  • A Tribute To Shockers (2022)

Shockers, do you remember Shockers? Did you go to a Shockers event, or did you purchase one of the CDs? I am one of those people, and I do certainly miss the Shockers series. Can't remember if I did go to a Shockers event, might have done? I've drank so much alcoholic beverages throughout the late 90s and early 2000s, I might have gone to parties, but completely out of this world. Now I'm older (and wiser, I think), and I can look back at this glorious brand. A brand focussed on Techno music during the first years, and slowly transitioning to other harder styles, such as Hard Trance, Hard House, and of course, Hardstyle. Last year I got rid of 99.9% of my CDs, as there's no need for them anymore. Stored them all on a hard drive, but even though I don't own them anymore, I do know exactly which ones I had and didn't. And with the Shockers compilation, I know I didn't own them all. Should I be ashamed? Well, maybe. Maybe not. But what I do know, is that the ones I did own, I adored. I played them over and over, and they became so ruined, scratches literally were everywhere! I was contacted via social media by Silvio Aquila, who I've reviewed before, mentioning the fact that he's uploaded a brand spanking new mix, focussed on the Shockers compilation and the legacy it left behind (and it certainly left a huge gap behind). Obviously, I had to jump on it straight away, as I'm a sucker for the early Millennium sounding Techno and other harder styles. So that's exactly what I did, hence why you are reading this review as we speak. If he didn't mention his latest mix, I would have missed it, and that would have been a disgrace. I needed a bit of Shockers, and was happy to find this (and listen to it). 2 hours of Shockers, 2 ours of madness. Are you ready for it? Tube Tech - The End Max Walder - Workstation Hiver & Hammer - Step By Step (Hands On Divine) Saccoman - Metamorph (Part 2) Michael Burkat - Simply Pounce Shithead - Techno Perversion Emmanual Top - Turkish Bazar (Reeloop Remix) Acid Step - Lazy Deadly Force - Self Defence (Party Mix) Analog System - Strange Morning In December Fabio MC - Impact Dave Joy - First Impression (S.H.O.K.K. Remix) Cosmic Commando - Heartbreak (Arne L II Remix) Yves Deruyter - Calling Earth 2002 DJ Zany - Ardesso Under Construction - Umleitung (DJ Shredda Remix) DJ Narcotix - HC Impression Marc La Cruz - Krieg Gegen Die Maschinen (Baced Mix) Giada - Chains Activator - NRG Overdog - Fuck U Up (Club Mix) Clemens Neufeld - Impact Piero Zeta & Manuel Es - Warfare Frederik - Musica (Frederik Goes To Hardstyle Mix) Droid - Focus (Uptempo Mix) Smurref - Sonic Storm Luna - In Control Atlantic Wave - Reforced (Giada Remix) PCJ - The Dome Ultrasonic - Ultrabass What a tracklist! A good selection by Silvio. But that's to be expected. This compilation was (and still is) a huge collection to own. And music was always better back in the days, am I right? This mix is a good one. I've enjoyed it a lot, and have played it over and over multiple times already. But that's not something you wouldn't expect of me: anything that reminds me of the Millennium years will be played over and over. Why? Because I'm a sucker for music from my youth. A solid selection, and this raises another question: what do you prefer? Techno, Hardstyle, Hard Trance, or Hard House? Which style did you prefer the most from around the year 2000? My background is Hardcore, so you would expect the hardest of them all, but I do love the Hard Trance sound from back in the day. And when 'Fuck U Up' started playing, I lost the plot. My God, completely forgot about this tune! What a slammer. They don't make tracks like this one anymore. What a wicked tune! At first, when I pressed play, I was a tad disappointed. Hearing 'The End'. What a dreadful song imho, but after this initial hurdle, the tracks only became better and better. A solid mix, really enjoyable, and downloadable! So what else is there to wish for? #BRINGBACKSHOCKERS! • THE PROPHET MONSTERMIX (BY DJ PROMO) (2016)

I've been quiet for the last few days, but that's only because I've been slightly busy. Not doing nothing, but I've been working my ass off. To accompany me throughout the day, I ALWAYS listen to music, and since The Prophet has been announcing his retirement a few months ago, and also the announcement of albums being released (I think they have been released by the time you read this review), I've been into this mood. Not a bad mood. More like a melancholic mood. As sad as I am for the fact that he's retiring, at least he is to be remembered for his music. And his music has been great for many years, many decades to be fair.... He's been a legend since the early 90s, and have meant a lot to the Hardcore fanatics. Active as a DJ in the 80s, but to the gabber community he became this big artist back in 1991. His The Prophet alias wasn't the only one had, and it's something I've only discovered recently how many he had (here's a few of them): The Masochist, Carlos Masseratti, Commotion, Cookiemunsta, Dopeman, George Washington, Nina Feranzano, Pineapple Jack, The Washington Affair, and more. Maybe the one that I heard the first, was the alias 'The Rose'. But yeah, the name The Prophet got stuck, and since the early 90s he's been giving us so many memorable dancefloor anthems. During the 30+ years in the music scene he's been through a lot, and you can hear his music developing itself into the one we fell in love with at a later stage during the 90s. He had his own 'sound', his own 'style', but when he started in the House scene, he obviously had to develop himself as a producer, and in this mix (which is 4+ hours long), you can hear him grow into this superstar producer. This mix wasn't made by The Prophet himself, but another superstar DJ and producer. You might recognise the name DJ Promo, yes? 6 years ago he made two absolute monster mixes: one for The Prophet, and the other for DJ Dano. And you know you will experience something beautiful, when it's a DJ Promo made mix. 73 records, 4 1/2 hour long mix, and the finest records made by Dov Elkabas, a.k.a. The Prophet. Now comes the daunting task of typing the tracklist. Hopefully you'll appreciate it... well, here we go! Collage - Steady Pounding Avantguarde - The Source IQ - Voodoo The Prophet - I Get Hyped The Prophet - Dundee The Rose - Butterly's Carlos Maserati - Close Up The Prophet - Spirits Of Soul The Prophet - Feel It The Prophet - Roll The Place The Prophet - I Love You Doobey - We're Here The Prophet & Mad Dog - Skaos The Prophet - Live Together Marquiz De Sade - S.O.A.B. The Prophet is certainly one name that is legendary, and his status remains untouched. Since the early 90s he's given us many excellent Hardcore anthems, and they are timeless classics. So many of these 73 songs are classics, wouldn't you agree? It is admirable to hear all these tunes. The Prophet has left a legacy behind, a legacy he should (and probably will) be proud of. It is really important to underline the importance of him as a producer for the scene, and what he has made over the years. His productions have been growing on me for years. Well, I was a fan of Hardcore in general in the 90s, but now I start to develop more of an affection for certain artists, knowing their importance and their strength and what their music did for me. And The Prophet is certainly one artist I really appreciate. Does that mean every single record was a hit? No. And a few of the songs in this mix aren't certainly The Prophet's finest songs. But during the 90s he was constantly evolving, and you can certainly hear that in this appreciation mix. He had to fabricate a 'The Prophet' sound, and once he did that, he made it his own, and expand it as much as possible. That distinctive sound got better and better, but yeah, not always were his songs a success. But that's only a handful of times, when I really didn't appreciate his songs. Maybe it's his early work, the songs pre Thunderdome 8. Some are really good, and some aren't. His best work was around Thunderdome 12, the one with the spider on it. But let's not forget his Housy music. My God, the first few songs in this mix are really ace! And some could be seen as timeless classics. Could his House songs be better than his Hardcore songs? Nah, not for me. As much as I appreciate the House sound, I appreciate his Hardcore sound more. And there are a few songs in here I adore to this day, and until the end of days. 'Mayhem MF', 'Pessa Pessa', and probably the most underrated song ever, 'Roll The Place'. That certainly deserves more credit. DJ Promo did a marvellous job, and his mix is ace. Can't give him any negative feedback for this mix, as 4 1/2 hours of mixing can be strenuous, but he pulled it off. He made it, and 19.3k+ plays so far. All this love for the man behind many glorious 90s anthems, the man who shaped the scene into this glorious thing. The Prophet. The legend. Maybe even GOD? Step into your weekend with this monster mix, if you haven't heard it already.... • Fer-D - Bonzai Records Mix vol. 1 (2022)

Thursday has landed, and me and the wife are currently working in our 'new' office. When I say new office, I mean new house, which we've turned one bedroom into an office. And obviously I cannot immediately start playing 'my' music, as in very loud and obnoxious Hardcore music. I have to ease her into my sound. So let's start her off with some music from the 90s, from one of the biggest labels in Belgiums history: Bonzai Records. A much loved, respected, and adored label, that has had the biggest releases to this day on this mighty fine record. And those records have stood the test of time. Bonzai Records has to be one of the finest record labels to have ever been created. You might agree or disagree. Whatever your decision is. I'll happily support it. But what you've got to realise, and underline, is the importance of this Belgian label. Starting back in 1992, this label has been at the forefront of many new genres, like Techno, Trance, Hard Trance, Goa Trance, and more. They have released many epic anthems on this label by many well loved artists, such as Yves de Ruyter, Jones & Stephenson, Push, Da Hool, DJ Bountyhunter, Dream Your Dream, Thunderball, Phrenetic System, and the list goes on and on. And guess what? Well, Fer-D made this appreciation mix, with a handful of records pushed into an hour long mix. 18 records to be precise. I can't for the life of me remember which mix he did recently, which I also reviewed, but let's focus on his latest mix. The Bonzai mix. It's a gorgeous one. A very mind pleasing one. And again, you might dislike the label, which is OK, but the importance of the songs cannot be understated. And Fer-D has picked 18 records that might give you enough of an energy boost for today. Can't wait for volume 2, curious to hear what he's going to put in his second mix. Tracklist, anyone? Blue Alphabet - Cybertrance Yves Deruyter - Trance City Cherrymoon Trax - Conflictation Traxcalibur - The Dreamer Yves Deruyter - ... Animals Zone 1 - Zebra Crossing D & S - It's Not Over DJ Franky Jones - Me And My Two Friends (Montini Mix) RMB - Love Is An Ocean (Stephenson Remix) Insider & Stephenson - Inda Phrenetic System - Wayfarer Aqua Contact - Cinderella Aqua Contact - La Sirena Cherrymoon Trax - The House Of House Roel Butzen - Sequence (Hard Trance Mix) Cherrymoon Trax - Let There Be House Yves Deruyter - Rave City (Cherry Mix) Introspective - Land Of The Rising Sun I really love the selection by Fer-D. A lot of wicked classics. All jammed into one mix. And it's certainly one mix that keeps us on our toes. And it keeps us moving. But are these 18 tracks the finest from this majestic label? Are they the best of the best? That's for you to decide. But for me, they aren't. Yes, sure, they are classics. I'm not saying they are crap, but they aren't the best. I might be a tad biased, but I do prefer the biggest hits. You know the ones I'm talking about. The big, very big hits. The ones that were played over and over in clubs and discos and parties all over the world. Those hits. But, in all honesty, I would still dance my ass off if these were played in the clubs today. And I might have done in the late 90s/early 2000s. I simply can't remember, because of a certain liquid demolishing my brain cells. A drink I call Red Bull and Vodka. Or beer. Just alcoholic beverages. They made me forget a lot of awesome nights. Fer-D's mix is a very cool one. And I really enjoyed it. It's an hour of the maybe underrated songs from the label, but the label has had many records, so this is only a small selection. Still awesome though. A cool selection, and it certainly got me moving. I can't wait for volume 2, or even volume 3. Can't wait to hear more of these Bonzai Records' songs. They are just so ace. • Hardcore Breakz 1 - 29-10-22

There we go. Tuesday has come, and nearly gone. And what am I doing? Absolutely nothing. Got a few days off, so instead of working, I'm working in our new house. Which takes a lot of time and effort, and the weather isn't currently very helpful, so everything is to be done indoors, and if we were to go outside, do it quickly, or you'll be soaked. But I'd much rather stay indoors, as that's where my sound system is, and that's where the bass and beats and melodies resonate through the walls and ceiling. And today's mix is definitely one that will blow my speakers, and the walls, ceiling, and blow my neighbours brains into pieces. So, what have I found today? A Hardcore Breaks/Rave Breaks mix by Craig Scott. A sound you don't hear very often, but should deserve more credits for what it can do, and what it does. After discovering this mix, I got very excited. It quickly became apparent that this was going to be a very good and solid mix, with very descent records on it. I was going to say by well known names, but besides 'The Prodigy' I know literally not one of the artists... and that's a shame. But at least I'm excited to hear the music. After only a handful of seconds, I became very hyped and extremely excited to hear more. And whilst I'm typing this review, this mix is about to come to an end, and I'm starting at the front again. Why, you might ask? Well, it's because I want to hear it again, and hear more of this. So, without further ado, let us focus on the tracklist, and I'm listening to this mix again... Z-Neo - Dope Enuff Dystance - Rewindz Z-Neo - Never Been To Berlin Vinyltrixta - Make It Hardcore Z-Neo - The Next Generation Zensation - All Night Long Z-Neo - High As A Kite The Prodigy - Rip Up The Sound System (Paul Cronin Mix) Z-Neo - Keanu Raves Beardy - The Race The House Crew - We Are Hardcore (Pete Cannon Mix) Dragon Fly - Visions Of Rage (HWND Mix) Gareth Monks - Power Plate DJ H - Break Em DJ Nexus - Techwaxer BufoBufo - Golden Frod (Crashead Mix) Crashead - Voidwalker DJ Flow - Let's Go (Boizo Edit) Z-Neo - For Your Love The intro is insane, and Craig Scott's selection is truly insane. It's dope enough, that's for sure! It sets the tone for what is to come. And what comes at you through your speakers is certainly something you want and need to hear. A solid mix. A really ace mix. And I'm glad that I got the chance to listen to this right now, as it captures the right mood I'm in, I need something hard, rough, and yet elegant at the same time. I could go for your standard Hardcore stuff, but today it's all about the breaks. The Rave breaks. Craig's mix is tight, and his selection is dope. It starts off with a sick tune by Z-Neo, and the rest of the mix is literally full of tracks that will be considered future anthems. Classics in the making. I've got absolutely nothing negative to mention about this mix, nothing negative whatsoever. A solid mix full with excellent tunes. Something you are going to appreciate, if you find an hour spare today to listen to this. Trust me, you will not be disappointed! • DJ A.K. - New Happy Hardcore Mix 21.09.22

I am back. Did you miss me? It's been nearly a week, but I'm back now. There's a reason why I've been quiet for a week: I've moved house. Moved outside of London, to a little town called Stewartby. And obviously moving is a very strenuous task, so my focus was fully on the move. We still have got a fair few things to do, but it's looking OK as we speak. And the internet is working too, so that's a bonus. Our office has been set up now, so now we can be commence 'normality' like it used to be, back in the good ol' days. But I'm back, and we start off with a brilliant mix by the mighty DJ A.K. His latest mix was only uploaded 7 hours ago, but I quickly snatched it, saved it, and now I'm listening to it. And it's full of brand spanking new Hardcore anthems from the following labels: Brutal Cuts, 24/7, and Future Breakz. All well respected labels, and the artists who have releases on these labels are also well respected, and much loved producers. You'll certainly love DJ A.K.'s selection. And as I've not heard these new tunes before, they are all exciting to listen to. A lot of exclusives for me. He's picked 23 of the finest records money can buy, and if you put them into a mix blender, the result is a 63 minute long mix, full on Hardcore tracks you certainly need to hear. And I'm not exaggerating. Here, just look at the tracklist, and give me your opinion about the tracks selected. Brutal Cuts - The Happy Hardcore Mash Up DJ Tool Jack In Box & DBL - I'm In Euphoria Jack In Box & Darwin - Maybe We Can Dream Darwin x Impulse Riders - Another Hope M-Project - Hold It Down DBL & Jack In Box - Binary Worlds D5son & Silver Angelina - Forever And A Day Vinylgroover - Without You Time Rhythm - New Jam (Impulse Riders Mix) Argo - Remasterplan Cube::Hard - In The Moment (Darwin & Jack In Box Remix) Impulse Riders - Resurrection Klubfiller - Magic DJ Stompy & Easyvibe - Lost Together Scott Brown & Rob IYF - Ain't Got Nothin Impulse Riders & Jack In Box - Take Me Up Jack In Box & Darwin - Can You Feel Free Time Rhythm & Darwin - Inventor Of Wildstyle Darren Styles, Hixxy & Jelle Van Dael - I Follow Rivers (Deep Sea Baby) Stonebank - The Power AK47 & Hartshorn - Creation Time Rhythm & Impulse Riders - Going Crazy 3Star, Darwin & Projekt - Died In Your Arms There are plenty of well known names in here, and a few new ones. This seems to be a very interesting time to dive 'back into' UK Hardcore, if you have lost touch a bit. Like yours truly. Only a handful of mixes do fly by every so often, and it's only today that I fully found myself engulfed into the UK Hardcore sound again, and this time it's all brand spanking new music. It's been an interesting journey, and the tracks are all solid! Some so fresh and new sounding, and some keeping the 'old' sound alive. There are plenty of examples of tracks which could have been released 10 years ago, but they weren't. All new tracks, but they kept that unique early UK Hardcore vibe throughout the songs. There are too many awesome records to mention. But two of the reoccurring names in this mix, Darwin and Jack In Box, are certainly the ones I do appreciate the most. Their tunes are just ace. And they are the ones who are putting the early sound into their tracks the most. This has been an amazing 63 minute long journey through the current UK Hardcore scene, and it's been a blessing. It feels like a proper hug, a nice warm welcome back to the scene. This is the right path it should follow, as the music sounds absolutely insane! More of this, please?! And also thanks to DJ A.K. for yet another epic mix. DJ: A.K. • Happy Hardcore 1994-1999 (2020)

Sunday. The day of our Lord, if you are a religious person. If not, it is still a Sunday, and it's been one hell of a week. I hope that everyone had a brilliant time, and I hope next week will be another wicked week. Just think about it: only a few days until Christmas, right? Just count down to anything, and your life becomes happier, and slightly more exciting. Me and the wife are currently going through exciting times, but I cannot share it yet with you all. So it'll be a surprise. But what I can tell you, is that I'm happier, happier than I've ever been before! To accommodate my happiness, I have to listen to something suitable. Something similar to the mood I'm currently experiencing. And me being a raver, it led me straight to Happy Hardcore. So guess what mix I'm reviewing? You are correct, dear sir/madam! A Happy Hardcore mix I found on YouTube. The one who made this mix is called James. And James' mix contains the happiest, cheesiest, and most uplifting tunes from my childhood. From 1994 to 1999 I was full into Happy Hardcore, and to me it was life. Happy Hardcore was literally everything and everyone had to hear the music coming out of my speakers. I must have annoyed a few neighbours here and there, but I was a teenager and couldn't care less! It was an accident. Don't even know why I found this mix, but I'm happy that I did. These are exactly those songs I grew up with, and made my own. As it, they became part of my youth, and when I think of myself being a teenager, these are the songs that are close to my heart. This is me, in a nutshell. This is only a short mix, so it's quite easy and straight forward, typing this tracklist. So here we go: Lipstick - I'm A Raver Nakatomi - Children Of The Night (XXL Version) DJ Paul Elstak - Luv U More Tokyo Ghetto Pussy - I Kiss Your Lips Happymen - Love Is You (Happy Mix) Critical Mass - Happy Generation DJ Paul Elstak - Rainbow In The Sky 4 Tune Fairytales - Take Me 2 Wonderland (Extended Mix) Charly Lownoise & Mental Theo - Stars 4 Tune Fairytales - My Little Fantasy (Extended Version) Interactive - Forever Young Brisk & Vinylgroover - Freedom 2 Dance (Triple-J Remix) 2 Brothers On The 4th Floor - Fairytales (Extended Version) Dune - Hand In Hand Nakatomi - Sing Ravers Choice - Techno Wonderland (Remix) Out of the 16 songs in this mix, only 1 wouldn't be considered a classic anthem I grew up with. Guess which one it would be? You are correct, 'Freedom 2 Dance'. It isn't because I dislike Brisk or Vinylgroover, but I was simply more into Euro Cheese. If that makes any sense, I'm happy I made sense... The tracklist looks good, and the tracks sound extraordinarily good, even in 2022. Those tracks have stood the test of time, that's for sure. And they have made me even more happier, if that's even possible. I'm feeling young again, and not old and brittle. James, the one who made this mix, has selected great songs. I cannot judge him for that. The selection of records is truly great, and as cheesy as they might be, they are still solid records. Solid as a rock. Yes, they might be cheesy but it's exactly what I needed to hear today. The mix itself has got some ups and downs. It's not 100% perfect, and it ain't flawless. I wish it was more smooth, and flawless. I would have given it a 5 out of 5 stars, but unfortunately I cannot. It's not perfect. The transitions could have been executed better. But still, the tracks made me smile, and what else is there to comment about? The tunes make me smile, and I hope they make you smile too! Best record? Oh, that's a daunting task, to decide... but I have to go with 'I Kiss Your Lips' by Tokyo Ghetto Pussy. A song that ALWAYS makes me smile! • Foxhound - 20221009 Industrial Hardcore

