend feat Zealous - The Promise Substanced - Beautiful Black (Carbon Based Remix) Kokomochi - White Heron Transcend & Dyzphazia - Tormenting Flames Sanaas - Beast Out Alek Szahala - Voices Of Babylon The mix is as tight as you want it to be, and the records are dope. Seriously dope. Unless you are a hater of Freeform, and in that case, do one. Seriously, how can you dislike Freeform music? It's Trance, but faster, harder, and sometimes better. You freaking idiot. Substanced is a well known figure in the Freeform scene, and much respected for his productions, and in this mix you can find a few of his own productions in here, but also a few by other producers such as Transcend, Rikki Arkitech, Alek Szahala, and more. All well respected and much loved producers. I think the main reason why I am drawn toward this mix is the fact that in this specific mix there's a record so good, it has become everything I want to hear in a Freeform track. It takes you all the way to Heaven and back. It's of course 'Jade', Substanced biggest floor filler ever. Disagree? Well, bite me. This record has got literally everything right, and it gets the crowd going. Such an underrated record, it deserves so much more respect! Obviously the other 15 records are great, but not as great as 'Jade'. But close enough though. I've not heard one track in this mix which I hated or disliked, or even felt sorry for. 16 amazing dancefloor smashers. I can't wait to get back raving, and hopefully we can all do it safely, and sound. Just a few more weeks until we are back dancing. Until then, let Substanced take you on a journey through the beautiful style called Freeform!! Epic mix, as usual! • The Remix Mix (2021)

It is Easter Monday! Hope you are all having a splendid day, and enjoying the peace and quietness. And eat as many chocolate eggs as you can. When you are stuffing your face with all these lovely items, why not have something playing in the background, to keep you company? A brand new mix by the History Of Happy Hardcore Soundcloud channel might cheer you right up? You might have guessed this to be a Happy Hardcore mix, but you are oh so wrong. This is certainly not one of those mixes. This is the Remix mix. And it contains every kind of style. But the track has got to be a remix, those are the criteria which have to be met. It's a good concept, only remixed versions in a mix. And for this, they have gone all the way. You name the style, and it's in here. And some are seriously impressive anthems you might have heard before, or not. I would say that most of these are known by yours truly, but not these remixed versions. 75% known, 25% unknown. Or thereabouts. This is not a maths class, who gives a shiny shite about statistics and numbers? So, this isn't a Happy Hardcore mix, but what is it? The concept should be clear to you, but which styles do they touch upon? House, Techno, Trance, Hard Trance, Hard House, Electro, Progressive, etc. All Dance tune. And they have gone all in. The tracklist does look impressive, and it makes me wonder how he found these anthems? And especially these versions? Some are truly obscure anthems, I've not even hear them before. Let's dive straight into the tracklist, and show you the wonders of today's mix: Felix Da Housecat vs Sasha - Watching Cars Go By (Sasha Remix) Trisco - Musak (Wonderland Avenue Remix) iiO - Rapture (John Creamer & Stephane K Remix) Tiesto - Traffic (Tristan Garner Remix) Funkagenda - What The Fuck Benny Benassi - Satisfaction (Afrojack reMIX) Tomas Andersson - Washing Up (Tiga Remix) Azzido Da Bass - Dooms Night (Timo Maas Remix) Southside Spinners - Luvstruck (Timo Maas Remix) Darude - Sandstorm (JS16 Remix) Lock 'N' Load - Blow Ya Mind (Club Caviar Remix) Members Of Mayday - 10 In 01 (Paul van Dyk Club Mix) Da Hool - Meet Her At The Love Parade (Airwave Remix) Utah Saints - Lost Vagueness (Oliver Lieb's Main Mix) Energy 52 - Cafe Del Mar (Cafe Del Marco V Remix) Cosmic Gate - Fire Wire (LCF Remix) Snap! - Rhythm Is A Dancer (CJ Stone Remix) Joy Kitikonti - Joyenergizer (Physical Mix) Phatt B - And Da Drum Machine (BK Remix) Jonah - Sssst....Listen (Pants & Corset Remix) You do know most of these, right? Tell me that you know most of these? Or maybe just the original versions of these? They have done a wicked job with this tracklist. I love