Is it Wednesday? It doesn't feel like it. But whatever day it might be, it's always good to hear something you don't hear that often. As you all know, I am a huge Hardcore fanatic, and have been since 1993/1994. But one of the subgenres of Hardcore has always been a bit buried, hidden away from me, and that's genre is Industrial Hardcore. it does come up every so often, but I don't actively search for it. But don't you worry, I'm on it now, and I have saved two mixes that I might review soon. One of them is this one, by Foxhound. I think it got shared by HanSolo on Soundcloud (thanks for that), so here we are... a new day, Industrial Hardcore blasting through my speakers! I found this mix because it was shared, but I'm not familiar with Foxhound. So, let's dive straight into this mix and what Foxhound has made. An hour and 3-minute-long mix, full of Industrial Hardcore, with some seriously insane records by the big names in the industry. Names such as Rude Awakening, Stormtrooper, Tymon, Armageddon Project, [KRTM]. Dither, and more. If you were looking for a wicked Industrial Hardcore mix, I think I've found one you might like! I do love myself a bit of Industrial Hardcore every so often. Not always. It would drive me mad, hearing this coming at me 24/7. Maybe a few hours per day, but that's all. There's a limit though. My brain would be fried to pieces. The last time I went to a rave where they played Industrial Hardcore was Raving Nightmare in Maastricht, The Netherlands, and as cool as it was, only a few hours I could handle it. But it still gives me enough energy to last throughout the day. Especially these tracks made by these well-known artists. Tymon - The Mangler Rude Awakening - Credit Is Due AK-Industry & Lowroller - Isolation [KRTM] - Chaser (Monkey With Shothun) Armageddon Project - Insecure Opponents Ferox - Save Urself FIEND & Broken Rules - The Strength Hellfish - Self Isolation Loop Stepwalker & Balkansky - Tornado (The Teknoist Tornado Made Of Zombies Re-Twist) Marc Acardipane feat Rave Creator - O.K. Bassquake (Killborn Remix) Ophidian - Qotile Razor Edge - Dark Mood Rude Awakening - Anger Management Stormtrooper - The Silence Between Us The DJ Producer - That Guitar Track (Mindustries Revision) The Relic - Thermal Vision Trickstyle - The Underground Vibe Tymon - Punk B**ch Peaky Pounder - Runko Broken Rules - Minimize It COREporation - I Control Your Mind Densha Crisis - Mind In Distress Petrochemical & Ophidian - Inaminate Matt Green & Tripped - Punx Kevlar AK-Industry & Igneon System - Evil Blood Angel - Industrial Base COREporation - Rocket Launch Deathmachine - Imitations Dither - The Woods Matt Green - A Blade In The Park This is a very hard mix. But yeah, it's to be expected, as it's an Industrial Hardcore mix. Foxhound keeps us on our toes, and keeps the interest throughout this mix. Once you hear the first anthem come at you, you won't be able to stop listening to this mix, and the hour flies by. I am not telling porkies, it's the truth! It has been a wicked hour, and as it's been on repeat multiple times this morning, I can say now it's the fourth time I've listened to this, and I'm still highly impressed with the mix, and the songs selected by Foxhound. The songs are fucking hard as hell, He does his best to keep the listeners entertained, and that's happening for sure. I've got nothing negative to mention. • XXL Invites 026 | Somniac One (2022)

Monday morning has arrived, and I'm working. WFH, as a lot of people are. But I shouldn't be, as it's my day off. Work never leaves my mind, and I just had to do a few bits and bobs here and there. To get me through the early start, I went to my favourite list on Soundcloud, and pressed play on a mix I found a month or so ago, made by Somniac One. It's been a while since the last review I've done, but thankfully now is the time to wake up to this glorious mix, which comes with a tracklist too, which is always an added bonus! Obviously, those that know me, know I only wake up to something glorious. I don't want to wake up to something dreadful and boring. I need that bit of oomph, a bit of power to come at me through my speakers. It could be when I'm WFH, or even when I'm in the office: my journey to work has to be filled with a lot of bass. My speakers need to rumble and Somniac One certainly does that. Well, not the DJ, but the mix she's made. That certainly blows up my speakers! It has already got positive feedback from those that listened to it, and I'm joining them. It might be only an hour long, but within that hour you do get the finest and darkest Techno anthems. She keeps us on our toes, and keeps us moving. Really like the vibe, and it certainly made my morning go by quicker than expected. But which records did she use for this mix? Dahryl - Driver W.L.V.S. - Guilty (Tommy Four Seven Remix) 59909 Alliance - The Unholy Alliance Perc - Metamorphic Manni Dee - See Me Now Giant Swan - RRR+1 Balrog - Morse Code Perc - Safe As Fuck Hemka - Rituals EAS - LA Bro Ghost In The Machine - Tool Time Andreas Kraemer & Shadym - So Wie Es Sein Muss Darzack & Ospiel - Subterranean Stem Johnny Piras - Pledge To Respect And Thank Shadym - Purity Cleric & Azrael - Addicted To Love VII Circle - Doom Scalameriya - Aeon Core D. Carbone - Infidelity (Starving Insect Remix) Sour - Proton Marc Acardipane - Pitch-Hiker (Ghost In The Machine Remix) Nightshift - I AM DOOM Tymon - Dead Inside Trust True - Karosta 10 CLS - Microwave Sky This has been on loud since 6 am, and it's been a blessing. Maybe a nuisance to our neighbours, but I could not give a shiny shite. I need to wake up, and if I do, they do too! Nah, I'm not that kind of a bellend, but I did have this on max volume though. Thankfully our walls are probably insulated, so it wouldn't affect the neighbours sleep that much. This XXL Soundcloud channel, whoever is responsible for this, you've gained a new follower. If you've got more mixes like this one, I will certainly check the page out. No need to follow Somniac One, as I already do. But this latest mix was one I couldn't just ignore, and let it go by. I had to jump on it, and I'm glad that I did. It's a bonkers mix, and it's a glorious one. The darker the Techno, the better, right? Best record? 'I AM DOOM'. Early Marc Acardipane vibes... LOVE IT! An ace mix. Nothing else to mention. Check it out right now! • Rave-O-Lution Mixtape #007 - Fer-D (2022)

Friday is here, and we need something hard and rough to get us through the last few hours of this day, to get ready for the weekend. Hope everyone is going to experience a good weekend, and if you decide to go clubbing/raving, enjoy it as much as you can, but do it safely. And let's kick off the journey towards this weekend with a Hardcore mix. I did discover this mix a few days ago, and remembered that the last Rave-O-Lution mix I found was also done by the same DJ, and I think the review I did was back in 2020? I might be wrong, which I am so very often though... The mix you are about to listen to, contains the big hits which were played at the big events back in the 90s. You might have been to one of these events, like Thunderdome, Hellbound, Hellraiser, Mysteryland, Earthquake, and more. Events that took place around 1996, which is the year Fer-D is focussing on for this mix. He has taken tracks released in this specific year and crammed them all together in the 76-minute-long mix. 26 tracks, 76-minute-long mix. And it's so weird to realise that all these tracks were from the same era! They are so different sounding, but it highlights the scene at that stage. The music was growing, evolving, turning into this majestic thing. For those uninitiated among us, Hardcore wasn't just straight forward, 160+ BPMs and the same riff and melody. It went through an evolution, and this mix shows how in 1 year the records released couldn't be as far apart from each other. From happier to darker, from Industrial sounding records to the bouncier records, from Artcore to whatever it might be. It was a very diverse year, and it was GLORIOUS. But the records, that's what you are interested in, right? Well, Fer-D picked these 26 for good reasons! DJ Sim - 24K Solid Bass The New York Terrorist - Short Fuse Da Grimreaper - We Control Da Sound (X-Press Yourself) The Lawyer - Yo DJ (Original Mix) Beyonder - The Wish DJ Paul Elstak - Unity (Bodylotion Remix) Paradox - What Is Wisdom? Dennis M - Music For The Future Lockjaw - 4 My Sense The Coalition - Drop It The Chicago Hardcore Party Force feat DJ Dave - Rave Machine Bio-Forge - Turbulence Omar Santana - Noise Dive Lenny Dee - The Dreamer Neophyte - Rockin' DJ Arjuna & Beyonder - Rock On Till The Break Of Dawn Tellurian - Get Raw Ectomorph - The Fall Of Babylon MD & A - The Cracken Dark Destination - Don't Fuck With Me DJ Weirdo & Dr. Phil Omanski - Young Birds (Original Mix) DJ Weirdo & Dr. Phil Omanski - Young Birds (Buzzy Goes BZRK Mix) DJ Dano - Starting Up Tripax - What The Fuck Are You Laughing At? Technological Terror Crew - Where Angels Fear To Tread (Remix) 3 Steps Ahead - Gangster (Feel So Good) Now this is insane! A wicked tracklist. These are the tracks you don't hear very often, especially in this configuration! Well, some you might do, like these big ones: Gangster, Young Birds, 24K Solid Bass... but there are so many 'forgotten' and hidden gems in this mix that deserve more respect and honour for what they actually are: Hardcore anthems! Fer-D's mix is an interesting one. It opened my eyes to some of those forgotten records. For example, when I heard 'Unity' by Paul Elstak, remixed by Bodylotion, I turned into a teenager again, dancing in my bedroom with his 'my first Sony' headset on. I know the original, but it must have been at least 20 years since I last heard this version. An underrated version, and an even better version of this song. The original sucks, but this one rocks. One record stood out from all of the records selected, and that's because I've not heard it before, and it is a highly addictive record: 'Rave Machine'. Fuck me sideways, the vocals are soooo damn catchy, I'm sitting here, and it's now been 30 minutes since I last heard them, and I still have them circling around my head. Is it the best Hardcore record ever made? No, that's for sure, but it's certainly one that remains in your head for a long, long time! A good mix. Fer-D and Rave-O-Lution have done it again. Brilliant mix, chaps! • Slipmatt 88-89 Mix - July 2011

I remember when this mix was released many years ago! Back in 2011, DJ Slipmatt released his 1988 to 1989 mix, and it blew my mind! I've reviewed this mix multiple times already, and only a handful of days ago did I find this mix yet again, and I just had to jump on it. Not just this mix brings back memories, but also the tunes themselves! And if there's one person that can deliver an awesome mix, it's DJ Slipmatt. The Godfather of Rave, right? We all know and love DJ Slipmatt, and not just because of his songs as part of a group you might have heard of: SL2. Or even his solo stuff... it all seems to work. He embraced the Rave culture, and has given us memorable tunes, mixes, and livesets, for which I'm glad I've seen him twice now! The year is 2011, and Slipmatt releases this monster of a mix. The world wasn't ready, and I sure as hell wasn't either. The mix takes us back to 1988/1989. Do you remember those years? Were you around to experience them? Or were you too young, or not even born yet? For me it is simple: I was around, but only 5-6 years old. I wasn't aware of Rave music, I was more focussed on kids TV. I only caught on at a later stage, but I am unfortunately not one of the early Rave enthusiasts. I am a Rave lover, don't get me wrong, and I regret that I wasn't around to witness this style being played in clubs and illegal raves. Those must have been the days, right? Slipmatt does what he does best: deliver an awesome mix. Yes, this isn't my first review, and it's been reviewed every so often, but I have to say that every time I hear this mix, it makes me smile. And it has made at least 45k+ people smile. Not just because of the quality of this mix, but also the records selected by the Godfather of Rave. He knows exactly what the crowd wants to hear, and during this 80 minute long mix, he takes us back to these 2 wonderful years, showing us how AWESOME the music was back then! How awesome? Well, really awesome! Slipmatt played these records, and be honest with me (and yourself): these songs are solid as a rock, right? Chad Jackson - Hear The Drummer Get Wicked Young MC - Know How Doug Lazy - Let It Roll Sydney Youngblood - If Only I Could Raven Maize - Together Forever D.N.A. - La Serenissima Landlord - I Like It Impedance - Tainted Dub Armando - Downfall Nitro Deluxe - Let's Get Brutal Addis Posse - Let The Warriors Dance Black Riot - A Day In The Life The Todd Terry Project - Weekend Anne Marie - Just Waiting For you Adonis - No Way Back Patti Day - Right Before My Eyes Mr. Fingers - Can You Feel It Night Writers - Let The Music (Use You) Separate Minds - First Bass Inner City - Big Fun Sweet D - Thank Ya Turntable Orchestra - You're Gonna Miss Me Roberta Flack - Uh Uh Ooh Ooh Debbie Malone - Rescue Me Dionne - Come Get My Loving Adeva - R.E.S.P.E.C.T. Rhythm On The Loose - Break Of Dawn Charles B - Lack Of Love Da Posse - It's My Life Rhythm Is Rhythm - The Dance Mike Dunn & Bam Bam - Magic Feet Laid Back - Ride The White Horse Rtyme - Illusion Sueno Latino - Sueno Latino Raze - Break For Love ALY US - Follow Me Earth People - Dance Index - Give Me A Sign K-OS - Definition Of Love The 28th Street Crew - I Need A Rhythm The Beat Club - Security Fast Eddie - Yo Yo Get Funky Tony Scott - Thats' How I'm Living The Jungle Brothers meet Richie Rich - I'll House You This is a proper tracklist. 44 tracks, carefully selected and mixed together by the legendary DJ Slipmatt. Leave that up to him, he knows exactly what to do. He's been in the game since the early days, and he's seen millions of people all over the world, and being such a legendary household name, he does not need any advice on how to please the fans. With this mix he certainly pleases the listeners, and the comments on Soundcloud are all positive. But there's a reason for that: this mix is DOPE. These are really good records. All 44 are wicked. I cannot fault Slipmatt for choosing these. These are probably the finest records from 1988 and 1989. It's a quick glimpse back in tie, but it's such a glorious one to experience. The music was more 'honest' and more civilised and smooth, or is that just me talking out of my bottom? It was more mellow compared to the present day stuff? There are so many timeless classics in here, that stood the test of time extremely well. And some are hugely underrated, like my favourite record in this mix: Sweet D - Thank Ya. Now that's my all-time favourite record, that's for sure. Simple, yet extremely effective. I don't need much to 'entertain' me. This is one of those tracks that can go on repeat for hours, and I would still listen to it the next day! This, to me, is Slipmatt's finest mix ever. Do you agree or disagree? Which Slipmatt mix is your favourite, if the one you are reading about isn't your favourite? Let me know in the comment section below! • Pillscast 0053 - A Trip Into the World of Techno and Rave Culture (2022)

We've reached Sunday! One day closer to the next week, but we can end this weekend with a bang! A mix I have found might give you enough energy to keep on going and going. A Techno mix you might appreciate a lot. And one that might bring a smile on your face, compared to the opposite that might happen, knowing the weekend is about to end. We don't want to be sad; we want to be happy, and the music will certainly uplift us all. Unless you detest Techno, and in that case, you can do one! Go away, right now! Another mix I found by accident on Soundcloud. And I know absolutely NOTHING about who made this. The channel is called Dstm, and looking at the profile picture, it seems like a scary person you don't want to see at night... or even during the day! But certainly, it won't be an issue at an event, that's for sure. Not that I was planning on going out during the darkest of hours, but still. I am not aware of this DJ, but what I can talk about is the mix itself. I saw this mix, the mix picture got me interested, and I pressed the 'PLAY' button, and once I've done that, I was in full awe of this mix, and the tunes selected for this mix are all so freaking gorgeous! I am a Techno lover, but not an expert, so not only is the DJ an unknown name to me, the tracks in this mix are too! But don't you worry son, it isn't about the names, it's more important of what these tracks can do to you, and to me it is quite clear what they made me do: DANCE! Or, in this case, RAVE! Raw Octa 3 - Congolero German Martinez - 6Am Justyn Nell - Gravitational Constant No.name - Memento Ben Reymann - Time Flies Mesh Convergence - Green Eyes (Gina Demarchi Remix) Adan Mor - Void Judy - Podgorica ASKE - Compass (Nokken Remix) DJ Plant Texture - MPC Jam 3 (EXP Forever Mix) German Martinez - Friday Night Tool Cri Du Coeur - Intraveinous (Oliver Deutschmann Remix) Jonas Kopp, NORBAK - Slower Than This One Judy - Ente Lateral Ineludible Mar Axe - Oblivion Mar Axe - Graviti This has been playing in my house since 9am this morning, and it's been a blessing in disguise. I've thoroughly enjoyed the set, from the first tune to the last. Dstm has made a very entertaining set, and I would suggest you to give this a go. This has only been on Soundcloud for three months, but it has already reached 15k+ plays! And that's for good reasons: this mix is dope. This is the 53rd instalment of the Pillscast (whatever that might mean), and after listening to this one, I'm determined to give the others a go too. I will certainly jump on the bandwagon and checking all the other stuff out, by Dstm. I love the darker vibes you get throughout this mix. At certain stages it's quite refreshing and 'light' but then it turns in a second into this dark and underground anthem. Especially the last two records, which I liked the most. Dark and edgy, that's just the way I like my Techno! Got nothing else to say. Check this mix out right now, and RAVE the weekend away (that sounds sad, but you know what I mean) DJ: Dstm Genre/Style: Techno, Raw Techno, Hard Techno, Acid Techno, Industrial Techno, Groovy Techno Mix Info: Pillscast 0053 - A Trip Into the World of Techno and Rave Culture Length Mix: 01:02:40 Tracks: 16 (sixteen) Download/Listen (via Soundcloud): CLICK HERE File Size: 632 MB File Type: .WAV Audio: Stereo Bit Rate: 1411kbps Release Year: 2022 More Information: Dstm - Soundcloud Channel

  • Take #13 - Matthew McCounaugheYEEHAW (2022)

It is Saturday, a fun day. We've been told brilliant news yesterday, which I can't share yet, but it's great. And it's something me and the wife have been looking forward to. No, she ain't pregnant, for God sake! But hey ho, today is a good day, and we are both over the Moon. But it's a weird day, that's for sure. How can we top off a weird day? By listening to a weird mix. A weird mix I found by accident, and it's certainly not something you are used to see/hear. Just look at the freaking picture and tell me: does it make any sense? You know when something is weird, when the picture linked to the mix is already mind bogglingly weird. This mix, made by someone from NL called Rígur Lárus, is certainly one that requires a bit of introduction and information. Maybe he could, because it makes sense but in a strange way, it doesn't? He's got other mixes on his Soundcloud channel with titles such as 'Chrisopher's Walkman', 'Dusting Hoffman' , 'Chevy Chases His Scorched Memories', 'Thrill Murray Came To My Boathouse Party' and more. And the one you are listening to, is called 'Matthew McCounaugheYEEHAW'. Like, WTF? I do get it. The intro is a snippet taken from a film, and you can hear Matthew McCounawhateverhisnameis. But once the introduction is done, it's time for the music. And the melodic music comes at you, and it comes at you hard and fast. Rígur Lárus gets the job done, and the hour and 25 minute long mix is certainly one you will enjoy! But what's in store for us? Well, these songs: Pachanga Boys - Poem For The Youth Tal Fussman - It Was Misunderstood Imperieux - Ferishtah Local Dialect - Yaksha (Original Mix) Nandu - Simple Reflections (Original Mix) The Ambush - Everlast Moonwalk - Aries (Original Mix) Andy Bros - More Code Message Biesmans - Hipster Paradise Kapibara - Sable Jonathan Kaspar - Umfang (Original Mix) RRoxymore, Aquarian Jugs, Jaguar Woman & Oni Ayhun - DR1-1 Bicep feat Clara La San - Water Eagles & Butterflies - The Trip (Original Mix) Salt-N-Pepa - Push It (12" Version) Fred Again... x Swedish House Mafia feat Future - Turn On The Lights Again Royksopp - What Else Is There (ARTBAT Remix) (Afterclap Rework) Corren Cavini - A Crying Synthesizer (Extended Mix) Earthlife - Never Ending (Original Mix) Hollt - Mind Escape (Extended Mix) This is certainly a unique mix filled with songs by artists I've not come across before. But that's the beauty of Soundcloud: click on one mix, and you are greeted with something you've never heard of seen before. And that's the magical thing. This mix I simply came across because someone reposted it. And even though it is a tad weird, the music itself is great. Blissful and relaxing. I've not got anything negative to mention, at all. And you know why? Because as quirky as it is, it's a brilliant mix. Quality mix, quality songs, quality everything. Rígur Lárus has done a wicked job, and has now made me a follower of him on Soundcloud. I like this 'out of the ordinary' kind of mixes. You never know what to expect, or what feelings it might generate throughout the mix. Really loved this mix. Suitable for me today. Simply don't know any of the artists, or the songs, or even the one that made this mix, but he's made my day. A very blissful and exciting mix, and what else could you wish for/ Jump on this mix right now, and download it too, if you feel lucky! • Thunderdome 2022 Warm Up Mix By Jehuty

Thunderdome 2022. 30 years since the first Thunderdome event. Three decades of the wizard raising his fists to the raving community. On the 10th of December the madness will start, and the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht will be the place where thousands of ravers will come together, and prepare themselves for a night to remember. History will be written, and it will be a memorable event. The line-up is one of dreams, and in 7 areas will the gabbers be greeted by the finest Hardcore DJs from all over the world. We are still a few months away, but it's not going to be that long. To get you all ready for Thunderdome XXX, Jehuty made this mix, filled with the hardest anthems you can find! Thunderdome itself is now sold out, so if you wanted to go, you are a bit too late. You might find a few on the black market or Marktplaats or somewhere similar, but you have to do your research, as tickets for Thunderdome are as rare as an undercooked chicken (which is rare too!). But if you did secure a ticket, that's amazing, and I hope you have a wicked time! To get you through the next few weeks until the actual event takes place, let's play this mix, and get those beats, bass, and melody run through your system! Jehuty's mix is filled with the coolest tunes, the finest Hardcore/Uptempo stuff money can buy. This is certainly not a mix for the faint hearted among us. I am not a huge fan of the present day Hardcore sound, but I still appreciate it a lot. I just seem to listen to a lot of the early Hardcore stuff, the music I grew up with. But I will still give this hour and a half mix a go, as I need my daily dosage of Hardcore. Dither x Never Surrender - Do It Like This Nosferatu & Tha Playah - Beginning Of Time Miss K8 - Cold Nights Rejecta & Restrained - The Gambling Zone Irridiate & Da Mouth Of Madness - Sick And Tired Miss K8 & D-Sturb - Dope Shit Warface & Disarray - Middle Of Insanity D-Fence & Tha Watcher - Hardcore Bastard Irridiate & Dither - Falling Miss K8 & Deadly Guns - Bring Me Back Miss K8 - Don't Go Nosferatu & Disarray - Demonic Playgrounds Miss K8 & Detest - Chopper Nosferatu - Comforting Evil Imperial - #TheseDays Rejecta & Restrained & Karun - Bassdrum Addiction Restrained & Paul Elstak - Demolition Hardcore Never Surrender - Loco Irradiate & MC Livid - Endless Sacrifice Sickmode & Levenkhan & Rooler - Lesgooo N-Vitral & Killshot - Fat Beat F.Noize & Deadly Guns - Boss Fight Chaotic Brotherz x R3T3P - Loose My Mind Sasha F & Psychoweapon - Obey The Order Partyraiser & Furyan - Confusion Dimitri K & Roza - X-UP (chrizens Edit) Mind Compressor & Yoshiko - I Can't Get It Andy The Core & Republic - Life Ain't A Game Noxiouz & R3T3P - Black Sky GPF & D-Fence - No Money Trespassed feat MC Robs - Terrified Soublast - Be A Star Trespassed & Jax - Wanna Do Yunke - Extremely Dangerous Spitnoise & Barber - In The Jungle Deadly Guns x Dimitri K - Drunk At The Rave Never Surrender - Schrik Van De Stad Nosferatu - When The Devil Knows Your Name Soublast - Confession N-Vitral presents Bombsquad & Spitnoise - Deathblow Deadly Guns x Elite Enemy - Partyrockerz I have to say, even though I'm not into the current Hardcore sound, it does blow up my JBL speaker system in my car! Fuck me sideways, the bass is nasty throughout this set. Jehuty has made a very interesting mix with a lot of speaker demolishing records. I've had a few journeys on the M25, and this mix has been playing over and over. It has been very pleasant, that's for sure. But what is has proven me, is that I'm getting older, and I'm not following any trends. The youngsters obviously like things slightly harder and rougher, compared to what I grew up with. Oh shit, I've just turned into my parents: they never understood what I listened to, and never had an interest. Fuck me, it has officially happened! But it's still Hardcore, isn't it? And it still gets me hyped up. I still gave it a go, and was really pleased to hear these songs. Unfortunately, I don't see them being all-time classics, like the early Hardcore anthems, but they are cool right now. and they will cause the Jaarbeurs to tremble. A solid mix, and it's got 'Sick And Tired' in it. The melody is one of those that won't leave your head for days. And the lyrics have got a deeper meaning, which encapsulates me a lot. I am not going to Thunderdome 2022. Couldn't get tickets, nor did I find the time to take a few days off to drive to NL. But if you are, have fun, and in the meantime, check out this mix. Even though it will never beat the early Hardcore sound, it's certainly a cool mix to listen to! • The Sound Of Rotterdam Volume II - Hardcore Will Never Die (1993)

From talking about Robbie Williams to talking about another word that starts with the letter R: Rotterdam. I am not from Rotterdam (far from it: South Limburg to be precise), just to make you all aware. But during the 90s, the city of Rotterdam played a huge part in the Hardcore scene. They weren't the only major city in the Netherlands that made Hardcore bigger and better, but certainly one of the originators and pioneers, that's 100% the truth. Starting in the early 90s, they released record after record, and some have become cult classics, and have cemented their place in the Hardcore scene. During the early 90s, I was too young to understand the difference between Hardcore from Rotterdam and Amsterdam. I was only a teenager, and wasn't into the whole debate as to which city meant the most, etc. For me, if it was Hardcore, it was Hardcore. Now, with me being slightly older, I can hear the difference between music from R'dam and A'dam. Blame it on my ignorance, my youthfulness. I didn't even have a lot of money to spend on CDs. Always relied on my mum purchasing CDs for me, because my weekly allowance wasn't sufficient enough. 50 guilders for a CD was quite expensive, if you were a wee young lad. Once I got a job and a proper salary, my money went on buying a lot of CDs. But I missed out on many CDs, including the one I only found today. An album released in 1993 by Rotterdam Records? Never heard or seen this album before, nor heard the songs that are on this album. Quite an obscure album with a lot of obscure anthems. But which ones I might hear you say? Well, these: Holy Noise - Hardcore Will Never Die (Club Mix) Underground Nation Of Rotterdam - Bitch Short Circuit - Attack Euromasters - Everybody Clap Your Hands The Nightraver - Noise Neophyte - 210 Rotterdam DJ Paul - Straight Outta Rotterdam DJ Git Hyper & DJ Paul - Free Mess Evil Maniax - Powerful Impact The Nightraver - We Are From.... Salient Odessey - Let's Go Short Circuit - Mechanic De Kuipkanjers - Hand In Hand, Gabbers Speed Soul Brothers - Going Down Sub Zero - Let's Go A Bald Lunatic - Bloodthursty Speed Brother - Hardcore Sexual Interface S.O.A. - Schollevaar Feelings This is certainly a CD filled with songs I've never heard before! This is no joke, these are as unknown to me as the answer 'is the universe unending?' I know the artists (most of them), but never heard these songs before. And that's good! Something new and exciting to listen to. Something nearly 30 years old, but fresh in my ears! Quick side note: I had a browse on Discogs, and found out that behind the name S.O.A. was Ferry Corsten (and a few others). Yes, Ferry made Hardcore music too! You didn't know that, did you? Back to the CD. There are some underrated songs on here, and also a few stinkers. Some so unique, and not suitable for the present day Hardcore scene. Or overshadowed by the biggest tunes released by the artists (think of Holy Noise, Euromasters, etc). Some are just extremely dreadful (like Hand In Hand, Gabbers), it's just too damn painful to listen to. But they are time period correct: this was the kind of music people listened to during the first few years in the 90s. Those that did keep me on my toes, were both songs by The Nightraver. I only know his biggest song 'So', but these two are really great. And they blow my speakers up, and that's wha tI wanted to hear. And the bassline in 'We Are From....', so 90s sounding! Don't hear that anymore. Was this a great album? Not the best album released on Rotterdam Records. But you've got to remember: this was all during the first few years after Hardcore was made, so everything was still in the development stage, so people were experimenting. But a cool addition to people's CD collection, that's for sure! Artist: Various Artists Genre/Style: Hardcore, Gabber, CD Info: The Sound Of Rotterdam Volume II - Hardcore Will Never Die Length CD: 01:15:26 Tracks: 18 (eighteen) Release Year: 1993 Label: Rotterdam Records Product Number: ROT024 More Information: -----------------

  • Robbie Williams - XXV Live @ The O2 - London (2022)

Last Sunday me and my wife went to the O2 Stadium in London. If you know us, you know we normally like to stay indoors, but we were on a mission. A mission that started for the wife many decades ago, but we'll come to that in a minute. The mission itself? To go to a Robbie Williams gig. A sold-out gig, I must add. And now, a few days later, I am still recovering after seeing RW live for the very first time. I went in ill prepared, and came out a different person. The wife came out a happier person. And obviously her bank account lost a few pennies because of the ticket prices, but was it worth it in the end? Was it the show she was waiting for, for so many years? Before we start talking about the actual gig, let's go back in time slightly, if that's OK? My wife has been a huge fan of Robbie Williams since he first emerged onto the music scene as part of Take That, many years ago. She was young, a teenager, and the band became a huge part of her teenage years. She grew up with them, she bought all their albums/singles, and even to this day she knows each song and every lyric used in each song. As teenagers did back in the day, she had posters on her bedroom wall, magazines everywhere.. a typical teenage girl bedroom. And she even shed a tear when RW decided to go solo, and the band struggled with the loss of their friend. Take That and RW were with her throughout her teenage years, so she always felt 'close' to them. Their music touched her soul and has given her good, blissful memories of her younger self. She's a fan since day one, and as upsetting as she was when Robbie left, she still followed them both, and when Robbie became hugely successful as a solo artist, she remained a follower, a fan. A fan with a mission: to see him perform. Preferably with Take That, but their relationship wasn't as great as it is nowadays, and there was no chance in hell them reuniting. But she had to see either Take That, or Robbie. Robbie started to become this worldly superstar, and his songs dominated the charts all over the world. From the UK to Australia, from the Netherlands to anywhere else, he was there. And his music was different. From happy to sad. From his emotional songs to the extremely uplifting stuff, he showed the world he was capable of getting rid of his boy band persona, and became this rockstar. Yes, there were some hurdles he had to overcome, but he was also ready to cause some controversy. Remember when his 'Rock DJ' video came out, and people were warned pre release? Kids had to close their eyes, or go to bed. It was shocking. It was different. He was throwing bits of his 'body' all around the room, to girls on roller skates. He was showing the world who Robbie was, and that he couldn't give a shit. He was a fucking rock star, and if he wanted to throw his legs and arms to the camera, so be it. But let's not forget: he also made timeless classics. Classics that are played at funerals and weddings. No, I'm not talking about 'Rudebox', a bit of a weird album in my honest opinion. Nah, I'm talking about 'Feel', 'She's The One', and 'Angels'. You cannot attend a funeral or a wedding without hearing these songs. Robbie was versatile, and he showed everyone that he was an excellent solo artist. Yes, he did work with other artists, for example Kylie Minogue, Nicole Kidman, Pet Shop Boys, and some bloke called Gary Barlow... But it was mainly his solo work that reached the world and the stratosphere, and made him into this all time superstar. He has released many albums over the years, starting back in 1997 up to the present year, 2022. His first album was called 'Life Thru A Lens' and his last is called 'XXV', to celebrate 25 years as RW, the solo artist. Hence why his latest concert was called that. He's been Robbie, the entertainer, for 25 years. He's been the mega superstar for that long. The one my wife was dying to see. And when the tickets were announced for his London gigs, she jumped online, and bought 2 tickets. One for her, one for myself. And I wasn't as excited as she was... And that's not because I dislike Robbie Williams. On the contrary, I do find him a fascinating character, but I never loved boy bands or was ever a follower/a fan of anyone. I was a fan of 2Unlimited during the 90s, but I got hugely disappointed when they broke up, as I've only signed up to their fanclub the week before and lost 100 guilders (equal to 50 euros). So I swore to never be a fan of anyone. A fan of specific music styles, but never one individual. And growing up, RW was always there, on the radio or TV. And I can appreciate his music, but wouldn't go out of my way to listen to his songs specifically. My wife can lister to all his albums in a row, and I couldn't. It would drive me mad. So, in short, I do like his music, I went to the concert as a person who appreciates his music. The day emerged, and we both made it to the 02 Stadium. When we got there, it was nice and 'quiet'. The queues for the merchandise stand were acceptable, and me being the nice chap, I bought her a hoodie and a t-shirt. Not for myself, as I'm just a bloke who went to the gig. But for the wife, the memorabilia would be with her the rest of her life. We then decided to go to the H entry. Walking passed the restaurants, there was a nice buzz, a nice atmosphere. People weren't in your face, people weren't making a racket. They were nice and relaxed. Quick vape before entering, and when walking to the security, it became clear that this stadium was well prepared for this concert. They've done this before, and it all went smooth. We didn't even need to queue: the security bloke checked the wife's bag, and that was it. Oh yeah, they also scanned our tickets. But we went up the escalators, and once we reached the level we should be on, we went straight to our seats, and planted our arses on it. A bit too early though, the arena was still half empty. But we had time. And we had a drink (which was quite expensive, in my honest opinion). Waiting for the opening act, we had a pleasant time. I was impressed with the O2. I've been around it before, to see a Star Wars exhibition, but never been 'in' it. It was impressive, and I really liked the atmosphere. The stadium filled up nice and slowly, no manic teenagers screaming for mercy, for the main man. And quicky it became apparent that there was a sea of grey hairs everywhere! Me and the wife are in our thirties, but the average age looked to be roughly 40, or 40+. And then the lights went out. Lufthaus entered the arena. And they gave the crowd a short set. A set filled with dance tunes. Songs they did on their own, or with Robbie Williams. And I actually felt comfortable: I am a dance music lover, so when I heard the bass resonate throughout the stadium, I felt at home. And the songs were really cool! Not many appreciated that kind of music though, only a handful of visitors danced. But you cannot please everyone, right? They did a marvellous job of getting me hyped up for the main man, and even the wife liked their music. It was a good opening set. Maybe too hard for the crowd, but not for us. Lufthaus started a bit earlier, and then, once they finished, there was roughly 30 to 40 minutes of nothing. Waiting, in anticipation for the main act. But then, at a certain stage, I spotted Robbie behind the stage. I saw someone wearing something very shiny, and it could only have been him. Or his dancers/singers, but I was adamant that it was him. The arena had the lights turned off, and everyone started screaming for RW. Including myself, the 'ordinary' bloke. He jumped onto the stage with force. He came on, and you immediately knew it. He was there, and got the 02 jumping up and down! The entertainer had arrived... I am not going to discuss all the songs he did, because I simply can't remember them all. But he did the big hits, like 'Let Me Entertain You', 'Angels', 'Kids' and more. But as 'normal' as I was at the beginning of the set, I slowly turned into a huge fan of his voice, and the entertainer. He turned me. I became an admirer of the entertainer Robbie, and the way he sung, and the way he talked to the crowd. Talking about his first years as part of Take That, and showing a video of one of their earlier songs, and having a massive ass showing (not his btw). He took you on a journey throughout his 25 years as Robbie Williams, the solo artist, and also as part of Take That. And fuck it, he even sung an Oasis song, and got the crowd singing along. But that wasn't hard: we were already singing every song he did. And his voice was superb. He practised a lot, and it was showing. He is a bit older now, but aren't we all? He sat down during certain bits of certain songs, and let us do the hard work, but his presence was felt throughout the area. We were intoxicated by the entertainer, and he made sure that everyone present would feel the warmth of his music, and the character he created 25 years ago. The set was splendid, and went by in a blink of an eye. Before we knew it, the last song emerged, which was dedicated to his mum, mum Williams (don't know her name, I'm not that much of a fan). He finished the song, and the crowd were still amazed of what happened. Including my wife, Hayley. She just couldn't believe what she witnessed. Since she was 4 years old, she followed him and his career, and now, after so many years, she was in the same location as the legend. She had a smile from ear to ear, and it made him into this God-like figure, in her eyes. He already couldn't do anything wrong, as his songs touched her soul since day one, but now his voice resonated throughout her body, and she immediately called it the best concert she's ever been to. A short interaction after the show ended, and then it was up to 20,000 people to leave. I was expecting madness and chaos, and as mad as it seemed, getting into the tube station, it wasn't as bad as I thought. We got on the tube, making our way home to North London, and we were still in shock of what happened. A cab journey home from the station, we entered our house, knowing what we just witnessed. But we couldn't dwell on it too long, as it was a freaking Sunday night/Monday early morning, and we had to work in a few hours. So we went to bed, and woke up with a smile on our faces. I had to give it a few days to recover, and look back at what just happened. Now, Wednesday, fresh and awake, I can look back, and conclude only one thing: it's been the best concert I've ever been to! And that's not an exaggeration! It was top notch from the start, including the supporting act, Lufthaus. RW's voice was on top, the songs were all solid, and the way he presented himself and the band and the dancers, everything was working well! And the end result was a wicked show, with confetti (that's just the deal breaker! can't have a concert without confetti!). All jokes aside, it was a tremendous set. The songs are all time classics, and timeless, and the XXV concert was proof that Robbie Williams is a pure entertainer. An entertainer for the masses, and one that will remain in the public domain for the rest of his life. He belongs to the greatest entertainers that has ever walked this Earth. Every single second was superb, and even though my camera couldn't capture it properly, I managed to take a few videos and pictures. The video quality was shite, so no need to share them via here. But the pictures are below, if you are interested! All in all, it was a wicked night. Not just for him having the perfect opening night, in one of the greatest cities on Earth (London), but for seeing my wife happy. Robbie, without you knowing, you've made my wife extremely happy with your show and your music. That teenage spark was ignited again, and she felt 'young' again. That girl with pictures of yourself on her wall. Her bedroom floor covered with magazines and CDs. You made the night special for her, and for that, I thank you. You made my wife a happy one, and you know what they say: happy wife, happy life. This was a one-off for me. Can't see him dancing like he did when he's 75. One day he'll decide to stop touring, and before we feel gutted, we did see him, and we witnessed a legendary night happening. No, it wasn't as big as his previous concerts, like Knebworth, but still fucking impressive. 20,000 people enjoyed themselves, and even though your clothes looked rather peculiar, it was part of the show. It had to be that suit, that kind of flashy. It's Robbie Williams, for crying out loud. I can only give it 5 out of 5. Knowing what I know now, I am glad I went with the wife. I only met her 14 years ago, so never knew how she was when she was a wee little lass, but during the concert I saw her innocence, her teenage self, come alive. She showed me a side to herself I never seen before, or witnessed (because I wasn't around when she was a proper teenager), but because of you, RW, I've seen it, and I'm glad. A brilliant night. I'm guessing that no tickets are available anymore for his other shows all around the world, but if you can get tickets, I urge you to do so. A night you won't forget!

  • Make or Break Showcase Vol 5 - Rough Territory (2022)

Sunday, time to unwind. For most people it is the day after a night out, and it is a day they really need to recover. Hopefully it was a good party, and you are still hearing that 'beep' noise in your head. For me it's a different day. Yesterday we did nothing at all, just relaxing and playing the PS4. But today me and the wife are going out, not to rave, but to see Robbie Williams. Not the biggest Robbie fan, but the wife certainly is. And I'm trying to get hyped up, but it takes a while. The concert starts tonight, so I still have a few hours to enjoy my music. And today's mix is brought to you by Make Or Break.... So, you might have seen the previous instalment of the Make Or Break showcase, which was mixed by Sekl. That was a solid mix. And the next one, which is the current one, was mixed by Rough Territory. I am still a newbie, and not familiar with Make Or Break, but their first showcase mix (which was the fourth, done by Sekl), did really impress me. So obviously I had to jump on this mix straight away... Which I did. And now you are reading the review. I thought I'd give it a go this Sunday afternoon. And it's been a blessing. I've been sitting here, discussing it with the wife, and we both seem to enjoy this mix a lot. And this mix isn't just your random mix, it is also to promote Rough Territory's latest release, which can be found in this mix too. But what tracks ended up in this mix? Well, these bad boys! Rough Territory - Fake Fears Response & Pliskin - Rave Victim Nubian Mindz - Kontrol Teknologies Loxy & Ink - Irrelevant Laytn & Offish - Downgrade Wreckless - Thick Cotton Blends Forest Drive West - Greed Congo Natty - Jungle Defender Block & Escher - From The Ashes dgoHn - Puppet (Equinox Remix) Zed Bias, Chimpo & Salo - Started With You Harmony - Cloud Burst Rough Territory - Walking On Wires Seba + Olski - The Future Technical Itch - RN7 Nebula - Come Back To Reality dgoHn - Lucky Gonk (Macc & dgoHn Remix) DJ Andy - Decapitator Forest Drive West - Break Lockjaw - Enamour Krugah - See The Sun FFF - In Toom Dwarde - Where Do I Go Rough Territory - Cool Down Your Temper Janaway - Acid Dub Krugah - you 2 me This has been a very chilled hour and 7 minutes. Rough Territory's mix is a very blissful mix, and highly recommendable. Unless you want something harder and rougher. In that case, go somewhere else. All jokes aside, this fifth instalment is a very good one, a solid mix. Rough Territory has done a remarkable job. And even though I've not heard of Rough Territory before or any of the names in the mix (besides Congo Natty of course), it's been an interesting mix, and R.T. has gained a new follower: me! I've got nothing negative to mention. This mix brings out the best in me, and has made me a very happy bunny. One thing is for sure: you all need to follow Make Or Break, and Rough Territory. If this mix is a rough indication as to what R.T. has got in store, it's worth a follow. And check out their latest EP on Bandcamp! A solid mix. And now I'm ready to go out. Sadly it's not to a rave, but it's a Robbie gig. But I'm still going out, not staying in! And neither should you! • Revokez presents: Best of Thunderdome IX - XII (2022)

Saturday. And I've been busy the last few days. Needed to attend a 2 day training session, which took up most of my time, and during those 2 days, I wasn't listening to any music whatsoever. and that was kind of frustrating. But now I'm back, with a mix that looks so good, I couldn't just ignore it. I had to jump on it, and give it a go. Revokez was responsible for making this mix, and it contains records from arguably the best Thunderdome CDs ever. The four albums I've absorbed and adored from the day they were released. These four still hold their value, and have got the finest Hardcore anthems from the 90s on them. And Revokez decided to create this 'best of' mix series, starting with Thunderdedome 9 and ending with Thunderdome 12. These 4 CDs are still my favourite CDs ever. Especially number 12. What a gorgeous CD. And even though I'm a bit scared of spiders, I'm perfectly OK with this CD. The tracks on it are so damn good. But 10, 11, and even 9 are equally as good. Not better than 12, hell to the no! When you look at the tracklist below, you will instantly see the glorious tracks selected by Revokez, and you will be amazed to acknowledge that these tracks were on these four CDs. So many great anthems. And they still are awesome, many years after they've been released. There weren't flawless, as there we still stinkers on each album, but the majority of anthems have stayed strong over the years. My personal view on the Thunderdome collection is that these 4 were the best of the best. The odd number here and there were good, but 4 in a row? Only these 4. But now the tracklist. Ready for it? Tails & Noizer - Drum & Basz Weirdo & Sim - Pump That Stupid Bass Lock Jaw - Deep In The Underground Isaac - Bad Dreams (Remix) Diss Reaction - Jiieehaaa Scott Brown - Fucked In Your Ass Omar Santana - Wizard Of Oh Bass Generator - The Event Weirdo & Phil Omanski - Young Birds Baba Nation - Jesus Words Sim - Cartoons In Progress Sim - Loud As Fuck (54321 Mix) Lancinhouse - Cold's Getting Better Section-8 - Punnany (The Prophet Remix) Scott Brown - Dum Dooby Dum Chosen Few - Name Of The DJ The Prophet - Big Boys Don't Cry Sim - Straight Of The Dancefloor The Prophet - Rock Steady Paul Elstak - Code Red Duo Pennotti - Addicted 2 Raves (Buzz Fuzz Remix) Party Animals - Have You Ever Been Mellow (Hard Mix) The Prophet & Delirium - Da Boom In Bass Bertocucci Feranzano - E-Motion (Buzz Fuzz Remix) Tim B - Stick Up (Chicomen Remix) Public Domain - I Know It 3 Steps Ahead - Drop It Sim - Time To Hit The Record Psylocke - Pump It Buzz Fuzz - Summertime Wasting Program - Jazz Sacrilege The Judges & DJ Promo - I'm The Law Bomber - Rambo Goes Riot The Controllers - In Control, In Effect The tracks selected are cool. Some are just superb, and some aren't, but at least it's a nice mixture of everything I needed to hear today. One thing I've noticed from this mix is the amount of DJ Sim records in it. I'm guessing Revokez is also a fan of DJ Sim, and so he should be. Everyone who loves the early Hardcore sound should love DJ Sim. Such a shame he left the scene. Such a wicked producer, honestly underrated producer. Just look at the amount of his records in this mix... Revokez's mix is a good one. Really good tracks selected. And the finest of the four CDs. The mixing itself has got some errors in it, and it doesn't go as smooth as you want it to sound, which is unfortunate. You still feel the music coming through the speakers though, and you still catch the drift as to why this mix was made in the first place. So many memories, so many glorious records. And as much as I love most of them, like 'Wizard of Oh', 'I Know It', 'Drop It', 'Drum & Basz', I have to give all my love and appreciation to 'Loud As Fuck (54321 Mix)' by DJ Sim. Still the coolest track ever made! Agree or disagree, let me know in the comments below. A cool mix to start your weekend with, even though it's already 1/4 done. Enjoy it, and appreciate the early sound. I will keep an eye out for the other mixes by Revokez though, could be interesting to listen to. Maybe you should do the same? • 1995 Happy Hardcore Mix Vol. 2 (2022)