this concept, and they should do it more often. More remix mixes. The more, the better. Yes, it's nice to hear the original versions, but sometimes a remix could be better, or improve the record. Or even be worst. You can see that in this mix too (sadly). Let me get one thing straight: I'm not a hater of remixes, but they should be done correctly. If not carried out correctly, it should not even be seen or heard by anyone. Just simply delete the file, remove it forever. Like Afrojack's version of 'Satisfaction'. What a horrible record. The original was already an annoying yet catchy tune, but this version is just meh. And the first record used in this mix, what's that all about? Quirky galore! But then you get to the big anthems. The big beasts. Like 'Dooms Night', '10 In 01', 'Joyenergizer', 'Meet Her At The Love Parade', 'Rapture'.... seriously impressive tunes, and some of these are better than the originals. Don't hate me for saying that. It's just the truth. But, let's agree, two records in this mix are way above all the others. One of them is 'Cafe Del Mar', remixed by Marco V, an all-time classic, and 'Washing Up', remixed by Tiga. Don't hear that beast very often. A very interesting mix. Cool concept. More of this please. Now continue stuffing your face, you earned it! • EIGEN HUIS IN PUIN VOL. 06 (2020)

Today was a good day. The day after Good Friday, and I'm guessing it could be 'OK Saturday'? I don't know the official title of the day after, but who cares? Me and the missus went out for our 'shopping' trip to M&S, only to find out that most of the stuff wasn't available, so our journey back to normality was cut short. Not bad to be fair, at least we left the house and got some fresh air. We also visited relatives in Milton Keynes, which in hindsight was a good thing to do, and should do more often. Sometimes staying indoors for too long might drive you mad, and will create havoc. If your house has suffered from havoc, this mix might be perfect for you. That was a word play on the title of this mix, which on itself is a word play of a TV show of the 90s, which was on RTL4, if I can recollect correctly. 'Eigen Huis In Puin' means 'own house in ruins'. Well, if you didn't figure that out by looking at the image above, you might need to redo your Dutch language lessons. On a serious note, let's talk about this brand new mix that I'm sharing with you all. This is yet another mix series I need to follow. Pff, like I haven't got other mix series to follow. My timeline is getting more and more filled with mix series. But some are worth it. This is one of them. I've not heard a Rawstyle mix in a while, so it was a nice thing to press play and wait for Bionicle to provide me with the finest and rawest beats available. As this is the sixth instalment, I've got some catching up to do. But for now let's focus on this instalment, which was only released 4 months ago. And it's an hour of Rawstyle madness. That's nice to hear on a Saturday evening, right? Might give you some boost to get ready for the upcoming Summer period, when we are back out raving, right? So, which records has Bionicle used for this mix? Well, these: Warface - Catalyst Rebelion - Bassline Junkie B-Front & Deetox - Cosmos Bloodlust - Smash Your Brain Zany & DV8 - Fever Tommyknocker - Twist Deetox - Bring The Riot Minus Militia - Riot Music Warface - I Need You (Bionicle Edit) Vazard - Return To The Rhythm Laminate - Misunderstood TNT & Ruffneck - Mindcontroller 2k20 Bionicle - Pressure B-Front & Digital Punk - For The Girls Vazard & Delete - Explosions T.C.C. - That Acid Tho Ncrypta & Fraw - Omega The Purge & Sickmode - Right Now B-Front & Thera - R.E.M. Coma (DJ Thera Live Mix) Rebelion - Corruption Rooler - Extinguish Tommyknocker - T-2002 Partyraiser - Prankish Masterpiece Tripped - Fuck The Millennium As you can see there's a lot of Rawstyle in here, but at the end we go slightly faster and tougher. Now, what's harder than Rawstyle? Hardcore. So in general, you will get an hour of hard music pumping through your speakers. And isn't that what we are all craving for? But it obviously depends on what kind of music has your preference? Hardcore? Rawstyle? You choose. Tonight I'm in a more Rawstyle-y mood. After hearing the first few records in this mix, I got hyped up to the max, and have to choose Rawstyle over Hardcore. And it's also because I've not heard Rawstyle in a while. Bionicle's mix is a very interesting one, with a few newer and older anthems, but all in all a very interesting mix. Some seriously impressive tracks, and also a track by Bionicle himself. But which is the record of this mix that gets my heart pounding the fastest? Rebelion's 'Bassline Junkie'. This record has appeared in many mixes, and still packs that punch. Really dope anthem. A fantastic mix. Really got me happy. No need to experience a boring Saturday evening. If you can't be fucked to watch Ant & Dec on TV, and you want to hear something cool, why not play this mix? This will be at least 10 times better than anything on TV. And that's a fact. • Autobiography Of A Rave Kid Part VI (2021)

The weekend has landed. It is Good Friday, and you are probably getting excited to start munching on those blooming Easter chocolate eggs. Not really sure where the bunny and the chocolate eggs were mentioned in the Bible, or what their connection is to the big J, but hey ho. If you are not fussed about this, and you are happy you've got a few days off, let's focus on some good music to get you through the week. And it's a bloody long week too! 4 whole days of doing fuck all, that sounds appealing to all of us, right? Selectabwoy has got you covered. He made sure that this Friday was going to be a good day. And truth be told, I wasn't even aware he made this sixth mix in this legendary mix series. I actually had a few other mixes lined up, but couldn't be fucked to listen to them, or rate them. Some were hours long, and I don't have the patience to sit here for hours. Nah, I'm someone who likes his mix to be nice and compact, and Selectabwoy has done that yet again. A mix nearly 70 minutes long, with a lot of happy stomping Breakbeat Hardcore Jungle Techno anthems. That's a mouth full. But you know it's going to be a great mix when you see his name attached to it. He always, and I do mean it, delivers. Not like Deliveroo or JustEat. Nah, he delivers the heat, the fire, the bangers, the choons! Yeah, I'm trying to talk street, look where that is leading me.... All jokes aside, Selectabwoy has indeed selected the finest anthems from the good old raving years. The Jungle anthems you are waiting for. Just have a butcher at the tracklist and you know why I'm repping this mix. SDR & Subsonic - Watch Dis Space Part 2 (Digital Pressure Remix) DJ Seduction - Really Dark (But Not Too Dark Mix) Tango - Future Followers (VIP Mix) Eze-G - Stepping Up DJ Krome & Mr. Time - The Slammer (Nookie Remix) Static Substance - Seventh Hour Frantic & Impulse - Untitled (Volume 1A) Double X-Posure - Deep As Fuck Naughty Naughty - Untitled (Volume 2A - Yellow Side) Tango & Fallout - Intrigue Criminal Minds - Drums Of Doom (Slipmatt Remix) Jack 'n' Phil - Unity (Instrumental Mix) Intense - The Quickeninig Intense - Paradox Fast Floor - 1000 Phons International Rude Boyz - Drum Programme Out Of Order - Stung Remarc - One 4 Da Vibes Overdubb - Eruption (3D Mix) The Dok - Strings Of Life '94 Nookie - Shining In Da Darkness I've been listening to this mix over and over again, and it still surprises me how awesome these tracks are, and how they have stood the test of time. And the listeners on Soundcloud agree that this mix is dope. As someone on Soundcloud used the word 'vintage', that is a cool definition of oldskool anthems. Vintage. I like that. I might use that from now on. Most people will be sitting in front of their television, bored stiff, and there's no good reason to do so. Get off your arse, and start playing Selectabwoy mixes. Trust me, the bloke has got hundreds of mixes. If you are not a fan of this mix, you might like one other, I am sure. I've reviewed many in the past, and have also nominated him for the DJ Mag Top 100. Sadly he wasn't in the top 100, but to me he is in mine. Not just the top 100, but top 5! Fucking wicked DJ, and sometimes he does surprise you with another slamming mix. Slamming, as this one. Selectabwoy was inspired by some old vintage mixes by artists such as Ratty, Slipmatt, and more, and in the future there will be kids out there who will make mixes after being inspired by Selectabwoy. That day will come. All in all a wicked mix, with deep underground anthems. It made us who we are, and who we will be. This is part of our heritage, and I'm glad that I can consider myself the vintage music lover. The oldskool fan. Like most of you. It was difficult to pick one anthem, but I go with Remarc's 'One 4 Da Vibes'. Proper Happy vibes coming through my speakers. Really enjoy that record. It's been a while since I last heard it. Goosebumps all over my body! Selectabwoy, you sir, are a legend! • Masters Of Hardcore 2021 Insurrection Mix By Jehuty