Tuesday has arrived, one day closer to the weekend. And let's start today with a mix that takes us back to the mid 90s. And yes, it's filled with Happy Hardcore anthems. And the year in question? Well, if you haven't guessed by now (by reading the title of this review), it's the year of our Lord 1995. Remember that year? So many things happened in that year, and I quickly had a look on Wikipedia, and there's a lot of negative stuff that happened back then. Not something to be reminded of, so let's focus on Andy's mix and the tunes he selected for this mix... Happy Hardcore. 1995. It wasn't at its peak yet, that was (to me) the following year. But don't underestimate this year, as it paved the way for the biggest year for the style ever. It swooped the British dance scene, and also grew in popularity all over Europe. And every country had their own approach to the style. The mix you are about to listen to, made by Andy Pav, is filled with those big British anthems. Love them or hate them, you will certainly have to underline their importance to the scene in general. But truth be told, who hates Happy Hardcore? You cannot dislike this music, and the mix you are about to listen to, has got those anthems you cannot dislike, nor ignore. And Andy has selected a fair few wicked tunes. The mix might only be 56 minutes long, but within those minutes he serves you 14 wicked records. You ready for the tracklist? Ready to go back in time? If you are, let's go! Midas - Groove Control DJ Seduction - Samplemania (Remix) The Scotchman - Happy Vibes Billy 'Daniel' Bunter & JDS - Music Is Moods The Vampire - Teknostorm DJ Seduction - Disco Hardcore Dougal & Mickey Skeedale - Really Love You (Remix) Vibes & Wishdokta - No More Tears 2 Left Feet - Never Let You Go Vibena - Positive Energy (DJ Brisk Remix) DJ Pooch - Live For The Future Two Ruff - Bouncing Darkness Q-Tex vs Technosis - Kaos Scott Brown - A New Feeling Will you look at this!? This is really a nice looking tracklist. Good selection of tunes by Andy Pav. Got nothing else to say about that, because that is the truth. The tracks are solid as a rock! Obviously the mix starts with DJ Midas' tune. A good track to start your mix with, that's for damn sure. And it sets the tone for the rest of the mix. The rest of the mix remains as awesome as you would expect it to be. And damn, those classics... one after the other. No time to sit back and unwind... you are expected to be moving constantly! This mix has been played over and over by yours truly, and it's been an amazing journey back to the year 95. Such an underestimated year, and it should get more recognition for what it meant to us ravers. Andy's mix is dope, and it's got DJ Pooch's 'Live For The Future' in it. First time I heard it was on the Happy Hardcore Megamix CD, and still to this day it's a monster of a track! Love it! More Happy Hardcore from 1995 please! • Oldschool BZRK Records Compilation Mix by Dj Djero (2013)

Saturday has come, time for some Hardcore. And only recently did I do a review of a mix done by DJ Djero. And only after browsing his YouTube channel did I find other mixes dedicated to other labels, such as Brrr Records, Coolman Records, Bad Vibes Records, Waxweazle Records, K.N.O.R. Records, and many more. Today's mix is the one focussed on BZRK Records, which was created by the legendary DJ Buzz Fuzz back in the mid 90s. This label had the biggest hits, and I'm not kidding. The first release was maybe the labels biggest hit: 'XTC Love' by Bertocucci Feranzano, a.k.a. Buzz Fuzz.. remember that hit? I was a huge sucker for the label and the music released on it. And the songs were released on many compilations. Buzz Fuzz's label dominated during the 90s and early 2000s. And even though it had the ugliest logo (don't even know what it represents, to be fair), it had the dopest hits. And DJ Djero's selection contains a handful of them, in a nice short mix. The label has been a significant influence to many, and during the glorious 90s it released hit after hit. It's been such a stable force, and we should be grateful that Buzz Fuzz got the opportunity to create his 'own' label under the ID&T umbrella. The hits... you cannot describe it. It was the go-to label. If you wanted the coolest Hardcore/Happy Hardcore records, BZRK was the place to be. If you go to Discogs, you will see the whole catalogue, and it will astonish you. Most songs, and I do mean most, are all time classics now. And can you play a set without playing at least one BZRK record in it? No, you can't. Buzz Fuzz was (and still is) the GOAT. Be it part of a team, duo, or own his own, he made things happen, and gave us memorable anthems we still love to this day. And 13 of them have made it into this mix. You are probably desperate to find out which ones Djero used? E-Rick & Tactic - Stop The Music Da Beatblower - Fuck Your S Off (DJ E-Rick & Tactic Mix) Bertocucci Feranzano - XTC Love (Original Mix) Pino D'Ambini - Up & Down (Original Mix) Jeremy - The Flow (Original Mix) Masoko Solo - Pessa Pessa (DJ Cerla's 172 Bpm Rave Mix) Toni Salmonelli - Hey! E-Rick & Tactic - Don't Like Mondays (Ulli Kneudelbaum & Franz Putzenbacher Mix) Buzz Fuzz - Dreamgirl (Just A Buzzy Dreammix) Buzz Fuzz - Frequencies (Original '95 Mix) Wasting Program - Bring That Shit Back (DJ Promo's Not For Sale Mix) Public Domain - Mellomaniacs Menace II Society - Chronic Disorder Just be warned, in case you might have underlying medical issues: if you watch the video, it might create seizures. When I watched it for the first time, it freaked me out, and I wasn't ready. Some might be able to handle, and some don't. Just be aware. You can listen to this mix, but make sure you do not watch the video, as it might be seizure inducing. But the tracks itself are glorious. And just remember, and if my knowledge is correct, Angerfist's first release was on this label. We would still have him being one of the greatest producers of all time, but everything is linked to BZRK Records. It also creates this big question I've got: what has happened to those big names? What happened to Public Domain (remember their Thunderdome 97 set? Big set!), Jeremy, where did he go to? E-Rick & Tactic, why did they disappear? Wasting Program? Anyone heard from them? The tracks are solid as a rock. A few stand out for me. But the one that took me by surprise was Public Domain's record. What a timeless masterpiece of a record! The mix itself has got some issues here and there. It ain't as smooth as you want it to be, but you have to give him credit for trying, and for making sure those underrated labels are left in people's memories, and are kept alive. They deserve so much more appreciation for what they've done... • The Prophet - The Hardcore Archive Part 1 (1993-1994) | Official Mix (2022)

On the 3rd of August this year, the Hardstyle and Hardcore community were shocked, in disbelief. An announcement was made on social media, and the message was: DJ The Prophet is going to retire! That came out of the blue, and no one was ready for that announcement. To be fair, he's been in the game for 35+ years, and has seen it all and done it all. He's been working his ass off for many years, and it's time for him now to enjoy retirement. He's earned it, but it still leaves a weird taste in our mouths. We weren't ready for this news, especially as the Prophet has been in my life since 1993. I was 10 years old. Now I'm nearly 40. He's been in my life 3/4th of my life on Earth! Think about that, let that sink in! I can't remember the first The Prophet tune I've ever heard. I can't even pin point when it was. But it must have been around 1993 or 1994. I think it could have been my first Mysteryland CD, from 1994. And it wasn't even this alias he was using, he was also known as 'The Rose'. But one thing's for sure: he's been around for a few years, and has entertained the dance lovers with his music. During the 90s he was more focussed on the Hardcore side of life, and after the Millennium he dominated in the Hardstyle scene, up to this day. The Hardstyle side of The Prophet isn't my most favourite side of his. I more prefer him as a Hardcore producer/DJ, and for me his alias he created (The Masochist) became the one act I witnessed at Mysteryland 1998 Outdoor I will never forget. And the music, boy, the music was great! It was one of those nights you will never forget, and still to this day I love the CD with the Masochist's set on it. Funnily enough, I'd only listen to it the other day, and still got goosebumps! I was a fan of The Prophet. And I still think he's a super producer. DJ too, but I'm more focussed on his music. To this day I only think I've seen him play live once, and that was in 1998. His music has been great, and he gave the world his views on Hardcore, and we absorbed it, like we were sponges. We adored the living daylight out of this man, and now he's about to retire. Which is obviously not what we want, but think about it this way: do you want to see him behind the decks when he's 75, rocking the hearing aids, in a wheel chair? Nah, let him leave the stage with dignity and respect. And now is the time! He's still going to do his thing, for the next few months he'll be travelling the world, bringing The Prophet where he can, and then he's going to end his career. A well deserved rest as The Prophet. And within the next few weeks he's going to release exclusive albums, all focussed around The Prophet and The Masochist alias. The first part, which you are about to listen to, is focussed around the songs from 1993 and 1994. Part 2 is 1995 to 1996, part three is 1997, and The Masochist's album is 1998 to 1999. Guess which album I'm looking out for the most? Correct, 1995 to 1996. What, were you thinking of the Masochist album? Wrong! Already have his 'best of' album. I'm still going to buy that album though, don't get me wrong! The first album mix is now online, and it's only half an hour long, and it gives you a taste of what to expect from the album. But TCD, which songs are in this mix? The Prophet - Spirits Of Soul (Original Mix) The Prophet - Dundee (Original Mix) The Prophet - Feel It (Original Mix) The Prophet - 4 Buffalo's (Original Mix) The Prophet - God (Original Mix) The Prophet - Party Children (Original Mix) The Prophet - Domantin (DJ Dano's Summer Mix) The Prophet - Allright Now Here We Go!!! (Original Mix) The Prophet - The Dreamtheme (Original Mix) If you don't know The Prophet's early work, you might be in for a bit of a shock. Yes, it was called Hardcore, but it was more mellow-ish. More House-ish. And I freaking love it! You might not even know him from his Hardcore era. You might not even have been born before 2002! I am so glad I was born in the 80s, and having lived throughout the 90s, those were the days. And The Prophet dominated during those years. What I'm not saying is that every single song he's ever made was a hit. Some weren't his greatest work, and that's OK. As long as the majority are, and in his case they are. Can't wait for the tracklists for the other albums, they will be glorious. But today it's all about part 1. These songs are sooo good! From all these used for this mix, his biggest has to be 'Allright Now Here We Go!!!'. Fight me in the comments if you disagree. But it was a dancefloor demolishing record. Rob Gee took the record and made it his own, but the original still rules! The Prophet always had his own approach to Hardcore, be it on his own or part of a group, like the Dreamteam. His signature style was always known, and loved by everyone. And his music is surely going to be missed. Thankfully we've got his extensive back catalogue to fall back to, and if you can, make sure you see him perform before he grabs his headphones for the last time and chucks them in the corner... But which record is the best? Again, you might be thinking a specific record, but I'm going for 'Spirits Of Soul'. I loved the House side of The Prophet, it was freaking awesome! A wonderful first album. You might see a general review of all the albums soon, but they need to be released first, and that will happen over the next few weeks/months. But keep an eye out for more Prophet-madness! • Tiesto Classics Mix (2019)

It is Monday, and another week has just commenced. And we are to listen to a Tiesto mix. Remember Tiesto and his early work? When he dominated the Trance scene? When he was the first (or one of the first) to have his own concert, where the was the main focus? Remember when he released hit album after hit album, and had massive success all over the world? Remember those days? I do. And I even remember listening to his 'Tiesto In Concert' when it was broadcasted via Dutch radio station 3FM. I was listening throughout the night. Recorded everything on good old cassettes. Those were the days.... The mix I am listening to is filled with the early Trance anthems we all know and love. Not all of them of course, because he made plenty. But just a handful. Enough to keep us occupied for an hour and a half. And that's enough for now, right? As long as they are the big hits, and that's what we desperately need. Tiesto during the Millennium years, nothing can beat that. I only saw him live once, and that was at Innercity. The place was rammed, and for good reason. He was slowly becoming the world's greatest DJ, and also his producing side would explode. The amount of tracks he worked on, is extraordinary. And in this mix, made by Marc Astley, is packed with the big hits. Some more obscure than the others, but still glorious though. What's in this mix? Good question. The answer? These songs.... Tiesto - Ten Seconds Before Sunrise Tiesto & Mark Knight - Beautiful World Tiesto - Just Be Tiesto - Dallas 4PM Tiesto - Traffic Salt Tank - Eugina (Tiesto Mix) Tiesto - Flight 643 Paul Oakenfold - Southern Sun (Tiesto Mix) Gouryella - Gouryella Tiesto - Theme From Norefjell Delerium - Silence (Tiesto's In Search Of Sunrise Mix) Jan Johnston - Flesh (Tiesto Mix) Kamaya Painters - Wasteland Binary Finary - 1999 (Gouryella Mix) Tiesto - Suburban Train It's a good looking tracklist, that's for damn sure. Not all are my favourite early Tiesto records, but certainly most of them are. And you cannot play a Tiesto set without 'Flight 643', probably his biggest hit as a Trance producer (his EDM side has probably given him more success, but that's a different story). And what about 'Traffic', or when he worked with Ferry Corsten as Gouryella? The glorious years! The DJ behind this mix has given us an hour and a half of Tiesto, and for that, I thank him. During the Millennium years I bought nearly everything Tiesto related, I was a fan of him. He was the best of the best. And mixes like this one take me way back to the early days. The glorious years. The best years of Trance. And probably Tiesto's finest years. Not a fan of 'Just Be'. I always found that song boring as hell. Not his finest work. but what is his finest work, that is 'Dallas 4PM'. Love that track. Yes, his biggest hits are still classics, but this record is just perfect for me. A cool mix with some seriously insane timeless Trance classics. Check it out! • Oldschool Mokum Records Compilation Mix by Dj Djero (2013)

During the 90s I was a full-on Hardcore fanatic, an there were a few labels I would follow. One of them being Mokum Records. This Amsterdam based label had some really awesome records being released during the 90s, and probably the biggest commercial success records of all time. In the mix you are about to listen to, you will hear a few of the biggest records of the 90s. Period. They did release a shit ton of excellent tunes, made by the likes of artists such as Tellurian, Dano, Chosen Few, Rob Gee, Scott Brown, Technohead, Party Animals, and more. The label was the shit during the 90s. Everyone wanted a piece of it, and now, in 2022, I'm going back in time. Not only because this mix was made 9 years ago, but also the tracks... 90s classics. Sit back and enjoy! DJ Djero made this mix back in 2013. 30 records in this hour and 44 minutes long mix. And they are the coolest records money could buy. Also a few stinkers, but hey, it can't all be perfect? All jokes aside, Mokum was one of those labels that had this distinctive sound, and maybe you don't know, but every label had their own sound. You could differentiate a song released on Mokum from other labels, such as Rotterdam Records, their main rivals. Every city, every country had their own sound, their own approach to Hardcore. And it was as exciting as it was funny. Labels would compete against each other, and release the coolest records out there. It was a healthy competition. And in this mix you can find a lot of excellent tunes. You will certainly embrace the sound from the 'Dam, and hopefully it will enlighten this spark for 90s Hardcore music. No time to waste, let's dive straight into the mix and which tracks were played by DJ Djero! Hakkuhbar - Gabbertje (Hakkuh Mix) Party Animals feat Sugarbaby - Atomic (Flamman & Abraxas Radiomix) Party Animals - Have You Ever Been Mellow (Extended Mix) Party Animals - Aquarius (Flamman & Abraxas Radio Mix) Technohead - Happy Birthday (Tellurian Mix) Party Animals - Used & Abused (Amnesia Mix) Chosen Few - Name Of The DJ (Buzz Fuzz Mix) Vitamin - My House Is Your House Cyanide vs Maniac Of Noize - Stringz Annihilator - Out Of Focus Scott Brown' Annihilator - Mindwar Tellurian - Get Raw Annihilator - Ye Shall Die Tellurian - I Won't Stop Rocking Ceasefire - Unconscious World The Outside Agency - Witchcraft Cyanide - Edge Of Panic Tellurian - Guyver Omar Santana - Mad Creator (Original Mix) Scott Browns' Annihilator - Realm Of Darkness DJ Dano - Starting Up Fear Factory - T-1000 (H-K) (DJ Dano Mix) Chosen Few - Chosen Paradise Rob Gee & Ralphie Dee - Mellow Message Annihilator - S.D.R. (Bam Bam) The Original Gabber - Pump That Puzzy Party Animals - E.H.B.O. Party Animals - Wapperdewap (Hardcore Mix) Technohead - Banan-na-na (Phun Phactory Mix) Riot Nation - Abba-gabba (Speedfreak Mutterficker Massaker) This is a sick looking list. It certainly is. It starts of a bit lame, with those dreadful (yet very intoxicating) happy and cheesy Hardcore songs. After the 5th song the harder stuff is played, and from that moment on my speakers have gone up in volume. As mentioned before, Mokum as a label meant a lot to me. Knowingly or unknowingly. I was a full on Hardcore fanatic and bought every album, but never went too deep in who's behind each alias, which label it was released on, etc. So there have been a few records over the years which I only discover in the 20s who was behind the record, and which label it was released on. I can very quickly which record I ADORED during the 90s the most. It appeared on many compilations, and it's Tellurian's 'Guyver'. What a big ass record it was, and still is. But it certainly wasn't the only record I played over and over. I was (and still am) a Happy Hardcore fan, and when the Party Animals dominated the charts, I purchased a few of their singles. Yes, I know, and I don't care what you think of me. The mix is very nice. There are some mixing errors, and the record quality itself goes up and down. Just listen to Technohead's 'Banan-na-na'. Sounds more mono compared to all the other songs. It's a nice mix, but not the best Mokum appreciation mix ever made.. One mix that will get you through today. Show your love and appreciation for this label, and listen to this, like the thousands of ravers who already listened to this and appreciated! • SCAR Old Skool MetalHeadz Mix (2016)

Today is a day that just doesn't want to happen. It's going really slow, and I had difficulties getting out of bed. So damn tired, and I need a rest. I need a well deserved holiday, which me and the missus haven't had this year (or last year, or the year before). But before that happens, I need something to keep me going, and something keeping me awake, and on my toes. And you've guessed it: TCD has found a YouTube mix you will appreciate, and if you are struggling at the moment, this mix will certainly get you back onto your feet. An old skool MetalHeadz mix by SCAR. Yeah, you weren't ready for that, were you? And the funny thing is? As I'm typing this sentence, 12 hours have gone by, and I've still not finished this review. Today has really been a long ass day, and even though I've listened to this mix over 10 times, I still didn't find the time and energy (and maybe urge) to finish this review. But it shows my dedication on finish what I've started. And also the fact that this is a dope ass mix, if I've been listening to it over and over. I woke up this morning, feeling hungry for some Drum and Bass. One label always stands out, which is MetalHeadz. One of the, if not, the biggest label in the DnB scene. And over the years it's been at the forefront of many excellent and timeless tunes. DJ SCAR, who made this mix, took a handful of awesome records, and made this mix worth while. It's a 52 minute long mix, with only 12 tracks, but that should be sufficient for you to get your DnB fix. And I've had this playing over and over, I certainly had my fix. This mix gave me goosebumps from the start, and made me feel more chilled than I already was. Maybe that wasn't the right thing to do today, seeing as I was feeling energy-less... But hey ho, what can you do? Dillinja - The Angels Fell Doc Scott - Unofficial Ghost Wax Doctor - The Step Adam F - Metropolis Asylum - Bass 2 Dark Doc Scott - Far Away Peshay - On The Nile Peshay - The Nocturnal Photek - The Rain Source Direct - Stone Killer Dillinja - Armoured D Dillinja - Jah Know Ur Big This mix is dope. Seriously dope. Smooth vibes from the start to the end. And filled with the big anthems. Not the commercial successes, but a mixture of a bit of both: underground, and above ground records (if that makes any freaking sense). Normally a MetalHeadz mix contains Goldie records, but not this one. It's mainly Doc Scott, Dillinja, Peshay, and a few others that are in this mix. But these are prolific producers, without a shadow of a doubt. And the tracks they made (and released) still remain wicked anthems. Wouldn't go amiss from any DnB event, right? A certainly excellent mix for you to listen to, to wind down this Friday evening. Got absolutely nothing negative to mention, nor point out any issues with this mix. No errors, absolutely nothing wrong with this mix. So you know what I'll be saying next? If you haven't checked this out already, do it now! Worth your time, trust me! • DJ Van Bellen – Nightclubbing Vol. 1 (1996)

I remember when I bought this album, isn't that strange? Well, not 100% strange, but it's weird that I know that I didn't buy this, but my mum did, and I know exactly where it was I got hold of this album. ECI Bookstore in 't Loon, in Heerlen. Top floor. I wanted this album, because it was part of the deal they had: you needed to buy a certain amount of books/CDs/etc every month of bi-monthly to remain a member of this 'club'. It was a shoddy club, and it was one of the first memories I had of a shoddy club that required you to purchase a certain amount, or they would charge you. It was fucked up, but thankfully it isn't there anymore. Cash grabbing bastards! But now back to the music. Because mum was a member (maybe by accident, who knows?), we went every so often and purchased a book here and there, and also CDs. She was actually the one that purchased my first Mysteryland CD there. Thanks mum! But she also purchased this CD by Joost van Bellen, DJ Vanbellen, or however you would like to spell his name. This world famous DJ has been in the game for many years, and has been there since the start of the House music, so to buy an album mixed by him was going to be a no-brainer. I was into House music, but not the underground House. You know, the music you would hear in clubs and raves. I was into the 'commercial' House music, so when I purchased this album (*ahum*), I wasn't aware of any of the artists on this album. I knew of Joost van Bellen, but that was all. It was luck that brought me to this album. Why else would I have picked this album up? No real reason, it wasn't filled with the tunes you would hear on the top 40. Something deep down inside me told me to get this album. Or it could have been my mum, saying she needed one more item to get a discount... From the first time I heard this album to today, I am still in love. This mix series only ran for three CDs, and then just died. Don't know why. I have never purchased the other two albums, but I'm glad that I did buy this one. Because this one is the pure definition of House/Garage House. You want to know what a good album is, an album that embraces House/Garage House? THIS ONE! I still hold this album close to my heart, 26 years after its release. And if you've never encountered this album, no worries: it's not too late to appreciate good music. And one of my most favourite albums ever! Ashley Beedle - Revolutions In Dub (Deep Dish Jumpin' At The Bar - Part 1) Bladed Posse - Right Now Sticky People - Make U My Man (Paradox Stomp Mix) Ralphi Rosario - Sudando Bailando Crime - Flight In 2 Fantasy Robin Breaks - I Get Dubbed Djaimin - You Can't Touch - Part 1 Mood II Swing - Call Me Bone Machine - Pianic (Amsterjammix) Dangerous Minds - Live In Unity JohNick - Play The World Strictly 4 The Underground - Livin' 4 The Underground Kenlou - The Bounce The Underground Congregation - Lovin Flowin (Underflow Mix) Adrian Morrison - The Week K-Scope - Planet K 7th Movement - Odyssey (Dub Star Disco Mix) Even to this day I'm not familiar with any of these artists, and I cannot remember seeing them on other compilations. Only heard them on this CD. Maybe I didn't pay enough attention, but to me that's the truth. Thanks to those thieving bastards at ECI I am now in possession of this album. So even though they robbed us of Guilders/Euros, I am still pleased I got this disc. I don't hold a grudge because of this album though. It's a glorious album, and funnily enough the only album I've ever purchased, mixed by Joost van Bellen. Even my wife can tolerate this music. And I'm not kidding. She normally despises everything I listen to, but this album is on her 'OK' list. Especially when she hears the song 'Live In Unity'. According to her the lyrics remain in her head for days. She isn't the only one though. It is catchy as fuck though. BUT, that's not the best song of this album. It is 'Livin' 4 The Underground'. The dark vocals, the dark beats and bass... everything is just perfect with this track. If you want to know which album I recommend, if you are searching for House music from the 90s, this is one of the top 3 best albums from the 90s. A classic album. Maybe slightly underrated, but here's your chance to catch up on an awesome album. Everything you need and more! • Acid House Mix (1988 - 1990) (2013)

I hate waking up early. I really do. But I am a morning person. It does take me a while to properly wake up, and this morning the wife had to take the train early, so I had to wake up earlier too. Now I'm sitting here, already working for nearly 1 1/2 hour, And normally I would be listening to something to wake me up, something hard and rough (and quite violent), but not today. After seeing a video yesterday of DJs guessing track names and titles (it's this highly popular thing on YouTube), the latest video was focussed on Acid House, so my heart started beating faster, and now I'm into the Acid House sound we don't hear anymore. The early stuff. And seeing as you are reading this, you are too?! You've probably read the title of this review and thought 'oh, I'll have a bit of that'. And that's a good statement, because who doesn't like Acid House? Who can honestly say they dislike Acid House? And to think that there are generations of kids being born that have never heard of Acid House? It's unbelievable. How can you walk this Earth not knowing what this glorious sound is? It's beyond belief! The mix you are about to listen to, was uploaded onto YouTube back in 2013, nearly 10 years ago, and was made by Procc23. Never seen or heard of that name before, so we will dive straight into the tracklist, and that's the reason why you are here, right? There are the most well known Acid House tracks in here, and a few obscure ones. And even though it is a short mix, it's still a gorgeous one, and you get to hear 16 wicked tracks. But which tracks am I referring to? Well, these: Maurice - This Is Acid Fast Eddie Smith - Can U Dance Kraze - The Party Terry Baldwin (Housemaster) feat But Lator - I Have A Dream Wood Allen - Airport 89 Jungle Crew - Elektric Dance Donne - Come Get My Lovin' Reese & Santonio - Back To The Beat (With ''The Sound'') Clubland feat Quartz - Let's Get Busy Black Riot - A Day In The Life Inner City - Big Fun Bam Bam - Give It To Me A Guy Called Gerald - Voodoo Ray DJK - Crazy Bam Bam - Where's Your Child? Aphex Twin - Analogue Bubblebath Oh, the nostalgia. Can't believe these tracks are between 32 and 34 years old. I am a tad older, but still it's unbelievable to think that these are 3 decades old already! Why does time fly by all of a sudden? Who said that we could leave Acid House back in the late 80s/early 90s, and not bring it with us to the present day? Why did it all change? Unfortunately I was too young to go out raving when Acid House dominated the world, and I can only imagine how awesome it must have been. Being in your 20s-30s and hearing this on the dancefloor. Basic speaker set, simple lightening equipment, and that's it. And maybe a few bits of 'happy pills' to get you in the zone. But just to be there and experience this, I would have danced the night away and have big fun! This is a jolly good sounding mix. Procc23 made this mix, and it stood the test of time. I am indeed having big fun, to quote Inner City. And as commercial as the song was (and still is), it is my favourite of this mix. It just brings a smile on my face. This mix in general does, but this song just brightens my day. Check this mix out, and go back in time. When the music was underground and new, and something your parents would deny you access to, as it was the forbidden fruit... music made by the Devil! • Mike Dierickx (Push) Tribute Mix

Monday, bank holiday, is behind us, and the UK is now getting back to work. It's been a weird three day weekend for many of us, but we have to keep calm, and carry on. We are good at doing that, and I'm here to help you all to stay calm. How, you might be wondering? Well, by providing you with a wicked mix, uploaded on Trance Classics' Soundcloud channel, and guess what kind of music this mix is focussed on? Yes, you guessed it, Trance. Specifically tracks made by the legendary and all-mighty Push, a.k.a. M.I.K.E., a.k.a. P.U.S.H., and more aliases you probably never heard of. This legendary producer has given us a lot of excellent Trance anthems, and he might have been busy since the early 90s, but around the Millennium his music reached next level status. He became a God, literally! His discography is immense, and there's no other producer that can come close to what he has released over the years, and the man is still a busy bee! But to me, his Millennium sound was and still is the best. Fight me in the comments if you disagree. But you know you can't. Mike PUSH is a legend, and his music has become timeless classics. Highly regarded in the Trance scene. You cannot listen to a 'best of' Trance CD or music list on your streaming devices without having at least 1 or 2 Push records in it. You just cannot do that. Trance Classics made this dedication mix, and uploaded it yesterday onto Soundcloud, and even though it is still fairly fresh, a few comments have already been posted, and they've all been positive. But how it not be positive, it's a Mike Push mix! Well, not made by him, but the attention is all towards the tracks made by him. And I cannot imagine another way of waking up today, and getting ready for work. You will definitely want to listen to this mix, and you want to do it right now! Push has used a lot of aliases, and even though I know most of them, there are still a few out there I've not heard before. It's a new day, new things to learn. But what I don't need to learn and I already know, is that this is probably the finest producer we've ever seen in the Trance scene! But which tracks were played by Trance Classics? You are wondering, but worry no longer: Mass Effect - Alphascan Push - Strange World (2000 Remake) Push - The Legacy Push vs Globe - Tranceformation Moon Project - Moments Are Forever M.I.K.E. vs John OO Fleming - Ice Cream (M.I.K.E. Remix) Push - Tranzy State Of Mind Exposure - Magic Impulse Plastic Boy - Silver Bath Push - Till We Meet Again Solar Factor - Urban Shakedown Plastic Boy - Twixt M.I.K.E. - Sunrise At Palamos Mauro Picotto - Back To Cali (Push Remix) Extreme Trax - Final Fantasy Push - Universal Nation One question I've got for Mike a.k.a. Push, did he knew how powerful his songs would be when he made them? Did he know they would become all time classics? Did he know the strength behind each record, and that they would become timeless? Did he know? He must have known, right? This is such an awesome mix. Seriously, the amount of awesome tracks is insane! But we knew that already. But the sheer quality of each song is beyond belief. Push, or whatever alias he uses, is just a God. Each song is quality over quantity, and Trance Classics takes us through the best years of Push. As mentioned before, he's been releasing music since around 1994, but it's the Millennium stuff which reigns supreme! His music did have a distinctive sound, but that's just how we like it. You can tell when Mike has been involved. A wicked mix, and with a few of Mike's biggest hits, like 'Universal Nation', 'The Legacy', 'Strange World', but to me 'Urban Shakedown' has to be his biggest. What a monster anthem. Goosebumps whenever I hear it. Heard it first being played at Tiesto in Concert many years ago, and it never failed to impress me ever since. Thanks Trance Classics for making this mix, and making my Tuesday morning slightly better! • Mind Control - Hard To The Core Volume 1 (2022)

It's Thursday, and we are a bit closer to the weekend. And I'm not WFH, but in the office. And when I do go to the office, I always try and squeeze in an hour in the gym, just to release the tension, and maybe gain some physical changes (which are really required imho). Yesterday I was a tad tired, and needed something hard and rough to get me through the session. I stumbled upon this mix a few days ago, and have saved it to listen to it at a later stage, and yesterday was the day. I pressed play, and within seconds I was already reaching my own limits, and nearly destroying the cross trainer and the bicycle... why? Well, the music made my heart pump faster and I had energy for 10 people! As you could have guessed, it's filled with Hardcore music. The mix was made by someone called Music Pollution. Which, funnily enough, is what most people around me think about my musical preferences. Especially Hardcore, because according to them it's rubbish. Well, I couldn't give a flying fish fuck about their opinions. For me it was the right kind of music to get me hyped up between 4 and 5pm in the gym. Don't know much about Noise Pollution, but what I do know is that this mix is quite energising. It gives you the right amount of power, and even though it's a mix where most tracks are made by Angerfist, Tha Playah, or Miss K8, it's still good enough. I couldn't care less, as long as my headphones were at maxed out volume and the bass is coming through my ears. But the main question today is, which tracks did Noise Pollution use? Well, these ones: Angerfist - The Other Side (Extended Mix) Miss K8 & Angerfist - Act On Impulse (Extended Mix) Nosferatu & Angerfist - Sinister Connection (Extended Mix) Miss K8 - Icebreaker (Nosferatu Extended Mix) Nosferatu - Adagio For The Wicked (Extended Mix) Angerfist & Miss K8 - Madrid Miss K8 - Inspire (Extended Mix) Miss K8 - The Last Spartan (Extended Mix) Miss K8 & Nolz - Eclipse (Extended Mix) Tha Playah - The Illest (Extended Mix) Tha Playah - Be Cool (Extended Mix) Tha Playah - My Misery (N-Vitral Extended Remix) Miss K8 & D-Sturb - Dope Shit (Extended Mix) Miss K8 & Nolz - Raiders Of Rampage (2022 Refix) (Extended Mix) Dither & Nolz - Shockwave (Extended Mix) Miss K8 - Temper Miss K8 - Hardcore Generation Miss K8 & N-Vitral - We Like To Slaughter (Extended Mix) Nosferatu - When The Devil Knows Your Name (Extended Mix) This is a great looking tracklist, and it's carefully selected by Noise Pollution. A good selection of tracks that can be seen as dancefloor smashers. And also a few extremely new(ish) track that will certainly put a smile on your face. I've not listened to Miss K8's CD yet, but I certainly will. This mix has sparked my interest in this mix, and I've now have a found interest in her CD. Especially after hearing 'The Last Spartan'. What a track! And it's got the most famous bit in fil in film history, right? Gerard Butler's portrayal is so damn good, and his voice suits this song extremely well. But also Angerfist's latest track, oh so glorious! I can talk for hours, but I won't. This mix has got everything you need to hear, and is carefully mixed together. Really enjoyed this mix, and my reintroduction into the present day Hardcore. Been away from it for a while, and that's because I was more focussed on the old school style, but now I'm back, and I'm loving it. A solid mix. Check it out! • Saturday Seshions 'Hardcore Heaven' - HDSN (3/9/22)

Hardcore Heaven. That's exactly what I picture Heaven to be. You walk in, through the pearly gates, and you enter Heaven. Guided by the angels, you walk into the unknown, but it makes you feel like 'home': the DJ is playing UK Hardcore for you. It's the ultimate rave, 24/7, 52 weeks, 365 days of pure pleasure. Until the end of days, whenever that might be. It might sound like a lot, and might be a tad boring after a few decades in Heaven, but not for me. I would embrace it, and rave forever and ever. Once a raver, always a raver. Today's mix is one that might give you a taster of what it will be like, hearing UK Hardcore forever and ever. The mix thankfully ain't that long, but still long enough. 5 1/2 hours long enough for you guys and girls? The only channel that does these long mixes is our friends at History of Happy Hardcore. If there's one channel that embraces the UK Hardcore sound, it has to be them. Not only do they focus on UK Hardcore, but everything happy. To me it's the perfect channel to visit if you need a fix, your daily dosage of UK Hardcore or Happy Hardcore. They know exactly what the fans need to hear, and with one of their latest mixes they've proven again to be the best place on Soundcloud for your UK Hardcore addiction to be cured. This set, as mentioned before, is 5 1/2 hours long. And that's a lot to take in. That's a lot of UK Hardcore. The finest of the finest tracks are to be found in this set, and played as long as possible. No songs are played only for a few seconds, but to the full extend, when possible. It's not a megamix, but it is truly a MEGA mix. They do broadcast these on Twitch, so if you have a few hours spare, why not jump on Twitch, give them a follow, and join the madness? Now the daunting task... typing the whole tracklist. It's a freaking long one. Not ready for it, but I'm only doing it because this mix is dope as fuck. And absolutely worth sharing! So I'm going to take a short break, and come back once everything is back to normal. What a long tracklist. I was not ready for this, but should have expected it to be long, as the set is 5 and a half hours long! Not only the length is impressive, it's also impressive how the people behind HOHH did manage to stay focussed for that long! Back now. Fingers have regained consciousness. And the hours have flown by. So many great records, it's unbelievable! Good selection by HOHH. They have created a very wicked mix, with a lot of excellent vocally songs. You can fight me in the comments, but to me the best UK Hardcore songs have vocalists, preferably female vocalists. They just uplift a track like no other can. And for those that appreciate the female vocalists, this mix is packed with those songs you want to hear. A lot of love and appreciation for making this mix. The happy vibes come at you, and hold you close. It's a pleasant feeling. The length might be of an issue, to keep you at one place for 5 1/2 hours might be a stretch, but it is manageable. You can do it, just sit down, press play, and don't move! Toilet break? Nope. Food? No. Should have thought of it before you started. HOHH, you've done it again. Brilliant mix. Loved it from the first to the last second. I'm now literally in Hardcore Heaven! Normally I would pick a favourite, but that's a task I'm not even going to attempt. It's too fricking difficult, and there are simply too many wicked anthems. A few stinkers, but the rest are all solid! Can't be done, it simply can't be done! • RAM - Strictly Classics 3 hours (2015)

Sunday has arrived. Time to unwind and think back on what we've done this week. And if you aren't within the UK, you might be looking forward to tomorrow, back to work. For us, it's a bank holiday, so we get an extra day off (due to the Queen's funeral). So it could be a weird weekend, but what could improve it? A nice mix. But not just any nice mix, a proper mix by DJ RAM. A classic Trance mix, 3 hour long, and it contains the biggest Trance tracks ever released! Leave that up to DJ RAM to provide us with the biggest and baddest tunes out there! Trance is timeless. And it's a safe genre of music. There are plenty of genres out there that might get an angry response, but not Trance music. It's always the one style people appreciate, and it can be played out loud, or softly in the background, and no one would bat an eyelid. That's the power of Trance music. It's also the one style that is dominantly present on 90s radio stations. Especially Dutch radio stations playing 90s songs. The mix you are about to listen to, was made back in 2015 by DJ RAM. It has reached nearly 39k plays in the last 7 years, and the responses are all amazing, and I have to underline each positive comment. It does contain amazing records, some overkilled on the radio, and some a bit more obscure, but still classics. These tunes dominated the world when they were released, and still have the same kind of impact on the people listening to them. Be prepared for 3 hours of awesome Trance anthems, taking you back to the glory days. DJ RAM, what do you have in store for us? Mr. Sam & T99 - Anasthasia Armani & Ghost - Airport Cygnus X - Superstring (Rank 1 Remix) Thrillseekers - Synaesthesia Carlos - The Silmarillia Trancestors feat DJ Hoxider - Lord Of Tranz Airscape - L'Esperanza Control Freaks - Subspace Interference Fire & Ice - Souvenir De Chine Solarstone - Seven Cities Push - Strange World (2000 Remake) Rising Star - Touch Me (Armin van Buuren Remix) Vimama - We Came BBE - Seven Days And One Week Delerium - Silence Ernesto vs Bastian - Dark Side Of The Moon Rank 1 - Airwave Oceanlab vs Gareth Emery - On A Metropolis Day (Myon & Shane 54 Mashup Reconstruction) Emmanuel Top - Acid Phase (Kai Tracid Remix) Rising Star feat Justine Suissa - Burned With Desire (Rising Star Vocal Mix) Groovezone - I Love The Music Nina & Mox Epoque - I Feel My... DJ RAM has given us a wicked mix, and the classics keep flying at you through your speakers. Non stop pure Trance anthems from a era long gone. I was a fan during the mid 90s of Trance music, but it all came into my life fully towards the end of the 90s, when I lost my interest in Hardcore Techno music. Trance filled a gap, and I bought every single album available. I was a Trance fan, and I prefer the late 90s/early 2000s above any other. It was so new and uplifting, and it was at this stage when I fell in love with it so much, I went out to special events such as Sensation, etc. Just to get my Trance fix. Thanks to DJ RAM's mix, I feel like a teenager/early 20s kid again. It contains the big hits, and I do mean the big hits. Songs played all over the world, and loved by millions of people. And they are still holding their value, 20-30 years since their release dates. Hit after hit. It's three hours of pure pleasure. I shouldn't be talking/typing anything anymore, but only ask you to press play and thank DJ RAM for this wicked mix. I really enjoyed it, and so should you. Remember, this is music made by the angels, hence why it's so heavenly. Best record? Well, it might be a very commercial track, but Carlos' 'The Silmarillia'. What a tune! • Hellsound Full Collection (1995 - 1997)

It is Wednesday, the worst day of the week. You can see the weekend just ahead of you, but it's unreachable. So you need a kick to get you through these few days. Have I got something special for you? A series not forgotten about, but sadly did not get the deserved platform. Hellsound, anyone? This was released between 1995 and 1997 and then just died. It probably had something to do with the fact that Hardcore wasn't as interesting as it was a few years ago, and they saw the writing on the wall. So they pulled the plug. And to this day I am sad to not have seen more of these being released. They had potential, and were something completely different (in my opinion, and in my music collection). Why ID&T, why did you pull the plug? I had them all. Yes, I had them all. But not all in the 90s. I purchased the last one back in 2021, so I could actually say I had a full collection. And they still bring me a lot of pleasure. And the reason why? Well, you had your standard compilations, but this one seemed to focussed on a bit of everything. Everything, but a bit more rougher and tougher. You can't have happy shit on CDs with covers like this one, right? And it's called Hellsound. You had your Hardcore tunes, Gabber tunes, but also Terror, Speedcore, Acid, and more. Slightly different, slightly harder. And it's like this compilation was made for those who liked their music even faster and harder. The collection only ran for 2 years, but it also spawned a new label, called Hellsound Records. But I'm not talking about that label, but only these CDs. These 7 glorious CDs with brilliant names such as 'Gabberland', 'The Paradise Of Pain', 'Hard As Hell', 'Dead By Dawn', 'Blessed Are The Sick', and 'As Millions Suffer...' . Yes, not your standard stuff. And even thought the collection Thunderdome was banned by my parents, they would have banned this one as well. But don't assume that the BPMs are all ridiculous and the music is just weird and obnoxious. This collection stood out from the rest by having a mixture of everything, literally everything. Maybe it was a collection of CDs with rejected songs? Songs that weren't commercially viable, but were still given a platform. Hellsound wasn't ID&T's biggest CD collection. And some of the tunes were literally garbage, even to this day they haven't aged well. But it gave people the chance to deviate to something different, if they were bored with the standard Thunderdome-esque collections. So, if you've never heard or seen these CDs, you are in for a treat. Here are the tracklist for all 7 CDs (yes all tracklists)! Enjoy. It already took me a while to type each tracklist. But typing this brings back a lot of memories. Hours of looking at each CD, booklet, and just being amazed by the music. If you've got the full collection, you can hear throughout how Hardcore in general progresses. It moves at a steady pace, and the quality changes too. The timespan of these CDs is only 2 years, but within those 2 years the music grew more and more, and producing wise it also improved. Yes, there were some stinkers, but generically speaking, the music improved. Opinion warning: the worst of these CDs (to me) are the first and the last CD. 2 to 6 were the best. This is a good representation of Hardcore music from around 1995 to 1997. Yes, you can go for the standard compilations, but if you want to hear what Hardcore had to offer back then, I think Hellsound is the right compilation for you. Especially if you like your Hardcore a bit faster, rougher, and generically tougher. Each CD had one track I listened to over and over again. But which ones? Well, these: Hellsound : DJ XD - Uncle X (Part 1) Hellsound 2 : E-De-Cologne - Kill 4 Jesus Hellsound 3 : The Prophet - Why Not? Hellsound 4 : Sounds Of Doom - Regret!! Hellsound 5 : Rotterdam Terror Corps - No Happy Shit Hellsound 6 : Count Negative & MC Drokz - Lie & Die Hellsound 7 : Brain Acardy - Ya Gangsta Music You might have a different opinion, but there also a shit ton of crap songs on each CD, most notably the 'Fuck Macarena' song . What a load of rubbish that song is. Not even worth mentioning as a Hardcore song. Embarrassing, to say the least. But however you feel about the good and the bad songs, this compilation was important, and still is to this day. It has stood the test of time, and it gave us a wide variety of what Hardcore had to offer. Hardcore wasn't this standard style, and it had so much to give. You should definitely check this compilation out, if you haven't already. An important collection of records from the glorious years of 90s Hardcore. A glimpse into the past, and a good representation of what producers could do back in the days. Loving this compilation. Sad that it stopped after the seventh instalment, but it had to be this way. But thankfully for you all, there are a shit ton of videos on YouTube for you all to enjoy, so here they are! • Earthquake Full Collection (1994 - 1997)