Only a few hands ago did this album see the light of day, and already can you find a DJ mix on Soundcloud. And I could just let this mix go by, but I simply couldn't resist. Another mix by DJ Jehuty, who has made a shit ton of mixes already, so if you are into Hardcore, you will be assured that his Soundcloud page is the right place to be. But for now, let's focus on the mix. As mentioned, these are all tracks from Masters Of Hardcore's latest CD, which is called 'Insurrection'. As the whole world has 'stopped' raving, I lost track of albums being released. That's all my fault, it's me being extremely lazy. Soundcloud and Youtube are the only pages I visit lately, can't be arsed to go on Facebook or anywhere else much. Hence why I've missed the release of this album. But for this latest MoH album they've yet again got the biggest Hardcore superstar producers on one disc. As previously mentioned, I'm not following the current Hardcore scene, and that's because I'm getting older now, and start focussing more on the early Hardcore and Millennium Hardcore. Still a big fan of MoH, but the newer sound sometimes doesn't appeal to me. So, crazy Dutchman, why the fuck are you listening to an album which contains only new and fresh Hardcore anthems, huh? Explain yourself? Well, I can. I just wanted to know what the current sound sounds like. Yes, that's a cheesy answer, but it does make sense in my head. So which 16 records can you find on the album? Well, these 16: Anime - No Matter DJ Mad Dog - MEAN STREETS Angerfist & Miss K8 - Break Of Dawn Tha Playah - Stand Up Evil Activities & Korsakoff - Shadows Re-Style - We Are Hardcore Nosferatu - Play With The Rhythm N-Vitral & MC Jeff - The Butcher Restrained - Rulebreaker Never Surrender & Brutaal - Ready To Rage Furyan - The Impossible Deadly Guns - The Fear Inside D-Fence - Integrity Broken Minds - Storm In The Quiet DRS & Madsin - Lockdown Andy The Core & MBK - Crazy Things At Night I have to say that my first impression of this album is quite good. As it's still not my favourite kind of Hardcore, it still impressed me a lot, and a few records even came close to being 'awesome'. One record even touched the old skool vibes a lot, and that's the one that I like the most. But which one that is, I'll keep a secret for now. I don't know how to explain it, but sometimes it's a tad too hard and rough for me. And not that extremely diverse as I wanted it to be. But this album did surprise me. And Jehuty has done a nice job, mixing these 16 records all together nicely. I am someone who appreciates the early sound, and am a fan of melodic Hardcore. Guess where it takes me? To 'Play With The Rhythm' by Nosferatu. It is hard as balls, but it's got those kicks and beats from the early years, and that's what I like. A tad of everything, all crammed together in one wicked record by Nosferatu. And of course the Uptempo sound had to be used for this record too, but that I can forgive Nosferatu. I do like 'We Are Hardcore' and 'Shadows' and 'Break Of Dawn'. Or even 'The Impossible'. Well, a few good anthems on here, which I will doubtfully hear everywhere soon. They will appear in many mixes and once the world is allowed to rave again, at raves all over the globe. But for now you can just purchase the album and have your MoH fix, if you are desperate for it. • DJ Razz - Gerse Deuntjes Voor In De Auto #2 - Mary Goes Wild Again (2020)