Another epic collection from the 90s, released by Arcade and ID&T. A series than ran between 1994 and 1997, to quickly die a death not deserved. To me a very pleasant sounding series, and a fresh take on Hardcore. Yes, you had your bog standard Thunderdome collection, but sometimes you wanted to hear other CDs, you would get fed up by constantly just listening to Thunderdome. Earthquake was one of those collection which I adored, and many hours have been spent in my bedroom, just listening to these albums. And it was different to such an extend, you could see this as a standalone series that could be as good as the Thunderdome series. But it never reached that kind of status, more like a cult status... which is a shame. I can't remember when it was, but I do remember which volume it was I purchased first. And it was the third one in this 7 album long CD collection. I bought it, and absorbed every second of it. I can still dream the whole album, and whenever I put it on, I can't stop listening to it. It had the Hardcore tunes I really wanted to hear, and weren't maybe that successful, but still deserved a stage. It was called 'The Ultimate Hardcore collection', but was that really the case? Is it really the ultimate collection, as they announced it to be? As many of us youngsters did back in the 90s, you buy one, you start collecting the whole series. Would look stupid on your shelves to have just one, right? So I started purchasing them all, and this collection was for me completed back in 1998, when I purchased the latest one. Not knowing it would literally be the last one ever. Thunderdome went on, but other series were just killed off, probably knowing it wouldn't succeed, and Hardcore had reached the end of it's life expectancy. Little did they know, Hardcore would be alive and kicking in 2022... but hey ho, we were oblivious to anything back in 1997/1998. At one stage it surpassed the Thunderdome legacy, and when number 7 was released, I knew that this specific CD would be one of my most favourite ones ever. And still to this day the seventh one remains an all time classic, with shit tons of underrated anthems on it. It was at the height of the Hardcore back in the 90s, and it would only go downhill from that moment onward. Maybe ID&T did kill it on purpose? Or maybe for financial reasons? Who knows. But the tracks on each album were gorgeous. Not every album was a success or was seen as a great album at all, but it is part of the Hardcore history, and I think it is justifiable to discuss the greatness of this highly underrated collection. You want to see the tracklist? Look at the slideshow below: If you click on the little arrows to the left and right, you will scroll through each tracklist. And another reason why I hate growing up: when I look at each of them, I do get flashbacks to the 90s, and the way the standards were for ID&T and Arcade. It's a distinctive look each had. So recognisable and oh so 90s. Now here comes the daunting task to name my favourites from each CD. Here we go: Earthquake I Disc One : Gizmo - Ghost (1994 Remix) Earthquake I Disc Two : Jean Sibart & Joel - Right Is Wrong Earthquake II Disc One : Bertocucci Feranzano - Sax B4 Dinner Earthquake II Disc Two : DJ Sim - Horras Earthquake III Disc One : DJ Weirdo & DJ Sim - Kick This Muthaf#@ka (DJ Jordens Mix) Earthquake III Disc Two : DJ E-Rick & Tactic - Hands In D'air Earthquake IV Disc One : 3 Steps Ahead - Money In My Pocket Earthquake IV Disc Two : Buzz Fuzz & DJ Delirium - Immortality Earthquake V Disc One : Human Resource - Dominator (K.N.O.R. Hardcore Version) Earthquake V Disc Two : Hixxy & Lady Tixxy - One Spliff Earthquake VI Disc One : Jee Beat Squad - Get New Earthquake VI Disc Two : The Inquisition - The Inquisition (DJ Promo Mix) Earthquake VII Disc One : Omar Santana - Mind Ripper Earthquake VII Disc Two : Bigguz Dickuzz - Howareyeaaah!? If you had this collection, you might have got a different view on which track dominated each disc. This is obviously a personal list, and yours might be slightly different. Interesting to hear which tracks were your favourite, post them in a comment below! It was a solid collection, but it also had a few stinkers on each disc. It was mainly the early CDs that had a few stinkers on it, but yeah, thankfully a CD player had a skip button, so we could skip them. But they were bad songs. Really bad. Not really worth being on ANY compilation. You might be thinking that they might have turned into guilty pleasure records, but they aren't. More like landfill to me. Earthquake 7 is still the finest of them all. Closely followed by number 3. Worst one? The first one. They didn't know what to do, so they just created something out of scratch with no clear directions, no plans, no nothing. And it was crap. Number 5 is also not a great one. A worthy collection to have. Sadly nothing can reach Thunderdome status, but this closely followed Thunderdome's footsteps. It was at some stages rougher, tougher, and a bit more exclusive, in terms of tracks. Underneath this there are YouTube videos of each album. If you've never encountered this collection, it's a must listen to collection. A deep dive into Hardcore during its peak. 1994 to 1997. Wicked years. Wicked collection. Sadly died too soon, or at the right time? 1998 was still a good year for Hardcore music.... Did you have any of these CDs? Or all of them? Or none? • Painbringer - Masters Of Hardcore 2022

From Acid Techno to Hardcore/Gabber. It's an interesting day. The beats, bass, and melodies are coming at me through my speakers. And I've had this set for a while stored as favourite on Soundcloud, to make sure I would check it out and maybe even review it. But truth be told: I have listened to this at least 20 times now, and every time I would say to myself 'I should review this'. But it never happened. Dopey twat. I'm always very forgetful, but today I had to jump on it and share it with you all. If you haven't listened to this already, of course. If you have, you might already know what this mix is about, and how good it is. But you might still want to check it out again, and enjoy it? This isn't my first introduction into Painbringer's world, and it certainly won't be the last. He's been active for quite some time now, and has given the Hardcore scene a new and fresh way of bringing back the early sound. Of course his biggest hit to date (Words Of '95) is showcasing what Painbringer is capable of doing, but he isn't a one-hit wonder. He is here to stay, and for this radio station you might have heard of, Masters Of Hardcore Radio, he was tasked to make an excellent mix. Now that mix is the one I'm talking about today. It is a big thing if MoH radio asks you to come on and give the fans something awesome to listen to, and Painbringer certain brought his A game. He, without a shadow of a doubt, had to play his own stuff too, but don't get me wrong, this set ain't just Painbringer stuff and that's it. It would have been ace, but he also picked a shit ton of excellent tracks by world known producers. You will love it as much as I have. What has he got in store, this Painbringer? Well, these records to be precise: Painbringer - Still Raving Painbringer - Words Of '95 (Remastered) DJ Rob & Tim B - The Second Coming Paradox - The Guillotine Uranium - Rippin' Off Wax Reyes - Fuck You Myrmidon - Condemned (Prisoner 2675) Painbringer - Ready To Play! Omar Santana - World Domination Human Resource - Back To The Asylum Painbringer - Never Say Die Omar Santana - Get Ready, Mothafuckas! Da Grimreaper - Muthafuckaz Lockjaw - The Plastic Men! Predator - Turbulence Painbringer - Hyped Up (Lenz Remix) Painbringer - Everything or Nothing MD&A - Candyman Painbringer - Carlito's Way Painbringer - Ghosttown Arvid - System Reboot Painbringer - Sidious Painbringer - Words Of '95 (Gabber Remix) 3 Steps Ahead - Drop It (The Ender Mix) Ferra & Greensequence - Hypnotize That's a lot of excellence in an hour long mix. But leave that to Painbringer, to bring the pain! Well, it's only pain if you aren't into Hardcore music. To me it sounds like the music played in Heaven. The Gods certainly love Hardcore music, right? I am not saying Painbringer is a God, but if there is Heaven, they must play Hardcore/Gabber music, and Painbringer's songs will certainly be played. This set has only been online a few months, but it has already reached nearly 7k plays. It certainly deserves more, but for a new mix that's great. It shows people's interest in Painbringer, and this mix certainly is interesting. Yes, a shit ton of his own productions, but let's not underestimate his capabilities as a producer. He could make a mix with ONLY his own stuff, and I would still be happy as a bunny. I love Hardcore/Gabber, and I like a melody. 'Words Of '95' is a great dancefloor smasher, but to me not Painbringer's finest record. 'Everything or Nothing' is that record which has got everything in it for me. Melody, a bit of Batman, and fucking beats. A bit of everything, and a bit of Painbringer. His set contains wicked anthems, and this set deserves to reach ungodly heights. More plays please. I will try my best and bump up the plays. How, you might ask? Well, by listening to this over and over. Not doing that on purpose, but I will only do that because this mix is really tight! • Brooksie - Recorded Live At The Acid Leak - Boomtown - Aug 2022

It is Saturday, and I'm here, working from home. I shouldn't be working, but what else is there to do? Nothing much, so I fired up the laptop, and now I am working. But when I'm working, I hate working in silence, that's just so freaking boring. And I really dislike it. How people do that, is beyond me. Music is a structural part of humans, and needs to be heard every day. No matter what kind of music it is, you need to hear it. And today's set is one filled with music of a genre I don't hear that often, and it's made by someone who played at this year's Boomtown. Techno I know. But Acid Techno? That's a style you don't see very often, if truth be told. And it's a style I don't know much about. But it's certainly one interesting style. And most people would prefer listening to this at a big ass event, like Boomtown. Another event on my list I want to visit before I die. It has got the best reviews, and always the dopest line ups in the world. Don't know why I don't go to this event, it's beyond me. Brooksie played at this year's Boomtown, at the Acid Leak. Again, I am familiar with this event and how awesome it seems to be, but not familiar with more. Or the DJ. Whoever Brooksie is, what I can tell, is that he made an awesome mix at the Acid Leak stage. As mentioned, this set is filled with Acid Techno/Techno tunes, and it's an hour of pure power coming through your speakers. If you are into Acid Techno, you will loose your mind. If you aren't, you might look at this and think 'yeah, that's a tracklist'. But it isn't just about who made it and what the title is, the focus is more on what the tracks do to the listener. Only one way to find out: The Big Guys - 2 Turntables, A Mic And Some Vinyl (Krismix & Koss Remix) Benji303 - Power To The People (W R 23 Remix) Darc Marc - Dirty Rocking Bass Vlado - One, Two, Three Benji303 & Tekno Token - Acid Training Chris Liberator & Sam DFL - Agitate (Original Mix) Secret Hero & Phil Kershaw - Keep It Simple (Original Mix) Acid Ted & Cyber Steve - Sound System Banger (OB1 Remix) Dynamo City & Rats On Acid - Virus Secret Hero & Rats On Acid - Smokey's Revenge Winnebago Warriors - Trailer Trash (Chris Liberator & Geezer's Trash The Trailer & Weight In It Mix) Temperature Drop - Mosquitos Tweeter (2012 Remix) You might be looking at this, thinking 'fuck, this is the shit!'. Well, you are in luck for finding this mix. I don't know how I found this mix, but I have, and now it won't let me go. I've been listening to this over and over, and it's really giving me energy. I feel hyped up, and nothing else can be seen as an contributing factor, only this set. A very solid set. And during the 62 minutes, DJ Brooksie takes you on a journey. A very pleasant journey, and you will certainly not stop moving. He's picked 12 wicked tracks, and if I were there at Boomtown, I would have danced my ass off. This reminds me of the early Hard House anthems, but obviously with a slight twist. Acid has been thrown in the mix, and made it slightly better. I really enjoyed this set. In it there's one song that might not be the best one in this set, but it's certainly one that remains in your head for the rest of the day. Guess which one I'm referring to? Correct, it's 'Dirty Rocking Bass' by Darc Marc. God, those lyrics are so repetitive, but oh so catchy. A cool set, and it's also a free download. Hop onboard the Brooksie train, and see where the journey takes us! • CASKETKRUSHER [Total Destruction Records] 🇳🇱 (2022)

It is Wednesday. Normally a day that takes forever, as it's in the middle of the week, and we are as far away from last Monday as we are to upcoming Friday. And that makes this day drag on a bit too long. Not when you have good music blasting through your speakers, and today I've got a mix so fresh, it is still moist and damp on the outside, and nice and warm on the inside. It's a mix made by CasketKrusher, the legendary DJ and producer who is known for his amazing work in keeping the early Hardcore sound alive. To me one of the most underrated artist in the scene, and someone who should receive more credit for his work. We need a bit of fresh Hardcore. And no one does that better than CasketKrusher. A name I've been following for quite some time now, and whenever I do find a mix, I always share it. Most of his mixes are ace, and he certainly deserves a bigger stage. He's been on my radar for quite some time now, and whenever I do hear a mix, it always enhances my enthusiasm for new 'old' Hardcore/Gabber. I am a huge fan of CasketKrusher and his label, Total Destruction Records. As mentioned before, he is one hard working dude who keeps on pushing the early Hardcore sound into our wonderful world. The early sound, in a fresh new way. New tracks with that distinctive 90s sound. Not always sure if it's him who's behind the releases (as he's got quite a few aliases) or others releasing songs on Total Destruction Records. But what I do know is that the music speaks to me. It appeals to me a lot. For this radio station called Solid Sound FM he made a mix. And it's one you need to check. Curious to find out which songs are in the mix? No worries, TCD has got your back: Interior - Rock This! DJ Ad - To Da Bass DJ Ad - Sick Rave! Terror Eimbert - Lemmie Hear Ya' Say Ho! Casketkrusher - Here It Comes! (Original Mix) w/ Casketkrusher - Break This Motherfucker! (Gabber House Mix) The Judges feat DJ Promo - I Am The Law (Casketkrusher & The Soul Seeker ''Bootleg'' Remix) Casketkrusher - House Time! DJ Ad - Psychopath DJ Ad - Diss You DJ Ad feat Casketkrusher - The Rave Blaster Casketkrusher - Work That Pussy (96' Mix) Casketkrusher - Natural Born Killer (Unreleased) Casketkrusher - Techno Domination (Remix) DJ Ad versus HardcoreZilla feat Grime Lab - Bring That Oldskool Beat (Original Mix) Casketkrusher - Brotha & Sistah (Original Mix) Casketkrusher - Nasty Grooves Casketkrusher feat DJ Ad - Check This! (Motherfucker Mix) Interior - My Hardcore Force (Casketkrusher Remix) Luffy & Gilda - Nobody Does It Better (Casketkrusher Remix) Casketkrusher feat Adrian Overdrive - Dope Shit Casketkrusher versus Disembowelment - Green Hell The Executioner - Mutoid Massacre Such a sick looking tracklist. Not every track is known by yours truly, but after hearing this mix at least 3 times in a row, I can honestly say that these tracks blew me away. Those which I already knew of already did make me rave the hardest, but the few 'new' ones certainly made me question my interest in this label: do I spend enough time investigating what this label has to offer? Clearly not enough. A very tasty mix. If you've never heard of Casketkrusher or his label and you love a bit of the early/oldskool sound, you will be in for a treat. You've missed out on so much, but it's never too late to catch up on everything you've missed. And this is one of those labels you MUST investigate some time in, to discover what they have been doing. A splendid mix. And it was difficult to figure out my favourite track of this mix. There were three awesome tracks: 'Rock This', 'Psychopath', and 'House Time!' . You pick your favourite. Get this down you right now, and why not download this mix too? Or, if you are feeling generous, why not support Casketkrusher and his label? • Strange Times [Mixed By M@rt!n-J] (2022)

These are indeed strange times. Three years ago we'd not heard of COVID, we still had a Queen, and gas/electric were still considered 'cheap' and affordable. Those times are long gone now, and we live in a world where society is slowly changing. Many things might change, but thankfully Freeform doesn't change at all. It still remains underrated but freaking cool, and I like that. A stable force in the music scene. Insert, DJ Rikki Arkitech. You might have heard of him, if you are into Freeform music. He made an album, and an appreciation mix has now been uploaded by M@rt!n-J, our regular contributor of the site. An album many were looking forward to, including Rikki Arkitech. Unfortunately we don't get that many Freeform albums. Can't even remember which album was the last album released, focussed on Freeform only? Just to let you know, I do not have the album yet. I've been seeing a lot of positive posts about it, but I keep on pushing it on my 'to-do' list, but my actions aren't as good as they should be, and I tend to forget things. So I'm judging this album on M@rt!n-J's mix... Last time I met Rikki was back in Bournemouth. Was it Bournemouth, where the Freeform rave was? A fucking long time ago, truth be told. But he's been a favourite since the first day I discovered Freeform, which was mid 2000s. A very talented producer, and this latest album highlights that he's not just a one-hit-wonder, or bound to just one genre. This man is as versatile as anything! The tracks aren't just Freeform-focussed, but also Hardcore Techno focussed. There's only one way to find out if this album suits you. Well, there are two ways. One: buy the album. Or two: listen to this mix. You pick your number... Rikki Arkitech - The Start Rikki Arkitech - Ghost Rikki Arkitech - Shape Of The Future Rikki Arkitech feat Substanced - Scream Out Loud Rikki Arkitech - A God Rikki Arkitech - End Of Play Rikki Arkitech - Prescription Rikki Arkitech - Beautiful Thing Rikki Arkitech - Insomniac Rikki Arkitech - Doctrine Rikki Arkitech feat Cyrax - Tyrant Rikki Arkitech feat Kounta Kulture - CRISPR (Hard Mix) Rikki Arkitech - Alone Rikki Arkitech - The Physicist Rikki Arkitech - Breathless Rikki Arkitech - Sincerity Rikki Arkitech feat Rhona - Experiment IV Rikki Arkitech - End Of The World This is an insane looking list. If you love a bit of Rikki Arkitech, you will certainly enjoy this. I am certainly enjoying it. But not just by looking at this tracklist, but at the same time listening to this mix. It's giving me enough of a boost to get me through today. And I certainly need that, as I'm not WFH... M@rt!n-J's set is as good as you expect. It's exactly what you wanted to hear. Freeform Friday? Fuck that nonsense, Freeform every Freaking day! And let today be the Rikki Arkitech day. As mentioned before, I've not got the album yet, but I will certainly go and hunt it down. The 18 tracks in this mix have certainly got me hyped up. Especially 'Beautiful Thing'. Big big track, that's for damn sure. A bit of Freeform, a bit of Gabber, a bit of everything. Rikki has made a wicked album, one you definitely need to hear before you die. A diverse yet intriguing album. One of the finest artist albums to come out of the Freeform scene. • Hairoshi - Discorium Session Mix 3 (2022)

Not many people will have the same set up at home as we do. We are currently working from home, and we are both sitting next to each other, desk to desk. And as much as we love each other, I would drive her mad if I were to listen to my harder styles. She would slap me in the face with her keyboard, like James McAvoy from that film. So our Monday started with someone slow and mellow, compared to the standard music I listen to. And it's been some kind of a blessing, if truth be told. I found this mix on Soundcloud by accident, and saved it. It looked interesting, but I've not heard of the artist before or any of the artists in this mix, but I thought I'd save it, for special occasions. Today was such a day. Me and the wife needed something to get us going, and this mix was going to be the right one for the right moment. Again, happy wife is happy life. And she hasn't got the urge (yet) to lift her keyboard up and smack me in the face, so that's a bonus! I wasn't ready for this mix. I wasn't. I was OK in the morning before I started listening to this. And then this mix happened. My God, I feel so lighter now, so much mellow and relaxed. This mix has got everything for me right now, and I feel in a state of euphoria. It isn't that mellow that you will fall asleep, but you will certainly lower your heartbeat dramatically, and the world around you might not even be relevant... you seem to forget everything and everyone. Mellow and spaced out. It's like being on a trip. Very cool mix! But now for the tracks used in this mix... Tommy Glasses - Memories (Extended Mix) Jafunk - Dazed Ben Macklin & Le Flex - Glow (Keep A Secret) PRETTY YOUNG feat Juliander - Summer Nights Satin Jackets feat Panama - Move On OHYEAH & Dynamique - Addicted (FINAL DJS Remix) DAUL feat Charli Taft - In Touch Tep No - Higher Than This (La Felix Remix) Le Flex - Feels Like Ooh (Original Mix) Gold Fields feat KLP - Make Me Feel Dani feat The Undercover Dream Lovers - Zimmer Slowz feat Mystery Skulls - In This Moment Forever Poolside - Harvest Moon (Roosevelt Remix) Casino Gold - Turn The Lights Out Tame Impala - Is It True (FINAL DJS Remix) SG Lewis - Something About Your Love Tobtok - Savanna (Cesare Remix) David Bay - Vertigo (Ocean Remix) Selah Sue - Pills (Roosevelt Remix) Calvin Harries & Daft Punk - Something About Potion (It's The Kue Bootleg) Austin Millz & Aluna - Gold Bondax feat SHELLS - Faded (Never Dull Extended Remix) Cloak Dagger - Fall With You Elektromekanik & Happy Gutenburg - Cote D'Azur (Extended Mix) Caius feat Neigh - Tomorrow (Poolside Edit) Domestic Technology - Riviera Maya Darius feat Darianna Everett - CHERIE Maratta - Real I was going to say that this is a nice looking tracklist, but only 2 names are known to me. I'm a noob in this scene. But that doesn't mean I cannot appreciate the music. And that, appreciating the music, I've certainly done today. This mix has been a blessing for both me and the wife. We've been working together and not being disturbed by it at all. We've been sitting here doing our work, and actually both liked it a lot. Not familiar with the name behind this mix (Hairoshi), but he/she made a very good mix. Got nothing negative to mention. It's been an amazing journey, and I feel enlightened now. I'm sitting here, chilled as f***, enjoying the music again. This mix has been on repeat since 8am, and life is just great. Smiling from ear to ear. Thanks Hairoshi for this gorgeous mix. • Back In Time 2 (Hardclassics Mix) (2022)

And now for something else. It is Sunday, and the UK is still mourning the loss of her Majesty, the Queen. As shit as the world is right now, we need to keep calm and carry on. And it's also the 11th of September, which marks the remembrance of the terror attacks many years ago in the United States. It's not been a good few days, but hopefully I might give you a sparkle of 'happiness'. Something that might cheer you up. If it doesn't, I do apologise. If it does, that's good to hear. The only way of me cheering people up is by sharing music, and today's mix is a special one. A mix focussed on the Hard Dance sound. Especially the Hard Trance sound from the early days. I came across this mix by accident, don't really know what triggered the algorithm to show me this. But I'm happy it happened. Maybe it's because I follow Scot Project, who's been one of my favourite producers of all time? And because of a few tracks being used in this mix, it highlighted this mix to me? Who knows? I know nothing about the DJ in question (Rob Be). So let's focus on the tracks he used for this mix in particular. It's got tracks by the biggest names in the scene back in the day. Some I really adore to this day, and some I've completely forgotten about. It is a mix of literally everything, but they are all solid dancefloor smashers. This kind of music dominated my youth, when Hardcore was considered dead. I had to replace it with something as cool as Hardcore, and it became this kind of music. Glad I discovered it and listened to it. I would have been lost without it. But now the tracks. Which ones did Rob Be choose? Well, these: Brooklyn Bounce - Club Bizarre (Tomcraft Remix) Reeloop - Fucking Society Renegade Master - Renegade Master (Planet Trax Mix) K-Traxx - Freezing Shithead - Techno Perversion DJ Arne LII - R.I.P. Hennes & Cold - The Second Trip (DJ Scot Project Mix) Mass Effect - Alphascan (Arome Remix) DJ Scot Project - F (Future Is Now!) Pep 'N Up - Time & Space (Warp Brothers Remix) Embargo! - Hysterie Das Licht - Trilogie (Club Mix) Joy Kitikonti - Joyenergizer (Physical Mix) Jacob & Mendez - Berksville DJ Tom-X - Cocaine (Bush Remix) Yoda Inc. - Definitely (DJ Scot Project Remix) Mo-Dem - Contact (Warp Brothers Remix) Pacific Link - Escape Derb - Derb (Arome Remix) Sensation - Sensation The Anthem 2002 Black Edition (Dana Remix) It's a good looking tracklist, with some heavy hitters. This mix certainly takes me back to the good old days. I really love these tracks, and some I've completely forgotten about, forgot that they even existed! It wasn't as hard and rough as Hardcore, but it was close enough to me. It was still dark though, and that's all I needed. The styles were evolving into this glorious thing I could appreciate, therefore my time spent during the early 2000s was focussing on the harder styles other than Hardcore. Rob Be's mix is an interesting one. It's got the classics in here, and carefully mixed together. The outcome is a genuine mix, one I really liked to hear today. It gave me a confidence boost, and now I'm on the hunt for the older CDs I've completely forgotten about. I need to hear more of this, and I need to hear it right NOW. While searching, I might give the first instalment of this mix series a go, ascend me to the highest level of euphoria. A very cool mix. I freaking love it! • TITANIUM'S MILLENNIUM MIXTAPE #13 ON TOXIC SICKNESS / AUGUST / 2022

The weekend has started, and now a new world has emerged (with King Charles III), here in the UK. The world has awoken to some devastating news a few days ago, and things are slowly changing. For me, as saddened as I am, nothing is changing. We just keep calm and carry on. But the 'calm' bit does not really apply to me, as I don't do calm. Especially when it comes to my music. I like my music hard, and vicious too. No fucking about, just raw music blasting through my speakers. On Facebook I was told by DJ Titanium (not related to Sia) that he had a new mix, one that was broadcasted on Toxic Sickness Radio. The thirteenth Millennium Hardcore focussed mix. I've missed the other 12, but at least I'm introduced to it, right? The Millennium period is now way behind us, but it remains as glorious as ever, and I still appreciate it a lot. Is it the best period in our 30+ years historic Hardcore period? Maybe... but that's just personal preference. The sound just keeps on being as important to the Hardcore scene as anything else. The present day Hardcore is cool, but to me it was more ground breaking during the 2000s. 90s Hardcore still rules EVERY fucking thing, but the 2000s were innovative enough to leave a huge dent, and it changed the scene forever and ever. So, to wake up to this mix on this glorious Saturday morning, that's a nice way to wake up to. But it all depends on Titanium's mix and the tracks he has used. Are they any good? Only one way to find out... Ophidian - Butterfly VIP Art Of Fighters - Redemption Nosferatu & Ophidian - Psychiatric Ass G-Shock - Demons (Promo Remix) Endymion - Stay Focussed (The Viper Remix) Art Of Fighters vs Nico & Tetta - Revenge Kasparov - Part Of The Project Masters Of Ceremony - UNDR_CTRL09 Ophidian - The Middle Children (The Viper Remix) Evil Activities & The Viper - Raw To The Floor Ophidian & Ruffneck - So Many Sacrifices Outblast - Masters Symphony (R3F!K5 By Evil Activities) Meccano Twins & DJ Mad Dog - Meccane Beatstream & Radiate - The Rhythm Angerfist - Take U Back (DJ Mad Dog Remix) The Viper & Neophyte - First Aid Diss Reaction - Jiieehaaaa (Angerfist Refix) DJ Neophyte & Tha Playah - Great Success! This is a nice looking list. Good selection by Titanium, got to give him credit for that. But leave that up to the Dutch. We always make sure things are done properly... He starts off strong with one of the finest producers in the scene, Ophidian. And ends with one of the funniest but toughest tracks I've come across in a while. Borat in a Hardcore track? It was Borat, correct? Or the other character by that British actor who also plays Ali G? It is just so freaking funny. But in between you are getting the finest Millennium anthems. the ones that were played at all events, even in 2022. But they dominated the 2000s. A very good selection. Strong and powerful. I liked it a lot! There's a few small mixing errors though. It could have been a bit smoother and brushed nicer, if that makes sense? Still nothing major, but it would have been perfect. All in all a great way to start your weekend with, and DJ Titanium makes sure you don't forget the most glorious decade in Hardcore history. I'll start looking out for the other mixes he's made for Toxic Sickness radio, but for now this mix goes on repeat again! Best track? 'Great Success'. I like to laugh and rave at the same time! And this track has it all! • Altern-8 - Minirig Mixtape (2022)

Tuesday, and I'm in the office. During working hours I need something to get me through the day, and a few days ago I found a set by Altern-8, a.k.a. Mark Archer. Well, he used to be one half of Altern-8, and we all know what happened. He carries on the legacy of the name, and the world famous masks. They were trend setter way before we HAD to wear masks. I do wonder if people actually walked around the streets during COVID-19 with vicks in their masks, like they used to do? Or was that a typical 90s thing? We all love Altern-8 and what they've done for the Hardcore/Rave scene. Pioneers, that's what they were. And even in 2022 the name Altern-8 remains active and alive. Previous mixes were focussed on the rave side of life, but today's mix is all about Breakbeat. Breakbeat Hardcore. Everything Breakbeat related. And that's glorious. I wasn't ready for this mix, but after listening to this mix for roughly 10 seconds I knew I had something special coming at me through my bassbins. As much as Mark knows about Altern-8, it's certainly not the only thing he knows. He's a connoisseur from the first hour, and has been in the game for donkeys years. He knows what to play, and how to get the crowd moving. And with this special mix he made for Minirig, he certainly will get you on your feet, dancing/raving the day away. Dancing like monkeys on acid, right? Fiesta Soundsystem - Stratified Hedchef - Immersion Neil Landstrumm - 80 Clicks Of The Hand Radio Slave - Variation V2 Rennie Pilgrem - Just What I Needed Robin Wylie - Acton East Swankout - On The Edge Theo Nasa - Sour Punch (Mani Festo Remix) Denham Audio - ESP Local Group - Rhythmic Trip Neida - Bull Swankout - Don Of All Dons The Palmer Initiative - Terra Borai - Need U Borai - I Bet U Can't This is a sick mix. Not in that sense, I mean it's dope. It's an hour of pure Breakbeat pleasure. In the first few seconds you are welcomed by the legend himself, and then the music starts. And uncle Archer takes you on a Breakbeat journey. A pleasant one that will leave you satisfied at the end, and craving for more. The journey is an hour long, and Mark takes you on this amazing journey. Most of these artists I've never heard of, but I'm not a world famous DJ/producer with a massive music collection. I'm just an admirer. If Mark wanted to, he could have played a set with the well known rave classics, but he went all in, and dug deep. And he found these hidden gems. The result is a pleasurable hour! The tunes are dark, edgy, and yet extremely cool and dope. Especially the last two records by Borai. Two amazing records to end your set with. Good choice, mr Archer. I cannot add anything more. I've said my bits. It's a splendid mix by the one and only Mark Archer a.k.a. Altern-8. Could you wish for anything more? Of course not. So sit back and enjoy, and let the music take over your consciousness. DJ: Mark Archer a.k.a. • Episode 041 - Millennium Set (Livestream) (2022)

Me and the wife have been away for a nice long weekend. A honeymoon some might call it. I call it a well deserved break. And during those 4 days we enjoyed life as it is. Caister-On-Sea might not be the most glamorous place to go to, but it was highly enjoyable. But now we are back at work, and life resumes. It's all back to normal, but for me it doesn't feel like it. And to top it all off, the weather last night was atrocious, couldn't sleep due to the thunder. I need something hard and rough to get me through today, and thankfully I've stored something under my favourites on Soundcloud, a set I can really enjoy today. A Millennium Hardcore set. Couldn't wish for anything else as we speak. DJ Switch made this mix. A livestream was the original source of the recording, and he uploaded this set onto Soundcloud, for those who'd missed it. And I'm one of them. Nearly 2 hours and 20 minutes, 44 records long set. And it's filled with the biggest anthems from the Millennium era, so what else could we wish for? It will certainly give me enough energy to go through today. So what's there to say about this mix? It's done live, and the DJ is Switch. That's all I know. Don't hesitate to put a comment underneath this mix, explaining who this DJ is. There's no shame in sharing your knowledge. But yeah, let's focus on the mix. It's packed to the brim with those big classic anthems we all know, love, and adore. A brilliant tracklist, it must be said! With seriously insane Millennium Hardcore anthems. This takes me right back to the early 2000s. I started listening to this mix at 6am this morning, and it's now roughly 2:30pm, and I'm still listening to this. It's been on a loop ever since I've woken up, and it's been an amazing ride. DJ Switch's mix is interesting. Nicely mixed (with a few small errors, but nothing dramatic), the 2+ hours will fly by. Especially when it's the music you grew up with. This is a trip down memory lane, and I've been blessed to have been alive when this dominated the charts. Hardcore was , and still truly is a world wide phenomena! It's hard to pick one favourite, as there are so many, so I've picked three: 'Embrace The Night', 'Welcome To Nexes', and 'Hurricane'. Those are my three tracks. What are yours? I really enjoyed this set, and hopefully you will do too! Put it on and turn up the volume to the max! • PLN-B's Early Sounds @ Smashed Potatoes Festival 2022

Roughly a month ago an event took place. An event with a rather peculiar name. 'Smashed Potatoes'. Now I've seen and heard a lot of names fly around, but smashed potatoes? Now that's indeed a weird name. And when I tried to search for it, the first few pages on Google were all about how to mash potatoes. But whatever the reasoning was behind the name (I'm guessing it's because of the man DJ Potato), the line-up for this festival looked great. Some very big names, and people's reviews are all great. Danger Hardcore Team, Darkraver, Pat B, Freestyle Maniacs, Lethal MG, Playboyz, Pavo, Lady Dana, Adaro, Bass-D, Pita, Rob & MC Joe, Promo, Tommyknocker, Vince, and many more. How great is that, to organise your first event and to have some of the biggest names perform there? They probably had to dig deep to find some cash to book these names, but the end result was there: positive feedback galore. But now we shall focus on one of the sets from that event. A set by PLN-B. I thought that this person was a singer from the UK, but I was wrong. This PLN-B is a Hardstyle act. They've been in the scene for a few years, and already played at some of the biggest events: Intents Festival, Pussy Lounge Festival, Decibel Outdoor, Harmony of Hardcore, And now they can add Smashed Potatoes to their list of achievements, right? So what can you expect from this hour and 10 minute long set? Well, the finest early tracks. How early? Well, only one way to find out, and that's by sitting down, press play, and letting the beats come through your speakers... Evolution Intro D-Trax - The Quest (PLN-B Edit) Cherrymoon Trax - Needle Destruction (PLN-B Edit) Armani & Ghost - Airport Sturgeon - Blow Your Mind The Beholder & Max Enforcer - Pulse Protraction Tracy - People Of Cactus (PLN-B Edit) Zero Vision - Right Here (PLN-B Edit) Toxic 101 - The Beat Is Strong (PLN-B Edit) Hypnotizer - Move Don't Stop Zhana - Sanctuary Of Love (PLN-B Edit) Stormtraxx - The Sun Goes Down DJ Youri vs Franky Kloeck - Stupid Motherfucker (Ruthless Edit) Binum - Looped Pavo & Zany - Shutterspeed DJ Zany - Hectic Hardonez - Better Dayz (Zatox Remix) DJ One Finger - One Finger Showtek - Seid Ihr Bereid Atlantic Wave - The Creation (PLN-B Edit) Zero Vision - Boekatsjaka Derb - Derb (PLN-B Kick Edit) Showtek - Save The Day (PLN-B Edit) TNT - First Match (PLN-B Edit) Major Bryce - One One One DJ Ghost & Q-Ic - Desire Go Higher (PLN-B Edit) Julian DJ & Davide Sonar - Go Go Go! Zenith DJ vs Avex - Scream (PLN-B Edit) Tuneboy - Demolition Zairon - I Am Techno (PLN-B Edit) Derb - Coole Sau (PLN-B Edit) Busted - Tricky Tricky Donkey Rollers - Motherfuck Hardheadz - Wreck Thiz Place Hardstyle Masterz - Age Of The Reverse Bass Speedwave - Mescal Automatic DJz - Mad Lay Number Three The KGB's - Punk Cake (PLN-B Edit) Raine - Buzzclick Marc et Claude - Loving You (DJ Isaac Remix) Digital Punk - Punk Soul Brother 2Pac feat Dr. Dre - California (DJ Isaac Remix) DJ Isaac - Over The Edge (PLN-B's Feelings Edit) Headliner - Drum Machine Brennan Heart - Revival X (PLN-B 'Pounding Senses' Edit) Brennan Heart - Rush The Rmx Headhunterz - Hate It Or Love It (PLN-B 'Home' Edit) Scope DJ - Lockdown Househeads (PLN-B Edit) DJ Isaac - Impressed (Technoboy Remix) Brennan Heart - Get Wasted (Blademasterz Remix) 50 tracks in 70 minutes. They won't let you sit still. You are to keep on moving constantly. And by looking at this tracklist, it shows that they did a marvellous job in pleasing the crowd. And there are indeed some big classics in here. Who doesn't know 'Airport', 'Buzzclick','One One One', 'Seid Ihr Bereid', 'Looped', etc? Obviously it's not just these tracks that got the crowd moving, but also a lot of other tracks that made them move their feet. Some originals, some remixes, and some of PLN-B's own edits/remixes. They kept the entertainment level up high. There are certainly a lot of entertaining songs in here. There's also one absolutely horrible track in here, and it's so bad, it should actually never be played at all. How can you do that to 2Pac and Dre? Don't ruin an all-time classic. Horrendous track. Besides that one track, there's plenty of opportunity for you all to loose yourselves. PLN-B's set is cool and enticing. A good duo to ask to perform at your event, that's for sure. The Hardstyle/Jumpstyle anthems fly through your speakers, and it keeps everyone on their toes. Dance your way through this Friday, and the weekend will be here soon. And let PLN-B take you on that journey. Oh, nearly forgot, best track? 'Buzzclick'. Always one of my favourites, and also because of the fact that for years I thought the lyrics were 'Maastricht', instead of 'Buzzclick'. • Genesis: In Memory Of 3SA - SAPeT Dj Promo Mix (Vinyl) (2022)

Peter Paul Pigmans, a.k.a. 3 Steps Ahead. A well known name in the Hardcore industry. A character most loved and cherished. And during his short reign in the Hardcore scene, he certainly made a dent in its already exciting history, and his music was considered the most prolific at one stage. He was ground breaking, he wasn't just your standard run of the mill producer. Not only did he use the 3SA alias, he was also known under these names: Bug Slowbizy, Pedro Terzero, Peter Paul Pigmans, Silverbells, The Ender, and the Illegal Alien. He spent 10 years in the scene, and became a legend, even after his unfortunate passing in 2003 of cancer. 3 Steps Ahead's back catalogue is still to this day impressive, and he's made some of the most memorable Hardcore anthems during the 90s. Let me just name a few, just a few you might know. 'Drop It', 'It's Delicious', 'Paint It Black', 'Gangster', 'Hakkuh'.... ring any bells yet? Of course you know them all, otherwise you wouldn't call yourself a gabber, right? Now every so often I've got this craving for the 90s, and one of the names that keeps on appearing is 3SA. I was there, at Mysteryland 1998 Outdoor in Bussloo, and saw him perform live. It was messy, but memorable. And I think most of his music touched a snare. The other month I listened to his 'Most Wanted & Mad' album, and I even had a throwback moment to his second album 'Junkie', released in 2000. If there's one album you will never fully understand, it's that one. It's got some big tracks on it, but also a weird concept surrounds it. You need to listen to it to understand. Yesterday I found this 'In Memory Of' set on Soundcloud. A mix by SAPeT DJ. Don't know if it was actually recorded live, it seems to be that way, looking at the image above? Obviously it's cool to do that, and to honour the late and great PPP. It's a short set (40 minutes), but it's all dedicated to 3SA. What else could we wish for? 3 Steps Ahead - So Much Trouble 3 Steps Ahead - Hardcore 3 Steps Ahead - Drop It (The Ender Mix) 3 Steps Ahead - Put Your Hands Up 3 Steps Ahead - Me So Horny DJ Weirdo & Dr. Phil Omanski - Young Birds (3 Steps Ahead Mix) 3 Steps Ahead - Money In My Pocket 3 Steps Ahead - Hakkuh 3 Steps Ahead - It's Delicious 3 Steps Ahead - In The Name Of Love 3 Steps Ahead - The Thunder Anthem (Thunderscream) It's short, sweet, but the tracks themselves are timeless classics. Real beauties, and they are all solid as a rock. Some are superb, some are OK, but all in all they are timeless Hardcore/Gabber anthems. But now onto the mix itself. Well, that's another story. Whereas the tracks are great, the mix isn't 100%. Don't get me wrong, I love the concept and it's amazing that the music is still kept alive and kicking. But the set isn't that great. A lot of mistakes, a lot of errors. It's not a smooth ride at all. Maybe it's different when you are hearing this live, but listening at home, it doesn't leave a good impression. SAPeT DJ's set is not one I would remember in a while. Again, it's great to hear 3 Steps Ahead being commemorated, but the outcome isn't great. It would have been a different story if the mix was superb, but sadly this isn't. The tracks are really great, and it's got 11 classics in there, and to me 'In The Name Of Love' is the best. I wish it was a better set, it would have given me so much more satisfaction. Mentioning earlier the question 'what else could we wish for'? 3SA to be alive. Sadly that won't happen... fuck cancer. • Happy Hardcore Classics 161 'Remixed III' (2021)

It's Monday, Bank Holiday Monday. Most of us will be relaxing, getting ready for a short week. But for today, whatever the reason might be for this Bank Holiday, let's end it on a high. Let's play some UK Hardcore/Happy Hardcore. And the place to be for that kind of music is obviously the only page on Soundcloud that matters: History Of Happy Hardcore. The only place to go to, if you are searching for something Happy Hardcore related. And I'm not wrong: 16.1k followers, 633 (what I'm guessing are) mixes. It's the place to be, and today I've got a mix from 2021 you might appreciate... It's a remix appreciation mix. A bit of the old, and a bit of the new. And everything in between. If you are searching for happiness, this mix will certainly bring a smile on your face. It did for me. But you have to be a lover the UK Hardcore sound. If you are, you will certainly appreciate this mix, and what HOHH has done. A nearly 2 hour long mix with melodic and euphoric happy music. And the artists are all big names from the scene. Don't believe me? Scroll a bit further down and have a look at the tracklist, and you will know immediately what I'm talking about. As mentioned before, it's a mixture of the old classics remixed, and a few newer ones. It's a pleasant journey through UK Hardcore rich history, and HOHH's selection of anthems is interesting, to say the least. A lot of happy vocally tunes, and that's what we need right now. You are probably not happy at the moment, thinking you need to work tomorrow, but we can turn that thought upside down, and put some happiness in your head. Or, when I say we, I mean HOHH. The tracklist is an interesting one, one you would really want to see: N-Trance - Set You Free (Hixxy Remix) United In Dance feat Jenna - Shining Down Demo - You're Mine (Slipmatt 2007 Remix) Slipmatt - After Dark (Remix) Stealth vs Al Storm - Flowers Needs The Rain (Al Storm Mix) Slippery Project - Something Like This (Dougal & Gammer Remix) Stealth - Love, Life & Happiness (Darwin Mix) Bang! - Give Me A Reason (Al Storm) DJ Breeze - I Got A Feeling Bang! - Shooting Star (Darwin Mix) Bang! - Break Of Dawn (Al Storm & Euphony Remix) SMD - SMD#1A (Sparky & Sytronik Remix) Slippery Project - Jump Around (Fracus Remix) DJ Chewy - Rock This Place (DJ Kurt Remix) Bang The Future - Body Slam (Sy & Unknown Mix) Bang! - Sailaway (Storm & Euphony Remix) SMD - SMD#2AA (Al Storm Remix) Visa - Fly Away (Al Storm Remix) Triple J - Have It All (Al Storm Remix) Triple J - Eternity (Darwin Remix) (Intro Mix) Jack Speed - Everybody Here Tonight (Daniel Seven Remix) Bass-X - Hardcore Disco (Spyro Dub) Scott Brown & Gilliant Tennant - Every Time I Close My Eyes (Ultravibes Remix) Q-Tex - The Power Of Love (Shimamura Remix) Darwin & Jack In Box - Love Toy NP Project - Sudden Impact Rise And Shine - The Rusher (Jack In Box & Darwin Remix) The tracklist looks great, but it's not all about the list of records, is about the mix. And that's the most important thing here: is the mix any good? Is it worth listening to? And the answer to that all important question is.... YES. If you want something nice and happy to get you through today, Something happy is what we always need, and also it's important to keep our mental state as happy as possible. And HOHH has done the perfect job: a nice compact happy mix, nearly 2 hours long, but those hours do fly by. And the records selected are really ace. I was familiar with most of these, but they still managed to put in a few records I've not heard before. So it's not just a blend of old and new, but also well known and new records. And I freaking loved it. It's made my day. So many great anthems in here, but Stealth's 'Love, Life & Happiness' (remixed by Darwin) was the one that got me the happiest of them all. So, in short, you want to listen to some happy Hardcore, jump on this mix right now, and start following HOHH on Soundcloud. You will thank me later! • Ultimate Trance Classics (2022)