As you all know, I'm an advocate for diverse mixes, and on this Sunday evening I think I have found a good mix for you all. And seeing as you reading this, it probably means that you are into diverse music too? Judging the title of this mix it was made by someone from the Netherlands, or Belgium. Not heard of DJ Razz before, but trust me, his mix is one dope ass mix. If you were looking for something outside of the standard box, this is the perfect mix for you all. At first I thought this mix was focussed on Tech House due to the title of this mix (Mary Goes Wild), and the first few tunes were indeed Techno-ish tunes, but it quickly escalated to literally everything under the Sun. Techno, Jumpstyle, oldskool Rave, Hard House, Hard Techno, Hard Trance, House... you name it, and it's in here. It's a good combination of styles, all crammed in a 2 hour long mix. It's a good mix to listen to when you are going to drive a long journey. You don't want to hear those boring radio tunes, you want to hear everything all at once. And DJ Razz gives you exactly that! It is messed up, this mix. He goes from one style to the next, and it shows when you look at the tracklist. It is super diverse, got to give DJ Razz that. This takes me back to my clubbing years, when the DJ would literally play everything he wanted. Not bound to one style or one genre. I remember the good days in Heerlen, Maastricht, Valkenburg, etc. I would be completely gone by 1 o'clock at night. But I had a brilliant time. Out with my mates, listening to wicked ass tunes. This reminds me of those days. Seeing as I know nothing about the DJ, let me show you the tracklist, and let it blow your mind! It is something else, and the comments on Soundcloud underline the uniqueness of this mix. It's crazy! Wildchild - Renegade Master (Fatboy Slim Oldschool Mix) Outlander - Vamp Faithless - Insomnia Charlotte de Witte - Wisdom Jaydee - Plastic Dreams Adam Beyer feat Green Velvet & Layton Giordani - Data Point Benjamin Bates - The Manimal Low Atomic Style - Atomic Playboy Ramirez - Hablando (Hablando Acordeón Mix) Roentgen Limiter - The Old School Ben Dust - Endo (N.O.B.A. Remix) SRVD - Talking 2 B Mad A*S*Y*S - The Acid Dandi & Ugo feat Steve Soprani - Answer (N.O.B.A. Remix) N.O.B.A. - Sampled I.P. Roentgen Limiter - 1992 N.O.B.A. - Apollo Da Hool - Meet Her At The Love Parade Cherry Moon Trax - Needle Destruction Grooveyard - Mary Go Wild! Charlotte de Witte - Form Charlotte de Witte - Selected Master Techno - My Noise The Ultimate Seduction - House Nation (Piano Mix) Mory Klein - Kick That Bass (Club Mix) DJ Seb B - Mass Noise FC Boulogne - On Rain Gangs From L.A. - Metamorphose Da Rick - Attention Robert Armani - Watch It The Bad People - Rex DJ Isaac feat Mad-E-Fact - Shuffle To Da Middle DJ Boneyard - I Survived 2K18 The Ultimate Seduction - Nightmare Walking Klubbheads - Raise Your Hands (Klubbheads Old School Remix) Klubbheads - Klubbslang Klubbheads - Big Bass Bomb (Flexx Klubb Mix) Virtual Zone - Virtual Zone (Club Mix) The Moon - Sushi Da Rick - Rumble DJ Tiesto - Flight 643 Retro Junky - Played By The DJ DJ Ze Mig.L - Drunk Chicken (DJ Glenn vs DJ Dex Powerpunch Remix) DJ Vince - The First The Horrorist - Flesh Is The Fever Vicious Delicious - Hocus Pocus (Bow Chi Bow) Mike Dunn - Magic Feet (DJ Francois 2012 Edit) Joe Inferno - Tribual Church Joe Inferno - Hysteria Crowd Control - Transformer Private Productions - Looped Felix Project - On The Floor (Mark With A K Remix) DJ Glenn vs The Voltage Club - Silent Six (Remix) Yes.This is one insane tracklist, and if you ask me, I don't know how DJ Razz did this so effortlessly. I don't know how he pulled it off. It's like he doesn't give a shiny shite about the style or genre, he plays whatever he wants to play. And if the next track is a completely different style, pfff, not too difficult for DJ Razz. On a more serious note, the mix is impressive. And it's so good. The title of his mix contains the bit 'deuntjes voor in de auto', which translates to 'tunes for in the car'. This will certainly be my guilty pleasure mix when I go back into the office next Wednesday. It's got everything I want, and everything I didn't even know I needed. So many styles/genres crammed into this 2 hour long mix. DJ Razz did his best to get our attention, and he certainly grabbed mine from the first second to the last. It is seriously impressive. I really liked it a lot. The mix contains whatever you fancy, and some more. Even early Gabber tunes! How about that, eh? I am really impressed. Not so much in regards to a few of the records, but that's just a personal opinion. But all in all a very good and entertaining mix. He's gained another follower on Soundcloud: me! Best record? Fuck me, there are loads. The Moon with 'Sushi'. Good Hard House anthem!