From starting this morning with a Freeform/Trancecore mix, to an actual Trance mix with only the classics in them. How wonderful is that? It's certainly a great way to end your week with, especially when the mix in question is 3 hours long. Wait, what? Three hours? Yes, three hours of all-time Trance classics, mixed by Trance Classics. Well, I think that's the name of the one who made this mix, as the Soundcloud channel is also called Trance Classics. I spotted this mix early this morning, favourited it, and now I'm listening to it. And time does fly by when you are having fun. That's certainly the case here. You all know I love myself a bit of Trance. I grew up listening to it, and around the Millennium period, when Hardcore was 'dead', I replaced my love for the harder styles to something a tad softer and a bit more mellow-ish. That was Trance music. It has been around for many years, but it became massive in the late 90s/early 00s. And that's when I fully emerged myself into the music. And the set you are about to listen to, is filled with those classic anthems. The mix does contain the big anthems you have probably heard everywhere. I am not lying though, the classics are all in here. Well, not all of them, because if that's the case, 3 hours isn't long enough. Maybe I should have put it this way: a nice selection of classics are in this mix. 29 records, 3 hours of excellent music. And now you are curious, you want to know which songs are in this mix? Well, here's the tracklist for you all! Enjoy it as much as I have! Humate - Love Stimulation (Love Mix) Agnelli & Nelson - Embrace Travel - Bulgarian (Signum Remix) Fragma - Toca Me (In Petto Remix) Agnelli & Nelson - Everyday (Lange Remix) Rank 1 - Airwave Y-Traxx - Mystery Land (Sickboy Courtyard Remix) The Morrighan & Lange - Follow Me (Lange's Club Mix) Cygnus X - Superstring (Rank 1 Remix) The Thrillseekers - Synaesthesia (En-Motion Remix) Binary Finary - 1998 (Matt Darey Remix) Atlantis - Fiji N-Fluence - Sweet Substance Chicane - Saltwater Blank & Jones - Cream (Paul van Dyk Remix) William Orbit - Adagio For Strings (Ferry Corsten Remix) Sureal - You Take My Breath Away (Lange Remix) Generator - Where Are You Now (Moonman Remix) Three Drives - Greece 2000 Free Radical - Surreal Veracocha - Carte Blanche Signum feat Scott Mac - Coming On Strong Signum - What You Got For Me (Extended Vocal Mix) Lost Tribe - Gamemaster Chakra - Love Shines Through Lost Witness - Happiness Happening (Lange Remix) Push - The Legacy Insigma - Open Your Eyes Schiller - Das Glockenspiel (Humate Remix) Flawless execution. It's three hours, and it might be too long for you, too short, or just perfect, but for me it's been a blessing. I simply had to close my eyes, and within a split second I was back 20-ish years in time. A wee young lad, dancing in his bedroom, listening to these tunes. I feel young again with my eyes closed. There's a variety of tracks in here by different producers, and it's nice to hear that they had their own views on Trance and how it should sound like. Again, it wasn't new, but it was still in development. It was growing, and everyone had their own style, their own sound. And that I appreciate a lot. And also the tracks were so freaking good. Quality over quantity, that's for damn sure. Looking at this tracklist and picking a favourite is like choosing your favourite kid, if you had 29 kids. It's impossible. But secretly you do have a favourite, you just don't want to share that bit of knowledge. For me there are 28 epic songs, and one that lifts me higher than all the others. Push's 'The Legacy' is the one track that takes me into the stratosphere. A wonderful mix to wake up to, or just to chill to on this boring Sunday. Whatever you do today, let this mix take you through today, and guide you to Bank Holiday Monday! Maybe the only bit of critisism is the size of the file. 1.92 GB? Wow. • F is For... (2022)

Freeform. Free-fucking-Form! Hell yeah. What a way to start your weekend with. It's been a while since I last heard anything from DJ Midas, and I think that the last thing I've actually heard was his Anjuna mix from a few years ago? I could be talking out of my ass, but who knows? Who actually cares, in that perspective? If you are reading this thinking to yourself 'what the actual fuck is he on about?', even I don't have a clue. What I'm trying to say is that DJ Midas is back with a new mix, and it's been a while. And as he's been in the scene for a few years, he knows exactly what the listener wants to hear. The classics, yes, that's right. And if you are thinking of classic Freeform, you automatically go to one label, the majestic label called Nu Energy. The label that made things happen for Freeform. It became a stable force, the label that was there at the right time. It took the scene to the next level, by releasing wicked anthems. A shame that it stopped existing, but it had to be this way. It is funny in a way that for weeks/months I find no Freeform mixes on Soundcloud, and all of a sudden there are a few in one/two weeks? The Summer must bring out the Freeform desire in many? Well, without further ado, let me show you the tracklist. If you are a fan of Nu Energy or Freeform in general since day one, you will know each and every song Midas used for his mix. It's a big one, this mix. Trust me! Johnny Go Go - Violet Skies Energy - Ravers Revenge Rez - Rez Out (Raved Up Mix) Energy - Take Me Up (Energy & Sharkey Mix) Vinal & Dan Devotion - Say It Again Mark Ashley & K-Complex - Frenetic Lost Soul - Euphoric Energy A.M.S. - Dreamer K-Complex & DJ Vinal - Adromeda Kevin Energy - Roll With This (Fast As Fuck Mix) Energy & Blackout - 7 Deadly Strings Safe 'N Sound - Got That Rush K-Complex & A.M.S. - Echelon (Freeform Edit) Energy - In Deep Trouble Kevin Energy - Waves Of Desire (Mark Ashley & K-Complex Remix) Kevin Energy - Vertigo Asa & S1 - Trance Overload Kevin Energy & Chris C - Forward To The Past (Kevin Energy Freeform Edit) Safe 'N Sound vs Cynista - Chemical Warfare A.M.S. - Drop The Beat Andy Vinal, Devotion & K-Complex - World Of Illusion Matt Style & Andy Vinal - Loosing Control (Freeform Edit) Kevin Energy - Terravising (Tazz & Sharkey Remix) Slippery Disco - Drift There are so many reoccurring names in this list, like Kevin Energy, K-Complex, and more. But there's a good reason for that... because they dominated the Freeform scene at its peak. And that could be the reason why Midas selected a lot of their tracks, or simply because the tracks are awesome. This has been nearly 2 hours of Freeform fun, carefully selected and mixed by Midas. I started listening to this at 6am this Monday morning, and I've been in a state of euphoria ever since. The tracks are really solid, and even though I'm still getting used to the really early Freeform (which used to be called Trancecore), I'm getting used to it. Maybe even secretly falling in love with it? Even to this day Freeform is underrated and it deserves a bigger stage, but what can we do? We can only hope it's picked up via streaming services, and they book these artists on major events. It certainly deserves a platform for the world to witness what we all have been witnessing for many years. A really ace mix by Midas. It has certainly made my Monday morning! Thank you Midas! More of these mixes, please? Best record? 'World Of Illusion' by Andy Vinal, Devotion and K-Complex. DJ: Midas Genre/Style; Freeform, Trancecore Mix Info: F is For... • 𝙋𝙡𝙮𝙢𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙝 𝙒𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙃𝙖𝙧𝙙𝙘𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙏𝙚𝙘𝙝𝙣𝙤 𝙈𝙞𝙭 𝙊𝙣𝙚 !!! - 04-11-18

We made it! It's Friday, time to get ready for the weekend. We still have a few hours of working ahead of us, but at least we can count down. Counting the time until we can unwind, and relax. We will still have the agony ahead of us, which is upcoming Monday, which requires us to go back to work, but until then, we've got two days to ourselves. And it might be 2 days of relaxing, but I've got your back covered. I've got some music for you all to enjoy, and to give you enough boost to go through today. You don't want to miss out on this mix. So, what is it I've got for you to listen to today? It's a mix by Craig Scott, and it's all about Hardcore Techno music, the early stuff. Yes, the early 90s style that dominated the underground scene. The sound of music that was influenced by other styles, including Techno, Acid House, etc. Hardcore become bigger, better, and slightly bolder, but during the early 90s it was still in its infancy, and had to grow. And it certainly did that, but as you can hear during this mix, it was open for interpretations. Craig Scott uploaded this mix four years ago, and I only discovered it now. And it landed in my favourite list at the right moment at the right time. According to Craig, this one isn't for the faint-hearted, and he certainly has a point. It's not as manic as Terror, where the BPMs can go to a gazillion, but it's still powerful enough to make you move. And moving is what you will do, once you press the play button. An hour of early 90s Hard Dance music, you're going to love it! Blue Alphabet - Cybertrance Mindscape - Orange Sunshine Genlog - Mockmoon (Remix) Surface - Brain Reset Jones & Stephenson - The First Rebirth Samuel Onevas - Helium Spectral Emotions - Closer Nervous Project - Nervous Acid Vene - Pain Deltraxx - Explorers Of The Mind Jack Smooth & Alex Reece - 20 Hertz (Remix) Critical Mass - 3 O'time Mark NRG - I Like BK DJ Bounty Hunter - Whoops Influx - Braineater DJ Edge - C5 Drax Ltd II - Amphetamine Commander Tom - Are Am Eye Sabotage - Kayht The Dok - I Want You Unknown Structure - Helixcoid White Breaks - White Line This is as good looking as you can imagine. This is just what I needed to hear, and if you haven't discovered this mix yet, you should jump on this right this second. I love the early Hardcore Techno sound that was influenced heavily by Acid music. I think, and I might be wrong, DJ Dano once said 'bring back Acid into Hardcore', and he's got a valid point. Would the younger generation get it? Probably not, but the older generation will still love it and appreciate it. Hardcore has drastically changed over the years, and this early sound has faded into obscurity. Like it doesn't exist anymore. Which is a pity, for sure. But thankfully we can go back in time and appreciate what once was the dopest music on Earth. Craig's mix is tight, dope, and also downloadable. The tracks are all fucking solid, and he has done us a favour by making it. No negative feedback whatsoever. Best record? Well, got to give it to Vene - Pain. Dope as fuck! • GR Tape 3 - Gillbax (2022)

If you were to say to me ''it's Monday'', I would believe you. But it's not, it's Thursday, and it doesn't feel like a Thursday. It feels slightly weird, and I cannot describe it. But a weird day requires some 'weird' music, and have I got just the right mix for you all? A mix I stumbled across yesterday late afternoon, and it was probably because someone reposted it or shared it somewhere, but normally it wouldn't appear on my timeline, but it did. A mix made by someone called Gillbax, for a Soundcloud channel called Gabber Resistance. Now you might be wondering, what's this mix all about? Well, if the name of the channel didn't get you thinking of the musical style called Gabber, there must be something wrong with you. But don't worry, doctor TCD here to help. Yes, this mix contains a few classics from the 90s, some forgotten Gabber classics by the likes of Predator, Scott Brown, Nordcore GmbH, and more. There seems to be a lot of love for Gabber and Gabber Resistance's channel, this mix already got a few reposts and likes, and it's only been a few hours online. Not even a day, and people are loving it. But truth be told, I listened to this mix yesterday on my way home from work, and I had the music on max volume. Why? Well, because the mix is good, but the tracks selected are monstrously gorgeous! Hardcore in general might get a lot of attention, but the 90s Gabber sound is (to me) sadly too underrated. It deserves more credit, and with this mix it at least gets some recognition. But which tunes am I referring to? Well, these: Nordcore GmbH - Nordcore Attack Genaside - Nuclear DJ Isaac & Pagan - 2 Definitions Scott Brown - Brain-Damaged Michelangelo - Pump The Bass J.D.A. - Voel Je Die Bass Predator - Filled With Power Warlock - Straight On And On Lord Of Hardcore - Rip It Up (Annihilator Remix) DJ Skorp & Chronotrigger - The Answer Bruyaa & Ozonic - Ruthless (Mix) Scarface - Hear It Twice Spellbound & Mickey - Damn Skippy (Just Scream Mix) Virtua Insanity - Banzai (Original Mix) Da Mindcrusher - Bellyfood Party Animals - E.H.B.O. Delta 9 - Son Of A Bitch DJ Hyste - Sector Boom Starbanger - Defenders DJ Weirdo & Guitar Rob - Be A Gangster DJ Skinhead - Take It Outside Now this is a proper tracklist. How often do you find these tracks in other mixes? Not that often, right? And that's what I meant by saying this is underrated. But it's oh so good. This just reminds me of one of the best years of Hardcore/Gabber, which was 1996. I miss this year a lot. Can't believe it's now 26 years ago! This mix is a good one. Gillbax has made a very interesting mix, with a shit ton of epic underrated classics. Truly a wicked mix, one you will certainly enjoy as much as I am enjoying it right now. There might be a small snagging thing bothering you, which is the recording quality. It sounds at one stage it goes from 320kbps to something lower than 100kbps, and then goes back up again. The quality goes up and down. You can still hear the tracks properly, but you might notice it too. It might give you some flashbacks to when we used to listen to music on tapes, and the sound quality going up and down. As cool as it was, I don't miss it that much. Give me music at the highest sound quality! But besides the sound quality, everything else is great. Good selection of records, and nicely mixed together. The best track in this mix for a car journey has to be DJ J.D.A.'s 'Voel Je Die Bass'. My God, my rear windscreen nearly blew into a billion pieces. It handled it like a boss, but it was still extremely pressurising. But what a great track. A good mix to start your Thursday with, wouldn't you agree? • Rampage Turbo 10 (Celebrating 10 Years of Finrg) (2012)

It is Wednesday, Freeform day. Or maybe call it FinRG day. Because I've got a brilliant mix for you all. An oldie, by DJ Pearsall, but still fresh and with the right tracks in it. The mix was made 10 years ago, and now it's 10 years later, making FinRG 20 years? Maybe it's time for Pearsall to do volume 2 (if he hasn't already). And if he hasn't, why not? We need more Freeform, we need mroe FinRG. Sadly you won't see many mix reviews focussed on FinRG as there aren't that many mixes, and if there are, not many have an actual tracklist, which is a pity. But Pearsall has got you covered, and this mix does come with a very nice looking tracklist. Well, I need a bit of oomph. A bit of the harder styles, without blowing my ears into bits. I started this morning with a bit of mellow Club and House, but then I realised that I've got a busy few weeks ahead, and it freaked me out. So for me to focus I needed to hear this mix. I tried an Uptempo Hardcore mix, but I started to pull my hairs out of my skull. Too early to start looking like my dad, so let's not listen to Uptempo today... 2 hours of Finnish Freeform. Can you imagine what that sounds like? No worries, no need to imagine it, as you can experience it. Underneath this review the Soundcloud player is visible, just press play and let yourself be completely engulfed in the wonderful world we call FinRG. If you are from Finland, or you love FinRG, you will certainly love this mix. Yes, it might be a 10 year old mix, but it's certainly still as fresh as the day it was made. The music is as timeless as I am... and that's saying a lot! These are the tracks Pearsall used for his mix back in 2012: Carbon Based - Kraateri The Mexican - The Land Of The Pharaohs (Carbon Based Remix) Carbon Based - The Choice Carbon Based & Nemes - Heaven 'N Hell Proteus & Carbon Based - Heavy Fusion DJ Proteus - Metal Paocala - Starfall Carbon Based & E-NRG - Illuminate Carbon Based, E-NRG & Nemes - Prologue DJ Rx - Hellfire Re-Form - Extremely Dangerous Nemes & Blender - Without Fear Alek Szahala - Dryad Machine Alek Szahala - Unicorn Grove DJ Rx - Killer Instinct Carbon Based - Underworld Species Carbon Based - Anger Ball Pain On Creation - Mortality Pain On Creation - Lush (Carbon Based Remix) DJ Proteus - Venla Alek Szahala - Lumi Re-Form - Schizophrenic Re-Form - Blackmailer (Hard NRG Mix) Carbon Based - Fatal Flashback Nomic & Pain On Creation - Make Me Real Alek Szahala - Invitation Nomic - You Have A Dream Carbon Based - Ultimate Protection DOK - Mental Ward (Carbon Based Remix) Carbon Based - Cyclone Alek Szahala - Superstition Alek Szahala - Man Eaten This could have easily been named a Carbon Based of Alek Szahala dedication mix, as their tracks appear in this mix a fair few times. Is that a bad decision? Absolutely NOT. They are two of the biggest names in the FinRG scene, but certainly not the only ones... The tracks selected are gorgeous. And some so damn good to see and hear again. It's been a while since I last ventured into the FinRG world, but it's a blessing. The music is just so damn good, close to Freeform, but still with a twist. They made Freeform their own, and made it special. The two hours fly by, and you wouldn't even have a clue that you gone through 32 tracks, and it all seems like one big blur. You were intoxicated by Finnish Freeform, and I know how that feels like. Pearsall has made a very cool mix that has stood the test of time, and one that deserves more plays and more credit, but so does FinRG. They deserve more credit for what they have been doing for donkey's years! A cool mix, and also available as a download. What else could you wish for? Maybe volume 2? Two decades of FinRG by Pearsall? • Early Freeform Set (100% Vinyl) (2021)

Early Freeform. Not the biggest fan of it, if I'm honest. When it was still called Trancecore. And that's a very long time ago. I remember purchasing a lot of UK Hardcore CD compilations, and there would always be at least 1 or 2 discs focussed on this style of music. Maybe I was a bit biased, or just preferred UK Hardcore more (as it shares a lot of the music with Happy Hardcore), but Trancecore or Freeform just never grabbed me as much as it should have done. 0bviously I'm a bit older now, and have got common sense, and I started to like it a bit more. Still new to it, but appreciate it so far... I'd much prefer the newer sounding Freeform. And that's just me telling the truth. But I start to venture into the earlier sound, the Trancecore/Freeform from ye oldie times. But let's not dwell on the fact that my musical taste is fucked up, let's focus on what's in front of us. A new mix, one I only discovered this morning, while being in the office. I saw it, and jumped on it like a mad dog, a rabid dog, attacking its prey. That's me. DJ Seany is the man behind this mix, and sadly I'm not aware of who he is. But instead I shall focus on the music. And the music is as old as you want it to be. To you it might sound outdated compared to the current Freeform, but you might like that? I'm open to literally anything: I couldn't care less if the music was from 1980, 1918, or 1890. Music is music, and it has the power to move you. But is this mix strong enough to move you, get you in the zone? Jonny Go Go - Acid Rain Sharkey & Eclipse - Mind Launch Slam & Helix - Acid Break Mark Smith - Encounters Fade & Melody - Liquid Nights Square Wave - Like A Criminal Supreme & U.F.O. - Trip To The Other Side DJ Eclipse - Light Cycle Tekno Dred & Ad Man - A Voice Spoke To Me Energy & Loopy - Overdose '99 (Sharkey Remix) DJ Fury - Lemonade Raygun (Main Floor Mix) Bang The Future - Body Slam Sharkey & Trixxy - Genesis I know the artists, I know the songs, but it's been a long time since I last heard them. And I do mean a long time. Probably when I started purchasing most of the Bonkers CDs, mid 2000s. And you might be a connoisseur and know them all and adore them, and if you are, I envy you. I'm still trying to get into it. And the tracks selected by Seany are very cool, no word of a lie. Some might a tad outdated, but still cool, and others just sound otherworldly. Is it Trancecore? Is it Freeform, or something completely different? I do like the feeling and the vibes, so that's a positive. A few tiny errors won't spoil the mix for you, and if you want to go back in time, to the early Freeform years, this is a good start. Don't know much else is there to say? Enjoy it... Best record? 'Genesis', Why not? • Flux Overload @ Illuminate - The Classics 2022

A Trance set, a Drum and Bass set, and now a Hardstyle set, to end this miserable Monday with. Music-wise it's been a blessing though, but the temperatures have been through the roof, and only just now did we have the first bit of rain for weeks. The golden garden needs it. And my car as well. And now I've had my dinner, and I'm relaxing. The wife is chilling on the sofa, and we are about to do the dishes. Normally it's not an issue, but I need something hard and rough to get the dishes done. Hence why I'm now playing this mix, a set by Flux Overload. Records at this years Illuminate. I've been outside of The Netherlands for too damn long, as I've never heard of this event before. It has got some good reviews, and a few of the names playing are familiar to me (Crypsis, The Pitcher, Josh & Wesz, and more). This event was focussed on the early Hardstyle sound, and as you all know, I'm a sucker for this kind of music. I grew up with it, so obviously I prefer this to the current day Hardstyle (sorry fans of the present day Hardstyle). The early style just does so much more for me. And for me it will always be one of the styles I grew up with, and hold fondly close to my heart. I'm not familiar with the event, nor with the DJ, but what I do know is that the mix has had some good feedback. And if you were at this event, you must have had a wicked time. But just judging the tracklist by Flux Overload, it's a good looking set. But you are curious now, right? 2 Best Enemies - Phases (TBY Romantic Mix) Wildstylez - A Complex Situation Builder - Her Voice (Headhunterz Remix) Wildstylez - Back 2 Basics Brennan Heart & Wildstylez & Noisecontrollers - Just Attack As Easy Again (Mashup) Zany - Motherfck (Zany Rework) Showtek - Analogue Players In A Digital World Geck-E - Soul Train Tatanka - Afrika Max Enforcer - Gold (24K Refix) Wildstylez - Delay Distortion Noisecontrollers - So High (Sound Rush Mashup) The Raiders - A Feeling (Tuneboy Remix) Project One - Rate Reducer (Headhunterz Remix) Hardstyle Masterz & Max Enforcer - Respect Bulldozer Project - Arise (The Beholder & Zany Remix) Wildstylez feat D-Block & S-te-Fan - The Human Soul Noisecontrollers - Faster 'n Further Davide Sonar - Natural The Prophet - Ordinary Life Headhunterz - Subsonic (Hardbass Edit) 2 Sidez - Listen The Nasty Boyz - Angel (Hardstyle Masterz Cut) Oh YEAH! What a nice looking tracklist. This is something I really needed to hear. The classics in an hour long mix, wahay! More of this please! Flux Overload has made a very interesting set with a shit ton of excellent early Hardstyle anthems. All very melodic and euphoric sounding dancefloor anthems. I'm guessing it went down well at Illuminate? If you were there, leave a comment below, would be interesting to hear how it was. Some of these records I have completely ignored over the years, but when they were on many compilations back in the day, I absorbed them like a sponge. Don't know why they disappeared from my musical memory bank, but thanks to sets like this one I am reintroduced to them. Like 'The Human Soul', 'Natural', 'Arise', and more. Obviously he played the most well known tracks from back in the day. You simply cannot play an early set without these classics in there. A cool set. Nothing much to add. Flux Overload, you've gained another fan! More of these mixes, please please, pretty please!?
